1st (9) (11/4 +21%)Talk To The Man |
11/4(+21%) | (9) Talk To The Man 11/4, Yard won this race last year. Improved from debut when fourth, beaten 6l, in a bumper at Newbury latest. Returning from a long layoff; effective at 2m and a point winner who should improve for a step up in trip on hurdle debut. Fourth in valuable Newbury bumper last March; makes hurdle debut after 318-day layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/11 -25%)Kings Champion |
10/11(-25%) | (2) Kings Champion 10/11, Improved when stepped up in trip to win a maiden hurdle at Ayr by 12l last time. Effective over 2m to 2m4f and acts on soft and good to soft. Latest form had knocks but remains progressive. Created good impression when winning by 12l at Ayr last month; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (150/1 +25%)Marhaba Million |
150/1(+25%) | (8) Marhaba Million 150/1, Again ran to a moderate level when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle here last time. Has all to prove over hurdles based on efforts so far. Out of form on the Flat last year and soundly beaten over 2m here on both hurdling starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/2 -17%)Crest Of Stars |
7/2(-17%) | (1) Crest Of Stars 7/2, Quickened clear readily and improved for debut experience when winning a maiden hurdle here by 7 1/2l last time. Trainer is in form; effective at 2m and acts on good ground. More to come over hurdles if sharpening up jumping and holds strong claims if handling conditions. Scored by 7.5l under positive ride here (2m) last month; upped in trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/2 +39%)Angel Wave |
11/2(+39%) | (3) Angel Wave 11/2, Gentlewave gelding who is a half-brother to Alfa Charlie, who was poor at 16f. Yard can get them ready first time, and he makes his hurdle debut here with that in mind. Out of a well-connected bumper winner; has fairly useful standard to reach on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (200/1 -60%)Like A Dancer |
200/1(-60%) | (7) Like A Dancer 200/1, Made a modest debut when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Exeter on his most recent start. May need more time to find his level over hurdles. Always behind when 200-1 for Exeter maiden hurdle last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (100/1 +0%)Kings Order |
100/1(+0%) | (6) Kings Order 100/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Fakenham latest, having never travelled or jumped fluently. Effective at 3m in points and acts on good ground, but looks one for further down the line. Irish point second last May but yet to show anything more than minor promise under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (150/1 +25%)Hannibal Bogan |
150/1(+25%) | (5) Hannibal Bogan 150/1, Outpaced and looked in need of a stiffer test when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle here most recently. Returns from a short break and is likely to need more time, with a longer trip possibly suiting. Soundly beaten at triple-digit odds on first two hurdling starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sam Thomas is enjoying a fine season and Angel Wave must be monitored in the betting on his racecourse debut. Even so, the 124-rated KINGS CHAMPION sets a decent standard judged on his facile victory at Ayr and should take all the beating. Fellow penalised winner Crest Of Stars came good at the second time of asking over hurdles here and is likely to be in the thick of the action too.

Talk To The Man is interesting but KINGS CHAMPION looked useful when scoring over hurdles last month and gets the vote.

1st (6) (4/5 +0%)Grand Vendetta |
4/5(+0%) | (6) Grand Vendetta 4/5, Yard won this last year. Lazy early and green under pressure, but shaped very well when runner-up beaten 8 1/2l on his promising debut in a novice hurdle at Chepstow. Effective over 2 1/2m and should come on plenty with Cobden taking over. Signs of inexperience when runner-up on debut and he's in good hands to progress; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (13/8 +0%)Wandering Ego |
13/8(+0%) | (1) Wandering Ego 13/8, Ran to form on handicap debut when doing plenty early and finishing 10l third in a handicap hurdle at Kempton last time. Effective over 2m and may do better stepped up in trip. Big player if coping with conditions. Won at Stratford on second hurdle run; this looks a winnable assignment under 7lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (13/2 +35%)Joyau Allen |
13/2(+35%) | (8) Joyau Allen 13/2, Yard won this last year. Improved slightly when well beaten in a maiden hurdle here last time. Effective over 2m1f, a bumper winner who has yet to fire over hurdles. Bumper winner; place claims on fourth hurdle start but needs something extra to win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (125/1 -213%)Dragons And Demons |
125/1(-213%) | (5) Dragons And Demons 125/1, Outpaced but improved slightly when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton last time. Looked in need of a stiffer test and a longer trip should suit, though he has plenty to find. Soundly beaten at big odds on his two completed hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (18/1 -125%)Brisky Dancer |
18/1(-125%) | (2) Brisky Dancer 18/1, Green and well beaten on a modest debut in a novice hurdle at Chepstow on his only start. Returns from a short break and should improve for the experience but still has work to do. Tailed off on debut but has smart pedigree; interesting to see how he goes in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (33/1 -18%)Inkaman |
33/1(-18%) | (7) Inkaman 33/1, Fair debut but well beaten in a maiden at Newbury on his only start. Absent for a very lengthy period and fitted with a tongue-tie for the first time, with plenty to do. Sixth of 14 on sole Flat start which was back in May 2023; probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (150/1 -200%)Lunchable Bob |
150/1(-200%) | (9) Lunchable Bob 150/1, Stayed on for a promising effort when 21l third in a novice hurdle at Newton Abbot last time and probably needed the run. Absent for a very lengthy period, effective over 2m5f and looks a strong stayer. 11yo who has shown signs of ability but this is his first run since September 2022. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WANDERING EGO was far from disgraced on his handicap bow behind two progressive rivals at Kempton and he makes grand appeal reverting to novice company. The six-year-old shapes as if this step up in trip could unlock some improvement and he's fancied to fend off Grand Vendetta. Paul Nicholls' inmate should have learned plenty from his opening second at Chepstow and looks the obvious danger, ahead of stablemate Joyau Allen.

This may go to GRAND VENDETTA who is open to improvement on the back of his debut second at Chepstow. Wandering Ego is the danger.

1st (2) (8/11 +13%)Beauty In The Park |
8/11(+13%) | (2) Beauty In The Park 8/11, Improved for debut experience under a positive ride when second, beaten 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle here latest. Effective at 2m, acts on GS and is progressing after a wind op, so should be winning soon. Runner-up over C&D last month on second hurdle start and she holds solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/2 +44%)Yeld To Call |
9/2(+44%) | (7) Yeld To Call 9/2, Paid the price late for trying to go with a useful winner when fourth, beaten 20l, in a novice hurdle at Newbury latest. Improved from debut after a wind op and should find a modest maiden. Fourth on all four starts, most recently against males at Newbury; might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (85/40 +39%)Queenie St Clair |
85/40(+39%) | (1) Queenie St Clair 85/40, Returned to form when winning a handicap hurdle at Wincanton by 3/4l last time. Effective around 2m on a sound surface and remains well treated on the evidence of her Irish form. Returned to form to win Wincanton handicap on yard debut; leading claims if backing it up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (80/1 -142%)Geordies Betty |
80/1(-142%) | (4) Geordies Betty 80/1, Promising debut when finishing a 14l third in a novice hurdle at Fontwell on her most recent run. Effective at 2m and should improve a little for that initial experience. 14l third at Fontwell on recent rules debut; others have more substance to their form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (80/1 -60%)Shanagolden Girl |
80/1(-60%) | (6) Shanagolden Girl 80/1, Green and failed to handle the track when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle here on her most recent start. Effective at 2m3f but improvement is needed. Point runner-up; didn't run badly against males on h'dle debut; might have each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (28/1 -522%)Loro White |
28/1(-522%) | (5) Loro White 28/1, Outpaced and modest on debut when well beaten in a maiden bumper at Uttoxeter on her only start. May want further than 2m in time. With a good stable but she was well beaten on her debut in a bumper at Uttoxeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (80/1 -21%)Cast's Georgie |
80/1(-21%) | (3) Cast's Georgie 80/1, Green and modest on debut when well beaten in a novice hurdle at Fontwell on her only start. Plenty to prove on the back of that initial effort. Tailed off at 40-1 on last month's debut at Fontwell (2m1f, soft). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Having made a successful stable bow at Wincanton, Queenie St Clair should have more to come. However, a 6lb penalty does demand more on this switch to a novice hurdle and BEAUTY IN THE PARK is slightly more compelling. The six-year-old left an underwhelming fifth-placed hurdling bow behind her when finishing a close-up second over C&D last month, and a repeat may prove sufficient. Yeld To Call is the pick of the remainder.

Last month's C&D runner-up BEAUTY IN THE PARK is in good hands to progress and she is the selection ahead of Queenie St Clair.

1st (5) (11/4 +0%)Phoenix Risen |
11/4(+0%) | (5) Phoenix Risen 11/4, Ran to form when beaten 3l off a 2lb lower mark at Wincanton last time. Effective at 2m and suited by sharp tracks; in fair form and should be well suited by conditions again. Two good runs in blinkers this season, latterly when clear second of 13 at Wincanton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (16/5 +47%)Imaginarium |
16/5(+47%) | (1) Imaginarium 16/5, Needed the run and was below form when well beaten up in class in a handicap hurdle at Sandown last time. Effective at 2m; inconsistent, although his latest win has worked out very well. Won twice towards end of last season, and might have needed his reappearance run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (3/1 +0%)Premier |
3/1(+0%) | (6) Premier 3/1, Scored by a head off a 9lb lower mark here two runs ago. Had too much to do when third, beaten 3l, off 108 last time; 1lb higher now and consistent; can do better if ridden more positively. Placed at Newbury since C&D win in December but may prefer better ground than this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (12/1 +0%)Doyen Star |
12/1(+0%) | (2) Doyen Star 12/1, Made mistakes, was outpaced and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle last time. Off a short break; effective at 2m, but needs to prove his ability remains after a lay-off; on a fair mark if doing so. Very lightly raced since his two novice wins in 2022-23; current ability hard to gauge. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (20/1 +20%)Teorie |
20/1(+20%) | (4) Teorie 20/1, Tired late after a series of errors when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton last time. Effective over 2–2 1/2m; inconsistent and needs to show more reliability. Not disgraced at Wincanton last month but has basically become disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (3/1 -20%)Courageous Strike |
3/1(-20%) | (3) Courageous Strike 3/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off this mark at Kempton last time, suited by a positive ride at a sharp track. Enjoys making it; effective at 2m, useful on the Flat and in form on a fair mark. Big chance if handling conditions. Ran well on good ground at Kempton last month but conditions are a concern here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (40/1 -21%)Daany |
40/1(-21%) | (7) Daany 40/1, Tired late after a series of errors when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective around 2m on a sound surface; needs a bounce back but is down to his last winning mark. Finished tired when fifth at Ffos Las last month and is 6lb wrong here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

COURAGEOUS STRIKE has yet to score since being sent handicapping in October, but he performed with credit for third at Kempton last time out. The Paul Nicholls-trained five-year-old is now afforded an ease in class and should go close if handling conditions. A few of these arrive with something to prove, but Phoenix Risen and Premier are the biggest dangers.

Courageous Strike and Premier arrive in good form but PHOENIX RISEN (nap) looks better equipped to cope with today's ground.

1st (2) (9/4 -13%)Royal Jewel |
9/4(-13%) | (2) Royal Jewel 9/4, Keen and ran to form when third, beaten 9l, in a handicap chase at Chepstow on his most recent run. Effective over 2-2 1/2m and suited by cut, though the handicapper may be catching up. Largely in good form over shorter trips this season; contender if stamina holds out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/4 +25%)Brave Kingdom |
9/4(+25%) | (1) Brave Kingdom 9/4, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Newbury last time. Enjoys making it and returns off a short break. Effective over 2 1/2-3m, but needs to prove ability remains after a lay-off. This his easiest task for some time. Lightly raced 10yo; disappointed on seasonal debut and needs to get career back on track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/2 +29%)Captain Boudet |
5/2(+29%) | (5) Captain Boudet 5/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Newbury last time. Effective over 2 1/2-3m and acts on Soft and Good, but his overall profile is inconsistent. Back in prime form two starts ago but pulled up since and has become hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (7/2 +0%)Bucksy Des Epeires |
7/2(+0%) | (4) Bucksy Des Epeires 7/2, Failed to build on his reappearance when fourth, beaten 26l, in a handicap chase at Lingfield last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and acts on S and GS. Now back below his last winning mark, but his recent form has been in and out. Back on a good mark but has not really fired on either appearance this season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

BRAVE KINGDOM was fancied to give a decent account on his return this season, only to be pulled up at Newbury in November. However, the combination of a drop in grade and testing underfoot conditions gives Paul Nicholls' gelding the opportunity to bounce back. Royal Jewel has proven to be a versatile performer during his career and is entitled to be competitive, while Bucksy Des Epeires appears best of the remainder.

The most appealing option is ROYAL JEWEL, who has largely been in good form this season and recently had his Chepstow third boosted.

1st (7) (7/2 +0%)Palawan Du Mazet |
7/2(+0%) | (7) Palawan Du Mazet 7/2, Was poorly placed at a sharp track when comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time. Returns after a short break, is effective at 2 1/4m-2 1/2m, and is well treated on a spring win, so should build on that latest effort. First past the post in this race a year ago and now 2lb lower; high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/2 +42%)Storming Nelson |
7/2(+42%) | (3) Storming Nelson 7/2, Outpaced but ran to form when appearing unsuited by the drop in trip on chase debut, comfortably held in a novice chase at Chepstow last time. Effective at 2m-2 1/2m and may do better now returned to a longer distance over fences off what looks a generuos mark. In the frame all three hurdle starts this season; faced tough task on recent chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/2 -25%)Falco Des Pins |
15/2(-25%) | (2) Falco Des Pins 15/2, Did not find much having briefly threatened on chase debut when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Ffos Las last time, suggesting the run was needed. Effective at 2m and likely to improve, with French form indicating he should be capable of better. Well held on seasonal/chase debut in November but may yet come good for Venetia Williams. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/4 +21%)Jaitroplaclasse |
11/4(+21%) | (1) Jaitroplaclasse 11/4, Ran to form when just flattening out late after being stepped up in trip, having refused to settle, beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb lower mark at Ludlow last time. Effective at 2m-2m4f, in good form and may have a bit more to offer over this distance. Gave good account when close third at Ludlow last month and seems versatile ground-wise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|R| (6) (16/1 +27%)Holy Legend |
16/1(+27%) | (6) Holy Legend 16/1, Made mistakes and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap chase here latest. Effective at 2m-2 1/2m and still unexposed, but has a bit to prove following a lay-off and will need to show improvement. Tailed off here on last month's chasing debut and now 0-8 overall. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (11/1 -10%)Just Aidan |
11/1(-10%) | (5) Just Aidan 11/1, Outpaced and produced a modest effort when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton latest. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time, he is effective at 2m, but has a bit to prove starting out over fences. Dual hurdle winner; yet to strike form this season; cheekpieces added for chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (5/1 -50%)Nedzor |
5/1(-50%) | (4) Nedzor 5/1, Made mistakes and ran below form when comfortably held back over hurdles in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Had been in good form prior, is effective at 2m-2 1/2m, still a maiden but has a chance in this company. Below form over hurdles last time but runner-up twice over fences in November; headgear on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (40/1 +20%)Joker Jack |
40/1(+20%) | (8) Joker Jack 40/1, Stopped quickly when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle here most recent. Returns after a short break, is effective at 2m, but has yet to show anything of note and needs to demonstrate much more to feature. Showed nothing more than glimmers of promise during eight-run hurdling career; chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NEDZOR had disappointing market leader Falco Des Pins well in arrears when second at Ffos Las but after filling the same position at Uttoxeter, he then let favourite-backers down himself when reverting to timber back at the Welsh venue. He will be happier in this sphere, though, and the application of cheekpieces can help him get back on track. Falco Des Pins has undergone wind surgery since that lacklustre display so must not be written off. Jaitroplaclasse and Storming Nelson round out the shortlist.

A ready winner of this race last year (subsequently disqualified), PALAWAN DU MAZET could be hard to beat off a 2lb lower mark.

1st (1) (7/2 -5%)Our Dylan |
7/2(-5%) | (1) Our Dylan 7/2, A consistent performer who scored at Wincanton and was unsuited by waiting tactics last time. Effective at this trip and arrives in form, with conditions again likely to suit. Placed on heavy ground since good-ground win in November; respected in current mood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (3/1 -9%)Ourbrowneyedgirl |
3/1(-9%) | (5) Ourbrowneyedgirl 3/1, Showed improvement on her handicap debut when third at Wincanton. Can race freely but remains competitive at this trip if settling better. Travelled strongly for a long way when placed on handicap debut at Wincanton on Thursday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (8/1 +0%)Ask Peter |
8/1(+0%) | (8) Ask Peter 8/1, Went too hard early in a novice last time. The trainer is in form and she likes to dictate, though she may be vulnerable late on. Three-time Flat winner but 0-6 over hurdles; others have much stronger claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (25/1 +38%)Whatmakes Honey B |
25/1(+38%) | (7) Whatmakes Honey B 25/1, Never involved on her reappearance and needs to bounce back from that effort. Usually held up and best around this trip but unreliable in short career. C&D winner last season but well beaten both starts this term and has ground worries today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/1 +31%)It's A Breeze |
11/1(+31%) | (4) It's A Breeze 11/1, Pulled hard and failed to stay when upped in trip last time. A tongue-tie is applied and a return to this sort of distance may help. Didn't get home over 3m here last time but Paul Nicholls may yet find the key to him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (10/1 -43%)Taritino |
10/1(-43%) | (6) Taritino 10/1, Unsuitable tactics didn't help last time and he prefers to make the running. Generally consistent over hurdles and may benefit from a change in approach. Ran okay over C&D last month but the forecast slower ground is a big worry today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (12/1 +82%)Ilot De L'isle |
12/1(+82%) | (3) Ilot De L'isle 12/1, Needed his comeback run after wind surgery and should strip fitter this time. Capable at this distance, although his recent form has been mixed. Showed benefit of a wind op when running well for a long way at Leicester last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (66/1 -32%)Bossofthebus |
66/1(-32%) | (10) Bossofthebus 66/1, Unseated late on last time and his recent form has dipped. Effective at 2m3f with cut but needs to rediscover the promise shown earlier in his career. Out of sorts for new stable since the autumn; leap of faith required to support him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (5/2 +17%)Dish Of The Day |
5/2(+17%) | (9) Dish Of The Day 5/2, Returned to form with first-time cheekpieces when well backed last time. Has an inconsistent profile but is capable if building on that effort. Top jockey booked for return and stable can get them ready after a break. Absent since Stratford third last March but Sean Bowen is booked again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (33/1 +50%)Road Senam |
33/1(+50%) | (2) Road Senam 33/1, Possibly failed to stay last time and returns from a short break. Best around 2m4f but has a bit to prove now representing new connections. Soundly beaten three times since returning from long absence for new stable in October. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Rian Corcoran was seen to good effect on OUR DYLAN at Wincanton and is back on board after Kayley Woollacott's 10-year-old followed up that victory with a solid third under James Bowen at Ffos Las. Off the same mark, he is preferred to Ourbrowneyedgirl, who made a pleasing beginning to handicap life at Wincanton. A tongue-tie should help It's A Breeze settle better, although it needs to, and Dish Of The Day is worth a look on his comeback.

As good as ever this season and with Rian Corcoran claiming a very useful 7lb, last year's runner-up OUR DYLAN gets the nod.
Ths is the racecard key.
