1st (6) (1/7 +64%)Salvator Mundi |
1/7(+64%) | (6) Salvator Mundi 1/7, Unsuited by a change of tactics when comfortably held in the Racing Post Novice Chase at Leopardstown last time. A top jockey is back on board. Suited by 2m on good ground, yet to match hurdles form where he was a Grade 1 winner but should outclass these. Grade 1 winner over hurdles; chase debut was encouraging; below par since in a Grade 1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (6/1 +14%)Fishery Lane |
6/1(+14%) | (3) Fishery Lane 6/1, Ran to form when beaten 30l into third in a beginners chase at Fairyhouse last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and from a top yard, but has yet to really fire since switching to fences. Hasn't got a lot going over fences this season and this trip is on the short side for him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (17/2 -113%)Dr Eggman |
17/2(-113%) | (2) Dr Eggman 17/2, Never put into the race but improved from debut when beaten 12l into third in a beginners chase at Fairyhouse. Effective at around 2 1/2m and looks capable of better with a stiffer test and more positive handling. Encouraging third at Fairyhouse but relying on Salvator Mundi fluffing his lines. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (66/1 -32%)Shellrunforbriggs |
66/1(-32%) | (11) Shellrunforbriggs 66/1, Made too much use of up in trip at a stiff track and did not get home when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Navan last time, though she ran well to a point. Effective at 2 1/2m on heavy ground and could bounce back. Maiden hurdle winner; unlikely to be troubling the best of these even if taking to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (150/1 -127%)Desert Cave |
150/1(-127%) | (1) Desert Cave 150/1, Poor run when comfortably held in a novice point at Ballindenisk last time. Wears a hood for the first time. Effective over 3m on good ground, but this hurdles winner has plenty to prove now back under rules. Tailed off in a beginners chase and recent pointing exploits just as discouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (14/1 -27%)Scalpnagoon |
14/1(-27%) | (7) Scalpnagoon 14/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Navan last time after a short break. Effective at 2 1/2m on soft or good ground, but is out of form over hurdles and must bounce back on chase debut. Lost his way over hurdles after winning twice; bit to prove on this chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (33/1 -32%)Nytol |
33/1(-32%) | (10) Nytol 33/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Galway last time. The trainer is in form. Effective over 2 1/2-3m and was progressive over hurdles prior to that run, but may just need this on her chase debut. Dual hurdle winner; probably vulnerable against some of these on her chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (80/1 +20%)L'amiral Fromentin |
80/1(+20%) | (9) L'amiral Fromentin 80/1, Continued in poor form when comfortably held in a maiden point at Ballindenisk last time. Returns from a long layoff and showed nothing of note in points, leaving him with plenty to find on recent evidence. Beaten 15l in his only completion in four runs in 3m points; hard to recommend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (50/1 -52%)Stuntman Steve |
50/1(-52%) | (8) Stuntman Steve 50/1, Made mistakes, was outpaced and needed the run when well beaten in a beginners chase at Fairyhouse last time. Effective at 2m, but has yet to prove his stamina over further and looks on a stiff mark over hurdles. 28-1 for chase debut at Fairyhouse and was behind Dr Eggman and Reliable Prince. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (250/1 -67%)Major Wells |
250/1(-67%) | (4) Major Wells 250/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Naas last time. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time. Effective at 2m on ground with cut, but has plenty to prove after a layoff. Pulled up in his two points and has looked very limited over hurdles. |

SALVATOR MUNDI hasn't achieved what might have been expected of him over fences but this appears to be a suitable opportunity for him to get off the mark in this sphere. Winner of an Aintree Grade 1 novice hurdle last April, he was beaten as the 1/7 favourite by Kappa Jy Pyke here in November, who subsequently scored at Grade 3 level when defeating subsequent Dublin Racing Festival winner Jacob's Ladder. The selection's stablemates Dr Eggman and Fishery Lane appeal most of the remainder.

Dr Eggman could beat Fishery Lane over this trip but both are relying on stablemate SALVATOR MUNDI fluffing his lines.

1st (11) (22/1 +12%)Quornofamonday |
22/1(+12%) | (11) Quornofamonday 22/1, Travelled well but did not find much after a bad error when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and with his trainer in form, but he himself is currently out of form. Hard to win with (2-26), made mistakes last time, now back on his last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (16/1 +0%)Tell Us This |
16/1(+0%) | (7) Tell Us This 16/1, Likely found the ground on the soft side when well beaten in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse last time. Effective at 2-2 1/2m, he has had quick runs over fences and could improve in handicaps when conditions suit better. Moderate seventh behind West Of Carrig at Fairyhouse; needs to raise his game considerably. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/1 -17%)West Of Carrig |
7/1(-17%) | (3) West Of Carrig 7/1, Improved on recent form when suited by a positive ride down in trip, landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Fairyhouse last time. Effective at 2m4f-3m on HY and GS, fairly treated and remains competitive. Five wins in points, improved on hunter chase form when winning a 2m5f handicap last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (11/2 +39%)Mount Frisco |
11/2(+39%) | (8) Mount Frisco 11/2, Was a bit below form when back up in trip after being taken on up front, and was comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time. Effective around 2m-2m4f, now dropped to an attractive mark and hinting at better. Both wins were gained in January 2024, best runs lately have been with this rider aboard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (20/1 -43%)Giant Haystacks |
20/1(-43%) | (10) Giant Haystacks 20/1, Made a modest chase debut when well beaten in a beginners chase at Fairyhouse last time. Effective at around 2 1/2m, but looks likely to need more time and experience over fences before showing his best. Showed good hurdles form in late-2024, tailed off on chasing debut at Fairyhouse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (15) (10/1 +44%)Mic Drop |
10/1(+44%) | (15) Mic Drop 10/1, Was outpaced and unsuited by a drop in trip when finishing down the field in a beginners chase at Clonmel most recently. Returning from a short break, effective at 2 1/2-3m and likely to need a step back up in distance over fences. Point/bumper winner, no success over hurdles, well beaten in two beginners' chases.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (20/1 +20%)Femme Magnifique |
20/1(+20%) | (4) Femme Magnifique 20/1, Made mistakes and was comfortably outclassed when held in the Carey Glass Mares Novice Chase (Grade 2) here last time. Effective at 2m-2m4f on Hy and G, but her chase debut form may flatter her. Back in handicap company after stiff tasks lately, good handicap run three starts ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (10/1 +29%)Journey So Far |
10/1(+29%) | (5) Journey So Far 10/1, Improved on his final qualifying run but looked in need of further when well beaten in a beginners chase at Fairyhouse latest. Usually held up and coming off a short break, he is effective at 2-2 1/2m and may improve over longer trips in handicaps. Modest maiden over hurdles, has been set tough tasks in beginners' chases; hard to assess. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (11/2 -22%)Kilbrin Rocco |
11/2(-22%) | (12) Kilbrin Rocco 11/2, Did it readily when landing a handicap by 2l off a 7lb lower mark at Clonmel last time, helped by his main rival falling when closing. Effective at 2m-2m4f on S and G, and arrives in good form over fences. Winning favourite on heavy ground at Clonmel last month, every chance off 7lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (14) (18/1 -64%)Tsavo Park |
18/1(-64%) | (14) Tsavo Park 18/1, Keen early and made too much use of when travelling well and doing best of those forcing the pace, finishing fourth beaten 16l in a handicap hurdle at Down Royal last time. Effective at 2m, in form and worth marking up that latest effort so not ruled out at a price on chase debut. Has shaped like a possible future winner in recent handicap hurdle runs, may adapt well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (50/1 -25%)Toofareastiswest |
50/1(-25%) | (9) Toofareastiswest 50/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Tramore on his latest start. Effective at 3m and suited by a sound surface, but his form is going the wrong way and he has something to prove at present. Pulled up on final two starts last season, same outcome on return to action at Tramore. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|DQ| (6) (17/2 +6%)River Vale |
17/2(+6%) | (6) River Vale 17/2, Scored by 2 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Naas two runs ago and then ran to form when eighth, beaten 15l, off 109 last time. Now 1lb lower, effective at 2-3m and remains in good form. Course winner over a longer trip, trip-versatile and relatively unexposed over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (4/1 +20%)Blue Hop |
4/1(+20%) | (1) Blue Hop 4/1, Had too much to do after being badly hampered early when third, beaten 10l, in a novice chase at Tramore last time. Effective at 2 1/2-3m on GS and G, on a good mark on UK hurdle form and should build on that effort up in trip. Seemed to lose confidence when badly hampered at Tramore, could be competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (10/1 +0%)Luimneach |
10/1(+0%) | (13) Luimneach 10/1, Travelled well and returned to form but was out-battled late when beaten 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark at Down Royal last time. Effective at 2-2 1/2m on S and G, and on a good mark if building on that run. Ran his best race over fences so far when second at Down Royal, holds a leading chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (33/1 +0%)Fenway Park |
33/1(+0%) | (2) Fenway Park 33/1, Had every chance but did not find much when finishing down the field in a handicap chase at Punchestown most recently. Effective around 2 1/2m on G but has yet to match his hurdle form over fences. Weak form relative to hurdles rating, no encouragement from his first handicap chase run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (18) (100/1 -257%)Set The Tone |
100/1(-257%) | (18) Set The Tone 100/1, Made too much use of when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Wexford most recently. Returning from a long layoff, effective at 2m on G, but her form has tailed off over hurdles and she has a bit to prove. Second reserve, ordinary form in handicap hurdles, lacks chasing experience, no recent run. |

TOON TOWN has been running well in similar handicaps recently and should get involved in an open-looking handicap. He finished narrowly behind recent Clonmel winner Kilbrin Rocco in November but is now 10lb better off with that rival. Ex-hunter chaser West Of Carrig scored on handicap chase debut last month and is respected, despite a 6lb higher mark. River Vale won here on his last appearance over fences in November and is capable of being in the mix.

A course bumper for Willie Mullins early in her career, FEMME MAGNIFIQUE is suggested as an each-way option in an open race.

1st (12) (15/8 +16%)Laurets D'estruval |
15/8(+16%) | (12) Laurets D'estruval 15/8, Very promising on stable debut when second, beaten 4 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle at Limerick, just flattening out late after a lay-off. Ex-French with a top yard, he should come on for that run and will be winning soon. Runner-up in sole French outing in 2024 and at Limerick on Irish debut, strong contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (19) (22/1 -83%)Jet To Monte Carlo |
22/1(-83%) | (19) Jet To Monte Carlo 22/1, Made too much use of when showing minor promise on debut before finishing well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (28/1 -75%)Playtime |
28/1(-75%) | (10) Playtime 28/1, Finished below his debut form when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time. A Flat winner who is effective at the trip, he may have more to offer over hurdles but looks one for handicaps. Midfield in two strong maidens, Flat win was on good ground, not sure to enjoy it soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (14) (11/1 +0%)Maxfort |
11/1(+0%) | (14) Maxfort 11/1, Made a promising start when third, beaten 5l, in a maiden hurdle at Cork on debut. Effective around 2m1f, he should improve with that experience. 5l third behind the odds-on Willie Mullins-trained The Reverend at Cork stayed on well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

50/1(-79%) | (13) Mart Lane 50/1, Ran to form when finishing down the field in a 4yo bumper at Fairyhouse last time. Returns from a short break, but his debut form has taken knocks and he needs to show more. Well beaten fifth on debut in a Gowran maiden hurdle, no improvement in a bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (28/1 -180%)Jerry From Kerry |
28/1(-180%) | (4) Jerry From Kerry 28/1, Made his move too soon and stopped quickly when well beaten in a bumper at Leopardstown last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

150/1(-20%) | (20) Convincing 150/1, Failed to build on his debut when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time. A Flat maiden effective at shorter distances, he needs to show more to feature over hurdles. Second reserve, placed form on the Flat, rated a modest 67, no threat in two hurdle runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (18) (250/1 -25%)Barrowline |
250/1(-25%) | (18) Barrowline 250/1, Never involved when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel last time. Likely one for longer trips further down the line. Triple-figure odds for three starts over hurdles, has run accordingly, safe to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (28/1 -133%)Good Show |
28/1(-133%) | (3) Good Show 28/1, Raced a bit freely and finished below form when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at Nottingham last time. Returns from a break and useful over middle to staying distances on Flat so not ruled out if fit for hurdle debut. Won twice early in Flat career for Keith Dalgleish, never found his best form last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (15) (40/1 -60%)Papanell |
40/1(-60%) | (15) Papanell 40/1, Ran to form when third, beaten 9 1/2l, in a bumper at Killarney last time. Consistent in bumpers and effective at the trip, he should improve now switched to hurdles. Made the frame in bumpers at Galway and Killarney last summer, ground was good both times. |

22/1(-38%) | (16) Premier Rogue 22/1, Finished below his debut form when third, beaten 56l, in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. 4/1(+27%) | (1) A Piece Of Heaven 4/1, Ran to form when just tiring late on his return from a break, finishing third beaten 6 1/2l in a Conditions Race (Amateurs) at Leopardstown. Trained by a leading course yard, wears a tongue-tie for the first time, enjoys making the running and useful Flat stayer good get involved on hurdle debut. Useful stayer on the Flat, ran only once last year, makes hurdling debut at age of eight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (6) (33/1 -83%)Mont St Michel |
33/1(-83%) | (6) Mont St Michel 33/1, Made mistakes but showed minor promise when down the field on debut in a good maiden hurdle at Leopardstown. A useful stayer on the Flat and effective at the trip, he has more to come over hurdles. Ex-Ballydoyle, 93 on Flat, thrown in at the deep end for hurdling debut at Leopardstown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (9) (200/1 -60%)Ocean Of Dreams |
200/1(-60%) | (9) Ocean Of Dreams 200/1, Never threatened when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time, continuing a run of poor form. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (7) (250/1 -67%)Navagio |
250/1(-67%) | (7) Navagio 250/1, Never involved when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time. Was in decent form on the Flat last year but has stamina to prove over hurdles. Three-time Flat winner on yielding/soft, has struggled in two outings over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (2) (150/1 -88%)Charlie Brow'n |
150/1(-88%) | (2) Charlie Brow'n 150/1, Ran to form when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Galway last time. 14f Flat winner returns from a break and may just need this on hurdle debut. Effective at a modest level on Flat, won a 23-runner handicap over 1m6 last October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (8) (125/1 -89%)Northern Ruler |
125/1(-89%) | (8) Northern Ruler 125/1, May have found conditions too testing when finishing down the field in a handicap at Galway last time. Usually held up, he returns from a break and is difficult to fancy. AW winner for Karl Burke, regressive in handicaps for this yard; no hurdling experience. |

LE LABO won a course bumper last March and has been unlucky in two hurdle runs. A first-flight casualty here in November, he was leading when exiting at the last at Cork in December, with the winner, Kazansky, landing a Grade 2 subsequently and finishing second in a Grade 1 last Monday. Laurets d'Estruval was weak enough in the betting when finishing second to a useful winner over Christmas and is capable of stepping forward. Bulgaden Castle caught the eye here last month and appeals most of the remainder.

The vote goes to LE LABO (nap) who was set to beat the smart Kazanksy when falling at the last at Cork.

6/4(+86%) | (10) Powerful Paddy 6/4, Outclassed when comfortably held in a bumper at Punchestown last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (16/5 -28%)Vitorio Piel |
16/5(-28%) | (1) Vitorio Piel 16/5, Improved up in trip when second, beaten 1 1/2l, in an auction hurdle at Punchestown last time. Off a short break and effective at 2m to 2 1/2m. Bumper form has been franked and more is expected over hurdles. Much improved on second hurdles start, has to give weight away but he's a big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (13/8 -266%)Fou De Toi |
13/8(-266%) | (7) Fou De Toi 13/8, Very promising debut when third, beaten 4l, in a juvenile hurdle at Auteuil. Absent for a very lengthy period since, but French form has been boosted at Listed level and he has joined top connections so looks the likeliest winner. French recruit, holds Grade 1 entry, returns from long absence but should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (28/1 -75%)Better Times |
28/1(-75%) | (2) Better Times 28/1, Improved from debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and latest form has been boosted. Needs to progress again to feature. Better effort on latest at Fairyhouse in first-time hood (retained), more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (14/1 +36%)Leni's Law |
14/1(+36%) | (8) Leni's Law 14/1, Promising debut at a huge price when fourth, beaten 26l, in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse. Effective at 2 1/2m and debut form has been franked, so could progress a little. Ran on nicely for remote fourth on debut at Fairyhouse, could stay on late for a place. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (125/1 +17%)Brave Endeavour |
125/1(+17%) | (5) Brave Endeavour 125/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Listowel last time after a very lengthy absence. Point winner but has all to prove over hurdles following that poor return. PU on hurdles bow in a Listowel maiden when last seen in June 2024, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

200/1(-100%) | (3) Bohemian Bay 200/1, Modest effort when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel last time. Showed minor promise in points but may need more time and further than 2m to show his best over hurdles. Long odds and tailed off in both maiden hurdles, steps up in trip, hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (100/1 +0%)Fenian Maxios |
100/1(+0%) | (6) Fenian Maxios 100/1, Maxios gelding who is a half-brother to Shesabreeze, who was moderate over 20f. Makes debut here and looks an unlikely winner on pedigree and initial expectations. Maxios gelding, dam point winner, best watched on debut unless market speaks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) (100/1 +0%)Bon Bon Fizz |
100/1(+0%) | (4) Bon Bon Fizz 100/1, Fell in a maiden point at Dromahane last time. Previously showed nothing in points and has plenty to find on what has been seen so far. Beaten when falling at the last in Dromahane point, best watched on Rules' debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (150/1 0%)Nukie's Artic |
150/1(0%) | (9) Nukie's Artic 150/1, Up in trip when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Cork most recently and probably did not stay. Returning from a long layoff and yet to show anything of note. Soundly beaten twice and pulled up in three starts over hurdles, lacks a run, passed over. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (200/1 -33%)Woodie Campelltown |
200/1(-33%) | (13) Woodie Campelltown 200/1, Green and made mistakes when well beaten on a modest debut in a graduation hurdle at Punchestown. A longer trip should suit but significant improvement is required. Heavy defeats in Wexford bumper and Punchestown maiden hurdle, others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (15) (150/1 +0%)La Rocca Lass |
150/1(+0%) | (15) La Rocca Lass 150/1, Stopped quickly when down the field in a bumper at Leopardstown last time. Effective at 2m but arrives out of form and needs a marked turnaround. 0-7 in bumpers, tailed off at huge odds both maiden hurdles, unlikely to be the answer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (14) (150/1 +0%)Clarin Breeze |
150/1(+0%) | (14) Clarin Breeze 150/1, Found little when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Cork most recently. Effective at 2m but has plenty to find based on current evidence. Unlikely winner based on three maiden hurdle runs at Cork, look elsewhere. |

French import FOU DE TOI commands maximum respect on Irish debut for Willie Mullins. His sole start in France saw him finish third in a conditions' hurdle at Auteuil in May 2024 and the two horses in front of him have won at Listed level since then. He holds an entry in the Turners at the Cheltenham Festival. Vitorio Piel has had three runs to date, all at Punchestown, where he landed a bumper and was runner-up in a maiden hurdle when last seen in November. That form brings him into contention. There was merit in Leni's Law's opening fourth at Fairyhouse and Puma's Dream's fourth in Naas.

1st (3) (10/3 +26%)Timeless Treaty |
10/3(+26%) | (3) Timeless Treaty 10/3, Likely found the ground too soft when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Navan last time. Effective at 2-2 1/2m on a sound surface, with form boosted at Listed level and fairly treated on summer form. Conditions a concern. Has failed to deliver on expectations in handicaps, needs to run up to his mark here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (10/3 +72%)Sunny South West |
10/3(+72%) | (5) Sunny South West 10/3, Tired late when stepped up in trip and needed the run when beaten 8l in a handicap hurdle at Leopardstown last time. Had been in good form prior, is effective at 2m on good ground and looks fairly treated. Smart bumper form including a defeat of Doctor Steinberg, not yet as good over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (15/2 +46%)Heron's Butler |
15/2(+46%) | (6) Heron's Butler 15/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 4l, in a novice hurdle at Fairyhouse on his latest start. Effective from 2m to 2m7f on good or yielding ground, is progressive and probably sets the standard on ratings. Promoted course maiden winner, has run well in novice races here and at Fairyhouse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/2 -64%)Murat |
9/2(-64%) | (1) Murat 9/2, Improved for debut experience when winning a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown by a nose last time beating a well touted rival. Effective at around 2m, the dual bumper winner is progressing over hurdles and looks a player up in class. Capitalised on a mishap to El Cairos to win a maiden, big chance if he handles the ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (11/4 -22%)Gin Tonic |
11/4(-22%) | (4) Gin Tonic 11/4, Improved from his debut when second, beaten 1 1/2l, pulling clear with a useful winner in a novice hurdle at Fairyhouse. Effective at 2 1/2m on yielding or good ground, with debut form nothing special but progressing and represents in form stable. Stepped up from a maiden win when second to a progressive type at Fairyhouse, respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (13/2 -95%)Welonlyhavedone |
13/2(-95%) | (2) Welonlyhavedone 13/2, Travelled well and returned to form when third, beaten 4 1/4l, in a novice hurdle at Navan on his latest run. Effective at 2-2 1/2m on good or yielding ground and back in form. Two failures to complete after a Galway maiden win, Navan third provides some reassurance. |

GIN TONIC represents an in-form stable and this is a good trip for him. He won his maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Wexford in October and the runner-up has done plenty for the form in landing a maiden at Naas before finishing a close fourth in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham. Welonlyhavedone is a strong-travelling sort who should be involved at the business end with a rating of 130. Murat may have been a fortunate winner of a Leopardstown maiden hurdle over Christmas, but he did show battling qualities which will stand to him up in trip. Timeless Treaty and Sunny South West will have their supporters in a competitive heat.

The beneficiary of the fall of El Cairos at Leopardstown, MURAT could be in a slightly higher league than these rivals

1st (6) (8/1 +20%)Aine's Lad |
8/1(+20%) | (6) Aine's Lad 8/1, Better effort up in trip when second, beaten 7 1/2l, in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time. Effective over 2m to 3m but not one to rely on building on that revival. Second run back from an absence when runner-up at Punchestown; winner did it easily. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (22/1 -22%)Milanaway |
22/1(-22%) | (8) Milanaway 22/1, Won by 2l off a 4lb lower mark at Punchestown three starts ago. Stopped quickly after a bad error when pulled up last time, having done too much too soon. Remains well treated but unreliable. Pulled up last time at Gowran; only 1-28 overall and she's worth taking on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (13) (28/1 -27%)Cordal Boy |
28/1(-27%) | (13) Cordal Boy 28/1, Bled when well down the field in a handicap hurdle at Killarney last time. Returns from a break and is effective at 2m4f, but has yet to show anything of note. Six defeats include three handicaps (2m6f-3m) in which his closest finish was 22l. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (18) (12/1 +40%)Fortunate Outcome |
12/1(+40%) | (18) Fortunate Outcome 12/1, Flattened out late up in trip after making a big move when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time. Effective at 2m2f but has yet to show much overall. Ran a little better in a first-time hood at Punchestown but that headgear is left off now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (14) (15/2 +25%)Rebel Cowgirl |
15/2(+25%) | (14) Rebel Cowgirl 15/2, Ran to form when 7l third in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time. Effective around 2m4f and has a chance if able to build on her latest couple of starts. Competitive last twice but running style casts doubts over her staying this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (15) (25/1 +0%)He Fitz In |
25/1(+0%) | (15) He Fitz In 25/1, Had every chance but ran below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Stays 3m well but has been inconsistent of late. Hasn't shaped like a winner waiting to happen returned to hurdles the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (40/1 -100%)Walkmethroughit |
40/1(-100%) | (11) Walkmethroughit 40/1, Ran to form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Limerick last time. Now moves into handicaps and looks the type to do better in this sphere with that experience behind him. Poor pointer; no surprise that he couldn't get competitive in maidens; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (28/1 +30%)Island Mccoo |
28/1(+30%) | (12) Island Mccoo 28/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase here last time. Effective at around 2 1/2m but inconsistent, though now back on a winning mark if able to rediscover some form. Has struggled since winning a handicap chase off this mark last April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (15/2 +6%)Roc My Haarth |
15/2(+6%) | (4) Roc My Haarth 15/2, Below form when well down the field in a stronger handicap hurdle at Limerick last time. Effective over 2 1/2m to 3m and suited by cut, with recent runs having been franked. Disappointing last time but second the run before and has a big effort in him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (7/1 -8%)Empire Walk |
7/1(-8%) | (1) Empire Walk 7/1, Improved when second, beaten 8l, in a maiden hurdle at Naas last time. Returns from a short break and has been effective over 2m to 2m4f with cut. Should progress again on the back of that effort. Keeping-on second in a 2m3f maiden and he's bred for this far; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (10/1 +0%)Hello Johnjoe |
10/1(+0%) | (9) Hello Johnjoe 10/1, Had too much to do in a race dominated from the front when beaten 1 1/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Clonmel last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and may improve for this bit further. Closing third to The Little Yank at Clonmel; now sent further and may improve again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (10/1 +9%)Snow Punt |
10/1(+9%) | (5) Snow Punt 10/1, Travelled well and improved when second, beaten 1 1/4l, in a beginners chase at Cork, possibly winning but for a late error. Effective at 2 1/2m, though a maiden becoming frustrating. Does return to hurdling off a generous mark and could go well. Back from a break with respectable chase runs; has run well off this hurdle mark before. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (11/4 +54%)Kanog Bay |
11/4(+54%) | (10) Kanog Bay 11/4, Improved down in grade when landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off a 10lb lower mark at Fairyhouse last time. Effective at 2m4f and has been progressive, with a bit more to come. Hit with a 10lb rise for the Fairyhouse victory but he looks on the upgrade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (17) (16/1 +20%)Blossom De Mai |
16/1(+20%) | (17) Blossom De Mai 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Effective over 2m4f to 3m and had been in decent form prior to that latest run. Possibilities on some of his form but last two runs have been particularly underwhelming. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (28/1 -180%)The Little Yank |
28/1(-180%) | (3) The Little Yank 28/1, Travelled well and returned to form down in trip when landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Clonmel last time. Effective at 3m and remains well treated on old form. Recorded an eighth career success on his return to hurdling at Clonmel; up 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (33/1 +0%)Justicialism |
33/1(+0%) | (7) Justicialism 33/1, Made too much use of when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time after a short break, but current form leaves him with something to prove. Back-to-back hurdle wins came in 2022 and he's struggling to recapture that level of form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (16) (66/1 -65%)Mister Rockefeller |
66/1(-65%) | (16) Mister Rockefeller 66/1, Made too much use of up in trip and failed to stay when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel last time. Cheekpieces go on for the first time, but he has yet to show anything. Not a bad run on handicap debut when beaten about 15l behind The Little Yank. |

KANOG BAY appeals as a horse that is going to improve with racing. He made the breakthrough over 2m4f at Fairyhouse last month and this extra distance isn't expected to inconvenience him. Empire Walk was gambled on at Naas and made up a lot of ground on the run-in to finish second without laying a glove on the winner. Based on that effort, he ought to appreciate this longer trip. Snow Punt reverts to hurdles after a decent runner-up berth in a beginners' chase at Cork while Roc My Haarth's form has been a bit in and out, but he is capable of banking a cheque. The Little Yank and Aine's Lad shouldn't be ruled out.

After finishing strongly for second in his final maiden and bred for this longer distance, EMPIRE WALK could provide the answer.

1st (5) (10/1 +60%)Leonard Vallis |
10/1(+60%) | (5) Leonard Vallis 10/1, Made a modest bumper debut when finishing down the field at Navan last time. The trainer is in form, he returns from a short break, has been effective at 2m and hurdles form suggests he should be capable of better than shown on debut. Fine second over hurdles on debut, disappointed lin bumper last time, hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (3/1 -9%)Thinkitdontjinxit |
3/1(-9%) | (9) Thinkitdontjinxit 3/1, Made a promising start when an 8l winner in a maiden point at Ballycrystal on debut. A point winner who has joined a top yard and looks a likely type based on that initial effort. Vadamos gelding, bought for 185,000GBP after easy point win, of obvious interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/2 +9%)Barnpark |
5/2(+9%) | (1) Barnpark 5/2, Made a very promising debut when a 4 1/2l winner in a maiden point at Boulta. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time, returns from a short break, has been effective at 3m in points and brings plenty of potential to rules racing. Form of November point win boosted, tongue-tie on for Rules' debut, interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (200/1 -150%)Dlightofdsun |
200/1(-150%) | (12) Dlightofdsun 200/1, Failed to build on her debut when well beaten in a mares' bumper at Cork last time. Has been effective at 2m but needs to find plenty more on what she has shown so far. No impact at big odds in bumpers at Clonmel and Cork, hard to make a case for on form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (33/1 +18%)Lucky Vick |
33/1(+18%) | (7) Lucky Vick 33/1, 3,000 euros Lucky Speed gelding; half-brother to Mr Puck, very useful at 25f; hood first time; probaby best watched on debut. Stoutly bred Lucky Speed gelding, may need further than this in time, hooded, watch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (10/1 +44%)Tinto De Verano |
10/1(+44%) | (10) Tinto De Verano 10/1, Improved for debut experience when settling much better and finishing fourth, beaten 11l, in a bumper at Leopardstown last time. Has been effective at 2m and that run suggested progression. Green when fourth on debut, beaten 11l at Leopardstown latest, needs to improve further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (16/1 -60%)Bravewave |
16/1(-60%) | (2) Bravewave 16/1, 16,000 euros Silverwave gelding. Half sister showed little in France but with shrewd yard so worth a market check. Silverwave gelding E16,000 3yo, dam placed in French hurdle, market best guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (10/3 +5%)Greenhills Of Cork |
10/3(+5%) | (4) Greenhills Of Cork 10/3, Forced to switch but made a very promising debut when 4 1/2l fourth in a 4yo bumper at Listowel. Trained by a top course yard, returns from a break, has been effective at 2m and his debut form was franked at Listed level, so should progress. Good fourth at Listowel on debut, form has worked out, go well if handling softer ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (50/1 +0%)Yanure |
50/1(+0%) | (11) Yanure 50/1, Showed promise on debut despite being well beaten in a bumper at Leopardstown on his only start. That initial effort suggested he should improve with experience. Not a bad introduction when midfield at Leopardstown, big step forward required here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (11/1 -83%)Drombane |
11/1(-83%) | (3) Drombane 11/1, Showed up well for a long way on debut when well beaten in a bumper at Punchestown on his only start. Returns from a short break, has been effective at 2m, knew his job first time and should progress a little. Nicely bred but disappointed on debut at Punchestown, likely capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (50/1 +24%)No Time To Think |
50/1(+24%) | (13) No Time To Think 50/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability. Returns from a short break after showing nothing in bumpers and needs a marked improvement to feature. Doyen mare, sister to Grade 2 bumper winner, poor form in points, watch on Rules' debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/1 +31%)O'callaghan Can |
11/1(+31%) | (8) O'callaghan Can 11/1, Jet Away gelding out of a dam who was useful from 14f to 15f winning on the Flat and over hurdles. Likely to need the experience on debut. Jet Away gelding, dam Flat and 2m hurdle winner, yard's first bumper runner, watch. |

This could prove to be an above-average bumper in time. GREENHILLS OF CORK catches the eye after a promising fourth on debut in a Listowel bumper last September. The fact that the three horses in front of him have all delivered since then, including the runner-up in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham, really strengthens the form. Gavin Cromwell introduces Barnpark, who won a point-to-point for Ian McCarthy. That race has thrown up winners, so a big run wouldn't be surprising. Similarly, Thinkitdontjinxit has switched to Gordon Elliott for his racecourse career after an easy point-to-point success at Ballycrystal and is another danger. Drombane and Bravewave are others that could get in the mix.

BARNPARK's Boulta win received a big boost at Southwell on Monday and he is taken to make a winning start under Rules

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
