ENDORSEMENT ran a nice race behind stablemate Benvenuto Cellini on his introduction at Killarney and can step forward to open his account. The Wootton Bassett colt was no match for the odds-on winner that day, but showed plenty of promise himself. He can confirm his superiority over the third-placed Limestone, who would appear to be Joseph O'Brien's main hope on jockey bookings. Ballydoyle are represented by another horse who showed a nice bit on debut in Christmas Day. He was a promising third at Galway and is another who should improve from the experience.

A hot maiden with ENDORSEMENT the pick in what's likely to prove an informative race

GIOVANNI GIORGIO was well fancied on his second outing at Roscommon and just lost out in a cracking finish to previous winner Check This Out. That was a step forward from his first run at the Curragh and the Persian King colt looks the one to beat now back in maiden company. The others to have run need to improve to figure. Anushka is interesting on her official debut. She was third in a barrier trial back in May and the horse who was fourth in that, Dial Me In, won at Leopardstown. Colin Keane rides newcomer Madbadanddangerous for Noel Meade and he's one to note in the market.

Of those to have run GIOVANNI GIORGIO looks a standout, having been narrowly beaten over this trip last time

Held by Bravais on a couple of runs this season but don't rule out.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

With a strong pace virtually assured, the Ger Lyons-trained BRAVAIS can pick up the pieces late on. A winner here back in April, the gelding reportedly bled when never able to land a blow at Galway last time. Provided he is back to his best, the five-year-old will be hard to beat in a race that should be run to suit. Hurricane Ivor, who was less than a length behind the selection in that aforementioned race in the spring, has every chance at these weights. A prominent racer, he is likely to be on the front end here from the off. Mississippi River is another with leading claims, as long as he doesn't get into a battle for the lead.

Bravais and Hurricane Ivor reoppose again but preference is for the 3yo MISSISSIPPI RIVER

16:00 Tipperary (Class 1) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

The progressive COPACABANA SANDS can complete a three-timer. A Listed winner at Naas in May, the Michael O'Callaghan-trained filly stepped up to this grade when following up at Leopardstown and is hard to get away from. UK raider Celestial Orbit was runner-up in the Nell Gwyn prior to struggling in the French Guineas. However, now eased in class and dropped back in trip, the Ollie Sangster-trained filly has to be a contender. Galway handicap winner Princess Child will need to improve again, but has to be respected.

Progressive in winning at Naas and Leopardstown, COPACABANA SANDS may have too much firepower for Celestial Orbit

16:30 Tipperary (Class 1) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

TWO STARS can make a successful return under Joey Sheridan. A lightly-raced gelding, the Fozzy Stack-trained five-year-old had been ultra-consistent in handicaps before stepping up to win a Listed race at Naas in April. Although absent since, this progressive sprinter has won off similar breaks in the past. Well drawn towards the stands side, he should get a nice tow into the race. Powerful Nation needs to put a disappointing Curragh run behind him, but has every chance if doing so. The Andrew Slattery-trained colt remains an unexposed sprinter at this level. US import Fandom is of obvious interest on his stable debut for Joseph O'Brien.

If forgiven a tame effort in a Group 2 race at the Curragh in July, POWERFUL NATION has a strong chance in this grade

JASMINE AFFANALIS is a half-sister to her yard's juvenile winner Gavoo and, crucially given a wet forecast, handles easy ground. She met trouble at Limerick in July, with that run coming between two useful runner-up efforts. She is up another 2lb, but her rider claims 7lb. Shuyak is headstrong but although her form figures are modest, she has shown promise. She met traffic at Down Royal in June and hung badly at Dundalk the following month, but was better behaved when ridden from off the pace at Gowran. She can progress stepping up in trip but is unproven on soft. Petite Madame finished second in an ordinary handicap here recently.

With two seconds to her name this season JASMINE AFFANALIS makes most appeal in a race of modest standard

Polish import GLADY EAGLE debuts for Willie Mullins and has a proven ability to handle soft going. Irish-bred and out of a German Listed winner, the entire's form is difficult to decode but he has won twice on easy ground. While tailed off on his latest run at Sluzewiec in July 2024, he races for Hipop De Loire's owner and Colin Keane is a notable booking. Soft-ground performer Plunkett Street returns following a midsummer break and was just denied in an ordinary C&D handicap in May. Lady Kai unseated her rider leaving the stalls at Leopardstown and although she has proven form at this level, she would prefer good ground.

There is some merit in opposing Glady Eagle with PLUNKETT STREET who should be suited by any easing in the ground

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
