THE BLAGGARD didn't look the most straight forward of horses when soundly beaten on his first two starts before attracting the attention of the stewards when putting in a much improved display at Listowel last month, staying on well into fourth behind stablemate Kingdom Calling. Polly Poppins has shown promise when racing keenly on all three outings including when finding no extra from two out over C&D last month and looks capable of winning over hurdles if learning to settle. Point-to-point winner Shantou Princess is another to consider while Finnicky Filly would be a threat if recapturing the form of her fourth at Tipperary back in May.

THE BLAGGARD could have more to offer on the back of his eye-catching fourth at Listowel recently and gets the vote. Gordon Elliott's Spinola Bay has the potential to leave his Roscommon hurdle debut run behind and is second choice ahead of last month's course fourth Polly Poppins.

An eyecatcher on return at Listowel last time when still looking green, THE BLAGGARD can improve enough to take this

MAGGIE WALSH gets the vote having won twice over hurdles already this year including over C&D in June. She subsequently ran well off this rating at Kilbeggan and takes a drop in class after finishing in rear behind Lot Of Joy at Gowran. Hollow Spark makes a quick reappearance under a 7lb penalty after opening her account at Gowran last Friday but is not the most consistent of performers and this softer ground is a concern. Stablemate Thefaithfulindian is best with plenty of cut while Rene Artois was absent for a year before a couple of recent outings and showed promise in a similar event at Gowran last week. She's On Line was also far from disgraced recently at Killarney.

HOLLOW SPARK built on the promise of her previous run when scoring at Gowran last week and a 7 lb penalty may not prevent the follow up. Be Fierce and She's On Line should also go well.

Hollow Spark has to be respected but preference is for BE FIERCE who ran well at Kilbeggan last time and has placed form here.

SAVANTE looked a useful mare when landing a Punchestown bumper on debut in June. The form of that race has received a number of boosts recently with the third, Aruntothequeen, landing a Listed bumper at Gowran last week and the fourth (Sansrisk) easily winning a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse on Monday. She subsequently disappointed at Killarney but hopefully can bounce back switching to hurdles. Cool Park rates an obvious threat and may have found 3m too far when third to World Of Fortunes (won again since) at Wexford in August, while Love Like This has plenty of experience over hurdles and was placed again at Killarney last Sunday.

COOL PARK made a promising enough start over hurdles when third at Wexford nearly 6 weeks ago and looks the one to beat with improvement on the cards. Savante disappointed at Killarney last time but created a favourable impression on her debut at Punchestown and is an interesting hurdling debutante in the context of this race. Jana Colombe ran to only a modest level in a Sligo bumper but could show more now switched to obstacles.

Impressive in a decent Punchestown bumper, SAVANTE bombed out next time but is taken to leave that run behind on hurdling debut

TA NA LA was placed numerous times both on the Flat and over hurdles before scoring in good style over this trip at Bellewstown. The Ted Walsh-trained mare again advertised her claims when finishing strongly over an inadequate 2m here last month. Rampere West rates a threat having won over 2m4f at Wexford, while Loup De Tallane beat Beechroad Winnie by eight lengths over a similar trip at Kilbeggan last month but exited at the first subsequently over fences at Listowel. Reflectionist easily won twice over 2m3f last year but was then absent for 14 months until soundly beaten at the Galway Festival.

TA NA LA arrives in the form of her life and having shaped well with a return to 2½m in mind when runner-up here last month, Ted Walsh's 5-y-o earns the vote at the expense of Rampere West, who built on earlier promise upped in trip to cause a surprise on handicap debut just less than 6 weeks ago and can kick on again despite a hefty rise. Reflectionist and Loup de Tallane can do battle for third.

A dual Flat winner for Peter Schiergen in Germany, SERIENMOND will need to settle better to get the trip but could be on a nice mark

PRINCE OF AIR has gained both career wins at Tramore including over C&D this spring and has been generally consistent since. The selection beat all bar Must Be Dreaming here last time, while Itsalonglongroad is another well suited by this tight circuit winning here four times and is certainly at his best going right-handed. Lake Chad has won twice here over fences, but both came over longer trips including an easy victory over 2m6f in August. Rusheen won a 2m4f hurdle on testing ground at Fairyhouse last winter and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour switching to fences on his reappearance.

Preference is for PRINCE OF AIR, who has a fine record at this course and arrives on the back of a good second in a stronger contest here last month. Tomas O Maille and Itsalonglongroad are feared most.

This trip is shorter than ideal for the in-form LAKE CHAD but he has gone close over 2m a few times and goes well at this venue

BIGIRA had Doyen For A Drink (won last time at Cartmel) over five lengths behind when taking a 3m handicap hurdle at Wexford this summer and has shown promise when switched to fences on her latest two starts. She also has the benefit of course experience having been fourth to The Friday Man over 2m7f last month. Jouster and Tuckmill have both won handicap hurdles off a mark of 94 this year and the latter was only caught close home last time on his chase debut at Downpatrick. Ballybrack Wood was second on his only point-to-point start and has also shown some promise over hurdles.

TUCKMILL is an improved performer in recent months and can build on his Downpatrick chase debut second and go one better now. Bigira has taken well to fences the last twice and is second choice ahead of Henry de Bromhead chase newcomer Ballybrack Wood.

Not many readily ruled out; MICHAL had a good first run over fences here in May and can put that experience to good use

AMBOYNA appears to have found a good opportunity to open her account. The daughter of Mount Nelson has been placed on the latest three of her four bumper starts and handled soft ground at Listowel last time when third behind fancied newcomer Amen Kate. San Franco looks the chief threat with Jody Townend a significant booking. He was set to finish second behind the useful Zariygann when a last flight faller at Roscommon and has also shown promise in bumpers including when third at Ballinrobe. The remainder with form make limited appeal and any market move for newcomer Kared'as De Cougny would be interesting.

This looks a weak bumper and could be a good chance for AMBOYNA to get off the mark. San Franco is the obvious threat unless the betting speaks in the favour of one or more of the newcomers.

Though his best run came when falling over hurdles at Roscommon, SAN FRANCO looks to have enough ability to win.
Ths is the racecard key.
