1st (9) (10/3 +17%)Rukaana |
10/3(+17%) | (9) Rukaana 10/3, Disappointing when back from a couple of good Flat runs, comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Taunton last time. Suited by 2m and acts on soft and good; fair mark on spring form but something to prove after that poor return to hurdling. Would probably have preferred a stronger pace to chase when sixth at Taunton last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/1 +36%)El Gavilan |
9/1(+36%) | (7) El Gavilan 9/1, Raced wide at a sharp track and was well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time and trainer is in form; effective at 2m but appears out of form. Placed in three juvenile hurdles last season but struggling in handicaps this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (22/1 +0%)Linden Lane |
22/1(+0%) | (2) Linden Lane 22/1, Outpaced and needed a stiffer test when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell (2m1f) last time. Probably needs further than 2m and, returning from a break, may just need the run. Always behind on latest outing in September and now 0-8 over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (8/1 +0%)Midnight View |
8/1(+0%) | (5) Midnight View 8/1, Ran to current form when third, beaten 14l, in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow most recently. Effective at 2m and acts on good ground; still early days but has plenty to prove in handicaps. Pulled up in first two handicaps but fared much better when third at Ludlow last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (3/1 +85%)Away For The Night |
3/1(+85%) | (4) Away For The Night 3/1, Ran poorly when tried in a tongue-tie and well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Southwell last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (10/1 +17%)This Sway |
10/1(+17%) | (3) This Sway 10/1, Produced a much better effort back down in trip when fourth, beaten 12l, in a maiden hurdle at Southwell last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good; showed promise latest and mark looks fair. Pulled up on first two hurdle starts but last month's Southwell fourth was much better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (28/1 -409%)Delta Blues Belle |
28/1(-409%) | (1) Delta Blues Belle 28/1, Outclassed and looked in need of a stiffer test when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle at Cheltenham most recently. A 3m point winner who likely wants further than 2m and could do better now handicapping. Well beaten in three novice hurdles but ought to be more competitive in this lowly grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (8/1 -220%)Cumhacht |
8/1(-220%) | (8) Cumhacht 8/1, Up in trip and didn't stay on rain-softened ground when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster latest. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good to firm; a consistent maiden until that effort where excuses can be made. Found 2m3f too taxing last time; good chance if judged on earlier Ffos Las second. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (13/2 -8%)Flagon Dry |
13/2(-8%) | (10) Flagon Dry 13/2, Probably ran to form when fourth, beaten 27l, in a juvenile hurdle at Kempton latest. Effective at 2m over jumps and acts on good ground; faces a tough task at the weights. Fair Flat racer who has made the frame in three good-ground juvenile hurdles this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (16/1 +11%)Saucats |
16/1(+11%) | (11) Saucats 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Exeter latest. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good; fair mark on French form but struggling to show much for new yard. Third at 40-1 two runs ago and had possible ground excuse last time but others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (25/1 -79%)The Padster |
25/1(-79%) | (6) The Padster 25/1, A bit keen but ran to form when fourth, beaten 23l, in a novice hurdle at Exeter latest. Returns from a short break; suited by a sound surface and may stay beyond 2m. Needs more experience but a major player. Headstrong and showed only minor promise in his qualifying races; handicap debut today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

FLAGON DRY gets a nice weight-for-age allowance and can make it count. A Southwell maiden winner on the level, he has made only a fair start to his hurdling career, although he did occupy the runner-up berth at Wetherby and could be fairly treated now stepping into a handicap. Much better is also expected from Delta Blues Belle now she is out of novice company, while Cumhacht will be dangerous if judged on his Ffos Las second rather than his subsequent heavy Doncaster defeat.

Second to a progressive rival on slower-than-ideal ground two runs ago, CUMHACHT is selected to rebound from a lesser effort last time.

1st (1) (5/6 +85%)Fountains Blenhein |
5/6(+85%) | (1) Fountains Blenhein 5/6, Ran to form when finishing a 5l third in a novice hurdle at Plumpton (2 1/2m) on his latest start. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, acts on good to soft and good ground, and remains a consistent performer. Wide-margin winner on hurdle debut; didn't run badly when turned over at short odds since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (13/2 +24%)Assertive Walk |
13/2(+24%) | (3) Assertive Walk 13/2, Bit green under pressure but made a promising start when third, beaten 7l, in a bumper at Chepstow on debut. Returns from a long absence. Placed in Chepstow bumper on debut in November 2024 but not seen since; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (16/1 -33%)Ignore The Door |
16/1(-33%) | (2) Ignore The Door 16/1, Stopped quickly under a penalty when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Chepstow last time. Effective over 2m7f, acts on good ground, though the form of his debut win has taken some knocks. Won run-of-the-mill 2m7f novice on rules debut but latest run was disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (13/8 -144%)Pottersville |
13/8(-144%) | (5) Pottersville 13/8, Won easily when improving up in trip and dropping in class to land a novice hurdle at Exeter by 24l last time. Effective from 2m4f to 3m, acts on good to soft and good ground, and continues to progress. Quickly bounced back from disappointing hurdle debut with easy win at Exeter; big player. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Fountains Blenhein hung away his chance when turned over at odds-on at Plumpton and must concede weight to a couple of promising novices. Pottersville banished a terrible jumping debut at Newbury to the memory when demolishing her Exeter rivals, but a chance is taken on the fitness of ASSERTIVE WALK. The O'Neill's five-year-old made a debut full of promise when third at Chepstow in November 2024 and can play his part in his yard's recent resurgence.

Impressive when winning against her own sex at Exeter in November, POTTERSVILLE looks a very good prospect and gets the nod.

(1) (10/3 +17%)Game Colours |
10/3(+17%) | (1) Game Colours 10/3, Ran to form when beaten 4l off a 2lb lower mark at Cheltenham last time, seeing out the trip well after doing plenty early. Effective from 2m to 2½m on soft or good ground; generally consistent and unexposed at this trip. Just 1-10 over hurdles but gave excellent account when placed at Cheltenham last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (7/2 -100%)Bobbi With An I |
7/2(-100%) | (7) Bobbi With An I 7/2, Game when beaten 1l off a 4lb lower mark at Wincanton last time. Effective around 2½m but will need a bit more to defy this higher mark. Kept on well for second at Wincanton last time and still has low mileage; likely contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (9/2 +44%)Lets Go To Vegas |
9/2(+44%) | (8) Lets Go To Vegas 9/2, Ran to form to win by 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Haydock (2½m) last time, needing every yard in a strongly run race. Effective from 2½m to 3m and should improve again stepping back up in trip. Reeled in clear leader to score at Haydock last month, her first run after long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (5/1 +55%)I Spy A Diva |
5/1(+55%) | (2) I Spy A Diva 5/1, Fourth beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle at Southwell last time. Trainer in form. Suited by trips around 2½m though has run well over further; not ideally suited by soft ground. Disappointing in her last two starts, but drop back in trip should help. Ran well for a long way over 3m last month and may be better suited by this shorter trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (11/2 +35%)Easy Love |
11/2(+35%) | (6) Easy Love 11/2, Pulled up in a novice hurdle at Exeter last time. Effective between 2½m and 3m; highly tried in bumpers and had been progressing over hurdles before that effort. Flopped on latest outing but looked very promising beforehand; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (7/1 +0%)Looking As You Are |
7/1(+0%) | (5) Looking As You Are 7/1, Ran to form when third, beaten 15l, in a handicap hurdle at Sandown last time, tiring late up the hill in stronger company. Effective between 2½m and 3m; consistent performer. Unraced on ground faster than good to soft but otherwise, has sound claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (28/1 -100%)Springtime Legend |
28/1(-100%) | (9) Springtime Legend 28/1, Below form off a break when fourth, beaten 21l, in a novice hurdle at Wincanton last time. Effective around 2m5f and probably best with plenty of give, though conditions may be on the fast side. Made low-ley seasonal debut last month but is open to improvement in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (40/1 -150%)Ring O Roses |
40/1(-150%) | (3) Ring O Roses 40/1, Unseated in a handicap hurdle at Sandown last time. Effective around 2½m on soft or good ground and looks fairly treated based on Irish form. Ran well on stable debut last December but absent until early unseat last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Almost two years on the sidelines has apparently done little to diminish LETS GO TO VEGAS' enthusiasm because she stuck her neck out admirably to prevail at Haydock. The third has won since to boost the form and, as long as she doesn't bounce, Alastair Ralph's mare can follow up. Bobbi With An I has been sent off favourite the last twice and her Wincanton second suggested her turn is imminent. Looking As You Are is expected to run her usual honest race, with Game Colours in with a shout too.

Top of the list is GAME COLOURS, who kept on well for a commendable third in a stronger race than this at Cheltenham last month.

(2) (4/7 +29%)Norn Iron |
4/7(+29%) | (2) Norn Iron 4/7, Produced a good effort on chase debut when second, beaten 12l, in a handicap chase at Warwick last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/4m, handles soft and good ground, and should have plenty more to offer over fences. Off the mark in minor 2m Plumpton maiden hurdle; respectable chase debut; can improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/2 +36%)Koukeo |
9/2(+36%) | (4) Koukeo 9/2, Below form, stopped very quickly well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Perth latest; returning from a layoff on chase debut, fair mark if reproduces best of hurdle form. Has form at 2m but stayed 2m5f well when hurdle winner in April; a threat now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/2 -83%)Bond Broker |
11/2(-83%) | (3) Bond Broker 11/2, Bit below form made plenty of use of when fourth beaten 24l in a handicap chase at Plumpton latest; enjoys making it; effective 2m, acts on GS and G; tends to do a bit too much in front, could improve if settles better. Won maiden/novice hurdles last winter; not gone on over fences and ran moderately latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (15/2 +0%)Admiral Stewart |
15/2(+0%) | (1) Admiral Stewart 15/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Southwell last time; effective at 2m and handles soft ground. His current mark looks too high. Won Irish point and 2m hurdle; capitulated tamely once headed over fences latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Bond Broker will try to put his experience to good use after three starts over fences, but he has been beaten a long way each time and it would be no surprise if KOUKEO made a winning start over the larger obstacles. A hurdles winner at Exeter, he is related to plenty of winning chasers in France and gets to race here off bottom weight. Norn Iron may prove his biggest threat if he brushes up his jumping after his Warwick second.

Koukeo is not passed over lightly on his chase debut but this trip will perhaps play more to the strengths of NORN IRON.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (7/2 +13%)Kalif D'airy |
7/2(+13%) | (6) Kalif D'airy 7/2, Well backed and close to form when fourth beaten 9l off 113 last time. Blinkers on for the first time; effective 2m–2m4f, acts on heavy and good ground, and probably has more to come over fences. Good winner on chase debut; lacked fluency when only fourth last time; remains of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/2 +50%)Yes Day |
9/2(+50%) | (2) Yes Day 9/2, Every chance but below form when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Wetherby last time. Off a short break; effective at 3m+, suited by a sound surface, yet to find form this season. Dual winner last March; latest run steadied the ship after three non-completions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (6/1 -118%)Mister Cessna |
6/1(-118%) | (3) Mister Cessna 6/1, Not knocked about once his chance was gone and below form up in grade, finishing second beaten 9 1/2l off 125 last time. Effective at 2m, acts on any surface, in good form for new yard and on a nice mark. Won over 2m on British chasing debut in October and could have more to offer over 2m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (7/1 -100%)Toothless |
7/1(-100%) | (5) Toothless 7/1, Probably needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Wincanton last time. Effective 2m–2m4f, acts on heavy and good ground, needs to prove he retains ability after a layoff. Wide-margin winner in spring 2024; jumping error cooked his goose on last month's return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (10/1 -67%)Shantou Lucky |
10/1(-67%) | (4) Shantou Lucky 10/1, Back to form down in trip on more testing ground when second beaten a neck off 119 last time. Effective 2m4f–3m1f, acts on any surface, and should be suited by conditions; major player if repeating that effort. Five wins for stable since September; 3lb well in after going close at Fakenham last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (18/1 -13%)Tax For Max |
18/1(-13%) | (1) Tax For Max 18/1, Never threatened and was below form back in a handicap, well beaten in a hurdle at Haydock last time. Effective at 2m, acts on a sound surface, and runs for the first time after a wind operation. Not at best over hurdles for new stable this season but drops in grade for chase return. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Toothless disappointed when only fifth at Wincanton after a bad mistake five out, but he is better than that and could be worth another chance. Mister Cessna is a relative youngster at the age of five, and he can go close based on recent evidence, but preference is for SHANTOU LUCKY. Only beaten a neck off 2lb higher at Fakenham in a similar race last month, a repeat of that may be all he needs.

Joe Cotton was about 7l ahead of KALIF D'AIRY when third at Wincanton last month but latter can turn the tables if he jumps better.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (11/1 +39%)Minella Missile |
11/1(+39%) | (12) Minella Missile 11/1, Made mistakes and looked in need of further when fourth, beaten 25l, in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time; usually held up; effective around 2 1/2m but not in the same form since a layoff and may need further. Lightly raced and disappointing since Grade 2 novice win in 2023; cheekpieces added here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

14/1(-56%) | (6) Idy Wood 14/1, Improved when stepped up in trip, landing a handicap hurdle by 2 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Kempton last time. Off a short break; best at around 2 1/2m; consistent but his mark now demands more. 2-3 since reverting to hurdles this season and good 7lb claimer Isabelle Ryder booked here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (18/1 -64%)Stream Of Stars |
18/1(-64%) | (8) Stream Of Stars 18/1, Travelled well and ran to form when beaten a length off a 2lb lower mark at Aintree last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and on soft or good ground; consistent type. Quite lightly raced for his age and last month's clear Aintree second was career-best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (40/1 -264%)Rambo T |
40/1(-264%) | (1) Rambo T 40/1, Scored by a neck off a 6lb lower mark at Chepstow on his penultimate start but found little and ran below form on softer ground last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and on soft or good ground; progressive until latest, though his mark now looks stiff. Disappointed last time but posted career-best form when bagging good prize in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (40/1 -150%)Thanksforthehelp |
40/1(-150%) | (10) Thanksforthehelp 40/1, Needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time. Off a short break; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m but his current mark looks on the high side. Won 25-runner handicap at Punchestown last April but too inconsisent to rely upon. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

HARTINGTON just edges it on the basis that it was a really competitive handicap hurdle he finished a neck second in at Haydock in November. He's been given time to get over those exertions and makes slightly more appeal than Wellington Arch, who sparkled at Aintree last season before running a mighty race in defeat at the Punchestown Festival. Guard Duty is noted too.

The pick is GUARD DUTY (nap), who made up considerable ground in the home straight to finish second in a good Newbury race in November.

FORTUNE DANCER might be all the rage in the finale and punters will be hoping she arrives in the same form as when bolting up at Uttoxeter in November. 2-2 over fences and with the yard in such good nick, it's really difficult to get away from the Soldier Of Fortune mare. The dangers are Bridget Mary and All Authorized.

Chris Gordon's FORTUNE DANCER has shown huge improvement over fences this season and is selected to compete a hat-trick.
