1st (5) (9/2 +25%)Merrimack |
9/2(+25%) | (5) Merrimack 9/2, Below par beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Newbury last time; in good form prior; could snap long losing run Some good efforts this season but he's been up and down and was well held last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/4 +23%)Jax Edge |
5/4(+23%) | (1) Jax Edge 5/4, Raced freely beaten 3/4l off 72 over 6f at Chepstow last time; consistent on fast ground and AW; in the mix Has gone close at Chepstow in both runs this season; up 2lb but she's a big player again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

22/1(-300%) | (6) Francis Drake 22/1, Below par down the field in a handicap over 7f at Doncaster most recent; usually consistent; off a short-break; likely to need this Still has potential but he's untried at this trip and has bit to prove for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (9/1 -29%)Jungle Run |
9/1(-29%) | (3) Jungle Run 9/1, 5l third in a handicap at Yarmouth most recent run where went too fast; just 1lb above last winning mark but not one to rely on Only 1lb higher than for Leicester win in April; dangerous if he can recapture that form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Jungle Run ticks plenty of boxes as a C&D winner, but he was beaten a little over five lengths at Yarmouth in June and has only been dropped 1lb. JAX EDGE stays a sixth furlong but has been caught late on when second on her last two starts over that trip at Chepstow, and she's taken to strike back over the minimum distance despite top-weight. Mumayaz won over seven furlongs at Brighton in April and could be running on late.

Top of the list is JAX EDGE (nap), who has been knocking on the door at Chepstow this season and remains feasibly treated.

7/4(+78%) | (1) Art Lover 7/4, Slowly away well beaten in a novice at York only start; trainer in form; tongue-tie first time; off a short-break; likely alternative with significant improvement likely for top yard Ran green at York and he needs a transformation on this step up in trip; tongue-tie added. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

50/1(-79%) | (8) Madam Mali 50/1, Slowly away well beaten in a novice here only start; big step forward needed to figure Didn't show much over C&D last Monday and needs to leave that debut form miles behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

40/1(+0%) | (9) Molly Mac 40/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 6 1/2l in a novice here last time where too keen; more needed and likely one for handicaps RPRs in the 50s in both runs and nurseries will be more suitable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (66/1 -65%)Geemann |
66/1(-65%) | (3) Geemann 66/1, 26 Feb; Advertise colt; dam useful at 6f at 2yo; yard in good form; may just need this initial experience Has good target to aim at on debut and is best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With very little form to work with, HILITANY is the obvious pick after George Boughey's Ubettabelieveit colt came home second at Ffos Las on his debut. That experience and an added furlong should help. Go On My Son looks interesting as a 100,000gns son of Showcasing and he can go well first time out, leaving Art Lover as a tentative suggestion for third.

This can go HILITANY, who sets a clear standard on his debut second at Ffos Las and is open to progress on this step up in trip.

66/1(+34%) | (3) A Swan Song 66/1, Well beaten in a novice over 7f at Kempton only start where trailed home last; difficult to fancy Finished a tailed-off last at a massive price on her Kempton debut (7f) in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/1 -83%)Australia Light |
11/1(-83%) | (4) Australia Light 11/1, 42,000 euros Australia filly; half-sister to Dornoch Castle, smart at 7f as 2yo; yard can get them ready first time; watch betting Half-sister to numerous winners and she's an interesting newcomer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Australia Light looks an interesting newcomer for Charlie Johnston and she could shape well in behind FINALISE. Second on her only start at Ffos Las over this trip, she represents a yard in great form recently and she has every chance to go one better. Life Is Rosie is another to consider, with her Nottingham third making her a big player.

Preference is for FINALISE, who chased home a subsequent winner on her Ffos Las debut and represents the yard that won this last year.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (33/1 -83%)Space Cowboy |
33/1(-83%) | (1) Space Cowboy 33/1, Poorly drawn beaten 10l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; in good form prior; cheekpieces first time; absent for very lengthy period; likely to need this Very lightly raced 6yo but has something to prove after another long absence; been gelded. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

CHIEF MANKATO regained the winning thread with a taking performance at Chepstow earlier in the month and a 5lb rise could prove lenient as he looks to notch up a third career success. Runner-up on each of his last two starts, Badri is expected to be thereabouts again, along with Many A Star, who got back to winning ways at Newmarket last time out.

Several have possibilities but the vote goes to BADRI who has finished runner-up in his last two starts and remains feasibly treated.

22/1(-22%) | (12) Ridgeway Redwing 22/1, Beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Newbury last time; usually held up; form going the wrong way; basement mark not enough to recommend Struggled in all five runs, including at biggish prices in two handicaps this season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TOP BILLER may not be the most consistent, but he went close when beaten a neck into second at Windsor last time out, and the booking of Sean Levey could prove significant as he looks to go one better off a 2lb higher mark. Juno Star is capable of being in the shake-up, as well as Rinky Tinky Tinky, who drops in class after a respectable effort at Goodwood.

An open race in which TOP BILLER gets the vote ahead of Vault Of Heaven and Rinky Tinky Tinky.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Calibos went agonisingly close at Chepstow recently and if first-time blinkers are able to unlock any further progress, he ought to play a leading role. However, the vote goes to GOOD SHOT. Andrew Balding's charge took a huge leap forward to finish a narrow second on her handicap bow at Lingfield earlier this month. This extra furlong should suit and she is taken to go one place better. Pure Theory is noted too.

The most striking contenders are Calibos and GOOD SHOT, with slight preference for Andrew Balding's unexposed filly.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (11/2 +39%)Little She |
11/2(+39%) | (8) Little She 11/2, Did not get a clear run beaten 3l off 62 at Salisbury last time having missed the break; longer trip a plus; significant jockey booking; probably bit to come 0-7 but was a rallying fourth at Salisbury (1m) last time and she could get involved. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A chance can be taken on LITTLE KEILEE, who had excuses when a beaten favourite at Chester earlier this month. Given the circumstances, she did well to finish sixth and a 2lb ease in the handicap will do her chances no harm, nor will a return to the mile. El Fox made a relatively pleasing handicap bow at Yarmouth and first-time cheekpieces could help to eke out more, while others to note include Midsummer Music and Golden Thorn.

This looks tricky but GOLDEN THORN gets the vote ahead of Gladiadora and Little Keilee.
Ths is the racecard key.
