The return to this distance did the trick for CITY CYCLONE when running out a comfortable winner here last Saturday and it would be no surprise to see him back that performance up, despite a 7lb rise from the handicapper. Heavenly Fire carries a 5lb penalty for Tuesday's success over C&D but she commands plenty of respect along with Voltaic, who has been dropped 2lb for his latest effort.

CITY CYCLONE had plenty up his sleeve when going in over C&D a week ago and a 7 lb rise doesn't look sufficient to prevent him from following up. Fellow C&D winner Heavenly Fire is feared most under a penalty, with Voltaic and Radiant Angel also worthy of consideration.

Topweight CITY CYCLONE (nap) is taken to complete a quickfire double. Heavenly Fire and Radiant Angel complete the shortlist.

WANDERLUST belied his 40/1 odds when finishing third on his opening bid over C&D last month and this looks a suitable opportunity for him to open his account. Marco Botti's charge should have learned plenty from that experience and he's preferred to Destructive. The four-year-old will likely need to improve on his fourth-placed effort at Windsor in June to topple the selection, but a 201-day break and gelding procedure could rejuvenate him. Ray Gun may fare best of the remainder.

The Ralph Beckett stable was one of the most prolific with newcomers in 2024 and RUN WITH IT makes plenty of appeal on paper first time up for the yard here. Wanderlust and Destructive have experience and will surely be competitive.

The suggestion is WANDERLUST who ran such a promising first race here behind two who could turn out useful.

MANARA benefited from a step up in trip when scoring on her nursery debut at Chelmsford in November before following up here under a penalty in more impressive fashion just four days later. The handicapper has duly reacted by giving her a further 11lb rise, which may not be enough to stop her. Patrol got off the mark at Southwell and is expected to be competitive once again, while Fernando and Tiempo Alegre can fight it out for the minor honours.

Impressive last time out winner MANARA remains unexposed and she can land the hat-trick, at the expense of the consistent Patrol who typically finds plenty for pressure and should go well again. Tiempo Alegre and Fernando can fight it out for minor honours.

Tactics and luck in running can play a vital part but MANARA is preferred to Tiempo Alegre and Patrol.

NOGO'S DREAM found only Master Of My Fate too strong at Lingfield just over a week ago and with the winner now ruled out of the rematch, Richard Hughes' five-year-old can take full advantage. Secret Mistral burst back into life over C&D recently and although a repeat performance is far from guaranteed, she still has to be feared. Catch Cunningham has been holding his form quite well and shouldn't be far away.

Recent Lingfield winner MASTER OF MY FATE has an appealing all-weather record and remains feasibly treated. He can score again. Secret Mistral and Nogo's Dream can also make their presence felt.

He doesn't win very often, but opportunity will knock for NOGO'S DREAM should the pace collapse up front.

A tentative vote goes to SARAFINA MSHAIRI, who has given the impression on her last two starts here over 5f that stepping up in trip is what she needs, having been outpaced before keeping on at the finish. A mark of 58 on her handicap debut looks manageable and the daughter of Cable Bay is preferred to the relatively consistent Roysdelight. Party Bear, for the in-form Karl Burke outfit, Mister Coco Fizz and Roselily are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

SARAFINA MSHAIRI has acquitted herself well in a trio of starts in recent months and has been handed a plum draw for her handicap debut. She gets the nod. Party Bear and Roysdelight head the list of dangers.

Preference is for ROSELILY who shaped with promise over 7f here last time and could benefit from the drop back in trip.

MAHARAJAS EXPRESS was beaten half a length into second over 5f at this venue earlier in the week and he competes off an unchanged rating. Ian Williams' five-year-old should have no issues with this step back up in trip and he will prove very hard to beat. Rogue Thunder justified favouritism over C&D last time and holds an obvious chance, while Smasher is a player based on his second at Kempton two starts ago.

MAHARAJAS EXPRESS is well handicapped and took a firm step in the right direction debuting for a new yard when second here 5 days ago so, if the race doesn't come too soon, he's capable of going one better. Rogue Thunder, a former stablemate of the selection, is a big danger and old rival Red Walls can't be dismissed.

The in-form ROGUE THUNDER is just 1lb higher than when narrowly beating Red Walls over C&D 12 days ago and earns the vote.
Ths is the racecard key.
