Enola Holmes broke her maiden in comfortable fashion over C&D recently and although respected, she has more to do under the penalty. Karl Burke's debuting duo of Wonderbolt and Rajwa make considerable appeal and market support would be noteworthy, but the vote goes to CUPOLA. Clive Cox's filly made a pleasing racecourse bow at Lingfield last month, finishing third, and it would come as no surprise were the Harry Angel filly to step forward today.

CUPOLA shaped well amidst greenness when third on her introduction at Lingfield and, likely to improve with that run under her belt, the daughter of Harry Angel earns the vote. Enola Holmes scored in good style on her first run for this yard over C&D recently and she is greatly respected, while the Karl Burke-trained newcomers Rajwa and Wonderbolt both need close attention in the betting.

A few with chances but there was a lot to like about the debut Lingfield third of CUPOLA so Clive Cox's filly gets the vote.

SUN KEEPER shaped with promise on her first foray into handicap company, finishing third in behind a couple of in-form rivals at Newcastle last month. Eased 1lb for her troubles, the daughter of Havana Grey should appreciate this extra furlong and the application of a first-time tongue-tie is another potential source of improvement. Dance Recital hasn't always looked the easiest of rides, but she moves into handicaps from a potentially workable mark. Ballsgrove Boy, a narrow second at Southwell in December, is also noted.

LITTLE BITTERN was well backed to follow up her Southwell success at Lingfield but blew the start and was never on terms. This looks a thin handicap and she can resume winning ways if breaking better. Top Biller is feared most ahead of Ballsgrove Boy.

The vote goes to SUN KEEPER who finished third on handicap debut at Newcastle four weeks ago and that form has since been boosted.

A chance can be taken on ATHERSTONE BEAU, who posted an improved performance when not beaten far into sixth over 5f on her all-weather debut last month. A step up in trip looks certain to suit Roger Fell's filly on that evidence and a 2lb ease in the handicap could be very lenient. Causin A Commotion has been knocking at the door recently and is unlikely to be far away once again, while Rosezan warrants a market check now sent handicapping for the first time.

KALEIDOSCOPE EYES did the job well when opening her account over 7f here last month and followed that with a creditable effort back at this course 15 days ago. She promises to be suited by this drop back in trip and shades preference ahead of Causin A Commotion and Royal Accord, while Blue Force One is also worth a second look.

In a race where plenty arrive out of sorts, and from declining marks, the safest option is seemingly the in-form KALEIDOSCOPE EYES.

Addosh was beaten five lengths into second when last seen in this sphere at Southwell last month and has been well held in two starts over hurdles since. A return to the Flat could produce a better performance, but it may be best to side with HAWA JUMEIRAH. The four-year-old ran below-par when only fourth over 1m4f here last time but based on his success at this venue prior to that, he could be the one to beat. Balgowan completes the shortlist.

BALGOWAN gets the nod to resume winning ways after a couple of good runner-up efforts to start 2025. James Owen pair Addosh and Marvellous Lady, who won a course classified event over a much shorter trip last week, may provide the main opposition.

Ex-Irish MARVELLOUS LADY was quick to get off the mark for James Owen here last week and can defy a 5lb penalty upped in distance.

MAMDOH hasn't finished out of the top two since the application of cheekpieces two starts ago, when beating Sophosc into third and scoring by a length over C&D. The four-year-old was far from disgraced in second over an extended 2m at Southwell subsequently and could prove difficult to beat back at this venue. Two Plus Two beat Daaris (third) when successful over track and trip on his penultimate start and he can confirm that form to go close.

MAMDOH has been in top form since cheekpieces have gone on and can resume winning ways with Warren Fentiman taking a handy 7 lb off. The consistent Daaris is second choice ahead of Sophosc, who was third to the selection here at the beginning of the month.

C&D winner MAMDOH (nap) has advanced his form since cheekpieces went on and can race off the same mark as when a good second on Friday.

City Of God improved on his debut fourth to shed his maiden tag over a mile at Southwell last month and with any amount of improvement to come, he has to be considered on his handicap debut. However, it may pay to side with SWEET FANTASTIC, who stayed on to win well in first-time cheekpieces over this trip at Kempton last time and was only put up 4lb for that triumph. With Liam Wright claiming a handy 5lb this time around, he may prove tough to stop. Master Technician is another to note.

A competitive handicap that can go to SWEET FANTASTIC, who won well in first-time cheekpieces at Kempton last month and has more to offer. City of God took a big step forward at Southwell and should do better again now handicapping.

The choice is CITY OF GOD who remains open to improvement now handicapping after his all-the-way success at Southwell last month.

Plenty of these have something to prove, so it might be worth taking a chance on GRECIAN GOD. Mark Usher's charge would undoubtedly need to step forward on what he has shown recently, but this is his first foray into classified company and it would come as no surprise to see an improved display. He shades the verdict over Dandy Lichious, who arrives on the back of a respectable third at Southwell and a similar performance should see him thereabouts once more. Scarfo is the pick of the remainder.

DANDY LICHIOUS has found some consistency at this level of late and is narrowly selected to come out on top from stablemate Coconut Bay, who also ran one of her better races this winter when fourth over C&D 8 days ago. Balmy Breese is another in with a shout.

Mark Usher's GRECIAN GOD is preferred to Scarfo and Dandy Lichious. It's the selection's first run in a classified race.

Celebrating Ethel found only a subsequent winner too strong over track and trip 22 days ago and a 1lb nudge up in the ratings looks very fair. However, MR FUSTIC overcame a rough passage when holding on to score at Lingfield earlier this month and, racing off just 2lb higher, the seven-year-old may prove to be the better handicapped of the pair. Charlatan and Mariner can also make their presence felt.

WAISTCOAT was unsuited by the drop in trip in a race that has thrown up subsequent winners when sixth in a handicap at Kempton (7f) back in August and, starting out for a new yard/having been gelded, he could be worth chancing with the step back up in trip looking firmly in his favour. Lingfield-scorer Mr Fustic, Charlatan and Celebrating Ethel head up the dangers.

Mariner can go well for a yard in great form but Lingfield winner MR FUSTIC can take advantage of a still-favourable mark.

HIGH COURT JUDGE had little difficulty in completing a five-timer at Newcastle three days ago and he's hard to oppose on his current upward trajectory. Warren Fentiman is taking a handy 7lb off the five-year-old's back and a 5lb penalty seems unlikely to prevent an eighth career victory. Sense Of Worth arrives on the back of a solid second over an extended 1m1f here, but today's 1m4f distance may stretch his stamina. With that in mind, a bigger threat may emerge from last-time-out C&D winner Starfighter.

HIGH COURT JUDGE had little trouble bringing up his fifth victory since the turn of the year when running out a ready winner at Newcastle on Saturday and he looks to hold prime claims again under Warren Fentiman. Starfighter is another arriving in excellent form and is feared most. Sense of Worth and Night Bear rate next best.

Starfighter makes some appeal now he's found some form again but the six-timer is very much on the cards for HIGH COURT JUDGE.
