The fact trainer Michael O'Callaghan sends a costly newcomer across the water says a lot, and NINTH CRUSADE looks bred to get the job done, with his dam being a half-sister to a triple-Listed winner on the all-weather. Comic Strip is another debutant to note, although he may want further in time based on his pedigree. Booziebrunch is the only member of the field to boast racecourse experience and he wasn't disgraced when fourth at Yarmouth in April.

Preference is for the fascinating Irish challenger NINTH CRUSADE, especially if the market speaks in his favour.

PEREGRINE FALCON has done well since joining the Patrick Morris yard and stepping back up to 6f could be just what is needed as she looks to get off the mark at the seventh time of asking. The booking of Billy Loughnane is significant and she is preferred to Azure Zain, who had the reopposing Mister Invincible (fifth) not far behind when fourth over C&D last month.

This can go to PEREGRINE FALCON whose narrow defeat here on her penultimate outing reads well in the context of this race.

EDUCATE was value for more than the winning margin of half-a-length when seeing off Pysanka (second) over C&D in April, and a 7lb turn at the weights may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. Now that the penny has dropped for Emaculate Soldier after a determined success over further here last time out, there may be more to come from the five-year-old off just 2lb higher.

This could be run to suit the five-time C&D winner PYSANKA (nap) more than when behind Educate here last time.

Although unable to justify cramped odds when runner-up at Brighton recently, a reproduction could see ANGLESEY LAD gaining a belated first career triumph. The son of Kodi Bear has performed with credit at Dunstall Park before and edges the vote over reopposing third Second Collection. Tony Carroll's mare has posted several creditable efforts in defeat in recent months and isn't taken lightly. Bankrupt is the pick of the remainder.

The vote goes to SECOND COLLECTION who has won four times around here and is more reliable than many at this level.

HIJO DE LA LUNA was far from disgraced when finishing third over hurdles at Southwell last month and this step into classified company could prove fruitful. Simon West's gelding had previously posted some respectable efforts in handicap level on the all-weather and rates as the one to beat. The biggest threat may emerge from Pending Appeal, who should find this easier than her latest sixth in a handicap at Yarmouth, ahead of Trusty Scout.

Preference is for dual C&D winner PRINCE HECTOR who is 1-1 at this level and who may enjoy the run of the race out in front.

ANIFICAS BEAUTY has won races back-to-back before and with this appearing to be an easier assignment than the handicap she won at Pontefract most recently, the Peter Winks-trained mare is hard to oppose. Sir Laurence Graff also rates a key player in this modest company, while Rampant has posted good efforts in defeat on Tapeta elsewhere and warrants a betting check on his first career start at Dunstall Park.

This looks a good opportunity for ANIFICAS BEAUTY to follow up her latest Pontefract success back down in grade.

With this being just her third start in handicap, YESTERDAY'S GONE appeals the most in a race where all seven entrants something to prove. After an improved effort when third in a similar race at Carlisle, her connections play a shrewd hand with Joe Bradnam utilising a 7lb claim. Blue Train boasts some convincing recent form and is respected accordingly, while Pretty Spirited, who posted her best effort so far on Southwell's Tapeta two starts ago, is another to consider.

The choice is CLASSIC CAUSE who had possible excuses last time having previously made such an encouraging return at Southwell.
Ths is the racecard key.
