SUSTAINED made a winning debut over 7f here and can defy a penalty over this longer trip with his yard in top form at present. Lingfield third Thorntonledale Max failed to show any progress at Southwell last time, but Dashinwhitesargent has placed in a handicap at Epsom and rates a bigger threat. Captain Cisco made a winning introduction but that was back in 2022 and he debuts for a new trainer on his reappearance.

Preference is for DASHINWHITESARGENT, who took a first backward step after a further 8 weeks off at Goodwood last month, but Hughie Morrison's colt should be all the sharper for that outing. He can get the better of Sustained, who was value for extra when making a winning debut at this track recently and is open to improvement. Thorntonledale Max and Miss Dandylion can fight out minor honours.

Sustained did well to shrug off interference to make a winning debut here but in receipt of weight THORNTONLEDALE MAX is preferred.

MISS SLIGO has done most of her winning at this lowly level, and a recent third at Lingfield suggests she will be returning to winning ways again soon. Eva Rosie has also placed in classified company lately, albeit over shorter distances, and she is attempting 1m4f for the first time. Letmebetheboss showed a modicum of improvement when dropped into this grade at Windsor and has scope for further progress.

LETMEBETHEBOSS shaped best when fourth at Windsor on his latest outing, forcing the pace before worn down approaching the final 1f, so he can build on that effort to open his account. The only 3-y-o in the line-up can see off the challenge of Endofastorm, who is respected as she drops in grade, with Eva Rosie also considered.

This is open but ENDOFASTORM can come on for her recent reappearance and has plenty going for her on her 2023 form.

MONSIEUR PATAT was having only his second outing for Adrian Wintle's yard when scoring at Hamilton in May. He remains on a winning handicap mark, despite a 6lb rise for that success, and can go in again. Mintana finished just in front of Sea The Buckthorn when third over course and distance latest and that pair can figure again, while Global Effort won over 6f here on his penultimate start but his previous attempts over this trip fail to inspire confidence.

HIGHFIELD HEIRESS rather stands out as an unexposed sort in this line-up and gets the nod under Oisin Murphy, with confidence in her chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Last-time-out Hamilton scorer Monsieur Patat is feared most ahead of Sea The Buckxthorn and Mintana, who are closely matched on recent C&D form.

An open race. MINTANA and Sea The Buckthorn were closers in a C&D handicap last week and they appeal as the solid options.

A classified stakes winner at Yarmouth last month, Porfin makes the shortlist after a near miss back in a 6f handicap here most recently. Still on a workable mark, Grace McEntee's mount can go well. However, the six-year-old is probably better over 6f and, with that in mind, C&D winner SOUTH DAKOTA SIOUX shades preference off 7lb below his last winning mark. Sir Titan and Desert Dream can also get involved.

PORFIN ran well for second over 6f here last week and is taken to go one better returned to 7f. South Dakota Sioux's latest Newcastle fourth shows he can make an impact from his reduced mark and he's second choice ahead of Sir Titan, who hasn't fired on turf the last twice but can fare better back on turf with Hollie Doyle doing the steering.

Porfin knows how to win and likes it here but SOUTH DAKOTA SIOUX shades it off a career-low mark back down from 1m.

Barring a success from FLYING PANTHER in a classified event over an extended 1m1f here last month, recent winning form is so thin on the ground that James Owen's gelding is a logical choice to stamp his authority as topweight in a very ordinary handicap. Peachey Carnehan and Outreach, who sports first-time cheekpieces, are other strong contenders. While dropping in trip could be a source of improvement for We'renotreallyhere, who completes the shortlist.

WE'RENOTREALLYHERE hasn't run too badly the last twice and might be able to strike from an easing mark. Outreach hasn't been at the top of his game in recent starts but is nicely handicapped if first-time cheekpieces have a positive effect. Course-specialist Peachey Carnehan also makes the shortlist.

This is a minefield and there are worse ideas than to stick with the proven winner who likes it here, namely PEACHEY CARNEHAN.

It would be easy to side with either of the two last-time-out winners Miss Calculation and Forgotten Treasure, but as neither have managed to win races back-to-back before, there are good reasons to take a chance elsewhere. Having landed a similar race on Tapeta at Newcastle in February, FANTASY NAVIGATOR appeals as the one to take up the mantle as the principal player in this modest company. Ustath and Fai Fai can also go well.

It could be worth chancing BIG IMPACT, who drops in class starting out for a new yard after 12 months off. There's not much to choose between most of these, with last-time-out winners Miss Calculation and Forgotten Treasure heading the dangers.

A swing in the weights may be enough for REVE DE MAGRITTE to reverse placings with Forgotten Treasure. Ustath can go well too.

Evoluir put his poor form from last year well behind him when hitting the crossbar in this grade at Newcastle last time and he ought to go close off the same rating. However, the vote goes to WILLOWBANK, who made the frame over 7f at Lingfield last month and this drop in trip looks like a good move. Charlie Fellowes' filly was dropped 1lb for that effort and she could be the one to beat. Carmarthen isn't out of after her second at Ffos Las.

CARMARTHEN responded well to this headgear when going close at Ffos Las and shades the vote over Evoluir, who took a big step forward when runner-up at Newcastle on his AW debut/return 10 days ago. Amroon is another to consider with Oisin Murphy taking over.

The vote goes to EVOLUIR (nap) whose Newcastle effort can probably be upgraded a touch. Second choice is Carmarthen.

BLUEBELLS BOY was beaten a neck by Victors Dream in a classified event over an extended 5f at Brighton last month. That said, the son of Outstrip was a smooth victor at Yarmouth on his latest outing and he looks well placed to record a double. Restricted ran too bad to be true when seventh at Nottingham last time and, if he can reproduce his second two starts ago, he could have a say. Enchanted Night can be in the mix for the minor honours.

UNDER CURFEW might have found 3 relatively quick runs on heavy ground too much at Chepstow last time and is potentially on a good mark back on AW after a break. Victors Dream is next best having edged out re-opposing subsequent winner Bluebells Boy at Brighton 5 weeks ago.

Victors Dream is preferred to old rival Bluebells Boy but both are taken on with RESTRICTED, who has the toe to utilise stall 2.
Ths is the racecard key.
