An open contest sees a chance taken on EL HOMBRE, who has been dropped 1lb in the ratings for his latest fifth over 6f at Lingfield. He was beaten just two lengths on that occasion and can exploit this mark. Kit Gabriel is feared most after a decent fourth over C&D last time and he can go closer should he get away on terms, while Imperial Dream also deserves respect.

The most appealing of these is KIT GABRIEL, who did well under the circumstances on just his second start of the season (also just second run for this yard) when fourth in the C&D handicap won by Minnetonka earlier this month. The winner of that race did the form no harm at all when runner-up in a competitive contest at Pontefract on Thursday. Nogo's Dream put in a good shift at Kempton last time and is just about second choice ahead of Newyorkstateofmind.

Topweight KIT GABRIEL did pretty well to claim fourth over C&D 16 days ago and can win this easier race if he gets a better start.

COTAI VISION is clear of these on ratings and this appears to be a very good opportunity to get her head in front. Ed Walker's filly has struggled to land a blow in handicap company of late but she can make her presence felt in these calmer waters. Naturalia ranks as best of the rest and she can pick up the pieces should the selection not fire after a promising fourth over 7f at Kempton last time, while Peace Wall can also get involved.

COTAI VISION is dropped in class for her tapeta debut and is the clear form pick. Naturalia has place claims along with Peace Wall.

Likely front-runner COTAI VISION has a good draw and a good chance at the weights here. Naturalia is second choice.

SEAX made a very pleasing start to his career when second over 6f at Ascot and he appears likely to improve sufficiently to go one better. George Scott's colt was beaten just a length on that occasion and he shaped as if this step up in trip would be a big positive. Cheshire Dancer should also be thereabouts after shedding her maiden tag in game fashion over the extended 7f at Beverley last time, while Alwedad is another to consider with her debut experience under her belt.

There was plenty to like about SEAX's debut at Ascot just over a fortnight ago and, with improvement anticipated, he's fancied to get off the mark at the second attempt. Penalised Cheshire Dancer should progress further and rates the principal threat, ahead of newcomer Electrified.

This looks good for SEAX, who made a pleasing debut when second at Ascot a fortnight ago.

Narrowly denied over C&D on her penultimate start and a respectable third over further at Kempton since, SAIL ON SILVERBIRD looks the one to be with and she can get off the mark at the seventh time of asking. Going up in trip could bring about improvement from Song Of Success, while Puntarelle should be able to build on a solid placed effort over C&D earlier in the month.

The step up to 7f could really suit SONG OF SUCCESS judged on her good late work at Chelmsford 3 weeks ago, so she's put forward as the answer. Sail On Silverbird and Reve de Magritte head the dangers.

Low-mileage 3yo REGAL FANFARE (nap) was denied a clear run in the closing stages when fourth at Newmarket and can get off the mark.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SAHARA KITTEN had Marefuori (third) over two lengths behind when a creditable runner-up at Kempton last time out, and he can uphold that form despite a 3lb swing at the weights in favour of the latter. The step up in trip is another plus for James Tate's colt, and the same can be said for Southwell winner Mai Dubai, a son of Frankel making his nursery debut.

There is more to come from MAI DUBAI up in trip and he can make a successful handicap debut. Sahara Kitten ran well in a decent-looking nursery at Kempton and looks the danger.

The 200,000gns yearling MAI DUBAI posted a decent RPR when off the mark at Southwell and this initial mark might be okay.

KENTUCKY KINGDOM pulled clear over 1m2f at Lingfield under Joe Leavy last month, having travelled strongly into contention, and he could yet defy a subsequent 8lb hike now sent back over further. Hashtagmetoo was successful off this mark over track and trip in March. She ought to be thereabouts having finished a half-length second at Bath last time, while Byzantine Empire is also noted.

BYZANTINE EMPIRE has dropped significantly in the weights and looked back in form when runner-up at Ffos Las 9 days ago, so he takes preference over Hashtagmetoo, who also returned to form last time. Recent Lingfield scorer Kentucky Kingdom is also a player.

Today's rather belated return to Tapeta might enable useful jumper BYZANTINE EMPIRE to get off the mark on the Flat.

Bankrupt has been in decent form of late and, though respected, a wide draw could scupper his chances. That isn't the case for WHITE UMBRELLA, however, who was almost able to exploit a sliding handicap mark when filling the runner-up spot over 7f here three weeks ago. Christopher Kellett's charge gets the nod off an unchanged mark, while Flagman heads the remainder.

Not so competitive as the numbers suggest and in-form filly WHITE MIST is taken to gain an overdue first victory off a career-low mark here. Bankrupt is feared most on the back of his good Beverley third with El Hibr also firmly in the picture as he bids to shed his maiden tag on his first run for Ian Williams.

In a trappy event it's worth siding with WHITE MIST. She caught the eye with a big mid-race move last time and that run can be upgraded.
Ths is the racecard key.
