Sisters In The Sky won over C&D on his latest outing and is expected to be competitive once again, despite a 2lb rise from the handicapper. Watermelon Sugar took a step back in the right direction when a neck third at Wolverhampton last month, but the vote goes to BRUNEL CHARM following his recent placed effort at Kempton having suffered interference.

FAI FAI was second in a better race than this over C&D 10 days ago, and he can take advantage of a drop in grade to go one better today. Brunel Charm is respected on the back of his latest effort having met trouble in running, while Watermelon Sugar looks set to run another solid race.

Provided his latest effort is backed up, FAI FAI has a great chance back down two grades. Sisters In The Sky is second pick.
Class & Speed Card

POETIC JACK proved to be disappointing when attempting to follow up a C&D success at Chelmsford. However, the five-year-old, who had been in consistent form prior to that display, is more than capable of leaving the effort behind and is expected to confirm placings with Alshimali from their meeting here at the start of last month. Arlecchino's Gift won off this mark at Wolverhampton in September and it would be no surprise if he bounced back to form.

A good opportunity for ALSHIMALI who has been knocking on the door of late and a repeat effort should be good enough to take this. C&D winner Poetic Jack can leave his last run behind, with Big Bard not discounted having been too keen when well-backed at Kempton.

In-form maiden ALSHIMALI is taken to open his account and reverse C&D placings with Poetic Jack.
Class & Speed Card

PLAGE DE HAVRE was no match for a useful prospect of Godolphin's when runner-up at Chelmsford on his latest start, but this may be the ideal opportunity for Andrew Balding's gelding to get off the mark. Pride Of Donegal is likely to benefit from stepping up in distance based on his pedigree, while better is expected from Tribal Act, assuming he has learned plenty from his debut experience at Kempton.

PLAGE DE HAVRE did little wrong in defeat when second at Chelmsford last month, seemingly bumping into a useful one. He can make his experience count over the promising Tribal Act who was still learning on the job on debut. Pride of Donegal can claim bronze on his first try at this trip.

Among those who have run, PLAGE DE HAVRE, Pride Of Donegal and Tribal Act are highly plausible as potential winners.
Class & Speed Card

Nordic Glory and My Genghis are reliable options, while Second Collection was revived by first-time blinkers when landing a similar event at Wolverhampton last month. She rates a key player nudged up just 1lb, but MY TURN NOW was too keen for her own good in that race and may be able to turn the tables if settling better. Unavailable is not dismissed back over 5f and adds further depth to a competitive event for the grade.

A competitive race with several who like to go forward and that could set it up for SECOND COLLECTION who benefitted from a patient ride when scoring in first-time blinkers last time. My Genghis hasn't had things go his way on his last few starts and he can make it a 1-2 for his in-form stable. Recent course winner Unavailable can go well again.

This can go to NORDIC GLORY who loves it around here and who ran very well at this venue last time on his return from a break.
Class & Speed Card

Monsieur Beaulieu has been a good servant for Nick Littmoden and having won over C&D last month, he can have a major say after being narrowly denied when third off this figure back here on New Year's Eve. However, fellow track-and-trip winner BELL SHOT, who has hit the target off higher marks on turf, potentially offers more value after hinting at a revival of late. Thapa VC is closely matched with his two likely main rivals so also enters calculations.

THAPA VC and Monsieur Beaulieu are closely matched on their running here last week and can come to the fore again, with Mark Rimell's charge fancied to come out on top if getting the breaks. Bell Shot is also respected.

The vote goes to THAPA VC who only just failed to get up over C&D ten days ago. He can go one better from the same mark.
Class & Speed Card

THE THAMES BOATMAN, who has form that ties in with a few of these, overcame a tardy start to get back to winning ways over C&D in September and, having been tried in deeper races since, he can uphold the form with runner-up Almaty Star and third-placed Mc Loven off just a 3lb higher rating. A previous C&D winner, Diomed Spirit isn't weighted out of this and is another to bear in mind if he attracts support in the betting.

MICHAELA'S BOY did quite well to hold off a pair ridden in contrasting fashion at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago and is the percentage call to go in again following a small rise in the weights. Mc Loven and Diomed Sprit head the opposition in tightly-knit affair.

Another chance is given to THE THAMES BOATMAN. He lost his unbeaten course record last time, but that was in a 0-105 contest.
Class & Speed Card

Having accounted for Charlie's Choice in an apprentice handicap at Wolverhampton last week, TORTURED SOUL should prove tough to beat racing off the same mark. The son of Zoffany is 3lb well-in and edges the vote over Addosh, who has performed with credit since racing under the tutelage of James Owen and a 77-day break may have freshened her up. Sharp Distinction is also noted reverting to the C&D of his last victory.

TORTURED SOUL was right back on song when scoring at Wolverhampton recently and is a straightforward choice to follow up given he escapes a penalty for that success. Charlie's Choice can go well again, while Sharp Distinction remains fairly treated on old form.

Having been first and second at Wolverhampton 11 days ago, TORTURED SOUL (nap) and Charlie's Choice can come to the fore again.
Class & Speed Card

H Key Lails looked better than ever when making all over track and trip and a 4lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold bid. He may find it harder to dominate from stall 10, though, and it could be worth chancing ROSCIOLI. The Territories gelding has hit the frame on his last three attempts over C&D and his current mark looks workable. The Spotlight Kid and Book Of Life warrant a second look as well.

H KEY LAILS is in a good vein of form and was well ridden by Callum Hutchinson when accounting for Book of Life here 3 weeks ago. He can see off that rival once more. The Spotlight Kid should also be in the mix again.

H Key Lails is respected but he had the run of the race over C&D last month when beating BOOK OF LIFE, who gets the vote.
Class & Speed Card

Star Of Markinch was friendless in the betting ahead of last month's C&D spin but the 50/1 shot finished a narrow second, which can perhaps be marked up given that she was briefly short of room approaching the furlong pole. She can go close again, but it is BRECCIA who shades preference. Robert Stephens' mare recorded a cosy victory at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day and, given she remains well treated on past exploits, a 4lb rise should be no barrier to further success. Liberated Lad is also noted.

Several interesting ones in this class 6 handicap, with LIBERATED LAD chanced after shaping better on his return to 2m at Wolverhampton last time. Corsican Caper, Breccia and Zivaniya also make some appeal.

Provided she's as effective at Newcastle, BRECCIA could well follow up her Wolverhampton success. Zivaniya is second pick.
Class & Speed Card

RHYTHM AND TYNE had both Autocrat and Rockview Consort behind when just denied in a claimer over C&D last month. The selection won twice over an extended 1m2f here near the end of 2023 and has since been mainly campaigned over hurdles. Brosna Town won a maiden over this trip at Fairyhouse last summer and kept on well when an encouraging third to Pepper Noir on his first outing at this venue last month, while Eighty Eight confirmed the promise of his second to Trishuli River when going one better here just before Christmas but is unproven over this trip.

BROSNA TOWN showed improved form switched to this surface when third over C&D 4 weeks ago and remains unexposed. He gets the nod over Autocrat and Eighty Eight.

The one to be on could well be RHYTHM AND TYNE after a narrow defeat in a C&D claimer last month with a couple of these behind
Class & Speed Card

Martin's Brig hit the woodwork in a similar C&D event recently and is entitled to respect on that evidence, but the vote goes to MAKING A MOVE. The lightly-raced five-year-old didn't have the clearest of passages when beaten three-quarters of a length into third over track and trip last week and, given a kinder trip, there should be no reason why the gelded son of Churchill won't go very close. Just Typical has an excellent chance on these terms, but stall one could pose an issue.

MAKING A MOVE has looked a winner waiting to happen on both starts for Daragh Bourke here and can open his account. Eva Rosie caught the eye in a similar race here last week and is interesting, while Just Typical could also make his presence felt.

Granted better fortune, MAKING A MOVE could well open his account. Eva Rosie is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

LYLE THE CROCODILE showed some promise in three maiden starts over this trip and may have just found the step up to 7f a shade too far when a promising third to Your Call on his first handicap start here last month. Tomarlo had Movin And Groovin about three lengths behind when scoring over C&D in November and was subsequently only caught in the closing stages when stepping up a furlong. Movin And Groovin can't be discounted on these revised terms and had Bansha Belle three lengths behind when again filling the runner-up spot over 6f last time. Hooz In Court kept on well over a mile here last time but may not be suited by this drop back in distance.

There is more to come from LYLE THE CROCODILE and he can open his account back down in trip. Tomarlo and Movin And Groovin should go well again also.

The one to beat is the progressive TOMARLO(nap) who will appreciate coming back to 6f after a narrow defeat over 7f in November
Class & Speed Card

Sovereign Sea didn't need to come out of second gear to make a winning debut over C&D in November. He'll be a force with improvement likely, but it might be tough to shoulder a penalty up against PARKLAND. The son of Wootton Bassett showed clear ability on Polytrack at Chelmsford and Kempton, most notably when chasing home Guineas hero Notable Speech at the Sunbury circuit just under a year ago. He came up short at Doncaster in May, but this is not as deep and he might be worth chancing on his comeback. Kingdom Of Time should not be underestimated either.

SOVEREIGN SEA was all the rage in the betting and confirmed himself an above-average prospect when landing a 4-runner C&D novice on debut in November. Not needing to be extended then, he's fancied to make a bold bid under a penalty with progress anticipated. Parkland, who has finished runner-up to subsequent 2000 Guineas winner Notable Speech, is feared returning from 7 months off. Newcomer Bragbor is another to consider, particularly if strong in the betting.

This is a tricky puzzle to solve but PARKLAND looked promising on his first three starts gets the vote ahead of Sovereign Sea.

CURRENT OPTION has proved a great servant to connections winning the Ahonoora Premier Handicap three times at the Galway Festival and also landing a Group 3 at Tipperary. The selection held a career-high mark of 110 but still retains plenty of ability, as evidenced by his neck second to Apache Outlaw over C&D last time with a number of these rivals behind, including Clarita. Shoot To Kill has won twice over 7f here this winter, including at the last meeting before Christmas, and he remains a threat off his revised rating, while Nikki Swango and Sayifyouwill are closely matched on their running behind Comfort Line last month.

NIKKI SWANGO caught the eye starting out for this yard when 3½ lengths behind Shoot To Kill over this C&D 3 weeks ago and he's 7 lb better off with the winner here. Clarita and Current Option complete the shortlist.

Marginal preference is for the consistent SHOOT TO KILL after two wins here over the winter and looks ready to win in this grade
Class & Speed Card

Successful on his last two starts over this C&D, ORIENTAL PRINCE performed respectably when second over further here most recently and he should be much more at home going back to 5f on this occasion. The four-year-old gets the vote ahead of Monday's Wolverhampton winner Gustav Graves and Thunder Star, who has been runner-up over track and trip on her last two appearances.

GUSTAV GRAVES confirmed the promise of his previous start here when capitalising on his much-reduced mark at Wolverhampton on Monday and, having had a prolific spell this time last winter, he's fancied to make another bold bid under a penalty. Oriental Prince back at the minimum trip, and Thunder Star, who ran well when runner-up here last time, can pose chief resistance in a competitive affair.

Most of these are in good form but there is no strong temptation to oppose progressive 4yo ORIENTAL PRINCE (nap).
Class & Speed Card

MVEVE has been placed on both outings here over 7f and may have found a good opportunity to open her account. The daughter of American Pharoah lost out narrowly to Ethical Code before filling third spot behind the 84-rated Queens Fury and subsequent winner Ardagh Red. Eutropia attracted market support when fifth on debut behind the selection's stablemate Honeysuckle Rose, with Lady Plimsoll behind in sixth, while Nepal was runner-up on debut behind another Joseph O'Brien-trained maiden winner, also over 7f last month. Calm The Jets showed some promise in a barrier trial at Leopardstown.

MVEVE sets a solid standard and looks the way to go in a first-time tongue tie. Nepal looks the danger after he made a promising start here last month. Hopes Are High might be the pick of the newcomers.

It might pay to side with LADY PLIMSOLL who caught the eye in a 7f maiden here last month and will appreciate the step up in trip
Class & Speed Card

Now that ALEXANDER JAMES has regained the winning thread when dropping to this sort of level over 1m here, there could be more to come from the nine-year-old and the shorter trip may not inconvenience him. The unexposed Kranjcar is one to be interested in as he goes back up in distance. Gunnerside has decent claims based on the pick of his form.

GUNNERSIDE failed to meet expectations in a handicap here last month but is worth another chance on these terms. The unexposed Kranjcar remains with potential so is next best ahead of Agent Mayfair.

This could be a good opportunity for GUNNERSIDE, who was in good form in handicaps here in the autumn.
Class & Speed Card

Electric Beauty, Denim And Diamonds and BEAUTIFUL AFFAIR were only separated by about a length in the maiden won by the selection's stablemate Sweet Illusions over C&D last month. The Wootton Bassett filly is obviously held in good regard as she was sent off the heavily backed 11/8 favourite for that debut run and didn't enjoy the clearest of passages. Electric Beauty was also having her first run and there was plenty to like about the way she came home strongly inside the final furlong. Powerful Lady enters calculations on her neck second to Your Call here last time, while Lyra Constellation and Bint Majestic Roi are others to consider.

BEAUTIFUL AFFAIR wasn't seen to best effect when strong in the betting on debut over C&D last month and rates a likely contender. Electric Beauty and Love Sonnet also made eye-catching debuts in the same maiden and they head the dangers.

Preference is for ELECTRIC BEAUTY who really caught the eye on debut here last month and should go very close
Class & Speed Card

DESERT MASTER did well to hold on at Southwell and a 5lb penalty may not be enough to prevent Antony Brittain's charge from landing a third career success. Three Beauz has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of her second over C&D on New Year's Day, while Beneficiary arrives on the back of scoring over further at Southwell last week.

BENEFICIARY left the impression he had a bit up his sleeve when fending off 9 rivals in a Southwell handicap last week and with the drop back to 5f holding no fears, he rates a lead player once more. Fellow last-time-out winner Desert Master is another likely type, with Three Beauz and Beaumadier others to note.

Provided he doesn't go off too fast with one or two others, recent Southwell winner DESERT MASTER may come out on top.
Class & Speed Card

The handicapper hasn't much to judge EAGLES WHISTLE on and perhaps the daughter of Free Eagle has been let in off a lenient mark in her first handicap. She was never involved in two turf outings on testing ground before keeping on well over 7f when switched to this venue last month. Beauty Bella won a maiden over C&D early last year and drops back down to a mile following a promising first effort for her current yard last month, while Golden Days has gained all her wins over 7f but is worth a try at this trip. The John McConnell-trained pair Turbo Sprint and Royal Tribute are two to consider at the bottom of the handicap.

C&D winner BEAUTY BELLA ran well starting out for this yard when fourth in a handicap over further here 23 days ago and with her rider taking off a handy 5 lb, she could be worth chancing to build on that with victory. Golden Days and Royal Tribute arrive in good form and are live dangers along with Turbo Sprint. Arthur Rose is another not to be giving up on.

Probably the weaker of the two divisions. BEAUTY BELLA could be the one after a promising yard debut and her previous win came over C&D
Class & Speed Card

SIR MAXI caught the eye when finishing a staying-on second over this trip at Southwell last week and, off an unchanged mark, Sam England's charge looks the one to side with. Punters will need to be in a forgiving mood with Nevernay after his lacklustre display at Southwell, but his rating is fast becoming attractive and his turn in the winner's enclosure may not be far away. The step back to 6f could help C&D winner Tomorrow Day be seen to better effect.

SIR MAXI was a good second at Southwell last week and gets the vote off the same mark. Fircombe Hall continues to hold his form well and rates the main threat ahead of Tomorrow Day.

The 7yo FIRCOMBE HALL is holding his form well and returning to Newcastle's stiff 6f will suit him down to the ground.
Class & Speed Card

HIGHER KINGDOM has won three times over this C&D for current connections, including when dropping right down to a career-low rating on his penultimate start. The selection, who was racing off a mark of 80 just over a year ago, was subsequently far from disgraced despite a tardy start after getting upset in the stalls. Cousin Shay also scored on his second-last outing over C&D, while L'Immortale ran a cracker when only giving best in the closing stages behind Trishuli River over an extended 1m2f in November. Aljadel won twice on the all-weather for Richard Hughes and has dropped down to an attractive mark after four outings for current connections in recent months.

RECLAIM doesn't have many miles on the clock for a 5-y-o and didn't shape at all badly with a view to stepping back up in trip when midfield in a 7f handicap 23 days ago. He shades the vote operating from a career-low mark, with Higher Kingdom and L'Immortale others fancied to feature.

\bCOUSIN SHAY\ goes well at this venue and made a winning start for this yard. He disappointed last time but could still be well treated
Class & Speed Card

MY BOY JACK was last seen finishing an excellent second after conceding first run to the winner at Southwell last week and he could prove tough to beat provided the cards fall right this time. Fortunate Star has been running consistently well over the minimum trip and another prominent showing back up to 6f would come as no surprise. Captain Vallo races off the same mark as when third over C&D last month and he could go well too.

KING OF THE JUNGLE pulled clear of the rest when only just denied here on New Year's Day and can resume winning ways off a similar mark. My Boy Jack hit the bar again when just failing at Southwell last week so must be respected, with the thriving Fortunate Star another to consider.

This may go the way of FORTUNATE STAR who has been running well over 5f and should be fine at 6f. This might not be strongly run.
Class & Speed Card

DAHAB has been placed on a number of occasions and deserves a winning turn. The selection was second to Naturally Nimble over 1m2f at Navan in September and again filled the runner-up spot on his latest two starts at this venue, including the mile maiden won by Aratayvo, with Wrob And Wryan and Whisper A Prayer among a number of these behind. Sacred Oath merits respect on her second to Genoah over C&D but subsequently disappointed and is now fitted with cheekpieces. Quatrain is closely matched with Whisper A Prayer on their running behind Touch The Sound here over a mile, while Bloom Vega is another to consider.

DAHAB arrives on the back of a pair of solid runner-up efforts here last month and more of the same could be enough to see him deservedly get off the mark back at this longer trip. Bloom Vega and Sacred Oath head up the dangers, whilst it will be interesting what the market makes of Temple City on debut for Denis Hogan.

It may be worth giving a chance to SACRED OATH who was narrowly denied over C&D 2 starts ago and may bounce back with cheekpieces on
Ths is the racecard key.
