1st (7) ( )Kilnesare Flight |
() | (7) Kilnesare Flight , Travelled strongly on a very promising debut, possibly hitting the front too soon when second, beaten 3/4l, in a bumper at Carlisle last time. Effective over 2m1f and acts on heavy. More to come now hurdling. Runner-up in a point and a bumper; can make his presence felt again on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ( )Next Twist |
() | (1) Next Twist , Went clear with ease and outclassed rivals when winning a maiden hurdle at Southwell by 6l last time. Effective over 2m and acts on good to soft. Progressive type with more to come and could defy a penalty for his top yard. Beat a next-time-out winner fairly comfortably at Southwell in November; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ( )Bras D'or |
() | (4) Bras D'or , Travelled well but had too much to do and was not given a hard time when second, beaten 5l, in a novice hurdle at Ludlow last time. Effective over 2m and acts on soft and good to soft. Debut form strong and should be winning soon. Clear second to useful rival in big-field Ludlow novice last month; major player here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ( )Triple Crown Ted |
() | (2) Triple Crown Ted , Improved for debut experience when winning a novice hurdle at Kelso by 4l last time. Returns from a short break; effective over 2m and handles soft and good ground. Form has taken knocks, so more needed to defy a penalty. Kelso novice winner in November; carries the penalty in a stronger race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ( )Ck O'mara |
() | (5) Ck O'mara , Outpaced but showed improvement from debut when down the field in a novice hurdle here last time. Likely to need more time to develop. Well beaten at huge odds in two C&D novice hurdles towards the end of last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ( )Coylton King |
() | (6) Coylton King , Fell just before race developed in a maiden hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft. Yet to match bumper form and may be one for handicaps over further. Has made a disappointing start to his hurdling career and remains best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ( )Bennys Jenny |
() | (9) Bennys Jenny , Never threatened when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Kelso last time. A 3m point winner but yet to fire under rules. Soundly beaten on both hurdling starts, latterly on seasonal/stable debut in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) ( )Belvedere Bhoy |
() | (3) Belvedere Bhoy , Fell early in a maiden hurdle at Kelso last time. Well fancied on bumper debut but yet to show much under rules. Always behind on hurdle debut and was an early faller on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) ( )Luckie Devil |
() | (8) Luckie Devil , Below form when fourth, beaten 22l, in a maiden bumper at Kelso last time. Trainer in form and returns from a long layoff. Effective over 2m1f on good ground and may do better now switched to hurdles. Showed ability in bumpers last year but makes hurdling debut after 251-day absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) ( )Breaking Ground |
() | (10) Breaking Ground , Again ran to a moderate level when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Perth last time. Wears a hood for the first time. Effective over 3m in points and now stepping back up in trip. Struggled in two Perth hurdles last summer; returns from a break with hood added. |

Next Twist and Triple Crown Ted both arrive on the back of comprehensive wins and are entitled to respect under their penalties, but the vote goes to BRAS D'OR. David Pipe's charge made a pleasing start to life over hurdles at Cheltenham and was far from disgraced in behind the now 130-rated Un Sens A La Vie at Ludlow next time. With less on his plate, he can shed the maiden tag. Kilnesare Flight is well worth a second look too.

Olly Murphy's NEXT TWIST was quite impressive at Southwell in November and the form has been franked by the runner-up since.

1st (2) (8/15 -47%)Dream Shadow |
8/15(-47%) | (2) Dream Shadow 8/15, Went clear with ease and ran to form when stepped up in trip to win a novice hurdle at Warwick by 6 1/2l last time. Effective from 2m to 2m3f and acts on good to soft and good ground. This longer trip may suit and debut form has been franked at Listed level so holds strong claims. Won comfortably by over 6f at Warwick (2m3f) in November and commands respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 +38%)Just Her Type |
5/2(+38%) | (1) Just Her Type 5/2, Showed a willing attitude and improved again when stepped up in trip to win a handicap hurdle at Southwell by a length last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on soft and good ground. Progressive but faces a stiff task off big weight. Won a handicap last month and is now 2-8 over hurdles; no easy task under 12lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/2 +21%)Lets Mingle |
11/2(+21%) | (4) Lets Mingle 11/2, Did a bit too much too soon when taken on up front and finished fourth, beaten 18l, in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time. Effective from 2m to 2m6f and acts on soft and good ground. Previously consistent, with an excuse for her latest run and earlier form franked. Below form in 3m handicap last month but has possibilities if back on song here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (50/1 -25%)Just An Artist |
50/1(-25%) | (3) Just An Artist 50/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle at Doncaster last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft ground. The form of her earlier win has been franked, but she needs to bounce back. Shock winner at Perth (2m) in October but pulled up over 2m3f the following month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (100/1 -52%)Largy Rose |
100/1(-52%) | (6) Largy Rose 100/1, Produced a promising effort when runner-up, beaten 1 1/2l, in a maiden at Kirkistown on her only start. Returns from a short break and faces a stiff task on hurdle debut. Bought for 10,000gns after finishing second on Irish point debut in November; rules debut. |

DREAM SHADOW bumped into a subsequent Listed winner on her hurdling debut before duly obliging at Warwick. The seven-year-old should have plenty more to offer and has been found an excellent opportunity to double up. Tom Broughton gets on well with dual hurdles winner Just Her Type and she cannot be discounted, while Lets Mingle is expected to give her running.

Useful bumper performer DREAM SHADOW was second to a subsequent Listed winner on her hurdle debut and has won comfortably since.

1st (5) (9/4 -20%)Soaring Sun |
9/4(-20%) | (5) Soaring Sun 9/4, Ran to form when third, beaten 2l, in a handicap here last time; effective from 8f to 12f on the all-weather; solid chance back in a maiden. Solid 1m2f form here of late; contender if staying this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (25/1 -25%)Tyraxes |
25/1(-25%) | (9) Tyraxes 25/1, Never threatened from off the pace when down the field in a maiden here last time; effective over 12f on the all-weather and could be a contender if bouncing back. Mild promise in Britain for A Balding but C&D yard debut in November was poor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (33/1 -32%)Jet Renegade |
33/1(-32%) | (2) Jet Renegade 33/1, Tried in a hood when well beaten in a Leopardstown bumper last time; hard to recommend making this Flat debut. Mild promise in bumpers, notably at Galway in October; best watched on Flat debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (12/1 -20%)Kidam Roque |
12/1(-20%) | (3) Kidam Roque 12/1, Some promise on debut beaten 6 1/4l in a maiden here last time; effective 12f on AW; possible improver. Okay C&D Flat debut last month when hooded; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (1/2 +60%)Dancingondiamonds |
1/2(+60%) | (7) Dancingondiamonds 1/2, Some promise on debut beaten 7 1/4l in a maiden at Killarney on debut; trainer in form; effective 8f on G; improvement possible up in trip. Debut promise in May; gelded since and won't have to improve too much to play major role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (33/1 +18%)Miners Cabin |
33/1(+18%) | (8) Miners Cabin 33/1, Met trouble and had too much to do when well beaten in a Naas juvenile hurdle last time; difficult to fancy switching to the Flat. Well held in both recent hurdle runs; hard to fancy switched to Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (20/1 -67%)Battling Siki |
20/1(-67%) | (6) Battling Siki 20/1, 40,000gns Churchill gelding; dam was smart and Listed-placed over 14f; looks up against it on Flat debut. Unraced for the late Kevin Prendergast; bought for 4,600gns in July; market best guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (25/1 -56%)Kings Gesture |
25/1(-56%) | (4) Kings Gesture 25/1, Matched debut effort when beaten 8 1/4l in a maiden here last time; stays 12f on the all-weather and could yet progress. Some C&D promise but too keen back in trip here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (200/1 +0%)Crab Road |
200/1(+0%) | (1) Crab Road 200/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Limerick last time; faces a stiff task on this Flat debut and makes little appeal. Poor form in maiden hurdles, easily overlooked on Flat debut. |

DANCINGONDIAMONDS hasn't been seen since his May debut, but ran nicely and will be ready for his return in an ordinary maiden. Out of an unraced half-sister to two black type performers, he was purchased for 220,000 euros at a breeze-up sale in May 2024 and while he has clearly had problems since and wears a tongue-tie, he showed ability in a Killarney maiden that has worked out well. The dependable Soaring Sun goes back up in trip, but should stay as he finished midfield in a heavy-ground Curragh maiden over this distance in November. Jet Renegade has reasonable bumper form and is race-fit.

A weak maiden in which DANCINGONDIAMONDS could be good enough to see off the more exposed Soaring Sun

1st (1) (15/2 +12%)Tarbat Ness |
15/2(+12%) | (1) Tarbat Ness 15/2, Won by 2 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Catterick on his penultimate start; disappointing on hurdles return when sixth beaten 24l off 100 last time, 40lb lower here. Consistent in both codes and suited by 2-3m; effective on this surface and not ruled out after after a short break. Form figures of 22121 in last five Flat attempts; won comfortably the final time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/2 0%)Dollar's Dream |
9/2(0%) | (4) Dollar's Dream 9/2, Outpaced but ran to form when seeing out the longer trip, beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Usually held up; effective 12-14f on this surface; could build on a promising handicap debut now stepped up in trip. Signs of improvement last time (handicap debut); may build on that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/4 +8%)Billy Bathgate |
11/4(+8%) | (2) Billy Bathgate 11/4, Won by 1 1/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton three starts back; ran to form when fifth beaten 5 1/4l off 58 last time, same mark here. Trainer in form; effective 14-16f; consistent and should give a good account once more. Dual C&D winner last year; unsuited by drop back to 12.5f most recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (3/1 -9%)Arcimboldo |
3/1(-9%) | (8) Arcimboldo 3/1, Outpaced and never threatened when comfortably held in a handicap at Southwell last time, though in good form prior. Effective at 2m and acts on this surface; stays well and looked a bit unlucky penultimate start, considered a threat. Maiden; form dipped last time; consistent efforts otherwise for current yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (6/1 +14%)Young Merlin |
6/1(+14%) | (5) Young Merlin 6/1, Outpaced but ran to form when third beaten 5l in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle on latest outing. Visor on for the first time; effective 2m-2m2f and proven on this surface; mark could be generous based on jumps form; could run well back on the level. Chance of winning may depend on how well he responds to new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/2 -10%)Tupero |
11/2(-10%) | (6) Tupero 11/2, Outpaced but ran to form when comfortably held in a maiden at Wolverhampton last time. Cheekpieces first time; top course jockey booked; effective at 12f; type to do better handicapping over further. May do better now handicapping, upped in trip and fitted with headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (50/1 -52%)Inspire Hope |
50/1(-52%) | (3) Inspire Hope 50/1, Outpaced and never threatened down the field in a handicap hurdle at Kelso last time. Wears a visor first time; effective over 1m3f on the Flat and 2m over hurdles; in poor form in both codes of late. Chance depends on how well she responds to tongue-tie and visor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (40/1 +20%)Khangai |
40/1(+20%) | (7) Khangai 40/1, Never threatened and ran well below form when comfortably held in a classified race at Southwell last time. Effective 10-16f and probably handles any surface, though not the most resolute; form has dipped since returning to the all-weather. Has a doubt over current form and the trip to some extent. |

Already a dual C&D scorer, the Ewan Whillans-trained 10-year-old BILLY BATHGATE is only 3lb above his last winning mark, which came just last month, and his proven liking for Tapeta is a big asset in this company. Arcimboldo has shown promise since joining Mike Sowersby and is feared more than the code-switching pair Tarbat Ness and Young Merlin, whose previous form on synthetic surfaces is modest at best.

With improvement plausible, interesting handicap debutant TUPERO gets the vote. Dollar's Dream is second pick.

1st (4) (11/2 +39%)Shoeshine Boy |
11/2(+39%) | (4) Shoeshine Boy 11/2, Fell in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby last time when beaten; trainer is in good form; effective over 3m and suited by plenty of cut in the ground; fairly treated and looks to be returning to form until latest. Not getting any younger but last month's C&D second was a good effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (15/2 +46%)Maura Jeanne |
15/2(+46%) | (6) Maura Jeanne 15/2, Travelled well but found little and ran to form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time; usually held up; effective at 3m and handles soft and good ground; in fair form though her mark demands more. C&D winner last year; below form last time but has claims if judged on earlier Hexham run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3/1 -50%)Kelvin Forlonge |
3/1(-50%) | (1) Kelvin Forlonge 3/1, Improved up in trip and down in grade when landing a handicap by 3 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark here last time; effective over 3m and unexposed at staying trips, with scope to progress further. Clearcut C&D winner when upped in trip for last month's handicap debut; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (11/1 +31%)Better Be Definite |
11/1(+31%) | (8) Better Be Definite 11/1, Made mistakes and was never put into the race when fourth, beaten 24l, in a handicap hurdle at Kelso last time after a short break; unsuited by the drop in trip; well treated on old form; effective at 3m and can bounce back when stepped back up in distance. Returned from long layoff with fairly encouraging run but seems best on good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (12/1 +0%)Piaff Bubbles |
12/1(+0%) | (2) Piaff Bubbles 12/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time; usually held up; best around 3m and handles soft ground; had been consistent prior to that run. Placed on seasonal debut but pulled up since; headgear switched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (28/1 +58%)Nae Bother At A' |
28/1(+58%) | (10) Nae Bother At A' 28/1, Made mistakes and may not have stayed when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Perth last time; drop in trip could suit better in time. Well beaten on handicap debut in June; now with new stable; 7lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (7/1 -100%)Holly Bird |
7/1(-100%) | (7) Holly Bird 7/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 4l, in a handicap hurdle at Catterick last time, benefitting from first-time cheekpieces; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and finding form at a modest level while longer trip could suit. Second in first-time cheekpieces last month; moves up from 2m3f; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (50/1 -52%)Blue Indigo |
50/1(-52%) | (9) Blue Indigo 50/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Hexham last time; effective over 2m5f on good ground and may improve now entering handicaps but needs to. Showed nothing more than minor promise in four novice/maiden hurdles; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (7/2 -17%)Gather Yourself |
7/2(-17%) | (5) Gather Yourself 7/2, Travelled well and returned to form when 12l third in a handicap hurdle at Navan last time; fair mark on best Irish form; effective from 2m6f to 3m but can be inconsistent. Good third at Navan last month and Sean Bowen takes the ride; high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (17/2 +39%)Monsieur Le Fuzz |
17/2(+39%) | (3) Monsieur Le Fuzz 17/2, Never travelled and looked lazy when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time; tongue-tie fitted for the first time; prefers 3m and acts on soft and good ground; still early in his career and needs to bounce back. Narrow C&D winner in March but has not fired on either appearance this season. |

A confident vote goes to KELVIN FORLONGE, who made a mockery of his opening mark to score over C&D at the start of December. He was raised 6lb for that performance, but conditions might not be too dissimilar here. He's completely unexposed at this sort of trip and is expected to take another step forward. Irish raider Gather Yourself merits the utmost respect in the hands of Sean Bowen, while Shoeshine Boy wouldn't be without a chance if putting a recent fall behind him.

There could still be a fair bit more to come from KELVIN FORLONGE (nap), who won over C&D on last month's handicap debut.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (4/1 +20%)Una Matata |
4/1(+20%) | (5) Una Matata 4/1, Scored by 1/2l off a 8lb lower mark here penultimate start; ran to form last time, 2lb higher here; top course trainer; effective 7/8f, acts on AW; good chance once again. In fine form of late over C&D; up 12lb since joining the yard but remains of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

6/1(+20%) | (7) Lahore Da King 6/1, Improved again when landing a handicap by 1/2l off an 8lb lower mark here last time; effective at 7-8f on all-weather; could progress further. Up 15lb for two recent wins over 7f; tough enough task from this draw. |

33/1(-136%) | (10) Comfort Line 33/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l in a claimer here last time; effective at 7-8f on all-weather; needs to find a bit more. Claimed for 5,000euros last month; wide draw not ideal and opposable back in a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (16/1 +0%)Aratayvo |
16/1(+0%) | (3) Aratayvo 16/1, Up in trip and didn't stay when well beaten in a handicap here last time; tongue-tie first time; off a short break; effective at 8f on the all-weather; drop in trip should suit. Too keen of late; tongue-tied now and back to 1m; nice mark. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (16/1 -33%)Magna Gee Gee |
16/1(-33%) | (14) Magna Gee Gee 16/1, Ran to form but didn't stay when beaten 4l in a handicap here last time; effective at 10-11f on all-weather; mark continues to ease and drop in trip may help. Handicapper giving him every chance; interesting back in trip although draw a negative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (125/1 -150%)Urban War |
125/1(-150%) | (2) Urban War 125/1, Below form when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown last time; effective up to 10f on the Flat and handles a sound surface; difficult to fancy. Mild promise in recent maiden hurdles, hard to see him making an impact back on the level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (40/1 -43%)Hurricane Helen |
40/1(-43%) | (6) Hurricane Helen 40/1, Again below form when beaten 6l in a handicap here last time; off a short break; effective from 8-10f on a sound surface; difficult to fancy. Recent C&D efforts leave her with a fair bit to find mind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (16) (66/1 -200%)Smaoineamh Sile |
66/1(-200%) | (16) Smaoineamh Sile 66/1, Below form down the field in a handicap here last time; visor first time; enjoys racing prominently; effective from 8-10f on all-weather; inconsistent and needs to bounce back. Hung left when never counting over C&D last Friday; reserve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (1) (125/1 -279%)Stonking |
125/1(-279%) | (1) Stonking 125/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Limerick last time; best over about 12f on the all-weather; has something to prove. Pulled up on both recent runs over hurdles; wide draw and inadequate trip negatives. |

The well-bred BINT MAJESTIC ROI sprung a surprise over C&D and might build on that. Out of a half-sister to a 2000 Guineas runner-up and the granddaughter of a Group 1 winner, she was initially rated 74 and had been frustrating, but found her niche here last month. She is 5lb higher and reopposes runner-up Una Matata, but is open to more progression. Lahore Da King's regular veteran apprentice rider is out of commission due to suspension and while he won well in December, he is by Sands Of Mali so stepping up to a mile is a concern.

Lots with chances but perhaps there may be more to come from recent shock C&D winner BINT MAJESTIC ROI

1st (4) (4/1 +0%)Teardrops |
4/1(+0%) | (4) Teardrops 4/1, Scored by a head off a 3lb lower mark here on his penultimate start. Every chance and ran to form when fifth beaten 6l off 55 last time, running from the same mark here. Effective at 6/7f and acts on all-weather; a stiff 6f and strong pace would help, but his mark demands more. Dual C&D winner; not disgraced when fifth over C&D last time; ought to be in shake-up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (17/2 -89%)Sibyl Charm |
17/2(-89%) | (1) Sibyl Charm 17/2, All but refused and was never in the race when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time. Off a short break; effective over 6/7f and acts on a sound surface. Back on her last winning mark but remains inconsistent. C&D winner; very slowly away when eighth over C&D in November; very much considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/4 +10%)Profit Street |
9/4(+10%) | (3) Profit Street 9/4, Scored by 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Wolverhampton three starts back. Ran to form when second beaten a neck off 56 last time, 1lb higher here. Effective at 6/7f and acts on a sound surface. Back in form and should go well again. Thriving for current yard; excellent Lingfield second 13 days ago; big shout nudged up 1lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (5/1 +38%)Bad Habits |
5/1(+38%) | (7) Bad Habits 5/1, Scored by a length off a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start. Possibly hit the front too soon when fourth beaten 2 1/2l off 54 last time, running from the same mark here. Trainer in form; effective at 6/7f and best on all-weather. A consistent sort. Did well when fourth at Southwell latest given he helped set a strong pace; in the picture. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (18/1 -140%)Court Of Session |
18/1(-140%) | (6) Court Of Session 18/1, Produced best work late and ran to form when beaten 1 1/2l off this mark at Southwell last time. Effective from 5f to 8f and acts on a sound surface. Inconsistent and on a long losing run. On very long losing run but good runner-up at Southwell nine days ago; weighted to go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (7/2 +36%)Penny Mountain |
7/2(+36%) | (5) Penny Mountain 7/2, Scored by 2l off a 4lb lower mark here on her penultimate start. Ran to form when third beaten 1 1/4l off 55 last time, running from the same mark here. Effective at 6f and acts on all-weather. Progressing of late and still looks fairly treated. C&D winner; good C&D third only three days ago so she can make her presence felt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (9/1 -13%)Spun To Gold |
9/1(-13%) | (2) Spun To Gold 9/1, Scored by a nose off this mark here in November. Every chance but below form when sixth beaten 7l off 59 last time. Has a top course jockey; effective at 6/7f and acts on good, good to soft and all-weather surfaces. Disappointing in recent runs but dangerous if returning to form off last winning mark. A two-time C&D scorer but he arrives under something of a cloud. |

Bad Habits and Court Of Session are being kept busy and have each-way prospects, although TEARDROPS and Penny Mountain are suggested as the pair to focus on. The latter was a ready winner over track and trip on her penultimate start and wasn't beaten far when third back here on Saturday. However, Richard Spencer's gelding is less exposed and may have benefited from being given a bit more of a break since his bid for a C&D hat-trick went awry.

Recent excellent Lingfield second PROFIT STREET hasn't looked back since joining James Owen and can bag a second success for the yard.

1st (2) (5/2 -127%)Meetmebythesea |
5/2(-127%) | (2) Meetmebythesea 5/2, Won a handicap chase at Wetherby by 1/2l last time after a short break. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and handles soft and good to soft ground. Debut form has been franked at Graded level, with plenty more to come over fences and likely to stay further in time. Useful novice hurdler last season; won Wetherby handicap on chase debut; good prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/1 +30%)Dedicated Hero |
7/1(+30%) | (4) Dedicated Hero 7/1, Disappointed when stepped back up in trip and well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Aintree last time. Effective between 2m and 3m, though his previous Grade 2 win looks a weak piece of form. Must bounce back on chase debut. G2 novice hurdle winner; not progressing in handicaps but still of interest on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (8/13 +51%)Fingle Bridge |
8/13(+51%) | (1) Fingle Bridge 8/13, Made mistakes but was untested as a sole rival fell when winning a beginners' chase at Uttoxeter by a length last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and handles soft ground. Should improve further over fences and remains a leading threat. Won Listed novice hurdle last season and has made promising start to chasing career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (22/1 -10%)From The Clouds |
22/1(-10%) | (5) From The Clouds 22/1, Improved for the switch to fences despite an absence when second, beaten 7l, in a handicap chase here last time. Effective around 2m and handles heavy and soft ground. A progressive type capable of further improvement as a chaser. Second in C&D handicap on chasing debut; needs a good step forward today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (33/1 -106%)Big John Wayne |
33/1(-106%) | (3) Big John Wayne 33/1, Improved despite modest jumping when second, beaten 3l, in a novice hurdle at Worcester last time. Returns from a long absence. Effective from 2m4f to 2m7f on soft and good to soft ground, and should have more to offer over fences but likely to find this sharp enough test back from lay off. Promising novice hurdler in 2024 but makes chasing debut after a long absence. |

An interesting clash between FINGLE BRIDGE and Meetmebythesea, with preference for the former. Olly Murphy's gelding was unbeaten over hurdles, with a Listed success at Exeter the highlight, especially given how the form has worked out. He returned to the same venue for his chasing bow when second to Lulamba before being left alone in a match at Uttoxeter and this appeals as a decent opportunity to continue his progression. Meetmebythesea was also a useful hurdler who scored on his chasing debut at Wetherby, while Big John Wayne looks the pick of the remainder.

It's not easy to choose between Fingle Bridge and MEETMEBYTHESEA, who have already shown very useful form over fences.

1st (4) (10/1 -43%)Another Day Done |
10/1(-43%) | (4) Another Day Done 10/1, Produced his most reliable form to date when beaten 4 1/2l in a nursery here on handicap debut last time. Wears a visor for the first time. Trainer in form. Effective over 7f and acts on the all-weather; further may suit this big colt with a 10f pedigree. Visor now fitted and could have more to offer upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (10/1 +38%)Grey Sands |
10/1(+38%) | (10) Grey Sands 10/1, Below form well beaten in a maiden here latest; trainer in form; tongue-tie first time; off a short-break; some speed in pedigree but dam a 1m4f winner; may do better handicapping. Nothing in maidens; tongue-tied now for handicap debut and market only guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/4 +10%)Apiary |
9/4(+10%) | (7) Apiary 9/4, Had plenty to do but ran at least to form when beaten a head off a 2lb lower mark here last time on handicap debut. Effective at 7f and acts on the all-weather. Looks competitively handicapped. Just denied on recent handicap debut over 7f; could take the beating now upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/1 -13%)Arcabulle |
9/1(-13%) | (1) Arcabulle 9/1, Probably raced too close to a strong pace when finishing down the field in a maiden here last time. Cheekpieces go on for the first time. Effective over 6f to 7f on the all-weather but has a bit to prove after a modest effort latest. Tame recent maiden effort here; upped in trip for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (11/2 +50%)Sapphire Dream |
11/2(+50%) | (11) Sapphire Dream 11/2, Ran to recent level tried in a visor when fourth beaten 4 1/2l in a nursery here latest; effective 6-7f; modest form so far, longer trip may not suit judged on breeding. More encouraging in a visor last time; 5lb wrong here though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (4/1 +43%)Divelment |
4/1(+43%) | (2) Divelment 4/1, Fair run off a break when beaten 7 1/4l in a two-year-old race here last time. Effective over 7f to 8f on the all-weather and generally consistent. Should improve for the reappearance. Some Turf promise but safely held over C&D last month; opening mark looks on the high side. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (14/1 -40%)Stolen Treasure |
14/1(-40%) | (9) Stolen Treasure 14/1, Ran to form down in trip when beaten 3 1/4l off a 4lb higher mark here last time. Effective at 6f on the all-weather, though the mark looks only fair. Some promise last month; 4lb lower now and steps up in trip so could improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (13/2 +46%)Dawn Flame |
13/2(+46%) | (5) Dawn Flame 13/2, Again well held when beaten 8l in an auction race here last time. Returns from a break and probably needs further than 6f. Looks one for handicaps. Moderate form in three maidens last autumn; opposable off this mark on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (66/1 -230%)No More Hiding |
66/1(-230%) | (3) No More Hiding 66/1, Disappointed when dropped in trip and finished down the field in a maiden here last time. Has a stout pedigree and may do better back up in distance now switching to handicaps. Trip too short last time; potential improver upped in trip for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (20/1 0%)Iryna's Star |
20/1(0%) | (8) Iryna's Star 20/1, Settled better and showed minor improvement from the previous start when beaten 10l in a maiden here last time. Quite speedily bred and a strong type but yet to show reliable form. Little in maidens last month; market best guide upped in trip on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (12/1 -85%)Guildhall Graduate |
12/1(-85%) | (6) Guildhall Graduate 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 4l in a maiden here last time. Effective over 7f to 8f on the all-weather and a consistent performer. Maiden runs here at 7f suggest this longer trip will suit on handicap debut. |

APIARY was well supported when failing by a head on her handicap debut and having seen out 7f well, she should stay this trip. Out of a well-related winning mare, she didn't show much prior to her recent run and was beaten in a claimer in November, but is now open to plenty more progression. Arcabulle showed promise on debut but has disappointed recently, while Another Day Done finished behind the selection in December and is now tried in a first-time visor.

Just denied when coming home strongly here last month, the extra furlong could see APIARY go one better now

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/3 +44%)Clonquest |
10/3(+44%) | (2) Clonquest 10/3, Showed significant late gains after not being put into the race when beaten 6 1/2l in a novice here on debut. Effective at 7f, will stay further, acts on all-weather; open to marked improvement. Shaped well on his debut when C&D fifth; son of Ulysses can take a sizeable step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (8/1 -23%)Somebody |
8/1(-23%) | (5) Somebody 8/1, Below form when back up in trip, finishing fourth beaten 9l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Stiff 6f may suit best; acts on all-weather and a drop back in distance looks appropriate. Is 0-12 and only fourth of five at Southwell ten days ago; needs to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/11 +55%)Lakota Chief |
10/11(+55%) | (4) Lakota Chief 10/11, 35,000 euros breeze-up purchase by Sioux Nation; half-brother to Nellie Leylax, smart at 8f; dam useful at 7f at 2yo. Top jockey booked and yard can get them ready first time. Closely related to an AW winner; this Sioux Nation newcomer rates an interesting prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (16/1 -220%)Evolve |
16/1(-220%) | (3) Evolve 16/1, Out-kicked and finished as if wanting further when fourth beaten 2l in a novice here last time. From a top course trainer; although sprint-bred, 7f may suit on all-weather; more to come, especially up in trip. Dream Ahead colt who has shown modest form shown in his two runs; may do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (50/1 -488%)Populus |
50/1(-488%) | (9) Populus 50/1, Made minor late headway when beaten 5l in a maiden here last time. Bred for 6/7f and acts on all-weather; progressing steadily. Still green when fifth here last time; first start under the care of Stephen Hanlon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (7/1 +13%)Star Of Emerald |
7/1(+13%) | (6) Star Of Emerald 7/1, 8,000 euros Recoletos colt; half-brother to Beautiful Heroine, high-class at 10f; trainer in form. A half-brother to five winners; this son of Recoletos is very much one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (40/1 0%)Evelyn's Garden |
40/1(0%) | (7) Evelyn's Garden 40/1, Time Test filly; full-sister to Times Ticking, useful at 8f as a 2yo; dam useful at 7f; faces a tough enough task on debut. Time Test filly; the betting can prove an accurate guide to this newcomer. |

300/1(-140%) | (11) Thependleburyfox 300/1, Missed the break and was always outpaced when well beaten in a maiden here on her only start. Sprint-bred and has plenty to prove. Failed to beat a rival in maiden here on her debut 25 days ago; significantly more needed. |

10th (10) (200/1 -203%)Spirit Of Tokyo |
200/1(-203%) | (10) Spirit Of Tokyo 200/1, 1,500gns Sergei Prokofiev filly; half-sister to Albert Camus, very useful at 12f; faces a tough enough task on debut. Sergei Prokofiev filly; the market can guide for this debutante. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (250/1 -279%)Chin Chin Ginny |
250/1(-279%) | (1) Chin Chin Ginny 250/1, Too green to show anything on debut when well beaten in a maiden here on her only start. Returns from a long absence and has plenty to find. Off for 13 months since coming in last of seven on her debut in 6f maiden here. |

Somebody has filled the runner-up berth in five of his 12 previous starts and scores highly for reliability. However, he was well held when upped to 7f at Southwell and needs to settle better if he is going to get home over this stiffer course. EVOLVE, by contrast, was in the process of rallying when finishing fourth over 6f here and stepping up a furlong could be ideal at this stage. Maria Da Silva and Populus are also potential improvers.

Archie Watson has his string in good nick and his Sioux Nation newcomer LAKOTA CHIEF, who is bred to be above average, gets the nod

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/1 +44%)Rob Roy Macgregor |
5/1(+44%) | (5) Rob Roy Macgregor 5/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced when below form in first-time visor, well beaten in a handicap chase here last time. Returns from a short break; effective at 3m, acts with cut; yet to build on a promising chase debut. Safely held over C&D in November but that was after a break; still unexposed over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/2 +0%)Jirko |
5/2(+0%) | (4) Jirko 5/2, No match for the winner but ran to form when second, beaten 13l, in a handicap chase here last time. Effective at 3m and in good form since switching to fences. Placed in both chases, more recently when second over C&D six weeks ago; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (6/1 -80%)Torosay |
6/1(-80%) | (3) Torosay 6/1, Never travelled and had too much to do after a series of errors when well beaten in a handicap chase at Carlisle last time. Effective at 3m, acts on soft and good to soft; inconsistent overall. Didn't fire last time but is probably better judged on close second over C&D two runs ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (100/1 -150%)Muroor |
100/1(-150%) | (9) Muroor 100/1, Made mistakes and may have found the ground too soft when down the field in a handicap chase here last time. Returns from a short break; effective at 3m, needs decent ground; prefers positive handling but out of form. Went close at Hexham last spring but this 13yo is far too inconsistent to rely upon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (12/1 +52%)Euchan Falls |
12/1(+52%) | (8) Euchan Falls 12/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle here last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective at 2½m and just about gets 3m; currently out of form. In poor form over hurdles this winter and has too much to prove on chase return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (20/1 +29%)Maid Of Houxty |
20/1(+29%) | (6) Maid Of Houxty 20/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Carlisle last time. Suited by 3m and acts on heavy and good to soft ground; needs to prove her ability remains after a layoff. Pulled up twice since mammoth absence; needs to prove some ability remains. |

Torosay is better judged on her C&D second rather than her subsequent Carlisle disappointment and the handicapper has aided her cause by dropping her 3lb. Jirko was no match for an easy winner here at the beginning of last month and remains capable of better, but the vote goes to chasing debutant BIG ZOUK. Nicky Richards' gelding won a point-to-point in February 2024 and the switch to fences can bring about the improvement required.

The suggestion is low-mileage 7yo BIG ZOUK, who was placed on last month's handicap debut and now makes his chasing debut.

7/2(-27%) | (3) Mount Ruapehu 7/2, Ran to best, scoring with a bit in hand when landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Newcastle last time. Effective at 5/6f and acts on all-weather; more to come. Recent Newcastle winner; also C&D winner and should go well from a favourable draw. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (25/1 +11%)Fort Star |
25/1(+11%) | (13) Fort Star 25/1, Made late gains when up in trip but was beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap here last time. Effective at 5/6f on a sound surface; others look stronger. Ran okay on return from a break over C&D last month; 3lb wrong but relatively unexposed.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (40/1 -82%)Star Allure |
40/1(-82%) | (6) Star Allure 40/1, Had the run of the race and improved but was likely flattered when 3l third in a maiden here last time. Effective 5-7f and acts on all-weather; has a chance back in a handicap. Recent maiden third makes her potentially well treated here if staying 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (14) (40/1 +0%)Spirit Of Eagles |
40/1(+0%) | (14) Spirit Of Eagles 40/1, Didn't get home when beaten 8l in a claimer here last time. Off a short break; effective 5-7f; inconsistent and on a long losing run but drop in trip should help. Win here came over two years ago (5f); good bit to find on recent form though. |

25/1(-25%) | (10) Moonhall Lass 25/1, Yard won this last year. Ran to form in a tongue-tie when beaten 3 1/4l off a 4lb higher mark here last time. Effective at 6/7f on a sound surface; still a maiden but handicapper has relented. Placed form here at 5f last season off higher marks; recent form not encouraging though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (2) (100/1 -100%)Greek Gift |
100/1(-100%) | (2) Greek Gift 100/1, Another poor run in a hood when down the field in a handicap here last time. Tongue-tie on for the first time and drawn wide; off a short break and best around 7f; has a bit to prove. Two runs for this yard have been poor, latest when hooded here in October; drops in trip. |

MOUNT RUAPEHU benefited from a big drop in the weights when successful in December and is suited by today's conditions. Rated 85 at his peak in 2023, he dropped 16lb in nine months prior to scoring at Newcastle. He has been raised 5lb for that, but should prove competitive. Platino Bianco scored on just her second start on an all-weather surface, also at Newcastle last month. Rated in the high 60s at her peak in 2024, she was well held on her only previous course run in October but bounced back to form for new connections. Ballymagreehan has been running well but drops in distance, while Sovereign Banter has good recent form.

Perhaps WINEMAKER can make a winning start for his new yard off a nice mark, despite a 5lb rise for a recent claiming run here

4/1(+27%) | (5) Azucena 4/1, Had every chance and ran to form when fourth beaten 4l in a handicap here latest. Blinkers on for the first time. Ridden by a top course jockey. Suited by 5f, acts on a sound surface, and better on all-weather though an in-and-out performer. Signed off for Ann Duffield with a creditable C&D fourth; needs shortlisting for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/4 +13%)Digital |
7/4(+13%) | (2) Digital 7/4, Scored by 3/4l off a 4lb lower mark here on his penultimate start. Ran to form when second beaten 1 1/4l off 58 last time and is 1lb higher here. Trainer in form. Effective at 5/6f, acts on all-weather, and goes well from the front. C&D winner who followed that with a very good C&D second latest; bold show on the cards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/1 +20%)Em Jay Kay |
4/1(+20%) | (1) Em Jay Kay 4/1, Scored by a nose off this mark here in November. No obvious excuse when eighth beaten 7 1/4l off 60 last time. Effective at 5/6f, acts on all-weather. Back on last winning mark and had been in form until latest. Running well until eighth last time; this course scorer can get back on track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/1 -80%)La Rochette |
9/1(-80%) | (3) La Rochette 9/1, Hinted at a return to form when down in grade, beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark here last time. Effective at 5f and her mark is easing, but she needs to build on her latest effort and is not one to rely on. On a lengthy losing sequence but solid C&D third 12 days ago; in the mix once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/2 -13%)He's An Angel |
9/2(-13%) | (4) He's An Angel 9/2, Had too much to do after meeting trouble but returned to form when beaten 1 1/4l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 5/6f and acts on all-weather. Well treated if he can build on that recent revival. Back on track when third two weeks ago; course scorer can go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (12/1 +14%)Classy Clarets |
12/1(+14%) | (6) Classy Clarets 12/1, Far too free when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Blinkers on for the first time. Effective at 5-7f and suited by all-weather, but he has lost form. Below par in pair of 6f h'caps here for new yard recently; blinkers are reached for now. |

DIGITAL has bounced back to form on his last couple of starts over C&D, winning just before Christmas before finishing second on New Year's Day. Ruth Carr's gelding makes plenty of appeal in his bid to go one better. La Rochette was one place behind the selection on the latter occasion and would be a threat if backing that performance up. Others to note are He's An Angel and Azucena.

In-form DIGITAL has been helped by reapplied cheekpieces and gets the nod to bag a second recent C&D win.

Ready course winner in November and in even better form when going close at Kelso recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (10/1 -11%)Thereisnodoubt |
10/1(-11%) | (1) Thereisnodoubt 10/1, Outpaced and unsuited by how the race developed when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby last time; effective over 2m and suited by plenty of cut; running back into form and needs a stiff test. Teenager; won here off much reduced mark last March; not in same form yet this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (125/1 -150%)Don Occhetti |
125/1(-150%) | (9) Don Occhetti 125/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle here last time; wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective over 2m and acts on a sound surface; needs to prove his ability remains after a long layoff. Pulled-up 66-1 shot here (2m4f) on recent stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (20/1 -167%)Mr Lincoln |
20/1(-167%) | (6) Mr Lincoln 20/1, Made mistakes and looked green when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Kelso last time; suited by 2m and acts on heavy and good; a threat on his Irish form but struggling for new yard after a layoff. Did not get competitive on first two stable runs; still worth a market check, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (50/1 -52%)Sao Carlos |
50/1(-52%) | (8) Sao Carlos 50/1, Up in trip and didn't stay on rain-softened ground when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle last time; effective at 2m and acts on good; form has tailed off lately. Well beaten on both starts for new stable this season and deserted by Sean Quinlan today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (40/1 -43%)Jiair Madrik |
40/1(-43%) | (4) Jiair Madrik 40/1, Ran to a poor level back from an absence when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time; effective from 2m2f to 2m4f and acts on heavy and soft; still no headgear and may need more time. Returned from long absence with 45l defeat on last month's British debut. |

A switch to more positive tactics saw HE'S BRESILIAN make all in a maiden hurdle at Newcastle. The six-year-old returns to handicap company off what looks a fair mark and a similar approach may see him follow up. Tread Softly Now arrives on the back of a close-up second at Kelso and is feared most, for all that a 4lb higher rating demands more. Dance Thief could also feature after an encouraging fifth-placed reappearance over C&D.

In-form mare TREAD SOFTLY NOW ran a big race in defeat at Kelso a fortnight ago and is taken to record her third course win.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (40/1 +50%)Lock'd Up Lane |
40/1(+50%) | (7) Lock'd Up Lane 40/1, Impeded early and made a moderate debut when well beaten in an auction race at Navan on only start. Returns from a short break and has plenty to prove until handicapping. In rear throughout when unfancied for debut; makes stable debut now but others preferred. |

25/1(+38%) | (8) Princess Chloe 25/1, Yard won this last year. Kessaar filly, half-sister to winners including Latifolia, a useful 7f performer in Qatar. Tongue-tied on debut and faces a tough task. Half-sister to Qatari 7f 2yo winner Latifolia; best watched unless market speaks. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (16/1 +0%)Cash On Black |
16/1(+0%) | (1) Cash On Black 16/1, Showed a good attitude and solid effort when beaten 7l in a maiden here on debut. By a sprinting sire out of a dam who stayed 10f; sound surfaces suit his action and he should improve. Ran keenly on debut before fading into sixth at 22-1; that's something to build on. |

There are no previous winners in this and it looks like a nice opportunity for THIS GUY to gain a deserved success. The Blue Point gelding has been placed on his three starts since joining Danny Murphy and lost out by the narrowest of margins over C&D last month. He was a solid second here subsequently and sets the standard with his mark of 74. Joseph O'Brien runs two and they look the most likely dangers. Electric Night may improve a bit from her initial effort here last month, while newcomer Passage Of Power is one to note in the market. The US-bred colt is a out of Grade 1 winner Civil Union.

This looks like a good opportunity for THIS GUY to get his well-deserved win following three placings here recently

1st (3) (4/1 -33%)Flying Fletcher |
4/1(-33%) | (3) Flying Fletcher 4/1, Ran to form when beaten a short head off a 1lb lower mark here last time for a top course trainer. Suited by 7f/1m and acts on all-weather. In good form off similar marks, though his losing run is mounting up. Short-head defeat (The Green Man third) over C&D 12 days ago; 1lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (13/8 +28%)The Green Man |
13/8(+28%) | (4) The Green Man 13/8, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark here on his penultimate start. Too much to do when ridden to see out the trip and ran to form when third, beaten 1/2l off 72 last time. 1lb higher now; effective 6-8f, acts on any surface, and looks fairly treated. Unexposed at 1m. Luckless C&D third (Flying Fletcher second) last time; could easily make amends. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (8/1 -23%)Bajan Bandit |
8/1(-23%) | (6) Bajan Bandit 8/1, Scored by 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark here in December. Ran to form when fifth, beaten 1 1/4l off 72 last time and is off the same mark here. Suited by 7f/1m and acts on all-weather. In fine form and can go well again. Consistent; had run of race when weakening fifth over C&D 12 days ago; needs more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (15/2 -36%)Criminal Shore |
15/2(-36%) | (2) Criminal Shore 15/2, Ran to form when beaten 1/2l off this mark here last time after a short break. Effective at 1m and acts on all-weather. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (7/1 -40%)Bowood |
7/1(-40%) | (1) Bowood 7/1, Scored by 3 1/4l off a 9lb lower mark here on his penultimate start. Returning from a short break; effective over 7f/1m and acts on a sound surface. Thriving over this C&D lately, but his revised mark demands more. Had excuses when seventh of ten at Southwell (1m) 53 days ago; tough mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (20/1 +39%)Lessay |
20/1(+39%) | (7) Lessay 20/1, Scored by a neck off a 2lb lower mark at Wolverhampton in December. Outpaced and never threatened when seventh, beaten 7 1/2l off 67 last time, 1lb lower here. Effective over 7f/1m and acts on all-weather; can do better but his run style requires things to drop right. 2nd here (7f) in December; less effective over further since and looks the least likeliest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (11/2 +31%)Eve's Boy |
11/2(+31%) | (5) Eve's Boy 11/2, Never threatened when poorly placed off a modest gallop, beaten 3l off a 2lb higher mark here last time. Has a top course jockey. Effective over 7f/1m and acts on all-weather; currently in moderate form. Failed to settle when seventh (behind three of these) over C&D last time. |

A C&D handicap on New Year's Day might hold the key to this contest, with Flying Fletcher faring best of those who reappear in second. However, third home THE GREEN MAN can reverse the form. Slowly away before meeting trouble when attempting to challenge, Phil Kirby's gelding may well have won and is taken to gain compensation. Criminal Shore appears best of the remainder.

A luckless third over C&D at the start of the month, THE GREEN MAN (nap) is fancied to make amends.

Gets a pull at the weights with the winner and should run well. Outran 33-1 odds when second to Coconut Man over C&D on debut two months ago. |

80/1(-220%) | (7) Oor Wish 80/1, Getaway mare; half-sister to Townhill, fair at 26f; probably best watched on debut. Half-sister to 3m-3m2f hurdle winner Townhill; seemingly the stable second string on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/1 -125%)Mcelhattan |
9/1(-125%) | (5) Mcelhattan 9/1, Improved when winning an auction point at Moig South by 4 1/2l last time. Off a short break. Point winner who could get involved on his rules debut. Bought for £42,000 after Irish point win in November; new stable does well in bumpers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (14/1 +30%)Dublinofficecallin |
14/1(+30%) | (3) Dublinofficecallin 14/1, Made a promising debut when fourth, beaten 10l behind a useful rival in a bumper at Catterick last time. Trainer in form. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft ground. Knew his job on debut but should progress a little. Shaped well when fourth on last month's rules debut at Catterick; could have a say. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (10/1 +60%)Melbourne Ghost |
10/1(+60%) | (6) Melbourne Ghost 10/1, 10,000 euros Ocovango gelding; full-brother to The Niffler, useful at 24f. Yard in good form with small number of runners. Brother to two hurdle winners; worth a glance in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (125/1 -150%)Brewdog |
125/1(-150%) | (8) Brewdog 125/1, Mahsoob gelding; full-brother to Mahpenny, useful at 17f. Dam a 3m hurdles winner. Yard quiet just now. Stoutly bred 4yo; stable 0-32 in bumpers during last five seasons. |

Having had something in hand when making a successful Rules bow over track and trip, COCONUT MAN may prove tough to crack. Reopposing runner-up Kingsman Mail is entitled to improve for that experience and should give another good account, although a bigger danger may emerge in the shape of winning pointer Mcelhattan. Donald McCain has his string in good order and market support for his Yeats gelding would be interesting.

He has a 7lb penalty to carry this time but COCONUT MAN beat Kingsman Mail fairly comfortably over C&D on his rules debut.

2nd (6) (33/1 -18%)Plushy |
33/1(-18%) | (6) Plushy 33/1, Probably went too hard early when beaten 9l in a nursery here last time. Effective over 6f on the all-weather but has a bit to prove after just one good run in her last four starts. Good maiden runs and not far behind on handicap debut here; well beaten here latest. |

4th (10) (14/1 +36%)Mr Kobe |
14/1(+36%) | (10) Mr Kobe 14/1, Below form when failing to find much in a nursery here last time. Effective between 5f and 7f on the all-weather but needs to bounce back from that run. Fourth behind Friendly Invoice on h'cap debut but poor when fav' last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 -33%)Cause I Like You |
12/1(-33%) | (7) Cause I Like You 12/1, Produced her best effort so far when fourth beaten 5 1/2l in a maiden here last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time and is effective at 5f or 6f on the all-weather. Still progressing the right way. Decent runs in m'dens here last two times; tongue-tie on for h'cap bow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (15/2 -36%)Oh Cecelia |
15/2(-36%) | (2) Oh Cecelia 15/2, Below par down in trip and up in class when beaten 5l in a 2yo race here last time. Was in good form beforehand. Best at 6f or 7f; needs to show more returning to 6f on the all-weather. Cork maiden winner hasn't really progressed; switch to this surface last time didn't help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (1/1 +75%)Battleforsupremacy |
1/1(+75%) | (4) Battleforsupremacy 1/1, Scored by a neck off a 7lb lower mark here two starts ago. Has a wide draw and is effective at 6f or 7f on the all-weather. Unlucky last time and looks fairly treated by the handicapper. AW/handicap debut winner; had excuses for sixth-place finish last time; tops shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (16/1 +43%)Commander Kabaw |
16/1(+43%) | (9) Commander Kabaw 16/1, Outpaced before making minor late gains when down the field in a maiden here last time. Cheekpieces applied for the first time. Usually held up and looks to need further than 6f on the all-weather. In rear throughout in three m'den runs here over 5f/6f; cheekpieces on now for h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (16/1 +52%)Practical Move |
16/1(+52%) | (5) Practical Move 16/1, May not have stayed 6f off a fast pace when down the field in a nursery here last time after earlier good form. Effective at 5f or 6f on the all-weather but has something to prove off her current mark in handicaps. Not disgraced in maidens and outran 50-1 odds here in Sept'; way below best last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (8/1 -7%)Dakota Dancer |
8/1(-7%) | (8) Dakota Dancer 8/1, Ran to form down in trip when beaten 8l in a maiden here last time. Likely to prefer 7f but acts on the all-weather. Could improve now switched to handicaps. Just slight promise in opening maidens and others preferred on form to date. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (18/1 -157%)The Love Machine |
18/1(-157%) | (3) The Love Machine 18/1, Raced wide and below form when beaten 7 1/2l in a nursery here last time after good earlier efforts. Has a wide draw and returns from a short break. Suited by 5f or 6f on the all-weather, though current mark looks about right. Turf winner in Oct' and decent efforts at this track since; gelded since joining new yard. |

FRIENDLY INVOICE may be able to follow up after getting off the mark over C&D in November. The Invincible Army filly showed significant improvement when scoring at a big price and looks capable of progressing judged on that performance. Nicola Burns takes the ride as connections bid to offset some of her 8lb rise. Cause I Like You has performed with credit in a couple of maidens here, at massive prices. She could be a big player now in handicap company. The Love Machine hasn't been far away here and is another to consider.

Repeatedly denied a clear run, and clipping heels last time, BATTLEFORSUPREMACY (nap) can go well with better luck

2/1(-23%) | (1) Heavenly Heather 2/1, Travelled and ran to form when landing a handicap by a length off a 4lb lower mark here last time. Effective over 6/7f and suited by a sound surface. In fine form at this venue and remains competitive despite a 4lb rise. Scored over 6f latest; could have pace to cope with dropping back to 5f (first attempt).. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (6/4 +63%)Lethal Nymph |
6/4(+63%) | (2) Lethal Nymph 6/4, Scored by a length off a 4lb lower mark here in November. Every chance when running to form to finish third, beaten 2l off 85 last time, and is 1lb lower here. Effective over 5/6f and acts on any surface, though the mark demands more. C&D winner (from 4lb lower) in November; mostly consistent since; must enter calculations.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/2 -10%)Monks Dream |
11/2(-10%) | (4) Monks Dream 11/2, Ran to form but never threatened when beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark at Southwell last time. The trainer is in form. Effective over 5/6f and acts on a sound surface, though form has been inconsistent of late. Three course wins; shaped encouragingly in added headgear at Southwell latest; noteworthy.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (15/2 +38%)Farandaway |
15/2(+38%) | (5) Farandaway 15/2, No obvious excuse when beaten 3l off a 2lb higher mark at Southwell last time. Returning from a break. Effective over 5-6f and acts on all-weather. Recent form has dipped slightly. Seeking first win (0-12); turned over in a three-runner Musselburgh novice in September.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (10/3 0%)King's Crown |
10/3(0%) | (3) King's Crown 10/3, Improved and needed every yard when landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark here last time. Effective over 5/6f and acts on all-weather. On an upward curve, and a 3lb rise could prove lenient. Notched another C&D win on New Year's Day; 3lb rise offset by redeployment of Rhys Elliott. |

Having secured a second career victory over 6f here last month, a 4lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold showing from Heavenly Heather. However, a drop to the minimum distance could leave the Shamardal mare vulnerable, with preference for recent C&D winner KING'S CROWN. The six-year-old has been in fine fettle of late and a third triumph in his last four outings is a distinct possibility. Lethal Nymph is a feasible alternative.

The claimer ridden King's Crown should be thereabouts but, with Newcastle a more suitable fit, preference is for MONKS DREAM.

15/2(-7%) | (8) Sam's Hope 15/2, Scored by 2l off a 5lb lower mark here three starts back. Didn't get home and was below form last time, now 1lb lower; wide draw. Effective at 5/6f and acts on a sound surface; needs to bounce back. Won three sprints between September and December, including C&D; off day latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (9/1 +25%)Birkenhead |
9/1(+25%) | (6) Birkenhead 9/1, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off a 1lb lower mark here last time. Returning from a break; suited by 5f and acts on any surface; in good form and likes to dominate. Multiple 5f wins, two here; off since September and tends to need the run after a break. |

3rd (2) (10/3 0%)Emperor's Son |
10/3(0%) | (2) Emperor's Son 10/3, Improved in reapplied visor landing a handicap by a length off a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time; effective 5/6f, best on a sound surface; can go well again. Unraced at Southwell but good 5f Tapeta winner at Wolverhampton latest; back up 3lb. |

4th (7) (50/1 -100%)Basholo |
50/1(-100%) | (7) Basholo 50/1, Scored by a short head off a 4lb lower mark at Wolverhampton on her penultimate start. Below form last time and runs off the same mark here; effective at 5f on all-weather; needs more on debut for new yard. Six 5f wins at Wolverhampton; has C&D form but high in weights and others more likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/4 +25%)Popular Dream |
9/4(+25%) | (4) Popular Dream 9/4, Strong at the finish when improving to land a handicap by a length off a 5lb lower mark here last time. Effective at 5f and best on all-weather; respected off his new mark. Four C&D wins; back on song last week; needs a bit more under penalty but respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (7/2 +30%)Beaumadier |
7/2(+30%) | (3) Beaumadier 7/2, Scored by 3 1/2l off a 8lb lower mark at Wolverhampton in November; ran to form when third last time, 2lb lower here; effective at 5f, acts on S, G and AW; has been in good form, could go well. Steep rise in weights for Wolverhampton win in October but H Vigors' 7lb claim is helpful. |

EMPEROR'S SON was able to build on a couple of positive efforts to score at Wolverhampton and looks to have been found another excellent chance, with Warren Fentiman's claim negating the 3lb rise incurred. A 5lb penalty asks more of Popular Dream but he merits respect, as do Beaumadier and Brazilian Belle, who were defeated by the aforementioned pair last time. There is still plenty of life in nine-year-old Birkenhead and he is by no means out of this.

The lack of course experience needn't weigh too heavily on EMPEROR'S SON (nap) and he can follow up his recent Wolverhampton win.

11/1(-22%) | (2) Timandi 11/1, Ran to form but made a move too soon and flattened out when beaten 1 1/4l in a claimer here last time; effective up to 11f; fair mark back in a handicap but unreliable. Best performance came in 1m4f course claimer last time, when a close fifth. |

11/4(+50%) | (4) Mapa 11/4, Ran to form when beaten 3l off a 2lb higher mark here last time; effective from 8f to 11f; in good form. Maiden has run well over C&D last two times; in the mix. |

66/1(-100%) | (9) Promo Queen 66/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse latest; effective from 7f to 10f; in moderate form under both codes. Nursery winner in 2023 but recent form doesn't make pleasant reading. |

33/1(-83%) | (10) Surf On Jamie 33/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a maiden here latest; effective at around 1m; yet to build on debut promise. Maiden form does not inspire any great confidence for his handicap debut; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) (66/1 -32%)Vocology |
66/1(-32%) | (13) Vocology 66/1, Below par when beaten 9l in a handicap here last time; yet to find suitable conditions and has plenty to prove. Weak m'den form and well beaten at big prices for two h'cap runs over 1m here. |

|RR| (12) (22/1 0%)Don't Look Now |
22/1(0%) | (12) Don't Look Now 22/1, Well below form when down the field in a handicap here most recently; effective around 11f; needs to find improvement. RR back from 455-day absence in June and well beaten in 2 subsequent runs. |

LIMESTONE RED looks capable of landing one of these off his mark. The Cotai Glory gelding was a solid enough fifth here and has a better draw now. He was runner-up from a low box on his penultimate outing and has also eased 1lb to the same rating. Mapa has been knocking on the door and looks like a potential danger. She was also second on her penultimate outing and ran a solid race when fourth on her most recent visit. Aingeal Dorcha may benefit from dropping back from 1m4f and was narrowly denied over track and trip on his penultimate run.

Despite a record of 1-25, the vote goes to LIMESTONE RED who has been in solid form over C&D recently

12/1(-9%) | (7) Sovereign Class 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/2l off a 1lb higher mark here last time. Effective at 6-9f on the all-weather. Unreliable but her mark is easing. 0-14; closing third (6f) on New Year's Day - that form boosted since; effective over 7f.. |

AISLING OSCAR hasn't looked back since switching to the Adrian Keatley yard and a five-timer could be on the cards. A 4lb rise in the ratings for the five-year-old's latest triumph over 1m here appears surmountable and he gets the nod over Wyvern, who arrives on the back of a C&D victory and another bold bid beckons. Fellow last-time-out winner Moyowasi completes the shortlist.

With four successive AW wins banked, the superbly placed AISLING OSCAR is still eligible for lowly 0-60s, and rates as the pick.

11th (3) (66/1 -65%)For What Its Worth |
66/1(-65%) | (3) For What Its Worth 66/1, Poor effort tried in blinkers when finishing down the field in a handicap at Lingfield last time; hard to fancy on all known evidence. Weak claims on form; change of headgear. |

LAURENS DREAM lost little in defeat when chasing home a subsequent winner at Newcastle on Friday and, kept to this level, compensation might await Mick and David Easterby's four-year-old. Zaramara needs to find some improvement, but she has few miles on the clock and is likely to appreciate an ease in class. On these terms, Headshot should make his presence felt.

Having made an encouraging classified debut four days ago, LAURENS DREAM is preferred. My Boy Jack is second pick.

66/1(-100%) | (10) Guest Star 66/1, Did not find much and ran below form when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Bellewstown most recently; returning from a break; effective around 11f on this surface; hasn't shown form for a while. C&D claimer winner in Jan' hasn't looked like adding to tally in recent Flat/hurdle runs. |

STORM ERIC's three wins have come over shorter, but he may benefit from stepping up in trip again at this stage of his career. The seven-year-old kept on well when third to Georg Zhukov over a mile last week, an improvement on previous runs here over shorter. He has been runner-up over C&D in the past. Thompson Gunner had some solid runs here before the turn of the year and is a danger. Barretstown was a track-and-trip winner in September and is another to consider now coming back off a little break.

Hampered at a crucial stage over 1m4f here last time, THOMPSON GUNNER has been running well over C&D recently and can get off the mark

2nd (3) (33/1 -200%)American Rose |
33/1(-200%) | (3) American Rose 33/1, No-show after a slow start, beaten 4l, in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Off a short break. Effective at 7f and 8f and acts on all-weather surfaces. Needs to bounce back. Has gone well fresh; interesting dropped to this level on return from layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (25/1 -79%)Wrath Of Hector |
25/1(-79%) | (10) Wrath Of Hector 25/1, Not at best when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Yarmouth last time but had been in good form previously. Off a short break. Effective at 6f and 7f and handles all-weather surfaces. Generally consistent. Went close on penultimate start; three-time Southwell winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (4/1 +27%)Aim For The Bull |
4/1(+27%) | (2) Aim For The Bull 4/1, Back to form when second beaten 2l in a handicap here latest; trainer in form; effective 7/8f, acts on any; chance in a weak race. Maiden who has frame possibilities on plenty of form; second over C&D last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (14/1 +50%)Anificas Beauty |
14/1(+50%) | (4) Anificas Beauty 14/1, Too keen and again ran to a poor level when well beaten in a classified race at Newcastle latest. Likes to race prominently. Suited by 8f to 10f and a sound surface. Drop in trip may help. Mostly poor form since wins over longer trips last April/June. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (66/1 -136%)Nutcracker |
66/1(-136%) | (8) Nutcracker 66/1, No-show from off the pace and finished down the field in a classified race here most recently. Effective at 7f on a sound surface. Drop in trip should suit. No improvement for the drop to this level last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (11/1 +8%)Kodebreaker |
11/1(+8%) | (7) Kodebreaker 11/1, Bit below form when beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap here last time. Suited by 7f and 8f and handles all-weather surfaces. Has a chance in this weak contest. Dual winner at Southwell and is capable of being involved in this grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

11/1(+56%) | (6) Embarked 11/1, Below form when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time. Effective at 7f and 8f and acts on all-weather surfaces. Needs to bounce back. May be fully recharged on return from deserved seven-week break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (28/1 +15%)Sharp Call |
28/1(+15%) | (9) Sharp Call 28/1, Again ran to a moderate level when tried in blinkers, beaten 8l in a handicap at Newcastle last time. Effective at 7f and acts on all-weather surfaces. Could improve for the run. Weak claims on form. |

Turned out quickly under a penalty, this appears to be all about PINK SOCKS. Ian Williams' mare bolted up in a similar event at Newcastle on Saturday and although she's not been the most reliable previously, this will not take much winning. There are a few class droppers to be wary of, namely dual course winner Kodebreaker, who has posted a few positive efforts in handicaps of late. Aim For The Bull has yet to score, but last month's C&D second suggests he ought to be more than capable.

Judged on the manner of her Newcastle win, PINK SOCKS looks set to defy a penalty. American Rose is second choice.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/2 +27%)Secret Guest |
11/2(+27%) | (2) Secret Guest 11/2, Ran to form when beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; trainer in form; best at 6f and acts on any surface; inconsistent but now below his last winning mark. On a losing run but not disgraced when sixth in handicap here 12 days ago; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/2 +77%)Candonomore |
5/2(+77%) | (5) Candonomore 5/2, A bit below form when slow to start and beaten 6l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; in good form prior; off a short break; effective from 7f to 10f and handles any surface; still on a competitive mark. Ended time with Tim Easterby with good Newmarket fifth; likely player for in-form new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (13/2 -8%)The Turpinator |
13/2(-8%) | (6) The Turpinator 13/2, Best work late back up in trip when beaten a neck off this mark at Wolverhampton last time; effective 6/7f, probably needs a sound surface; can go well again. Back on track when runner-up at Wolverhampton; veteran can go well off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (11/1 -340%)Invited |
11/1(-340%) | (1) Invited 11/1, Made all and ran to form when landing a handicap by a neck off a 2lb lower mark at Lingfield last time; effective at 7f or 8f and handles a sound surface; drop in trip should suit. Ended 2025 with success at Lingfield 13 days ago; up 2lb but very much one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (22/1 -120%)Good Morning Alex |
22/1(-120%) | (3) Good Morning Alex 22/1, Ran to form when beaten a nose off a 2lb lower mark at Carlisle last time; best at 8f and acts on all-weather; off since last summer but capable of a good run. Course scorer; off since good Carlisle second in June so needs to hit the ground running. |

INVITED appreciated a drop to this level when he making all over a mile at Lingfield and a 2lb rise looks fair. However, he is likely to face competition for the lead on this occasion and still needs to raise his game back over 7f. Shiplake went up 7lb for November's C&D success and now requires another personal best. Therefore, Good Morning Alex, who has won on the back of a break previously, could be a bigger danger with his effectiveness at this course also proven.

Stuart Williams has his string in fine nick so new recruit CANDONOMORE, a three-time scorer in 2025, is taken to give him another win

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (12) (10/3 +44%)Clover Time |
10/3(+44%) | (12) Clover Time 10/3, Ran to form when beaten 3/4l off a 1lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. From a top course trainer; effective over 5f to 6f on a sound surface; has been running well in cheekpieces and should remain competitive. 0-10 but he ended 2025 with four second-place finishes; should be involved once again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (13/8 +28%)Cargin Bhui |
13/8(+28%) | (3) Cargin Bhui 13/8, Raced wide and should have won when beaten a head off a 2lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. Has a wide draw; effective over 6f to 7f and acts on all-weather; likely to go close off the same mark. Bumped into handicap blot when 2nd (front two clear) at Wolverhampton latest; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (18/1 +0%)Sub Thirteen |
18/1(+0%) | (6) Sub Thirteen 18/1, Lacked pace to get involved when beaten 4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Had been in good form prior; wide draw; effective over 5f to 6f and acts on all-weather; mark remains fair. Still seeking a first AW win but his penultimate run was promising; not so good latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (7/1 -17%)Minnesota Lad |
7/1(-17%) | (10) Minnesota Lad 7/1, Ran to form when beaten a neck off a 1lb lower mark here last time. Effective at 6f and acts on any going; down to a reasonable mark but on a long losing run. Expensive to follow for current stable; latest C&D 2nd gives him solid form claims though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (4/1 +33%)Showtime Mahomes |
4/1(+33%) | (1) Showtime Mahomes 4/1, Strong at the finish, scoring with a bit in hand when landing a handicap by 3/4l off a 4lb lower mark here last time. Usually held up; effective over 5f to 6f and acts on any going; remains on a fair mark. Stayed on well to win over C&D last week; penalised but down in class; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (16/1 +36%)Pickering Castle |
16/1(+36%) | (4) Pickering Castle 16/1, No show from off the pace, beaten 8l in a handicap at Lingfield last time. Trainer in form; effective over 6f to 7f and acts on all-weather; mark continues to ease. Well short of his best on last two starts but now drops in class with his yard going well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (14/1 -87%)Ottawa |
14/1(-87%) | (2) Ottawa 14/1, Ran to form for a breakthrough win, landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark here last time. Effective at 6f and acts on all-weather; still on a competitive mark. Off the mark when winning C&D handicap last month; needs more to follow up in a deep race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (33/1 -18%)Dapperling |
33/1(-18%) | (9) Dapperling 33/1, A bit below form when beaten 4l in a handicap here last time. Effective over 5f to 6f and acts on all-weather; inconsistent, with slow starts proving an issue. Promise over 5f here last month but no so good behind Ottawa over C&D 26 days ago. |

CARGIN BHUI returned from a break with a close second at Wolverhampton 11 days ago and can go one better this time. Rated 82 at his peak, he's now too well treated to ignore, especially with his match-fitness topped up. Showtime Mahomes shoulders a 4lb penalty having won over C&D last week and this represents a drop in class. He rates a bigger danger than Ottawa, who was a surprise winner here last month and needs to prove that wasn't a fluke.

Although CARGIN BHUI was beaten at odds-on last time, the mare that beat him was well handicapped and enjoyed the run of the race.

2nd (3) (11/8 -51%)Autumn Affair |
11/8(-51%) | (3) Autumn Affair 11/8, Promising debut when runner-up beaten 2l in a novice at Wolverhampton on her only start. 20/1(-67%) | (11) Tabby Kat 20/1, Made plenty of use of from a wide draw but improved from debut when beaten 8l in a novice here last time. Bred to be effective at 6/7f and likely to do better in handicaps. RPR of just 49 in both starts, latest over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (66/1 -200%)Maybe Soon |
66/1(-200%) | (5) Maybe Soon 66/1, 15,000gns Supremacy filly; half-sister to Jersey Rocs, useful at 6f as a 2yo. Dam was smart at 6f. Faces a tough enough task on debut. 15,000gns yearling; half-sister to two AW scorers; suitably bred newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/4 +91%)Marianne Mozart |
7/4(+91%) | (2) Marianne Mozart 7/4, Showed some promise when beaten 4 1/2l in a novice at Lingfield on debut. Returning from a long layoff and should improve, giving her a chance in a weak race. Hinted at ability in Lingfield contest last January for Charlie Johnston. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (33/1 -106%)Sirhana |
33/1(-106%) | (9) Sirhana 33/1, Outpaced early but made minor late gains and was not knocked about when beaten 9 1/2l in a novice at Chelmsford on debut. Speedily bred and should improve with experience. Recorded a meagre RPR in Chelmsford event. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (20/1 -300%)Love Alive |
20/1(-300%) | (4) Love Alive 20/1, Too keen and a bit below form when beaten 7 1/4l in a nursery at Chelmsford last time. Returning from a break and looks well treated on her opening mark. One of the main players judged on the pick of her form for Richard Hannon; stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (25/1 +0%)Power Of Chora |
25/1(+0%) | (7) Power Of Chora 25/1, Ran to debut form when made plenty of use of, beaten 6l in a novice here last time. Stays 7f and acts on the all-weather; could improve with steadier fractions. Latest 7f effort suggests this drop in trip may prompt improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (7/1 +50%)Pantheon Princess |
7/1(+50%) | (6) Pantheon Princess 7/1, 17,000gns Mohaather filly; half-sister to Keke, smart at 5f. Has a wide draw and looks an unlikely winner on debut, though this is a weak race. 17,000gns foal; by Mohaather; looks one of the better types among the debutantes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (50/1 -213%)Thunder Pants |
50/1(-213%) | (12) Thunder Pants 50/1, £1,000 Iffraaj filly; dam a twice-raced half-sister to a useful 6f winner. One to consider on debut in a weak race. £1,000 yearling; by Iffraaj; market instructive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (200/1 -203%)Avalon Mill Mehmas |
200/1(-203%) | (1) Avalon Mill Mehmas 200/1, Too keen and made no impact when well beaten in a novice at Newcastle on her only start. Pedigree combines speed and stamina but she needs to show improvement. Achieved little in 7f event at Newcastle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (100/1 -400%)Sequential |
100/1(-400%) | (8) Sequential 100/1, Charming Thought filly; half-sister to The Meter, useful at 7f as a 2yo. Has a wide draw and faces a tough enough task on debut. Charming Thought filly; yard not associated with debut scorers. |

With an official rating of just 71, Love Alive sets only a modest standard. However, reverting to novice company could be a good move and she is one to monitor closely in the betting. Nevertheless, AUTUMN AFFAIR was a respectable second to a now 84-rated opponent on her racecourse debut at Wolverhampton last month and it's logical to suggest the filly can take a step forward with the benefit of experience. Pantheon Princess and Maybe Soon are interesting newcomers in a moderate event.

Wolverhampton runner-up AUTUMN AFFAIR is taken to go one better and emulate her siblings by winning on AW second time out.

22/1(+0%) | (5) Spring Is Sprung 22/1, Below form when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap here last time and now returns from a break. Suited by 5f on a sound surface and remains 3lb above his last winning mark. Has lost his form since hat-trick; revival is needed on reappearance. |

2nd (6) (10/3 +17%)Fidelius |
10/3(+17%) | (6) Fidelius 10/3, Scored by a length off a 4lb lower mark at Newcastle three starts ago and ran to form last time off the same mark. Likes to make the running, suited by 5f and acts on all-weather; should go well again. Record of 4-12 on AW; ran creditably on last two starts; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (13/2 +0%)Juan Les Pins |
13/2(+0%) | (7) Juan Les Pins 13/2, Ran to form when beaten 1/2l off a 1lb lower mark at Newcastle last time. From a top course trainer and usually held up. Suited by 5/6f on a sound surface; capable off this mark though a losing run is a concern. Remains on a long losing spell but is a stone below last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/1 +17%)Paddy's Day |
5/1(+17%) | (2) Paddy's Day 5/1, Ran to his best when landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Newcastle last time. Suited by 5f and acts on all-weather; can go well again. Latest performance took his Newcastle record to 7-11; only 2-34 elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (10/3 +5%)Ziggy's Triton |
10/3(+5%) | (3) Ziggy's Triton 10/3, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark here on his penultimate start and ran to form last time from the same mark. Wears a visor for the first time. Suited by 5f and acts on all-weather; holds a good chance again. Good effort last time when bidding for C&D hat-trick; solid contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (9/1 -80%)Alligator Alley |
9/1(-80%) | (1) Alligator Alley 9/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start and ran to form off his new mark last time. Now 1lb higher; trainer in form. Suited by 5f and acts on all-weather; in fine form and should go well again. May remain competitive but it's a long while since he defied this sort of mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (7/2 -5%)Atomic Force |
7/2(-5%) | (4) Atomic Force 7/2, Ran to form, best work late down in trip beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time; off a short-break; effective 5/6f, acts on GS, G and AW; former Group winner, can go well. Shaped encouragingly at Wolverhampton (third run for new yard) when last seen. |

Although foiled in his hat-trick bid when finishing a close-up second over C&D recently, ZIGGY'S TRITON lost little in defeat. The four-year-old makes plenty of appeal from an unchanged mark and the introduction of a visor may prove fruitful. Paddy's Day secured an eighth all-weather triumph at Newcastle last month and may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of fellow in-form rival Alligator Alley.

Judged on his recent C&D form, ZIGGY'S TRITON holds particularly solid claims. Atomic Force is second choice.

6/1(-50%) | (3) Codiak 6/1, Improved a little to get off the mark when winning a novice at Wolverhampton by 6l last time. Effective from 11-14f; looks an improver capable of defying a new mark. Saw out 1m6f on turf handicap debut; well clear in 1m4f Wolverhampton novice since. |

2nd (4) (15/2 -7%)Robusto |
15/2(-7%) | (4) Robusto 15/2, Ran to best back down in trip beaten 1 1/2l off a 1lb lower mark here last time; trainer in form; effective around 12-14f, acts on AW; competitive mark still. Weighted to go well on best C&D form; creditable 2nd in higher grade latest. |

3rd (6) (16/1 -33%)Moon Sniper |
16/1(-33%) | (6) Moon Sniper 16/1, Too keen and just outlasted when beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective from 8-14f; the drop in trip may help his finishing effort. Has won and close 3rd on most recent 1m4f runs; may yet improve a little; course debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (3/1 +14%)Charlie's Choice |
3/1(+14%) | (5) Charlie's Choice 3/1, Scored by 2 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Lingfield penultimate start; best work late, ran to form last time, same mark here; effective 10-12f, acts on GF and AW; good chance again. Course wins at 1m3f and 1m4f; in good form at Lingfield this month; can be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/1 -43%)Cannon Rock |
5/1(-43%) | (2) Cannon Rock 5/1, Travelled, ran to form landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time; effective 10/12f, acts on a sound surface; blinkers have made a difference, good chance. C&D novice winner; in fine form back on AW of late, coming clear at Wolverhampton (1m4f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (4/1 -45%)Machete |
4/1(-45%) | (1) Machete 4/1, Scored by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark at Newcastle penultimate start; ran to form when second last time, 1lb higher here; effective 10-13f, arguably better beyond 10f, acts on GS and AW; step back up in trip may help. In good form at Newcastle (1m4f/1m2f); return to this trip will suit; first course run. |

Having opened his account in fine style at Wolverhampton, Codiak merits consideration on his return to handicap company. However, the four-year-old is now 7lb higher than for his close-up second at Redcar in November and CANNON ROCK may prove to be better treated. James Owen's charge has been rejuvenated since having blinkers applied last month and a 5lb rise for his most recent success looks workable. Machete can make his presence felt too.

A competitive race may go to CANNON ROCK who is still on a reasonably tempting mark despite a Wolverhampton win last time out.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
