There were 22 Races on Tuesday 14th January 2025 across 3 meetings. There was 8 races at Southwell, 7 races at Dundalk, 7 races at Newcastle, no doubt Tomform helped you find a winner.

ALWAYS WAVING stepped forward from her Wolverhampton return when scoring over C&D last month and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Andrew Balding's filly had plenty more to offer in handicap company. Fleeting Moment was no match for a comfortable winner here last time but is open to improvement, while Nala The Lioness is likely to benefit from first-time cheekpieces.

CARAMAY has built up a solid record since the cheekpieces went on, posting her best effort yet when winning 7-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 7 days ago. Well proven at this sort of trip, she looks sure to give another good account and earns the vote. Always Waving, on handicap debut, and Kinetic, returned to this sphere, are others to consider in a competitive race of its type.

There should be more to come from Fleeting Moment but EVER HOPEFULL has been in good form for her new yard and gets the vote.

HORUS returned from a break to win on his first run for Michael Keady at Lingfield a fortnight ago and remains open to further improvement on the all-weather, despite being raised 6lb. Blue Lakota was denied a hat-trick at Newcastle when not getting a clear run at a crucial point, while another capable of a decent showing in this sprint handicap is Psychodrama.

BLUE LAKOTA was unlucky not to finish closer in his bid to land the hat-trick when third at Newcastle 17 days ago, denied a run over 1f out before running on late. He's very much of interest again and shades the vote ahead of Triple Charged, who similarly caught the eye when a couple of placings behind the selection latest. Easy Lingfield scorer Horus is another to consider.

Horus has more to come but TRIPLE CHARGED may be able to reverse Newcastle placings with Blue Lakota.
Class & Speed Card

Midnight City was just denied a first career success here over 6f last month and the extra furlong appears likely to benefit the son of Acclamation. That said, he would require a career best to stop INVITED. The pick of his form saw him finish runner-up to the smart Ancient Truth at Newmarket and a change of scenery, along with a gelding operation, might see him prove too strong for the opposition. Newcomer Cavolo Nero completes the shortlist.

The pick of INVITED's 2-y-o form gives him obvious claims now starting out for his new yard having been gelded and he's fancied to make a bold bid returning from 5 months off. Midnight City has knocked on the door of late and he's a threat, with newcomer Cavolo Nero another to note if betting vibes are positive.

Not a lot of depth to this and despite being unable to capitalise on some respectable efforts, INVITED is taken to do so this time.
Class & Speed Card

This looks a wide-open handicap but there is plenty to like about the chances of MY BROTHER MIKE, who scored off 3lb lower over Wolverhampton's extended mile two starts ago and has two wins at this venue to his name. Reputation landed a similar C&D contest in November and is only 2lb higher now, while Arika has slipped to a feasible mark and the drop to 7f should suit.

ARIKA's maiden status is off-putting but he starts out for a new yard going well and could be worth siding with to break his duck returning from 104 days off. Ring of Gold, who is lurking on a handy mark, and Reputation are a couple of others to consider.

This looks open and it's worth taking a chance on ARIKA, who represents the in-form Karl Burke team and may have untapped potential.
Class & Speed Card

RUBELLITE comes out best on official ratings and she arrives on the back of a victory over an extended 1m at Newcastle 12 days ago, so Stella Barclay's mare looks set to make a bold bid for the double. She could have most to fear from High Court Judge, who has also already scored this year, over 1m4f at Wolverhampton, and represents an in-form yard. Recorwoman looks best of the rest.

HIGH COURT JUDGE isn't long with his current stable and did well to get up at Wolverhampton, so he takes preference over Rubellite, who also scored cosily last time. The remainder are out of form and it's likely to be fought out by that pair.

Little to choose between the last-time winners High Court Ridge and RUBELLITE, with the latter just preferred receiving 5lb.
Class & Speed Card

AIRD was heavily backed over C&D last month, but was outgunned in second which was still a fair effort behind a promising horse. Robyn Donaghue-Leahy's 4lb claim is a bonus in this apprentice maiden and those losses may be recouped now. Free Flow banked four runner-up finishes on turf for James Barrett and has moved to Ross O'Sullivan, so he should be in contention. Gavin Cromwell's Babich has to be respected. He has been hurdling in November and December, however, his last run on the Flat saw him take the runner-up spot over an extended 10-furlongs in Roscommon. Autumn Twist is well worth a market check as he had some decent form in France quite some time ago.

BABICH wasn't disgraced over hurdles at Leopardstown during the Christmas period and he is appealing back on the level, having finished a good second at Roscommon on his latest start on the level during the autumn. He may have most to fear from Aird, who found just one too good over C&D last month, but Autumn Twist is also worthy of consideration.

Runner-up over C&D last time when the winner got first run on her, AIRD(nap) can go one better today.
Class & Speed Card

The application of a visor has spark notable improvement in BUSBY, who narrowly failed to follow up a victory over 1m4f here when runner-up at Newcastle off his revised mark. Philip Kirby's gelding should go well on his return to this venue, while although he has give Letmeseethecolts 2lb despite the latter being rated 1lb higher and Brian Ellison's filly has been threatening to score. Back From Dubai and Stand Free are not out of it either.

Having scored here in December, BUSBY was just worn down late at Newcastle 12 days ago, and he's worth a chance to get back to winning ways in a race that lacks depth. Letmeseethecolts is the only one of the opponents to arrive in form, so she's the main threat, although market support for Back From Dubai would be significant.

The veteran Busby has another big run in him if the visor continues to work but the much less exposed LETMESEETHECOLTS is preferred.

A very competitive handicap. TRIBAL MOON wasn't outclassed in a much-higher grade before Christmas and ought to be a factor in this company. Morning Approach was a wide-margin winner over C&D last month and has prospects despite the 9lb rise. That form got a boost when the runner-up obliged on his next start. Trishuli River has been in a rich vein of form over further in Dundalk but has winning form over 1m, so has to enter calculations. Nedita got 8lb for winning over C&D in December, but that is almost offset by the booking of 7lb claimer Darragh O'Sullivan, so he is entitled to be in the mix. Rockbury Lad and Man Is King are others with claims.

A belated and much-deserved first taste of success could be in the offing for MAN IS KING, who put in another very good shift from the front when going down narrowly over C&D last month. Morning Approach scored in good style here last time and while she isn't an obvious type to follow up, the 7-y-o will be a threat off this 9 lb higher mark if in a similar mood. Nedita, also successful in a C&D handicap on the same card in December, is third choice ahead of Trishuli River.

The form of her easy C&D win last time was franked since, so MORNING APPROACH is taken to score again even off 9lb higher.
Class & Speed Card

DANCE TIME scored by just over a length over track and trip on her latest outing and a 2lb rise might prove to be on the lenient side. David Loughnane's five-year-old has lots in her favour and she will prove very difficult to beat. Haaland finished a close-up third at Kempton six days ago and this drop in grade will aid her cause. Of the remainder, handicap debutante Comte De Loir makes the most appeal.

DANCE TIME is building up an excellent record over this trip and, having had something to spare over C&D late in December, she may well be up to defying a small rise. Haaland and Two Auld Pals are both serious dangers.

Two Auld Pals and Dance Time (next best) are respected but narrow preference is for HAALAND after two good runs for this yard.
Class & Speed Card

ESQUE ELEGANCE showed marked improvement when keeping on over 7f at this track last month. The form was franked when the runner-up came out and won decisively last Friday. Esque Elegance actually races off 6lb lower with her jockey's claim factored in, so she gets the vote. The obvious danger is Movin And Groovin who reappears under the mandatory 7lb penalty after winning by half a length over 6f last week for Ado McGuinness. Nicola Burns keeps the ride and she is proving good value for her 7lb claim. McGuinness also saddles Endless Dawn who was fourth behind Movin And Groovin on her stable debut. She could bank a cheque as could top-weight Lost President.

This step up to a mile could be just the ticket for LOST PRESIDENT, who shaped better than the bare result on his handicap debut here in November and he has been eased 2 lb since. Senior Montecristo will be a threat if responding well to the first-time visor, while Tam Lin should also make her presence felt and Esque Elegance could have a part to play if building on her latest effort.

Nearest at the finish over 7f at this track last time, ESQUE ELEGANCE could get off the mark up to this trip.
Class & Speed Card

Jujubella arrives following a career-best performance here when benefiting from a step up in trip to beat Come On John by four and a half lengths at the start of the month. A 7lb swing in the favour of the latter makes it interesting, though, but KHANGAI appeals most. A winner at Southwell last time, the five-year-old doesn't appear to have reached his ceiling yet and is expected to cope with a 3lb rise.

JUJUBELLA won with plenty in hand last time and there could be more improvement to come for this step up in trip. James Owen's horses are running well and Come On John and Khangai should continue that trend.

This could go the way of Lucinda Russell's progressive JUJUBELLA who opened her account in good style here recently and can follow up
Class & Speed Card

Marinakis shed his maiden tag in a classified stakes at Chelmsford last week and should mount a bold bid back in the handicap ranks, despite his 5lb penalty. However, the vote goes to RETRACTION, who has made the frame on each of his last three starts, including over C&D three starts ago. Ruth Carr's five-year-old goes off the same mark as his most recent third at Wolverhampton and could be rewarded for his consistency. Charlatan is another to keep an eye on.

MARINAKIS is unexposed over this distance and, having justified strong support last week at Chelmsford, he's worth a chance to go in again for all that Retraction looks a big player having shaped well at Wolverhampton a month ago. Charlatan is another one to consider.

Plenty are in with a shout but RETRACTION (nap) is taken to build on his very good Wolverhampton third and gain a deserved first win.
Class & Speed Card

Adam Browne-Souza has prospects of riding his first winner aboard SENADO SQUARE. His 10lb claim has the five-year-old gelding on an appealing mark. Furthermore, Senado Square arrives in good form and was successful over C&D on his penultimate start. Devil's Angel has a tough draw to overcome, but he is more than capable of making late headway. Fly to Glory supplemented two all-weather victories in Britain when delivering over 7f at this venue last month, while My Girl Sioux and Hasiyna will have their supporters. First-reserve Clonmacash is dropping down the weights and would have a chance if getting a run.

In a wide open race a chance is taken on veteran NO SPEED LIMIT. He took a step back in the right direction from his reduced mark when midfield in a C&D handicap back in September and the refitting of a visor can put an extra edge on him operating from his last winning mark. In-form pair Senado Square and Fly To Glory are others in the mix, as is last year's winner Havana Notion.

Well-drawn for a horse who races prominently, SENADO SQUARE could make up for his narrow loss over 7f before Christmas.
Class & Speed Card

William Dewhirst has found a new lease of life over the past couple of months with Ben Haslam's gelding a three-time winner over C&D. Starliner (third) and KING'S SCHOOL (fourth) were in behind the five-year-old last week and there is every chance the latter might be able to get his head back in front. He was seeking a hat-trick of victories when slowly away in that contest and is 5lb better off due to the winner carrying a penalty.

A trappy contest with very little to separate most of these runners. SWISS ACE is now 2 lb below his last winning mark and that could make the difference today, as could the booking of the excellent Billy Loughnane. King's School wasn't suited by the run of the race here 6 days ago and he should be in the mix, along with Starliner who often goes well at this venue.

Gemma Tutty's dual C&D scorer KING'S SCHOOL didn't enjoy the rub of the green when fourth over C&D last time and edges the verdict.
Class & Speed Card

BRIGADIER KAKURU showed pace in maidens before justifying favouritism on his handicap debut over C&D last month. That form received a couple of timely boosts when the placed horses, Movin And Groovin and Powerful Lady, both won here last Friday. Tommy McJohn probably holds the strongest piece of form having won a 5f Naas handicap off a mark of 77 for Michael O'Callaghan but has disappointed since, including twice here last month for current connections. Just Jump showed improved form when going close over C&D just before Christmas, while Suerte can go well if building on her debut in a maiden here last month.

BRIGADIER KAKURU continued his theme of race-by-race progress when opening his account in a C&D nursery 5 weeks ago and with the definite possibility of more to come, he makes plenty of appeal in his follow-up bid. Just Jump rates next best, ahead of top-weight Tommy McJohn.

Recent nursery winner BRIGADIER KAKURU can further enhance his yard's fine record at the venue
Class & Speed Card

SHOW ME SHOW ME had been running consistently well in defeat prior to getting back to winning ways over C&D on New Year's Day and the eight-year-old makes plenty of appeal in what looks to be a winnable contest on paper. Water Of Leith is expected to be in the mix after his latest success here, while Above and Darlo Pride appear best of the remainder.

WATER OF LEITH did well to run down one more prominently placed given the modest early gallop over C&D 12 days ago and is the percentage call to follow up. Darlo Pride and Show Me Show Me are feared most.

Jim Goldie's reliable WATER OF LEITH looks the way to go having done well to overcome a steady pace when scoring over C&D last time.

The first three home in the mile handicap won by Storm Eric here last Friday renew rivalry and BEAUTY BELLA now gets the vote to come out on top. Ado McGuinness' charge was beaten three lengths in third but was keeping on well at the finish and is probably better suited by this distance. Storm Eric's previous two wins were gained over 7f, although he also has placed form over this trip, and Rory Mulligan now claims 7lb to help alleviate a penalty for that recent victory. Runner-up Roderick again looks sure to be in the mix, while Reclaim had L'immortale behind when third to Cousin Shay over a mile here last Friday. Barretstown gained a fourth career win when scoring over C&D on his penultimate start.

RODERICK was runner-up to Storm Eric 4 days ago with Beauty Bella back in third. With that trio likely to be heavily involved again, the first-named gets the marginal vote from a mark that looks lenient based on old form.

Upped in trip BEAUTY BELLA is taken to reverse last Friday's form with Storm Eric and Roderick

260,000gns purchase SHE'S THE DUCHESS is a half-sister to Lake Forest, who won the Gimcrack in 2023. George Boughey's three-year-old looks to have been found a winnable race on her first start and she could make an instant impression. Anwaar is related to plenty of winners and she would be interesting if the market speaks in her favour, while Memardee will be looking to put her experience to good use.

SHE'S THE DUCHESS stands out on paper and is taken to do the business on debut. Anwaar is another newcomer who commands respect, with Memardee the pick of those with experience.

Newcomer SHE'S THE DUCHESS hails from a family chock full of winners and represents last year's winning stable so she gets the nod here.
Class & Speed Card

COUSIN SHAY has progressed well since joining Natalia Lupini last autumn and gained the second of two wins here over a mile when making all for a decisive victory last Friday. The selection has never raced beyond a mile but, despite a 7lb penalty, this looks a good opportunity to test the water over further. Deed Pole has dropped to an attractive mark here this winter and had Tastyee behind when only beaten about a length over 1m4f last time. Miss Glenville indicated some ability when switched to this surface on the latest of three maiden starts and any market move should be noted.

COUSIN SHAY made it two from his last three with a ready success here 4 days ago and, despite the 7-lb penalty, he can follow up in a race that lacks depth. Deed Pole looks the main danger and Rumbled Again should give a good account.

Clearly in rude health, Friday's winner COUSIN SHAY now steps up in trip and looks the one to beat if staying
Class & Speed Card

PALS BATTALION successfully completed a C&D double when scoring by a neck here last month and the handicapper might have been kind to only put him up 2lb. David O'Meara's four-year-old was worth more than the winning margin suggests on that occasion and he could prove very hard to beat. Mondammej carries a 4lb penalty for his victory over 5f at this venue six days ago and is likely to be thereabouts. Airman takes a drop in grade and is another to note.

A breathing operation appears to have helped iron out MONDAMMEJ's quirks and the 8-y-o is taken to deliver another success at this track, where he has won three of his five starts since undergoing the aforementioned procedure. The hat-trick seeking Pals Battalion should be on the premises once more, while the down-in-class Airman and How Impressive are both more than capable of taking a hand in the finish, too.

Antony Brittain's MONDAMMEJ(nap) has been revitalised by a wind op and gets a confident vote to follow up his stylish recent win here.
Class & Speed Card

Now that PARIS LIGHTS has regained the winning thread after a taking success over C&D last time out, there is likely to be plenty more to come from the son of Siyouni. Paul Midgley's charge can uphold form with Tasever (third), who scored over 7f here last Wednesday. Cusack should appreciate dropping back in trip after being worn down late on over 1m2f here last month.

The vote goes to TASEVER, who looked better than ever when striking over 7f here last week and it makes sense that connections are getting him out again quickly, as it's highly likely that he'll go up by more than the 5 lb penalty he carries in this contest when reassessed. Profitman wasn't beaten far when fifth at Kempton recently and he is feared most ahead of Commander Crouch and Cusack.

Patrick Morris' TASEVER goes really well here and is hard to side against under a 5lb penalty for his emphatic victory here six days ago
Class & Speed Card

Turned out again quickly after being narrowly denied over C&D on Friday, TOMORROW DAY can gain compensation off the same mark with Owen Lewis taking off a valuable 7lb in the plate. All four of his career wins have come at this track and the son of Adaay gets the vote ahead of Beneficiary, who should appreciate going back up in trip. Tickets is another to consider.

BENEFICIARY bounced back from a low-key effort at Southwell when seeing off 9 rivals there earlier this month, prior to finding just one too good under a penalty at this course on Friday. The 6-y-o is now effectively 2 lb lower and the return to this trip looks a good move. Tomorrow Day was also runner-up on the same card and is likely to be firmly in the mix once more, while Tickets could also have a part to play.

This can go the way of TOMORROW DAY who started 2025 with a promising C&D second and can bag a fifth win at the track off the same mark
Ths is the racecard key.
