King Chaos is 3lb better off with Golspie for a three-quarter-length C&D defeat just before Christmas and arrives in winning form after justifying favouritism over the extended 1m4f here. Jack Sparowe and Prince Achille are very much in contention, but another chance is given to SELENIC. Sir Mark Prescott's filly struck traffic at a crucial stage on her handicap bow at Southwell and a clearer passage throughout the race could allow her to make amends.

Sir Mark Prescott's SELENIC didn't have the rub of the green on handicap debut at Southwell, and is entitled to come on for that run.

LTO Selection:

BUD FOX won nicely on his Rules debut at the Punchestown Festival before making the frame in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham's November meeting. He clearly wasn't at his best when sixth at Leopardstown over Christmas, but the switch to hurdles promises to yield improvement from this point-to-point winner. Star Of The Week (third) was two places ahead of Sense Of Occasion at Limerick and the pair are capable of being in the mix, while Boedic could leave behind his Thurles effort.

Although needing to jump better than he did at Fairyhouse it may be worth persevering with WHINNEY HILL

Cara Tuke has struck up a good partnership with SUPERIOR COUNCIL and Iain Jardine's course regular maintained his excellent consistency when pipped last time. He is much more effective at 6f, but should see out the extra furlong and is suited by the conditions of this race. Green Valentine and Ring Of Gold share the top rating of 50 with the selection, but aren't in anything like the same sort of form so Sir Maxi and Rory could be the ones for the places.

Jim Goldie's RORY was third to a pair of in-form rivals over C&D latest and receives the narrow vote over Superior Council.

Although Jony R has a course victory to his name, his two subsequent efforts have left a lot to be desired and it may pay to side with ZUZUKEL. The six-year-old showed significant improvement when touched off in a handicap at Punchestown in November and if building on that display, he could prove a tough nut to crack. The in-form Spinola Bay sports first-time cheekpieces and is far from out of it.

The vote goes to ZUZUKEL, whose handicap second at Punchestown in November was shown in a good light by the winner recently

It was hard not to be mightily impressed by UBATUBA's romp on his debut under Rules at this venue last month and there will be plenty more to come. The point-to-point winner looks an exciting prospect and can defy his penalty before moving on to bigger assignments. Starzand possesses plenty of ability and was far from disgraced in second under a penalty at Ffos Las so he has to be respected. Hot To Go completes the shortlist.

Ubatuba galloped on strongly for a wide-margin C&D success on last month's rules debut but STARZAND sets the form standard.

STARRYFIELD was odds-on to better his encouraging Doncaster debut on his return over 6f here, only to be put in his place by what will probably turn out to be a classy colt. The son of Starspangledbanner clearly possesses a good level of ability and can make it third-time lucky. Dandy Breeze went very close to making a successful beginning to his career over C&D and has to be feared. Egotistical should build on her Southwell third, and Mad Dash can't be ruled out either.

The safest option is probably DANDY BREEZE. Bryan Smart's colt pushed the winner hard when runner-up on C&D debut six weeks ago.

Beautiful Chaos filled the runner-up berth at Tramore and that form gives her every chance.

Heeztheboy has only tasted defeat once in five starts since switching to the Gary Hanmer yard and it's easy to understand why he will have his supporters. Last-time-out Warwick scorer Happy And Fine has to be respected, but the vote goes to TARAS HALLS. The eight-year-old only found one too good in this grade at Haydock and if reproducing that level of form, he could be the one to beat.

The suggestion is JIPCOT, who ran well on his recent seasonal debut at Ayr and remains well handicapped on hurdling form.

AISLING OSCAR has been a revelation since joining the Adrian Keatley team and made it five wins on the bounce - all at this venue - over 7f last week. That was an apprentices' race so he escapes a penalty and he can continue on his merry way. The runner-up seven days ago had previously denied Little Ted in a head-bobbing finish over the same C&D and Tim Easterby's veteran could make a race of it. Tasever, Rogue Officer and Sea Legend have place claims.

Unpenalised for last week's win, his fifth on the spin, there is no temptation to oppose the flourishing AISLING OSCAR (nap).

Andrew McNamara's mare shouldn't be too inconvenienced by a 3lb rise and can stop Boston Bobby from recording back-to-back triumphs. Tsavo Park made the frame when dropped to 2m at Naas, while I Feel Fine found disappointingly little for favourite-backers behind the selection at Limerick but could at least close the gap.

After finishing third in a point-to-point, SEAVIEW ROCK showed lots of ability when second over C&D and he will have plenty of improvement in him. This looks a good opportunity and he can make the most of it. Three Dons occupied the runner-up berth on his first start over timber, also over track and trip, and enters calculations along with Southwell second Sutherland.

The most obvious answer is SEAVIEW ROCK, who made a pleasing start to his rules career when second to a useful rival over C&D.

Betsen got there just in time to spring a surprise at Southwell and another bold showing looks assured, while it's also worth keeping a close eye on Badri and Coachello.

Now back up in trip from his last winning mark, this could be the time for BADRI to strike. Southwell scorer Betsen is next best.

However, SKY LORD could turn the tables on Mclaurey after finishing just under three lengths behind him in fourth at Fairyhouse last month. Henry de Bromhead's charge was pressured for the lead throughout that day and should have more to offer on just his third chase start.

Apart from one slightly lacklustre effort here before Christmas, TEARDROPS has made winning over C&D look fairly easy and there is likely more to come from this progressive sprinter. Penalised for last week's success, Richard Spencer's charge can continue on an upward trajectory and thwart Spartan Fighter's hat-trick bid in the process. If they go hard up front, Ana Emaraaty could be staying on late for at least a place.

The hat-trick seeking Spartan Fighter has a serious rival to contend with in the shape of TEARDROPS. The pair can dominate.

LE GALLI BIER will be winning a race like this sooner rather than later if solid efforts at Windsor and Fontwell towards the back end of last year are anything to go by. Jeu D'opale filled the runner-up berth at Lingfield and must be respected for a trainer/jockey combination that does really well at this track. Kapamazov is another to bear in mind.

Nine Nine Nine is respected back on this track but it might be worth chancing the returning HALL LANE off a favourable mark.

On that evidence, it won't be long before he wins a race of this nature. Of the others, Instant Bond and Ramon Di Loria are closely matched and Yorkshire Glory is usually thereabouts.

A trappy event in which ECO POWER BOY is suggested to build on his latest promising second. Yorkshire Glory is next best.

That was his first attempt over the larger obstacles and even a 15lb hike in the weights might not be enough to prevent him from scoring again.

After Many Days is another to consider closely, but the verdict is for TAKE A HIKE. She was slightly disappointing at Ayr, but drops back in trip with a massive shout on the evidence of her Kelso triumph.

The vote goes to TAKE A HIKE, who was a good 2m5f winner at Kelso two starts ago and looked stretched by 3m on heavy ground last time.

He can continue his forward momentum to finally get off the mark, with Rainwater expected to relish the drop from a mile and is put forward as the primary threat. In contrast, No Knee Never goes up in trip and, along with Onemorenomore, rounds out the shortlist.

A return to usual tactics may enable ONEMORENOMORE to record a second C&D success. Overlooked is second choice.

HUNKY DORY has held his form really well since moving to Mick Appleby's yard and gained just reward for his consistency when successful over C&D. A 4lb rise requires more of him, but there was a subsequent winner back in third so he could be up to the task. Hierarchy beat him at Kempton last month and is actually 3lb better off, although he didn't fire at Lingfield afterwards and arrives with something to prove. Gunlock won't be far away, while Hundred Caps has been freshened up.

With the cheekpieces retained, HUNKY DORY may well follow up his C&D win. Gunlock is second pick.

SI GRASS made an introduction full of promise when getting closest to a rival who is now rated 101 at Newmarket. Charlie Johnston has given his filly time to strengthen and as long as she handles the surface, she should be too strong. Itica proved herself on Tapeta when leaving her first run a long way behind to be beaten just half a length at Newcastle. Poor Relation caught the eye in the latter stages of her Lingfield debut and is expected to step forward.

Preference is for SI GRASS, who seems sure to progress. Itica and Poor Relation complete the shortlist.

Pride Eye kept The Spotlight Kid at bay to spring a 66/1 shock over C&D, although she isn't guaranteed to confirm her superiority. TIMELY AFFAIR made a race of it with a rapidly improving handicapper here and backed that performance up when going one better in a classified race. The runner-up struck over the weekend, while the fourth has won three times since, and William Knight's four-year-old is open to plenty more improvement. How's The Guvnor and Roaring Ralph must be considered too.

This is competitive but Timely Affair and PRIDE EYE are the potential improvers after their recent C&D wins.

DOLLAR'S DREAM has been found a really good opening and might not have to improve much on last week's Newcastle second in order to strike. He's unexposed over the trip and in handicaps, and makes plenty of appeal. Haliphon is taken to finish in the money and is a lot better than his latest Chelmsford showing, while Smokey Malone boasts place claims.

Dollar's Dream is the one to beat but SHIBUYA SONG starts out for James Owen at a low level and could be the answer.

FORGLEN was quite taking when scoring at Lingfield on Saturday and should go very well here under the penalty, assuming he copes with the quick turnaround. Hedonista reached the frame at Chelmsford and could trouble the selection if building on that performance, while Himself is better judged on his Newcastle win rather than a lacklustre effort at Wolverhampton over Christmas.

A weak race and FORGLEN may be able to defy the 5lb penalty he incurs for his Lingfield win on Saturday.
