|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (3/1 +60%)Pure Ocean |
3/1(+60%) | (8) Pure Ocean 3/1, Travelled well but looked green under pressure when beaten 9l in a mares' bumper at Plumpton on debut. Effective at 2m and should improve a little for that initial experience. She may come into her own over further but possible player after debut fifth at Plumpton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (6/4 +57%)Luna Grace |
6/4(+57%) | (9) Luna Grace 6/4, Travelled well and confirmed her debut promise when beaten 6l into third in a mares' bumper at Doncaster on her latest run. Coming here off a short break and effective at 2m, with more to come. Third on both starts; needs something extra but wind op since last time; not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (2/1 -23%)I C U In My Dreams |
2/1(-23%) | (4) I C U In My Dreams 2/1, Made a very promising debut when second, beaten 3l, in a bumper at Catterick on her latest start. Effective at 2m and, despite only modest point form, she was beaten by a useful rival and could progress. Point winner who was runner-up to a Willie Mullins winner on bumper debut at Catterick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (33/1 +0%)Dancing Diana |
33/1(+0%) | (3) Dancing Diana 33/1, Dragon Dancer mare; first foal of unraced mare; yard relatively quiet just now. One of two newcomers for stable; Little Ruby may be yard's chief hope under Jamie Hamilton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (200/1 -100%)Autumn Getaway |
200/1(-100%) | (2) Autumn Getaway 200/1, Made a poor debut when well beaten in a bumper at Hexham on her only start to date. On what she has shown so far, it is hard to make a case for her. Tailed off at 28-1 on debut at Hexham (2m, good to soft) last June. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (14/1 +0%)Nowherenearmilan |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Nowherenearmilan 14/1, 4,500 euros Milan mare; half-sister to Deons Diamond, fair at 21f; stable in good form with small number of runners. Half-sister to 2m5f chase/2m6f hurdle winner Deons Diamond; she might be one for later on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (14/1 -17%)Aristelle |
14/1(-17%) | (1) Aristelle 14/1, Outpaced but improved from her debut when beaten 6 1/2l into third in a mares' bumper at Carlisle on her latest start. Effective at 2m and still improving, although she needs to find more again. Left debut miles behind when third of six at Carlisle last month; she's in with a chance. |

Point-to-point winner I C U IN MY DREAMS displayed plenty of promise when filling second place on her Rules debut at Catterick in December. Donald McCain's mare is entitled to progress from that outing and could be hard to stop if doing so. Luna Grace has made the frame on both career starts and may improve for a recent wind op, while Pure Ocean and Aristelle are others to note.

Point winner I C U IN MY DREAMS was a promising second on her bumper debut at Catterick last month and is taken to go one better today.

4/1(+64%) | (5) Highbury Hill 4/1, Stopped quickly and was well beaten in a Uttoxeter handicap hurdle last time. Trainer is in form and she is effective over 2m-2m4f, but a clear bounce back is needed. Finished remote latest but has possibilities on previous C&D run when a close 3rd. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (12) (11/1 +31%)Out Of Focus |
11/1(+31%) | (12) Out Of Focus 11/1, Below form when comfortably held in a Ffos Las handicap hurdle last time. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time; effective at 2m-2m4f but remains a maiden. Well treated on best handicap hurdle form, including over C&D, but below form this winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (16/1 0%)Don't Tell Rosie |
16/1(0%) | (9) Don't Tell Rosie 16/1, Never travelled and failed to handle the track when well down the field in a Warwick handicap hurdle last time. Effective at 2m-2m4f and well treated on spring form, though inconsistent. Running well in handicaps at about this trip in early 2025; not so good this winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (13) (66/1 -65%)Rest Is The Best |
66/1(-65%) | (13) Rest Is The Best 66/1, Again ran to a moderate level when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Bred to stay at least 2m4f and may do better now handicapping. Well held in three 2m hurdles; bred to improve for the step up in trip on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (9/2 +44%)Monsieur Jaco |
9/2(+44%) | (2) Monsieur Jaco 9/2, Again comfortably held when running in a maiden hurdle at Newbury last time. Hood is fitted for the first time; effective at 3m in points and may do better now handicapping and stepped up in trip. Irish point winner; minor 2m form but of more interest now handicapping up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (7/2 +46%)Crossbeau |
7/2(+46%) | (11) Crossbeau 7/2, Taken on for the lead and failed to find much when fourth, beaten 17l, off a mark of 90 last time, 1lb higher than today. Returns from a short break and is generally consistent. Made light of absence when C&D winner in November; lesser run since; chance on earlier run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (50/1 -52%)Dessie Haze |
50/1(-52%) | (8) Dessie Haze 50/1, Raced close enough to a strong pace when fourth, beaten 7l, in a Ffos Las handicap hurdle last time. Returning from a long layoff and effective at 2m-2m4f, but may need this run. Some promise in good-ground hurdles at 2m/2m4f, including on handicap debut; off since May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (10) (5/1 +29%)Locked Down Lad |
5/1(+29%) | (10) Locked Down Lad 5/1, Hampered and brought down early at Exeter last time. Effective around 2m4f and had been steadily progressing prior to his latest completed start. Some good efforts at about this trip, including over C&D; can go well now back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (8/1 +33%)Good For You |
8/1(+33%) | (3) Good For You 8/1, Best handicap run tried in blinkers comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton last time; effective 2m, acts on S and G; easing in weights but needs more. Faded over 2m2f at Exeter on handicap debut; better over 1m7f since; stamina query today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (17/2 -6%)Boston Joe |
17/2(-6%) | (6) Boston Joe 17/2, Ran to form 8 1/2l third in a handicap chase at Ffos Las most recent run; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on Hy and G; respected back over hurdles. All five wins over fences but has a lower hurdle mark; went close on only previous C&D run. |

Having built on a fourth-placed handicap bow at Warwick when opening his account at Lingfield recently, Luwdvig merits respect in his follow-up bid. However, a quick turnaround and 7lb penalty could leave the seven-year-old vulnerable, with C&D winner CROSSBEAU more compelling. Although Tim Vaughan's charge was a beaten favourite at Fontwell last month, he's attractively weighted when taking Edward Vaughan's 7lb claim into account. Handicap debutant Monsieur Jaco and Boston Joe are others of interest.

A few to consider but perhaps LOCKED DOWN LAD can improve on a C&D second in November when dividing Crossbeau and Highbury Hill.

(4) (7/1 +0%)Luckinthecity |
7/1(+0%) | (4) Luckinthecity 7/1, Yard has won the last two runnings of this race. Pulled up in a handicap chase at Thurles latest. Blinkers are applied for the first time. Effective at 2-3m; yet to convince as a chaser, although well treated on novice hurdle form so could bounce back. Poor chasing last time but has the rating to win this if back to form returning to hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/1 +0%)Ellaat |
9/1(+0%) | (2) Ellaat 9/1, Had too much to do but ran to form when fourth, beaten 15l, in a handicap hurdle at Cork latest and needed the run. Returns off a short break. Effective at 2m and on a fair mark, so should come on for that outing. Just a fair effort in a Cork h'cap hurdle last time; will have to do a fair bit more today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (9/4 +0%)Embittered |
9/4(+0%) | (8) Embittered 9/4, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Cork on his latest start. Returns from a short break. Effective at 2-2 1/2m but is an inconsistent veteran, making him difficult to rely on despite his ability. He does have a class edge here dropping in grade. Poor over fences last twice but and did win a similar race at Sligo last year so respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (10/3 +0%)Themanintheboots |
10/3(+0%) | (3) Themanintheboots 10/3, Made too much use of and was comfortably held in a beginners chase at Punchestown last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time. Effective at 2 1/2-3m, but has yet to fire over fences and the mark looks high enough. Was poor over fences last time but has a chance back hurdling if returning to form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (10/3 +0%)Cafe Con Leche |
10/3(+0%) | (6) Cafe Con Leche 10/3, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Navan last time. Effective over 12-20f. Generally consistent on the Flat but has been inconsistent over hurdles, making his recent profile a mixed one coming into this contest. Out of form lately but rated 115 so has a big chance on these terms if returning to form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (22/1 +0%)Toofareastiswest |
22/1(+0%) | (5) Toofareastiswest 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Tramore on his latest start. Effective at 3m and suited by a sound surface. His form has been going the wrong way of late and he has a bit to prove at present. Hurdle and chase winner but has been pulled-up on last three starts between both spheres. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (40/1 +0%)Lady Bee Great |
40/1(+0%) | (7) Lady Bee Great 40/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown most recently. Effective at 2 1/2m. On a fair mark based on maiden form but has struggled in handicaps and should come on for that latest run. Mostly well beaten in handicaps and has plenty to find with some of these rivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/2 +8%)Rocky's Howya |
11/2(+8%) | (1) Rocky's Howya 11/2, Returned to form under a positive ride when dropped in trip and class, finishing a 6l third in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time. Effective at 3m with cut. Still a maiden but fairly treated on old form if building on that run. Not a bad effort in a h'cap hurdle last time but wrong at the weights with some of these. |

CAFE CON LECHE is a quirky type who has poor recent form but did score in November. Well suited to the forecast heavy ground, all the selection's wins have come at right-handed courses including twice here and, if he returns to his early-season form, he should figure prominently. Capable 12-year-old chaser Embittered won twice last year and while well held in recent races, he could go well, along with Rocky's Howya.

Though he has been struggling over fences lately, LUCKINTHECITY is well-treated by these weights back over hurdles and can win.

(3) (6/5 -9%)Le Beau Madrik |
6/5(-9%) | (3) Le Beau Madrik 6/5, Green and hampered but still did it cosily when making a very promising debut, winning a maiden hurdle here by a length last time. Returns from a short break, is effective at 2m and should improve for that initial experience with the longer trip a likely positive. Off the mark on hurdle debut here in November; steps up in trip; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (5/2 +0%)Eagles Reprieve |
5/2(+0%) | (2) Eagles Reprieve 5/2, Travelled well and ran to form when winning a maiden hurdle at Kelso by 2 1/2l last time under a positive ride. Back from a short break, effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and steadily progressing while remaining competitive. Bumper winner who won Kelso maiden on fourth hurdle start last time; likely improver. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (10/3 +63%)Loulou Madrik |
10/3(+63%) | (5) Loulou Madrik 10/3, Improved a little when finishing second, beaten 2 1/4l, in a maiden hurdle here last time. Effective at around 2m4f and progressing, he looks the type to do better once moving into handicaps. Showed best form by far when second over C&D last time and has an each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/2 -38%)Buddah Castle |
11/2(-38%) | (1) Buddah Castle 11/2, Green but made a promising debut when winning a maiden hurdle at Sedgefield, scoring by 1/2l last time. Returns from a short break, is effective at around 2 1/2m and is a point winner who should progress over hurdles. British point winner; won 4-runner maiden hurdle in December; should progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (40/1 +39%)Sparky Tom |
40/1(+39%) | (8) Sparky Tom 40/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle here last time. Returns from a short break, is effective between 2m and 2 1/2m, but a major step forward is required to become competitive. Home-bred; fair fifth over C&D on second run over hurdles; improvement likely.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (80/1 -344%)Return To Florida |
80/1(-344%) | (7) Return To Florida 80/1, Made a promising debut but looked in need of a stiffer test when finishing 11l third in a bumper at Musselburgh on his most recent run. Should improve for the step up in trip on his hurdle debut. Ex-pointer; fair 3rd in a bumper on rules debut; no easy task on first run over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (150/1 +0%)The Final Brig |
150/1(+0%) | (9) The Final Brig 150/1, Outpaced and produced a modest effort when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle at Wetherby on his most recent start. Back from a short break and is best watched for now. Closely related to smart chaser Into Overdrive but hasn't shown much and best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (150/1 +0%)Moonlight Trail |
150/1(+0%) | (10) Moonlight Trail 150/1, Improved a little from her debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Wetherby last time. Effective at around 2 1/2m and looks more suited to handicaps in due course. Modest form so far and marked improvement needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (200/1 -33%)Ivan's Legacy |
200/1(-33%) | (4) Ivan's Legacy 200/1, Made mistakes and finished well below debut form when well beaten in a novice hurdle at Kelso latest. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time; showed promise in bumpers but needs considerably more to figure over hurdles. Fair form in bumpers but well beaten in two runs over hurdles; tongue-tie now tried. |

LE BEAU MADRIK confirmed the promise that he displayed in bumpers when getting off the mark on his first outing over hurdles here in November. Dan Skelton's gelding might be useful and he can defy a penalty on this occasion. The consistent Eagles Reprieve could prove to be the main threat, although Buddah Castle and Loulou Madrik should not be discounted.

Course winner LE BEAU MADRIK should improve for the step up to 2m4f and is taken to beat Buddah Castle and Eagles Reprieve.

(4) (10/11 +52%)Misterdoc |
10/11(+52%) | (4) Misterdoc 10/11, Made a promising hurdles debut when second, beaten a length, in a juvenile hurdle at Auteuil last time. Returning from a break and now with a top yard, effective at 2m2f on very soft and a leading chance. Runner-up on sole French hurdle start and has joined a top yard for his British career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (7/2 +13%)Thewoodcorner |
7/2(+13%) | (7) Thewoodcorner 7/2, Made mistakes and looked green on hurdle debut when beaten 8 1/2l in a juvenile hurdle at Sandown last time. Trainer is in form, this comes after a short break, effective at 2m on soft, and should improve with experience. Novicey jumping on hurdle but in top hands and there can be optimism he'll improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/2 -35%)Senator |
9/2(-35%) | (6) Senator 9/2, Ran a promising race on debut when third, beaten 11l, in a 4yo hurdle at Kempton. Effective at 2m on good and should improve a little for that initial experience. Third on hurdle debut at Kempton and he's open to improvement for last year's winning yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (12/1 -100%)Only One Blue |
12/1(-100%) | (5) Only One Blue 12/1, Ran to form when an 8l third in the Wirral Juvenile Hurdle (Listed) at Aintree, having too much to do in a race dominated from the front. Effective at 2m on good, consistent, and the form of her debut win has been franked. Listed third against males at Aintree latest and she's a possible player under 7lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (14/1 +0%)Jedhi Knight |
14/1(+0%) | (3) Jedhi Knight 14/1, Made a promising debut when third, beaten 9l, in a juvenile hurdle at Wetherby on his most recent run. Effective at 2m on soft and should improve with that experience. Ran okay when third on hurdle debut; improvement needed but he's in good hands to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (16/1 -146%)Brave Guest |
16/1(-146%) | (2) Brave Guest 16/1, Unseated just as the race was developing in a 4yo hurdle at Ascot last time. Effective at 2m and proven on heavy and good ground, and capable of finding a small race. Runner-up on first two hurdle starts; unseated last time; he's one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (50/1 -79%)Berkshire Smudge |
50/1(-79%) | (1) Berkshire Smudge 50/1, Showed some promise on debut when fourth, beaten 16l, in a maiden hurdle at Doncaster last time. Effective at 2m1f on good to soft and open to improvement with that initial experience behind him. Flat winner; hurdle debut 4th gives him something to build; others have achieved far more. |

SENATOR offered plenty of encouragement on his third-placed hurdling debut at Kempton earlier this month and may exert his authority. Jamie Snowden's charge ran to a decent level on the Flat in France and is narrowly preferred to Misterdoc. The Goliath Du Berlais gelding was last seen finishing a respectable second at Auteuil and isn't taken lightly on his stable bow for Dan Skelton. Only One Blue is the pick of the remainder.

Having been runner-up at Auteuil in October on his sole hurdle start, MISTERDOC can make a winning start for Dan Skelton.

7/2(+0%) | (1) Cahirdown Boy 7/2, Unseated in a handicap chase at Cork last time when travelling strongly, in front and running on, and would have won. Effective at 2 1/2m, suited by plenty of give, and back in form. Good mark on hurdles and chase form. Looked set to win a chase at Cork last time only to unseat at the last, possible contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (8/1 +0%)The Little Yank |
8/1(+0%) | (2) The Little Yank 8/1, Travelled well and returned to form down in trip when landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Clonmel last time. Effective at 3m and remains well treated on old form. Improved his hurdling strike rate to 5-60 with recent Clonmel win, may find a few too good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/1 +0%)Grace Faraday |
9/1(+0%) | (6) Grace Faraday 9/1, Below form up in grade when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Cork last time. Effective at 2m6f-3m and had been in form prior to that latest effort. Stays well, winner and twice placed at this track, not the most consistent sort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (9/1 +0%)Likable Chancer |
9/1(+0%) | (14) Likable Chancer 9/1, Ran to form back over fences when beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark at Tramore last time. Effective at 2m6f-3m, back to form in his last two runs, and his current mark looks fair. 3-34 over fences, veteran's recent form is solid, 0-30 record over hurdles is a negative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (9/2 +0%)Without Exception |
9/2(+0%) | (9) Without Exception 9/2, Returned to form when beaten 4l off a 2lb lower mark here last time. Usually held up, effective at 2 1/2m, suited by cut in the ground, and generally consistent. Placed in two of his three starts this season, beaten favourite in between, leading chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (14/1 +0%)Survivors Sister |
14/1(+0%) | (4) Survivors Sister 14/1, Fell in a handicap hurdle here last time when keeping on and would have placed. Effective at 2m-2m3f, acts on yielding and soft, and should come on for that run if over the spill. Was keeping on when falling at the last here at Christmas, this longer trip could suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (14/1 +0%)Cordal Boy |
14/1(+0%) | (12) Cordal Boy 14/1, Bled when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Killarney most recently. Returning from a break, effective at 2m4f, and has yet to show anything of note. Two disappointing handicap runs before joining this stable, possibly unwise to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(16) (14/1 +0%)Coffeys Forge |
14/1(+0%) | (16) Coffeys Forge 14/1, Unsuited by a drop in trip when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Gowran Park last time. (13) (16/1 +0%)He Fitz In |
16/1(+0%) | (13) He Fitz In 16/1, Had every chance but was below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Stays 3m well, acts on good ground but is better suited by give, and has been inconsistent of late. Most recent win was in a chase at this venue in 2024, needs to step up on recent form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (18/1 +0%)Aleish Lass |
18/1(+0%) | (3) Aleish Lass 18/1, Well below form back chasing when finishing down the field in a handicap chase at Wexford most recently. Effective at 2m7f and acts on yielding and good ground, but has a bit to prove and may need this. Won over a longer trip at this venue last March, off for six months, can go well fresh. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (18/1 +0%)Dancing After Dark |
18/1(+0%) | (5) Dancing After Dark 18/1, Perhaps not suited by the ground when finishing down the field in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse most recently. Returning from a long layoff, usually held up, effective at 2m5f-3m, but inconsistent when last seen. Has been off the track for 12 months, only hurdles win came at this venue but over further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (20/1 +0%)Walkmethroughit |
20/1(+0%) | (8) Walkmethroughit 20/1, Ran to form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle here last time. Now switching to handicaps and looks the type to do better in this company. Has run in decent maiden company, hard to assess, a good run is not out of the question. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (25/1 +0%)Lispopple |
25/1(+0%) | (10) Lispopple 25/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel most recently. Off a short break, effective at 2 1/2m and acts with cut, but form has tailed off. Pulled up on final two 2024 starts after Roscommon win, struggled in sole 2025 start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(17) (25/1 +0%)Fortunate Outcome |
25/1(+0%) | (17) Fortunate Outcome 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m2f, acts on heavy ground, but has yet to show much so far. Third reserve, pulled up twice before sixth at Punchestown yesterday tried in a hood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (28/1 +0%)Diamond Island |
28/1(+0%) | (7) Diamond Island 28/1, Still green and showed little when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Navan most recently. Tongue-tie worn for the first time, off a short break, effective at 2 1/2m, with a longer trip a plus. Well exposed in points, weak form in maiden hurdle, tongue-tie tried, hard to make a case. |

(15) (33/1 +0%)Mister Rockefeller |
33/1(+0%) | (15) Mister Rockefeller 33/1, Made too much use of up in trip and did not stay when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel last time. Has yet to show anything in either code. First reserve, gave an improved display at Clonmel, well held by The Little Yank. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (50/1 +0%)Kofino |
50/1(+0%) | (11) Kofino 50/1, Still green and made mistakes when finishing down the field on his handicap debut in a hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m on heavy ground, inconsistent in a short career and must bounce back. Big price when last of 15 over 2m at this venue in his first handicap, up against it. |

WITHOUT EXCEPTION ran well in a higher-grade handicap here over Christmas and is ideally suited by conditions. A heavy-ground winner last February, he disappointed at Punchestown in November but performed well for third on his latest start and both the fourth and fifth-placed horses have scored subsequently. Veteran Cahirdown Boy was an unlucky loser at Cork and is noted along with The Little Yank.

Worthwhile form is in short supply here, but WITHOUT EXCEPTION appeals with the form of last month's course third boosted by the fourth

13/8(-103%) | (2) Spadestep 13/8, Made mistakes early, hung and threw the race away late when beaten 1 1/4l off a 1lb lower mark at Doncaster last time. Effective at 2m, debut form has been franked and he is improving over fences. Point/novice hurdle winner; fine run on chase debut; not as good last time; headgear tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/4 +56%)Pony Soprano |
7/4(+56%) | (1) Pony Soprano 7/4, Ran to form when taken on up front and finishing 11l third in a handicap chase at Haydock on his most recent run. That form has been franked. Effective at around 2 1/2m and in fair form, though his current mark asks for more. Maiden hurdle winner; best chase run when third at Haydock last time; chance down in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (5/2 +75%)The Grafter |
5/2(+75%) | (4) The Grafter 5/2, Well backed but raced wide and ran below form when finding little, comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Had been in good form prior and returns from a long layoff, effective at around 2m and looks on a fair mark for chase debut. Maiden; second in four h'cap hurdles last time; no easy task on chase debut after break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (14/1 +50%)Kids Say Lastgojoe |
14/1(+50%) | (5) Kids Say Lastgojoe 14/1, Yard won this race last year but he was pulled up in a maiden hurdle here on his latest start. Returns from a short break, is effective at around 2m, and has yet to match his bumper form over hurdles so looks up against it on chase debut. Bumper winner; not progress over hurdles; now goes chasing with a hood on for second time. |

The consistent SPADESTEP has filled second place on both starts over fences but the application of first-time cheekpieces could help him to go one better on this occasion. That said, Pony Soprano showed more when third at Haydock last time and he should not be discounted. The rest all have questions to answer, but The Grafter is the pick of them.

Spadestep was a fine second on his chase debut but preference is for PONY SOPRANO whose last piece of form has worked out well.

(4) (4/1 -33%)French Emperor |
4/1(-33%) | (4) French Emperor 4/1, Ran to form when seventh at Cheltenham last time. Effective at around 2m, but needs more than shown there if he is to get back to winning ways. Won his first two handicaps (both 2m); not at best last time but may still have potential. |

(5) (9/2 +31%)El Capitaine |
9/2(+31%) | (5) El Capitaine 9/2, Ran to form when upped in trip, finishing a 7 1/4l third in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton most recently. Effective around 2m5f and, a prolific pointer, may have more to offer over hurdles for his new yard. Multiple point winner who returned to rules with three good runs at end of last year. |

(6) (9/2 +50%)Castelfort |
9/2(+50%) | (6) Castelfort 9/2, Outpaced and with too much to do when beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time, hinting at better on quicker ground than ideal. Effective over 2m–2m4f but needs to build on that run. Ran quite well on faster-than-ideal ground when back over hurdles last month; interesting. |

(9) (6/1 -50%)Grenadier Jed |
6/1(-50%) | (9) Grenadier Jed 6/1, Not asked a question when falling in a handicap hurdle latest. Off a short break, he is effective around 2m4f and, described as progressive, holds a good chance if none the worse for that fall. Fell last month but was 3-3 in handicaps beforehand and remains of strong interest. |

(1) (15/2 +46%)West To The Bridge |
15/2(+46%) | (1) West To The Bridge 15/2, Returned to form when dropping in class off a reduced mark, appreciating easier ground when beaten 2 1/4l at Ludlow last time. Enjoys making it, remains well treated if building on that revival and wants 2m4f on easy ground. Clear second at Ludlow last month; this slower ground ought to suit even better. |

(10) (16/1 +36%)Torrent |
16/1(+36%) | (10) Torrent 16/1, Upped in trip and failed to stay when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time. Trainer is in form, but he looks best suited by 2m and may not want further. Placed twice this season but didn't fire last time and the headgear is left off again here. |

(12) (18/1 +0%)Slim Marvel |
18/1(+0%) | (12) Slim Marvel 18/1, Made too much use of when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Off a short break, she is effective over 2m4f–3m, consistent overall but with a poor strike-rate. Just 1-21 over hurdles in Ireland but Sean Bowen is booked for stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (18/1 +36%)Boyles Hill |
18/1(+36%) | (11) Boyles Hill 18/1, Won this race last year but made mistakes and was outpaced, never getting into a rhythm when well beaten in a handicap chase at Exeter latest. Effective at 2m4f and the return to hurdles could be a plus. Won this race and two other hurdles last season; chasing has not gone to plan this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (66/1 -32%)Pyramid Place |
66/1(-32%) | (2) Pyramid Place 66/1, Again below form when dropped in trip and comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time, but he has been out of form over hurdles in 2025. Safely held on both starts since rejoining this yard; others have much less to prove. |

GRENADIER JED was unbeaten in three handicap outings before falling at Plumpton 57 days ago and he may still remain ahead of the assessor. The form of the six-year-old's penultimate triumph at Fontwell has worked out extremely well, with the second and third scoring since, and he's fancied to regain the winning thread. Although thwarted in his hat-trick bid at Cheltenham last month, French Emperor may also have more to offer, along with High Tea.

Dual course winner CASTELFORT (nap) ran respectably on quicker-than-ideal ground when back over hurdles last time and gets the nod.

5/2(+0%) | (5) Likealightswitch 5/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 1 1/4l, in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel latest. Effective at 2m and acts on heavy and good ground, but still has a bit to find at this level. Placed in four of her six hurdle starts, took a step in the right direction at Clonmel. |

(8) (14/1 +0%)Musique Des Champs |
14/1(+0%) | (8) Musique Des Champs 14/1, Ran to form when well beaten in a mares' bumper here latest. Placed in a bumper in Britain, needs to step up on Irish bumper form, has changed stable. |

22/1(+0%) | (10) Success Mode 22/1, Showed minor promise on debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Cork, her only start to date. Effective at 2m but is likely to need more time before reaching her potential. Had over half the field behind her on debut at Cork, will probably need more experience. |

33/1(+0%) | (11) The Jam Lady 33/1, Vendangeur mare; dam ran well in a point; faces a tough enough task on debut against more experienced rivals. First foal; dam ran once in a point, out of a 3m hurdle winner, best watched. |

(4) (50/1 +0%)Lake Okeechobee |
50/1(+0%) | (4) Lake Okeechobee 50/1, Green and made mistakes when showing little again, finishing well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Killarney latest. 100/1(+0%) | (2) Clarin Breeze 100/1, Found little when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time. Effective at 2m but has plenty to find on what has been shown so far. Fair debut at Cork in November, two subsequent runs have dented confidence significantly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (125/1 +0%)Madam Elle |
125/1(+0%) | (7) Madam Elle 125/1, Continued in poor form when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel most recently. A major improvement is needed for her to become competitive. Down the field at massive odds in three maiden hurdle outings, unlikely to make an impact. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (200/1 +0%)Barrowline |
200/1(+0%) | (1) Barrowline 200/1, Never in the race when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel most recently. Likely one for longer trips further down the line and may need time before showing her best. 0-6 in points and has shown next to nothing in three starts over hurdles, safe to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (8/1 +64%)Louie's Folly |
8/1(+64%) | (13) Louie's Folly 8/1, Had too much to do when ridden to see out the trip, finishing comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time. Effective at 2m and could improve if ridden more positively. Modest on the Flat in Britain, caught the eye on Irish/hurdling debut, open to improvement. |

Keen-goer SAVEFORARAINYDAY has been far too enthusiastic in two hurdle runs so far but is capable. From the family of Time For A Run, the selection was beaten only six lengths at Navan in November having pulled very hard and again performed well in a decent Leopardstown maiden over Christmas. Likealightswitch has useful recent form and Jennyfromtheblock, who runs in a tongue-tie, is also interesting.

With Gavin Cromwell's string back in form, this is a suitable opportunity for SAVEFORARAINYDAY to take advantage of a drop in grade.

16/5(-16%) | (7) Kalo Athena 16/5, Improved when upped in trip in first-time cheekpieces, winning a handicap by 3l off a 6lb lower mark at Wetherby last time. Effective at 3m and handles soft ground. A multiple point winner who may have more to offer now she's had her head in front over hurdles. Won by 3l in a big field on second handicap start and she's a strong candidate up 6lb. |

11/1(+45%) | (4) Le Beau Gosse 11/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 24l, in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time. Effective at 2m and has shown minor promise in France but is yet to match that for this yard. Ex-French 5yo who could benefit from the step up in trip and first-time headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (12/1 +52%)Half Track |
12/1(+52%) | (5) Half Track 12/1, Had every chance but was below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle last time. 22/1(+33%) | (10) Annies Gold 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Effective over 2 1/2–3m and suited by good to soft ground. A longer trip should suit, but she needs to bounce back from that latest effort. Soundly beaten/pulled up this season in first two h'caps; hard to fancy on that evidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (25/1 +38%)Blue Indigo |
25/1(+38%) | (9) Blue Indigo 25/1, May not have stayed on testing ground when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Ayr last time. Effective at 2m5f on good ground but has a bit to prove in handicaps based on what he has shown so far. Well beaten on h'cap debut but might not be a forlorn hope on this forecast better ground. |

KALO ATHENA displayed marked improvement to score at Wetherby latest, with the step up to this trip really bringing out the best in the seven-year-old mare. She's very much worth sticking with for now and gets the nod ahead of Dillarchie, who finished a solid second at Catterick before Christmas. It's also worth keeping a close eye on Eire Street.

Two-time point winner KALO ATHENA (nap) dispatched a big field at Wetherby last month and can make it 2-2 in cheekpieces.

(4) (100/1 +0%)Storming Nelson |
100/1(+0%) | (4) Storming Nelson 100/1, Ran below form when fourth, beaten 23l, in a handicap hurdle at Exeter last time. Effective at 2m and suited by plenty of cut. Has a bit to find on this chase debut. Made the frame in three low-grade handicap hurdles this season; tall order on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (125/1 -25%)Dj Pete |
125/1(-25%) | (3) Dj Pete 125/1, Was outpaced and below form when pulled up in a handicap chase at Haydock last time. Cheekpieces are fitted for the first time. Effective at 2m–2m4f but looks up against it in this company. Came second in Class 5 handicap in November but faces a tough task on these terms. |

Stencil has been tasked with a number of lofty assignments and, although yet to score in Britain, he is the one to beat on these terms. However, JUBY BALL might have made it four from four over obstacles were it not for a late spill at Ffos Las. Evan Williams' gelding remains capable of better and is fancied to put that mishap behind him, especially now back at 2m. Palacio completes the shortlist.

He would meet Stencil on much better terms in a handicap but, nevertheless, the vote goes to promising 7yo JUBY BALL.

(9) (12/1 +0%)Premier Rogue |
12/1(+0%) | (9) Premier Rogue 12/1, Ran below debut form when a 56l third in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse latest, but bumper form suggests more to come over hurdles. Placed in two bumpers and two maiden hurdles so needs to find more. |

16/1(+0%) | (12) Tiger Twins 16/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 7l, in a maiden hurdle here last time, but the drop back in trip may not be ideal. Solid efforts in maiden hurdles at Down Royal and at this track; shouldn't be far away. |

66/1(-32%) | (11) Thisain'tthat 66/1, A Vendangeur gelding and half-brother to Feivel, who was very useful over 22f, and looks an unlikely winner on debut. Decent damline but unsold for E6,000 as a foal; best watched on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (150/1 +25%)Nukie's Artic |
150/1(+25%) | (7) Nukie's Artic 150/1, Appeared not to stay when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Cork most recently and returns from a long layoff. Well behind in three maiden hurdles so can't be fancied on return. |

State Man won the 2022 renewal of this race and his stablemate LAURETS D'ESTRUVAL can do the business this time having performed well here over Christmas. The selection is well suited to heavy ground and can get the better of winning point-to-pointer Speculateur, who has also been running well on testing ground. Premier Rouge and Bergamasquo are others to bear in mind.

With improvement to come from his fine Irish debut over C&D last time and with his yard in better form, LAURETS D'ESTRUVAL can score.

(4) (10/1 -233%)Twistthenightaway |
10/1(-233%) | (4) Twistthenightaway 10/1, Was outpaced and ran below form when comfortably held over a shorter trip in a novice hurdle at Hereford last time. Effective at 2m to 2 1/2m and acts on good and good to soft ground, she is in fair form and may do better in handicaps. Pedigree suggests trip will be a good fit; possible improver for top yard on h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (11/1 -22%)It's Maisy |
11/1(-22%) | (8) It's Maisy 11/1, Was outpaced and ran below form when dropped back in trip and well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Effective over 2m4f to 3m and suited by plenty of cut, she had been consistent prior to that latest run. Step back in right direction at Wetherby in November but tailed off at Uttoxeter since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (16/1 -100%)Mary Stanford |
16/1(-100%) | (2) Mary Stanford 16/1, Had no obvious excuse when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Catterick last time. Off a short break, she is effective at 2 1/2m, acts with cut, and her debut form has been franked, but she needs to prove her ability remains after a lay-off. Could be a contender if tapping back into her early promise on this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (20/1 -25%)Our Laura B |
20/1(-25%) | (7) Our Laura B 20/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Sedgefield last time. Wearing a tongue-tie for the first time and off a short break, she is down in the weights but needs to prove her ability remains after a lay-off. Pulled up on both runs this term but she's 2-2 here and on reduced mark; watch the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (25/1 -14%)Rose's Dart |
25/1(-14%) | (5) Rose's Dart 25/1, May have found the ground too soft when finishing down the field on her handicap debut at Carlisle last time. Usually held up, she is off a short break, effective at 2 1/2m, and showed promise on her first couple of starts but has been poor of late. Has shown signs of promise but was tailed off on handicap debut at Carlisle in November. |

It could be worth siding with PITWOOD ROAD, who has to shoulder the burden of top-weight but was in good form at Carlisle prior to Christmas when making the return to hurdles a successful one. She can go in again, but it won't be easy because Lizzie Luna has been knocking on the door at Musselburgh in recent starts. Just Call Me Lucy is noted too.

Dan Skelton saddles TWISTTHENIGHTAWAY, who is open to improvement now moving into handicaps at a trip that should suit.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (40/1 +20%)Daring To Dream |
40/1(+20%) | (4) Daring To Dream 40/1, Keen and with too much to do when fourth, beaten 16l, in a novice hurdle at Hereford last time, having never been put into the race. Usually held up, she is effective at 2m but needs improvement. Needs to learn to settle better but both hurdle runs were quite encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (50/1 -52%)Milady Du Breuil |
50/1(-52%) | (11) Milady Du Breuil 50/1, Showed some promise on her hurdles debut when fourth, beaten 8 1/2l, in a mares' hurdle at Leicester last time. 80/1(+20%) | (8) Karlita Desbois 80/1, Ran to form on her hurdles debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Huntingdon last time. Returns from a short break, is effective at 2m, and improvement is likely with that experience. Made low-key hurdle debut in the autumn and remains best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (80/1 +20%)Man Maid |
80/1(+20%) | (9) Man Maid 80/1, Produced a similar level to her debut when fourth, beaten 40l, in a novice hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective at 2m and looks the type to do better when moving into handicaps. Not disgraced when remote fourth on recent hurdle debut at Ffos Las but needs to improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (200/1 0%)Don't Cheddar Tear |
200/1(0%) | (5) Don't Cheddar Tear 200/1, Again ran to a poor level at Fontwell on her latest start. Has no worthwhile form to her name and returns from a long absence. She looks a no-hoper in this contest. Showed no promise on first four hurdling starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (250/1 -67%)Issadora |
250/1(-67%) | (6) Issadora 250/1, Pulled up in a maiden bumper at Hereford on her latest outing. Returns from a long layoff and now switches to hurdling, where significant improvement will be required. Struggled and was pulled up when a big-priced outsider for last season's bumper debut. |

Charisma Cat might not get many better opportunities to break her hurdling duck, but that was supposed to be the case at Wincanton on Boxing Day. Sent off a short-priced favourite, she was ultimately let down by her jumping and CLONDAW PARK is preferred. The point winner was seemingly going well before unseating on her hurdling/Rules bow at Newbury, a race in which Charisma Cat finished second. She ought to be wiser and is taken to come out on top. Trinity Street is also noted.

Clondaw Park remains a very interesting prospect but CHARISMA CAT is taken to make amends for last month's odds-on reverse.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (5/1 +0%)Marelly |
5/1(+0%) | (1) Marelly 5/1, Went clear and held on when improving on recent form under an aggressive ride to land a handicap by a neck off a 7lb lower mark at Gowran Park last time. Effective at 2m3f, acts with cut, and in good form with that run since franked emphatically. Gave a much-improved display when going close over 2m3f here last time, worth considering. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

10/1(+0%) | (7) Finnicky Filly 10/1, Scored by 1 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Clonmel on her penultimate start. Beat Wild Wild Win at Clonmel early last month, pulled up at same venue since, unreliable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (11/2 +0%)Wild Wild Wind |
11/2(+0%) | (13) Wild Wild Wind 11/2, Raced wide, was a bit below form and conceded first run when finishing 24l third in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel most recently. Effective at 2m; still a maiden but in fair form. Two Clonmel efforts give her a good chance of exploiting a very modest handicap mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (12/1 +0%)Siul Molly Siul |
12/1(+0%) | (10) Siul Molly Siul 12/1, Ran to current form when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel on her latest start. 20/1(+0%) | (6) Donnrua Dream 20/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse on his latest start. Blinkers are applied for the first time; suited by plenty of cut but described as regressive. 2-15 over hurdles, last success was in March 2022, no signs of ending the drought. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (20/1 +0%)La Tene |
20/1(+0%) | (11) La Tene 20/1, Still green and never travelled when outclassed and finishing down the field in an auction hurdle at Thurles most recently, needing the run. Tailed off at Thurles when running for the first time in two years, some promise in 2024. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (25/1 +0%)Glens Sensation |
25/1(+0%) | (8) Glens Sensation 25/1, Possibly unsuited by soft ground when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Effective over 2m to 2 1/2m and acts on good ground, though current form is poor. Point winner in 2023; yet to show signs of winning potential in eight starts over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (25/1 +0%)Mudslide Molly |

(4) (40/1 +0%)Falcon Park |
40/1(+0%) | (4) Falcon Park 40/1, Back up in trip and may not have stayed when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse most recently. Suited by 2m with cut, with the handicapper relenting but current form is poor. Has been struggling to find his best form since joining this yard, hard to make a case. |

BIG DEE won a Down Royal bumper in November 2023 and took a big step forward on his handicap hurdle debut when third over C&D last time. The Eoin McCarthy-trained gelding had the measure of Marelly (seventh) and that rival now carries a 7lb penalty having won at Gowran Park last week. Uptaurintop had Le Fanu and Donnrua Dream in behind when narrowly beaten over 2m3f here last month and is noted, while Finnicky Filly beat Wild Wild Wind on her penultimate start at Clonmel but has since disappointed at the same venue.

A third placing over C&D at Christmas gives rise to hope that BIG DEE (nap) can return to something like the form he showed in bumpers

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (25/1 -178%)Marown |
25/1(-178%) | (2) Marown 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Aintree on his latest start and returns from a short break. Effective over trips from 2m4f to 3m but looks an unlikely winner on recent form. 12yo; needs to prove how much ability he retains but on a handy mark and not written off. |

Whilst many of these arrive with something to prove, it might pay to side with IF NOT FOR DYLAN. The 11-year-old has yet to really fire this term but his latest Wetherby effort wasn't without promise and having won this contest from an identical mark 12 months ago, he could take the necessary step forward. Fenland Tiger struggled in the Tommy Whittle last month but is a previous winner of this race himself, and the drop in class ought to be beneficial. The Big Breac completes the shortlist.

2024 winner FENLAND TIGER faced a tough task in the Tommy Whittle at Haydock last time and he's the selection ahead of The Big Breac

28/1(-100%) | (1) Supervisor 28/1, Yard won this race last year. Outpaced and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap chase here latest. Off a short break; effective around 3m on soft or good to soft. Capable of better and the yard can get them fit. Long in the tooth now but ought to find this much easier than last month's seasonal debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (28/1 +30%)Bolsover Bill |
28/1(+30%) | (11) Bolsover Bill 28/1, No show from off the pace when finishing down the field in a handicap chase at Ludlow. Effective over 2m4f–3m on heavy or good to soft. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(15) (80/1 -142%)Roi Lion |
80/1(-142%) | (15) Roi Lion 80/1, Needed the run on stable debut when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle at Fontwell. Effective at 2m with cut; showed promise in France but has plenty to prove for the new yard. Ex-French maiden; made low-key British debut in recent novice hurdle. |

FAT FACED COLUMBO is unlikely to be much of a price in here but impressed with his jumping when scoring at Taunton latest and is open to any amount of improvement. Second in an Irish point-to-point, he is having just his third start over the larger obstacles and it's going to take a big performance to deny him another victory. The dangers are Ali Star Bert and Phantom Getaway.

The suggestion is GENIETOILE, who was placed over 2m3f here on his chasing debut and remains very unexposed at around 3m.

Ran well enough at Fairyhouse on return but looked beaten when falling back there since. |

20/1(+0%) | (7) Rubi Tuesday 20/1, Outpaced but ran to form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time. (6) (11/2 +21%)Kelly's Cosmos |
11/2(+21%) | (6) Kelly's Cosmos 11/2, Improved when a 7l third in a handicap hurdle here on his most recent run. Effective over 2m-2m4f on a sound surface, his mark is easing and he has a bigger effort in him. Not beaten far over C&D last time; up 1lb but there could be more to come and respected. |

LENJOLEUR DE PALMA has progressed since switching yards in September. Three C&D efforts have yielded two placed efforts and a comprehensive victory, which came in November. He found only one too strong in a valuable Listed handicap at the Christmas Festival last time and Eric McNamara's charge is fancied to record a second career win. Is Charlie Around enters calculations having finished second to an improver here latest, while Kelly's Cosmos (third) had the measure of Naas winner River Vale (eighth) over track and trip last month.

Only beaten 1.75l in a Listed hurdle over C&D last time, LENJOLEUR DE PALMA had previously won here and can defy a further 3lb rise.

Wears a hood for the first time, is effective at 2 1/2m, and should come on for that latest outing. Ex-Nigel Hawke; third in h'cap chase on stable debut; 2lb wrong; hood tried; interesting. |

(5) (16/1 -33%)Rightbackatyou |
16/1(-33%) | (5) Rightbackatyou 16/1, Made mistakes and was disappointing on handicap debut when well beaten in a hurdle at Musselburgh latest. Off a short break, he is yet to find suitable conditions over hurdles and is likely to need further than 2m. Ex-Irish pointer/hunter chaser; some promise over hurdles but disappointing last two runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (16/1 +36%)Diamond Trilogy |
16/1(+36%) | (8) Diamond Trilogy 16/1, Never got into a rhythm and made a poor chase debut when well beaten in a handicap chase at Sedgefield latest. Usually held up, he returns from a short break and has yet to show much under rules. Lightly raced; ordinary form over hurdles and in a chase and is best watched for now. |

(1) (40/1 -43%)Quickasican |
40/1(-43%) | (1) Quickasican 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Hexham latest when returning from a long layoff. Effective over 2-2 1/2m on past evidence, but although fairly treated on old form, needs to prove ability remains after the absence. Former Irish pointer; three placed runs in 2022 but lightly raced and no form since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (50/1 +24%)Steel Soldier |
50/1(+24%) | (10) Steel Soldier 50/1, Made mistakes, was outpaced, and finished well held down the field on handicap debut in a hurdle here most recently. He has yet to fire over hurdles. Ex-pointer; only modest form under rules and others have stronger claims. |

VELVET VULCAN wasn't always the most fluent at Ayr, but that didn't stop him from finishing within a head of the winner. The pair pulled clear of the third, who has since finished a creditable second, and should this son of Nathaniel find further progress, a maiden hurdling triumph could await. Snow Dragon continues to run well in defeat and is expected to be on the premises again, along with Time Was, who could fare better on her second outing following a wind operation.

Parish Star is one to consider, but preference is for VELVET VULCAN, who ran so well to be second at Ayr last time.

(2) (7/2 -75%)Big John Ollie |
7/2(-75%) | (2) Big John Ollie 7/2, Outpaced early but finished well when third, beaten 4l, in an amateurs' bumper at Ffos Las on debut. (4) (13/2 +0%)Keltype |
13/2(+0%) | (4) Keltype 13/2, Showed some promise when fourth, beaten 7 1/4l, in a bumper here on debut. Off a short break, effective at 2m1f with cut and a good chance in this if building on that initial effort. Lacked a change of gear when fourth over C&D on debut; slower ground may help today. |

(5) (100/1 +0%)Mr Winter |
100/1(+0%) | (5) Mr Winter 100/1, Made a moderate debut when well beaten in a bumper at Exeter on his only start. Off a short break, but needs to show marked improvement to feature. Out of a bumper winner but 50-1 and well beaten on last month's debut at Exeter (soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (200/1 -100%)Jubilee Jack |
200/1(-100%) | (10) Jubilee Jack 200/1, No show from off the pace when well beaten in a juvenile bumper at Wincanton on his only start. Off a short break and needs clear improvement to get involved. Raced too freely and was always behind when 50-1 for debut at Wincanton. |

Sam Thomas has his string in good order and newcomer Justalargewhisky is a must for the shortlist, along with Huntingdon winner Westbrooke Boy and Chepstow fourth Keltype. They all have BIG JOHN OLLIE to beat, though, as he was noted staying on into third on debut at Ffos Las in October and will have no doubt improved plenty since for a top yard.

Barrow Hill Lad will find this easier than his latest assignment but preference is for Huntingdon winner WESTBROOKE BOY.

(4) (13/8 +35%)Homme De Fer |
13/8(+35%) | (4) Homme De Fer 13/8, Was a bit keen but ran to form when third, beaten 1/4l off 54 last time, and remains on the same mark. From a top course trainer and has a chance under similar conditions. Not well drawn but still one of the better options in his current vein of form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (6/1 +14%)Fistral Beach |
6/1(+14%) | (5) Fistral Beach 6/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Southwell last time. Trainer is in form and she is suited by 7f, giving her a chance on that latest run. C&D winner who ran pretty well last time at Southwell and needs considering. |

(2) (11/1 -83%)Bungle Bay |
11/1(-83%) | (2) Bungle Bay 11/1, Too keen and below form when seventh, beaten 5l off 55 last time, and runs from the same mark here. Returns from a short break and the return to this track is a plus. Below par at Newcastle two months ago but a winner here the time before. |

(6) (12/1 +14%)Buttercross Flyer |
12/1(+14%) | (6) Buttercross Flyer 12/1, Again below form when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Lingfield last time. Effective at 7f, but a bounce back is needed on the back of recent efforts. A modest strike-rate overall and last win was in a classified race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (14/1 +13%)Tootsie |
14/1(+13%) | (7) Tootsie 14/1, Ran to her recent level when fourth, beaten 4l in a classified race at Southwell last time. (3) (28/1 -75%)Mythical Isle |
28/1(-75%) | (3) Mythical Isle 28/1, Did not get home when beaten 9l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Effective at 6f, but a bounce back is required following that effort. Best run was here two starts back but that was over 6f and he's disappointed since. |

(8) (33/1 -136%)Eye Of The Water |
33/1(-136%) | (8) Eye Of The Water 33/1, Was a bit below his best when beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark at Lingfield last time. Returns from a short break, but the veteran looks vulnerable in this company. This 10yo is bidding to end a long losing run on his 100th career start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (200/1 -100%)Musaytir |
200/1(-100%) | (9) Musaytir 200/1, Remains below his best after being beaten 6l in a classified race here last time. Effective over 6-7f, but has yet to show much since returning to action. Strike-rate of 1-49 and comfortably held in both his races after a long absence. |

How's The Guvnor gained compensation for several creditable efforts in defeat when landing the spoils over 1m at Southwell recently. However, the five-year-old has a 6lb higher mark to overcome and HOMME DE FER may have his measure. Tony Carroll's inmate arrives on the back of a close third at Kempton and, off an unchanged rating, may prove to be better treated. Fistral Beach is the pick of the remainder.

Tony Carroll's HOMME DE FER is likeably consistent for this level and looks sure to be involved despite his wide draw.

(4) (4/1 +0%)Burning Ability |
4/1(+0%) | (4) Burning Ability 4/1, Improved up in trip when second, beaten 4 1/4l, in an auction hurdle here latest. Effective at 2m–2m3f and acts on yielding and heavy ground. Has been in good form in bumpers and over hurdles and remains competitive. Second in a maiden hurdle at this venue, has an edge over Of Land And Sea on bumper form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (4/1 +0%)Jury Time |
4/1(+0%) | (9) Jury Time 4/1, Travelled well when making a very promising debut, finishing a 1/2l third in a mares' bumper here on her most recent run. Effective at 2m and acts on heavy ground. A point winner who should have more to offer. Point winner, beaten by two outsiders in a C&D bumper in testing conditions a month ago. |

(1) (5/1 +0%)Hezekiah Moscow |
5/1(+0%) | (1) Hezekiah Moscow 5/1, The yard won this race last year. Fell in a maiden point at Oldcastle on his latest start when would've placed and is returning from a long layoff. Showed promise in a point and has since joined a top yard. Jumping let him down when favourite on only point-to-point start, likely contender. |

(5) (11/1 +0%)King Idaho |
11/1(+0%) | (5) King Idaho 11/1, Outpaced but made a promising debut when beaten 9l in an auction bumper at Naas. Effective at 2m and acts on heavy ground. Should improve for that initial experience. Finished behind Burning Ability and Of Land And Sea at Naas so needs to raise his game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (12/1 +0%)Of Land And Sea |
12/1(+0%) | (2) Of Land And Sea 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 5l in an auction bumper at Naas last time. Effective at 2m and acts on heavy and good ground. Arrives in good form. Has around 2 1/2l to find with the more experienced Burning Ability on running at Naas. |

(6) (12/1 +0%)Alzurs Thunder |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Alzurs Thunder 12/1, Made a promising start when a 2 1/2l winner of a maiden point at Turtulla on debut. Returns from a long absence. The form of that point win looks nothing special. Looked useful when winning a point, form has not worked out, long absence to overcome. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (20/1 +0%)Desmond George |
20/1(+0%) | (7) Desmond George 20/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 15l, in a 4yo bumper at Navan latest. Returning from a break and effective at 2m. In fair form and may want further than 2m in time. Ran prominently for a long way at Navan last September, rivals with recent form preferred. |

(3) (33/1 +0%)Prince Malinas |
33/1(+0%) | (3) Prince Malinas 33/1, 23,000 euros Malinas gelding; half-brother to Polly's Fortune, high-class at 19f; yard not known for rules runners. Half-brother to Willie Mullins-trained bumper winner Polly's Fortune, makes debut at seven. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (66/1 +0%)Dlightofdsun |
66/1(+0%) | (10) Dlightofdsun 66/1, Failed to build on her debut when well beaten in a mares' bumper at Cork latest. Effective at 2m and acts on soft ground. Needs plenty more. Made some late progress at Clonmel on debut, failed to improve when in rear at Cork. |

GILLANE showed promise for Kevin O'Donnell between the flags and under Rules and may now open his account having made the switch to Gavin Cromwell recently. The selection was a creditable fifth behind the smart Thedeviluno in a Gowran maiden hurdle before beating all bar Charismatic Kid in a bumper at Navan. Point-to-point winner Jury Time rates an obvious threat after finishing a close third here at the Christmas Festival, while Burning Ability has the edge on both Of Land And Sea and King Idaho judged on last month's Naas effort. Hezekiah Moscow was let down by his jumping in a point-to-point, but it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour on Rules debut.

A recent addition to the Cromwell team, GILLANE has good credentials on hurdles form and last month's second in a Navan bumper

(4) (3/1 -20%)Bad Habits |
3/1(-20%) | (4) Bad Habits 3/1, Bit keen but ran to form when fourth, beaten 3l off 54 last time, and is 1lb lower here. Effective over 6/7f and a consistent sort. C&D winner in September off only 2lb lower and respectable in defeat since then. |

(5) (7/2 -5%)Bandello |
7/2(-5%) | (5) Bandello 7/2, Ran to form when beaten a short-head off a 1lb lower mark here last time. Off a short break, effective over 7-10f, and a maiden but in fair form. 0-20 but was running well when last seen in November and has a solid record at this track. |

(1) (13/2 -44%)River Wharfe |
13/2(-44%) | (1) River Wharfe 13/2, Again below form when beaten 6l in a handicap here last time. Trained by a top course trainer and effective over 7-9f, but needs to show more than he has of late. Multiple winner but not overly competitive in recent races & perhaps best at 1m these days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (9/1 -13%)Rogue Thunder |
9/1(-13%) | (7) Rogue Thunder 9/1, Too keen and below best when beaten 4l in a classified race here last time. Effective over 6/7f, and a step back up in trip may suit. Recent efforts not overly encouraging, the latest here four days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (25/1 +0%)Oldbury Lad |
25/1(+0%) | (8) Oldbury Lad 25/1, Too keen but did his best work late when beaten 4 1/4l in a classified race here last time. Usually held up and more is needed back in a handicap. Made it 0-16 when never a factor here four days ago over 6f as a 50-1 chance; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (33/1 -106%)Paps Of Jura |
33/1(-106%) | (6) Paps Of Jura 33/1, No-show from off the pace when finishing down the field in a handicap here most recently. Has yet to show anything. In rear throughout when 16-1 for his recent handicap debut here over 8.6f; has to step up. |

BANDELLO did little wrong when a close second over C&D in November and a similar performance on his reappearance may prove sufficient. A 1lb nudge up in the ratings for Jennie Candlish's inmate looks workable and he gets the nod over Bad Habits. The four-year-old may have found his latest fourth over 6f at Newcastle too sharp and he shouldn't be underestimated. The lightly-raced Paps Of Jura is worth a second look in the betting.

The 4yo BAD HABITS has held his form well since winning over C&D at Christmas and he's back over a better trip than last time.

First foal out of a French 7.5f winner; gelded ahead of this debut; market instructive. |

(1) (13/8 -164%)Horwich |
13/8(-164%) | (1) Horwich 13/8, Scored a touch cosily despite looking a little quirky in a hood when a 1/2l winner in a maiden here on debut. Effective at 7f; possibly not the most straightforward but there is more to come. Won over C&D despite not settling too well so that was a promising start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (33/1 +0%)Lucky Sevens |
33/1(+0%) | (4) Lucky Sevens 33/1, Green and missed the break when showing nothing and finishing well beaten in a maiden here on his only start. Speed on the sire's side and more stamina on the dam's side; all to prove after a poor debut. Always behind after starting slowly over 6f here last week and also lost a shoe. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (40/1 -21%)Big Moonrise |
40/1(-21%) | (2) Big Moonrise 40/1, Badly outpaced when comfortably held in a novice here last time. Bred to want 10f; a big gelding who looks to be crying out for 8f or further. Pretty much tailed off in his first two races and looks one for modest handicaps. |

The market may prove informative in relation to the well-bred Kokushoku's chance and he boasts enough speed in his pedigree to suggest that an opening distance of 7f is within his compass. With that being said, the most solid proposition is debut winner HORWICH, who scored a shade cosily over C&D last month and that experience could prove decisive. Big Moonrise may fare best of the other two.

The newcomer Kokushoku could easily be good enough but without the help of market vibes preference is for the penalised HORWICH.

11/2(+27%) | (9) The Defiant 11/2, Below form when beaten 3l in a handicap at Lingfield last time. Suited by 5f and now drops into a classified race. Respected on this ease in grade. Second of five at Lingfield on return from a break and endured a wide trip there last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (12/1 -85%)Sultan Of Oj |
12/1(-85%) | (8) Sultan Of Oj 12/1, Ran to form when 1 1/2l third in a handicap here on his most recent run. Tries a visor for the first time and has a wide draw. Effective at 5/6f but remains an inconsistent maiden. Ran well from the front when in first-time cheekpieces over C&D and now goes in a visor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (25/1 +0%)Stoneacre Girl |
25/1(+0%) | (7) Stoneacre Girl 25/1, Stopped quickly and finished down the field in a handicap here on her most recent start. Returns from a break and is effective at 5f. Comes here in poor form. 14-race maiden who was tailed off in a 6f handicap here in September on yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (40/1 -60%)Causin A Commotion |
40/1(-60%) | (2) Causin A Commotion 40/1, Below form when beaten 10l in a handicap at Newcastle last time. Returns from a short break and is effective at 5/6f. Needs a bounce back to feature. Two course wins for Kevin Ryan last winter but has struggled in four runs for current yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (200/1 -33%)La Lunita |
200/1(-33%) | (4) La Lunita 200/1, Has shown no worthwhile form to date and comes here from a wide draw. Has been a poor performer so far and needs marked improvement to get involved. Finished last behind Midnight Call here earlier this month and she has no form claims. |

MIDNIGHT CALL is taking her racing well at present and might be worth sticking with as she bids to make it four wins from her last five starts. She saves her best performances for this track and gets a confident vote ahead of The Defiant, who is also a C&D winner and he'll appreciate dropping in class. Sultan Of Oj is interesting as well.

The mare MIDNIGHT CALL (nap) is the one with momentum behind her and she's well drawn to attack from stall 3.

(5) (11/4 +21%)Slowdownbarney |
11/4(+21%) | (5) Slowdownbarney 11/4, No-show from off the pace when finishing down the field in a handicap at Dundalk most recently. Usually held up, effective over 12-14f, but remains 2lb above his last winning mark. Recent form in Ireland fails to offer much encouragement but has the visor back on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (10/3 +0%)Prince Quattro |
10/3(+0%) | (1) Prince Quattro 10/3, Strong at the finish when landing a handicap by a neck off a 3lb lower mark at Southwell last time. Effective over 12-16f and respected after that breakthrough Flat win. Shed maiden status on Flat with narrow success at Southwell (1m6f); penalised accordingly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/2 +0%)Daaris |
7/2(+0%) | (3) Daaris 7/2, Below form when sixth, beaten 17l off a mark of 63 last time, and runs from the same mark here. Effective over 14-16f but a bounce back is required. His three AW wins have all been here, the latest over C&D over Christmas off 3lb lower. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (5/1 -11%)Himself |
5/1(-11%) | (7) Himself 5/1, Improved when scoring with a bit in hand, landing a handicap by 3l off a 5lb lower mark at Southwell last time. Effective over 12-16f and may have more to offer under a penalty. Carries a penalty in a stronger race but clearly a contender in his current form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (13/2 +35%)Billy Bathgate |
13/2(+35%) | (6) Billy Bathgate 13/2, A bit below form when fourth, beaten 14l off 58 last time, and is 1lb lower here. Effective over 14-16f, though this drop in trip is not certain to suit. Won over further here in December but hasn't offered a lot in four subsequent races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (11/1 +31%)Chicago Storm |
11/1(+31%) | (2) Chicago Storm 11/1, Below form when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton most recently. Effective over 10-12f but has a bit to prove on his return to the Flat. Fell over fences in early December and tailed off back over hurdles on Boxing Day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (20/1 -150%)Eagle One |
20/1(-150%) | (4) Eagle One 20/1, Took a step back in the right direction when beaten 6l in a handicap at Leicester last time, having dropped in trip. Returns after a short break and a slight step back up in trip looks a plus. Didn't build on his Lingfield second in August and now back from another lengthy break. |

HIMSELF won with something up his sleeve at Southwell last week and should give it a good go under a 5lb penalty. Prince Quattro is also penalised for scoring at the Nottinghamshire venue recently and he should have a say in the finish, while Billy Bathgate won over the extended 2m when last sighted at this track so he's also a player.

Irish raider SLOWDOWNBARNEY could be a factor with the return of the visor looking significant.

(7) (2/1 +33%)Oh So Perfect |
2/1(+33%) | (7) Oh So Perfect 2/1, Put in a fine effort despite going fast early when beaten 3 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Southwell last time. Her trainer is in form, she is suited by 6f, and she looks on a fair mark. Ridden more positively on stable debut at Southwell (6f) and hung on for some place money. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (16/5 -28%)Calabrian Soldato |
16/5(-28%) | (8) Calabrian Soldato 16/5, Ran to form off a good mark when dropped in trip and beaten 3/4l off this mark at Chelmsford last time. He has a wide draw but is suited by 5f and looks worth this step back up in trip. First run in cheekpieces and a handicap when going down narrowly at Chelmsford (5f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (5/1 +17%)Luna Beaux |
5/1(+17%) | (6) Luna Beaux 5/1, Made too much use of but ran to the balance of her form when beaten 6 1/4l in a maiden at Dundalk last time. She had been in good form prior, but looks exposed as ordinary despite this being a weak race. Beaten 2.5l in a 6f Dundalk handicap in November; ran in a maiden latest; new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (8/1 +27%)Mon Petit Frere |
8/1(+27%) | (9) Mon Petit Frere 8/1, Made too much use of when back from a break and beaten 7l in a handicap at Southwell last time. He was tried in a tongue-tie latest and has yet to show much ability. Beaten 7l when tongue tied for handicap debut at Southwell and was behind Oh So Perfect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (10/1 -11%)He Bangs The Drums |
10/1(-11%) | (2) He Bangs The Drums 10/1, Ran about to form but made plenty of use of when beaten 4l off a 3lb higher mark at Lingfield last time. A tongue-tie is applied for the first time, although he has a wide draw and the mark looks stiff. Never threatened in two nurseries and again with blinkers tried at Lingfield 13 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (12/1 -20%)Forceful Lady |
12/1(-20%) | (5) Forceful Lady 12/1, Made too much use of and was very disappointing when well beaten in a handicap at Lingfield latest. She had been in good form beforehand and is on a competitive mark for this drop back to 6f. Has shown enough on her good days to believe she might nick a race off this low a mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (14/1 -87%)Warrior Queen |
14/1(-87%) | (1) Warrior Queen 14/1, Cheekpieces are worn for the first time after running about to the balance of her form when beaten 7l into third in a handicap at Lingfield last time. She wants 6f or further and needs to find more. Questionable whether she improved when third at Lingfield; same mark here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (22/1 -144%)Curated |
22/1(-144%) | (3) Curated 22/1, Was a no-show from off the pace when tried in a hood and well beaten in a maiden at Chelmsford latest. Blinkers are fitted for the first time, but she is a big, strong sort with only ordinary runs so far. Blinkers fitted for handicap debut and she could be a lot more competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (28/1 +30%)Lady Birgma |
28/1(+30%) | (4) Lady Birgma 28/1, Produced a poor effort, perhaps not staying, when well beaten in a handicap at Lingfield last time. Effective at 7f, but her form has deteriorated rapidly and she needs to arrest that decline. Lightly raced but was 8-1 for a recent Lingfield handicap and finished stone-cold last. |

CALABRIAN SOLDATO looks the one to be on. He improved significantly when pitched into a nursery for the first time at Chelmsford before Christmas and, on that evidence, it's just a matter of when rather than if he wins in this company. Oh So Perfect is a bit more experienced and performed well for third at Southwell recently. Curated is also noted.

It was an improved effort by OH SO PERFECT on her stable debut and expect another positive ride from her low draw.

(1) (10/11 +34%)Rajinoora |
10/11(+34%) | (1) Rajinoora 10/11, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Kempton last time. The trainer is in form and she is effective at 7f and 8f, with another good run likely. Won at 7f on turf; two staying-on seconds over 1m on Polytrack since; up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (3/1 +50%)Rose Cotton |
3/1(+50%) | (2) Rose Cotton 3/1, Was a no-show from off the pace when beaten 9 1/2l in a novice at Yarmouth last time. Returning from a break, she stays 10f and may yet improve when handicapping. Signs of ability in difficult turf races at 1m2f/1m; can improve in handicaps; AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/2 -177%)Pink Socks |
9/2(-177%) | (5) Pink Socks 9/2, Finished strongly when winning a classified race at Southwell by a neck last time, back up in trip. Effective from 7f to 10f, she has a good chance again up in trip back in a handicap. Won last 3 starts in classified events (1m/7f); stayed this far on turf in Ireland. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (13/2 +7%)Leeson Street |
13/2(+7%) | (6) Leeson Street 13/2, Would have been closer with a better run when beaten 3 1/2l off a 2lb higher mark at Kempton last time. Blinkers are applied for the first time and she can go well. Has course form; easy to back in handicaps for new yard; worth another go at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (50/1 -52%)Ghaiyyath Park |
50/1(-52%) | (3) Ghaiyyath Park 50/1, Again ran below form when well beaten in a handicap at Kempton latest. Effective from 9f to 11f, she was consistent in Germany, but her form has been in and out for the new yard. Solid 1m2f form when close 2nd at Lingfield last month; well held on yard debut since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (100/1 -100%)Abila |
100/1(-100%) | (4) Abila 100/1, Again ran to a poor level when finishing down the field in a handicap at Southwell most recently. She returns from a short break and is dropping in trip, but has not shown much so far. Modest form so far, including on handicap debut at Southwell (1m3f; 80-1). |

Pink Socks has to be respected following a hat-trick of classified wins in recent weeks. That said, this switch to handicap company demands more from her and marginal preference is for LEESON STREET. George Boughey's filly has not been disgraced the last twice over trips shorter than this and a step up in distance may bring about some improvement. Rajinoora completes the shortlist.

Rajinoora remains one to be interested in but perhaps PINK SOCKS can extend her winning run now back in a handicap.

(1) (9/4 -29%)Son Of Astar |
9/4(-29%) | (1) Son Of Astar 9/4, Did his best work late after a slow start when beaten 1/2l off this mark at Lingfield last time. Trained by a top course handler and effective at 5f, he arrives in good form generally. Three 5f turf wins in 2025; lightly raced on AW but in good form; every chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/4 -22%)Rogue De Vega |
11/4(-22%) | (5) Rogue De Vega 11/4, Ran to form when scoring with a bit in hand, landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark here last time. Suited by 5f and holds a good chance of completing a hat-trick. Has won both starts this year, taking C&D record to 3-6; back up 3lb; can go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (4/1 +33%)Alafdhal |
4/1(+33%) | (2) Alafdhal 4/1, Did too much early when fifth, beaten 3 1/4l off 61 last time, and runs here from 1lb lower. Has a top course jockey, is effective at 5f and 6f, but the handicapper may have caught up. Three 5f wins at the end of 2025; not so good on last two starts but too soon to write off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (6/1 +50%)Thank The Lord |
6/1(+50%) | (3) Thank The Lord 6/1, Did not get home when back up in trip, beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Had been in good form prior, is effective at 5f and 6f, and now needs to bounce back. Involved in tight finishes here (6f) and at Newcastle (5f) of late; lesser run latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (8/1 +27%)Some Nightmare |
8/1(+27%) | (7) Some Nightmare 8/1, Ran to form when beaten 3 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark here last time. Effective at 5f and 6f, he is a Chepstow specialist but remains an inconsistent performer. Sole AW win back in 2021 but closely matched with Alafdhal on C&D running in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (12/1 0%)Phil's Dream |
12/1(0%) | (8) Phil's Dream 12/1, Badly left the stalls and was always detached when beaten 9l in a handicap at Dundalk last time. Effective at 5f and 6f and best on all-weather, but his form has tailed off and enthusiasm is a concern. Good Polytrack form in early 2024 but well below best either side of an absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (14/1 -65%)Spendmore Lane |
14/1(-65%) | (4) Spendmore Lane 14/1, Again below form when beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark here last time. Has a wide draw, is effective at 5f and 6f, and might want a return to 6f. 0-10 but acts on Tapeta; limited impact from this draw over C&D latest; eyeshield on today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (50/1 +0%)Nordic Games |
50/1(+0%) | (6) Nordic Games 50/1, Was too keen and well below form when well beaten in a handicap at Newcastle latest. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time, he returns from a short break, but arrives out of sorts. Sole win on Southwell AW (5f); in moderate form these days; switch of aids. |

Rogue De Vega has to be respected now bidding for a hat-trick but a 3lb rise for the latest of those victories may just give the edge to SON OF ASTAR. Tony Carroll's gelding was only beaten by half a length off this mark at Lingfield last week and a repeat would give him a big chance. Some Nightmare was third over 6f here last time and may benefit from this drop in trip.

Son Of Astar is much respected but ROGUE DE VEGA has been in great form and may be able to bring up a C&D hat-trick.

(3) (2/1 +33%)Amerjeet |
2/1(+33%) | (3) Amerjeet 2/1, Up in trip but a no-show from off the pace when beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap here last time. Had been in good form prior, has a top course jockey, is usually held up and is effective at 5f and 6f, but a bounce back is needed. Three good runs for his new yard and latest no-show was in a higher grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/2 -5%)Street Life |
7/2(-5%) | (1) Street Life 7/2, Ran to form when third, beaten 1l off a mark of 60 last time and runs from the same mark here. Suited by 5f and has been in good form since returning to all-weather racing. Has the same penalty as when beaten a length into third here four days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (4/1 +20%)Shalaa Asker |
4/1(+20%) | (5) Shalaa Asker 4/1, Got no run and looked unlucky when third, beaten 3l off a mark of 56 last time, and competes from the same mark here. Effective over 5f to 7f and may gain compensation with better fortune. Third to Street Life at Southwell a week ago (5f) but didn't get the best of runs through. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/2 +50%)Buraback |
9/2(+50%) | (4) Buraback 9/2, Was a bit keen and did not get home when fourth, beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Chelmsford latest. Best at 5f but effective at 6f, and while his mark looks fair, he needs to find more. No closer than 4.5l over 6f in his last two races and has won at that trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/1 -64%)Forest Gunner |
9/1(-64%) | (6) Forest Gunner 9/1, Recorded his best form in 12 months when winning a classified race at Lingfield by 2l last time. Effective at 5f on the all-weather, but he needs more now that he returns to handicap company. Recent classified winner; perhaps vulnerable off this mark but he's at least in form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (14/1 -87%)Mini Magna |
14/1(-87%) | (2) Mini Magna 14/1, Below form when beaten 10l in a handicap at Southwell last time and is drawn wide. Effective over 5f and 6f but there has been no sign of cashing in on a falling mark. Down to a career-low mark and wasn't beaten far at Newcastle three runs back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (18/1 -125%)Sir Benedict |
18/1(-125%) | (7) Sir Benedict 18/1, Was a no-show from off the pace when beaten 3 1/2l off a 1lb higher mark here last time. Best at 5f, he is a veteran who needs a pace collapse to play to his strengths. Reliable last year but beat only one home over C&D 11 days ago and was never travelling. |

STREET LIFE was only beaten a length into third when trying to follow up on his Southwell win over C&D on Friday. A reproduction of either of those efforts would give the veteran a big chance here. Shalaa Asker has been running well of late, including a Chelmsford win two starts ago, and he edges out Forest Gunner and Sir Benedict to be best of the rest.

Billy Loughnane was aboard AMERJEET when twice close up over C&D last month and last week's lesser show was in a higher grade.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
