Dysart Enos

1/9(+62%)
(9) Dysart Enos 1/9, Unbeaten in 3 bumper outings, including Grade 2 in decisive fashion at Aintree in April. Built on a facile hurdling debut success at Huntingdon with a ready victory at Cheltenham last month and she's impossible to oppose trying to take her career record to 6 from 6.
Talented mare who is 5-5 under rules and should extend her winning sequence.
2
2nd (1) Justus (9/1 -38%)
Justus

9/1(-38%)
(1) Justus 9/1, Fairly useful on Flat for Ian Williams (stays 16.5f) and produced a much improved performance at the second time of asking over hurdles when winning 4-runner novice hurdle at Catterick (15.7f, heavy) 27 days ago. Rates as the biggest threat to Dysart Enos.
Won at Catterick on New Year's Day; good ground not ideal; otherwise has place claims.
3
3rd (4) Graze On Phoenix (33/1 -65%)
Graze On Phoenix

33/1(-65%)
(4) Graze On Phoenix 33/1, Related to two winners and hit the line with running left when fourth in a Market Rasen bumper on debut in March. Not seen to best effect at Bangor the following month and though he got no further than first on hurdles bow, he still should have a future in this sphere.
Unseated rider early at Sedgefield on hurdles debut; bred to do better still.
4
4th (5) Jet Patrol (16/1 -14%)
Jet Patrol

16/1(-14%)
(5) Jet Patrol 16/1, Placed twice from 5 starts in Irish points and offered something to work on when third of 8 in novice hurdle at Musselburgh (19.8f, soft) on NH debut 41 days ago. Frame claims again.
0-5 in Irish points; finished third at Musselburgh for new yard; place possibilities.

Geordie Night

33/1(+0%)
(3) Geordie Night 33/1, Got closer than previously when a never-nearer fourth of 8 in novice hurdle at Market Rasen (16.6f, good to soft) 33 days ago. Likely to be of more interest in handicaps.
Has frame possibilities if latest effort is backed up.

Garitsa Bay

150/1(-88%)
(2) Garitsa Bay 150/1, Walk In The Park gelding merely hinted at ability in a Market Rasen bumper and went with little promise on hurdles bow here (19.4f, soft) 30 days ago. Hard to fancy.
Needs plenty of improvement on his two efforts.
7th

Miss Applejack

40/1(-21%)
(10) Miss Applejack 40/1, Bumper winner but in the process of running to only a modest level when slipped and unseated last on Catterick hurdle debut 4 weeks ago. Still early days in this sphere.
Beaten when unseating rider at Catterick on the switch to hurdles.
8th
8th (6) Konfusion (20/1 -25%)
Konfusion

20/1(-25%)
(6) Konfusion 20/1, Notably strong in the betting but perhaps unsurprisingly shaped as if in need of the run after an 18-month absence when ninth of 14 in novice hurdle at Newcastle (16.9f, heavy) 22 days ago. Had shaped like a stayer previously and should be of greater intrerest further down the line.
Looks open to improvement back on forecast faster surface.

|PU| (7) Moves Like Monty (40/1 -122%)
Moves Like Monty

40/1(-122%)
(7) Moves Like Monty 40/1, Irish point winner shaped as if amiss on Rules debut at Musselburgh (23.8f, soft) 23 days ago, folding tamely before the straight. Had previously had a wind-op, so he's already beginning to look like one with problems. Hood goes on.
May settle better and improve over this shorter trip with hood applied.
LTO Selection:

12:20 Doncaster Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

DYSART ENOS made it two from two over hurdles when securing victory by just under three lengths at Cheltenham last month and she has now been handed a rating of 131. Fergal O'Brien's mare is a Grade 2 bumper winner and looks difficult to oppose. Justus got off the mark at the second time of asking at Catterick and could have more to offer, so he looks the chief threat. Of the remainder, Jet Patrol makes the most appeal if he can improve on his third at Musselburgh.

DYSART ENOS has made a smooth transition from leading bumper performer to useful novice hurdler and Fergal O'Brien's mare is impossible to oppose in her bid to maintain her unbeaten Rules record. Justus wasn't far from his fairly useful Flat form when scoring at Catterick last time and he looks best placed to take advantage if the favourite underperforms, Miss Applejack was running below her bumper form when slipping up on hurdles bow but still makes appeal to complete the placings.

This is all about leading Dawn Run hope DYSART ENOS, who is well clear on the figures. Konfusion is second choice.

Needs to build on latest run and to jump more fluently but it was a promising effort.

7th (5) Blue Hop (11/1 +21%)
Blue Hop

11/1(+21%)
(5) Blue Hop 11/1, Bumper/maiden hurdle winner but has evidently had his problems and offered little on chasing debut/return at Cheltenham last month.
Easily the last exposed, including on handicap debut, but he also has the most to prove.

Cerendipity

11/2(+0%)
(1) Cerendipity 11/2, Fairly useful winner over hurdles and built on an encouraging start in this sphere when getting off the mark at Wetherby in November. Backed it up with a solid third over C&D, though was badly let down by jumping at Haydock since.
Kicked off this season with three good runs over fences before a poor show on heavy latest.
LTO Selection:

12:50 Doncaster Handicap Chase (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MACLAINE produced a very pleasing effort to fill the runner-up berth over an extended 2m4f here last month and the handicapper may have been kind to leave his mark alone for that effort. The seven-year-old is making only his third chase start and could be the one to beat. Storminhome was beaten into fourth in a class 3 event over 3m here last time and is an interesting contender stepping down in distance off a 2lb lower mark in first-time cheekpieces. Okavango Delta is another to note after his second at Catterick.

STORMINHOME can get back on the up with his sights lowered following a break. Maclaine and Okavango Delta both fared a lot better second-time up over fences so are feared most.

In an open race, slight preference is for FANCY STUFF ahead of Maclaine.

128-rated hurdler, has run in two strong beginners' chases, hard to assess.
LTO Selection:

13:00 Naas Handicap Chase 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SLIP OF THE TONGUE was beaten long distances when last seen in April but remains a dark horse who should eventually outgrow his rating. Placed third to Teahupoo and Quilixios in a 2021 Grade 2 hurdle, he looked a work in progress last season, is suited by conditions and his rider claims 5lb. He wasn't beaten far in a 2022 Listed course hurdle by today's rival Highland Charge but is 7lb better off. Highland Charge debuts in handicap chases and while rated 8lb higher over hurdles, would ideally prefer a sounder surface. Gracchus De Balme's Listowel form was boosted by Uncle Phil winning the recent Dan Moore but he steps up in distance and hasn't run since September. In-form Kings Halo steps up markedly in grade while Spirit Of Legend contested a hot race last month and drops to handicap company racing from a fair rating. Coqolino was pulled up in testing conditions at Limerick during Christmas but had previously run well at Punchestown, although seems exposed. Cayd Boy is winless from nine chases and was well beaten recently.

KINGS HALO arrives at the top of his game so is fancied to quickly resume winning ways off a still handy-looking mark. Joseph O'Brien's Gracchus de Balme still has better days ahead of him though in this sphere so rates a big threat, with Spirit of Legend appealing as the pick of the rest for minor honours.

Getting a minimum of 20lb from his opponents here KINGS HALO is worth a bet based on recent consistency

LTO Selection:

13:12 Fontwell Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WALKS LIKE THE MAN must shoulder a penalty having won at Plumpton three weeks ago, but this does not look the strongest of contests and he is fancied to double his tally. Saladins Son struggled in a warm class 2 in November, but he could fare better eased in grade, while hurdling debutant Seaside Legend appeals most of the remainder.

WALKS LIKE THE MAN has to concede weight all round but displayed a willing attitude when opening his account at Plumpton and can make light of his 6 lb penalty. Saladins Son has the form to play a part and can chase home Anthony Charlton's 6-y-o, ahead of the lightly-raced Crypto Currency.

The pick is WALKS LIKE THE MAN, who kept on strongly to pip a short-priced favourite at Plumpton this month and can improve again.

LTO Selection:

13:25 Doncaster Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SOME SCOPE struck by just under a length in a class 3 event over 3m1f at Catterick in November and he was given a 5lb rise for that victory. The son of Telescope could have plenty more improvement in him on only his third chase outing, so it would be no surprise to see him make it a double. Last-time-out winner Gold Link goes off only a 2lb higher rating and is likely to enter calculations, while No Regrets is another to watch out for after his runner-up effort at Kelso.

SOME SCOPE showed improved form with his chasing debut experience behind him when scoring with a bit in hand at Catterick in November and he looks capable of following up. In-form pair No Regrets and Gold Link head the dangers.

The vote goes to SAM BARTON who looks interesting back down in grade. Unexposed Some Scope is feared most.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

NDAAWI was highly tried on the Flat when trained in England and has run consistently well in two hurdles. Rated 96 last year, he ran well at Leopardstown over Christmas (Evening's Empire finished ninth) and chased home a pair of previous winners at Fairyhouse recently. He seems to cope fine with testing conditions. Katakana won two French bumpers and finished second in another last year and while closely matched on her initial two runs with Irish maiden hurdle winner Kaleoson, won more easily on her third start. She is a keen-goer who retains a hood, although her tongue-tie is left off today. Dutch Gold's Flat form is closely matched with Mr Lincoln, while Charming Star was also capable, if quirky, on the Flat and is best watched.

NDAAWI improved on his hurdling debut form when third at Fairyhouse 2 weeks ago and his useful Flat efforts give hope for better still. Dutch Gold was also useful on the level so is an interesting hurdling debutant, as is French-bumper winner Katakana starting out for Henry de Bromhead.

Henry de Bromhead has an interesting recruit in Triumph Hurdle entry KATAKANA, winner of two of three starts in AQPS events in France

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A difficult contest to unpick with many needing to improve on what they've shown so far, so only a tentative vote can go to ROLLO'S KINGDOM. Tailed off over an extended 3m on heavy ground at Wincanton last month, he might fare better back on a sounder surface and with first-time cheekpieces applied. Kruger Park and Miss Fedora complete the shortlist.

The vote goes to the Paul Nicholls handicap newcomer KRUGER PARK, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Pride of Paris is another unexposed one who might fare better in handicaps and is a possible threat. Miss Fedora has a good record here and should also be thereabouts.

It's hard to build a robust case for any of these but ROLLO'S KINGDOM may benefit from this drop back in trip and gets the vote.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Montecam showed some improvement with a good second-placed finish to a more fancied stablemate over this course and distance last time out and rates a big player. However, CHAMPAGNE TWIST is equally progressive and, with his hurdles form looking slightly stronger at this early stage, Ben Pauling's gelding just edges the vote, with trip and ground conditions sure to suit. Taras Halls has also shown ability and is another to bear in mind.

The standard achieved by CHAMPAGNE TWIST when second at Cheltenham last time was good enough to win the majority of novices so, if he can repeat that, he should have the measure of Montecam, who also improved last time. Minella Rescue is an intriguing hurdling newcomer.

This looks the right opportunity for CHAMPAGNE TWIST to get off the mark under rules, following his Cheltenham second.

ZARAK THE BRAVE was worryingly pulled up at halfway last October but encouragingly reappears following a small break and, on his day, the Galway Hurdle winner is a clear pick and is suited by conditions. Reported 'clinically abnormal' post-race at Tipperary, such summaries are cryptic by nature while today's race is run in honour of 32-years-young Limestone Lad, who was 'knocked' for a heart murmur as a youngster. Banntown Girl is a dependable handicapper who finished 7.25 lengths behind Jetara in a Listed hurdle in December, although should find an on-song selection too strong. 2021 Cheltenham festival winner Telmesomethinggirl reverted to hurdles for her recent reappearance but finished 11.5 lengths behind Jetara, when receiving 3lb, although can progress. Golden Joy, an Auteuil debut winner last April, was well held at Grade 3 level last month and needs to show more. Doyen Ta Win faces a tough task.

ZARAK THE BRAVE simply can't have been right last time. He's been given time to recover and if back to anywhere near the level he showed when winning the Galway Plate he'll surely provide Willie Mullins with a sixth win in this since 2016. Banntown Girl is perhaps the most likely to profit should the selection fail to deliver.

The defeat of ZARAK THE BRAVE at Tipperary was a huge shock, but he was found to be clinically abnormal. He should make amends now

SHUIL CEOIL took a marked step forward when scoring at Exeter last month and Neil Mulholland's charge might have what it takes to defy a subsequent 3lb rise. Handicap debutant Jemura merits respect for the Nicky Henderson team, along with Naturally High, who hit the frame at Huntingdon 16 days ago on the back of a win at this venue on Boxing Day.

SHUIL CEOIL got off the mark in determined fashion at Exexter last month and Neil Mulholland's gelding is fancied to follow up, the booking of Harry Cobden an added benefit. Jemura is an obvious danger making the quick switch to handicaps after 2 promising qualifying runs, whilst Naturally High arrives in decent heart and can complete the placings.

The one with most potential is handicap debutant JEMURA (nap), who shaped with significant promise when third in a novice last month.

WEST BALBOA ran no sort of race in the Long Walk at Ascot just before Christmas but otherwise boasts a near exemplary record under Rules, so looks worth forgiving that below-par display. A line of form through Brewin'upastorm gives the Dan Skelton-trained mare a live chance of coping with the challenge presented by Marie's Rock, who rates a big player despite conceding 2lb to the selection. Coquelicot is the pick of the rest, with her stamina more proven than You Wear It Well at this stage.

Dual Grade 1 winner MARIE'S ROCK was unsuited by the way the race developed when runner-up to Bob Olinger in the Relkeel at Cheltenham last time, so she is taken to bounce back to winning ways returned to mares' company. You Wear It Well wasn't discredited in the Fighting Fifth last time and is feared most upped in trip, ahead of West Balboa.

LETSBECLEARABOUTIT concedes 6lb but has smart recent form and is dependable. Twice placed fourth at Grade 1 level over hurdler, he finished third in the Drinmore Chase last month and might improve stepping up to this distance for the first time over fences. Embassy Gardens was impressive in winning on chase debut last month and while a fancy for the Cheltenham festival, today's race is stronger than at Punchestown. He could be high-class but nonetheless his top-level hurdling form was disappointing and has, in the past, raced too keenly. Meetingofthewaters is suited by conditions and while he is progressive, steps up in grade having won the Paddy Power Chase rated 130. Desertmore House was 32 lengths behind in the Paddy Power and while 15lb better off, would prefer better ground. Sandor Clegane's chase career has yet to ignite but is fitted with a tongue-tie, stays well and likes testing ground. Cool Survivor was beaten 23 lengths by Embassy Gardens last month.

Willie Mullins last took this Grade 3 novice with his high-class staying chaser Stattler and looks to have another bright prospect on his hands in the shape of EMBASSY GARDENS who really impressed when going in at the first time of asking over fences at Punchestown and can collect this before going onto better things. Stablemate Meetingofthewaters has more experience on his side and can also have a say, with Letsbeclearaboutit and Sandor Clegane the pick of the remainder.

The all-round concession of 6lb will not make this way but the trip may help to bring out the best in LETSBECLEARABOUTIT

LTO Selection:

14:55 Fontwell Handicap Chase (Class 5) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CAPTAIN CLAUDE is seeking the hat-trick after beating the only other finisher by 11 lengths over 3m2f here on Boxing Day, and he now has a 7lb higher rating to contend with. The son of Solider Of Fortune is a C&D winner and is likely to prove very hard to beat. Mister Murchan produced a much better effort when dropped in distance at Lingfield last time and should go well, while Sir Rock is another to consider after his triumph at Plumpton.

CAPTAIN CLAUDE has taken very well to fences and is fancied to complete the hat-trick despite the drop back in trip possibly not being ideal. Sir Rock showed a better attitude than has often been the case when making a winning chase bow at Plumpton so looks the obvious threat, with Mister Murchan best of the others,

Captain Claude is respected but preference is for SIR ROCK, who can progress from his Plumpton win if his jumping improves here.

LTO Selection:

15:05 Doncaster Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

3m point winner HASHTAG BOUM has been performing with credit in defeat in handicap hurdles of late. This first appearance over an extended 3m under Rules may unlock enough improvement for the Al Namix mare to regain the winning thread, with handicap debutant Pyffo feared most. The Jonjo O'Neill-trained gelding races off a workable mark judged on his runner-up effort at Ludlow in October and this stiffer test of stamina should suit. Jaytee and Paricolor also make some appeal.

Lots with chances. PYFFO couldn't build on his hurdling debut promise when fourth in the mud at Ffos Las but this useful bumper scorer is well worth siding with to bounce back in style now he goes into handicaps under much less testing conditions. Hashtag Boum is feared most on the back of his good recent second here, with in-form duo Paricolor and Jaytee also firmly in the picture.

With so many doubts hanging over this field, it may be best to chance the stamina of HASHTAG BOUM.

LTO Selection:

15:15 Naas Maiden Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ICARE DESBOIS beat better-fancied stablemate Lecky Watson in a Fairyhouse bumper and was absent for 19 months before disappointing when switched to hurdles here in November. He was coughing post-race and is much better judged on a subsequent third to King Of Kingsfield in a hot maiden hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas. The runner-up, Mirazur West, won easily at Fairyhouse on Wednesday. Butcher Hollow and Cleatus Poolaw have filled second spot behind useful sorts on both hurdle starts and rate obvious threats, while Nas Na Riogh also bids to go one better after beating all bar the selection's stable companion Dancing City over 2m4f at Navan.

ICARE DESBOIS took a marked step forward when third in a strong contest at Leopardstown a month ago and his bumper form gives him the scope for better still, so he's preferred to Nas Na Riogh, who is going the right way. Butcher Hollow is also of interest.

Bumper winner ICARE DESBOIS was close to his best when third in a Leopardstown maiden hurdle last time and should be good enough

LTO Selection:

15:25 Fontwell Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BOWENSPARK was sent off favourite when falling at the last in a Grade 2 event at Haydock, but he was unlikely to have won as he was weakening at the time. Henry Daly's gelding now drops back into calmer waters and can defy his 7lb penalty. Johnny Blue was 10 lengths clear of the third when runner-up on his debut over hurdles at Hereford and, with normal progression, he could get into contention. Of the remainder, Yalla Habibi appeals most.

JOHNNY BLUE made a promising start over hurdles when giving best only late on to a useful rival at Hereford in November, so he can build on that effort to go one better. He is taken to see off the challenge of Bowenspark, who can make his presence felt back down in grade, while Rue St Denis could take a step forward on his hurdles bow.

Henry Daly's BOWENSPARK looked smart when winning at Stratford in the autumn and his subsequent Grade 2 defeat is not viewed harshly.

15:35 Doncaster Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Little Pi warrants respect in his quest to land a hat-trick as a 7lb rise in the ratings for his ready success at Wincanton recently shouldn't prevent another bold bid. However, there is a sneaking suspicion that useful Flat performer PERCY WILLIS can land a race in this sphere now encountering some better ground. The six-year-old shaped better than the beaten distance suggests when fifth at Musselburgh earlier in the month and a 3lb drop in the ratings can only help. Last-time-out winner Noble Savage must enter calculations too.

STAR TURN looks an interesting one for handicaps and can bring to an end the winning run of Little Pi. Daaris and Notimeforanother are possible improvers now handicapping for the first time in this sphere and complete the shortlist.

Off a very workable opening mark judged on his Flat form, NOTIMEFORANOTHER may be the answer. Second choice is Star Turn.

American Money had PRIDE OF PLACE less than two lengths back in third when gaining a second career win over a similar trip here earlier this month. The Michael Hourigan-trained gelding wasn't helped by a mistake at the last and, on 6lb better terms, is fancied to reverse the places. The form of that race has been working out well since and the selection has scope for further improvement. Heliko Conti enters calculation on his second to Music Of Tara in a 21-runner 2m4f Leopardstown handicap last month and Conor Stone-Walsh claims a valuable 5lb. Big Debates reverts to hurdles on a competitive mark while Millstream Lady has won twice this season and again went close at Limerick last time.

PRIDE OF PLACE is taken to build on the promise of his recent course third and strike at the third time of asking in handicaps. Heliko Conti has recorded 2 cracking runner-up efforts since joining Paul Nolan and is second choice ahead of American Money, who had the selection behind him when winning here 16 days ago.

The selection is PRIDE OF PLACE(nap), who would have gone very close but for a bad error at the last here last time and should improve

15:55 Fontwell Handicap Chase (Class 4) 28f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SOUTHERN SAM dug deep to open his account over fences at Haydock last month. A 3lb rise looks more than fair for the veteran and he looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to complete a brace. Gold Clermont didn't fire as expected when only eighth in the Sussex National at Plumpton earlier in the month, but she cannot be dismissed on this return to class 4 company. Whydah Gally also makes some appeal now returned to chasing.

SOUTHERN SAM displayed a plucky attitude when scoring at Haydock last month and can make light of a 3 lb rise in the weights in a handicap where most arrive with a question mark against them. Course winner Blame The Game is sliding down the weights and next on the list ahead of Gold Clermont who needs to shrug off a lesser showing at Plumpton.

Southern Sam looks the most reliable but the step up in trip is an appealing move for JERRASH.

16:10 Doncaster NH Flat Race (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Gwash arguably sets the standard having finished runner-up on his bumper debut at Catterick in November and the five-year-old should put that experience to good use. However, there are some intriguing point recruits on show, with WESTERN HARMONY topping the bill. Nicky Henderson's winning pointer didn't look short of speed between the flags last year and he edges the vote over Disco Davis, who boasts a similar profile.

GWASH is the percentage call on the back of his bumper debut second at Catterick but a strong market move for Rules newcomers Western Harmony, Disco Davis and/or Les's Destiny Star would put a slightly different slant on things.

The suggestion is STAVVY, who should improve on his C&D debut effort. Gwash is second choice.

16:20 Naas NH Flat Race 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

JASMIN DE VAUX won a Loughanmore point-to-point in fine style last spring for Stuart Crawford and the half-brother to two winners has since joined the champion trainer, while Big Stage is another to consider from a top yard after also winning his only start between the flags. The son of Walk In The Park was purchased for 120,000 pounds soon after making all to win at Tinahely in November and the market will provide significant clues as to their relative merits. Master Otis has shown promise both in bumpers and over hurdles while point-to-point winner Glendaars Fortune made a bright start under Rules when third to Lady Bluebird over this trip at Punchestown. Remember'hesmine had Freemans Bay behind when runner-up at Limerick last month.

Point winners JASMIIN DE VAUX and Big Stage have both joined powerful stables and can be expected to dominate this, with marginal preference for the former. Rember'hesmine is the pick of those with bumper form.

Point winner JASMIN DE VAUX could be an exciting prospect after winning easily at Loughanmore in the spring

LTO Selection:

16:30 Fontwell NH Flat Race (Class 5) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BOND BROKER offered plenty of encouragement on his third-placed Rules debut at Exeter in November and natural improvement could make the five-year-old tough to beat. Newcomer Lumi Plugin won't be lacking for stamina in this sphere and the Kayf Tara gelding is taken to go well. Any market support for Gary Moore's gelding would be noteworthy, with similar sentiments applying to Silver Thorn.

Having won his only start between the flags, BOND BROKER made a solid start under Rules at Exeter two months ago, so he's the obvious answer to what could be an above-average bumper. Lumi Plugin and Silver Thorn are two of several notable newcomers.

Point winner BOND BROKER travelled like a good horse when third at Exeter in November and appeals most.
