CRECORA HILLS won a Naas handicap hurdle and opened her account over fences at the same track when readily taking a 2m4f handicap in November. She was subsequently placed here off her revised mark and may have been found a decent opportunity to add to her tally. Nine Graces has won over hurdles and fences at this venue, including an impressive success over a similar trip early last year. She indicated a return to form here last month and may pose more of a threat than Sophia Rose, who steps up in trip after a creditable fourth at the Limerick Christmas meeting. Gaoth Chuil is another to consider.

Last seen running on over 2m1f at Limerick, SOPHIA ROSE(nap) could now get off the mark over fences raised in trip.

WOLF RAYET proved his 40/1 Chepstow second was no fluke when running well for fourth in a good contest at Cheltenham. He holds a Triumph Hurdle entry and although that seems fanciful at this stage, victory here would mean he wouldn't look out of place in something like the Fred Winter. King Al chased home a classy juvenile at Kempton and is feared most, and Down To Business has also shown enough to warrant an interest. Gallivanted is rated 79 on the level and has joined Harry Derham after changing hands for 70,000gns.

A few have chances in a decent juvenile hurdle but WOLF RAYET's fourth at Cheltenham is well worth an upgrade.

TOO HOT TO TANGO has already been placed three times and staying in novice company can help Hughie Morrison's consistent filly get off the mark. Nuptown Girl is respected after a close second on her debut for Ian Williams in a similar race at Southwell. A repeat of that should see her in the mix. Bronte Beach, who was picked up cheaply by Archie Watson from Godolphin, can also figure with a step forward from her sole start for the Gosdens last year.

The reasonably consistent TOO HOT TO TANGO is a particularly solid option among the main form contenders.

Point winner Follow Your Luck changed hands for 90,000 pounds last April and the booking of Brian Hughes is noteworthy. Division Day outran his odds to finish second at Doncaster and is respected, but it may pay to side with SWINGINGONTHESTEEL. Rebecca Menzies' gelding was sent off at long odds-on when disappointing in fourth over 2m1f here in November, but that is unlikely to be his true running and the dual bumper winner can make amends.

Brian Ellison's DIVISION DAY caught the eye when running on well to take second over 2m at Doncaster last month and gets the nod.

TOO BOSSY FOR US earned a rating in the 90s on the Flat and gained hurdling experience when far from disgraced in Grade 1 company last spring. The son of Golden Horn was placed in the valuable Petingo Handicap over 1m5f at Leopardstown in September and was also a creditable seventh on his jumping debut in the Triumph Hurdle. Speculateur won a point-to-point for Colin Bowe and filled the runner-up spot behind the selection's stablemate King Of Aces when switched to hurdles at Clonmel last month. Old Saxony has been absent since winning on the Flat for David Simcock in 2024, while Mino Des Mottes and Forceonmyown appear the pick of the remainder.

It's fascinating that Willie Mullins sends DIAMOND DU BERLAIS over for her debut for the stable. The five-year-old has held her own in good company in France, was snapped up for 160,000 euros last summer and she is likely to prove a warm order. Afancy Getaway has yet to live up to her impressive point-to-point form since going hurdling, but cannot be written off yet. No Flies On Her could collect minor money.

A rare runner in Shropshire for Willie Mullins, it will be very disappointing if DIAMOND DU BERLAIS isn't too classy for these.

HIGH ON HOPE, who supplemented a Chelmsford triumph with a cosy win over C&D, is a key player bidding to compete a hat-trick from bottom weight. He is back up in class and this isn't a straightforward task, but he is worth sticking with. The Lost King resumed from a break to score over 7f here and is a big threat if in the same mood, with Oisin Murphy reunited to judge the fractions back over a mile. Popmaster and Nikovo should also be thereabouts.

Huit Reflets hit the woodwork over track and trip on his most recent start and rarely runs a bad race, so he is one to take seriously. Similar comments apply to Begin The Luck after his third at Lingfield, but the vote goes to FORSA BAY. The six-year-old showed more when third in a first-time hood at Market Rasen and could have more to offer on just his third handicap outing, with Brian Hughes keeping the ride.

Topweight FORSA BAY made a promising start to his chasing career at Market Rasen in December and gets the nod ahead of Huit Reflets.

Gordon Elliott's AGAMEOFTWOHALVES could be the answer to this maiden hurdle. There was some promise in his sixths in big fields at Navan and Naas before a remote fourth behind an impressive winner at Fairyhouse. Testing ground holds no fears for him and he's related to a couple of horses who have winning form over this sort of distance. Loyal Praetorian will enjoy this trip and ground, and wasn't done with in second when he departed at the penultimate flight at Limerick over Christmas. A step up in distance is likely to suit Good Option, who can get in the mix. Harpy Eagle has plenty of placed form, although that has all been on better ground.

SHERMINATOR came to grief in the Cheltenham event won so easily by Supreme hotpot Old Park Star at Cheltenham, but showed a useful level of ability in winning at Newbury and Taunton last season. As they were Junior NH events, he escapes a penalty and can get his career back on track. Kiwi Rush was useful in bumpers and has contested some good races since going jumping. He is joined on the list of dangers by First Candidate, who is the pick of the Skelton pair.

COURT OF SESSION returned to winning ways in style at Wolverhampton last week and the manner of that success gave the impression that a 4lb penalty may not be enough to stop him from backing it up. The fact that Connor Planas takes 3lb off further enhances his credentials and he is tough to oppose. Portoro has been consistent in recent months and has to be respected following his second here over 6f. Others to note are Bullington Bry, who sports cheekpieces for the first time, and Sanditon.

Having looked a shade unlucky over 6f here last week, PORTORO (nap) could well gain compensation back up in trip.

VAMPIRE SLAYER showed significant improvement in a first-time visor score by half a length at Catterick and is now just 4lb higher. Provided the six-year-old is in similar form, he will prove a tough nut to crack. Linden Lane made the frame in this grade at Windsor on New Year's Day and needs to be considered along with Snapius, who competes off a workable rating.

With the drop in trip appearing a likely plus, the lightly raced mare PRIZED JET can get off the mark now reverting to hurdles.

LUMIERE DU LARGE could be worth chancing on handicap debut. She had useful form in France and was tried in Grade 1 company at Cheltenham and Punchestown on her first couple of starts for Willie Mullins. She was unplaced on both occasions and finished fourth in a maiden hurdle at Cork in December, but the suspicion is that there is more to come from her. The handicapper didn't miss Needs Must's victory in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse and he looks a big player, despite carrying top-weight. Take Stock and Mojoe are others capable of being in the mix.

Though NEEDS MUST won a modest enough maiden hurdle last time, he still looked like an improved sort and can step up again

Rodney fell when looking the likely winner on his chasing debut at Bangor, but bounced back from his next start at Warwick to score at Leicester and Hereford. The progressive seven-year-old commands plenty of respect, but a 10lb higher mark requires another step forward and the vote goes to TOOTHLESS. Paul Nicholls' gelding improved from his return at Wincanton to get his head back in front at Windsor and is capable of handling a 5lb rise. Charles Ritz and Regal Renaissance appear best of the remainder.

A few with chances but JOKER DE MAI ran better at Newbury and there's good reason to believe he can find something on that form.

Echalar got off the mark at Wolverhampton and he has to enter the reckoning off a 3lb higher figure, while Mythical Composer and Follow Your Heart head the remainder.

Having dominated the field at Plumpton recently, there should be more to come from SEA THRIFT. That was the seven-year-old's first completed start over fences and she looks more than capable of defying a 7lb penalty. Supreme George is chasing a four-timer and isn't taken lightly off just 4lb higher than his latest triumph at Catterick, but a bigger threat may emerge from Double Digits, who shaped encouragingly on his chase bow over further here on Boxing Day.

The 6yo SUPREME GEORGE is firmly on the up and could still be well handicapped. He's taken to complete the four-timer.

He was adrift of the winner in third, but prior to that he filled the runner-up berth behind useful sorts on testing ground at Navan and at this track. Frankie's Freebie is a former point-to-point winner who has been placed in both maiden hurdles to date, so merits plenty of respect. That Danny Feeling, who has two bumper victories in the book, is a consistent horse and is well worth a market check on this step up in trip, while Lord Tobin and Bergamasquo are potential improvers over this trip.

Masked Dance's C&D victory in December was boosted by the runner-up scoring at Chepstow last week and the eight-year-old has to enter calculations once again. That said, the vote goes to handicap debutant SALLYVILLE LADY. Dan Skelton's mare has shown promise on both hurdle outings and an opening mark of 111 appears to be workable. Hard Dealt chased home the same progressive winner at Uttoxeter and Aintree, and is respected along with Pismo Beach.

The suggestion is HARD DEALT, who ended last year with two good efforts and is not yet fully exposed.

It's easy to assume that FOLLOWING CHAPTER has more to offer after he overcame a bit of greenness to score decisively at Warwick's New Year's Eve fixture. That was the six-year-old's best performance so far and an 8lb rise appears to leave him with room for manoeuvre on just his third start in handicap company. Shuil Ceoil (second) and Moorland Rambler (third) plugged on to fill the frame behind a ready winner at Exeter last month. They might find the same fate awaits here.

Clearcut Warwick winner FOLLOWING CHAPTER (nap) could easily be progressive enough to deal with an 8lb rise.

Dr Ali accounted for Magna by a neck over track and trip last month and it would be no surprise to see him confirm that form, despite the revised terms. Man On A Mission lurks on a tempting mark and is noted, but CUBAN FIESTA gets the vote. The five-year-old produced an improved display to take the silver medal home over 7f at Lingfield and can cope with this drop in trip to go one better.

Man On A Mission is feared but this may be RESPECTABLE JACK's day. He can reverse recent C&D placings with Dr Ali and Magna.

Saxophonic has failed to land a blow in his three appearances so far, but could prove a different proposition as he takes a step up in trip on his handicap bow. Lope Harswell struck over 7f here in December and is one to watch, but the one who appeals most is ONYEISI. Runner-up in each of his last three outings, Charlie Johnston's three-year-old looks to have been found a good opportunity to go one better.

Having been banging at the door this year, ONYEISI can return to winning ways. Wicksey and Saxophonic are also of interest.

Getaway With You hasn't finished outside the top three in each of his last seven starts, most recently filling the runner-up spot at Fakenham, and is likely to be thereabouts. The booking of Brian Hughes on handicap debutant Peckforton Hills is interesting, but JUKEBOX JOKER might be the one. Evan Williams' charge went in by three lengths in this class at Warwick and can defy a 5lb rise to record a double.

This might go to JUKEBOX JOKER, who returned from a layoff with a recent Warwick win and still has scope for further progress.

After six wins in his last seven starts in hunter chases and point-to-points, BARTON SNOW is impossible to overlook. A slight concern is that he's only raced once since May, but he won by a distance at Sheriff Hutton last month and the signs were all positive. The consistent Jeffery's Cross is the pick of the rest based on his best form under Rules. This represents a big drop in class and he must be taken seriously. What A Glance completes the shortlist.

Jeffery's Cross is big danger back at this level and What A Glance isn't dismissed, but BARTON SNOW has momentum behind him.

TEARDROPS has improved 15lb since November, recording three C&D victories during that time, and finished a good second over track and trip on his latest outing. Competing off an unchanged mark, the four-year-old can continue on his upward curve. Laurens Dream sports first-time blinkers after finding one too good in a classified stakes at Southwell and won't have any issues dropping back a furlong in trip. Asadjumeirah looks best of the rest.

Plenty of possibles but TEARDROPS may not have finished improving and he can get the better of the class-dropping Captain Vallo.

Yaahobby likes it here too, although he is 1lb wrong at the weights and carries the associated risk. With all that considered, a chance is taken that the well-bred RAJSTAR leaves his past form behind to make a successful handicap debut over a trip that could prove ideal.

With an official rating of 83, HAYYNAH could be hard to beat if she runs anywhere near that mark. It's worth noting that she was pitched into a Listed event on her penultimate start and time may tell that she encountered an above-average rival when she was turned over by a promising debutant subsequently. This is a realistic resumption point and the daughter of Showcasing will enhance her paddock value if successful. Champonie and Noble Gentleman are interesting newcomers to keep an eye on.

Hayynah sets the standard but she was expensive to follow as a 2yo. The well-bred newcomer CHAMPONIE is suggested as an alternative.

Arnhem is a contender after a recent near-miss over C&D, although the still-enthusiastic 10-year-old went up 3lb and the burden of top weight does him no favours. The vote goes to MISSION COMMAND, whose last win (on turf) came off 5lb higher. Still unexposed on the all-weather, the Jennie Candlish-trained gelding is capable of getting his head in front again now back over the suitable minimum trip. King's Crown and Monks Dream complete the shortlist.

Most of these have something to recommend them but MISSION COMMAND (nap) may be the answer back at a stiff 5f. Castan is next best.

SINTRA boasts a high-class pedigree, with his grand dam being the outstanding Goldikova, and Andrew Balding's colt makes plenty of appeal as he attempts to make a winning start to his career. Pendella finished second on her first appearance at Southwell in December and she is likely to step forward from that display, while Sovereign Bay is another newcomer who commands plenty of respect.

Pendella is open to improvement over 1m but SINTRA looks a likely newcomer and makes his debut for a stable going along well.

The eight-year-old has Rhys Elliott's 3lb claim to aid his cause and that could help to make the difference as he bids to get back to winning ways. Concert Boy has been running with plenty of credit after scoring here in December. He enters the reckoning along with Sea Legend and Sherlock.

Pallas Lord and Concert Boy look set to go well again but TASEVER has conditions to suit and can come out on top.
