Dancing Terror made his way through the field to record a debut victory over track and trip on New Year's Eve and with any amount of improvement to come, he has to be considered. However, it may be a tough ask to give his 4lb penalty away to the 85-rated WINNEBAGO. Tom Clover's three-year-old has taken the silver medal home on both of his last two starts at Yarmouth and this step up in trip could bring out the improvement required to go one better. Any market confidence behind newcomer Express Train would be interesting.

WINNEBAGO was beaten only by a couple of useful sorts when twice runner-up at Yarmouth in the autumn and this looks an excellent opportunity. Andrew Balding's newcomer Express Train may emerge as the biggest threat with Dancing Terror winning just an ordinary C&D novice on New Year's Eve.

Tom Clover's WINNEBAGO should have a good chance if his turf form is transferred and a stablemate pulled off a similar feat this week.

MICK'S SPIRIT produced a 25/1 surprise when successful by a short head over C&D last month and is only 2lb higher for that triumph. With Daniel Muscutt booked and a plum draw in stall 1, it would be no surprise to see him lead from pillar to post again. Rosenpur is in fine form, making it two wins out of his last three outings at Wolverhampton last time, and should remain competitive, while Harb is another to note.

POP DANCER wasn't seen to best effect when fourth behind Rosenpur at Wolverhampton 2 weeks ago so is worth another chance off a tempting mark. Rosenpur is an obvious threat again with Coolagh Magic another to consider.

While none of them are that easy to dismiss from e-w claims, the most likely winners may well be MICK'S SPIRIT and Coolagh Magic.

Diamondonthehill has made the frame in this grade on both of his last two outings, most recently at Southwell, and has to be respected off a workable mark. However, the vote goes to CAVALRY CALL, who finished a fair fourth at Southwell on his most recent start and was kindly dropped 1lb for that effort. The four-year-old sports first-time cheekpieces, which could eke out the improvement required to regain the winning thread. Last-time-out course scorer (7f) Rey De La Batalla completes the shortlist.

The extended 1m at Wolverhampton seemed to just stretch INVINCIBLE AURA last time and he can resume winning ways. Thapa Vc, Diamondonthehill and Bravo Zulu head the dangers in a competitive handicap.

Invincible Aura and Al Waqidi are shortlisted but REY DE LA BATALLA has improved this winter and may back up his recent 7f win.

STRESSFREE was a beaten favourite when third on his hurdling debut last month but the useful Flat performer showed enough to suggest that he can be successful in a race of this nature. Chichester has a similar profile to the selection and should not be underestimated, while Natzor won over 1m2f on the level in October and any market support for him would have to be noted.

This looks a good opportunity for STRESSFREE to build on a promising first effort over hurdles at Catterick on New Year's Day. Supreme George might be the one to follow him home unless the betting speaks in the favour of hurdle newcomer Natzor, a former stablemate of the selection.

Useful Flat performer STRESSFREE was an encouraging third at Catterick on his hurdle debut and can get off the mark in this code.

WATERFORD WHISPERS was well beaten in a Christmas Grade 1 on his latest start but is capable on his day and finished runner-up in Cheltenham's Martin Pipe Hurdle last March. The selection ran well on his chase debut in December, he was eased when beaten at Limerick last time and is capable of much better. Springt De La Mare has a hurdles rating of only 118 and while a winner on chase debut last month, it is a concern that a first-time tongue-tie is applied. Release The Beast has winning chase form but might find the selection too strong. Rath Gaul Boy was hampered when last seen here and now debuts over fences against more experienced rivals.

RELEASE THE BEAST confirmed chase debut promise when opening his account in a 7-runner maiden at Limerick (17.7f) 52 days ago and he's fancied to make another bold bid in this stronger affair, with further progress in the offing. Springt de La Mare is another open to improvement and feared on the back of his chase debut success. Waterford Whispers is another on the shortlist returned to calmer waters.

The vote goes to RELEASE THE BEAST, third behind Ballyburn at this venue when before winning well when dropped in trip at Limerick

FRANKIES DREAM has made good progress lately and having already seen off a few of these in past encounters, has an obvious chance of registering a fourth success since the turn of the year. Admittedly, the son of Belardo is creeping up the handicap and, armed with a 14lb pull at the weights from the last time they met, Flicka's Girl rates a big danger on the revised terms. Virtue Temperance can also figure after a near-miss on her all-weather debut at Chelmsford when last seen in October.

The thriving FRANKIES DREAM improved again in defeat at Southwell last week and may be able to land a fourth win of 2025. Rossa Ryan's mount Monomyth is second choice ahead of Early Release and Commendation, a new recruit for Michael Keady.

The cards won't always fall right for FRANKIES DREAM (nap) but they have in three of his last six starts and he's on the up.

VANILLA DANCER arrives here on the back of two seconds in recent months and this appears to be an ideal opportunity for the six-year-old to go one better. Irisante has also made the frame on her last couple of starts and is an obvious threat to the selection, while Jasmine D'airy edges out Lizzie Luna to be best of the rest.

This could go the way of Lucinda Russell's point winner HAY MEADOW who shaped well on her debut in this sphere when fourth at Hexham and could take a sizeable step forward now her stamina is unlocked. Vanilla Dancer is much more exposed but arrives at the top of her game and rates a big threat, while Jasmine d'Airy and Lizzie Luna also have the form to play a part.

Bumper winner JASMINE D'AIRY was a fair fifth in a good mares' novice at Warwick last time and can post her first win over hurdles.

HIGH CLASS HERO performed to a high level over hurdles and ran well on his chase debut here in December. Generally consistent, he was too keen when pulling up at Cheltenham in March but returned to finish second in a Grade 1 at the Punchestown Festival. He holds stablemate Loughglynn by 10 lengths on his last run and he can build on that promising introduction to fences. Mint Boy was unsuited by the shorter distance over hurdles at Leopardstown over Christmas but is rated 134 in this sphere, having shown better form at Galway in October. He stays well but might struggle to beat the selection. Chigorin was well held at Gowran but should also benefit from returning to this longer trip.

Smart hurdler HIGH CLASS HERO made an encouraging debut in this sphere after 8 months off when second in a similar event here on New Year's Eve and is preferred to his stablemate Loughglynn and Mint Boy, who's back at a more suitable trip.

This should be relatively straightforward for HIGH CLASS HERO who has a clear edge over stablemate Loughglynn

FACT OR FABLE and Repartee cross swords again after finishing third and fourth in a handicap at Kempton on Wednesday night and it would come as no surprise to see the former, who is a dual winner on Polytrack, cement his authority in this weaker-looking event. Conquest Of Power and Invincible Navy are the best in at the weights according to official ratings and they also warrant consideration.

CONQUEST OF POWER settled better than can be the case and ran well when finishing runner-up over the extended 1m trip at Wolverhampton 6 days ago. He looks to hold solid claims with a repeat at this level and earns the vote. Fact Or Fable and So Chic may emerge next best.

The ones to concentrate on may be CONQUEST OF POWER, Fact Or Fable and So Chic, who are preferred in that order.

In a moderate event a chance can be taken with LOOKING SPLENDID, who was second off this mark over C&D in November and bits of promise can be taken from his two subsequent efforts. Good Company may improve now switched to handicap company and should not be underestimated as a result. Others to note are Coral Blue and Not In Kansas.

This certainly isn't the strongest race for the grade, and LOOKING SPLENDID has shown enough in handicaps over this sort of distance to suggest he is more than capable of winning this. Coral Blue performed with plenty of credit in a stronger race over C&D two weeks ago, so he is a danger, as is handicap-debutant Good Company who could be better than what he's shown in novice company.

The return to Musselburgh and reapplication of the tongue-tie may enable AGILULF to get off the mark in this weak race.
Class & Speed Card

January's Thyestes Chase form is very much tested here but a chance is taken with KINGS HALO, who remains somewhat unexposed over extreme staying distances. The selection won a Naas chase by 18 lengths in January 2024 and having returned lame the following month, he bounced back to winning ways on his subsequent chase outing at Cork last month. He is 5lb higher today and tackles a much tougher race but has only once tried three miles, finishing second, and likes soft ground. Thyestes runner-up Velvet Elvis and the third-placed Favori De Champdou have obvious claims but concede plenty weight to the selection. From 10 reopposing rivals, Bushmans Pass was next best in the Thyestes in fifth.

VELVET ELVIS was reinvigorated by the return to chasing and the addition of cheekpieces when running the race of his life to finish second in the Thyestes Chase at Gowran last month and can go one better back down in grade. Kings Halo and Favori de Champdou head the dangers.

Fifth in the Thyestes on his first start this season BUSHMANS PASS may turn the tables on Velvet Elvis, and Favori De Champdou\p

A first-time visor won't need to draw much improvement from ALICE'S IMPACT for her to make the most of stepping up in trip and come out on top here. Capallcliste is another appealing option based on his peak form and merits close inspection on his debut run for a new yard. Brinton and Rainbow Sign have also shown enough to suggest they can be on the premises in a weak event like this.

CAPALLCLISTE went close to breaking his duck on 3 of his last 4 starts during the second half of last season and he could be worth siding with to make a winning start for his new yard here. Brinton is proving consistent and she's a threat, with Rainbow Sign and Alice's Impact also in with a shout.

It's not an easy choice at this low level but CAPALLCLISTE may make a winning debut for his new yard. Brinton is second on the list.
Class & Speed Card

Bravethewaves got off the mark at the second attempt over fences at Catterick last month but the eight-year-old will need to improve again to defy a 6lb rise. With that in mind, HENRY GRAY might have a good opportunity to gain his first career victory. Donald McCain's gelding showed some promise over fences last season and is likely to improve from his hurdles run at Uttoxeter in December. Divas Doyen and Goodtimes Badtimes appear best of the remainder.

BRAVETHEWAVES proved none the worse for his spill on chasing debut when off the mark under a confident ride at Catterick last month and can defy a 6 lb rise. The low-mileage Henry Gray is of interest back over fences, while Divas Doyen is another to consider if her latest run can be forgiven.

The mare DIVAS DOYEN likes it here and earns the vote having not quite seen out Carlisle's stiff 2m5f on soft ground last time.
Class & Speed Card

WILLIAM MUNNY defeated the reopposing rival C'est Ta Chance in a Naas bumper last season and can confirm those placings from 4lb better terms, despite being a two-race maiden over hurdles. Following that Naas bumper, the selection finished third in a Grade 1 at the Punchestown Festival and while beaten in two recent maiden hurdles, those were smart contests and he performed well in both of them. C'est Ta Chance is generally consistent and while he holds Taponthego on recent Navan form, he might struggle to beat the selection. The Great Nudie faces a tougher task than when winning here last month.

Willie Mullins' C'EST TA CHANCE got off to a successful start at Clonmel and is fancied to quickly resume winning ways on the back of an excellent Navan second last time out. William Munny also has better days ahead of him though so should ensure the selection doesn't have things all his own way. Taponthego, The Great Nudie and Disco Dancer all warrant respect too in an intriguing listed contest.

WILLIAM MUNNY (nap) has two good seconds to his name and can exploit a 4lb concession from C'Est Ta Chance

Having regained the winning thread in ready fashion at Chelmsford 17 days ago, another bold bid is forecast from ARCADIAN NIGHTS. A 3lb nudge up in the ratings for the seven-year-old looks lenient and an 11th career triumph could be imminent. The biggest threat may emerge from recent C&D scorer Raintown, who boasts a similar profile to the selection. Fellow in-form rival Epsom Faithfull is the pick of the remainder.

A case can be made for most of these but ARCADIAN NIGHTS ran out an emphatic winner at Chelmsford City last time and is taken to defy a 3 lb weight rise. Not Me heads the list of dangers on the back of a good Southwell fourth with the promise of more to come over this longer distance. Raintown, Epsom Faithfull and Waterloo Sunset can all have a say too.

A few of these are in good form but the ones with most potential are the lightly raced 4yos NOT ME and Parkland.

STAR VANTAGE has benefited from stepping up in trip in recent months with a string of consistent efforts and the son of Ocovango may have been found the ideal opportunity to finally shed the maiden tag. Take A Hike finished runner-up at Wetherby when tackling 3m for the first time and looks to be a threat off 2lb higher. Anamanda and Evenwood Sonofagun are others capable of being in the mix.

STAR VANTAGE hasn't been with the Rebecca Menzies' yard long and again ran well when chasing home a stablemate at Southwell 2 weeks ago. Clear of the remainder that day, he's one to be interested in from this sort of mark and earns the vote re-united with Brian Hughes. Take A Hike and Anamanda are others fancied to feature, with handicap-debutante Reflection Of You another to note, particularly if the market spoke in her favour.

The step up to a staying trip has suited STAR VANTAGE and he can break his duck. The unexposed 7yo Take A Hike could be the danger.

DR EGGMAN has been absent since finishing third at Perth when Willie Mullins was trying to secure the UK Trainers' Championship at the end of last season and looks to have found a good opportunity to open his account over hurdles on his return from a lengthy absence. The Ballinrobe bumper winner showed a high level of placed form in maiden hurdles last term, including when third to Caldwell Potter at Navan. Hello Jack has twice been placed behind Mullins-trained odds-on favourites and now steps up in trip, while Last Kingdom won a bumper in France but needs to improve on the form shown in two hurdle starts for current connections. Youlita and Slieve Annilog are two point-to-point winners to note.

Bumper winner DR EGGMAN became expensive to follow over hurdles last season but this looks an excellent opportunity for Willie Mullins' 7-y-o, and he's fancied to come out on top after 9 months off. Hello Jack, Last Kingdom and Youlita are others to consider. Pookie Holler is another expected to do better.

This looks like a good opportunity for DR EGGMAN who went close last season and could be a different proposition this term

Baikal appeared to relish a switch to the all-weather when scoring over track and trip last month and a 2lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another good account. However, HONRADO found only a subsequent winner too strong in classified company over 1m4f here in late January and Tony Carroll's charge is slightly more compelling. Come On John is also down in distance and an improved performance wouldn't surprise.

HONRADO took a step forward for his current yard when a clear second here last time out and with the winner having scored again since he is fancied to get off the mark. Baikal is feared most on the back of a recent C&D success, although Come On John is weighted to go well too and both Nasim and Venus Slipper must also enter calculations.

This can go to HONRADO, who returned to form and kept on very nicely for a clear second in a 1m4f classified here last month.
Class & Speed Card

Following a C&D success, Cardamon Hill failed to complete a hat-trick when finishing third over an extended 2m4f here last time, but this step back up in trip might see him get closer off a 1lb lower mark. Even so, JEM IN EM looks the way to go. Lucinda Russell's seven-year-old occupied the runner-up berth in a deeper contest over 3m6f at Newcastle in November and could take full advantage of an unchanged rating. Hold Onto The Line is looks best with Brian Hughes booked.

JEM IN EM is less exposed than these over fences so can build on his very good Newcastle second last time out and gain a first win in this sphere. In-form C&D scorer Cardamon Hill rates a big danger however, while Hold Onto The Line and Whosmydaddy also need factoring into this open handicap chase.

With this trip perhaps not ideal for his chief rivals Hold Onto The Line and Jem In Em, CARDAMON HILL (nap) has a good chance.
Class & Speed Card

PROPHET'S CORNER won four times between the flags and now tackles handicap company for the first time after showing promise when placed in all three maiden hurdle starts. The Westerner gelding likes to force the pace and was only headed approaching the last when third to the odds-on Argento Boy over a slightly longer trip here earlier this month. Must Go Now had Portnacoo (now 14lb better off on official ratings) nearly nine lengths behind when successful over 2m4f at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day. Portnacoo completed a hat-trick when trained by his veteran owner Harry Smyth last year and has won over 2m6f, while Duffys Hodey has won three of his last four starts but has gone up 26lb as a result.

DUFFYS HODEY is in the form of his life, and he may find enough improvement over this longer trip to defy the handicapper once again. Misty Milan was well backed when a promising fifth on her reappearance and it would be no surprise to see her go close. Beggars Rock could well bounce back to form if taking up this engagement, while Must Go Now deserves an honourable mention in a competitive novice handicap.

It's hard to know where the ceiling of DUFFYS HODEY's ability lies and an 8lb rise for his recent course success looks lenient
Class & Speed Card

A first-time visor proved just the trick for recent Wolverhampton winner Marvellous Lady, but she has more on her plate reverting to handicap company under a penalty. With that in mind, it could be worth siding with the lightly-raced CARD SHARK. The son of Dark Angel posted a solid third in a 14-runner affair over 1m on his handicap bow at Kempton last month and a return to today's 1m2f distance could prove fruitful. Sir Laurence Graff and Dubai Harbour are worth a second look too.

In a trappy event, it may be worth siding with ROLYPOLYMOLY who showed plenty of promise on his first run for nearly a year and is entitled to build on that with a more experienced jockey taking over in the plate. Mr Trick shaped well when short of room at a crucial stage last time, while Sir Laurence Graff had an even rougher passage when narrowly defeated over C&D last month.

The suggestion is CARD SHARK, who was returning from an eight-month absence when third on his recent handicap debut.
Class & Speed Card

HEART ABOVE justified favouritism over track and trip in November and only has a 5lb higher rating to contend with today. Dianne Sayer's seven-year-old has lots in his favour as he bid to make it three wins out of his last four starts, with his main threat possibly being Milajess, who produced a much better effort when second at Sedgefield earlier in the month. Of the remainder, Inoue makes the most appeal after his third-placed effort at Catterick last month.

MILAJESS is a long-standing maiden but she did bump into a handicap blot at Sedgefield last week and this might finally be her day. Heart Above was at the top of his game when last seen in November and heads the dangers along with Trailblazer. Handicap-newcomer King Ulanda would also be of interest if the betting vibes are strong.

This could go to JET PATROL on his first run since wind surgery. He looks to be on a handy mark on his best C&D form.
Class & Speed Card

BEGORRA MAN ran a cracker on debut when keeping on into fifth behind the smart Kopek Des Bordes in a 23-runner maiden hurdle at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival. The Flemensfirth gelding should progress from that outing and gets the vote over Gameofinches, who easily beat a couple of subsequent winners in a Dromahane point-to-point last November. Cosmos D'ainay also won between the flags at Borris House, while Casterly Rock is another to consider after being beaten less than two lengths on his debut at Fairyhouse last month. Any market move for Rojuco Mac on debut would be interesting.

Willie Mullins has won the last 3 runnings of this bumper and can make it 4 in a row with GAMEOFINCHES, who was the ready winner of a point in November. Cosmos d'Ainay is another point winner who has joined a top yard for his Rules career and is second choice ahead of Gavin Cromwell's Begorra Man, who displayed plenty of ability when fifth in a warm maiden hurdle at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting on debut.

A chance is taken on BEGORRA MAN who might offer a bit of value after outrunning his price in the maiden hurdle won by Kopek Des Bordes
