1st (6) Goguenard (5/2 +0%)
Goguenard

5/2(+0%)
(6) Goguenard 5/2, Well out of the weights but much improved after a year off when winning 9-runner event on handicap debut at Wetherby last week, outbattling runner-up. Races from lower mark this time despite a 7-lb penalty but is having second start back in quick succession after a long absence.
May be affected by the bounce factor but has major claims if backing up his Wetherby win.

2nd (2) Beaumesnil (4/1 +43%)
Beaumesnil

4/1(+43%)
(2) Beaumesnil 4/1, Travelled smoothly before seemingly finding the heavy ground taking it's toll when fifth at Hexham in December but failed to build on that promise at Wetherby on Boxing Day. Looked a shade awkward there and blinkers now go on, though there remains a suspicion there's a bigger effort in him.
This combination of drop in class and new headgear may prompt a turnaround.

(3) Moroccan Moon 33/1, Looked limited in bumpers and finished well held in a trio of novice hurdles. More needed.

(5) Hubbel Bubbel 16/1, Showed a bit on first of 2 starts in bumpers and has also given a glimmer of encouragement in a trio of hurdle outings so far. May do better now handicapping.
Difficult to assess with confidence but is a possible improver now handicapping.

Coco Kolada

10/11(-47%)
(1) Coco Kolada 10/11, Much improved when making the frame on handicap debut at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day and took another sizeable step forward to get off the mark at Down Royal (17.2f, heavy, 11/4) 10 days ago. Open to further improvement and he rates as the one to beat under a penalty.
Irish hurdler who justified favouritism at Down Royal last week; should progress further.

Hollywood Harmon

28/1(+15%)
(4) Hollywood Harmon 28/1, Unplaced completed starts in Irish points. Merely hinted at ability in maiden/novice hurdles under Rules and proved far too keen when pulled up in handicap hurdle at this course (25.3f, soft) 22 days ago. Hood goes on.
0-4 in points and 0-4 over hurdles; however, may improve back down in distance.
LTO Selection:

13:05 Catterick Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Goguenard sprung a surprise following a year-long absence when digging deep to score from out of the weights on his handicap bow at Wetherby last week and he warrants respect racing off a 4lb lower rating. However, COCO KOLADA was more taking when justifying strong market support at Down Royal two days earlier. There should be more to come and he is fancied to defy his penalty. Handicap debutant Hubbel Bubbel may fare best of the remainder.

An interesting race with Irish raider COCO KOLADA fancied to continue his progress in handicaps and get the better of the similarly-penalised Goguenard, who caused a surprise from a long way out of the weights at Wetherby last week. Beaumesnil disappointed last time but his penultimate effort was promising and he can take third.

Goguenard has a great chance provided his Wetherby form is repeated. Irish raider COCO KOLADA looks the strongest alternative.

Monopolise

11/2(+8%)
(6) Monopolise 11/2, 7/1, very good third of 6 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 18 days ago. Well treated if he can build on that.
Hung right-handed throughout when third here last time which would be a concern.
LTO Selection:

13:17 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Returning to 1m shouldn't inconvenience Epsom Faithfull and she can go well in her attempt to follow up last month's 7f success at this venue. Sandy Paradise was a close third in that race and enters the equation with a 3lb pull this time. However, GREAT BLASKET appeals most at this trip and on these terms, so shades the vote off just 2lb above his last winning mark. Cosmos Raj completes the shortlist.

GREAT BLASKET is still going the right way and probably would have won at Wolverhampton last time had he enjoyed a clear passage, so he's worth chancing to gain compensation. Epsom Faithfull did well to get up late here recently, so she's an obvious danger and Monopolise is a threat from a lenient mark.

Preference is for GREAT BLASKET who did best of those held up when a close third at Wolverhampton a week ago.

LTO Selection:

13:25 Southwell Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Time For A Pint opened his account in pleasing fashion at Catterick last month and the seven-year-old may have more to offer. However, an 8lb rise in the ratings will demand more from him and it may be worth taking a chance on PUDDLESINTHEPARK. The combination of an 82-day layoff and less testing conditions could see Evan Williams' charge in a better light, with this drop in class likely to suit too. Ali Star Bert and Felton Bellevue are other viable alternatives.

TIME FOR A PINT has impressed with his jumping since switched to chasing and is unexposed over this distance, so he's well fancied to add to his cosy Catterick success a month ago. Ali Star Bert and Felton Bellevue are both solid alternatives for all that they're much more exposed.

The standout candidate in terms of potential is TIME FOR A PINT, who made the breakthrough in good style over fences at Catterick.

(3) Da Vinci Hand 3/1, Seemingly not the force of old but did take a step back in the right direction from his reduced mark when runner-up at Market Rasen (21.4f, good to soft) in November. Stamina stretched tried in cheekpieces (now discarded) over 25.2f here last week and couldn't rule out back down in trip.

Onenightintown

(8) Onenightintown 8/1, Dual chase winner in 2022 and posted best effort of last year when third in a 7-runner C&D handicap towards the end of December (Zara's Universe and Ballynagran both behind). 1 lb lower now and he's a key player.
Respectable third in similar event over C&D five weeks ago; strike-rate remains modest.

Rolling River

15/2(-7%)
(6) Rolling River 15/2, Fair bumper winner but hasn't got close to that level over hurdles and hopes now pitched on this switch to fences sparking something new.
Switch to chasing is a possible source of improvement for this southern raider.
LTO Selection:

13:35 Catterick Handicap Chase (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KINGS JUSTICE has proven a different proposition since being fitted with cheekpieces and Sam Allwood's gelding is fancied to supplement December's C&D victory by completing a double here. A 1lb drop in the ratings for finishing third over track and trip may see Onenightintown give the selection most to think about. Da Vinci Hand continues to slip down the weights and is always worth a look at this circuit.

With questions marks surrounding the majority of his rivals for one reason or another, KINGS JUSTICE looks the way to go. He was pulled up on his chase debut but hasn't looked back with cheekpieces enlisted over this C&D the last twice and remains on an appealing mark. Da Vinci Hand and Onenightintown may emerge as the main dangers.

The vote goes to KINGS JUSTICE (nap), who is open to further progress in the retained headgear. Zara's Universe is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A few of these are old rivals the likes of Dors Toyboy, Daring Guest and Rivas Rob Roy can all be fancied to have a say if they give their running. However, it may pay to stick with last-time-out winner SIR TITAN, who should have no issues whatsoever with dropping back to this distance after winning over 1m here last month. A 2lb higher mark is hardly insurmountable for the selection.

RIVAS ROB ROY turns out again before a 3 lb rise for last week's near miss over 1m here kicks in and could be the way to go if still as effective over 7f. Recent course scorer Sir Titan and Mark Usher's Outreach also arrive in form and are respected, while Dulcet Spirit is well capable in this grade on her day and needs keeping an eye on in the betting under Rossa Ryan.

Rivas Rob Roy is ahead of the assessor but a solid alternative is DORS TOYBOY, while Dulcet Spirit is also interesting.

13:55 Southwell Handicap Chase (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MY GIFT TO YOU has won over fences at Fakenham and over hurdles at this venue in recent months. A 5lb rise for the gelding's latest success looks far from insurmountable and a hat-trick could be in the offing. Last month's Hereford third File Illico finished behind a subsequent winner that day and he's dangerous to discount, while Cloudy Wednesday should prove more competitive on this return to chasing.

MY GIFT TO YOU has done little wrong since joining the James Owen yard and he is taken to make it 3-3 over fences on the back of a thoroughly decisive C&D success 16 days ago. Next on the list is File Illico, who has dropped to a potentially very handy mark and his latest third at Hereford represented a step back in the right direction. The 12-y-o Abaya du Mathan and Cloudy Wednesday are others to consider.

There's a lot to be said for File Illico after his recent return to form but unexposed MY GIFT TO YOU remains on the upgrade.

14:05 Catterick Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Useful Flat performer MAASAI MARA will have learned plenty from his hurdles bow when second at Hereford last month. That experience should stand him in good stead, which may be enough to give him the edge over Golden Maverick. Jamie Snowden's charge has also proven a capable sort on the level and he isn't taken lightly now tackling obstacles for the first time. Mr Le Philosophe and Love True warrant a second look too.

An interesting juvenile, with a few of these well above average on the Flat. Of those MAASAI MARA and Love True have hurdle experience and might be the pair to focus on, with the former preferred on the back of his Hereford second. Golden Maverick and Mr Le Philosophe would rate dangers if the betting suggests they are fancied.

Triumph entries MAASAI MARA, Golden Maverick and Mr Le Philosophe line up for an intriguing clash.

Runner-up in each of his three previous starts, INFLUENCE has done very little wrong and sets the standard in this ordinary-looking maiden. Rascal Recknell showed stacks of promise at Kempton last month on just his second career start, so is second choice based on his obvious potential. Marching Mac, a stablemate of the selection, has something to recommend him on pedigree and is also worth a betting check.

INFLUENCE will be suited by 7f and just shades the vote over Rascal Recknell, who surely has races in him also.

This can go to RASCAL RECKNELL who must have a fine chance if settling better than when narrowly beaten at Kempton last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ACT OF AUTHORITY made light work of a drop in class when securing a second victory over hurdles at Bangor in December. Although Olly Murphy's charge does have to shoulder a double penalty in this event, Dylan Johnston's 7lb claim could prove invaluable. Teorie was too free when only fourth at Musselburgh last month, but he may give the selection most to think about if settling better, with Tommie Gun completing the shortlist.

ACT OF AUTHORITY, an expensive point recruit, has looked a good prospect so far over hurdles and he can take his tally to three in this sphere at the likely expense of Teorie, who should benefit from the return of Paddy Brennan. Tommie Gun is considered, too.

Teorie and Tommie Gun have won in this sphere but ACT OF AUTHORITY has shown something or a higher order and can win again.

LTO Selection:

14:35 Catterick Handicap Chase (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The vote goes to MOORE CLOUDS. Andrew Wilson's mare is just 1lb higher than when winning at Sedgefield on Boxing Day and with forecast ground conditions unlikely to be a hindrance, she looks to have been found a good opportunity. Treaty Boy didn't show much in three novice hurdles last year, but he might fare better switched to fences and with a first-time tongue-tie applied. Melvich Bay heads the remainder.

The most solid option is MOORE CLOUDS, who has won two of her last four starts and she has only gone up 1 lb for her latest success at Sedgefield. Berliet Express will be a threat if able to build on his latest Market Rasen effort, which was much his best since coming over from Ireland, and Treaty Boy could also be a factor on his chase debut.

Off a reduced mark and with Brian Hughes booked, BERLIET EXPRESS may finally open his chase account. Treaty Boy is second choice.

LTO Selection:

14:47 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bradman arrives on the back of a workmanlike victory over 1m4f at Wolverhampton four days ago and should be be able to make his presence felt again, but the combination of the drop in distance and a 6lb penalty will make life tougher for Charlie Fellowes' gelding. With that in mind, preference is for the class-dropping KHAMSIN, who ran with promise in fourth on his handicap debut over a mile at Southwell last month. Bas Bleu and Claxton Bay appeal most of the remainder.

A winner at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start, LIVINTHELIFE likely would have benefited from a stronger gallop when fourth at Kempton on Wednesday and, back down in trip, he's fancied to be seen in a better light. The hat-trick seeking Bradman and old rival Something To Do are others fancied to figure.

Preference is for KHAMSIN whose latest fourth at Southwell is working out very well, while he shapes as though this trip will suit.

The Henry Daly-trained mare was well in command at the time and, given the handicapper still put her up 5lb, she looks to be the most intriguing option. The unexposed Clararose, who goes handicapping for the first time, is feared most, while Ya Know Yaseff is the pick of the rest.

MINNIEMUM had the race at her mercy when unseating her rider at the final flight at Catterick last time and can gain compensation. Handicap-debutante Clararose is very interesting upped markedly in trip given her earlier promise. Tequila Blaze could also figure off her reduced mark.

Shesupincourt has won two of her last four starts but MINNIEMUM is taken to make amends for her last-hurdle unseat at Catterick.

(2) Eleanor Bob 3/1, Much improved when bagging pair of small field mares' handicap chases early in 2022 and showed she retains all of her ability back from a lengthy absence when 4¼ lengths fourth of 10 at Haydock in November. Disappointing next time but this looks easier.
Ran poorly on latest outing but may rebound in this smaller field back down in grade.
LTO Selection:

15:05 Catterick Handicap Chase (Class 3) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ELEANOR BOB was well below par in the Tommy Whittle at Haydock, having been well supported, but it would come as no surprise were Venetia Williams' charge to bounce back in these calmer waters. Eureka Creek weakened into third over an extended 2m4f at Cheltenham, but earlier indications gave the impression this longer trip would suit. She looks the most likely threat, although Shighness shouldn't be underestimated following an encouraging second at Wetherby.

EUREKA CREEK is nicely handicapped and took a firm step back in the right direction when third at Cheltenham 49 days ago, so she's worth siding with in this less competitive scenario, with the step back up in trip unlikely to pose a problem. Shighness is the main danger although Eleanor Bob should take a hand if she can put a poor run behind her.

Back in calmer waters, EUREKA CREEK looks poised to regain the winning thread. Shighness is feared most.

ROLYPOLYMOLY was making his first start on the Flat for this stable when finishing a running-on second over an inadequate 1m2f last month and, back up to 2m off an unchanged mark, he may be able to get his blinkered-head home in front. The Craftymaster rates as the main danger to the selection but he will need to defy a career-high mark in order to take the gold medal. Easy Equation made a pleasing start to life with Charlie Fellowes when finishing second over an extended 2m at Southwell on his latest outing and is likely to enter the reckoning.

THE CRAFTYMASTER has gone from strength-to-strength in staying handicaps in recent weeks, digging deep under pressure to bring up the hat-trick at Wolverhampton 2 weeks ago. He gets the vote to defy the assessor again and complete the 4-timer. Easy Equation produced a solid first effort for his new yard when second at Southwell recently and he's feared, ahead of Winklevi and Rolypolymoly.

Despite still having to prove himself on Polytrack, THE CRAFTYMASTER (nap) is taken to extend his winning sequence to four.

LTO Selection:

15:25 Southwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Proven at this sort of level, ZWICKY has progressed this season and, based on his potential for further improvement now that he steps up in trip, the seven-year-old earns the vote. With stamina more proven than some, Diger Daudaie also enters calculations, while Ithaka hasn't enjoyed much luck in recent starts but has faced stiffer tests, so cannot be ruled out. The betting can guide to Myfanwy's Magic, who takes a big step up in trip here.

ZWICKY's latest third in a muddling race at Hexham probably shouldn't be taken to suggest his progress has levelled off and he gets the nod now stepping up to 3m under Harry Cobden. Although Globe Player was a well-held third on his course handicap debut last month he retains potential as a lightly-raced type and is feared most unless the betting speaks for Ithaka.

This could be a weak race and ZWICKY (nap) may well have an excellent chance to register his third win this season.

LTO Selection:

15:35 Catterick Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SHANTOU MOON looked value for more than the winning margin when scoring over C&D last time out, and a 5lb higher mark shouldn't inconvenience him as he aims to follow up. The seven-year-old gets the vote ahead of Balkotic and Champ Royal, who has been a revelation since joining Susan Corbett and could improve for going up in trip after winning over just short of three miles at Musselburgh.

SHANTOU MOON had a good deal in hand when scoring over C&D last time and is well worth a chance to go in again. Fellow last-time-out winner Champ Royal is a danger and Danny The Fence is a notable Irish challenger.

The suggestion is SAM'S CHOICE, ahead of Guernesey, in an open contest.

15:47 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BOOM BOOM POW gave the impression that her turn to be in the winner's enclosure may be imminent when being collared close home over 6f at Chelmsford most recently and, off an unchanged mark, she looks sure to make her presence felt once more. Last-time-out winner Nubough warrants consideration, but a 4lb penalty asks another question of him, while Savannah Smiles is taken to fill the frame after an admirable second-placed finish off the same mark over C&D last week.

Having scored over C&D in December, SASSY REDHEAD wasn't seen to best effect when second (to Nubough) here recently and, if more goes her way from the ideal draw, she could get back to winning ways. Several others arrive in form but Boom Boom Pow and Savannah Smiles could emerge as the main dangers.

In receipt of weight all round, SAVANNAH SMILES gets the verdict, with Sassy Redhead second choice and Vitalline also feared.

NOTFORALONGTIME justified strong support in the market when scoring over C&D in December and Laura Hourigan's charge looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to complete a double. Having posted a promising second on his stable bow in a handicap here last time out, Monzoon cannot be taken lightly reverting to this company. Winemaker and Dutch Glory are other likely players judged on the ratings.

NOTFORALONGTIME landed a few tidy bets when recording a third course success here a couple of months ago and kept to claiming company, Laura Hourigan's 7-y-o looks sure to go close again. This is Allo Arry's first go in this grade so he could be the one to give the selection most to think about, with Dutch Glory and Monzoon another couple fancied to feature.

Winner of a similar race over C&D in December, beating Monzoon narrowly, NOTFORALONGTIME can repeat the feat.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Narrowly denied over this course and distance 16 days ago, HOBB'S DELIGHT could go one better if he copes with a 4lb rise imposed for that near miss. Fantomas also posted a solid effort when second over C&D when last seen and can go well on his first run since October. Matoury is unexposed as a stayer and completes the shortlist.

Robbie Llewellyn is making a name for himself with new recruits and HERMES LE GRIS appeals as another who might be turned around by a switch to the Wiltshire-based handler. Market support for handicap newcomer Getaway Glory would make him a possible big threat. Recent C&D runner-up Hobb's Delight is also respected in an interesting finale.

The most solid claims belong to HOBB'S DELIGHT who has been first and second in handicaps on his last two starts, the latter over C&D.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BRUNELLO BREEZE arrives here having won two of his last three starts and a 6lb rise for the most recent of those victories, which came over C&D, may not be enough to stop him. That said, Asgard's Captain is another with strong form claims and he appears to be the main threat to the selection, ahead of Loom Large and Red Treasure.

BRUNELLO BREEZE has been resurgent in blinkers in recent months, making it 2 wins from his last 3 starts when readily taking a C&D handicap 25 days ago. He earns the vote to continue the good work, with Red Treasure, back from a short break, and Asgard's Captain, who may not have been ideally suited to the track at Lingfield last time, heading the dangers.

The most solid profile belongs to BRUNELLO BREEZE (nap) who loves this track and was a ready C&D scorer early in January.

LTO Selection:

16:10 Catterick Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BELLE NA BANN continues to go from strength to strength and the hat-trick looks very much on the cards following a comfortable success over C&D on New Year's Day. Emma Smith-Chaston's 3lb claim continues to be a plus, and the Micky Hammond-trained mare should have too much for Lenebane and Letthedustsettle, who has a 7lb penalty to overcome for an easy victory over track and trip last week.

LETTHEDUSTSETTLE won nicely over C&D last week and his 7 lb penalty is offset by Cameron Iles' claim so he could take a bit of stopping if coping with the quick turnaround. The hat-trick seeking Belle Na Bann may give him most to do ahead of Bleue Verte, who was better than the result on her recent handicap debut.

Unexposed LETTHEDUSTSETTLE is taken to complete a quickfire Catterick double. Belle Na Bann is feared most.

THANK THE LORD is well drawn for a prominent racer and can strike for the second time this winter. Glamorous Express has taken well to AW recently and is second choice ahead of Darlo Pride.

16:25 Dundalk Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

AISLING OSCAR was rated just 47 when making a winning handicap debut over 1m here 17 days ago and, with just 4lb more to shoulder, a quick follow-up success is a very feasible outcome if he copes with dropping back a furlong. Mary Bagot was a half-length second in that race and is noteworthy with a 3lb pull. Signor Ferrari (fourth) didn't get much luck in running that day and is also feared, despite having made little impression when previously tried over this trip.

STILL SHE BLOOMS has finished down the field all 3 starts to date, but she wasn't knocked about on her most recent outing and is bred to be better than the modest opening mark, so she could be worth chancing. Aising Oscar and Mary Bagot are closely matched on form, and they head the opposition.

3lb better off for a half length beating by Aisling Oscar over a mile here last time, MARY BAGOT might be able to turn the tables.

True Promise dead-heated for the victory on his racecourse bow over 6f at this venue last month and has to be of interest as a result. Others to note are Alreet Cha and Soldier's Class.

MARMADUKE LEMON was much improved from his debut when making another promising sort pull out all the stops at Wolverhampton recently (the pair clear) and with the prospect of even more to come, he looks the one to beat. Alreet Cha and True Promise both have reasons to recommend them also and rate next best.

Marmaduke Lemon is open to further progress but ALREET CHA is banging at the door and has strong claims at the weights.

17:00 Dundalk Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A promising third on his first start over C&D last month, NERANO showed more than enough to suggest that he can get off the mark this time around for his in-form connections. Late Night Talking has shaped well on his last two starts and stepping up in trip should aid his cause, while Pepper Noir was eye-catching when keeping on late when making his own debut last month.

Only a handful of these make any serious appeal with NERANO taken to confirm his debut promise over C&D 8 weeks ago and go a couple of places better. Late Night Talking has hit the frame on both starts here in recent weeks so he may emerge as the main danger, with Pepper Noir and the selection's stablemate Beyond Your Dreams rounding off the shortlist.

Having finished a solid third on debut over C&D, NERANO(nap) should be able to build upon that and go two better

LTO Selection:

17:15 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MAMALOUKA has improved since being switched to handicap company and merits the utmost respect having got off the mark over a mile at Kempton a month ago. A 2lb rise for that success appears to be fair as she may have more progression left to come. Likleman looks next best after his second over C&D 11 days ago, while Supreme Tenacity completes the shortlist.

MAMALOUKA has made a fine start from a low base in handicaps, confirming the promise of her Chelmsford second when running out a good winner at Kempton 4 weeks ago. Up just 2 lb for that success, she can strike again. Likleman, a good second on debut for his new yard over C&D 11 days ago rates next best, ahead of Catena. Market support behind Northern Cracksman would also look interesting.

Mamalouka can improve further but the new surface is a query whereas LIKLEMAN handled it well on his debut for a new yard.

LTO Selection:

17:30 Dundalk Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

An eye-catcher when runner-up on her first start here last month, GIOIELLA should have plenty of improvement forthcoming and the booking of Colin Keane catches the eye as she looks to break the maiden. Oriental Dancer is another who has only recently came to these shores and she is a leading contender, along with Beauty Bella (fifth), who has a length to find with the selection from their most recent meeting.

French import GIOIELLA made a positive start for this yard when runner-up over 7f here in December and she is taken to go one better now upped to a mile. Oriental Dancer is 0-9 but she is consistent and looks sure to be involved in the finish, while Beauty Bella and Lauroline are others with claims.

With some improvement likely from her runner-up effort over 7f here on Irish debut, GIOIELLA can get off the mark.

LTO Selection:

17:45 Newcastle Handicap (Class 3) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

GOOD MORNING ALEX is now 2-2 over 1m following last month's C&D success, and a 6lb penalty might not be enough to prevent the son of Land Force from completing his hat-trick. Tasmanian Legend was also on target over track and trip last time out and another bold bid looks assured from just a 2lb raised mark. Howard's Choice enters handicaps from a potentially workable mark and he appeals most of the remainder.

This is likely to boil down to a straight fight between TASMANIAN LEGEND and Good Morning Alex. The former was allowed a soft lead when making a winning debut for Alice Haynes over C&D a fortnight ago and while he may not be afforded the same luxury this time with Sennockian in opposition, he nevertheless looks the most likely winner.

Tasmanian Legend and GOOD MORNING ALEX both won slowly-run C&D events last month. The latter is marginally preferred this time.

CHARLISSE, on the other hand, was in unstoppable form when she landed a slightly weaker race over the 7f circuit when last seen and, given she is currently 2-2 at this venue, it's feasible the Camacho mare can be a player in this grade. Skontonovski and On Our Radar are a couple of others to consider.

SUPERIOR FORCE's losing run tempers enthusiasm, but he stepped up on his reappearance run when third behind a thriving sort over C&D 17 days ago and, having eased in the weights a little more, he could be worth siding with to get back to winning ways. On Our Radar on his first try at 1m, Skontonovski and Morning Approach are a trio of others to consider.

Very open, with a tentative vote going to MORNING APPROACH, whose recent narrow defeat has been franked since

18:15 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bobby Joe Leg is officially 3lb well-in under a 4lb penalty, having completed his hat-trick at Southwell eight days ago, and he merits the utmost respect, but the vote goes to GOBI SUNSET. A staying-on second over 6f on his latest outing, he can go one better now dropped in class and upped in trip, with a high draw likely to be of benefit too. Others to note include Rory and Alexander James.

Having finished runner-up behind a course-specialist at Southwell on his penultimate start, STAR ZINC shaped much better than the bare result over 1m here 11 days ago, pulling hard and having no cover on the flank. He's worth another chance to confirm his present mark workable and earns the vote back at 7f. The thriving Bobby Joe Leg heads up the dangers, with Abruzzo Mia and Alexander James others to note.

A trappy race but likely to be run at a good pace. Rory is a contender back up to 7f but STAR ZINC can bounce back to form.

LTO Selection:

18:30 Dundalk Handicap 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

STAR HARBOUR was far from disgraced when finishing fourth on his reappearance in a conditions event here last week. The refitting of a visor and a return to this distance in handicap company may be enough for the six-year-old to regain the winning thread. Satono Chevalier arrives in good form and is expected to give another good account, while Yokkell warrants respect in her quest to land a hat-trick.

The vote goes to SATONO CHEVALIER, who has barely put a foot wrong on the all-weather and he meets Yokkell on significantly better terms than when a close third to that rival in a 10.7f handicap here in December. This step back up in trip looks a good move for the selection, who is 2-3 over C&D. Yokkell followed up back at this course next time but she's plenty high enough in the weights for now and Star Harbour, who didn't shape at all badly here last month, is feared most.

The hat-trick seeking YOKKELL could be up to the task, remaining unexposed at this trip

LTO Selection:

18:45 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BONITO CAVALO has been a revelation since switching to the all-weather this month and a double penalty, amounting to 10lb, may not be enough to stop Jim Goldie's charge from lading a four-timer at this track. Behind him over C&D earlier in the month was Beneficiary (second), who has improved to score twice here since in classified contests and he looks the biggest threat. Bernie The Bear and Yazaman are capable of being in the shake-up.

BERNIE THE BEAR had to play second fiddle to the bang in-form Bonito Cavalo over C&D last week but he has a good chance of turning the tables with that rival on these revised terms. That said, Bonito Cavalo won't go down without a fight in his bid to complete the four-timer, while Mr Stanley is one to keep an eye on following an encouraging debut for this yard over C&D a fortnight ago.

Bernie The Bear is weighted to close the gap on the BONITO CAVALO but the selection looked to have something to spare last week.

19:00 Dundalk Handicap 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A wide draw didn't stop MOONDHARRIG seizing the initiative when he made all to win over C&D 17 days ago. The fitting of first-time blinkers was a big factor in that improved display and, with the headgear retained, the Eoin Doyle-trained gelding could again be hard to reel in from a much more favourable stalls position. Fellow last-time-out winner Dark Street is feared most, while Tara Power and Barretstown are others with the ability to figure strongly.

BARRETSTOWN won this off a similar mark on last year's reappearance and might be able to repeat the feat having run well here when last seen in September. Last-time-out C&D scorers Dark Street and Moondharrig head the many dangers along with unexposed handicap newcomer Gentle Breath.

Although yet to convince over this trip it could be worth keeping the faith with TARA POWER, an unlucky loser here last month

19:15 Newcastle Stakes (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The veteran ROCKLEY POINT has been knocking on the door of late and this looks like an ideal opportunity for him to regain the winning thread. The 11-year-old has a wealth of experience around here and that may be enough to see off Sherdil and Tantastic, who has been running with credit since joining new connections. Completing the shortlist are Another Angel, Joshua R and Street Life.

SHERDIL shaped better than the bare result when third at Wolverhampton last month and looks up to scoring in this lowly grade. Another Angel has made the frame here on his last 2 outings and is considered again, with fellow veteran Rockley Point also respected after several respectable efforts in defeat.

Aclaim To Fame is interesting but JOSHUA R may prove the answer with his usual cheekpieces back on.

LTO Selection:

19:30 Dundalk Handicap 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A big run from Moondharrig in division one of this race would be a boost for DON'T LOOK NOW, who was a head second to that one over C&D recently. That was a pleasing effort and the Luke Comer-trained filly heads the shortlist off just 2lb higher. Gurkha Girl has placed here before and needs a betting check with blinkers now tried. Marians Gal and Alex The Great also command respect.

TUDOR MANOR was shaping quite well prior to falling on his latest outing over hurdles and he's on a handy mark back on the level, so he takes preference over in-form pair Lucky Question and Gurkha Girl.

Plenty with chances and the vote going to DON'T LOOK NOW after a narrow C&D defeat last time, where she had Lucky Question behind
