(9) Zanahiyr 7/4, Very smart hurdler. Second of 5 in novice chase at Leopardstown (21.3f, heavy, 5/1) on debut over fences 47 days ago. Didn't look a natural chaser and remains to be seen if he'll build on that but he has to be taken seriously given his raw ability.

13:33 Thurles Maiden Chase 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ZANAHIYR couldn't live with the winner of a Leopardstown beginners' chase, but the form got a boost when the horse that beat him followed up in a Grade 1 match race at the Dublin Racing Festival. There was promise in Zanahiyr's runner-up berth in that chasing debut and he had plenty of ability over flights as evidenced by being placed in a Champion Hurdle a couple of years ago. Aspire Tower's third place on chasing bow at this track in November reads well after the winner's recent exploits in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown. Feu Du Bresil looks the pick of Willie Mullins' pair and had Pinkerton a place behind him when runner-up at Fairyhouse in November. Mighty Tom has been highly tried in his first two starts over fences, but clearly has ability. He would prefer better ground, though.

It remains to be seen if ASPIRE TOWER will be able to scale similar heights to those which he reached over hurdles a few years back, but there were certainly positives to take from his chase debut third behind the smart Il Etait Temps here at the end of November. He shades preference ahead of Pinkerton, who was behind Feu du Bresil at Fairyhouse but he remains with potential and may well reverse those placings here. Zanahiyr has to enter calculations, too, along with Mighty Tom.

ZANAHIYR is a high-class hurdler and, while he was well beaten by Fact To File on chasing debut, there is no rival of that calibre here

13:45 Ayr Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A 3lb rise for Joie De Vivre's Sedgefield victory in November shouldn't prevent another bold bid, especially as William Maggs' valuable claim effectively cancels that out. However, that form hasn't worked out as hoped so it could be worth taking a punt on handicap debutant FIVEAFTERFOUR. The six-year-old was far from disgraced when weakening into third over an inadequate 2m at Kelso last month and an opening mark of 92 is potentially lenient. Spice Diva also makes some appeal dropped in distance.

FIVEAFTERFOUR has achieved just modest form over hurdles to date following her point win, but the step up in trip is in her favour and she's worth a chance to make a successful start in handicaps. Last-time-out winner Joie de Vivre remains well treated on old form and Spice Diva is also worthy of consideration.

There ought to be a fair bit more to come from FIVEAFTERFOUR, who made the frame in her last two qualifying races.

13:55 Lingfield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Moonlit Peter showed enough ability on her debut when finishing fourth at Huntingdon to suggest she will have a race of this nature well within her compass soon, but she could come out second best to FOLLOWANGO. Evan Williams' bumper winner took a step forward from her debut over hurdles to fill the runner-up spot at Chepstow over 2m last time and she was strong at the finish that day, suggesting this step up in trip could bring out the improvement required for her to go one better. Ballygelly completes the shortlist in a first-time tongue-tie.

This step up in trip promises to suit FOLLOWANGO and she is taken to open her hurdles account at the third attempt. Next on the list is Ask Lileen, who looks sure to build on her debut effort in this sphere at Fontwell where she was returning from 18 months off, while Moonlit Potter holds solid claims judged on what she showed at Huntingdon last month.

Ask Lileen makes some appeal but FOLLOWANGO can benefit from the greater test of stamina than at Chepstow last time out.

14:03 Thurles Handicap Chase 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

THEDANCINGFARRIER put in a much-improved effort when runner-up over further in Cork and is taken to build upon that. He just lost out by half a length after a protracted battle in that beginners' chase and should be more than competitive off a mark of 90 with Liam Quinlan's claim factored in. Top-weight Mcgrath From Clune was a five-length winner when last seen in this sphere over an extended 2m2f here in November. He hasn't been quite as good over flights since, but ought to go well despite a 10lb rise in the weights. Prince Of Air hasn't been running badly in finishing fourth in his last three outings and is certainly in the mix for prize money. Itsalonglongroad handled attritional ground when making all on his penultimate start in Tramore while Port Rashid and Huit Reflets are capable of performing better.

THEDANCINGFARRIER signalled he's ready to end a lengthy losing run when a good second at Cork last time out and holds much the best form on show so gets the vote. Course winner McGrath From Clune rates the main danger to the selection, with last year's victor Added Bonus appealing as the pick of the rest.

THEDANCINGFARRIER(nap) was fourth to Added Bonus in this last year and ran his best race for a while at Cork last time.

14:15 Ayr Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MOONLIGHTER's stamina appeared stretched when weakening inside the final furlong at Chepstow last month. The veteran may be able to build on that fourth-placed effort over this shorter trip and a fourth victory over fences could be imminent. Nine-time course winner Ardera Cross always warrants a second look at this venue and he shouldn't be underestimated having scored over track and trip on his most recent outing, while fellow last-time-out winner Netywell isn't dismissed either.

FIA FUINIDH has taken well to fences and is fancied to build on his second to Ardera Cross over C&D last time and gain a first success in this sphere. William Young's veteran is feared most in his bid to follow up last year's win in this event, with fellow C&D scorers Netywell and Rocco Storm also firmly in the picture.

On the back of wind surgery, FIA FUINIDH is not without hope of reversing recent course placings with the veteran Ardera Cross.

14:25 Lingfield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Last-time-out winners BE AWARE and Dominic's Fault look the standouts in this contest, with a slight preference for the former. Dan Skelton's gelding struck on his debut by just over two lengths at Newbury and, with any amount of improvement to come, he can make it two out of two. As for the latter, he put his previous mishap at Aintree last year well behind him when getting up in the dying strides at Leicester on his latest outing and he could have more to offer. Intrepide Sud is another to consider on his hurdles debut.

BE AWARE had a bit to spare when making a successful start at Newbury three weeks ago, so he's preferred to Yellow Star, who showed plenty when third in a juvenile at Kempton last month. Dominic's Fault also has the potential for better.

Yellow Star ran with great credit at Kempton but BE AWARE had a copybook introduction to hurdles at Newbury and can defy a penalty.

14:33 Thurles Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The 114-rated CLONSHIRE RIVER has to be respected in this company. He actually moved into a threatening position in the straight in a much better race at Leopardstown over Christmas before weakening out of contention before the final flight. His back form also reads well in the context of this race. Glendine Billy's fourth place in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel is one of the more meaningful pieces of form on offer. That run can be seen in a better light after the horse a place in front of him came out and finished second in a Punchestown maiden hurdle. On Your Way made some late progress for sixth on debut at Limerick and could get closer in this field.

CLONSHIRE RIVER made a pleasing return in a deep Leopardstown handicap over Christmas and can land this weak maiden. Glendine Billy and Stagecoach Mary are feared.

This looks like a weak race, and \CLONSHIRE RIVER\p will be hard to beat if producing a display in keeping with his 114 official rating.

14:45 Ayr Handicap Chase (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

INDIAN LOUIS proved a different proposition when making all on his handicap/chase debut at Musselburgh on New Year's Day. A 5lb rise for that first victory looks far from insurmountable and Lucinda Russell's six-year-old should take all the beating. Knocknagappagh posted a solid second on her return to handicap company at Punchestown last time and the Getaway mare is feared most with Brian Hughes aboard, while Artic Row still looks to have more to offer in this sphere as well.

INDIAN LOUIS looked a natural switched to chasing at Musselburgh last time and he's fancied to follow up with the potential for a good deal more improvement. Artic Row is a big threat and Knocknagappagh has been running well in Ireland of late.

Preference is for ARTIC ROW, who was quite impressive over C&D in December and remains lightly raced over fences.

15:00 Lingfield Handicap Chase (Class 3) 29f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

MOVETHECHAINS comfortably secured victory by seven lengths in this grade over C&D last month and he was hit with a 9lb rise for that success. Considering his superiority over his rivals that day, he could be the one to beat again. Jubilee Express was well beaten in third at Exeter last time, but he has been dropped 1lb for that and that could bring him into contention. Of the remainder, Grove Road makes the most appeal after his third at Uttoxeter.

A few with chances but Gary Moore's MOVETHECHAINS goes really well round here and is weighted to go close on the back of his resurgent C&D success. Head And Heart rates a big danger stepping up in trip, with the unexposed chaser Grove Road another who can have a say in a competitive event.

The striking course record of MOVETHECHAINS earns him the vote, although Head And Heart could be dangerous upped in trip.

15:08 Thurles Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

KINGS HILL was an eye-catcher when keeping on for fourth in a massive field at Leopardstown over Christmas. The winner of that race is very well regarded, so to finish just over three lengths behind him could prove to be more than decent form. Muhtaluza is in good hands and is highly likely to improve upon a sixth place on debut at Punchestown. Cappucino has been placed in three bumpers and a maiden hurdle, and should be well involved, while point-to-point winner Littlebiggie has finished runner-up in a bumper and a maiden hurdle albeit beaten a fair way in both. Newcomer Snugsborough Chime was very cheaply bought, but is a brother to a horse that has won twice over hurdles in Britain. The ground would be a concern for Tipperary bumper winner Crooked Tannie.

KINGS HILL was much improved when fourth at Leopardstown 7 weeks ago and the Supreme entry is hard to get away from here. Cappucino and Littlebiggie are feared.

The one to beat is Cheltenham entry KINGS HILL after an excellent run in a good Leopardstown maiden hurdle

15:20 Ayr Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MYRETOWN finished 12 lengths clear of the third on his hurdles debut over 2m last month and he would have learnt a great deal from that experience. Lucinda Russell's gelding now takes a step up in distance and he could prove very hard to beat. President Scottie has shown ability on each of his starts over timber, including when filling the runner-up berth over C&D last time, and he has to be considered. Of the remainder, Annaghbeg appeals most after his fourth at Down Royal.

PRESIDENT SCOTTIE looked a winner in waiting when a fine second over C&D last time so is taken to edge out Lucinda Russell's Myretown, who also appeals as a good prospect on the back of his own promising runner-up effort here last month. Annaghbeg has the form to play a part too while fellow Irish raider Plumbago is not without interest on his hurdling bow and worth a market check.

Myretown can improve but ANNAGHBEG sets a pretty good standard if judged on the form of his first two hurdle runs.

15:35 Lingfield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A sedate gallop proved no barrier for MAJOR FORTUNE, who stayed on well to complete a double at Hereford last month. There looks to be more to come from Dan Skelton's gelding and he could make light work of a 6lb rise in the ratings. The returning Bampton Star is a potential fly in the ointment on his handicap bow, as a mark of 85 looks workable judged on last season's efforts in defeat, while Barncroft also makes some appeal now upped in trip.

BAMPTON STAR is an appealing alternative to the hat-trick seeking Major Fortune, for all that the latter is clearly going the right way and isn't passed over lightly. The selection is surely capable of a good deal better than he showed in maiden/novice company last term and makes his handicap debut off what could turn out to be a handy mark. Barncroft should also be on the premises, provided he is able to build on his improved effort at Uttoxeter.

This is all about MAJOR FORTUNE (nap) who looked to have more to come as a stayer when winning over 3m2f at Hereford last month.

15:43 Thurles Maiden Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ST CUTHBERT'S CAVE returned lame so had valid excuses for his December pulled up run and contests a weak maiden. A Kelso bumper winner in May prior to selling for 150,000 pounds, he ran very well when conceding 8lb and finishing third to two capable types at Fairyhouse subsequently. Reported to be 'lame on the off hind and to have a superficial wound on the off fore pastern' at Clonmel, he should concede weight and win. Our Boy Rocky showed promise at Limerick over Christmas and might finish second. Debut point-to-point winner Roxhill Roise was well beaten in a recent maiden hurdle but had previously shown bumper form while stablemate Hollow Rodger steps up from winning an ordinary mares maiden point-to-point last month. Toor Khov disappointed in a Leopardstown Christmas bumper but had previously been placed in three bumpers.

A thin maiden and a good chance for ST CUTHBERT'S CAVE to open his account over hurdles if all is well. Our Boy Rocky is feared most ahead of point-winner Hollow Rodger.

The one to beat looks like ST CUTHBERT'S CAVE whose last run can be forgiven. He made a good debut at Fairyhouse in November

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

TEESCOMPONENTSTRIG produced a highly encouraging display to hit the crossbar in a class 3 event at Newcastle last time and he was only put up 2lb for that effort. The son of Black Sam Bellamy takes a drop in grade and he has similar conditions to contend with in first-time blinkers, which could eke out the improvement needed to score. Lady In The Park got up by half a length to shed her maiden tag under Rules at Wetherby on Boxing Day and she makes plenty of appeal on handicap debut, while Cream Of The West is another to consider after his success here last time.

TEESCOMPONENTSTRIG proved he's as good as ever when second to a subsequent winner at Newcastle last month and is the percentage call to go one better in a change of headgear back down in grade. Shoeshine Boy is sure to be in the thick of the action if bouncing back from a poor run at Haydock, with handicap-debutante Lady In The Park and the lighty-raced Cream of The West completing the shortlist.

Second to a revitalised subsequent winner last month, TEESCOMPONENTSTRIG (nap) still looks well handicapped after a 2lb nudge.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A 3lb rise in the handicap for last month's Chepstow scorer Kingofthewest is unlikely to prevent a bold follow-up bid, with this extra yardage appearing in the eight-year-old's favour. However, the stoutly-bred CLONAKILTY has been largely campaigned over two miles and he could unlock enough improvement on this rise in distance to open his account in this sphere. Olly Murphy's inmate edges the vote, with fellow in-form rivals Grizzly James and Couldbeaweapon also entering the reckoning.

KINGOFTHEWEST opened his chasing account at Chepstow last time and a 3 lb rise doesn't look sufficient to prevent another bold showing from David Pipe's 8-y-o. Plumpton third Grizzly James is also weighted to have a big say, with the unexposed Clonakilty another who commands plenty of respect.

It's late in the season for TEA AND CHATS to go over fences but this low-mileage 7yo is bred for it and he showed promise as a hurdler.

16:15 Thurles Handicap Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TOOR MOON is a 16-race maiden but has found his level in handicaps in recent times. Proven on testing ground and at similar distances, he is race-fit and finished ahead of subsequent winner Buachaillbocht at Tramore last month. Lily's Choice ran ok when well beaten into third at Fairyhouse last month and has claims racing from 1lb lower and, notably, under a 7lb claimer. 10-year-old mare Seangoell has been well beaten twice this term but has claims on her best from from last season. Another Nightmare won in September but pulled up recently while Rising Dust has some bits of form. One And Only has been well beaten in all his runs but showed some promise at Down Royal in December and steps up in distance on handicap debut. Similarly Brogue Man River steps up markedly in distance having shown little in four previous hurdle runs at two miles. Point-to-point winner Colline Fleurie has yet to show hurdles form.

TOOR MOON hasn't looked the most straightforward, but he ran up to his best when runner-up at Tramore on New Year's Day and a reproduction of that form could be enough to see him get off the mark. Lily's Choice ran well back in this sphere at Fairyhouse recently and needs considering, along with Brogue Man River, who could improve now upped appreciably in distance.

About as weak a handicap hurdle as you will find. TOOR MOON has had a lot of opportunities but this may be his best yet

16:24 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CHURCHELLA didn't appear to stay the trip when running over an extended 2m last time and dropping back to this distance should suit, having scored comfortably over C&D in September. The daughter of Churchill has been a revelation on the all-weather and she is preferred to the likes of Southwell winner Rose Light and Polar Princess, who has gone close on her last two outings but remains a maiden through 10 starts.

The vote goes to CHURCHELLA, who boasts a solid record on the all-weather and pulled nicely clear of the rest when chasing home strong stayer Ney upped to 16.5f at Southwell last week. She's very appealing off the same mark back down in trip here. Polar Princess will surely get her head in front before long and she is likely to emerge as the main threat ahead of Rose Light.

Her first run at 1m3f on Tapeta worked well for ROSE LIGHT last time and the extra furlong seems likely to suit as well.

16:30 Ayr Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Narrowly denied the hat-trick at Kelso last month, DEEP CHARM should be well suited by going back up in trip and conditions should not inconvenience as he looks to overcome a 4lb rise. The son of Kayf Tara gets the vote ahead of the capable Post Chaise and the unexposed Artic Breeze, who ran well on his first start for last year's winning trainer at Market Rasen. Others to note include Camp Belan, Gipsy Lee Rose and Skyhill.

Several to consider in this competitive handicap with POST CHAISE taken to defy top-weight. The form of his latest start in this sphere looks solid and he has subsequently performed with credit over hurdles. Deep Charm's jumping hasn't always been foot-perfect but he's hard to knock judged on recent form and is feared most. Cowboy Cooper is also respected, along with Baron Briggs and Camp Belan.

Top of the list is BARON BRIGGS, who recovered well from some slow jumps on the first circuit to finish third on his latest outing.

16:40 Lingfield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A subsequent wind procedure may have done JUST OVER LAND the world of good having faltered into fourth over an extended 2m3f at Chepstow in November. A return to 2m looks ideal and a breakthrough could be on the cards for Sam Thomas' charge. Although the hat-trick seeking Goguenard is now 8lb higher than his most recent victory at Catterick, he still warrants respect. Uncle Arthur has a hood/tongue-tie combination applied as he attempts to bounce back from a Musselburgh tumble.

Having shaped well on reappearance, JUST OVER LAND was unsuited by the step up in trip last time, so he's worth a chance to get back on the up over a more suitable distance after a break/breathing operation. Hat-trick seeker Goguenard looks the main threat ahead of Atreides.

There's a suspicion that JUST OVER LAND has yet to do himself justice in handicaps and he's now had wind surgery.

That form was boosted by the winner scoring (and indeed selling for 510,000 euros) subsequently, while more experienced placed-horses had prior form. Willie Mullins runs three, with Coco Masterpiece being interesting despite reappearing following an alarming 666 days absence. A debut point-to-point winner, he chased home a subsequent UK hurdle winner at Loughanmore subsequently, when conceding 5lb, and while he contests this less fashionable bumper, notably reappears in a bumper aged seven, with hurdling being put to one side for now. Ballygunner Castle - related to Yorkhill, Risk Of Thunder and The Listener, is ridden by an experienced UK-based rider while another debutant stablemate Fishery Lane was a 67,000-euro store purchase and is closely related to French winners, although today's jockey didn't ride last year. Le Grand Peinture ran well during Christmas but needs to improve to win.

This seems almost certain to go to one of the Willie Mullins' trio, with 7-y-o COCO MASTERPIECE preferred to Ballygunner Castle and Fishery Lane before market clues. Ned In The Park shaped well first time up at Fairyhouse and is the clear pick of those with bumper form.

COCO MASTERPIECE has taken time to get to the racecourse but represents leading owners and can beat his two stablemates.

16:58 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The drop in trip may not be ideal for PALLAS LORD, but he has been an authoritative winner here over further on two of his last three starts and is taken to continue his excellent form. Runner-up on his two latest visits to Newcastle, Martin's Brig can give the selection most to think about, while Possible Ambition also warrants respect following his victory here on Saturday.

PALLAS LORD is going through a fine spell and, having notched his second win of the campaign at this course 3 days ago, he's worth a chance to defy the penalty in the hope that the race doesn't come too soon. Possible Ambition, also successful here on Saturday, is another one to consider, and Bernie The Bear should give a good account once more.

The trip is queried for all of them but Saturday winner PALLAS LORD has been going great guns of late and he did have C&D form in 2023.

17:04 Ayr NH Flat Race (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Fresh off a double at Naas on Saturday, the Terence O'Brien stable couldn't be in better form and PITWOOD ROAD looks well capable of landing the spoils in this winnable contest. The booking of Brian Hughes looks significant and she may have too much for Golden Point, as well as Roebuck Bay, who has shaped with promise on both career outings. Road To Mallow should be noted for market support as she makes her debut for shrewd connections.

It could be a 1-2 for the Irish with PITWOOD ROAD and Road To Mallow both appealing candidates. The latter is a likely type on paper and it'll be interesting to see how she shapes up in the betting but Pitwood Road is given another chance to build on the abundant promise of her Rules debut second at Tipperary. Visual Impact is third choice ahead of stablemate Golden Point.

Preference is for ROEBUCK BAY who now goes against her own sex after two promising efforts. Pitwood Road is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Bred in the purple being a half-brother to multiple Group 1 winner Palace Pier, MY CLOUD is an intriguing debutant for the Roger Varian stable and owners he has had plenty of success with in recent years. The son of Blue Point gets the vote ahead of Quiet Resolve and Welcome Dream, who sets the standard with an official rating of 81.

WELCOME DREAM surely has races in him and could get off the mark having been gelded since another good run here when last seen 3 months ago. My Cloud is a very interesting newcomer as a half-brother to the top-class miler Palace Pier, while Quiet Resolve can progress further.

Welcome Dream won't go down lightly but QUIET RESOLVE could step forward now tackling 7f for the first time.

18:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Representing the David Thompson yard, CUSACK posted a career-best performance when running out an easy winner here last time. A 5lb penalty may prove of little consequence to the Heeraat gelding and a quickfire double looks a distinct possibility. Leap Day found only an in-form rival too strong over C&D on his latest outing and he could give the selection most to think about, ahead of Enola Grey and Elusive Empire.

The consistent CUSACK showed enough speed when scoring back over a mile here last time to suggest that he will not be unduly inconvenienced by the drop to this trip. He will take some stopping under a penalty. Leap Day is also holding his form well and looks set for another bold show after going close in first-time cheekpieces (retained) over C&D recently. Global Spirit and Novak are others to consider.

Global Spirit should go well but ALEXANDER JAMES will hopefully see more daylight than he did here 11 days ago.

An opening mark of 77 looks fair on his handicap bow and James Fanshawe's gelding could get back on the winning trail in this event. Grant Wood appreciated the step up in distance when scoring over 7f at Southwell in January. A return to this C&D doesn't look an obvious move, but the five-year-old still warrants respect racing off a 5lb higher mark. Sibyl Charm also has the form to be involved.

Having scored here last month, SIBYL CHARM bumped into a well-treated rival when second at Southwell 8 days ago, so she's worth a chance to get back to winning ways. Master Dandy and Dark Side Thunder are feared most.

Kats Bob looks set to go well but TYKE should find this track more to his liking than either Lingfield or Wolverhampton.

19:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BETTER improved for the drop to 6f when scoring easily by three lengths on his handicap bow at Wolverhampton in December and he was hit with an 11lb rise for that victory. George Boughey's gelding could have plenty more to offer on only his fifth career start and he looks the one to beat. The Liegeman sported first-time cheekpieces when hitting the frame in this grade at Chelmsford last month and he is another to note off a 1lb lower rating, while Buzz Box is worth monitoring in the betting on his handicap debut following a victory over 6f here last month.

BETTER took his form up a notch when readily going in on his nursery bow at Wolverhampton and looks weighted to follow up at the chief expense of handicap debutant Buzz Box. Course scorer Moyola appeals as the pick of the remainder for place purposes.

Better won well on his handicap debut but an opening mark of 70 may well underestimate BUZZ BOX (nap)'s potential.

19:30 Newcastle Stakes (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

FANTASY NAVIGATOR had Cubanista (third) behind when bursting through to get up late on by a head in a similar C&D race earlier in the month and, considering the way he went about his business that day, he looks the way to go once more. However, the latter could get a lot closer if he settles better on this occasion. Noble Captain returns to this level after finishing fifth in a class 6 handicap over this C&D and he can do battle for the minor honours, along with Fighting Chance.

A case can be made for a few of these but preference is for BLACKCURRENT who wasn't seen to best effect under an aggressive ride when a recent C&D fourth. Cubanista is feared most on these terms if on his A-game again with C&D winner and their old rival Fantasy Navigator not taken lightly either. Noble Captain completes the shortlist.

He finished behind two of these rivals here nine days ago but there are grounds for thinking BLACKCURRENT may turn the tables tonight.
