Brucio

20/1(+0%)
(12) Brucio 20/1, Showed some ability in bumpers and readily surpassed previous hurdles form when landing 13-runner mares' maiden at Catterick (15.7f) 24 days ago, going on approaching 2 out and cruising clear. Highly likely she can do better again now handicapping.
Easy winner of a maiden at Catterick last month, this looks challenging for handicap debut.

Minx Tiara

18/1(+10%)
(6) Minx Tiara 18/1, Mixed bag over fences during the autumn but got back on track over hurdles when fourth of 13 in handicap hurdle at this course (16f, heavy, 40/1) 39 days ago, travelling as well as any and no extra after last. Each-way claims.
On a long losing run but some encouragement can be taken from her run here at Christmas.

3rd (4) Feet Of A Dancer (11/2 +8%)
Feet Of A Dancer

11/2(+8%)
(4) Feet Of A Dancer 11/2, Progressive mare who, following 4 months off, got back on the up in taking fashion when winning 20-runner handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (19.8f, soft) 64 days ago, leading before last and easing clear. Handicapper has reacted but unlikely she's reached her limit on that evidence.
Two handicap wins have come over further but the likely strong pace should help her cause.

4th (8) Media Naranja (11/1 +56%)
Media Naranja

11/1(+56%)
(8) Media Naranja 11/1, Flat/dual hurdles winner. Ran up to best when fifth of 19 in listed handicap at Fairyhouse (2m) in December. However, needs to dispel a lesser effort at Limerick later that month.
A long way below her best at Limerick last time, previous Fairyhouse fifth was respectable.
5th
5th (2) Risk Belle (3/1 +25%)
Risk Belle

3/1(+25%)
(2) Risk Belle 3/1, Progressive last season and returned better than ever when landing Fairyhouse Grade 3 in December. Well backed, far from disgraced when third in Leopardstown Gr. 3 (20f) since and she's of interest again returned to handicaps/back down in trip.
Drops in class after two Grade 3 runs, solid form in handicaps last season, strong chance.
6th
6th (14) Double Pink (33/1 -65%)
Double Pink

33/1(-65%)
(14) Double Pink 33/1, 7-y-o who showed improved form when doubling her tally over hurdles at Wexford (20f, heavy) in November. Flying too high in Grade 3 company subsequently and whilst this rates more suitable others make more appeal for win purposes.
Was set a stiff task in a Grade 3 event last time, won at Wexford with plenty to spare.
7th
7th (7) Belle The Lioness (20/1 +20%)
Belle The Lioness

20/1(+20%)
(7) Belle The Lioness 20/1, Lightly-raced mare who stepped up markedly on her reappearance run when second of 9 in handicap hurdle at Tramore (16.8f, heavy) 34 days ago, driven before 2 out and keeping on well. Likely she can do better again, including back up in trip.
Improved from her run behind Double Pink at Wexford when second at Tramore, more to do now.

8th (3) Broomfield Bijou (10/1 +29%)
Broomfield Bijou

10/1(+29%)
(3) Broomfield Bijou 10/1, Much-improved last year, landing mares' maiden at Ballinrobe prior to taking big-field handicap hurdle at Punchestown (2m) in April. Not disgraced either outing this term, 6½ lengths third of 6 to Hispanic Moon in listed mares' event (3/1) at Punchestown (18.2f, soft) 70 days ago.
Punchestown festival handicap winner, interesting after two runs in conditions races.
9th
9th (15) Mousey Brown (66/1 -65%)
Mousey Brown

66/1(-65%)
(15) Mousey Brown 66/1, Bumper/fair hurdle winner. Not the most convincing in handful of starts over fences during second half of last year and this a tough enough ask now handicapping in this sphere.
Absent since running twice over fences last September, seems more effective on good going.

10th (13) Innatendue (25/1 -25%)
Innatendue

25/1(-25%)
(13) Innatendue 25/1, Fairly useful hurdler who ran up to her best on her first outing since the spring/back with this trainer when just failing over extended 2m in Cheltenham maiden (16.4f) in November. May have found step back up in trip against her back there 5 weeks ago. Cheekpieces go on now.
Last two runs have been in maidens at Cheltenham, unlikely to make the breakthrough now.
11th
11th (5) Foxy Girl (9/2 -50%)
Foxy Girl

9/2(-50%)
(5) Foxy Girl 9/2, Maiden hurdle winner who shaped well in a first-time hood when third in listed handicap at Down Royal (16.9f) in November. Not seen to best effect when ninth in similar company at Fairyhouse (2m) subsequently and she's worth another chance to prove her mark a workable one.
Suffered interference when favourite at Fairyhouse, better judged on good Down Royal run.
12th
12th (1) Shecouldbeanything (8/1 -14%)
Shecouldbeanything

8/1(-14%)
(1) Shecouldbeanything 8/1, Smart hurdler who posted a career best effort when landing listed handicap at Killarney (17f) in August. Absent since finishing 10¾ lengths fourth of 6 to Hispanic Moon in listed mares' event at Punchestown (18.2f, soft) in November but likely she can bounce back.
Found to have made a respiratory noise last time, big chance on overall form, good claimer.
13th
13th (19) Idol (33/1 -106%)
Idol

33/1(-106%)
(19) Idol 33/1, Low-mileage mare who showed much-improved form when making a winning handicap debut in this sphere at Punchestown (20.3f) 3 weeks ago, edging ahead approaching last and ridden out. Still unexposed and highly likely there's more to come.
Has gone up 10lb for winning on handicap debut but still has to compete from 7lb wrong.
14th
14th (20) Stormalong (66/1 -32%)
Stormalong

66/1(-32%)
(20) Stormalong 66/1, Posted best effort to date when second of 10 in mares' handicap at Clonmel (19.8f) in September. Not in same form either start thereafter and likely she'll prove vulnerable to a few back in handicaps.
Still a maiden after ten starts over hurdles, 7lb out of the handicap, up against it.
15th
15th (17) Je T'ai Porte (66/1 -65%)
Je T'ai Porte

66/1(-65%)
(17) Je T'ai Porte 66/1, Fair winning hurdler who was in process of running below form when unseating last at Bellewstown in August. Offered little sent chasing back from 5 months off at Fairyhouse (2m) 11 days ago and others make greater appeal now returning to timber.
Should be better for a recent run over fences but chance is not obvious, good 5lb claimer.
16th
16th (10) Splashing Out (12/1 -50%)
Splashing Out

12/1(-50%)
(10) Splashing Out 12/1, Fairly useful hurdler who opened her account in mares' handicap hurdle at Limerick (2m, heavy) in November. Arguably should have followed up in novice company back at that venue a month later and not out of things from career-high mark.
Has been hit with an aggregate 11lb rise for two Limerick runs, may remain competitive.

A Law Of Her Own

Natural Look

18/1(-13%)
(16) Natural Look 18/1, Dual hurdles winner who got off the mark over fences at Galway (22.5f) in October. Similar form when third in Navan listed handicap hurdle in December and she ought to give another good account.
Won a handicap chase at Galway in October, third behind a progressive hurdler on latest.

Belle Of Annandale

28/1(+15%)
(18) Belle Of Annandale 28/1, Has done well switched to hurdles for this yard, winning maiden/novice events at Perth/Musselburgh last year. Remained in form since (latest run on Flat best excused) but she can ill-afford a sloppy round of jumping in this field. Blinkers on.
Well exposed Flat maiden, winner of two of her five starts over hurdles, others preferred.

12:40 Leopardstown Handicap Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Foxy Girl shouldn't be judged too harshly on her ninth-placed finish in a similar contest at Fairyhouse in December having been hampered and losing all chance at the last. The six-year-old isn't taken lightly, but SHECOULDBEANYTHING makes slightly more appeal. Gordon Elliott's charge has some useful form in the book and she may find that the addition of a first-time tongue-tie unlocks some improvement, with Danny Gilligan's 5lb claim of value too. Although the progressive Feet Of A Dancer faces her stiffest assignment to date, the Authorized mare may not have reached her ceiling just yet.

Having shaped well when third on return/handicap debut, FOXY GIRL was better than she could show when finishing midfield in a big-field Fairyhouse handicap in December, left poorly placed as the tempo lifted and badly hampered late on. She's worth another chance to confirm her mark a workable one, with Risk Belle, Feet of A Dancer and Belle The Lioness others to consider. Shecouldbeanything is another not out of things.

Philip Dempsey has run BROOMFIELD BIJNOU in two conditions race this term and has managed to protect a mark which she may now exploit

13:00 Lingfield Stakes (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CHARLATAN got off the mark in handicap company over a mile at Kempton a couple of weeks ago and that form gives the unexposed four-year-old a big chance at this level. Twistaline won a similar race to this at Southwell on Tuesday and has to be of interest, despite having to concede weight all round. Thoughtful Gift and United Force are others to consider.

CHARLATAN pulled clear with the runner-up when off the mark at Kempton 2 weeks ago and this unexposed sort is fancied to follow up. Thoughtful Gift and Twistaline are feared most.

Lightly raced 5yo mare THOUGHTFUL GIFT is taken to build on her latest effort and go one better. Charlatan is feared most.

13:10 Leopardstown Maiden Chase 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

GAELIC WARRIOR has taken to chasing exceptionally well with a bloodless victory at Punchestown followed by success at the highest level in the Faugheen at Limerick. The minor concern is his habit to jump right at times, but the six-year-old has appeared to be more tractable over fences, especially last time, and is taken to confirm his superiority as the leading novice chaser at Closutton. That said, his stable companions Fact To File and Grangeclare West were both impressive here over Christmas and the former, who went straight over fences as opposed to going down the novice hurdle route, seems the more likely to give the selection a race.

Willie Mullins holds a strong hand and FACT TO FILE and Gaelic Warrior are hard to split. The former was so impressive here last time that he takes marginal preference, however, while Grangeclare West, another representative of the same stable, must be respected.

The Mullins runners stand out. GAELIC WARRIOR has effortlessly impressed in races at Punchestown and Limerick and sets the standard

13:20 Musselburgh Conditions Hurdle (Class 1) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

2-2 over hurdles so far, and already a winner at this level, the progressive LIARI is hard to oppose in his bid to complete a three-timer. The Paul Nicholls-trained French import is a possible for the Triumph Hurdle next month and another bold bid here can only enhance his claims. An Bradan Feasa had three lengths to spare over runner-up Balboa when he won at Cheltenham in December and poses a big threat to the selection. Dual C&D winner Rory The Cat is the pick of the rest.

LIARI gets the nod to remain unbeaten over hurdles and provide Paul Nicholls with a fourth win in this listed race since 2016, but there are a few possible threats, headed by An Bradan Feasa, Roaring Legend and Balboa.

Nicholls-trainer LIARI won a Listed event on heavy going but surely does not need the ground that testing. He looks very promising.

13:32 Lingfield Handicap (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The consistent Artisan Dancer has to be respected following his deserved win over an extended 1m4f at Newcastle recently. That said, a 5lb rise could leave the four-year-old vulnerable and preference is for APPARATE, who ran well in some competitive events last season and he could prove to be a class above these rivals. Others to note are Red Flyer and Spartan Army.

BARENBOIM hinted at a revival when eighth at Southwell last time so this course winner is taken to capitalise on a reduced mark at the chief expense of recent Newcastle scorer Artisan Dancer. In-form pair Moliwood and Red Flyer both need factoring into this competitive handicap too.

The drop back in grade may enable BARENBOIM to stage a revival. Red Flyer is second choice.

13:40 Leopardstown Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BALLYBURN impressed when winning a maiden hurdle by 25 lengths over 2m4f here just after Christmas and rates a horse who is going places. That was a marked improvement from the gelding's hurdling debut, and this drop in trip is only a slight concern given the comprehensive manner of that performance. Farren Glory was in front when falling two out in the Formby at Aintree 40 days ago but could bounce back if that awkward landing hasn't left any mental scars. On the back of his Navan Grade 2 success, Slade Steel is no back number either.

The Willie Mullins domination of this Grade 1 novice looks set to continue courtesy of BALLYBURN, who had next-time winners toiling in his wake in a maiden here at the Christmas meeting. Farren Glory looked set to land his second Grade 1 of the winter until crashing out at the second last at Aintree and is feared most ahead of Navan Grade 2 winner Slade Steel.

The proven Grade 1 performer here is FARREN GLORY, winner of the Royal Bond and travelling like the winner when falling at Aintree

13:50 Musselburgh Handicap Chase (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

BOLLINGERANDKRUG was handed a stiff task in a deeper race at Newbury on his most recent start but, now dropped down a grade, he can have a bigger impact. Admittedly, the gelding is a Kelso specialist, having won twice over hurdles and four times over fences at that venue. However, he is also a tough nut to crack on a going day and is taken to outmanoeuvre Beau Balko, who is respected but was let down by his jumping latest. Cedar Hill completes the shortlist.

A fairly useful winner over hurdles, BEAU BALKO hasn't quite matched that level in 3 starts over fences so far, but he still remains capable of better as a chaser having made a bad mid-race mistake (jumped fine otherwise) at Hereford last time. He is taken to go one better, with Cedar Hill feared most with his recent run behind him. Mint Gold is also considered.

The most appealing option is BEAU BALKO, who recovered from a calamitous mid-race jumping error to finish second on his latest outing.

TWILIGHT MADNESS, a C&D winner two starts ago, was only beaten a neck when second over 5f at Chelmsford on Thursday and he should be hard to beat off the same mark here. Laheg was also narrowly denied on his most recent outing and could prove to be the main threat, although King Cabo and Incrimination must not be underestimated on their returns.

LAHEG has been given a chance by the handicapper and ran well on the back of 8 months off latest start when third in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago, that despite a poor start. He earns the vote to confirm the promise of that run, with the returning pair Incrimination and King Cabo heading the dangers.

Preference is for LAHEG (nap), ahead of Twilight Madness. Incrimination and Whenthedealinsdone are interesting types.

Star chaser EL FABIOLO had little difficulty of dispatching his rivals when landing the Grade 2 Hilly Way on his seasonal debut at Cork in December. Willie Mullins' speedster is hard to oppose on his current upward trajectory and he can complete a fourth Grade 1 victory over fences en route to the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham next month. The selection's stablemate Dinoblue impressed when landing a Grade 1 over C&D over Christmas and may put up most resistance, ahead of Captain Guinness.

In the absence of stablemate Energumene EL FABIOLO is very much the one to beat in the 2m chase division this season and he should have too much for his 4 rivals here. Dinoblue can fill the forecast spot.

Unbeaten chaser EL FABIOLO should have little difficulty in cementing his position as Champion Chaser-elect

TITANIUM MOON absolutely breezed through a series of challenges to register four wins on the bounce last year. Having gone well fresh in the past, the Donald McCain-trained mare still has untapped potential and, given she is favoured by the weights, could be hard to beat if picking up where she left off last summer. Irish raider Hypotenus has been highly tried since winning a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park last September but cannot be ruled out now dropped in class. Panjari completes the shortlist.

Cases can be made for most, but preference is for RECOUP, who pulled well clear with a subsequent winner on his yard/hurdling debut at Ludlow back in October and Fergal O'Brien's 5-y-o should have plenty more to offer in this sphere. Titanium Moon wasn't hard pressed to make it 4 novice wins in a row when last seen at Stratford 6 months ago, so she's put forward as the main danger, ahead of Hypotenus, who is clearly talented but needs to learn to jump better.

Ex-French Flat winner RECOUP is taken to follow up his Ludlow win. Titanium Moon and Hypotenus are feared most.

STATE MAN and Impaire Et Passe met over C&D at the Christmas meeting and the former, who took this prize 12 months ago, ran out a ready three-and-a-quarter-length winner, doing so with his usual understated dominance. With that in mind, Paul Townend's mount is expected to confirm those placings en route to another mouthwatering clash with Constitution Hill at Prestbury Park next month. Bob Olinger has looked much more like his old self and landed the Relkeel over an extended 2m4f at Cheltenham on New Year's Day, although even on his best form, he still has a lot to find to trouble the selection.

STATE MAN has found only the mighty Constitution Hill too good in his last ten outings and took this prize 12 months ago so is hard to oppose. Stablemate Impaire Et Passe chased home the selection in the Matheson over C&D last time and again rates second best ahead of Bob Olinger and Echoes In Rain.

15:00 Musselburgh Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Grade 1 runner-up ABSOLUTE NOTIONS' current mark of 143 may underestimate his true ability and he could have too much class on this first foray into handicap company. Smart Flat performer Almuhit catches the eye at the foot of the weights and sustained market support for Emmet Mullins' charge now upped in distance would bring the five-year-old into calculations. Springwell Bay and last-time-out winners Curley Finger and Imaginary Dragon are worthy of consideration too.

A case can be made for plenty of these but Gordon Elliott's ABSOLUTE NOTIONS appeals as a likely improver now going into handicaps so is fancied to follow up his Fairyhouse success after a break. Fellow Irish challenger Carnfunnock figures on a handy-looking mark so must enter calculations, while a solid case can also be made for Doncaster-victor Peking Rose and C&D winner Wakool.

Irish challengers Absolute Notions and ALMUHIT catch the eye in a major way. Imaginary Dragon is also shortlisted.

15:12 Lingfield Listed (Class 1) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

ANNAF capped off a fruitful campaign with a victory in the Bengough Stakes at Ascot in October, having previously landed the Portland, and the King's Stand third can successfully concede weight to his rivals now eased in class. Coachello may have found that his fifth-placed finish at Kempton came too soon, just four days on from a Newcastle triumph. Gordon Elliott's raider could give the selection most to think about, ahead of Willem Twee and Diligent Harry.

DILIGENT HARRY was narrowly denied by Annaf in this 12 months ago but meets Mick Appleby's charge on 5 lb better terms this time and, from a good draw, might be able to turn the tables with Ryan Moore taking the reins on him for the first time. The progressive William Twee is another who should play a prominent role in a good renewal of this listed prize.

Armed with a 5lb pull, last year's runner-up DILIGENT HARRY could well go one better and reverse placings with Annaf.

15:20 Leopardstown Handicap Chase 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

JAMES DU BERLAIS ran a fine race in defeat when fourth to Meetingofthewaters in the Paddy Power Chase here over 3m and the eight-year-old, who is 14lb better off with his stablemate, boasts strong credentials in his attempt to reverse the form, especially now dropping in trip. Inothewayurthinkin has shown promise on all three chase starts and warrants plenty of respect on his handicap debut, while similar comments apply to Heart Wood. Others for the shortlist include Indiana Jones, Perceval Legallois and Adamantly Chosen.

CLASSIC GETAWAY was unable to land the odds in a Grade 3 at Tramore on New Year's Day but he went like the best horse at the weights before seemingly stretched by conditions so is well worth another chance off what looks a fair opening mark. This is typically competitive, though, with Meetingofthewaters and Heart Wood heading the dangers.

The one to beat could be PERCEVAL LEGALLOIS, effectively running off his hurdles mark here, though he needs to jump better than last time

15:35 Musselburgh Handicap Chase (Class 2) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

TOMMY'S OSCAR was far from disgraced when fourth in the Old Roan at Aintree in late October. The son of Oscar is unexposed over this extended 2m4f trip and December's spin over hurdles at Doncaster should have put him spot on for this. Thunder Rock boasted a progressive profile prior to his latest flop at Cheltenham and the eight-year-old is feared most, ahead of an in-form Outlaw Peter.

The classy TOMMY'S OSCAR often keep better company than this and has looked better than ever over fences this season, so can defy top weight. Frero Banbou lost all chance with a bad blunder at Lingfield 2 weeks ago and remains of interest, while Corrigeen Rock surely has more to offer over this trip after his good second over C&D on New Year's Day.

In a competitive race preference is for CORRIGEEN ROCK who may be able to step up on his C&D second last time. Outlaw Peter is next.

15:45 Lingfield Handicap (Class 2) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

WORLD OF DARCY was well beaten in Group 3 and Listed company either side of a novice-race victory at Nottingham towards the back end of last season. However, in a handicap for the first time and now gelded, he is fancied to get his three-year-old campaign off to a flyer. The hat-trick seeking Blue Prince rates as the main danger, even though he finds himself on a career-high mark. Brave Empire also warrants consideration, but he needs to bounce back from a laboured comeback at Newcastle.

BLUE PRINCE had 2 of today's rivals behind when scoring at Newcastle on New Year's Day and looks up to completing a hat-trick from a 4 lb higher mark. Brave Empire was beaten at short odds in the contest but was returning from a 6-month absence and remains of interest from a mark in the mid-90s, whilst Roman Emperor built on his novice win with a sound effort in a C&D handicap last time and also merits respect.

John Ryan holds a robust hand with the improving ROMAN EMPEROR and interesting World Of Darcy.

15:50 Leopardstown Handicap Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SO SCOTTISH was still going well when falling four out in the December Gold Cup at Cheltenham on his most recent outing. It would be no surprise to see the seven-year-old bounce back to winning ways now switched to hurdles off a comparatively lenient mark. Little separated An Tobar and Bialystok when third and fourth in the Royal Bond and both have to be respected. Magical Zoe is another with strong form claims, with the shortlist completed by Zenta and Common Practice.

MAGICAL ZOE arrives on the up and looks to have got in lightly for her handicap bow so Henry de Bromhead's mare edges the vote. So Scottish reverts to hurdles having come down late when still going well at Cheltenham last time and s next on the list with in-form pair Bialystok and Common Practice along with C&D scorer Ataboycharlie also in the mix in this highly competitive event.

Preference is for the unexposed ATABOYCHARLIE(nap), up 9lb for winning a competitive handicap here at Christmas with more likely to come

16:05 Musselburgh Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A step up in trip saw DUYFKEN return to the winner's enclosure over C&D last month when getting the better of Lihyan, and Nick Alexander's gelding appears to be capable of backing that performance up. The aforementioned Lihyan is expected to be in the mix once again, while others who are likely to be competitive include Welsh Charger and Sleeping Satellite.

Plenty to ponder in an interesting handicap with SLEEPING SATELLITE earning the vote. Donald McCain's 6-y-o showed improved form when runner-up at Doncaster last month, finding only another well-treated sort too strong, and this longer trip could well unlock further progress. Impact du Bonheur needs considering also for Paul Nicholls, with Welsh Charger and recent C&D 1-2 Duyfken and Lihyan completing the shortlist.

There is surely more improvement to come from last-time-out winners WELSH CHARGER (nap) and Duyfken.

16:17 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MAKE CLEAR came agonisingly close to making all over C&D last week, only finding an in-form rival a neck too good. Nudged up just 1lb, she should make a solid fist of trying to go gate to wire from a handy stall. Red Walls warrants consideration, although he scrambled home in a 6f classified event at this course recently, and the suspicion is the handicapper may have him where he wants for the time being. Royal Agent makes her handicap debut for her astute stable and is worth a look.

This can go to MAKE CLEAR, who bounced back to form when caught close home over C&D last week and, nudged up just 1 lb for that near miss, Robert Cowell's filly can open her account at the expense of Red Walls, who has hit the target 3 times already this winter and looks sure to go well returned to handicap company. Victors Dream and handicap-debutante Royal Agent can fight out third.

On the back of a good C&D effort, MAKE CLEAR could well go one better and open her account. Victors Dream is second choice.

16:25 Leopardstown NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

AURORA VEGA hasn't been seen since September, but she won a Listed event at Gowran fairly comfortably and is now 3-3. As short as 14/1 for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham next month, Willie Mullins' charge is expected to take all of the beating. Stable companions Baby Kate, who impressed at Cheltenham in November, and easy Thurles winner Femme Magnifique also command respect for the yard which was responsible for last year's winner Fun Fun Fun. In the famous double green silks this year, the Stuart Crawford-trained Mongibello could be a bit of value for those looking to take on the Mullins brigade following her bloodless Down Royal victory.

AURORA VEGA has looked something out of the ordinary to date and is fancied to get the better of her stablemate Femme Magnifique, who cruised to success at Thurles on her Rules debut. Mongibello's form has substance and she looks the pick of those that aren't in the care of Willie Mullins.

Willie Mullins may well dominate but an each-way bet on Limerick winner BARNAHASH PRIMROSE is suggested as a more adventurous option

16:35 Musselburgh NH Flat Race (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Getagin justified favouritism when making a winning start under Rules over C&D in December and is likely to be popular once again. However, he may struggle to successfully give 4lb to WICKED THOUGHTS, who finished third at Ffos Las on his first run for Paul Nicholls, having won a point-to-point last April. The son of Mahler is expected to have come forward from that initial experience, while Kinbara Hills and Alkaid are a pair of newcomers who could make an impact.

WICKED THOUGHTS was a little underwhelming at Ffos Las 112 days ago but he's open to plenty of improvement based on his point form, so he's marginally preferred to Getagin, who has a penalty for his C&D success. Kinbara Hills is the pick of the newcomers.

Ditcheat runner WICKED THOUGHTS is given another chance. Course winner Getagin is second choice.

17:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The hat-trick seeking Petit Calvados has to be respected following victories at Wolverhampton and Chelmsford, but marginal preference is for GULLIVER. David O'Meara's veteran was a close-up fourth in a competitive event at Chelmsford two weeks ago and another good run can be expected off a 1lb lower mark. Mighty Power edged out Secret Guest over C&D recently and they have to enter the equation as well.

SECRET GUEST soon bounced back to form when denied only narrowly at this C&D last time and he can return to winning ways with a strongly-run race to suit. He is taken to reverse the placings with Mighty Power from when the pair met here 19 days ago, while Petit Calvados has thrived since the cheekpieces have gone back on and completes the shortlist.

He normally runs over further but THE TURPINATOR was a creditable fourth in a valuable C&D contest last month and gets the nod.

17:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

In a wide-open event, the vote just goes to the unexposed AIM FOR THE MOON, who was only beaten a length into third over this trip at Kempton last time and can race off the same mark here. Once Adaay is an obvious threat following his success at Chelmsford two weeks ago, while surprise C&D scorer Sycamore is also dangerous. Others to consider are Tio Mio, Mercurius Power and Urban Road.

Having been relatively lightly raced in the last year or so, SYCAMORE bounced back to form when scoring over C&D just over 2 weeks ago and, on the back of a small rise in the weights, Scott Dixon's 7-y-o is taken to follow up at the expense of Cusack, who is more consistent than most at this level. Aim For The Moon and Tio Mio are another couple fancied to go well, also.

This looks well contested. Recent course winner URBAN ROAD could be the answer with the drop back to 1m of no concern.

18:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

JUICY only just failed to follow up her debut victory when second at Chelmsford last time, and both of those performances suggest that a mark of 78 should be workable so Richard Spencer's filly could take some stopping. The consistent Moon Flight is likely to be in the mix once again, while Night On Earth and Dark Kestrel also make the shortlist.

A competitive sprint. KHABIB has a really solid AW record and might be able to get his head back in front. Unexposed-pair Juicy and Quandary are obvious dangers, while Moon Flight and Dark Kestrel are also respected after good runner-up efforts over C&D last month.

The 4yo MOON FLIGHT (nap) travelled like a well-handicapped horse last time when paying the price for racing close to a strong pace.

18:30 Newcastle Stakes (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Denied by just a neck on his belated debut over 7f here 13 days ago, PARTHENOPAEUS created a favourable impression and can go one place better, with the longer trip likely to suit the son of Pivotal. There should also be more to come from Waleefy who, like the selection, dwelt at the start on his first outing but ought to be wiser for the experience. Course maiden winner Tournelle is another to consider now upped in distance.

WALEEFY is from an outstanding family and showed plenty of ability in a stop-start contest at Lingfield on debut, so he's taken to make his second start a winning one. Tournelle made a fine start to her career when landing a 7f maiden here last month and merits plenty of respect under a penalty, whilst Juddmonte-newcomer Las Ramblas also makes appeal.

An interesting novice but Baaeed's half-brother WALEEFY was a big eyecatcher on his debut at Lingfield and could take some stopping.

19:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 3) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Ultra-tough, The Caltonian is shortlisted despite his winning spree coming to an end with a comprehensive defeat inflicted by an improving rival in an apprentice handicap here last weekend. However, JOHNNY JAMES is far less exposed than the majority and looks worth chancing from a potentially competitive mark. Keep an eye on Oliver Show too.

Lots with chances. SWISS ACE caught the eye when fifth over 1m here last time out and looks the way to go now back at 7f. Chantico figures on a handy mark and rates a big threat if, as expected, building on his Wolverhampton seventh. The Caltonian must enter calculations too in this competitive handicap.

The lightly raced OLIVER SHOW was perhaps unlucky not to collect on only his second run for George Boughey and he might be the answer.

19:30 Newcastle Stakes (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SECRET DAAY has been threatening to win a race of this nature of late and has another chance to shine on the back of four placed efforts from his last five starts. He was only a head behind Blackcurrent when they took minor honours in a similar contest over C&D last month and he can turn the form around. Autumn Flight is another to consider.

A weak but open event with the vote going to 6-time course winner BLACKCURRENT, who was a good fourth in a better race than this over C&D 10 days ago. One For The Ladies and Secret Daay head the dangers.

With competition for the early lead likely, this could be run to suit MISS CALCULATION. Several others are considered, though.

20:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HENERY HAWK fairly bolted up over C&D last month and a 9lb rise may not be enough to stop Linda Perratt's charge putting on a show once more. Tilsworth Ony Ta has been nudged up 3lb for a victory at Chelmsford and he was all out to score on that occasion so a bit more will be required to take the gold medal here. This step back down to the minimum trip may help Amber Dew, who just held on over 6f at Southwell.

KING OF THE JUNGLE has found some improvement at a low level of late, landing back-to-back C&D handicaps, proving determined when seeing off re-opposing Urban Dandy by ½ length 19 days ago. He gets the narrow vote to continue the good work and complete the hat-trick. Mehmo and Mrs Trump are others worth a look, whilst Amber Dew isn't dismissed either.

After racing freely when placed over 6f here last month, ENDERMAN looks interesting on his first 5f start since his 2yo season.

20:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

STALLONE kept on well to prevail over C&D last month and, back in handicap company, he may be able to get his head in front once again. Basholo dispatched of a subsequent winner over 5f at Wolverhampton last month and after finishing fifth at Southwell subsequently, she may be able to bounce back to form. The handicapper let Crocodile Power off scot-free after a solid third over 5f at Chelmsford and he can make the frame again.

BONITO CAVALO is thriving and completed a 4-timer here on Friday, Drop in trip shouldn't trouble him. Crocodile Power is one to consider following a strong finish at Chelmsford and Phoenix Star can't be ruled out.

Bonito Cavalo can't be opposed with any confidence but CROCODILE POWER didn't get the best of runs when going close at Chelmsford.
