13:30 Fairyhouse Maiden Chase 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

This looks like a winnable opportunity for SAINTE DONA after some stiff tasks. The Saint des Saints mare was no match for Hauturiere in Grade 2 company at Limerick over Christmas but it was still a good effort to take black type there and this is a drop in class. She has also been second to Potters Party over three miles here in November and her stamina will be an asset in testing conditions. Jumping Jet is another with some solid placed efforts over fences and she looks like a likely danger. The handicapper has Soldaro narrowly the top-rated of those with marks and she is another for the shortlist having been third here on her last visit. Jumping has been an issue with her, though.

JUMPING JET has bumped into some useful sorts in her previous chases and might prove the answer to this opening maiden for the Gordon Elliott/Jack Kennedy pairing. Limerick Grade 2 runner-up Sainte Dona is second choice ahead of Soldaro.

A distant third behind a Willie Mullins pair last time, JUMPING JET may prove best in a race in which several have a similar chance

Final Edgar

11/8(+83%)
(4) Final Edgar 11/8, Mid-field both starts in bumpers for Roger McGrath in Ireland last summer. Showed some ability sent hurdling when third of 8 in maiden at this course (19.8f) in January, but beaten a long way out at Catterick 12 days later. Not discounted back here.
Encouraging third here on stable debut and this is a realistic assignment.

Trailblazer

9/2(-80%)
(11) Trailblazer 9/2, Modest maiden on the Flat who finished well held at Newcastle on his hurdles debut. However, shaped better when runner-up in Kelso novice 24 days ago, staying on but no match for the easy winner. Enters calculations.
Runner-up at 150-1 at Kelso and major player if that performance was no one-off.

Oscar Doodle

13:40 Sedgefield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Not the strongest of contests in which a chance can be taken on PARIS LIGHTS. Paul Midgley's new recruit achieved a peak rating of 84 when trained on the Flat, so he would be a threat to all if taking to this new discipline. Arlo sets the standard, albeit not a lofty one, with an official rating of 103, and he looks the most likely danger. Final Edgar is also noted.

A fair hurdler in Ireland, ARLO shaped encouragingly on his stable debut when third at this C&D on his reappearance, so he is taken to leave his subsequent efforts over fences behind and open his account. Trailblazer stepped forward from his hurdles debut when runner-up at Kelso last time and could be the main danger, ahead of Paris Lights.

Preference is for TRAILBLAZER who was a promising second at 150-1 at Kelso last month on his second hurdle start.

(2) Royal Way 10/11, Fair Flat winner in France and made the most of a good opportunity to easily get off the mark at the third time of asking over hurdles in 4-runner juvenile at this C&D (heavy) last month. Looks capable of following up.
Penalised for winning a weak race here but he's coming along nicely.

Ithaca's Arrow

11/2(+15%)
(7) Ithaca's Arrow 11/2, Fairly useful on Flat (stays 1½m), recording creditable placed efforts in handicaps on his last 3 starts. Coped quite well with heavy ground when second of 7 starting out over hurdles at Sandown but failed by a long chalk to match that at Kempton subsequently.
Went close at Sandown and clearly not at his best when tailed off at Kempton.

Palio

13/2(-8%)
(10) Palio 13/2, Fair maiden at up to 1½m on the Flat and translated that ability to hurdles when second at Huntingdon in November, no match for the very talented Burdett Road. Probably unable to cope with conditions in listed event at Aintree last time and now back at a realistic level.
Promising hurdling debut at Huntingdon and heavy ground a valid excuse last time.

(6) Glorious Lion 20/1, Fair maiden on the Flat for James Ferguson but made an inauspicious start over hurdles for his new yard after 4 months off at Chepstow (16f, heavy) 2 weeks ago, sent off second favourite but getting no further than the first. Folly to ignore.

7th (9) Orchestra (3/1 +50%)
Orchestra

3/1(+50%)
(9) Orchestra 3/1, Fairly useful handicapper on Flat for Ed Dunlop. Joined a top stable for his hurdle career and has made a promising start, finishing runner-up on both starts (albeit well beaten at Warwick just over 2 weeks ago). Headgear on for the first time in this sphere and should go well again.
No match for Swift Hawk at Taunton and was beaten a good bit further at Warwick.

Karakoy

20/1(+20%)
(8) Karakoy 20/1, Fair form on Flat, won minor event in 2023, but well held in handicaps last 2 starts. Sold from Harry & Roger Charlton 30,000 gns later in October and he's probably best watched first time up over hurdles.
1m2f novice winner but was poor in his two handicaps; ground might not be ideal here.

13:50 Ludlow Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SWIFT HAWK created a big impression when winning on his hurdling debut at Taunton in December and Paul Nicholls' gelding is hard to oppose on the back of that performance. Ithaca's Arrow failed to fire last time but is a player based on his second at Sandown prior to that. Royal Way is another with strong form claims, while Orchestra and Palio are also noted.

A few in with a squeak but having been a commanding winner over C&D last month, ROYAL WAY is selected to build on that and continue his fine start over hurdles. Swift Hawk left the impression that there's plenty more to come when accounting for Orchestra at Taunton last month, so he's put forward as the main danger, with Palio and Latin Verse (who won on his only previous start when trained by Syd Hosie) rounding off the shortlist.

This should take some winning but SWIFT HAWK beat Orchestra with sufficient authority at Taunton to believe he might follow up.

14:00 Fairyhouse Handicap Chase 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

It was a strong race in which IDEAL DU TARBET was fourth to Falco Blitz at Thurles last time and he looks capable of landing a race off his current mark. The Cian Collins-trained gelding was half a length behind Mount Frisco, who has gone on to win over hurdles since. That race also had three rivals coming into it with last-time-out wins to their names. Where's Frankie was a good winner over a marathon trip of 3m2f here 11 days ago. He has to be respected but a drop in distance and a 9lb hike makes things tougher. Evies Vladimir is holding his form well but has been creeping up the handicap as a result. He's another for the shortlist.

EVIES VLADIMIR is a young chaser heading in the right direction and is the one to beat. Recent course scorer Where's Frankie may provide the chief threat unless the betting vibes are strong surrounding Gordon Elliott's Deployed on his rather belated handicap debut.

This is a weaker race than the one in which IDEal DU TARBET was fourth at Thurles and he gets the vote to score in first-time blinkers

14:10 Sedgefield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Once touted as a Classic prospect, REACH FOR THE MOON has been well below-par on each of his last three starts on the level. Now in the care of Jamie Snowden and sent hurdling, it would come as no surprise were the talented individual to get his career back on track now. Schmilsson finished a decent second at Southwell in December and any further improvement would bring him firmly into the reckoning, while Not Now Tayto is fancied to chase the pair home.

A very shallow contest in which SCHMILSSON is preferred to interesting hurdles newcomer Reach For The Moon, Olly Murphy's gelding clearly inferior to his market rival on the Flat but having improved with each run over hurdles so far and perhaps possessing a more solid profile to one who clearly hasn't been the easiest to get to the track. Badlands Boy is a very modest pick for third.

We haven't seen REACH FOR THE MOON since Royal Ascot but he was smart at his best on the Flat and is an interesting hurdling debutant.

14:20 Ludlow Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Schematic is the pick of those with hurdling experience but the level he sets is not very high. With that in mind, preference is for SOUTH OMO ZONE, who won a bumper at Hereford a few weeks ago and remains open to plenty of improvement. The Grey Man hit the crossbar on his most recent bumper start and is another to consider on his hurdling bow.

Hereford bumper winner SOUTH OMO ZONE might be up to making a successful start to his hurdle career under title-chasing Harry Cobden. Chevington may give him most to do ahead of Jackpot Cash and Schematic.

It may prove best to turn to SOUTH OMO ZONE and The Grey Man after their first and second last time in Hereford bumpers.

Just four go to post here and it looks like a nice opportunity for CORBETTS CROSS. The Gamut gelding was no match for easy winner Grangeclare West in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown over Christmas but remains a nice staying prospect in his own right. He has a few options at Cheltenham next month and this is an ideal prep. His rivals have questions to answer in this. Velvet Elvis won the race last year but pulled up on his sole outing this year. He makes his first start for Gavin Cromwell now. Run Wild Fred also pulled up in the Paddy Power last time but did run well when fifth in the Munster National back in October and would be a big player at anywhere near his best. Eklat De Rire has been lightly raced in recent years and looks best watched.

CORBETTS CROSS has made a positive start to chasing and, up against more exposed rivals, he's fully expected to get back to winning ways. Run Wild Fred and Eklat de Rire could both trouble him on their best form.

This should be relatively straightforward for high-class novice CORBETTS CROSS since his three rivals have questions to answer

GALICE MACALO was able to exploit a drop in class when winning a three-runner contest under Peter Summers last month and a subsequent 4lb rise not be enough to prevent Jane Williams' mare from completing a double. Previous C&D winner You Say Nothing merits respect having hit the woodwork on his latest outing, while Leading Force warrants closer inspection ahead of his chasing bow.

Claims can be made for most here, including previous C&D winner YOU SAY NOTHING, He ran a cracker when runner-up at Chepstow over Christmas and, given some time to get over those exertions, it would come as no surprise to see him firmly in the mix with his yard boasting a particularly good record here. Easy Leicester winner Galice Macalo and Harel du Marais head up the dangers.

Point winner LEADING FORCE has a solid profile over hurdles and could build on that form on today's first chase start.

14:50 Ludlow Handicap Chase (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

BALLYBEGG had plenty in hand when winning by 10 lengths over C&D a month ago and Kerry Lee's gelding merits the utmost respect off just a 6lb higher mark. Galahad Quest was not disgraced on his seasonal return last time and should not be underestimated with that run now under his belt. Demnat was useful when trained in France and has to be of interest on his debut for these connections, despite a 961-day break.

BALLYBEGG boasted a patchy record over hurdles but he's stepped up with each start since returning to chasing this winter, opening his account in good style when taking a 6-runner C&D handicap 33 days ago. With his yard continuing amongst the winners, he could well be worth siding with to back that up from his revised mark. Galahad Quest with his hurdles return under his belt could emerge as the chief threat, ahead of Can You Call.

Ballybeg won by 10l over C&D last month but kept jumping to his left. There's a plausible alternative in GALAHAD QUEST.

15:00 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

LARK IN THE MORNIN was lightly raced on the Flat but showed a good level of ability and has been placed in two of his three starts in this discipline. He takes on older rivals for the first time and his opening mark appears to give him every chance. Miss Pronunciation won twice on testing ground earlier in the winter and returns from a break to bid for a hat-trick. She had Lazer Wolf back in second when scoring at Punchestown in November but that rival, who reopposes on 5lb better terms, may be helped by the fitting of a tongue-tie. Glen Kiln stuck to his task well when chasing home a short-priced favourite over a longer trip here last month and is another to consider.

A low-mileage winner on the Flat, LARK IN THE MORNIN matched the pick of his hurdles form and may well have finished closer still but for a late error when third at Punchestown 23 days ago, noted finishing with running left. Open to further improvement, he's very much of interest in receipt of weight all round. Miss Pronunciation has returned a much-improved model and is a big threat in her hat-trick bid. Lazer Wolf is also in the mix.

PURSE PRICE took a major step forward at Thurles last time and she can continue to progress

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Last-time-out scorer Sawpit Sienna must enter calculations in her current form, although her seventh-placed finish over C&D in early November off a 4lb lower rating does raise a few questions. With that in mind, it may be worth taking a punt on CELESTIAL FASHION. Although Ian Duncan's mare is 4lb out of the handicap, her runner-up effort behind the progressive Sunday Soldier over track and trip last month looks strong form. Parvos and On Cloud Nine have the form to be involved too.

MIDNIGHT SHUFFLE was steadily progressive last season and perhaps still needed the run when third to a big improver at Doncaster 4 weeks ago, so she's given the tentative vote. Taunton scorer Sawpit Sienna is respected up 6 lb, while Purple Gown's Flat form provides hope for better still now handicapping and she also needs considering.

Sandy Thomson's PARVOS was running well before her penultimate-flight mishap at Kelso in December and gets the vote.

C&D winner REGAL RENAISSANCE didn't appear to see out 3m when weakening into second on her most recent outing here in December. The combination of a 2lb lower rating and drop in trip could be enough for Henry Daly's charge to regain the winning thread. Last month's easy Doncaster-scorer Masked Dance is also sure to prove popular and the six-year-old isn't taken lightly, while Bonttay likely has more to offer too.

BONTTAY made a successful reappearance in a good time at Hereford and was still full of running when unseating her rider 2 out at Cheltenham the following month, so she's taken to gain compensation. Masked Dance got off the mark in impressive fashion at Doncaster on her most recent outing and warrants plenty of respect in her follow-up bid despite having a much higher mark to contend with. Sabrina ran up to her best at Wincanton last time and completes the shortlist.

Masked Dance won by a street when making her breakthrough but BONTTAY (nap) can bounce back from her costly unseat at Cheltenham.

15:30 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MORDOR, rated in the mid-70s on the Flat, showed promise on hurdling debut when third at Leopardstown's Christmas meeting. He needs to leave behind a poor run at Punchestown but is taken to bounce back to form in what doesn't look the strongest of maidens. Toll Stone, placed in Flat maidens for Ken Condon, finished ahead of the selection when mid-division at Punchestown. Further improvement could see him involved in the finish. Firebrand ran creditably on both Flat starts in France. He hasn't sparkled at Dundalk for new connections but is an interesting hurdling debutant with Rachael Blackmore in the saddle. Duke Silver, a three-parts brother to useful hurdler San Salvador, is a newcomer to note.

MORDOR showed enough on hurdling debut to think he's capable of winning a race of this nature and, for all that he shaped as if amiss since, he's well worth another chance. Duke Silver is well bred and represents a top yard, so he's regarded as the main threat ahead of Firebrand.

There was plenty to like about MORDOR's 3rd on hurdle debut and he had an excuse when not as good since

15:40 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

C&D winner BEBSIDE BANTER regained the winning thread when making all last month. Chris Grant's gelding scored a shade cosily that day and a 4lb rise in the handicap may not be enough to prevent him from landing a third victory at this venue. Chase debutant Big Bee Hive ran with more encouragement on his third-placed finish over hurdles here in January. The seven-year-old could prove dangerous if proving as effective in this discipline, while Methusalar makes more appeal than Hexham specialist Cudgel for the minor honours.

BEBSIDE BANTER can make light of a 4 lb rise and extend his unbeaten Sedgefield chase record to 3. Methusalar looked set to go close when departing 2 out over C&D in November and is second choice ahead of chase newcomer Big Bee Hive, who caught the eye in a hurdle here last time.

This might go to chasing debutant BIG BEE HIVE, who stayed on well to take third over hurdles here last month.

15:50 Ludlow Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FORCE DE FRAP proved a different proposition on his return to chasing when scoring with ease at Bangor in December. A 10lb rise will no doubt make life more difficult for Emma-Jane Bishop's gelding, but he looks to be more than capable of completing a double. Abingworth got the better of the subsequent winner and reopposing Famoso at Taunton in November. The in-form pair should give another good account of themselves and they cannot be dismissed.

ABINGWORTH crucially jumped better than previously when getting the better of re-opposing Famoso when the pair met at Taunton in November and he's fancied to defy a 7 lb rise and confirm those placings here. Impressive Bangor scorer Force de Frap looks a player also, whilst the aforementioned Famoso, who has won himself since, should also be thereabouts in an intriguing contest.

Force De Frap scored with tremendous ease on heavy ground last time. He faces two appealing rivals in Famoso and ABINGWORTH.

16:00 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Four-year-old HEY WHATEVER gets a lot of weight from her older rivals and may be good enough. A decent maiden on the Flat for Noel Meade, she chased home a stalemate here on hurdling debut before finishing a remote fifth at Punchestown. That wasn't a bad run, though, with the winner placed in a Grade 1 since and the third a handicap winner next time. Whimsy is of comparable ability to the selection on the level and was placed in her first three starts over hurdles. Below par at Limerick over Christmas, her rating of 115 makes her worthy of respect but the weight concession may be beyond her. Iris Emery, related to chase winners in France, ran much better on her second start in bumpers when third to a pair of geldings at Naas. Representing a red-hot trainer/jockey combination, she has to enter calculations on her first start over hurdles.

IRIS EMERY showed more than first time up (back from 10 months off) when third in a Naas bumper 55 days ago and she shades the vote to build on that now her attentions switch to hurdling. Whimsy and Hay Whatever, both boasting experience in this sphere, are expected to be firmly in the mix.

It's a clear standard that WHIMSY (nap) sets who has run some big races in defeat for her new yard and could be hard to beat

16:10 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Coup De Gold gained his first success in over four years here at the end of last month when appreciating a step back in trip. However, his overall record, combined with a 4lb rise and a return to 2m4f, is enough to look elsewhere for win purposes. The vote, therefore, goes to JUST CALL ME AL, who arrives following a runner-up display at Musselburgh over 3m in December and the drop back in distance appears to be in his favour. Any market support for Ring Pretender on her handicap debut over hurdles would make the eight-year-old of considerable interest.

JUST CALL ME AL might be worth siding with to build on his latest Musselburgh second returned to a venue which suits him well. Coup de Gold and Swift Reply, first and second over C&D on their latest starts, are others to consider, while the returning Ring Pretender is less exposed than most of these and needs keeping a close eye on in the betting having shown promise on both previous hurdle starts.

The very lightly raced 5yo KOOKY should be capable of much better than he showed on his handicap debut at Wincanton.

TEA CLIPPER managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory when seemingly presented with an excellent opportunity at Warwick on his hunter chase debut. That said, the prospect of a sounder surface may help to get his head back in front. Shang Tang is capable of building on his third at Hereford with a step up in trip likely to aid his chances, while Cheltenham winner Miss Seagreen completes the shortlist.

Although disappointing last time, this looks like something of a formality for TEA CLIPPER who stands out on form by a long way. Shang Tang looks the likeliest to capitalise if the selection underperforms.

This looks a golden opportunity for TEA CLIPPER to make amends for his late capitulation on softer ground at Warwick.

16:30 Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MIGHTY JEREMY won a couple of handicaps on testing ground last spring and has been running back into form lately. He was well held when fourth at Navan but a repeat of his previous run when fifth in a higher grade at this venue would give him every chance. Chosen Diamond was a chase winner in November and was challenging at the last when coming down over hurdles at Navan. He had the selection well behind at the time of his departure and will have plenty of supporters off a 2lb higher mark. Happy Dreams won a big pot over fences at Limerick over Christmas and should be capable of being competitive from a much lower hurdles mark. Storm Mahler beat a subsequent winner at Limerick to gain his third handicap win in under a year. He's a tough sort but this trip is a bit short and he has to defy a 9lb hike.

A fiendishly-competitive closer in which it could pay to side with CHOSEN DIAMOND, who looked a big threat to the front-running winner when crashing out at Navan last month so Edward Cawley's 8-y-o can make amends at the expense of Storm Mahler, who showed a good attitude to notch a second win of the season at Limerick over Christmas. Happy Dreams, C'est Rien and Mighty Jeremy can do battle for the minor placings.

HAPPY DREAMS shades the vote having run some solid races over fences of late; should be a threat from lower hurdle mark

16:40 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 27f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TOWNHILL has improved with each start this season and gained a first career success at Doncaster in a conditionals/amateur jockeys' event. A 5lb rise is negated with his rider now able to use his 7lb claim and the extra distance doesn't appear likely to be an inconvenience. Onestepatatime is respected on the switch back to hurdling following her recent third here over fences. Dillarchie and Victory Echo appeal most of the remainder.

TOWNHILL justified support with an improved display to score at Doncaster last time and, with more to come, he takes marginal preference over Rumble B, who the handicapper has taken a big chance with. Onestepatatime and Victory Echo are both of interest returning to hurdling off lower marks.

There is probably still more to come from TOWNHILL (nap), who doesn't look harshly treated by a 5lb rise for his Doncaster win.

16:50 Ludlow Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Queshi Bridge benefited from stepping up in trip on her last couple of starts in Ireland, finishing second on each occasion, and she has to be of interest on her debut for Alastair Ralph, despite being off since August 2022. Both PHONE HOME (second) and Looking As You Are (third) received a timely boost following Brucio's success at the Dublin Racing Festival on Sunday, having chased home Stuart Crawford's mare at Catterick last month. The pair were closely matched on that occasion and the former is expected to uphold the form.

PHONE HOME chased home the promising Leopardstown handicap-winner Brucio at Catterick 4 weeks ago and has obvious claims on that showing. Looking As You Are was third on that occasion and won't be far away again, while Queshi Bridge is interesting starting out for Alastair Ralph back from a long absence.

Those in action over hurdles this term may be headed by LOOKING AS YOU ARE from By The Grace and Phone Home.

17:30 Kempton Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Preference is for FIDDLER'S ELBOW. The son of Due Diligence stayed on into second over C&D having met trouble last time out, and the addition of first-time blinkers could eke out further improvement. Handicap debutant Himawari is most appealing of the remainder and is open to more improvement, while you can also make a good case for Nevzilla on her penultimate effort at Southwell.

FIDDLER'S ELBOW was well backed and much improved when second over C&D a fortnight ago and looks the way to go off the same mark now fitted with blinkers. Nevzilla is feared most ahead of Moe's Legacy.

Unexposed FIDDLER'S ELBOW is taken to build on his encouraging C&D effort and get off the mark. Himawari is second choice.

18:00 Kempton Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Newsreader (winner) defeated LESSAY (second) over track and trip when receiving 7lb last month, but the latter gets a 5lb swing here and is fancied to reverse that form en route to further success. Newcomer Never Better cost 165,000 euros as a juvenile and, being distantly related to both Magical and Rhododendron, he can be expected to possess a fair level of ability. Others to note include Not Afraid and Spirit Of The Rose.

LESSAY meets Newsreader on 5 lb better terms than when beaten a ½ length by him over C&D last month and is taken to turn the tables. Well-bred newcomer Never Better could pose a big threat to that pair if the betting suggests he's fancied, while Ralph Beckett's Not Afraid has the potential to leave the form of his 6f course debut well behind.

Interesting newcomers SPIRIT OF THE ROSE and Never Better head the shortlist. Lessay and Newsreader bring the best form.

18:30 Kempton Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Neapolitan ought to find this less taxing than the class 2 he contested at Newcastle last month and he enters calculations along with Gunfighter, who finished a close-up third at Lingfield 24 days ago. However, a chance can be taken on previous C&D winner AHLAIN, who returns from a 165-day absence having disappointed in the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood in August. An opening mark of 81 could prove to be lenient.

CROSS THE TRACKS probably would have finished second but for suffering late interference over C&D last month and might prove the answer to this 3-y-o handicap. Ahlain tasted C&D success as a juvenile and is very much unexposed now handicapping so she's a possible danger, particularly if the betting vibes are strong. Neapolitan may prove next best.

This looks a tight contest but dual winner GUNFIGHTER gets the vote ahead of Neapolitan and Ahlain.

19:00 Kempton Handicap (Class 2) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

SYMBOL OF LIGHT shaped very well behind a subsequent winner on his latest start over 1m at Newcastle, running on for second after enduring a luckless passage, and, off just 1lb higher, he should be hard to stop. Aratus arrives on the back of an admirable third over 7f here last week and he may prove to be the biggest danger to the selection off an unchanged mark. Top Secret is likely to be the one setting the early fractions out in front, but he needs to bounce back from a laboured effort over C&D last month.

SYMBOL OF LIGHT again ran well when second at Newcastle on New Year's Day (the winner and third both won on their next starts) and he looks ready to gain a first success since joining Julie Camacho. He can see off the challenge of Greatgadian, who isn't taken lightly in his current form, while Dragon Icon helps to give Roger Varian a strong hand in the race.

On the back of a rock-solid effort, SYMBOL OF LIGHT (nap) gets the vote. Aratus is second choice.

19:30 Kempton Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Ballybaymoonshiner impressed when making all over 7f here last month in a classified stakes race, but he is not certain to back that effort up now switched to handicap company. With that in mind, preference is for the hat-trick seeking HEERATHETRACK, who was pushed out to score impressively over 7f most recently and could be up to scoring in handicap company on the evidence of that dominant display. Egoiste has hit the woodwork on his last two outings and looks to have solid claims again.

EGOISTE is in good order and wasn't seen to best effect when second at Wolverhampton last time, so he's worth chancing to get back to winning ways. The hat-trick seeking Heerathetrack is an obvious threat and Ballybaymoonshiner can take a hand if in the same form as when scoring here last month.

Being unexposed at this distance, STOIC SYD could well follow up his Southwell success. Ballybaymoonshiner is second choice.

20:00 Kempton Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DIAMONDSINTHESAND fared best of those held up off the pace when finishing a running-on fourth over 6f at Wolverhampton on his latest outing and, eased 1lb, he can make a bold bid for the gold medal. Hey Ho Let's Go was only caught late on when attempting to make all over 5f here last time out and he can make a solid fist of things from the front once more, for all that he doesn't look to be crying out for this step up in trip. Scramble is capable and might reward each-way support dropping to 6f.

HEY HO LET'S GO is well treated and produced his best effort for a while when second here three weeks ago, so he can go one better in a race that lacks depth. Diamondsinthesand and Astrophysics both look feasible dangers.

The vote goes to DIAMONDSINTHESAND, who was an eyecatching fourth behind three subsequent winners at Wolverhampton last time.

20:30 Kempton Handicap (Class 6) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

NIVELLE'S MAGIC arrives in excellent form having won three of her last four starts and it would be no surprise if the mare has more to offer on her first outing of the year. Star Of Epsom brings a consistent level of form to the table and has to enter calculations running off the same mark as her second at Lingfield on New Year's Eve. Trusty Scout, Fast Affair and Capstan appeal most of the remainder.

NIVELLE'S MAGIC found some improvement to make it 3 wins from her last 4 starts on turf/AW during the second half of last year and with her attitude an asset, she's fancied to make her presence felt again back from 3 months off. Capstan, who justified support to score at Lingfield recently, is worth considering. Fast Affair and Trusty Scout complete the shortlist in the finale.

With headgear again missing, CAPSTAN may well build on his Lingfield win and follow up. Nivelle's Magic is feared most.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
