ON THE BAYOU could prove the one to side with on the strength of his second here in December. Caught in the final strides on that hurdling debut, Harry Fry's charge had a subsequent dual winner back in fourth and will know more today. Can't Resist It faced a tough assignment behind Old Park Star at Cheltenham last time and this may prove to be more his level. He warrants plenty of respect, while Passage Du Maure and Limier D'arthel are others of interest.

On The Bayou was beaten by a 300-1 chance here last time so preference is for CAN'T RESIST IT who is downgraded.

SAINT CYR DE PAIL disappointed upped in both class and distance at Wincanton. Jane Williams' charge had won nicely over C&D prior to that and may well bounce back to form with a tongue-tie applied for the first time. The runner-up at Taunton on his penultimate start, Storming Nelson is another looking to get back on track, while Zainy Champ is worth a second look on his chasing bow given his yard has won both previous renewals.

This has an open look to it. SAINT CYR DE PAIL might be the one now he's back in a Class 5 with a tongue-tie added.

JIRKO has been running with credit here over 3m and this appears to be an excellent opportunity for Nick Alexander's gelding to get off the mark. The drop in trip and first-time cheekpieces suggest he is likely to bounce out and be ridden aggressively, which may see him in a better light. Heads Or Harps is preferred of the Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore pairing, but don't discount Walking On A Dream back in distance.

Consistent at around 3m this season, JIRKO is given the vote in the hope he responds well to cheekpieces over this shorter trip.

FOLLOWCATO hasn't looked back since getting off the mark at Ludlow in December with the seven-year-old scoring twice since at Exeter and Hereford. Ben Pauling's charge is improving at a fair rate of knots and an 8lb rise might not stop him from continuing on his merry way. Major Fortune remains on the same mark as his second at Newbury last month, while Taita Hills is capable of better than what he has shown so far over fences.

Followcato and Major Fortune are respected, but preference is for the less exposed TAITA HILLS.

KAP OUEST separated a couple of higher-rated rivals at Doncaster when runner-up in novice company on his chasing bow. The seven-year-old makes his handicap debut over fences and could prove better than his mark. Georgi Girl has yet to win over the larger obstacles, but a repeat of her recent second at Ludlow would make her a threat, while Excelero is slipping back towards a workable figure.

Back at handicap level and returned to the scene of his hurdles win, KAP OUEST (nap) holds particularly strong claims.

LA ZOUBIDA was turned over at Sedgefield when giving away 12lb to a rival who subsequently performed with credit in handicap company. Although Roses All The Way finished ahead of her in a Listed contest at Haydock in December, her overall form is stronger and she appears capable of successfully conceding weight all round. Roses All The Way got off the mark at Musselburgh and has to be respected, while Society Soldier and point-to-point winner Queens Secret complete the shortlist.

La Zoubida and Roses All The Way bring the best form but an interesting alternative is SOCIETY SOLDIER.

ERIC CARMEN appears to have found a new lease of life this season, having won on three occasions, and a 4lb rise for his Market Rasen success seems to be very fair. However, he does face an interesting rival in the shape of River Run Free, who won here over further in January before a mediocre effort at Ffos Las. Begin The Luck has dropped to his last winning mark and isn't without a chance.

The combination of Rian Corcoran's claim, better ground, and new headgear could see RIVER RUN FREE land a third course success.

Lynx De Thaix hasn't put a foot wrong in France - over hurdles and fences - and is a fascinating addition to the Tom Symonds team. It's difficult to gauge the strength of his form, though, so a safer option is SHERMINATOR. A fall in a Cheltenham contest won by Supreme hotpot Old Park Star aside, Harry Fry's five-year-old has taken really well to jumping and a mark of 118 could underestimate him. Phoenix Risen registered a deserved success at Taunton, while Jaminska and French Emperor add further spice to a competitive affair.

Quite competitive. SHERMINATOR hasn't done a lot wrong so far and he brings plenty of potential into handicaps.

LARGY GO was an expensive purchase after his point-to-point victory and is likely to step forward from his Rules debut when filling the runner-up spot at Lingfield. The five-year-old was reported to have lost a shoe on that occasion and has a strong chance of going one better. Lance Les Des has been running well at Kelso and is capable of being in the mix. Others to consider include Maiori and Minutes To Spare.

Irish point winner LARGY GO has considerable potential to progress from last month's promising rules debut and gets the nod.

FAY CE QUE VOUDRAS bids for a hat-trick of victories at this track after winning twice last month. The handicapper raised her 7lb, which matches the penalty given for the latest success last Tuesday, and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if she had more in the locker. Subtle Fortune was a fortunate winner on her chasing bow at Hereford but she did improve on her hurdles form and is noted. One Last Glance and Esperti can fight it out for the minor honours.

The 10yo mare FAY CE QUE VOUDRAS (nap) can complete her hat-trick, with Ronnies Reflection possibly emerging as her main threat.

Can You Call ran too badly to be true at Sandown and is better judged on his previous triumph in a similar event at Cheltenham. Genois lurks dangerously at the foot of the weights, while Neon Moon had yet to be asked a question when hitting the deck at Ascot, although the drop in trip isn't ideal. In contrast, GUNSIGHT RIDGE goes back up in distance and does so after a wind op. He has slipped to an attractive mark and is backed to take full advantage.

If back in the same form as at Cheltenham in December then CAN YOU CALL could have the measure of these.

Since beginning her chasing career with a Bangor/Huntingdon double, MOLTO BENE has been set some stiff assignments but has emerged with plenty of credit. She filled the runner-up berth in a Listed event over hurdles at Doncaster before chasing home the high-class Panic Attack back in this sphere at Newbury, so a mark of 122 definitely seems workable. Taxus Baccata made a solid enough start for her new yard when second at Wetherby and the winner has franked the form since. Demoiselle Kap should appreciate the return to the larger obstacles.

Clear preference is for MOLTO BENE who looks to have been found an inviting opportunity to record a third win of the campaign.

Daire McConville got a great tune out of ON THE GO at Hereford and Charlie Longsdon turns his six-year-old out again before his new mark comes into effect. That impressive display helped banish a heavy Newbury defeat to the memory and it should be a case of onwards and upwards. Bredon Hill Dart struck here recently, while it's too soon to write off Following Chapter, despite his costly Ludlow second. Spring Serenade and My Own Lovely Lee are worth a look now they go handicapping.

On The Go holds leading claims on his Hereford form. There are plausible alternatives, notably FOLLOWING CHAPTER.

Thank You Blue won't be inconvenienced going back up in trip, but the Micky Hammond-trained six-year-old is slightly more appealing given he lines up in receipt of weight and looked to be crying out for further when asserting close home over just short of 2m at Catterick. Chanceawetmorning is noted too.

The answer might be Irish raider CHANCEAWETMORNING, who was a creditable second in a big field at Fairyhouse in January.

Traila completes off a career-low figure and is another to note, but MARKET HOUSE gets the vote. James Owen's gelding occupied the runner-up berth in a warmer event at Wolverhampton and if in similar form, he will prove tough to beat.

Falco Des Pins was sent off a shade of odds-on at Ludlow, but had to dig deep to justify it. He may have pulled out more if required, but a 6lb higher mark is still a concern and he is passed over in favour of GRAIN TRADE. The Billy Aprahamian-trained seven-year-old weakened over 2m3f at Market Rasen and is selected instead thanks to his previous second to a subsequent winner over an extended 2m at Huntingdon. Night Jet and Lucky Lugger took minor honours over C&D and little should separate them again.

Venetia Williams' FALCO DES PINS got off the mark over fences at Ludlow with something to spare and can defy a 6lb rise.

APIARY has been running well and contests an ordinary claimer. She is no star and is rated 64, but she seems a dependable sort and can confirm last month's superiority over Princess Sioux, despite being 10lb worse off. Pliny would have strong claims if returning to some of his juvenile form and although well held here back in the autumn, he might be better suited by reverting to this distance. Kactus Jack debuts for new connections, having been bought for 7,000gns last October.

Although others are better treated at these weights, APIARY has shown reassuring consistency and has a good 7lb claimer in the saddle

TED THE THIEF is unlikely to be much of a price but is difficult to oppose following a very impressive 13-length romp at Taunton. He comfortably reversed the Bataillon form and looks the type to continue improving in this sphere. Previous C&D winner Lightonthewing is the main danger having won at Wincanton before Christmas and finished a narrow second at Chepstow latest. The others need to improve but The Scorpion King is the pick of them.

An uncompetitive staying chase and TED THE THIEF is the only runner with progressive form. Lightonthewing is running well.

A big improver here last time out when claiming the silver medal, the gut feeling is that TOROSAY won't need much more in order to strike and she has ground conditions to suit too. Nights In Venice chased home a runaway winner at Kelso and may have to settle for a supporting role again, while King Horse is another who finished second last time and he's open to plenty of improvement over fences.

This looks an excellent opportunity for TOROSAY (nap) to build on her recent C&D second and provide her resurgent yard with another win.

Bucklow Hill beat Silent Strike by just over a length on his introduction at Lingfield and it would be no surprise to see him confirm that form. Kimbara changed hands for 150,000 pounds as a yearling and warrants a market check, but the vote goes to SOUL LOVE. Karl Burke's filly made a strong impression when scoring on debut at Southwell in November and could have any amount of improvement to come.

Five winners lock horns and BUCKLOW HILL is selected to come out on top. Nursia heads the list of dangers.

SNIPE claimed the scalp of Stattler at Hereford before finishing a well-beaten fourth at Taunton. He paid the price for eyeballing a smart hunter chaser in bottomless ground, though, and can be given another chance. A Jet Of Our Own was a long way behind Dan Skelton's inmate at Hereford and a bigger threat might come in the shape of Densworth, who ran at the Cheltenham Festival a year ago and blew the cobwebs away between the flags recently.

The Dan Skelton-trained SNIPE looks the one to beat with fewer questions to answer than most. A Jet Of Our Own is second choice.

Successful at a mile here in November, the 10-time winner is equally effective at this distance and although often a slow starter, he is generally dependable. Battle Borne won a course maiden last month and although he has been raised 18lb since being well beaten in a handicap here in January, he seems to have found his niche at this distance. Nikki Swango is on her second stint with Ado McGuinness but while she has done very well recently, she competes from a near-career-high rating.

The reliable Nikki Swango is respected but slight preference is for LAHORE DA KING, back to his optimum trip now after a 1m run

Wincanton runner-up HARTHILL is taken to go one better and sustain the good form of her trainer who is 2-2 this month thus far.

Callianassa returned to winning ways over track and trip last month and is sure to attract plenty of support, while two-time course winner Jez Bomb is another to keep a close eye on.

A 2lb rise for her latest C&D success looks manageable for CALLIANASSA and she can go in again. Tribal Wisdom is feared most.

He is well suited by this surface and while a six-race maiden, he is consistent and is open to further progression. Masked Angel defeated Hasiyna to win here last month and with Hasiyna meeting some trouble in-running two days later, both have solid claims. Ohailbhic's sole win came over this C&D and he was well supported when finishing third here recently.

Richard Fahey's charge finished in front of the tough and consistent Goldmoyne (third) when runner-up at Southwell a fortnight ago and beat Bobby Joe Leg (second) when scoring over C&D prior to that. The latter could prove the main danger reopposing on more favourable terms, given the veteran won this contest last year.

Lessay is lurking on a dangerous mark but a visor has sparked a revival from GOLDEN STRIKE and he could be the answer.

His initial success came over an extended 1m2f at this venue last April and he bounced back to form with an easy triumph last month. He goes very well on this surface and although the extra yardage is an unknown, he won going away over 1m4f. Minella Mate is well suited by the distance and even though he has enough weight under his 7lb claimer, he has good recent form. Satono Chevalier, who chased home the selection in February, was beaten subsequently and now also tries 2m for the first time.

There was only a length between MINELLA MATE and Umala when the pair clashed over C&D last time but the former can go one better

FLOWSTATE got stuck in traffic at a crucial stage at Southwell last weekend. He would likely have finished closer than fourth with a clear run and, considering he landed a double over C&D before that, David O'Meara's charge remains of interest off his current mark. Course regular Spartan Fighter has been in fine form over 6f here this year and cannot be ruled out, while Beauty Choice is preferred of the rest.

A few possible revivers on show but FLOWSTATE (nap) is building up a fine record over C&D and he could have another win in him.

SYOSSET had two runs within a week at this track in November, which yielded a win and a third place, and he has been freshened up since. He drifted left in the final furlong and was collared close home the last day, so the first-time hood could benefit him. He's well drawn if prominent tactics are adopted again. Deluca Chop is getting closer to doubling his career all-weather total having finished third and second in his last couple of appearances over C&D. Without Love is in a good place at present, while Doctor Grace has the ability to get involved, although her form is in and out.

Given normal improvement from last month's return from a break, JURALITY has fair prospects of a breakthrough success

SON OF BEAUTY is taken to progress from a promising third on debut over 7f in January. He was three-quarters of a length behind the front two, who were rated 80 and 78 going into that maiden, and the extra furlong should suit considering how he finished. Jojo's Legacy enters the fray with a mark of 80 after three turf runs. She is a half-sister to a filly who won twice at Listed level in Italy so has to be of interest on her Polytrack bow. Mooncoin is related to a couple of multiple winners and could be sharp enough to make an impact. Star Of Beauty and Caitouna are others who could get involved.

Fortunate Star comfortably had Desert Master's measure at Southwell and it's difficult to envisage that form being reversed. Both are taken seriously, but the verdict is for CLASSY CLARETS, who wants marking up for winning at Wolverhampton given everything went wrong leaving the stalls as he reared and was slowly away. A good second before that in handicap company, he's clearly on good terms with himself.

Not a bad race of its type but FORTUNATE STAR has been better than this level in the past and can defy a penalty for his recent win.

The last time she ran at this level, she travelled well on her way to finishing second and is now 1lb lower in the weights. The hat-trick beckons and he can edge out Call Glory, who has won twice this year in handicap and classified stakes company. Pit Boss should run his usual honest race too.

Most of these are usually held up and BULLINGTON BRY and the thriving Yorkshire Glory may not come back to the pack.

This is a drop in class for CALIFORNIA DREAMER and she is advantaged by the weights. She was good enough to finish runner-up in last season's Irish 1,000 Guineas and showed an aptitude for this surface when winning her maiden by more than five lengths here a bit over a year ago. Tokenomics has the same official rating as California Dreamer, but has to give her 5lb. He has a good record in Dundalk, where he was last seen winning a quality handicap in November. Instant Appeal rang up a hat-trick at this track between November and December and rarely runs a bad race.

The vote goes to TOKENOMICS, who rounded off last season with an impressive C&D victory and he will be hard to beat if he's ready
