(1) (6/4 +63%)So You Know |
6/4(+63%) | (1) So You Know 6/4, Solid effort under penalty when second beaten 7l in a novice hurdle at Market Rasen latest; returning from a break; effective 2m, acts on good; debut form nothing special but progressing. Maiden winner; off since November but brings potential into handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (8/1 +33%)Time Interval |
8/1(+33%) | (7) Time Interval 8/1, Taken on up front and went too fast comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Taunton last time; off a short-break; effective 2m, may not get 2 1/2m, suited by good; back below last winning mark, needs this drop in trip. Late rain was no help last time at Taunton; interesting with a tongue-tie back on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (8/1 -129%)Ukantango |
8/1(-129%) | (2) Ukantango 8/1, Ran to form back down in trip landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Hereford last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft, good; back in form, capable off this mark. Only 2lb higher than for his narrow Hereford win and a likely contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/1 +36%)Tao Enki |
9/1(+36%) | (5) Tao Enki 9/1, Outpaced, below form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Ludlow last time; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft, good to soft; more to come in handicaps but drop in trip unlikely to suit. Has shown enough to believe he can be more competitive at this level on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (10/1 +29%)A Good Yomp |
10/1(+29%) | (13) A Good Yomp 10/1, Ran to form 8 1/4l third in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon most recent run; effective 2m4f on soft, good to soft; in form, mark demands more. The hood is working well; his improvement has come over further and others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (10/1 -11%)Newtown Rambler |
10/1(-11%) | (3) Newtown Rambler 10/1, Needed run on stable debut when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh latest; cheekpieces first time; effective 2 1/2m; can do better under slightly more reserved ride. A winner in Ireland; there were reasons for his weak finish on stable debut; back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (11/1 +0%)Choice Runner |
11/1(+0%) | (10) Choice Runner 11/1, Never in the race down the field in a handicap hurdle here most recent; usually held up; effective at 2m-2m4f, acts on heavy, good; still early days in handicaps, must bounce back but fair mark on novice form. Still early days and he's unexposed on this sort of ground; hard to dismiss. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (12/1 +0%)Get In Order |
12/1(+0%) | (11) Get In Order 12/1, Every chance, below form when fourth beaten 22l in a maiden hurdle at Hereford latest; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on good; in fair form, likely one for handicaps but opening mark tough, may get bit further. 9l fourth in a novice two runs back suggests he has the ability to feature off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (16/1 -33%)Mo Ghille Mar |
16/1(-33%) | (4) Mo Ghille Mar 16/1, Better effort but looked in need of stiffer test beaten 6l in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time; off a short-break; effective 2m on a sound surface; may do better over slightly further over hurdles and this a tough ask. Smart Flat horse and this is her first handicap over hurdles away from the mud. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (16/1 +0%)Stone Cold |
16/1(+0%) | (12) Stone Cold 16/1, Outpaced, improved down in class comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow last time; tongue-tie first time; effective 2m, acts on good; more to come in handicaps but may need further than 2m over hurdles. Showed a bit more when beaten about 12l in a Chepstow maiden two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (16/1 +36%)Northanger Abbey |
16/1(+36%) | (8) Northanger Abbey 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon latest; tongue-tie first time; effective 2m, acts with cut; still early days for good yard but needs more. Pulled up on handicap debut; could benefit from a drier surface and the added tongue-tie. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (20/1 +0%)Supreme Yeats |
20/1(+0%) | (9) Supreme Yeats 20/1, Outpaced, again needed stiffer test well beaten in a handicap hurdle here latest; suited by sound surface and 3m; can bounce back when returned to staying trips but not here. Good mark and drying ground will help, but his form has come over further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (20/1 +60%)Gifted Angel |
20/1(+60%) | (6) Gifted Angel 20/1, Never threatened having missed the break beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Southwell last time; effective 2m; bit to prove over hurdles after lay off. Hasn't been on his game in either discipline on last four starts; bit to prove. |

A 2lb rise for Ukantango's Hereford triumph could prove to be lenient and another bold bid is forecast. However, SO YOU KNOW's runner-up effort in a novice hurdle at Market Rasen 102 days ago reads well and an official rating of 111 looks workable. Aamilah Aswat is claiming 10lb off the five-year-old's back and that may prove decisive. Irish raider Mo Ghille Mar and the dropped-in-trip Newtown Rambler are others of interest.

A chance is taken on in Irish raider MO GHILLE MAR who was smart on the Flat and this is her first handicap on ground not testing.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (9/4 -29%)Sine Qua Non |
9/4(-29%) | (10) Sine Qua Non 9/4, Travelled strongly but probably made move too soon on very promising debut 1 1/4l third in a bumper at Navan most recent run; off a long absence; effective 2m, acts on soft; point winner, bumper form franked emphatically, much more to come now hurdling. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (150/1 -20%)Jetstream Jeff |
150/1(-20%) | (4) Jetstream Jeff 150/1, Outpaced and ran poorly when down the field in a graduation hurdle at Punchestown most recent; plenty to prove. Failed to complete either point; beat very few rivals at huge odds in two m'den hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (150/1 -20%)Salvador Peps |
150/1(-20%) | (9) Salvador Peps 150/1, Unseated early in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown latest; went off big price on debut, may need more time. UR at first on Leopardstown debut at 150-1 six days ago; hard to fancy based on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

150/1(-20%) | (14) Ur My Fav 150/1, Unseated early in a maiden hurdle at Navan latest; went off big price on debut, may need more time. UR at second hurdle when 100-1 for debut; unlikely. |

150/1(-88%) | (13) Lakewood Rose 150/1, Modest debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Thurles last time; hard to fancy. Point winner posted some okay bumper efforts last season; beaten 26l on hurdles debut. |

The winner of a Grade 2 bumper at last year's Dublin Racing Festival, COLCANNON might be able to kick-start his career over hurdles. Second on his timber debut at Punchestown in November, he then disappointed at Navan. Given a few months off since that effort and upped in trip now, it'll be disappointing if he fails to deliver. Winning a Lingstown point-to-point in impressive fashion and subsequently purchased by JP McManus, Sine Qua Non is an interesting contender. A close third on his sole start under Rules to date, he might be best watched on his comeback from a lengthy absence unless the market suggests otherwise. Out of action for over two years before returning in January, Doctor Elvis is another to note.

Top bumper performer COLCANNON is the most likely winner, provided he bounces back from a poor showing last time

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (9/4 +0%)Talakan |

13/2(+7%) | (5) Legal Weapon 13/2, Every chance, ran to form when fourth beaten 7l in a novice hurdle at Doncaster latest; effective 2m-2m3f, acts on good to soft, good; more to offer but might want further. Bumper winner at Warwick; consistent elsewhere since switched to hurdles; solid. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (22/1 +21%)Typhoon Warrior |
22/1(+21%) | (7) Typhoon Warrior 22/1, Yard has won 2 of last 10 runnings of race; didn't enjoy the ground and probably unsuited by drop in trip when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Newbury last time; effective 2-2 1/2m; more to come for top yard. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (28/1 +15%)Answer That |

33/1(-50%) | (8) Ample Warning 33/1, Promising debut when fourth beaten 14l in a novice hurdle at Ludlow latest; off a short-break; effective 2m; should improve a little for initial experience. Showed promise at Ludlow in December and looks open to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (150/1 -50%)Ballylicky Bay |
150/1(-50%) | (9) Ballylicky Bay 150/1, Outpaced, poor effort well beaten in a novice hurdle at Hereford latest; returning from a break; effective 2m, acts on good; point and bumper winner yet to fire over hurdles, may want further in handicaps. Point/bumper winner who has regressed in two hurdles attempts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (150/1 +0%)Scrumpyjack |
150/1(+0%) | (6) Scrumpyjack 150/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Doncaster latest finding little; lots more needed. Poor claims on form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (200/1 -60%)Bargain Hunter |
200/1(-60%) | (4) Bargain Hunter 200/1, Never threatened on modest debut well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter latest; improvement needed to figure. Has very weak claims on rules form. |

Although underwhelming when pulled up on his handicap bow at Windsor, Great Fleet must enter calculations reverting to novice company. Wilstar is another who is likely to be in the mix after his Southwell success and is sure to prove popular with Sean Bowen back in the plate. However, the pair may struggle to concede 17lb to the four-year-old TALAKAN, who arrives on the back of a close-up second at Ludlow.

Southwell winner WILSTAR is taken to defy a penalty. Talakan, Legal Weapon and Great Fleet are the main dangers on form.

(4) (5/4 +9%)Molly's Lad |
5/4(+9%) | (4) Molly's Lad 5/4, Promising debut 9l third in a 4yo hurdle at Doncaster most recent run; that form franked in a Grade 2; effective 2m, acts on good to soft; knew job on debut but should progress a little and should be winning soon. Ran well in Listed bumper in January and placed behind two useful rivals on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/4 +0%)Majordomo |
9/4(+0%) | (2) Majordomo 9/4, Very promising debut 2 1/4l winner in a juvenile bumper at Newcastle on debut; that form nothing special; returning from a break; effective 2m, acts on good to soft; more to come over hurdles from bumper winner. Created pretty good impression when winning Newcastle bumper in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/4 -10%)Lucy The Wire |
11/4(-10%) | (1) Lucy The Wire 11/4, Keen, travelled, ran to form when second beaten 4 1/4l in a juvenile hurdle at Haydock latest; trainer in form; tongue-tie first time; off a short-break; effective at 2m1f, acts on soft and good; debut form worked out well, likely more to come for new yard. Scored on stable debut and ran well in defeat on next outing; has big role to play. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (25/1 -79%)Masterfield |
25/1(-79%) | (3) Masterfield 25/1, Failed to build on debut comfortably held in a 4yo bumper here last time; effective at 2m on soft; improvement required to figure now hurdling. Displayed clear promise on first two starts but needs to take a good step forward. |

MOLLY'S LAD was deemed good enough for a Listed bumper at Cheltenham on New Year's Day and performed creditably for fifth, and also went well when taking the bronze medal at Doncaster on his hurdling debut. Entitled to have improved plenty for that run, he could be the way to go. Lucy The Wire is more experienced over timber and boasts a victory at Leicester, so she's noted along with Newcastle bumper winner Majordomo.

Placed in what looked a strong junior hurdle at Doncaster last month, MOLLY'S LAD is probably the one to beat.

Just denied at Punchestown on heavy; definite contender again but more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/4 +0%)Blake |
9/4(+0%) | (3) Blake 9/4, Well placed off modest pace, likely outstayed late on testing ground beaten 9l in Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) at Leopardstown last time; in good form prior; effective 2m, acts on soft and good; useful on flat, progressive over hurdles and sets the standard here. Royal Bond second ran okay at DRF; skips the Supreme for this and sets the standard here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (10/3 +39%)Davy Crockett |
10/3(+39%) | (1) Davy Crockett 10/3, Yard has won last two runnings of race; down the field in Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) at Leopardstown most recent where ground too testing; in good form prior; trainer in form; suited by 2m on decent ground; very well bred, potentially high-class novice but conditions a worry. DRF flop possibly due to heavy ground; questions to answer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (8/1 -100%)Le Labo |
8/1(-100%) | (5) Le Labo 8/1, Fell in a maiden hurdle at Cork latest but would've won if staying up; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on any; bumper win here franked, latest run boosted at top level, could make amends. Likely Cork maiden winner when fell last; remains a potentially smart sort, could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (16/1 -14%)Parnell Street |
16/1(-14%) | (6) Parnell Street 16/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 8l in Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) at Thurles latest; effective 2m-2m3f, acts on heavy, good; in form but may have reached level. Solid runs in defeat since maiden win but looks to have a lot to find here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (33/1 -83%)Jony R |
33/1(-83%) | (2) Jony R 33/1, Ran to form but outclassed when fourth beaten 9l in Sheila Bourke Novice Hurdle (Listed) at Punchestown latest; effective at 2m1f, acts on soft; progressive and outside claims if getting decent test. Good bit to find here and ground remains a concern. |

BLAKE finished well ahead of Davy Crockett when they clashed at the Dublin Racing Festival and, on better terms now, the Noel Meade-trained Blake should be able to confirm his superiority. Narrowly beaten in the Royal Bond on his penultimate start, the selection is the highest rated runner in the line-up. Unbeaten in three starts prior to that Leopardstown effort, the aforementioned Davy Crockett still warrants the utmost respect, while it'll be interesting to see how Le Labo fares.

The decision to skip Cheltenham could reap dividends here for connections of BLAKE who sets a good standard and is proven on the ground

25/1(-79%) | (10) Delgany Headline 25/1, Yard has won 2 of last 10 runnings of race; Jack Hobbs gelding; half-brother to Delgany Dreamer, moderate at 19f for this yard; top trainer. Newcomer; half-brother to his connections' 2m6f chase winner Delgany Deadline. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (150/1 +0%)Babychino |
150/1(+0%) | (11) Babychino 150/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Exeter latest where very green; hood first time; off a short-break; all to prove over hurdles. Pulled up in both attempts over hurdles; hood applied. |

King Al has improved with each outing over hurdles, culminating in a triumph at Ludlow. The four-year-old is still open to further improvement and merits consideration, but WONDERING WHY is slightly more appealing. Ben Pauling's charge impressed when accounting for 17 rivals at Lingfield and there should be more to come. Ionian could figure if bouncing back to his Sandown form, while market support for hurdling debutant Road To Wembley would be interesting.

The suggestion is LEO WOOD. Wondering Why, King Al and Ionian are the other main players on hurdles form.

(1) (15/8 -15%)Tommy's Oscar |
15/8(-15%) | (1) Tommy's Oscar 15/8, Ran to form beaten 3l off this mark at Musselburgh last time; effective 2m, just about gets 2 1/2m, acts on soft and good; running back into form but big stamina concerns here. Creditable second over 2m4f at Musselburgh last time but has stamina to prove today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/4 -20%)Hillcrest |
9/4(-20%) | (5) Hillcrest 9/4, Went clear, returned to form under aggressive ride in first time visor jumping much better beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb lower mark at Uttoxeter last time; effective 2m4f-3m, acts well with cut; formerly smart, good mark if building on latest. Ran big race in defeat in first-time visor in January; big player if in similar mood here. |

(2) (7/2 +42%)Empire Steel |
7/2(+42%) | (2) Empire Steel 7/2, Below form up in class, possible bounce when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Kelso last time; effective 2m4f-3m2f, acts on soft and good; well treated on old form, could bounce back. Ran quite well in January, after a layoff, but tailed off since; not easy to predict here. |

(3) (5/1 +29%)Credo |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Credo 5/1, Outpaced and outclassed up in grade when well beaten in Swinley Handicap Chase at Ascot latest; usually held up; effective 3m+, acts on any; generally consistent, mark slipping. Well beaten in major handicap last month but now 3lb lower than when winning this in 2025. |

(4) (8/1 +43%)Blackjack Magic |
8/1(+43%) | (4) Blackjack Magic 8/1, Failed to build on reappearance on softer ground, possible bounce when fourth beaten 48l in a handicap chase at Sandown latest; visor first time; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on any; below last winning mark, unreliable of late. Ran quite well two starts ago but has become far too inconsistent to rely upon. |

TOMMY'S OSCAR's latest second behind the smart JPR One at Musselburgh reads well in the context of this veterans' handicap chase and the 11-year-old can give these rivals weight and a beating. Credo looks the pick of the Anthony Honeyball pair and brings winning C&D form to the table, while Hillcrest is a player too judged on his Uttoxeter second.

The answer might be CREDO, who won this race off a higher mark 12 months ago and will find this easier than her latest assignment.

(11) (22/1 +21%)Vallon Du Plessis |
22/1(+21%) | (11) Vallon Du Plessis 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Navan latest; effective 2 1/2m, acts with cut; inconsistent; needs more. Penultimate Punchestown effort wasn't a bad one; drop in trip may not suit though. |

A first-time hood might have the desired effect on KING BOB. A real eye-catcher when coming from off the pace to finish a never-nearer third at Punchestown on New Year's Eve, he looks well capable of winning a contest of this standard. Well supported when successful on her handicap debut at Navan last month, Westandtogether is now dropped in trip and it remains to be seen whether that will suit. Narrowly denied at Limerick over Christmas, Might Be The One should give a good account of herself too.

A good third at Punchestown last time KING BOB (nap) looks a lively one off bottom-weight with a first-time hood

Gained his Ludlow double on good ground; form has dipped on softer going since. |

James Bowen managed to keep a little in reserve aboard GOT A DREAM when he broke through over hurdles at Chepstow in October, which was evidenced when the partnership followed up over this C&D the following month. Another 5lb rise looks manageable for this progressive seven-year-old, especially as he has won when fresh before. Hereford winner Kel Du Large is another strong contender off just 3lb higher, while Ilitch and Thankyourluckystar merit betting checks.

Hat-trick seeker GOT A DREAM gets the vote ahead of Kel Du Large. A few others also have possibilities.

GUET APENS is going to take a bit of beating in this novices' hurdle. A useful performer on the Flat, the six-year-old shaped as though he'd improve plenty for his opening hurdles third at Musselburgh and connections have found him a nice race. Itsinthename won at Catterick and They Want Me struck at Kelso, but it's questionable as to whether they're good enough to give the weight away to Guet Apens.

Nick Scholfield's promising new recruit ITSINTHENAME is taken to defy a 7lb penalty for his stylish debut hurdles success at Catterick

French Flat/hurdles winner; tailed off back from 421-day absence last time; best watched. |

Now rated 136 over fences after going down narrowly in the Thyestes, BETTER TIMES AHEAD will be aiming to exploit his much lower hurdles mark. He already took advantage at Fairyhouse in November and looks capable of doing so again. In truth, this is a fiercely competitive affair and cases can be made for many others. An easy winner at Fairyhouse, Billy Lee Swagger can be forgiven his subsequent effort there after his reins snapped. Second at Leopardstown and Navan the last twice, Hgranca De Thaix is sure to have plenty of supporters, while handicap debutant I'm Slippy, a stable companion of the selection, is another of definite interest.

Agonisingly close in the Thyestes last time, BETTER TIMES AHEAD has a 13lb lower mark compared to that run now back over timber

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (8/1 +0%)Politacus |
8/1(+0%) | (2) Politacus 8/1, Taken on up front and made too much use of, stopped quickly after bad errors when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Ludlow last time; effective 2m-2m6f on soft and good; plenty to prove after lay off. Ultimately well beaten in her first two chases but ran well for a long way last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/1 -13%)Epinephrine |
9/1(-13%) | (1) Epinephrine 9/1, Improved from debut when second beaten 13l in a handicap chase at Huntingdon latest; effective 2m, acts on soft and good; may get bit further over fences where more to come judged on hurdle form. Still lightly raced but didn't achieve a great deal when second of three last month. |

Alan King has his string in good order and IRISH CHORUS is an appealing stable contender after a win and a second-placed finish in similar company on her last two starts. Assuming she jumps with more fluency than she did at Taunton last time, King's mare could be tough to deal with. Bobbi's Beauty and Epinephrine are also in good form and make the shortlist. She Is For Me Boys could also figure on just her second start after wind surgery.

Another chance can be given to SHE IS FOR ME BOYS, who didn't get home on soft ground last time but may still have potential.

(1) (6/4 +45%)Benmore |
6/4(+45%) | (1) Benmore 6/4, Fell in a handicap chase at Southwell latest when booked for runner up spot; effective 2-2 1/2m, acts on good to soft, good; progressing over fences, could still be ahead of mark. Won three-runner race in December and has performed well twice since; in the mix again. |

(3) (2/1 -60%)Celestial Fashion |
2/1(-60%) | (3) Celestial Fashion 2/1, Jumped boldly, improved up in trip at favoured venue landing a handicap by 11l off a 8lb lower mark here last time; enjoys making it; effective 2m-2m4f, does not quite stay 3m, acts with cut; new mark asks more but she is progressive and loves the track. Thriving mare who bids for a hat-trick after two clear wins this year, the latter over C&D. |

(4) (10/3 +17%)Kadjar Des Mottes |
10/3(+17%) | (4) Kadjar Des Mottes 10/3, Yard won this last year; improved up in trip beaten 2 1/4l off this mark at Doncaster last time; effective 2m-3m, acts on soft and good to soft; progressing over fences. 0-9 under rules but posted good effort when second at Doncaster last month; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/2 +31%)Kahavari |
9/2(+31%) | (2) Kahavari 9/2, No obvious excuse comfortably held in a handicap chase at Ayr last time; effective 2-2 1/2m, acts with cut; mark looks fair judged on French form but inconsistent. Seemed to be getting act together over fences two starts ago but below that form since. |

Having supplemented a Wetherby demolition job when following up over C&D, Celestial Fashion merits the utmost respect in her hat-trick bid. However, another 8lb rise could anchor Ian Duncan's mare and preference is for BENMORE. The six-year-old was running with credit before a last-fence fall at Southwell and he may prove to be slightly better treated. Kadjar Des Mottes might take the bronze medal ahead of Kahavari.

There is no strong temptation to oppose CELESTIAL FASHION, who has been in superb form in recent weeks and can dominate from the front.

Four-time point winner and h'cap hurdle winner looks up against it from 10lb outside h'cap. |

HARVARD GUY can put a favourable chase rating to good use. A dual Listed winner and Grade 3-placed over hurdles in 2023/24, he missed 641 days prior to November's return and while well held this season, he caught the eye here last time and is unexposed at this trip. Mark Walsh is unable to do the weight on the selection but rides Goraibhmaithagat, who has obvious claims despite being 7lb higher than when scoring here last month. Built By Ballymore is 4lb out of the handicap, but ran well in first-time blinkers at Punchestown.

Landing a gamble here last time, GORAIBHMAITHAGAT is up 7lb but has scope for improvement if jumping better and Mark Walsh rides

8/1(+20%) | (4) Kyntara 8/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Newbury latest; effective 3m, suited by cut; in moderate form but handicapper is relenting; versatile ground wise; must bounce back. The season started well but he's been back in the doldrums in his last two races. |

(3) (18/1 +10%)Mars Harper |
18/1(+10%) | (3) Mars Harper 18/1, Never threatened when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown most recent; returning from a break; effective 2 1/2-3m; often gets going too late, frustrating type on long losing run, best watched for now for new yard. On a good mark but there's much to prove on first sighting since October. |

SUPER SURVIVOR is the only one with a recent win to his name and resumes from a short break with a good chance of brushing aside a 5lb rise for his Haydock success before Christmas. This is a slightly deeper race and it's noteworthy connections opt to use a 10lb claimer for the competitively-weighted Porter In The Park, who could be the biggest danger on these terms. Big Cadillac is the pick of the rest.

Most of these have chances but BIG CADILLAC could have some upside about him now tackling his first handicap.

22/1(+12%) | (5) Marown 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Newcastle latest; trainer in form; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on heavy, good to soft; out of form since lay off, unlikely winner. Remains without a victory since 2021 and he's been pulled up on his last three runs. |

HUDSON DE GRUGY returned to form when second over track and trip and a return to class 4 company could prove just the tonic. The nine-year-old is expected to appreciate these calmer waters and has plenty going for him off an unchanged mark. Latenightrumble arrives on the back of a respectable fourth at Chepstow and should give another good account, while Lady In The Park is entitled to build on her second-placed reappearance here.

Preference is for LADY IN THE PARK, who shaped as though this return to 3m would really suit when a promising reappearance second here

Three-time winner over timber rated 120; 12yo makes chasing debut now; others preferred. |

(7) (150/1 -20%)L'amiral Fromentin |
150/1(-20%) | (7) L'amiral Fromentin 150/1, Jumped poorly and outclassed comfortably held in a beginners chase chase at Gowran Park last time; pointer with it all to prove under rules. Little form of note in points and same story in two beginners' chases; very unlikely. |

BALLYGUNNER CASTLE is an able performer and it is hoped he will leave behind a last-start tumble. A dual bumper winner and placed at Grade 2 level last April, he ran well on his chase debut at Punchestown before falling at that venue on New Year's Eve. He is suited by testing ground and is his yard's first string. Spread Boss Ted finished fourth in Cheltenham's 2024 Albert Bartlett, but then missed a year. His most recent Punchestown run was satisfactory, but he would prefer further. Champagne Jury was well enough held on his recent chase debut, but is useful and can place. Grade 1-placed hurdler Supersundae's overall form is inconsistent and he was well held on a recent reappearance run.

Townend sticks with BALLYGUNNER CASTLE despite his fall last time. He was a good second on chase debut and this looks easier

Won the Southern National last term; possibilities off an attractive mark. |

HOUSE OF HABSBURG created a good impression in defeat on his chase bow here in December and has confirmed that promise subsequently courtesy of back-to-back wins. He's got the odd mistake in him, something he needs to iron out as he continues up the class ladder, but he stays all day and this rise in trip should bring out even more improvement. Mumford's Magic won well at Doncaster and is another chaser on the up, while Jubilant enters calculations too.

Being a last-time course winner who may well improve further, HOUSE OF HABSBURG (nap) is preferred. Mumford's Magic is second pick.

(3) (2/1 +20%)Holly Bird |
2/1(+20%) | (3) Holly Bird 2/1, Improved back down in trip for cosy win landing a handicap by 5 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; trainer in form; effective 2-2 1/2m; steadily progressing and big player if getting stiff test. Impressively off mark at Newcastle; big shout despite the drop back in trip and 6lb rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (10/3 +52%)Queen Roslyn |
10/3(+52%) | (8) Queen Roslyn 10/3, Poorly placed to challenge comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Catterick last time; usually held up; effective 2m; good mark on flat and novice form; very interesting. Below her Flat form but could improve given this stiffer test of stamina over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (5/1 +23%)Disco Annie |
5/1(+23%) | (2) Disco Annie 5/1, Did not find much after series of errors comfortably held in a handicap chase at Market Rasen last time; cheekpieces first time; usually held up; off a short-break; effective 2m, may prefer bit further; yet to take to chasing and revival needed on hurdles return. Both her victories have come over C&D but she has been largely well below par this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (5/1 -122%)Vanilla Dancer |
5/1(-122%) | (4) Vanilla Dancer 5/1, Ran to form down in trip finally shedding maiden tag landing a handicap by a length off a 2lb lower mark at Catterick last time; effective at around 2 1/2m; generally consistent, may have bit more to offer now she's had her head in front. Deserved breakthrough hurdling success at Catterick latest; not out of things up 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/1 +10%)Georgie's Malt |
9/1(+10%) | (6) Georgie's Malt 9/1, Every chance, ran to form when fourth beaten 18l in a maiden hurdle at Musselburgh latest; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on good; fair opening mark and very interesting Well-held fourth at Musselburgh latest; needs this switch to h'caps to spark improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (9/1 +18%)Out On Her Own |
9/1(+18%) | (9) Out On Her Own 9/1, Made too much use of comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Sedgefield last time; returning from a break; yet to match point form. Remote fifth at Sedgefield in November; plenty more is needed after a four-month layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (10/1 +38%)Moonlightinthepark |
10/1(+38%) | (5) Moonlightinthepark 10/1, Disappointing up in trip on softer ground on handicap debut down the field in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow most recent; needs more in handicaps. Yet to fire in four runs over hurdles; could still do better dropped back in trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (20/1 +50%)Lady Babs |
20/1(+50%) | (1) Lady Babs 20/1, Won this last year; down the field in a handicap hurdle here most recent where ground too testing; effective 2m/2m1f, acts on good, goes well at Market Rasen and Carlisle; multiple C&D winner has been struggling this term but handicapper has relented. Won this a year ago; well below par this term but still not dismissed from a reduced mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (25/1 -56%)Stage Lady |
25/1(-56%) | (7) Stage Lady 25/1, Pulled up in a maiden at Turtulla latest; off a short-break; yet to show anything over hurdles in Ireland; all to prove on yard debut. Poor ex-Irish maiden; goes h'capping for good yard here so she's no forlorn hope. |

A wind operation has revitalised VANILLA DANCER and a 2lb nudge for winning at Catterick looks highly workable in this company. Cutting back in trip was instrumental in that North Yorkshire success and Chris Grant's mare has a good chance of following up. Holly Bird travelled strongly when she won over an extended 2m4f at Newcastle and is another solid option, while Disco Annie and last year's winner Lady Babs tend to go well here and also command respect.

Sandy Thomson's HOLLY BIRD (nap) gets a confident vote to make light of a 6lb rise for her impressive breakthrough Newcastle victory

(2) (8/13 +23%)Poetisa |
8/13(+23%) | (2) Poetisa 8/13, Improved for debut experience when second beaten 8l in Apple's Jade Mares Novice Hurdle (Listed) at Navan latest; trainer in form; effective 2m-2m3f on soft to heavy and good; bumper winner on debut last spring; can outclass these. Good ground bumper winner but has handled heavy of late hurdling; likely the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (4/1 +20%)Caoimhe |
4/1(+20%) | (3) Caoimhe 4/1, Green, outclassed on debut comfortably held in Listed Mares Flat Race at Navan last time; returning from a break; point winner can do better down in grade. Beaten 23l on bumper debut; needs to improve plenty but still respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/2 -22%)Kiltybo |
11/2(-22%) | (1) Kiltybo 11/2, Improved suited by positive ride when winning a Mares bumper at Thurles by 3 1/2l last time; effective at 2m with cut; progressing, remain competitive. Front-running Thurles win over Moyneard but 7lb penalty makes this tough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (8/1 -60%)Moyneard |
8/1(-60%) | (5) Moyneard 8/1, Improved from debut just unable to reel in race fit rival when second beaten 3 1/2l in a Mares bumper at Thurles latest; effective at 2m, acts on good and soft; should come on for latest, could reverse form if ridden more positively. Comeback second to Kiltybo at Thurles augurs well; 7lb better off with that rival now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (14/1 +0%)Treadonmydreams |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Treadonmydreams 14/1, Promising effort a nose winner in a maiden point at Necarne on debut; absent for very lengthy period; form of point win had knocks; market can guide on rules debut. Absent since dead-heating in point in May 2024; market likely good guide on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (66/1 +0%)Forever And A Day |
66/1(+0%) | (4) Forever And A Day 66/1, Ran to form 44l third in a graduation hurdle at Punchestown most recent run; likely to find this too sharp switched to bumpers. Beaten a long way twice in Punchestown maiden hurdles; switches to bumper. |

POETISA has good recent form and has shown nice promise to date. Out of a half-sister to top-class hurdler Macs Joy, she was purchased for 300,000 pounds following a debut bumper success and although disappointing on her hurdling debut in January, she improved from that effort subsequently. In that Navan race, she turned the form around with her Punchestown conqueror, chasing home smart winner Zanoosh. Kiltybo scored at Thurles, but must now concede 7lb to runner-up Moyneard and both probably need to improve to beat the selection.

Not a natural jumper of hurdles of late, nonetheless POETISA has shown a smart level of form, likely plenty good enough to score here

2/1(-7%) | (6) Presley 2/1, Very promising debut, too much to do third beaten 2 1/4l in a bumper at Chepstow debut; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on GS; debut form franked, should progress. Beaten fav at Chepstow but finished his race out nicely and the form has worked out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (11/4 +8%)Jetaway Holiday |
11/4(+8%) | (4) Jetaway Holiday 11/4, Very promising debut 11l winner in a maiden point at Eyton-On-Severn on debut; trainer in form; returning from long layoff; tongue-tie first time; point winner has joined top yard, likely type. Beat one other finisher in his point but has joined a top stable for £65,000. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (11/2 +21%)Pride Hill |
11/2(+21%) | (7) Pride Hill 11/2, 75,000 euros Jukebox Jury gelding; half-brother to She Can Do It, fair at 18f; top local yard does well here and in this sphere; likely type 75,000euros 3yo; has to be of interest representing the Murphy/Bowen combination. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (6/1 -9%)Merry Away |
6/1(-9%) | (5) Merry Away 6/1, Promising effort third beaten 4 1/2l in a maiden point at Boulta debut; returning from a break; has joined yard which can get them ready first time. Recruited for £72,000 after finishing third in an Irish point in November. |

15/2(+25%) | (8) Wyrley Birch 15/2, Blue Bresil gelding; half-brother to Edwardstone, high-class Grade 1 winner at 16f for this yard; very interesting. Half-brother to stable star Edwardstone who was runner-up in this very bumper in 2019. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (15/2 +17%)Chinese Whispers |
15/2(+17%) | (1) Chinese Whispers 15/2, 35,000 euros Maxios gelding; half-brother to Range, very useful at 19f over fences; top jockey booked and yard can get them ready first time. Well-related gelding and Harry Cobden takes the reins; has to be of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (14/1 -40%)Mister Coko |
14/1(-40%) | (9) Mister Coko 14/1, Promising debut, did best of those up with the pace beaten 9 1/4l in a juvenile bumper at Huntingdon on debut; returning from a break; effective 2m, acts on good to soft; knew job on debut but should progress a little. A disappointing favourite at Huntingdon but should be wiser for that experience. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (50/1 -25%)Country Pursuits |
50/1(-25%) | (2) Country Pursuits 50/1, Far too free on poor debut when well beaten in a bumper at Doncaster only start; all to prove. 15-2 for a soft-ground bumper at Doncaster but was in trouble a long way out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

66/1(-32%) | (10) Shaheeq 66/1, Green and hung under pressure well beaten in a 4yo bumper at Naas only start; cheekpieces first time; effective 2m; should improve for initial experience. 33-1 and trailed home last on soft to heavy ground at Naas a month ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (200/1 +20%)Earl Chester |
200/1(+20%) | (3) Earl Chester 200/1, Outpaced, poor debut when well beaten in a bumper here only start; off a short-break; all to prove. A tailed-off last here in December when sent off at 200-1. |

Jetaway Holiday couldn't have won his point-to-point much easier and commands respect debuting under Rules for the powerful Nicky Henderson team. Pride Hill is a newcomer to watch out for and Merry Away has joined an in-form yard, but PRESLEY was noted as a potential improver when a staying-on third on debut at Chepstow and Dan Skelton's charge edges the vote.

An interesting bumper. PRESLEY smacked of a surefire future winner when third in a Chepstow race that's worked out well.

(1) (6/5 +31%)A Moments Madness |
6/5(+31%) | (1) A Moments Madness 6/5, Too keen but won comfortably in a handicap chase at Ffos Las by 4l last time; returning from long layoff; effective 2m2f-2m4f, acts on soft, good; capable of better for new yard. Won Ffos Las handicap last spring; hard to beat if fully tuned up for stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (7/2 -40%)Hollywood Harmon |
7/2(-40%) | (5) Hollywood Harmon 7/2, Improved again back from break beaten by useful rival when second beaten 7 1/2l in a hunter chase at Fakenham latest; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on good to soft and good; unexposed under rules, more to come judged on point wins. Ran big race behind once-smart rival at Fakenham last month; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/2 +25%)Bellaney Lord |
9/2(+25%) | (3) Bellaney Lord 9/2, Ran to form when winning a Mixed Open Point at Friars Haugh by 12l last time; effective 2 1/2m; multiple point winner, stiffer track should suit on rules return. 0-8 under rules but won open point by 12l on last month's reappearance outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (13/2 -63%)Greater Glory |
13/2(-63%) | (4) Greater Glory 13/2, Very promising effort 3/4l winner in a conditions race at Hutton Rudby on debut; returning from long layoff; form of point win franked, of interest on rules debut. Dual point winner last March but has more on his plate on this rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (10/1 +64%)Settle Down Jill |
10/1(+64%) | (6) Settle Down Jill 10/1, Outclassed comfortably held in a hunter chase at Haydock last time; probably needs 2m4f, acts on good; struggling for new yard; point winner, needs more under rules over fences. Didn't fulfill potential for Dan Skelton; well beaten on recent stable/hunter chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (14/1 -27%)Galon De Vauzelle |
14/1(-27%) | (2) Galon De Vauzelle 14/1, Pulled up in a hunter chase at Naas latest where outclassed; point winner; effective up to 3m with cut; bounce back needed. Pulled up good-quality Irish hunter chases on last two starts; makes stable debut today. |

HOLLYWOOD HARMON was no match for the Cheltenham Festival-bound Stattler at Fakenham last month, but a literal reading of her proximity to that one-time Grade 2 winner gives her the most solid credentials here. Bellaney Lord was a 12-length winner in a point-to-point most recently and has to be of interest on just his second start over regulation fences. The returning A Moments Madness is a class dropper to bear in mind on his debut in a hunters' chase.

A handicap winner last spring, A MOMENTS MADNESS looks an interesting hunter chase prospect for his new connections.
Ths is the racecard key.
