13:50 Stratford Conditions Hurdle (Class 3) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

SWIFT HAWK was an impressive winner on his hurdling debut over 2m at Taunton in December and it would be no surprise to see him add another victory to his record here, despite having to carry a 6lb penalty. Ragosina also won on her most recent outing and could prove to be the main threat to the selection. Simiyann is a nine-race maiden on the Flat but he has shown enough to merit consideration on his first start over timber.

It's highly likely SWIFT HAWK has more to offer on the back of his Taunton hurdle debut success and he can make light of his penalty. The chief threat will probably come from fellow hurdle winner Ragosina unless the betting speaks in the favour of hurdle newcomer Simiyann, who has some fairly useful form to his name on the Flat.

The last four winners of this race had already won over hurdles which is in favour of SWIFT HAWK, successful at Taunton in December.

14:00 Plumpton Novices Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CLOUD DANCER won a junior 'National Hunt' hurdle at Newbury last February which means he's able to retain his novice status. His sole outing this season was a promising effort behind a leading Cheltenham Festival handicap fancy in Doddiethegreat at Ascot and stepping up in trip promises to yield improvement. His stable companion Johnny Jump Up made a winning start at Fontwell and commands respect along with C&D winner Fierce Warrior.

An interesting opener. JOHNNY JUMP UP looked promising when successful on his Fontwell hurdle debut at the end of January and can get the better of stablemate Cloud Dancer. C&D winner Fierce Warrior looks best of the remainder.

Cloud Dancer has strong form claims and yet Niall Houlian is clearly sweeter on the chance of good Fontwell winner JOHNNY JUMP UP.

14:10 Taunton Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having made all for a facile win over course and distance in December, INSIDE MAN could be difficult to overhaul with a similar effort, in spite of a 7lb penalty. Dodger Long showed ability in bumpers last year, but ran green on his hurdles bow at Chepstow in January. Entitled to be wiser, Anthony Charlton's gelding still rates the biggest threat to the selection given Wonderful Delight, Diva B and Pooch all need to improve.

Jane Williams won this race last year and has the leading contender again in INSIDE MAN, who can add to his C&D success before Christmas. Dodger Long, the mount of Harry Cobden, can follow him home ahead of bumper-winner Lightning Flash.

After going close on his debut, INSIDE MAN breezed to a very comfortably C&D success on his second outing.

(1) Enjoy Your Life 6/4, Fairly useful ex-French winning hurdler/chaser who bounced back from a couple of fairly heavy defeats when accounting for 3 rivals at Taunton (23f, soft) last month. 4 lb rise looks manageable and he's clearly a big player.

14:20 Stratford Handicap Chase (Class 4) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ENJOY YOUR LIFE had plenty in hand when scoring over 2m7f at Taunton a few weeks ago and the seven-year-old is hard to oppose off just a 4lb higher mark here. Mortens Leam hit the crossbar over the same track and trip 11 days ago and is likely to be in the mix once again. The rest all have some questions to answer but Morning Spirit is just the pick of them.

MORTENS LEAM remains 12 lb below his last winning mark following a 3 lb nudge for his back-to-form second at Taunton where he pulled a long way clear of the third. The 12-y-o clearly retains a fair level of ability judged on that effort and he is an appealing alternative to Enjoy Your Life, who got back on track last month and is greatly respected. Morning Spirit's record stands at 1-14 over fences and he will need to return to his best in order to trouble the aforementioned rivals.

The veteran MORTENS LEAM showed that the ability remains when runner-up at Taunton 11 days ago. He could collect if able to repeat it.

14:30 Plumpton Handicap Chase (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SIR ROCK has improved for the switch to the larger obstacles having scored on both occasions over C&D and, more recently, at Fontwell in January. A 4lb rise for his latest success may not be enough to stop Toby Lawes' gelding from taking another step forward. Elpologreg had plenty go right for him when getting off the mark at Fakenham last time. He is likely to be in the mix, while American Gerry has been given a chance by the handicapper.

SIR ROCK hasn't looked back since sent over fences and a 4 lb rise for his latest Fontwell victory doesn't look sufficient to prevent him from completing a hat-trick. Fakenham-scorer Elpologreg appeals as the one to chase home Toby Lawes' 7-y-o ahead of the enigmatic Baddesley.

This looks quite weak and SIR ROCK must have every chance of completing a hat-trick. He still looks well handicapped.

14:40 Taunton Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The betting market will be informative, with the likes of Siam Park, Taritino and Victory Club all rated potential improvers. However, Paul Nicholls has won two of the last five renewals of this contest and the Ditcheat handler can strike again as he sends BYZANTIUM out on a tried and trusted path for his hurdles/UK debut. The selection showed stacks of promise winning his sole start on the Flat in France and is pitched in at a realistic level here.

French-recruit BYZANTIUM will likely be tough to beat on his hurdle debut for Paul Nicholls. Siam Park has shown promise in a couple of similar races at Wincanton and is the obvious one to chase him home.

Preference is for SIAM PARK who has shown plenty of ability in a point and in making the frame in two starts over hurdles at Wincanton.

14:50 Stratford Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Milldam has to be respected having won two of his last three starts, but marginal preference is for the returning PLAYFUL SAINT. Dan Skelton's gelding has been off the track since finishing third in the Imperial Cup in March last year and he catches the eye off a 4lb lower mark. Schmilsson remains unexposed over hurdles and is another with valid form claims.

PLAYFUL SAINT reappears off a mark 4 lb lower than when third in the very competitive Imperial Cup at Sandown a year ago and he'll take a bit of stopping if still capable of that level of form. Handicap hurdle newcomer Schmilsson is feared most ahead of Milldam.

Progressive novice SCHMILSSON, a winner at Sedgefield last month, is taken to beat the in-form Milldam and Playful Saint.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SALVATORE has displayed some promise on his three hurdling starts to date and the application of cheekpieces once again, along with a tongue-tie, may see him step forward on his handicap bow. Sanitiser wasn't disgraced when fourth at Kempton in November and appears likely to have more to offer. Garitsa Bay hasn't shown much in novice hurdles but he has to be of interest on his first start in this company.

There should be better to come from dual Flat winner SALVATORE now that he moves into handicap company off what looks a fair opening mark. Sanitiser is clear second choice on the back of his eye-catching spin at Kempton, which was his first start over hurdles for the Gary Moore yard, while Crews Pitch and Uncle Arthur both have each-way claims.

There are alternatives but dual Flat winner SALVATORE (nap) has to be of interest sent handicapping at this lowly level.

15:10 Taunton Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

An easy winner at Lingfield on his first start after wind surgery, JUST OVER LAND could have plenty more to give and rates a big player despite the handicapper imposing a 10lb hike for that 18-length success. Paul Nicholls bids for back-to-back winners of this race and his previous course winner, Centara, could be the one to give the selection the most to think about. Despereaux and Diamatiste are a couple of others with each-way appeal.

JUST OVER LAND was in a different parish to his four rivals at Lingfield last month and, with the possibility of better to come, a 10 lb rise is unlikely to be enough to prevent him from going in again. Irish-import Ca Plane Pour Moi shaped better than the bare result at Leopardstown during the Christmas period and he could be a factor on debut for his new yard. If on-song Inferno Sacree won't be far away, while Despereaux and Winterwatch both make some each-way appeal.

Just Over Land has a strong chance but Irish challenger LAKE MANZALEH goes into his first handicap with Michael O'Sullivan booked.

Pipers Cross was an easy winner over 3m1f at Huntingdon eight days ago and is shortlisted under a 7lb penalty. Similar comments apply to Goguenard, who has won two of his last three starts in a determined manner. However, FRANKIE FAULKNER is 1-2 over timber and, with the trip and ground to suit, Evan Williams' gelding has a live chance of carrying top-weight to victory now back over hurdles.

PIPERS CROSS confirmed her previous promise for her current yard when gaining a first hurdles success at Huntingdon 8 days ago and she can score again in her current form. Frankie Faulkner won on his second start over hurdles last summer and could be the biggest threat back in this sphere, while Goguenard is also respected.

After her easy win eight days ago PIPERS CROSS should be hard to beat with a penalty. Goguenard looks her main danger.

JERRASH looks well placed to strike switching to hurdles for this assignment. Second over fences at Fontwell last time, that wasn't a bad run but he wasn't as fluent over his fences as his supporters would have liked so coming back over timber and dropping in trip looks ideal. San Pedro won over C&D two starts ago and heads the list of dangers from I See You Well.

This race has got JERRASH written all over it on the back of his solid second with blinkers enlisted in a handicap chase at Fontwell. He was a winner over C&D on his sole previous visit here last season and has slipped to a handy mark. San Pedro is the pick for forecast purposes ahead of I See You Well.

It's hard to rule out any of the four but SAN PEDRO is perhaps the safest option after his last two efforts.

DE RASHER COUNTER failed to fire at Kempton last time but the veteran has every chance of playing a leading role here if reproducing the form of his previous second at Sandown. First Lord De Cuet is another with strong form claims if leaving a poor run behind him on his most recent outing. Cases can be made for all of the remainder but Broken Halo is the pick of them.

The Venetia Williams yard endured something of a blip during the time of LASKALIN's poor effort in the Royal Artillery at Sandown, but the winners have been flowing again of late and the 9-y-o had shaped as though coming to hand when fourth over a trip similar to this at Lingfield previously. His proven stamina will count for plenty and the Williams yard saddled the winner of this race last year. Broken Halo is feared most given doubts surrounding First Lord De Cuet stamina-wise.

Preference is for BROKEN HALO, who posted a pretty good effort last time and might have untapped potential over this sort of trip.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The progressive DOYOUKNOWWHATIMEAN posted a commanding performance at Lingfield 18 days ago and even a 10lb higher mark may not be able to prevent the Dan Skelton-trained gelding from following up. The hat-trick seeking Force De Frap is an obvious threat based on his consistent profile over fences, while One Fine Man and You Say Nothing are both better than what they mustered on their most recent starts.

This looks to rest between FORCE DE FRAP and Doyouknowwhatimean with preference for Emma-Jane Bishop's hat-trick seeking gelding who can edge out Dan Skelton's recent Lingfield scorer in what promises to be a close-run thing at the weights. You Say Nothing appeals as the pick of the rest for minor honours.

Having won in fine style at Lingfield last time DOYOUKNOWWHATIMEAN (nap) is taken to follow up by beating Force de Frap.

16:00 Plumpton Handicap Chase (Class 5) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BORN AT MIDNIGHT brings winning C&D form to the table which is key at a track like this. Providing this doesn't come too soon after last week's success, the nine-year-old is mostly consistent and looks up to going in again under a 7lb penalty. Delgany Monarch unseated his rider at Wincanton latest but it's a positive that he's back at the Sussex track given he won here in April last year. Flemen's Tipple should run his usual honest race.

HARD FROST has a poor run to shrug off but he'd been developing a solid record over fences prior to that and he's worth a chance to get back on the up. Recent-scorer Born At Midnight is an obvious threat and Flemen's Tipple has the potential for better after just one run in this discipline.

A chance is taken on HEAD ON. This is easier than last time at Doncaster where he ran well for a long way.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LADY BALKO arrives here on the back of two wins last month and even a 7lb rise for the most recent of those victories may not be enough to stop her here. That said, The Midwife got off the mark under Rules at Market Rasen a month ago and is an obvious threat to the selection, while San Fermin could also go well.

LADY BALKO is going the right way and is fancied to defy a rise for her C&D success last month. The Midwife was quite impressive when scoring at Market Rasen on her latest outing, so she's regarded as the main threat ahead of handicap-debutant Outside Adesa.

Some of these are still unexposed but the most obvious answer is LADY BALKO (nap), who is bidding to complete a hat-trick.

16:20 Stratford Hunter Chase (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A difficult race to unpick and what can only be described as a tentative vote goes to FIL D'ARIANE. Douglas White's nine-year-old was still thereabouts when coming to grief two from home in the Royal Artillery Gold Cup at Sandown. A drop in trip might suit the son of Gris De Gris and official ratings suggest he ought to hold every chance. Grand Roi finished second at Fakenham 24 days ago and he is the main danger, while Forest Chimes rates best of the rest.

FIL D'ARIANE has made a positive start to life with Douglas White and can get off the mark for his new yard at the chief expense of Franigane who also arrives in good order for a new stable. Grand Roi and Bawnmore need considering too in this open hunter.

The vote goes to FRANIGANE who was a fair chaser at up to 2m4f so will be well suited by this trip. Grand Roi is next best.

COLOURS ON CANVAS remains an unexposed quantity and can continue on an upward trajectory despite the burden of top-weight. Stepping up in trip here last month unlocked another gear and, judged on his novice form, there are reasons to believe that the handicapper might not have caught up with him yet. The hat-trick seeking Nordic Tiger and Small Bad Bob appear to be the most obvious threats on paper.

NORDIC TIGER and Colours On Canvas are both going the right way but the former may be open to a bit more improvement, so he gets the marginal vote in a race that the pair could dominate. Small Bad Bob is another one to consider.

A tight finale. It was an eventful race in which COLOURS ON CANVAS dominated here last time but he might well have won regardless.

ARDMAYLE hasn't been in the best of form this season, but Ali Stronge's 12-year-old is down to a competitive mark and, eased in class, a resurgence might be on the cards. Filanderer has occupied the runner-up spot on each of his two starts over fences and is an obvious threat with further improvement likely, while Gorcombe Moonshine could prove to be the best of the remainder.

FILANDERER has made a positive start to his chasing career, beaten by progressive types twice, and this doesn't look quite as strong, so he's worth a chance to open his account in this discipline. Gorcombe Moonshine should be on the premises and Tonto Foley has a bigger effort in him over fences.

The vote goes to FILANDERER who has finished runner-up in both starts over fences and the form of each contest has been given a boost.

Saint Kristobal and Ballywite both represent powerful yards and will undoubtedly have their supporters, but STAFF SERGEANT LEN shades preference. Anthony Charlton's gelding struggled when pitched in at Listed level on his racecourse bow, but it was a different story at Fontwell last time when he was just touched off. With further improvement likely and given he lines up in receipt of weight from his elders, he is taken to go one better.

SAINT KRISTOBAL has been picked up by a top yard after winning a point and he's capable of supplementing that on his first go under Rules. Ballywite makes plenty of appeal on pedigree and Staff Sergeant is unlikely to be far away with a repeat of the form he showed when second at Fontwell last time.

The most interesting one is Paul Nicholls' new recruit SAINT KRISTOBAL, who was bought for a six-figure sum after his Irish point win.

17:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ARLECCHINO'S GIFT has been knocking on the door with a handful of placed efforts over C&D in recent weeks and it would be no surprise to see the five-year-old get his head back in front. Bear To Dream appreciated the return to 6f when scoring at Chelmsford and she is likely to go well back in handicap company. Bungle Bay and My Boy Jack are others capable of being in the mix.

A tightly-knit handicap in which marginal preference is for MY BOY JACK who signalled he's ready to end a losing run when a good recent Southwell runner-up. Fellow C&D scorer Arlecchino's Gift could emerge as the main danger, although a solid case can also be made for Bungle Bay, Bear To Dream and Doc Sportello in a very open contest.

Bungle Bay is solid but a reproduction of ARLECCHINO'S GIFT's recent placed efforts might suffice in this field.

17:10 Taunton Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The vote goes to SOLAR SYSTEM, who would not need to be anything out of the ordinary to defy an opening handicap mark of 95. The five-year-old is a half-brother to three separate winners in France so it would come as no surprise were he to step forward on this occasion. Battle March reached the frame in a similar C&D event last month and a similar performance would bring him firmly into the reckoning. Others to note include Talimar Pearl and Getmetothemoon.

SOLAR SYSTEM caught the eye under a patient ride when fourth in a recent novice here and can build on it to get off the mark now going handicapping off an attractive mark. Fellow debutant in this sphere Getmetothemoon also looks a likely improver and is next on the list, although in-form maidens Whynotnowroy and Talimar Pearl can both have a say too in this open contest.

The suggestion is handicap debutant SOLAR SYSTEM, who moves up in trip after a promising reappearance run over 2m here last month.

17:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

JACQUELINA was just denied in the final strides over C&D on her latest start and Phil McEntee's mare, who won here in January, is more than capable of proving too strong for the opposition. Basholo finished second here last Monday and has to enter calculations off the same mark, while Teresa Grace is respected based on her runner-up effort at Southwell at the beginning of the year.

Lots with chances. BASHOLO arrives in excellent nick and is able to race off the same mark as when a good recent C&D second so edges the vote. Doctor Mozart can also boast winning C&D form and is next on the list ahead of Melly's Flyer, who didn't enjoy the rub of the green here last time.

There could be more to come from MINTANA (nap) this year and she makes plenty of appeal with a recent run behind her.

18:00 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Coppersmith made a winning debut at Kempton last month and Charlie Johnston's colt, who is related to numerous middle-distance performers, is expected to benefit from stepping up in trip. Galactic Charm placed on all three starts as a juvenile and boasts strong credentials following a gelding operation, but the vote goes to KNEWONE. Having not shown much on debut at Yarmouth last August, he ran a lot better to finish third here last month and the extra distance is likely to help.

KNEWONE was never sighted on his sole 2-y-o start for Charlie Johnston but he looked a different proposition when a strong-finishing third on return/debut for new yard over 8.6f here last month. The additional yardage of this race will help and, with further improvement likely, he gets the nod. The Johnston yard fields a strong candidate in Coppersmith, who made a winning start at Lingfield, while Galactic Charm is also greatly respected.

Knewone looked a surefire future winner on his stable debut but COPPERSMITH won well on debut and is fancied to defy his penalty.

18:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 3) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Having finished behind a couple of decent yardsticks when third in a deeper race at Lingfield 10 days ago, INCRIMINATION would have a strong chance of gaining a first success on Tapeta if she can find a little more off the same mark here. Newcastle novice winner Eleutheromania is respected on her handicap debut, but the class-dropping Glorious Angel, who runs off 2lb below her last wining mark, is feared most given she is more proven at this sort of level. Algheed also warrants a betting check.

It's easy enough to forgive ENOLA GREY for what was probably nothing more than a 'bad day at the office' at Newcastle on Friday. Indeed, she is generally reliable and this quick turnaround won't be an issue (she scored on the back of a four-day break in December). Algheed has been knocking on the door and looks sure to give another good account, while Eleutheromania, who landed a novice event on debut for this yard 10 days ago, is open to improvement now pitched into a handicap.

Incrimination is a player on her Polytrack form but GLORIOUS ANGEL should capitalise on what is effectively a big class drop.

19:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Running off 10lb below her only previous winning mark, POWDERING is worth chancing on these terms. The selection wasn't beaten far when she finished fourth in a deeper race over this course and distance last month and can do even better from a more advantageous draw this time around. Weloof and Stella Hogan are a couple of others who have been knocking on the door of late, while recent C&D winner Bossy Parker commands attention too.

BOSSY PARKER showed bags of enthusiasm when landing a C&D event 3 weeks ago and, from a good draw, he may be capable of dominating this contest, so he's preferred to Stella Hogan, who arrives on the back of a solid showing at Kempton. Diamondsinthesand also makes the shortlist.

This can go to BOSSY PARKER whose C&D win three weeks ago has been given a boost by the subsequent wins of the third and fourth.

19:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Sir Titan and Edmund Ironside are speedy types who can set a good tempo. However both are drawn wide and may simply set this up for a closer. With that scenario in mind, none appeals more than KING OF SPEED, who swooped late and fast when scoring over this course and distance on his penultimate start. A respectable second off this same mark six days ago, the selection is thriving on being kept busy and can give the Loughnanes another winner to add to the tally.

EGOISTE has been shaping up well in 2024, looking unlucky not to win (conceded first run) when second at Kempton in February before needing a stronger gallop at the same course last time. He can gain a first win of the year, though King of Speed also arrives in good form and isn't taken lightly. Edmund Ironside completes the shortlist.

The vote goes to KING OF SPEED who won over C&D last month and performed just as well when runner-up at Southwell subsequently.

20:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CRYPTOS DREAM bounced back from a poor effort to finish second over an extended 1m1f here last time and she could be very hard to beat off the same mark. That said, Moon Over The Sea won here two starts ago and should not be underestimated, while Zumaaty and High Court Judge are others who merit places on the shortlist.

Having dropped in the weights, MOON OVER THE SEA scored readily here in January under Rossa Ryan and he is taken to resume winning ways with the same rider back on board. The main danger could be Cryptos Dream, who wasted no time getting back to form when runner-up at this course last time, while Uncle Dick has now dropped below his last winning mark.

If Uncle Dick breaks on terms then he'll go close but CRYPTOS DREAM is marginally preferred.

20:30 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SUNSET IN PARIS sets the standard having won a similar event over 1m2f at Lingfield on his most recent outing, which was his second win from his last three starts. The unexposed Thelastwinterarrow looks to have the ability to go well at this level and may benefit from first-time blinkers, while Reformed Character and Well Prepared are the pick of the remainder.

The recent record of SUNSET IN PARIS makes him a bit of a standout in this field. Thelastwinterarrow has much fewer convictions than the majority of these and is feared most on the back of her decent handicap debut run at Southwell. Reformed Character may prove best of the remainder.

Sunset In Paris can boast recent winning form but there are grounds for expecting much better from PIERREFONDS this evening.
