13:40 Leopardstown Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

CAPTAIN CODY narrowly holds Backtonormal and Blizzard Of Oz on Naas form and showed ability in bumpers at this shorter distance. All three are closely matched on these same terms, with the selection having also defeated Backtonormal by 10 lengths, when 5lb better off, in January. The selection also also defeated stablemate Blizzard Of Oz by 6.5 lengths when receiving 5lb in a January 2023 bumper. Blizzard Of Oz's finishing effort at Naas was disappointing but, of the trio, he is a strong-traveller who could be most suited by this distance. Top-weight The Other Mozzie defeated Purse Price by 4.5 lengths to win at Down Royal in December but is now 12lb worse off. Both have been well beaten on their most recent runs though. Bumper winner Mill House Creek debuts over hurdles against experienced rivals, following a break.

Willie Mullins looks to hold a strong hand and his very good prospect CAPTAIN CODY is confidently expected to resume winning ways on the back of an excellent recent Naas second. Stablemate Blizzard of Oz fluffed his lines when fifth at Naas last time but remains capable of better and is next on the list ahead of Backtonormal and The Other Mozzie.

Captain Cody is likely to be a warm order but his stablemate BLIZZARD OF OZ may be worth chancing back down in trip

13:55 Huntingdon Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MIXEDWAVE continues to be in cracking form after filling second place in a class 4 event at Market Rasen last time and he is only 1lb higher here. Pam Sly's seven-year-old takes a drop back down in grade and could be hard to beat. Emotional Memories wasn't beaten far into third over the smaller obstacles at Lingfield last month and he has to be considered on his chasing debut, while Mackie Dee is another to note after his third at Market Rasen.

This can go to MIXEDWAVE, who continues to go from strength to strength this term and Pam Sly's most likeable 7-y-o can notch a fourth success over the larger obstacles. Venetia Williams has had a couple of winners this week and her Grizzly James may emerge as the main danger if able to leave a disappointing effort behind at Lingfield last month, with Committee of One rounding off the shortlist.

Second to an improver on his stable debut in November, MAASAI WARRIOR might be too good for Mixedwave.

14:05 Doncaster Novices Hurdle (Class 3) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Although TAKE NO CHANCES was ultimately pulled up on her handicap bow at Newbury in January, she looked to hold every chance but for losing all momentum with a bad mistake at the penultimate hurdle. Compensation could await Dan Skelton's mare now pitched back into novice company, where the main threat may emerge from Lily Luna. The six-year-old is a potential improver now upped in distance, with the lightly-raced Floating Line making most appeal of the remainder.

A couple of the more likely sorts have- dropped out, so this is probably best left to LILY LUNA, who looks very competitive on form and should be suited by the longer trip. Marmalade Time and Shakeyatailfeather have the form to play a part also.

The Dan Skelton-trained SHAKEYATAILFEATHER was an encouraging fourth on her stable debut at Taunton and gets the nod.

14:15 Leopardstown Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

CROOKED TANNIE returned to form when failing to concede 8lb to a Cheltenham-bound winner last month. He defeated today's rival Master Otis easily when 5lb worse off at Tipperary last July and showed that old sparkle at Thurles. Zeeband was a stayer on the flat but his best hurdles' form was achieved over this distance in January. The nicely-in Gowran runner-up scored subsequently but both he and Clonshire River had been well beaten in a Christmas handicap hurdle. Clonshire River has recent form but might struggle to win. Gabriel Ranger is a dark horse and while beaten four and three-quarter lengths by Master Otis last March, was in contention when falling behind Clonshire River at Thurles. Previously reported to have 'hung violently right' at Punchestown in January, he isn't straightforward but has ability. Master Otis ran well behind easy winner Tullyhill in January but flopped recently. Lord Vader has some heavy-ground flat form but might prefer a sound surface.

A repeat of the form CROOKED TANNIE showed when second at Thurles last time will likely be good enough to go one better now. Clonshire River is another who arrives on the back of a runner-up effort at Thurles and rates an obvious threat. The shortlist is completed by Lord Vader whose Flat ability provides him with the potential to leave his C&D hurdle debut form behind.

GABRIEL RANGER was in the process of running a nice race before coming down last time and he may build on that run

14:30 Huntingdon Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WILFUL failed to carry a penalty to success on his third bumper start at Catterick, but he was far from disgraced in second and it would be no surprise to see him make an impact on his debut over timber. South Omo Zone struck on his first start for Anthony Charlton in a bumper at Hereford in January and he could have a say, while any market confidence behind Danny's Friend would also be of interest in this open contest.

Those with hurdling experience don't set the bar too high so this looks a good opportunity for Jonjo O'Neill's fairly useful bumper winner WILFUL to make a successful start in this sphere. Balhambar appeals as the pick of those to have raced.

Bumper winner WILFUL is proven on soft ground and looks the one to beat now he goes hurdling.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

It may pay to persevere with the in-form MARGARET'S LEGACY, particularly now faced with a stiffer test of stamina. A 1lb rise in the ratings for January's runner-up effort at Warwick looks more than fair for Tim Vaughan's charge and he edges the vote ahead of Scrum Diddly. The six-year-old could be freshened up by a 79-day break and this represents a drop in class. Lagonda would also enter calculations if ground conditions were to deteriorate.

SCRUM DIDDLY figures on a handy-looking mark so is taken to open his account over fences in a handicap where several arrive with question marks against them. Both Margaret's Legacy and Lagonda were not foot perfect on their most recent starts at Warwick and Market Rasen respectively but still command plenty of respect and can chase home Harry Derham's 6-y-o in that order.

They all have questions to answer. There is a possible stamina issue but otherwise MARGARET'S LEGACY looks the most solid candidate.

14:50 Leopardstown Conditions Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ASHDALE BOB mightn't need to improve in today's first-time cheekpieces to win, as he takes a breather dropping in grade. His previous win came in April 2021 but has contested many hot races since and while dropping in distance isn't ideal, retains good ability. Veteran Cash Back won a legless Clonmel hurdle in December and while beaten in a more charitable event at Punchestown on February 18, might still struggle to concede 5lb to the selection. Consisstent novice Dee Capo ran well behind a useful winner at Navan in November. He returns from a break with his rider claiming 5lb but faces a stiff test. Nine-time winner Effernock Fizz is held by Cash Back on July form while Sir Allen has plenty weight.

ASHDALE BOB hasn't managed to get his head in front for almost 3 years, but he's shaped as if as good as ever this season, so Jessica Harrington's 9-y-o gets the nod back down in trip/grade. Cash Back came out on top in what was an attritional contest at Clonmel a few months ago and he looks like the most obvious danger on return, with Dee Capo seemingly best of the remainder.

CASH BACK is a consistent sort and while his latest win came over three miles, he's looked just as effective over this sort of trip

15:05 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ROYAL RHYTHM won by over four lengths in this grade at Wetherby on Boxing Day and he now has a 6lb higher rating to contend with. The son of Jet Away has really hit the ground running since joining the Jonjo O'Neill stable, and he can make it three wins from four starts for his new connections. Damarta won very nicely at Southwell last time and could go well off 9lb higher on only his third handicap start, while Bluegrass finished a close-up third over C&D last month and is another to watch out for.

ROYAL RHYTHM made it 2-3 for Jonjo O'Neill with a bit to spare at Wetherby on Boxing Day, and with his limit for this yard probably not yet reached, he's fancied to shrug off a 6 lb rise. Jipcot has headgear on for the first time since his days in France and he represents a stable in form, with Greystoke another to consider at the foot of the weights.

Olly Murphy's DAMARTA (nap) got his act together with an emphatic win in January and could still be well treated after a 9lb rise.

15:15 Doncaster Handicap Chase (Class 3) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ICONIC MUDDLE once again found just one rival too strong when runner-up at Kempton last month. The 11-year-old races off the same mark in this contest and he looks to hold every chance of going one place better now pitched into veteran company. Crosspark clearly still retains plenty of his ability having been collared in the shadows of the post at Market Rasen on Boxing Day. Nick Kent's gelding may give the selection most to think about, while First Lord De Cuet is noted too.

Plenty to consider but STORM CONTROL is worth another chance in veteran company off a tempting mark down in class with his yard bang in form. Iconic Muddle ran a cracker on his first go at this trip when second at Kempton and is another to consider along with admirable 14-y-o Crosspark.

Most can be given an each-way chance but ICONIC MUDDLE (nap) tops the list from Fidux and Risk And Roll.

15:25 Leopardstown Handicap Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

CLEAR THE CLOUDS is a 13-race maiden who drops in distance but has recent heavy-ground form. Placed over 2m1f last July, his two recent runs have been encouraging, with the winner of the Navan race boosting the form by scoring subsequently. Gamigin was beaten in his first 17 hurdle runs but has won his last two. He is 8lb higher than when winning at Down Royal but his same rider claims an extra 3lb. Tuckmill was reported to have blood at both nostrils on each of his last two runs, including when winning in December (with Sunwalk finishing fifth and Ivane seventh). He returns from a break on more testing ground and is 5lb higher than at Naas, when his rider claimed 4lb. Clever Currency won last year's renewal but was well beaten twice recently. Milk Market debuts in handicaps returning from a break while Magic Olinger ran well on his own recent handicap bow. Coillte Aris was gambled at Clonmel and is now tried in a first-time tongue-tie while first reserve Papa Barns was reported to have hung badly left on his previous run and reverts down in distance.

GAMIGIN has an 8 lb weights rise to overcome but Noel Kelly's thriving 6-y-o is still fancied to complete a hat-trick given the smoothness of his two successes at Ayr and Down Royal. The much less exposed Magic Olinger has better days ahead of him and heads the list of dangers, although a solid case can also be made for the likes of Coillte Aris, Clear The Clouds and Milk Market.

It might be worth taking a flyer on POETS COTTAGE who has had excuses on his last couple of starts and he may resume progress

15:40 Huntingdon Handicap Chase (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Runner-up in a valuable handicap at Cheltenham in January, LOUNGE LIZARD sets the standard on form and can strike now dropped in grade off a 3lb higher mark. Soft ground is another plus, and he is preferred to the Wincanton scorer Dibble Decker, as well as General Medrano, who is a capable sort on his day. Eximia is another to note for market support on her first run in the UK.

EXIMIA starts off for Venetia Willams off a temping mark given the useful form she showed in France for previous connections so gets the vote over Lounge Lizard, who arrives on the back of an excellent second in a Premier Handicap at Cheltenham. Last year's winner Dibble Decker also needs considering.

The vote goes to LOUNGE LIZARD, who was an excellent second in a hot Cheltenham handicap in January.

15:50 Doncaster Handicap Chase (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having previously won over the extended 2m3f here over hurdles, OKAVANGO DELTA has solid form credentials based on peak efforts and, given he has bags of scope to improve over fences, the Rose Dobbin-trained gelding might take some stopping. The consistent My Gift To You is 2-3 in chases so far and also warrants serious thought following his second-placed finish at Southwell latest. Pilgrims King is another to note in the betting.

A few in with a squeak but MY GIFT TO YOU has yet to run a bad race since joining James Owen, and having pulled clear with an improved rival at Southwell last month, he's fancied to regain the winning thread at the expense of Gambie Tiep, who possibly needed the run at Ffos Las recently and returns with his yard firing on all cylinders. Pilgrims King and Okavango Delta can fight out minor honours.

The 6yo MY GIFT TO YOU has done very well over fences this season and is taken to make it three wins from his four chase starts.

16:00 Leopardstown Handicap Chase 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The lightly-raced SNAKE OIL won a 2m4f Fairyhouse maiden hurdle and, following a year lay-off, has shaped well in handicap chases over shorter trips including at this venue. The Barry Connell-trained gelding was beaten just over a length at Naas last time and should be suited by this step up in distance. Birchdale landed the valuable Leopardstown Chase off a similar mark two years ago and won a cross country race at Punchestown on his last completed start. Now Where Or When can be fancied on his third to Kemboy in the Bobbyjo Chase last year, while Grandero Bello handles soft ground well but needs to overcome an absence of over ten months. Digby has come up against some useful sorts over fences and now tackles handicap company.

NOW WHERE OR WHEN has had excuses since an excellent third in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse a year ago so could be worth chancing off a tempting mark back in a handicap. Genois and Digby head the dangers.

Preference is for the gradually improving SNAKE OIL, who will appreciate the step up in trip on this ground

16:15 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Second on each of her three starts for these connections, PIPERS CROSS deserves a change in luck and she may just get that stepping back up in trip. Chauffeur Driven has shown a modicum of promise in novice hurdles and the former point-to-point winner is another who could benefit from this stiffer test of stamina. Nimbus Boy and Watchoutitscookie are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

David Pipe has been among the winners in recent days and 3m point winner CHAUFFEUR DRIVEN appeals as a likely improver now stepping up significantly in trip for his handicap debut. Pipers Cross has made a good start to life with Robbie Llewellyn and looks the obvious danger.

Handicap debutant CHAUFFEUR DRIVEN is yet to go beyond about 2m under rules but he won a 3m Irish point last spring and appeals most.

16:25 Doncaster Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This is tougher than the races Velasco and Ismael landed on their most recent starts and, while they command respect as last-time-out winners, the class-dropping LADY MENDOZA looks the way to go. The selection was last seen finishing a close second in a much deeper race at Musselburgh in November and, given that effort came on the back of a break, Rebecca Menzies' mare appears well placed to make a winning return to action. The lightly-raced Aeronisi is feared most reverting to hurdles off a competitive mark.

A wide-open handicap but LADY MENDOZA chased home a progressive rival at Musselburgh when last seen in November and, from the same mark, he looks the way to go back up in trip. A bounce back from Diamond Twin would come as no surprise given the yard he represents, with Aeronisi one to monitor closely in the market back from a long time off.

His 2m4f win on heavy going looked encouraging for his prospects at this longer trip, so ISMAEL gets the vote. Aeronisi is next.

16:35 Leopardstown Handicap Chase 28f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

WHERE'S FRANKIE is a real Fairyhouse specialist (his last nine runs have been at the track) gaining all four career wins at that course over three miles and further. The Karl Thornton-trained gelding showed great reserves of stamina when successful over 3m2f on his penultimate outing, with Pictures Of Home about six lengths behind in fourth, and hopefully he can translate his good form to this venue. Young Dev stays well and is suited by testing ground and returned to form when scoring at Navan last month. Cavalry Master has dropped in the ratings and gave some encouragement at Gowran last time, while any support for Outside The Door would be interesting.

CAVALRY MASTER took a big step back in the right direction fitted in this headgear when second at Gowran 2 weeks ago and is potentially on a good mark if building on that. Where's Frankie and Pictures of Home are feared most.

The selection is WHERE'S FRANKIE(nap) who stayed well to win at Fairyhouse before a good run over shorter there last time

A promising third on his debut at Fairyhouse in December, MA SHANTOU has since joined new connections and looks the one to beat on his British debut. Reteti shaped well over shorter here last November and the rise in distance looks a major positive, while Carismatic Soldier makes his debut for a stable that knows how to ready one first time out.

Having chased home a pair trained by Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott starting out at Fairyhouse, MA SHANTOU changed hands for £120,000 and a repeat of that form may well suffice here. Jax Junior is a threat on his runner-up effort over C&D, while Carismatic Soldier is a likely-looking newcomer.

Emma Lavelle's new recruit MA SHANTOU made a very promising debut on soft ground at Fairyhouse in December and gets the nod.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

VISION OF HOPE was only narrowly denied when third off this mark over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last month and the step up in trip could see her return to winning ways. Easy Equation has also been running well in defeat of late and could prove to be the main threat to the selection, ahead of Heatherdown Hero and Kiss My Face.

EASY EQUATION has reached the podium on both outings for Charlie Fellowes and this thorough stayer gets the verdict to record a fourth career success. Vision of Hope looks back to near her best on the evidence of her recent outings and rates as the main threat, with Freewheelin a tentative pick for third.

While EASY EQUATION is not prolific he is consistent and for one who can hit flat spots in his races the stiff finish here should suit.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A convincing winner of a similar race on his racecourse debut at Carlisle in November, MISTER MEGGIT has been given plenty of time to get over those exertions and looks up to coping with a 7lb penalty here. That said, the son of Shantou faces a stiffer test this time with Paul Nicholls' expensive newcomer Super Saint suggested as one to seriously consider if he's supported in the betting. The Dan Skelton-trained The New Lion is another to bear in mind.

MISTER MEGGIT looked very good on debut and has to be the call but newcomer De Kingpin would need to be considered if the money came for him.

The Jonjo O'Neill-trained MISTER MEGGIT created an excellent impression on his debut at Carlisle in November and can defy a penalty.

Just two of these have run and Buckaway Freddie showed some promise when runner-up to Kap De Triomphe in a five-runner event at Naas. It may pay to rely on one of the newcomers and perhaps NITTY GRITTY can make a successful start. The Joseph O'Brien-trained gelding is from the first crop of Order Of St George and hails from a family of bumper winners including his half-sister Lionnar who scored at the Curragh last summer. Rural Link, a half-brother to Cuban Hope who won five times up to 1m4f, is a rare bumper runner for Jim Bolger while Man Of Action and Kilbarry Ace have eye-catching jockey bookings and are others to note in the preliminaries and the betting market.

BUCKAWAY FREDDIE will come into his own over longer trips tackling obstacles but he still looks up to winning a bumper first judged on a promising runner-up effort at Naas 3 weeks ago. Glynn Brae and Rural Link could be the pick of the newcomers.

This can go to Joseph O'Brien newcomer NITTY GRITTY who looks bred for the part

17:25 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

In an open race, marginal preference is for ABRAAJ, who improved for a wind operation to finish a neck third in a higher grade at Kempton last time. Off the same mark here, the six-year-old could be hard to beat. Recent winners Ney and Yakhabar are others who arrive here with strong form claims, while Alchemystique is the pick of the remainder.

ABRAAJ was beaten only narrowly despite being unfavoured by the run of the race at Kempton last time and he's fancied to make amends here, though the presence of the potentially well-treated Ney should mean the selection has plenty to think about. Zephlyn backed up January's C&D success with a sound effort at Southwell and can complete the placings.

A few hold chances but one who can beat them all is ABRAAJ who should really have won last time at Kempton.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

It is very hard to oppose ARMY ETHOS, who has not been seen since going down by a neck in the Coventry at Royal Ascot last year. If the son of Shalaa is anywhere near that level of form here, it is very hard to see him being beaten. Pocklington won over C&D on his debut in January and may have more to offer, while Bare Elegance completes the shortlist.

ARMY ETHOS only had the 2 starts last year but he sets a clear standard after his excellent second in the Coventry at Royal Ascot. This looks a good opportunity for him to make a winning return to action, with debut-winner Pocklington the one who can give the selection most to think about.

Pockington is a promising sprinter but Coventry Stakes runner-up ARMY ETHOS sets a high standard.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A drop in trip and quick turnaround proved no barrier to success for BONITO CAVALO, who landed a five-timer over 5f here last time out. The handicapper has reacted by putting Jim Goldie's charge up a further 7lb in the ratings, but that may not be enough to break his winning sequence. He's An Angel is chasing a fifth straight victory himself and the four-year-old isn't taken lightly, while fellow in-form rival Sibyl Charm is unlikely to be far away either.

Several in-form contenders, with preference for BONITO CAVALO who has racked up a 5-timer at this course already in 2024. He can go on to extend his winning sequence, though He's An Angel is also unbeaten so far this year and isn't taken lightly. Sibyl Charm is another who arrives in good heart and she completes the shortlist.

This will take some winning with a few of these on a roll right now. HE'S AN ANGEL has been good value for his narrow winning margins.

LOVE DE VEGA justified strong support in the market when landing the spoils at Chelmsford last week and a 4lb rise in the ratings looks far from insurmountable. Charlie Johnston's inmate is fancied to complete a double, possibly at the main expense of four-time course winner The Caltonian. Linda Perratt's charge has a career-high mark to overcome, but he isn't easily dismissed at this venue. Greatgadian, Trip To Rome and Star Zinc are other likely players.

A quite useful and competitive handicap. GREATGADIAN didn't enjoy the rub of the green at Kempton last time and gets another chance to show he can win from this mark. Star Zinc and The Caltonian both know where the winning post is over C&D and head the many dangers along with Love de Vega.

On A Session and Misty Grey are of some interest but GREATGADIAN can make amends for his unlucky run at Kempton last time.

19:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Moon Flight found that a 4lb rise in the handicap was enough to thwart him in his double bid when runner-up over C&D last time out. The four-year-old is unlikely to be far away off the same mark this evening, but he may find his January 19 conqueror, PEPSI CAT, too strong once more. Steph Hollinshead's progressive mare lost little in defeat when a close-up third at this track last month and she looks more than capable of scoring at this level. Jenever is also worth a second look.

PEPSI CAT has thrived on the AW this winter so makes as much appeal as any of these in what is a wide-open contest. The return to 5f will suit Blind Beggar so he's of interest, with Zarzyni completing the shortlist given he's very well weighted these days.

Pepsi Cat and Moon Flight are greatly respected but BLIND BEGGAR should be a force to be reckoned with back into a Class 4.

20:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The race was arguably won and lost at the start when Desert Master (winner), Tip Top Tank (second) and GRID IRON MAIDEN (fourth) clashed over 5f here last month, with the last-named fancied to turn the form around over this longer trip. The selection missed the break and had to switch wide as that race unfolded, which did her no favours at all. With a sharper getaway, she should take closer order and the sixth furlong could prompt a stronger finish from Brian Ellison's filly on just her second run in a handicap.

There are reasons to think PIPER'S FORT can improve for the switch to handicaps after 6 months off so gets the nod over Desert Master and Tip Top Tank, who finished first and second in a similar event here 12 days ago.

The well-backed SOUTHBANK (nap) did it a shade cosily at Wolverhampton and is taken to defy a 3lb rise. Tip Top Tank is feared.

20:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KING OF YORK has only raced here once before but is a much wiser and more competitively-weighted contender this time around. The draw has also been kind to the Scott Dixon-trained five-year-old, whose recent form stands up to scrutiny in this company. As is the case with the selection, Ivasecret won with a bit in hand on his penultimate start and looks worth a try back at this trip after a near-miss over 1m at Chelmsford on Thursday. The well-handicapped San Isidro is another with strong place claims on these terms.

A few with chances but IVASECRET has really found his form again since joining Ian Williams so is fancied to quickly resume winning ways on the back of a very good recent Chelmsford City second. C&D winner Novak is next on the list, although the returning Makeen and course-scorer One More Dream both warrant plenty of respect too in an open contest.

7f at Newcastle brings out the best in KEEP ME STABLE and she earns the vote now back here and back down in trip.
