(6) Brickadank 17/2, Finally got off the mark when just holding on here (19.2f, soft) 29 days ago but not an obvious one to follow up.

14:00 Market Rasen Handicap Chase (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ZARA'S UNIVERSE kept on well to score over 2m at Southwell 16 days ago and still has plenty of room to move off just 3lb higher. Superstylin was a respectable third in that race but was readily brushed aside by the selection in the closing stages. Therefore, the recent course winner Brickadank is suggested as a bigger threat on this occasion, with the drop back in trip potentially countering a 4lb higher mark.

SUPERSTYLIN wasn't seen to best effect when 11 lengths behind Zara's Universe at Southwell 16 days ago and is fancied to come out on top this time aided by a 4 lb swing in the weights.

Top of the list is C&D winner ZARA'S UNIVERSE, who made it 3-9 over fences when scoring at Southwell two weeks ago.

(3) Golden Maverick 4/6, Fairly useful 5-time winner on the Flat (stays 14.5f) for Ian Williams. New connections acquired him for 100,000 gns in the autumn and promise amidst inexperience in making frame both starts over hurdles, latterly when third in a Ludlow maiden (15.7f) 4 weeks ago. Big shout with more to come.

Exploits on the level offer hope she can do better in this sphere at some stage. Cheekpieces on 1st time.

Beaten fav last time but even a repeat of that form should see him right in the mix.

14:15 Haydock Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GOLDEN MAVERICK has proven costly to follow since turning his attentions to the jumps. This does not look the strongest of contests, though, and any further improvement might suffice. Glorious Lion posted another solid effort when occupying the runner-up spot at Kelso 10 days ago and he is the main danger, while Aire Spray, who showed promise in a couple of bumpers before falling on his hurdling bow last time out, might prove to be best of the remainder.

A fairly useful, 5-time winner on the Flat, GOLDEN MAVERICK has twice shaped with promise over hurdles for his new yard, seemingly finishing with something left when third at Ludlow 4 weeks ago. Open to further improvement and with conditions holding no fears, he can come out on top. Glorious Lion, who is also getting the hang of things over hurdles, rates the lead threat.

Both GOLDEN MAVERICK and Glorious Lion are likely to be seen to better effect on drier ground but they can still dominate this.

14:30 Market Rasen Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

EXCELERO, runner-up to Triumph Hurdle third Salver on debut, was thrown in at the deep in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last time and is very hard to ignore dropping back down to this level. The application of a first-time hood can keep the selection focused and, with ground conditions to suit, the four-year-old is readily fancied to be too good for the likes of Glimpse Of Glory and hurdles-debutant Opera King at this stage.

EXCELERO took a step forward from his encouraging hurdling debut effort when third behind Sir Gino in a Cheltenham Grade 2 in January and he rates the one to beat returned to calmer waters with further progress in the offing. Glimpse of Glory should appreciate the demands of this track judged on her debut effort at Wetherby and is a threat. Opera King is also worth a look on hurdles bow.

This looks a good opportunity for EXCELERO, who ran well behind Sir Gino in a Grade 2 event at Cheltenham in January.

Solid fourth at Cheltenham subsequently (strong form) and capitalised on the drop in grade at Catterick since. Remains of strong interest at this level.

Underwhelming at Ayr last time but promising second on chase debut at Carlisle previously.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

14:45 Haydock Handicap Chase (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

There aren't many as consistent as Glory And Honour, who hasn't finished outside of the first two home in his last seven chase starts. Raised 2lb in the handicap for his latest second at Musselburgh last month, he is unlikely to be far away, but PRAIRIE WOLF might prove to be too strong. Sue Smith's charge recorded a comfortable victory at Catterick last month, having been far from disgraced in a warm Cheltenham contest previously, and a subsequent 7lb hike does not look insurmountable. Heros can chase the pair home.

PRAIRIE WOLF is a chaser who is very much on the upgrade and has sound claims of adding another win to his tally kept to this level. Heros got back on track when just edged out at Wetherby so is feared most.

Having won in good style at Catterick last time, the unexposed chaser PRAIRIE WOLF can make it three wins from his last four starts.

15:00 Market Rasen Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Dan Skelton appears to have found a good opportunity for the lightly-raced THEFORMISMIGHTY to prove his worth on his first start since having a wind operation. The fitting of a tongue-tie can also benefit the selection, who takes a step down in class. Dr Seb ran well over an extended 2m here when last seen and could improve now up in trip, while Anytrixwilldo was a disappointing favourite at Chepstow last time but cannot be ruled out given his obvious scope to improve.

THEFORMISMIGHTY weakened out of things having helped force the pace at Warwick in January but he'd previously showed plenty to work on when third at Newbury in December and, having undergone wind surgery ahead of this (also fitted with a tongue strap) he's fancied to get back on track with the Skelton team in excellent order. Anytrixwilldo promises to be suited by this increase in trip and he's worth monitoring. Dr Seb can do best of the remainder.

This looks a bit trappy but Dan Skelton's THEFORMISMIGHTY gets the vote ahead of Dr Seb and Anytrixwilldo.

15:15 Haydock Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The vote goes to LADY PRETENDER, who was prominent in the betting ahead of her stable/UK debut last month. Venetia Williams' mare struggled to make an impact that day, but she can improve for that experience on her second run following wind surgery. Dameofthecotswolds marks highly for consistency and she ought to go well in receipt of weight from her elders, while Barrons Land weakened over 2m4f at Musselburgh last time out and could improve for the drop in trip.

DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS returned to form when third behind subsequent Triumph Hurdle-third Salver in the Victor Ludorum over C&D 32 days ago and a repeat of that could well be enough to see her score here in receipt of weight all round. Ascending Lark, now hurdling/following a wind op is worth a look on debut for Harry Derham, with Phone Home another who is fancied to be in the mix.

This could be a good opportunity for the hurdling newcomer ASCENDING LARK to make a winning start for Harry Derham.

15:30 Market Rasen Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FLINTARA has undergone wind surgery since a highly creditable runner-up effort at Huntingdon last month, and a 2lb rise seems lenient as she looks to make it two wins from her last three starts. Richard Bandey's charge gets the vote ahead of the Wetherby second Pougne Aminta, as well as Midnight Ginger, who has been quite consistent of late and should appreciate the step up in trip.

An excellent opportunity for FLINTARA to quickly resume winning ways in what looks a thin race. Pougne Aminta is next best.

Preference is for FLINTARA, who was runner-up at Huntingdon last time and is open to more progress on her first run after wind surgery.

15:50 Haydock Handicap Chase (Class 3) 28f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Having scored at Southwell and Wetherby last month, Ali Star Bert warrants respect in his bid for a hat-trick. A 3lb rise for his latest victory looks fair, but it could be worth taking the eight-year-old on now he's upped into class 3 company. JUBILEE EXPRESS ticks plenty of the right boxes having posted a respectable second at Lingfield latest and Sam Thomas' inmate may be able to shake off a 5lb higher mark. O'Connell has the form to be involved too.

ALI STAR BERT probably did well under the circumstances when making it 3 wins from his last 4 starts at Wetherby 3 weeks ago so shades the vote over the quirky O'Connell, who is capable of winning off his current mark but needs to be played as late as possible. Jubilee Express is another to consider.

The progressive 8yo ALI STAR BERT could prove well suited by this step up in trip, and he earns the vote ahead of Jubilee Express.

16:05 Market Rasen Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This can go the way of WOODIE FLASH, who was disappointing when last seen in November behind two rivals that have done well since, but he had impressed at Warwick before that. Returning to softer ground should be a plus and he may have too much for the consistent Accidental Legend, who has been in the first two on each of his last three outings. Dillarchie and Sister Michael are entitled to be thereabouts as well.

WOODIE FLASH most likely found the race coming too soon at Lingfield when last seen in November and is well worth another chance under a competent 10-lb conditional. Accidental Legend is considered the main threat of Sister Michael.

The vote goes to four-time hurdle winner ACCIDENTAL LEGEND, who was a good second on his step up to 3m1f at Catterick last month.

16:25 Haydock Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Last-time-out Southwell scorer KILTA looked way ahead of the handicapper and the Curtain Time gelding is taken to make easy work of an 8lb rise in the ratings. Not for the first time, Yealand didn't run to his best ability at Carlisle earlier this month. Jennie Candlish's inmate shouldn't be judged too harshly on that fifth-placed defeat and he isn't taken lightly judged on previous performances, while Romeo Brown is likely to enjoy a return to this distance.

KILTA looked a long way ahead of his opening mark when scoring in stylish fashion at Southwell 16 days ago and is highly likely to go in again. Yealand ought to be competitive once more and is feared most ahead of the class-dropping Gaelik Coast.

The suggestion is KILTA (nap) for whom an 8lb rise could have been worse given how comfortably he won at Southwell.

BILLYTHEREALBIGRED made it two wins from two starts in handicaps when running out an easy winner over 2m at Warwick earlier this month and, upped just 4lb, he should take some stopping in search of the hat-trick. Martin Spirit scored readily on his first start since undergoing wind surgery over 2m at Plumpton last week and even with a 7lb penalty to shoulder, he is the main danger to the selection. Earth Cry completes the shortlist on his first start in handicap company.

BILLYTHEREALBIGRED has shown improved form switched to handicaps on his last 2 starts, making a winning stable debut with ease at Warwick 10 days ago, so he is the one to beat as he bids for his hat-trick. Martin Spirit gained his first success over hurdles at Plumpton on his latest outing and could be the biggest threat, ahead of Earth Cry.

This can go to BILLYTHEREALBIGRED, who is 2-2 in handicaps and is only 4lb higher than for his runaway win at Warwick last time.

17:00 Haydock Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although President Scottie could be described as a fortuitous winner having been left in the lead to open his account at Ayr last month, a current rating of 117 looks workable for Nicky Richards' charge. However, fellow in-form rival NORTH PARADE has been shaping as if this step up in distance could unlock further improvement and the nine-year-old edges the vote. Hashtag Boum and Shantou Moon are others to consider.

Plenty in with a squeak but preference is for PRESIDENT SCOTTIE, who was a fortunate winner of an Ayr maiden just over 5 weeks ago but promises to be suited by the nature of a handicap and remains open to improvement. Blue Baloo is another stepping into handicaps for the first time and she may emerge as the main danger, with Hashtag Boum and Shantou Moon taken to fight out third.

The handicap newcomer PRESIDENT SCOTTIE has displayed staying promise in 2m4f novice hurdles at Ayr and he's the selection.

17:30 Southwell Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NIGHT RAIDER created a big impression when winning over C&D on his debut in December and the son of Dark Angel is hard to oppose on the back of that performance, despite carrying a 7lb penalty. Cogitate won on his racecourse bow in July before showing promise in the Acomb on his next outing and he has to be of interest. The rest all look to be up against it, but West End Lass is the pick of them.

A potential match between NIGHT RAIDER and Cogitate. The latter didn't do himself justice when sent off favourite for the Acomb at York but Night Raider looked something out of the ordinary when making a winning start over C&D in December so shades the vote.

Exciting prospect NIGHT RAIDER is one to follow. Cogitate appears to be the only realistic threat in this field.

18:00 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JEANS MAITE was not at her very best last time but can be given another chance here as she was second over C&D off this mark on her penultimate outing. The drop to 5f may help McCauley's Tavern and he could prove to be the main threat to the selection, although Beneficiary and Mehmo are others who have valid form claims.

JEANS MAITE is handicapped to win again and she should be spot on after a respectable fifth back from a break here last week. The booking of Rossa Ryan catches the eye on Abolish, who may emerge as the main threat from a tumbling mark.

The assured strong gallop should work in favour of MASTERCLASS who now goes in blinkers.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MY CHIQUITA was third off this mark at Chelmsford on her most recent Flat outing in September and the five-year-old has won both subsequent starts over hurdles. With that in mind, the daughter of Postponed gets the vote back on the level. Lunar Shadow has to be of some interest on her return from a break, while Upepo and Caldwell are best of the rest.

UPEPO continues to run well and is still not necessarily handicapped out of things, so gets the vote over Pons Aelius, who's lurking on a dangerous mark back down in class. My Chiquita also needs considering having won her last 2 starts over hurdles.

Although absent since October, MY CHIQUITA was in good form under both codes back then and she's worth chancing.

19:00 Southwell Handicap (Class 4) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The stewards intervention denied ISLE OF SARK (demoted to second) from victory when he clashed with Fox Flame (promoted to first) over C&D earlier this month, but the six-year-old can put the record straight if he maintains a true line this time. Having also gone agonisingly close at Newcastle latest, the selection is thriving on being kept busy and, with Saffie Orborne taking over in the saddle, he's taken to strike. Mount Olympus is also noteworthy.

An interesting handicap with the vote in favour of AYYAB. A low-mileage 4-y-o, she was very impressive when opening her account at Kempton in the autumn and, with this more suitable than her listed assignment thereafter, she's fancied to go well from what rates a handy mark. Isle of Sark is knocking firmly on the door and feared, with Ninth Life, who wasn't seen to best effect latest, also considered. Fox Flame can also figure.

The least exposed contender is AYYAB, who looks interesting back down in grade. Mount Olympus is second choice.

19:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A case can be made for virtually all of these, but BERKSHIRE PHANTOM has an impressive strike-rate on the all-weather and, having gone close in a similar race last time out, there are solid reasons to expect another bold showing from this previous course and distance winner. The pick of the rest is King Of York, who has also been admirably consistent of late and is well worth another try over this trip. Sluzewiec and Local Bay complete the shortlist.

KING OF YORK's sole success came over C&D last month and having held his form on both subsequent starts, Scott Dixon's 5-y-o gets the nod to double his tally at the expense of Berkshire Phantom, who fared best of those held up when runner-up over C&D last week and should be bang there with a repeat. Blackjack and David's Diva complete the shortlist.

On the back of a good C&D effort, BERKSHIRE PHANTOM holds particularly strong claims. King Of York is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ARLECCHINO'S GIFT escapes a penalty having scored in an apprentice handicap at Wolverhampton last week and the five-year-old should take all the beating if coping with a quick turnaround. The biggest threat may emerge from Tilsworth Ony Ta, who shouldn't be inconvenienced by a return to this distance. Toptime and Miss Moonshine are other key contenders in their current fettle.

ARLECCHINOS'S GIFT built on his run of placed efforts when opening his account for the year at Wolverhampton 9 days ago and, racing off the same mark, he is taken to follow up in his current form. American Rose made an encouraging reappearance and could be the main danger with that run behind her, ahead of Tilsworth Ony Ta.

With her reappearance form working out very well, AMERICAN ROSE (nap) gets the firm vote. Toptime is second choice.

20:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A 4lb rise for ENDLESS POWER's triumph at Wolverhampton last month looks far from insurmountable. This return to a mile shouldn't hamper the four-year-old's follow-up bid and he's taken to complete a double. Master Of Combat posted a solid third over C&D earlier this month and a similar performance should see him in the fold once more. The Invincible Spirit gelding is feared most, ahead of Visibility.

ENDLESS POWER has fewer miles on the clock than most in this contest and he's fancied to follow up from last month's Wolverhampton success. Master of Combat is a generally consistent sort and should go well again, with Visibility another player if able to replicate his recent second over 7f here.

This looks the time to catch FRANCESI, who has a good reappearance record. Visibility is second choice.
