The Bunt

5/1(-25%)
(6) The Bunt 5/1, Still to win but he's taken his form up a level since sent handicapping, runner-up at Lingfield (2m) 42 days ago. That form has been franked so he's a player now making his turf debut.
Lightly raced; good second in a couple of 2m AW events since handicapping.

Furzig

9/1(+10%)

Two Brothers

5/1(-25%)
(1) Two Brothers 5/1, A three-time winner last term who signed off with victory in 9-runner handicap at York (11.8f) in September. Goes well on soft ground so he needs considering.

Captain Haddock

17/2(-143%)

Dubai Crystal

6/5(+52%)

Not fully exposed; new trip is likely to suit; interesting on debut for new yard.

13:20 Doncaster Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Previously under the tutelage of Karl Burke, DUBAI CRYSTAL ended last year's campaign with a solid fourth at Chester. The daughter of Fastnet Rock has shaped as if today's stiffer test of stamina could unlock some potential and she's taken to making the perfect stable debut for George Boughey. The biggest threat may emerge from Two Brothers, who was last seen scoring at York in September, although a race-fit Throne Hall also warrants consideration now reverting to turf.

A competitive event in which marginal preference is for DUBAI CRYSTAL who handles these underfoot conditions well and could have improvement to come in 2024 now starting out for George Boughey with few miles still on the clock. The Bunt has yet to race on turf but is weighted to go well on the back of his very good Lingfield second last time out, while both Captain Haddock and Two Brothers need factoring in too.

The least exposed contenders are DUBAI CRYSTAL and The Bunt, preferred in that order.

13:25 Naas Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

HARBOUR GEM was placed twice in testing conditions last October and can make a winning start here for new trainer Dermot Weld. The Zoffany filly chased home a smart-looking sort in the Weld-trained Azada when last seen at Leopardstown and a similar effort may be enough to open her account now. Obviously, the Ballydoyle newcomer Fleetingly deserves respect. The Justify filly is out of top race-mare Alice Springs and is a half-sister to Group-placed filly Prettiest. Mo Ghille Mar and Wendla are others with placed form as juveniles who have to be considered.

FLEETINGLY is by Justify out of connections' very smart Alice Springs so this Group 1 entered filly has the right profile to make a winning start. Harbour Gem showed a good level of ability when placed in maidens at Thurles and Leopardstown so is the obvious threat, while Wendla is also bred in the purple and is worth another chance to confirm debut promise.

HARBOUR GEM has the experience of two fine runs in these conditions, so is taken to score.

(5) Geezer Rockstar 14/1, Won 13-runner Taunton bumper on debut in April. Fair form when beaten just under 15 lengths into fourth on his hurdles debut at the same venue but proved to be a disappointment at Exeter when last seen in January.
Promising start before struggling on heavy; needs improvement to get involved here.

Zanndabad

3/1(-9%)
(15) Zanndabad 3/1, Useful Flat form but finished well held on first attempt at Fairyhouse in November, not helped by jumping errors. Much more like it when runner-up at Musselburgh last month despite making mistakes again but he has the raw ability to win a maiden hurdle. Back up in trip.
Excellent second last time at Musselburgh; brings strong form claims back into a maiden.

(13) Vincenzo 7/4, Placed on the second of 2 starts in bumpers and built on a promising hurdling debut after 11 weeks off when second to an above-average prospect at Warwick (19f) in January. Another sound effort over C&D since and a tongue tie now on after a breathing operation.

(11) Strutter 25/1, Well backed and promising start over hurdles when second of 18 at Newbury in December. Folded tamely at Huntingdon a month later and now goes up in trip.

(12) The Winslow Boy 66/1, Showed more than he did in his bumper when fourth of 12 in a maiden hurdle at Hereford in January, not unduly punished. Likely to build on that, but this is a better race.
There's ability there but whether he's up to winning an Ascot maiden is debatable.

Got stuck in the mud on hurdling debut; definite contender on his bumper promise.

13:35 Ascot /Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ZANNDABAD bounced back to form when filling second place in a valuable handicap at Musselburgh last month and he could be hard to beat if reproducing that level of form here. Vincenzo has shown promise on all three of his previous starts over hurdles and he may benefit from a first-time tongue-tie following a recent wind operation. Idefix De Ciergues edges out Old Time Chaser and Bare Meadows to be best of the rest.

ZANNDABAD could do with brushing up his jumping but there's definite scope to do better in this sphere based on his Flat ability, so he's awarded the tentative vote in what is an open race by maiden hurdle standards. Ballyfin performed with credit in a warm C&D race last time so he's a threat, along with Vincenzo on the back of a breathing operation.

Subsequent EBF Final runner-up Pic Roc won the C&D maiden in which VINCENZO wasn't beaten far here last month. This looks easier.

13:45 Limerick Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

WHIMSY has twice filled the runner-up spot behind Willie Mullins-trained odds-on shots this winter and may have found a good opportunity to open her account over hurdles. The daughter of Charming Thought won twice on the Flat for Andrew Balding as a three-year-old and has proved a model of consistency since sent hurdling this term. Lazer Wolf has yet to score in point-to-points, bumpers or hurdles but has certainly been knocking on the door. The Gavin Cromwell-trained gelding will not lack for experience and probably ran a career best last time when runner-up to American Money at Naas. Eco Pete won a bumper for John McConnell and was placed a couple of times over hurdles but is unproven on testing ground.

This will probably develop into a match between WHIMSY and Lazer Wolf with the 7 lb sex allowance the former receives tilting the scales her way.

A poor a maiden with the weight allowances favouring WHIMSY (nap) over Lazer Wolf

13:55 Doncaster Handicap (Class 3) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

BUST A MOVE relished the rise in distance when opening his account over 1m1f at Newmarket in November. The Ribchester gelding should have more to come now faced with a stiffer test of stamina and he could make light work of a 9lb rise on his seasonal debut. Although a well-beaten sixth, Curran was clearly thought capable of overcoming his opening mark of 87 judged on his starting price, also at Newmarket. A subsequent gelding operation could see an improved bid from Charlie Johnston's charge, while Prepschool and Caelan aren't easily dismissed either.

BUST A MOVE continued his theme of race-by-race progress when signing off his 2-y-o campaign in the perfect fashion at Newmarket in the autumn, and with his revised mark more than fair, it's worth chancing his fitness. Timeless Charm is the type to make up into a better 3-y-o so he's on the shortlist, with Caelan also dangerous given he's fit and in form.

Twice-raced TIMELESS CHARM looks worth another chance to confirm the promise of her debut win. Mach Ten is second choice.

14:00 Naas Stakes 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

PORTLAND sets a good standard here off his official mark of 108. The Dubawi colt was last seen finishing third in Group 1 company in Saint-Cloud and handles this type of ground, having won a Galway nursery in heavy. Purple Lily looks like the sort who could improve at three and she may be the danger. Paddy Twomey's charge got up late on to win a Galway maiden last August and that form has worked out well since. Chicago Critic won his maiden in testing conditions over C&D in mid-October and is another with the potential to improve.

PURPLE LILY looked potentially smart when overcoming greenness to make a winning start in impressive fashion at Galway in August so can find the required improvement to beat Portland, who sets a clear standard judged on his third in the Group 1 Criterium International at Saint-Cloud in the autumn.

Paddy Towmey has started the season well and his Galway maiden winner PURPLE LILY can justify her entries in both 1,000 Guineas

14:10 Ascot Handicap Chase (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ROCKINASTORM appeared to have plenty in hand when scoring over 3m at Ludlow last month and that was his third win from just five starts over fences. Off a 6lb higher mark here, the seven-year-old could add another victory to his record. Godot was only narrowly denied on his most recent outing at Plumpton and another good effort can be expected, while Invincible Nao and King's Threshold complete the shortlist.

STORMINHOME had been knocking on the door before getting stuck in the mud at Southwell 3 weeks ago so is worth another chance with conditions more in his favour here. This does look competitive, though, with Jacks Touch and Invincible Nao heading the dangers.

This might be run to suit strong-traveller KING'S THRESHOLD, who has made a solid start to his chasing career.

14:20 Limerick Conditions Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SPLASHING OUT won over C&D back in November and went close to following up again at this venue over Christmas. The Eoin Griffin-trained mare obviously handles heavy ground well and now takes a drop in class after finishing down the field in a valuable handicap at the Dublin Racing Festival. Queen Nell left previous maiden form well behind when justifying support in very testing ground at Gowran Park earlier this month. She easily drew clear in the closing stages to land that 16-runner maiden and has scope for further improvement. Miss Agusta was an expensive purchase just after finishing second in the 2022 Land Rover Bumper at Punchestown. She made a successful start over hurdles at Galway last autumn but has disappointed twice since.

SPLASHING OUT must cast aside a tame effort at Leopardstown but she sets the clear standard on his C&D handicap success in November so she looks the way to go. Queen Nel was impressive at Gowran a fortnight ago and is the obvious threat.

With a proven record around here on heavy ground, SPLASHING OUT gets the vote ahead of recent Gowran winner Queen Nel

14:30 Doncaster Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There looked to be room for plenty of improvement in BALMACARA's debut third at Newmarket in November. That form has worked out well, with the winner subsequently landing a Listed event in France. Eve Johnson Houghton's gelding could take all the beating if stepping up on this return, although both Manhattan Mirage and Strong Opinion are likely capable of better too. The latter is feared slightly more on the balance of his exploits.

One-million-pound yearing STRONG OPINION was much improved from debut when beaten only by a useful sort at Newmarket in November and gets the nod over Balmacara, who made a promising start when third on the same card at the Rowley Mile. Ghaihaban looks capable of winning one of these so is another to consider.

The percentage call goes to BALMACARA, whose 2yo effort has been franked. Ghaihaban is second choice.

14:35 Naas Listed 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

KNIGHT TO KING ran with credit in a couple of stakes races following an impressive maiden win last season and there may be more to come from the Kingman colt this year. He was far from disgraced in soft ground in Group 2 company on just his second career outing in France last July and finished the campaign when fourth to Layfayette in the Royal Whip at the Curragh. Any improvement on those efforts would probably be enough to claim this. It's interesting that Aidan O'Brien starts Queenstown off in Listed company, despite a rating of just 82. The Galileo gelding improved with racing last season and could improve again from three to four. Serious Challenge already has a run under his belt, finishing seventh in the Irish Lincoln on Monday, and is another for the shortlist.

Preference is for SERIOUS CHALLENGE, who has race fitness on his side after a satisfactory return over a shorter trip at the Curragh last week. Knight To King and Sunchart are feared most.

SERIOUS CHALLENGE ran a cracker under a big weight in the Irish Lincoln six days ago and can win this.

14:45 Ascot Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Royal Way has to be of interest following two victories at Ludlow in recent months, but marginal preference is for KADO DE JOIE. Nicky Henderson's gelding got off the mark at Market Rasen last month and that form suggests that an opening mark of 110 should be workable. Hamsiyann also put in a career best on his most recent outing and should not be discounted, while Kourosh is another to consider.

This looks competitive. Irish-raider HAMSIYANN should have plenty of scope from this sort of mark judged on his Flat ability and gets the vote, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Kado de Joie and the hat-trick seeking Royal Way head the many dangers in an interesting race.

If forgiven a below-par run last time then there's good reason to believe that KOUROSH could be on a fair mark for his handicap debut.

DESERT FRIEND won four times on the Flat in the UK and also scored both over hurdles and fences for Denis Hogan. The selection has shaped well on both outings since joining Snezzy Foster this winter including when third to Whiskeywealth (won again since) at Naas last month. Champagne Mahler made all for a convincing win at Gowran Park on Thyestes Chase day and was far from disgraced subsequently off an 11lb higher mark at Naas. Mag Dillane won over C&D last time while Zeeband also comes here off the back of a maiden win at Leopardstown. Grace Faraday drops back in trip and can't be lightly discounted while Surf Club appears one of the lesser lights at Closutton but any market move on handicap debut would be interesting.

MAG DILLANE was well supported and upped her game to open her account over hurdles in a maiden here last time so, with her mark only marginally altered since, she's worth a chance to go in again. Zeeband is an obvious danger and Surf Club will be a major player if he can get close to his bumper form on handicap debut.

An encouraging third behind a subsequent chase winner on his second start for this stable, DESERT FRIEND has good each-way claims

15:05 Doncaster Handicap (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

There are a few who will relish forecast ground conditions, including Aleezdancer, who won this off the same mark on his reappearance last year. He merits respect, as does Ayr Silver Cup winner Wobwobwob and the veteran Bernardo O'Reilly, who will appreciate a strongly-run affair. However, a chance can be taken on WOVEN. Michael Dods' charge has often gone well fresh previously and, from a competitive rating, looks set to mount a stern challenge. Tinto is another to consider.

ALEEZDANCER was an impressive winner of this race under similar ground conditions on his 2023 reappearance and can repeat the feat having dropped back to the same mark as 12 months ago. Knebworth shaped well on his AW reappearance and is second choice ahead of 2022 winner Bernardo O'Reilly. Woven, who has a fine record here and when fresh, completes the shortlist.

Dakota Gold and Woven are greatly respected but ZIP, fit from the AW and well suited by track and ground, can come out on top.

15:10 Naas Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Aidan O'Brien won this last year with Paddington and MILITARY could prove a class act in this renewal. The Siyouni colt was well touted before making a winning debut here in September and ran with credit in a couple of stakes races subsequently. He was third in the Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown on his final start in heavy ground. Take Me To Church comes here fit from the all-weather and was placed in testing conditions here last October. He could be a danger. My Mate Alfie ran well in a couple of valuable sales races towards the end of last season and is another for the shortlist.

TAKE ME TO THE CHURCH ran well here last October and has since scored twice at Dundalk. He gets the nod in a tricky-looking handicap. Military and Guildenstern head the list of dangers.

Preference is for GUILDENSTERN who fulifilled early potential to land a Leopardstown maiden in October and could have a good season

15:20 Ascot Handicap Chase (Class 2) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

This can go the way of THELASTHIGHKING, who has shown plenty of pace over further the last twice and should be suited by dropping back in distance on this occasion. A winner of two of his last four starts in this sphere, Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge is narrowly preferred to Martator, who bounced back to winning ways with a taking performance at Newbury earlier in the month. Frere D'armes has shown little in recent starts but is well capable on his day for in-form connections.

Although FRERE D'ARMES was pulled up in the Grand Annual at last week's Cheltenham Festival he's the mount of Harry Skelton from his yard's 2 runners here and might be able to stage a revival in this easier race and back on a sounder surface. Recent Newbury winner Martator is second choice ahead of Thelasthighking.

Topweight THELASTHIGHKING posted two good seconds in the autumn and earns the vote now back from a break. Walk In Clover is feared.

15:30 Limerick Maiden Hurdle 19f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SUMMER MELODY beat Found A Fifty in a Navan bumper and showed promise over hurdles including when beaten only two lengths behind Longhouse Poet over 2m4f here at the 2022 Christmas Festival. The Charles Byrnes-trained gelding has obviously had training issues since as he's only run once when disappointing in a Listed race here last October and some market support would be encouraging. The well-bred Gold In The Rivers cost 220,000 euro at the Derby Sale and has shown some promise in three outings including behind stablemate Twoohthree at Leopardstown earlier this month, while Moudan is another to consider after finishing third behind the odds-on Angostura at Gowran.

GOLD IN THE RIVERS has shown a fair level of ability to date and the impression is that he's yet to reach his limit, so he's fancied to improve past Summer Melody, who has an underwhelming reappearance to put behind him. Moudan is the pick of the remainder.

Highly regarded at the time of his Navan bumper win in 2022, SUMMER MELODY may now begin to get his career back on track

15:40 Doncaster Handicap (Class 3) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

STRESSFREE rounded off last season with a comfortable win on heavy ground at Nottingham, an effort for which he was raised 4lb. The unexposed four-year-old looks set to have his ideal conditions once again and is taken to repel the challenge of There's The Door, who will appreciate the return to handicaps having failed to make an impact at Listed level on her last two starts. Ensured should be ready to roll following a couple of spins on the all-weather and he is an interesting contender with Silvestre De Sousa aboard, while it is difficult to rule out grand veteran Euchen Glen.

STRESSFREE built up a likeable profile last season and is very much the sort to make a better 4yo, so he makes plenty of appeal for an in-form yard. Ensured is well treated returning to turf, so he's a big threat along with Baryshnikov, who tends to do well at this time of year.

There could well be more to come from STRESSFREE (nap), who is taken to follow up his autumn success. Ensured is second choice.

15:45 Naas Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

DUKE OF LEGGAGH may be worth a shot here on his return to action. The grey ran a big race on this card last season when chasing home Paddington in the Madrid Handicap and went on to win by a wide margin in Navan subsequently. He had more on his plate after that but has slipped back to a nice mark and catching him early in the season again may be the best time. Zephron was a wide-margin winner on this kind of ground at the Curragh in November. He got a 15lb hike for that but has to be respected. Solar Breeze was narrowly edged out on her last outing at Dundalk in late January. She's another interesting one here on her first outing for new trainer Daniel McLoughlin.

LOINGSEOIR is dangerously well handicapped and might be worth chancing to leave Monday's reappearance run over an inadequate 5f at the Curragh well behind and resume winning ways. Spanish Tenor, who tasted success in this race in 2022, and Sirjack Thomas are two with a chance for the Ado McGuinness yard. Zephron and Mr Rango are others with claims in a race where the market could prove informative.

Preference is for DUKE OF LEGGAGH, in terrific form this time last year and back down to that sort of mark now

15:55 Ascot Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A tentative vote goes to REDBRIDGE RAMBLER, who was slightly unlucky when carried left and short of room late on at Sedgefield last month. That represented arguably a career best for the six-year-old and the step up in trip should suit as he looks to get the better of Plumpton scorer Nickelforce and Face D'music, who makes his handicap debut following a couple of decent efforts at Hereford. Others to note include Perculator and Rebel Intentions.

Plenty are in with a shout. NICKELFORCE deservedly got off the mark at Plumpton last time and can make light of a 6 lb rise in the weights now his stamina is drawn out more. Much Too Dear starts out in handicaps on a lenient mark and could emerge as the chief threat after his break, with Perculator and Face d'Music well in the mix too.

Bottom weight MAC'S LEGACY has strong claims if judged on his clear second to a three-time subsequent winner at Hereford in January.

16:05 Limerick Handicap Chase 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Point-to-point winner LETS GO CHAMP won over hurdles last year and was also second in a valuable handicap at the Punchestown Festival. The brother to Scarlet And Dove is likely to prove better suited to fences and may open his chasing account here after coming up against some smart types this term. Dancing Jeremy recorded a fourth career win over an extended two miles at Thurles last month with Hgranca De Thaix, who should enjoy this longer trip, about ten lengths back in third. The lightly raced Coqolino gave encouragement when third to Idas Boy at Punchestown in November but has been disappointing since.

LETS GO CHAMP went down only to the smart Embassy Gardens at Punchestown when last seen in December and can make a successful switch to handicaps with further progress likely. Last month's Thurles winner Dancing Jeremy can give him most to think about.

Although given a 10lb hike for his Thurles win DANCING JEREMY can follow up here over this longer trip

16:15 Doncaster Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

PERSEVERANTS was no match for an impressive winner in this last year, but the son of Zoffany is 4lb lower now and would appear to hold excellent claims in his bid to go one better. Beelzebub has been running well on the all-weather and must enter the reckoning, for all that he does need to improve on last year's turf form. Broken Spear shaped with encouragement on his reappearance at Newcastle and is not without a chance.

With his recent run behind him, preference is for BROKEN SPEAR who has dropped below his last winning mark and has conditions in his favour. He is taken to land a second C&D success, with Beelzebub feared most arriving in good form from the all-weather. Evocative Spark also enters calculations with the return to this longer trip to suit.

Off a handy mark and back at a course that suits him, BROKEN SPEAR gets the vote. Evocative Spark is second choice.

DARK VIPER ran well first time up this season when chasing home a well-handicapped rival in Merisi Diamond at the Curragh on Monday. He remains on the same mark and if this doesn't come too soon, the Dark Angel gelding has to have a big shout. Arizona Desert makes her first start for Adrian Murray and could go well with Wayne Hassett taking off 7lb. The Sioux Nation filly won a nursery last year in Leicester but hasn't faced ground this testing yet. Apollo Prince ran too freely in blinkers when last seen in a Galway nursery and did well in the circumstances to finish fourth. He's another who has to be considered.

DARK VIPER ran well in a big-field event at the Curragh on Monday and sets the standard on that effort. Apollo Prince seemed lit up by first-time blinkers on his final outing last season but hinted that there was a bigger effort in him, so merits respect, with stable-switcher Arizona Desert also considered.

Having run a cracker when runner-up in an all-aged handicap over 6f at the Curragh six days ago, DARK VIPER could go one better.

16:30 Ascot Handicap Chase (Class 2) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Two For Gold landed the corresponding event 12 months ago and connections will be hopeful that a first-time tongue-tie can see the admirable veteran return to form. However, after scoring in a valuable veterans' series final at Warwick in January, SAM BROWN was far from disgraced in the Denman Chase and it was a similar story in the Coral Trophy at Kempton last time. Down in class and with Freddie Gingell taking off a crucial 5lb, he might be the answer. Larry is also noted.

It could be worth chancing TWO FOR GOLD, who figures off a handy mark and goes particularly well here (won this event 12 months ago). The returning Diego Du Charmil and Certainly Red are both having their first starts in veterans events and are feared most.

Topweight SAM BROWN (nap) has continued in good form since winning the series final at Warwick in January and gets the nod.

16:40 Limerick Handicap Chase 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

FOLLY MASTER relished a step up in trip when landing a gamble over hurdles at Punchestown, with Made in the Woods over 20 lengths behind in fourth, before successfully switching to fences at Thurles earlier this month. The Tom Dreaper-trained gelding appeared to win with a bit in hand over 2m5f and should be suited by this stamina test. Baldur's Gate beat He Fitz In (now 13lb better off) by 13 lengths over this trip at Punchestown in November and has held his form well since while Starlight Cato's second to St Denis's Well at Navan has been well advertised since. Atacanter is another to consider.

FOLLY MASTER created a good impression when going in at the first time of asking over fences at Thurles and looks very much the way to go here. Baldur's Gate appeals as the one to chase home Tom Dreaper's hat-trick seeker ahead of Starlight Cato and Made In The Woods.

Fourth in a recent handicap hurdle, HE FITZ IN can turn the tables on Baldur's Gate who beat him by 13l at Punchestown in November

A determined winner of this contest last year off 7lb lower, LITTLE MUDDY is taken to repeat the dose in similar ground conditions. The eight-year-old wasn't up to much at the end of last season but she should be primed for this, with progressive course winner Rwenearlytheredad a big danger on the drop in trip. Selby's Pride showed up well on her return from three months off at Newcastle and she must enter calculations, along with Harry's Halo and Refuge.

LITTLE MUDDY landed this event in similar conditions last term and is feasibly treated on her return. She may be able to take the prize home once more. Selby's Pride and Rwenearlytheredad head the list of dangers.

Selby's Pride and Little Muddy are high on the list but BALLYARE returns to turf on a lowly mark and could be the answer.

MANHATTAN DANDY had a pipe opener at Dundalk recently and could be a decent price here on ground he handles well. The Dandy Man gelding won twice over seven furlongs last season, including in very testing conditions at Bellewstown. Master Garvey has a good run under his belt already this year and has to be a leading contender. He was third to Merisi Diamond at the Curragh six days ago. Atbay ran a decent race when fourth on his return from an absence at Dundalk and is another for the shortlist.

MASTER GARVEY made an encouraging return when third behind an improving type at the Curragh on Monday, so he is taken to build on his recent run to get off the mark this time around. Atbay also ran well when making the frame at Dundalk on his latest outing and he could be thereabouts once more, with One For Mum completing the shortlist.

If MASTER GARVEY(nap) can reproduce his third at the Curragh on Monday he will be hard to beat

17:05 Ascot Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The form of SUPREME GIFT's recent course second has worked out well, with both the third and fourth winning next time, so a subsequent 3lb rise might not prevent Henry Daly's charge from going one better. The Four Sixes also occupied the runner-up berth on his latest outing at Wetherby and he is unlikely to be far away, while top-weight Get A Tonic drops in class and must be respected for the in-form Dan Skelton team.

THE FOUR SIXES has made a positive start for Olly Murphy and travelled with purpose when runner-up at Wetherby last time, so he gets the marginal vote over Itso Fury, who is also going the right way. Supreme Gift is another one to consider.

The 5yo novice JOSH THE BOSS was disappointing at Exeter last month but showed considerable promise previously and he's the pick.

17:15 Limerick NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SHUTTLE DIPLOMACY justified favouritism on debut at Naas in January and Patrick Mullins again takes the ride. The selection, who was quite green on that occasion, is entitled to progress with that experience under his belt and it's interesting to note that Tom Cooper mentioned this Listed race as a likely target after that victory. Lady Of The Locke makes a quick reappearance after taking a similar event at Thurles last Saturday, while Baron Noir made much of the running when third to Glynn Brae at Leopardstown earlier this month. Balko D'ange came home strongly when runner-up to the odds-on Charming Star on debut in a Navan maiden hurdle while Derek O'Connor is an eye-catching booking on Putapoundinthejar, a Walk In The Park half-brother to a bumper winner.

A few of these bring potential, not least SHUTTLE DIPLOMACY who looked a good prospect when making a winning start in a Naas bumper in January and can make it 2-2 after a break. Balko d'Ange could emerge as the main danger on the back of a promising hurdling debut second at Navan, although the Charles Byrnes-trained duo Lady Of The Locke and Let Him B merit plenty of respect too along with other debutants Kilbuny Supersonic and Putapoundinthejar.

One of two winners in the field, SHUTTLE DIPLOMACY looked raw when scoring at Naas and ought to have derived considerable benefit

Largely held form well since, caught wider than ideal when seventh of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (5f) 23 days ago. Yet to offer much on turf but he arrives fit and in decent heart, so not ruled out with blinkers applied.
Chance partly depends on how well he responds to new headgear.

17:25 Doncaster Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BURJ MALINKA showed up well for a long way on his most recent outing at Newcastle and dropping back in trip looks like a good move, with Adrian Nicholls' sprinter placed in a division of this race last year. Glory Fighter is another who comes here fit after recent spins on the all-weather, while Huddle Up has yet to win for the Barron team but remains on a workable mark. Unexposed handicap debutant Violets Star and Showalong are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

SHOWALONG lurks on a handy mark and, given his proven suitability for testing conditions, gets the nod to make a winning return. Huddle Up largely held his form well in defeat last season and is respected, with Glory Fighter also considered on the back of a decent effort on all-weather last time.

A chance is taken on PAPA DON'T PREACH, who has never won on turf but posted a good effort at Group 2 level on his sole Doncaster run.
