1st (3) (4/9 +47%)Cerro Blanco |
4/9(+47%) | (3) Cerro Blanco 4/9, Yard won this last year; Wootton Bassett colt; half-brother to Secret Force, useful at 11f; dam high-class at 8f; top course jockey/trainer combination and he could easily be good enough on debut. Colt by Wootton Bassett out of Listed scorer; powerful stable; interesting newcomer. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (8/1 -14%)Wield |
8/1(-14%) | (8) Wield 8/1, Improved from debut despite being a touch keen in front when 3l third in a novice at Chelmsford most recent run; trainer in form; stays 7f, acts on AW; capable of winning a race like this if settling. Well held in sole 2yo start but the race has worked out nicely; ran well on reappearance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/1 +38%)Alpine Culture |
10/1(+38%) | (1) Alpine Culture 10/1, Made too much use of when 7 1/4l fourth in a maiden at Southwell first-time out; returning from a break; effective at 7f on AW; can do better ridden more conservatively. Fourth of eight, best of the newcomers, in 7f AW maiden at Southwell; open to progress. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (50/1 -178%)Kimbara |
50/1(-178%) | (5) Kimbara 50/1, Fair effort on debut when 9l fourth in a novice at Newcastle; probably wants 1m; small, quite attractive colt, should improve. Perhaps needed the experience and found 6f on the sharp side in Newcastle event. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (25/1 -79%)Powder Monkey |
25/1(-79%) | (7) Powder Monkey 25/1, Similar level to debut upped in trip when 13l third in a maiden at Southwell most recent run; effective 7/8f, acts on AW; strong sort, type with more to come. Both starts on AW, second to useful sort in 7f event and a fading third over 1m. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (17/2 -6%)Makerstoun |
17/2(-6%) | (6) Makerstoun 17/2, 500,000 euros Night Of Thunder colt; dam smart at 11f; good rider booked on debut and it'll be interesting to see what the market makes of this one on debut. 500,000euros yearling; by Night Of Thunder; could be interesting. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (14/1 -27%)Galba |
14/1(-27%) | (4) Galba 14/1, Some promise on debut when third beaten 6l in a maiden at Newbury; effective at 7f on soft; good chance if building on debut effort. Front-running third in autumn maiden at Newbury; may be capable of improvement. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (12/1 -85%)Big Snoopy |
12/1(-85%) | (2) Big Snoopy 12/1, 300,000gns Siyouni colt; half-brother to fair maiden Bull Run; dam high-class at 8f; no surprise if he were good enough to have a say on debut. 300,000gns yearling; by Siyouni out of French 1,000 Guineas winner; check the betting. |

Charlie Appleby and William Buick teamed up to win this last year so newcomer Cerro Blanco needs to be taken seriously. However, this trip might be on the sharp side and with that in mind, WIELD is preferred. Andrew Balding's colt was able to build on a underwhelming debut effort when third at Chelmsford last month and could put that experience to good use. 500,000-euro purchase Makerstoun warrants a market check.

Another step forward from WIELD looks likely. Cerro Blanco is a particularly interesting newcomer.

1st (3) (9/2 -29%)Mt Fugi Park |
9/2(-29%) | (3) Mt Fugi Park 9/2, Fell when still in front in a handicap chase at Carlisle latest; effective 3m (didn't quite stay 3m6f), acts on sound surface; inconsistent but capable. Seemed to be running well before falling last time; remains on last winning mark. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 -17%)Ladronne |
7/2(-17%) | (2) Ladronne 7/2, Outpaced, bit below form back over hurdles when fifth beaten 7l off 110 last time; effective at around 3m on soft and good; in form, better off back over fences now. Veteran who has looked as good as ever for his new stable this season, winning twice. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (3/1 -60%)Giovanni Change |
3/1(-60%) | (6) Giovanni Change 3/1, Won this last year; returned to form back on better ground landing a handicap by 3l off a 4lb lower mark at Wetherby last time; enjoys making it; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on good to soft and good; should remain competitive on summer ground. Inconsistent nowadays but won last month and is sure to be suited by return to this track. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 +40%)Knockanore |
9/2(+40%) | (4) Knockanore 9/2, Mistakes tried in blinkers but ran to current form when fourth beaten 14l in a handicap hurdle at Hereford latest; effective up to 4m, acts on soft and good to soft; mark easing but needs more back over fences. Latest hurdle run was small step back in right direction; on dangerous chase mark. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (5/1 +58%)Hurricane Bay |
5/1(+58%) | (1) Hurricane Bay 5/1, Made too much use of tried in blinkers up in trip in a handicap chase at Kempton last time; enjoys making it; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on good; bounce back needed. Sure to appreciate this ease in grade but needs to turn a corner. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (7/1 +7%)No But I Will |
7/1(+7%) | (5) No But I Will 7/1, Mistakes, outpaced, below form down in trip when fourth beaten 8l in a handicap chase at Wetherby latest; effective 2m-2m5f on soft and good; suited by front running, can go well. Won on stable debut in December and also ran well when reappearing last month; a possible. |

GIOVANNI CHANGE is a multiple course winner, including over track and trip, and comes in here on good terms with himself following a smooth Wetherby triumph. The veteran is taken to go in again at a course which clearly suits, with Mt Fugi Park arguably the main danger if his jumping stands up. Ladronne is another to bear in mind.

A winner last April, MT FUGI PARK showed enough before falling at Carlisle last month to suggest he's back in good nick again.

1st (1) (11/8 +31%)Adaay Of Scarlett |
11/8(+31%) | (1) Adaay Of Scarlett 11/8, 2 Feb; 110,000 euros Mehmas colt; dam a Group-placed 6f winner; good trainer, who has started well with his juveniles, has enlisted the services of a top rider on debut and he looks a likely type. 110,000euros yearling; speedy pedigree; yard's first 2yo runner was easy to back but won. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (6/4 +45%)Innichen |
6/4(+45%) | (3) Innichen 6/4, Showed promise, better than result when beaten 6l in a novice at Bath on debut; effective at 5f on good; improvement likely and at an advantage as only one of these with experience. Second favourite for Bath debut but hampered twice; much better can be expected today. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/1 +29%)Anna Belardo |
10/1(+29%) | (2) Anna Belardo 10/1, 21 Jan; £5,000 Belardo colt; dam smart at 5f as a 2yo; stable in form and this one is capable of showing up well on debut, especially if market speaks in his favour. Early foal; £5,000 yearling; related to several precocious types; not discounted. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (22/1 -144%)Rocket Boots |
22/1(-144%) | (4) Rocket Boots 22/1, 22 Mar; Too Darn Hot colt; half-brother to Laurasia, moderate at 6f; dam related to some useful middle-distance/hurdle performers for the same connections; will want further before long but has presumably been showing up well. Out of half-sister to useful winners on Flat and over hurdles; hard to fancy on 5f debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/2 -175%)Shadow King |
11/2(-175%) | (5) Shadow King 11/2, 15 Mar; Dark Angel colt; half-brother to Involvement, smart at 10f; dam high-class at 10f; likely go well on debut for top yard that has started well with its juveniles. Out of 1m2f Listed winner; pedigree suggests 5f will be on the sharp side. |

Shadow King is a half-brother to Involvement, who was victorious on his debut. Although the son of Dark Angel is likely to progress over trips longer than this, he must still be respected. Innichen could improve on his debut sixth at Bath, but ADAAY OF SCARLETT might be the one. Hugo Palmer's youngster is bred for speed and given that his dam placed at Group level, it would be no surprise were he to make an instant impression.

Innichen had a rough passage on debut and can do better here but ADAAY OF SCARLETT is taken to live up to his precocious pedigree.

1st (4) (8/13 -15%)Diamonds Galore |
8/13(-15%) | (4) Diamonds Galore 8/13, Well held up in class when pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Kelso latest; effective 2m, acts on soft and good; more to come and this looks a good opportunity. Not herself in valuable race last month; sets clear standard on earlier form. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/4 +65%)Chatty Girl |
7/4(+65%) | (2) Chatty Girl 7/4, Yard won this last year; ran to form when fourth beaten 17l in a novice hurdle at Wincanton latest; effective 2m, acts on soft and good to soft; can go well in a weak enough race. Bumper winner who made the frame on three of first four hurdling starts; in the mix again. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (66/1 -32%)Curious Mrs Fox |
66/1(-32%) | (3) Curious Mrs Fox 66/1, Never in it from off the pace when fourth beaten 14l in a maiden hurdle at Newcastle latest; drop in trip might suit. 0-25 on the Flat; recent hurdling debut was respectable but she has a lot to find here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/1 -11%)Georgia's Charm |
10/1(-11%) | (6) Georgia's Charm 10/1, Improved on poor debut effort albeit still comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Ludlow last time; effective at 2m on sound surface; major improvement needed. Second hurdle run was much better than the first; another step forward is needed, though. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (22/1 -83%)Briery Rose |
22/1(-83%) | (1) Briery Rose 22/1, Step back from promising debut when well beaten in a maiden bumper at Hereford latest; effective at 2m, acts on good to soft; could improve now hurdling. Made quite promising bumper debut in 2024 but returned from layoff with a lesser effort. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (22/1 -120%)Flying Pimpernel |
22/1(-120%) | (5) Flying Pimpernel 22/1, Step back from debut upped in trip when fourth beaten 56l in a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon latest; effective 2m-2m2f, acts on good to soft and good; type to do better once handicapping. Placed in two of her three bumpers last year but first two hurdle runs were disappointing. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (200/1 -100%)Pour Tout Le Monde |
200/1(-100%) | (7) Pour Tout Le Monde 200/1, Too keen and didn't get home when down the field in a maiden bumper at Carlisle most recent; improvement needed but possible now hurdling, albeit has a big absence to overcome. Showed only minor promise in bumpers in 2024; makes hurdle debut after long absence. |

DIAMONDS GALORE was pulled up at Kelso latest but drops markedly in class for this maiden hurdle against her own sex and previous form suggests she should take plenty of beating. Newbury bumper winner Chatty Girl is the main danger and has shown ability over hurdles in four starts, while Georgia's Charm rates best of the rest for Fergal O'Brien.

Nothing went right for DIAMONDS GALORE at Kelso last month but her earlier form suggests she'll be hard to beat here.

1st (5) (8/11 -9%)Talk Of New York |
8/11(-9%) | (5) Talk Of New York 8/11, Did plenty wrong but still improved a length third in Jumeirah 2000 Guineas (Listed) at Meydan most recent run; effective at 8f on a sound surface; needs to settle if he's to fulfil potential but new hood should help on that front and he's dropping in trip. May settle better dropped in trip with hood applied, and he remains a promising colt. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (10/1 +17%)Lost Signal |
10/1(+17%) | (1) Lost Signal 10/1, Continues winning ways up in trip, looked a nice prospect when winning a novice at Ffos Las by 1/2l last time; effective 6/7f on fast ground; can improve again if settling better. Progressive last summer and the form has substance; won at Ffos Las the final time. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (4/1 +0%)Maximized |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Maximized 4/1, Ran to form when second beaten 2l in a 3yo race at Meydan latest; top course trainer; off a short-break; suited by 6f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; looks the stable number two but has a chance upped to 7f. A reasonably solid contender over this new trip, albeit William Buick deserts him. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (18/1 -13%)Shaatir |
18/1(-13%) | (4) Shaatir 18/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 2l in Prix Montenica (Listed) at Chantilly latest; effective 6/7f on a sound surface; needs more tried in cheekpieces now. Chance of landing this race partly depends on how well he responds to headgear. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/2 +18%)Richie's Rocket |
9/2(+18%) | (3) Richie's Rocket 9/2, Lost ground start, plenty to do and finished well when fourth beaten 1 1/4l in Spring Cup Stakes (Listed) at Lingfield latest; effective at 7f, acts on good and AW; likely improver back on turf. Beaten favourite in Listed grade on reappearance but ran well; remains of interest. |

TALK OF NEW YORK created quite the impression when bolting up on his debut at Kempton and had excuses when a beaten favourite in a Listed contest at Meydan next time. The son of Wootton Bassett could be a different proposition in the first-time hood, though, and he is expected to bounce straight back to form. Lost Signal completed a double at Ffos Las back in August and is noted, while Richie's Rocket also merits consideration.

There's no reason to give up on TALK OF NEW YORK. Second choice is Richie's Rocket.

1st (8) (6/4 -36%)Onefournine |
6/4(-36%) | (8) Onefournine 6/4, Found little, below form when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Kempton most recent; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m2f, acts on heavy and soft; better than showed latest but may need more cut. Disappointing latest but she's up in trip and sets the standard on earlier form.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (2/1 +60%)Kaydence |
2/1(+60%) | (6) Kaydence 2/1, Below bumper level when well beaten in a novice hurdle at Wincanton latest; usually held up; effective at 2m on good to soft; type to do better when handicapping. Fair bumper performer and her pedigree suggests she'll be suited by this longer trip.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (16/1 +76%)Dunaden Island |
16/1(+76%) | (3) Dunaden Island 16/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle at Wincanton latest; since undergone a wind op; effective at 1m7f on heavy; needs much more and might do better when handicapping. Pulled up latest but, if reproducing earlier promise, not without hope after wind surgery.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (9/4 -38%)Laffer Curve |
9/4(-38%) | (7) Laffer Curve 9/4, Ran to form on handicap debut when 4 1/2l third in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon most recent run; trainer in form; effective 2m4f, acts on soft and good; good chance back in a maiden. Need to find a bit with Onefournine on the figures but should be thereabouts.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (40/1 -122%)Jolissaint |
40/1(-122%) | (5) Jolissaint 40/1, Not without promise even though pulled up comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow last time; effective at 3m in points; improvement likely but needed. Point winner; entitled to have come on from recent hurdle debut after a lengthy absence.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (50/1 -100%)Bits Ballou |
50/1(-100%) | (1) Bits Ballou 50/1, Moderate hurdles debut well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Ludlow latest; needs more on second run for new yard. Hinted at ability on last month's hurdle debut but needs to improve for the longer trip.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (40/1 -60%)Davita Blaze |
40/1(-60%) | (2) Davita Blaze 40/1, Similar level to bumper debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Hereford last time; effective 2m-2m4f on soft and good; improvement needed upped in trip. Never threatened on hurdle debut and may be one for the longer term.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (10) (80/1 -60%)Stavanger Rose |
80/1(-60%) | (10) Stavanger Rose 80/1, No worthwhile form; jumping an issue so far, handicaps might suit better. Yet to complete in four career starts and it's safer to look elsewhere.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (150/1 -50%)Fountains Gala |
150/1(-50%) | (4) Fountains Gala 150/1, Poor debut over hurdles but saddle slipped when down the field in a novice hurdle at Wincanton most recent; major improvement needed. Good jumping pedigree but it's hard to make a case for her on what she's shown so far.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (33/1 -32%)Queens Up |
33/1(-32%) | (9) Queens Up 33/1, Improved on debut when 6 1/2l third in a maiden point at Dromahane most recent run; effective at 3m in points; brings some potential to rules. Runner-up in an Irish point in December and that form has some substance.. |

Point winner ONEFOURNINE shaped with clear promise on her first two hurdling starts before taking a big step backwards when a beaten favourite at Kempton. The daughter of Kalanisi has been given a short break since then and, if able to bounce back, she's likely to take all of the beating. Laffer Curve is next best ahead of Olly Murphy's Kaydence.

This extra yardage may spark a revival in ONEFOURNINE who disappointed last time but was progressing well prior to that.

11/10(+32%) | (3) Plains Drifter 11/10, Ran to form when second beaten a length in a maiden hurdle here latest; effective 2m-2m4f on good to soft; in form and has a good chance in this. Second to smart rival over C&D on hurdle debut and placed again twice since; respected. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/1 -25%)Manalishi |
10/1(-25%) | (2) Manalishi 10/1, Mistakes, too much to do, never put into the race when 19l third in a novice hurdle at Doncaster most recent run; returning from a break; effective 2m1f, acts on soft and good; should improve a little for initial experience now upped in trip. Second in a bumper; made jumping errors when well-held third on hurdle debut; can improve. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/10 -21%)Jimmy Hurdstrom |
11/10(-21%) | (1) Jimmy Hurdstrom 11/10, Yard won this last year; ran to form when 3l third in a handicap hurdle at Warwick most recent run; effective 2m-3m on a sound surface; good chance back in a maiden hurdle. Placed in 0-120 Warwick handicap last month; major player back in novice company. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (16/1 -60%)Dontelimurnamepike |
16/1(-60%) | (5) Dontelimurnamepike 16/1, Best work late from off the pace albeit comfortably held in a 4yo hurdle at Wetherby last time; off a short-break; effective around 2m with cut; type to do better now upped in trip. Showed minor promse against own age-group on last two starts; improvement needed here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (66/1 +34%)Sims' Law |
66/1(+34%) | (4) Sims' Law 66/1, Ran green, never in the race when down the field in a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter most recent; all to prove for now and up against it. With a good stable but struggled on his first two appearances. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (200/1 +0%)Ebony Ebbs |
200/1(+0%) | (6) Ebony Ebbs 200/1, Didn't find despite first-time tongue-tie when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon last time; all to prove. Well beaten in both bumpers and when 200-1 for last month's hurdling debut. |

Point-to-point winner JIMMY HURDSTROM has shown enough ability over hurdles, not least when finishing a solid third in a Warwick handicap last time, to suggest he ought to go very close in a maiden like this. Plains Drifter was a beaten favourite over C&D last month but still performed well enough and cannot be dismissed. Manalishi is another to consider closely.

Plains Drifter has twice finished second over C&D this season but he'd meet JIMMY HURDSTROM on 5lb better terms in a handicap.

Has consistent form since being gelded; won his sole attempt in a turf handicap; solid. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (17/2 +6%)Hardy's Hero |
17/2(+6%) | (2) Hardy's Hero 17/2, Yard won this last year; ran okay on handicap debut beaten 8l in a nursery at Newbury last time; in good form prior; effective 6/7f, acts on a sound surface; might have more to offer this season. Gelded since failing to complete a hat-trick; represents major yard and not written off. |

6/1(+0%) | (4) Stellar Vision 6/1, Came clear in good fashion to win with a bit in hand in a maiden at Wolverhampton by 4l last time; returning from a break; effective 6/7f, acts on good and AW; unexposed and more to come now handicapping. Eye-catching third at Newmarket then won well on AW; type to improve further; interesting. |

8/1(+11%) | (8) High Approval 8/1, Built slightly on previous efforts when 3/4l third in a maiden at Wolverhampton most recent run; effective at 6f, acts on sound surface; needs more here. Chance of belated progress depends on the effect of new trip and switch to a handicap. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (16/1 -33%)Starryfield |
16/1(-33%) | (10) Starryfield 16/1, Ran at least to form down in trip when 1 1/2l third in a novice at Newcastle most recent run; off a short-break; effective 5/6f, acts on good and AW; big, quite nice type and could improve now handicapping. Consistent sprinting form; could go well, provided he stays this new trip. |

8th (9) (18/1 +10%)Harswell Angel |
18/1(+10%) | (9) Harswell Angel 18/1, Ran to form on return beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Southwell last time; effective 6/7f, acts on heavy, good and AW; stepping back up in trip might suit. Worth another crack at 7f but balance of form suggests he'll come up short. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (66/1 -32%)Daretobedifferent |
66/1(-32%) | (13) Daretobedifferent 66/1, Always behind when beaten 8l in a nursery at Lingfield last time; hood first time; suited by 6f and a sound surface; mark easing but needs more here. Quite an exposed maiden sprinter last term; new trip needs to help. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (9/1 +18%)Senor Campanaro |
9/1(+18%) | (12) Senor Campanaro 9/1, Drop in trip and slow pace suited, improved when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 4lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; returning from a break; suited by 7f, acts on sound surface; has tactical speed, mark tougher now but is open to progress. Showed the benefits of a gelding operation when last seen; may build on that win. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (33/1 +0%)Try Storm Cat |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Try Storm Cat 33/1, Went too quickly early tried in cheekpieces when comfortably held in a handicap at Lingfield last time; off a short-break; effective 6f-1m, acts on good, fast ground and AW; bit to prove after latest run. Failed to beat a rival on final start for Charlie Johnston; sold for 11,000gns since. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) (25/1 -150%)Kody B |
25/1(-150%) | (1) Kody B 25/1, Put experience to good use, step back up in trip worked well when winning a maiden at Pontefract by 5l last time; tongue-tie first time; effective 6f on soft and good ground; capable of better this season. By no means certain to find the necessary further progress to follow up Pontefract win. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (5) (15/2 -67%)Cashbox |
15/2(-67%) | (5) Cashbox 15/2, Step up in trip very much suited when landing a handicap by a length off a 4lb lower mark here last time; effective 6/7f on sound surface; progressed well at end of last season and mark still looks fair for this return. 2-2 since handicapping and gained the latest success over C&D; gelded since; respected. |

Stellar Vision justified cramped odds to get off the mark at Wolverhampton in January and has to be considered on his first start in a handicap. Similar comments apply to Sierra Sands, who has the assistance of Ryan Moore, but CASHBOX is preferred. Charles Hills' gelding won both of his nursery outings last season, with the latest of those coming over track and trip in October. Although 4lb higher ahead of his return, he remains the one to beat.

Interesting handicap debutant STELLAR VISION is taken to follow up his AW maiden win. Cashbox is second pick.

12/1(+14%) | (4) Keepkalmandkarryon 12/1, Needed run down the field in a handicap hurdle at Southwell most recent; effective around 2m4f; improvement needed. Back from 14 months off/wind surgery with well-held tenth at Southwell three weeks ago. |

|PU| (6) (16/1 -129%)Gilded Glance |
16/1(-129%) | (6) Gilded Glance 16/1, Below form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Taunton latest; looks one for further down the line, probably in handicaps. Little show in trio of maiden hurdles this year; needs switch to h'caps to spark progress. |

It could be worth siding with NO PANIC after Jeremy Scott's gelding made a pleasing handicap debut at Wincanton last month. This is a little easier than the 0-100 he contested that day and he wouldn't need to find much more to land a race of this nature. Bredon Hill Dart can be forgiven a lacklustre Chepstow effort, but Gilded Glance might be a bigger threat.

This looks a good opportunity for NO PANIC to build on an improved Wincanton fourth after a breathing operation and get off the mark.

Good second at Fakenham latest; very much one to consider in his bid for a maiden win. |

66/1(-32%) | (10) Ambassador 66/1, Outpaced, needed run, well held by less exposed rivals when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Sedgefield last time; effective 2m, needs sound surface; inconsistent. Won at Cartmel in August but his form has nosedived since. |

|PU| (5) (33/1 -136%)Nitty Gritty |
33/1(-136%) | (5) Nitty Gritty 33/1, Travelled, hinted at revival but not find as much as looked likely beaten 6l in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby last time; returning from a break; effective 2m4f on soft; winner in Ireland, needs to build on latest revival. Best effort for current yard when fifth at Wetherby on Boxing Day; not out of things. |

Ruler Legend readily won over an extended 2m here nine days ago and is expected to go well again, but LORD CHAMBERLAIN might have his measure this time. He's less exposed and could hardly have been more impressive when bolting up at Hereford recently. That was his handicap debut over hurdles and with improvement forthcoming, he can cope with a 7lb penalty. Play Pretend is noted too.

Fair Flat performer LORD CHAMBERLAIN took a big step forward when scoring easily at Hereford last week and can defy a 7lb penalty here

10/1(-100%) | (4) Sturlasson 10/1, Ran to form beaten 2l off a 1lb lower mark at Southwell last time; returning from a break; effective 5/6f, acts on any ground and AW; in fine form since move from Ireland and can go well if ready for this return. 10/1(+9%) | (7) Tan Rapido 10/1, Struggled when beaten 4l off a 1lb higher mark at Leicester last time; effective 5/6f, acts on soft, good and AW; in good form but needs more to defy current mark. Improved 5f form last July; not sustain that level after; may yet do better at this trip. |

8th (3) (13/2 +0%)We Never Stop |
13/2(+0%) | (3) We Never Stop 13/2, Yard has won 2 of last 9 runnings of race; ran to form beaten 2l off this mark at Newcastle last time; effective 6f, appears much better AW; chance if building on latest. Better on AW; long time since he's shown much on turf but yard won 2 of last 9 runnings. |

The consistent Sturlasson must be taken seriously on his return to the fray and it would come as no surprise if We Never Stop was involved in the finish. DYONISOS just edges it, though, as he can show the benefit of having had a couple of efforts in the Dubai sunshine this winter and his latest third at Meydan was a really encouraging display.

Several to consider but STURLASSON, who has done well for his new yard, should still have some life in his handicap mark.

5/2(-82%) | (3) Irish Chorus 5/2, Ran to best, scored with bit in hand in a handicap off a 6lb lower mark at Warwick last time; trainer in form; effective 2m, acts on good to soft and good; progressing over fences although jumping can be an issue. Steps back into open company off 6lb higher but she remains open to progress over fences.. |

11/4(+0%) | (4) Raffles Hermes 11/4, Outpaced, too much to do after series of errors, looked in need of further when 7 1/4l third in a handicap chase at Fontwell most recent run; effective 2m-2m4f; well treated on French form, running into form for new yard. Dual chase winner in France who is showing more of late and the better ground could suit.. |

|F| (2) (10/11 +67%)Siam Park |
10/11(+67%) | (2) Siam Park 10/11, Ran to form up in trip, suited by positive ride at sharp track when beaten 3/4l off a 10lb lower mark at Taunton last time; effective 2m-2m4f on a sound surface; consistent and go well again. Leading contender back over fences after two solid placed efforts over hurdles last month.. |

A confident vote goes to IRISH CHORUS, who made it two wins from four starts over fences with a cosy success at Warwick last month. A 6lb rise is far from insurmountable given her scope to progress further and she's preferred to Siam Park, a runner-up over hurdles at Taunton three weeks ago. Raffles Hermes edges out Uncle Phil to be best of the rest.

Siam Park and Irish Chorus are respected but preference is for RAFFLES HERMES, who's been showing more of late.

Ran quite well at Bangor last month and has been given a wind op since; shortlisted. |

7/1(0%) | (4) O'grady's Hill 7/1, Didn't find much having briefly threatened when 20l third in a handicap chase at Taunton most recent run; effective 2m-2m4f with cut; mark keeps easing but needs more. Not disgraced at Taunton last month but generally disappointing for new stable this season. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (6/5 +20%)Grain Trade |
6/5(+20%) | (3) Grain Trade 6/5, Ran to form, albeit unsuited by way race developed when fourth beaten 7l in a handicap chase here latest; usually held up; effective 2m-2m4f, suited by sound surface; can go well. Course winner in October; current mark is workable if this race is run to suit. |

This isn't the deepest of contests and it is JIAIR MADRIK that shades preference. Donald McCain's gelding is still getting the hang of things over fences and wasn't disgraced at Bangor last month. Should recent wind surgery work the oracle, he might prove capable of better. Grain Trade won here back in October and should be thereabouts along with Catchim.

The suggestion is JIAIR MADRIK in the hope he benefits from the combination of a recent wind op and the refitted hood.

Record of 2112 in handicaps but he is now 17lb higher than last turf attempt. |

20/1(-67%) | (9) Akho Mezzna 20/1, Put experience to good use when getting off the mark in a novice at Salisbury by 1/2l last time; significant jockey booking; effective 7f, likely to be a miler, acts on fast ground and AW; likeable sort with more to offer. Gelded since Salisbury win; may take anther step forward on handicap debut. |

50/1(-178%) | (6) Blue To Blue 50/1, Ran to form beaten a length off a 1lb lower mark here last time; suited by 7f and a sound surface; mark fair still for this reappearance. Record of 3-8 last year for Karl Burke and ran well at Newmarket on final start. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

10/1(-11%) | (2) Major Neigh Sayer 10/1, Ran to form upped in grade albeit well beaten in Prix Herod (Listed) at Saint-Cloud latest; in good form prior; effective 5-7f on sound surface; more chance back in a handicap here. Won well at Newmarket in last domestic attempt; possibly remains open to further progress. |

11th (3) (17/2 -113%)Tiger Power |
17/2(-113%) | (3) Tiger Power 17/2, Travelled best, won with a bit in hand up in trip off a break when landing a novice at Southwell by 2 1/4l last time; trainer in form; effective 7/8f, acts on good and AW; big, rangy colt, more to come. Record of 2-3 includes a success in sole turf attempt; may improve further. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) (7/1 -17%)Pandemonium |
7/1(-17%) | (1) Pandemonium 7/1, Outclassed when well beaten in Horris Hill Stakes (Group 3) at Newbury latest; in good form prior; significant jockey booking; effective at 7f, acts on soft and good to soft; bright prospect still and more to come now handicapping. Well held in the Horris Hill but gained his wins in good style and may do better still. |

This is a fascinating contest consisting of plenty of three-year-olds who could make up into really nice types this season. Darn Hot Gallop is unbeaten in two starts and impressed under a penalty when scoring in novice company at Newcastle. She is respected, as is Pandemonium, who was tried in a Group 3 last year, and We're Goosers, who looks sure to improve now stepping up to a mile. TIGER POWER gets a tentative vote though because the Haydock debut scorer has had a run this year and it was a good one at Southwell.

The suggestion is solid-looking WE'RE GOOSERS, ahead of Darn Hot Gallop and Major Neigh Sayer.

4/1(+60%) | (2) Striking A Pose 4/1, Did plenty early when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on any; back below last winning mark but must bounce back. Offered a little more on latest start and well treated on past form, but needs to step up.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (1/1 +27%)Dearkeithandkaty |
1/1(+27%) | (1) Dearkeithandkaty 1/1, Travelled, ran to form at Musselburgh last time; cheekpieces first time; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on soft and good; in form, recent efforts boosted, more to come as a stayer. Nudged up 1lb but the step up in trip with cheekpieces added could eke out improvement.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (15/2 -200%)Welcheston Warrier |
15/2(-200%) | (4) Welcheston Warrier 15/2, Improved a little tried in cheekpieces when beaten a head off a 2lb lower mark at Hereford last time; effective 2m4f-3m1f, acts on heavy and good to soft; capable off this mark after just a small rise. Largely consistent and not yet fully exposed at staying distances; leading contender.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (13/2 +19%)My Own Lovely Lee |
13/2(+19%) | (3) My Own Lovely Lee 13/2, Up in trip, may not have stayed when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Exeter last time; effective 2m4f, acts with cut; type to do better yet in handicaps. Made little impact switched to a handicap latest and more is needed if he's to figure.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (13/2 -63%)Lightonthewing |
13/2(-63%) | (5) Lightonthewing 13/2, Didn't stay upped to a marathon trip at Chepstow last time; trainer in form; effective up to 3m2f, acts on heavy and good to soft; drop in trip and returning to hurdles can see him go well. Effective in this sphere but yet to win off a mark this high.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (16/1 +20%)I Love You Sivola |
16/1(+20%) | (6) I Love You Sivola 16/1, Again below form when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Exeter most recent; effective 2m4f-3m; poor performer, hard to fancy. Hard to recommend on recent hurdle form.. |

Welcheston Warrier finished eight lengths clear of the third when hitting the woodwork at Hereford last month and may fill second place again, this time behind DEARKEITHANDKATY. The five-year-old took the silver medal in a class 2 event at Musselburgh on his most recent start and can capitalise on this drop in grade. Lightonthewing struck at Exeter over fences two starts ago and is another to consider.

Upped again in trip and with cheekpieces added, DEARKEITHANDKATY is taken to double his score. Welcheston Warrier is feared most.

1st (3) (4/7 +29%)Prizeland |
4/7(+29%) | (3) Prizeland 4/7, Built on debut when winning a novice at Kempton by 1 1/4l last time; trainer in form; bred for 10f+, sister to Derby runner-up Hoo Ya Mal; more to though seasonal debut. Won a fillies' novice at Kempton last autumn; has potential now tackling middle distances. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/1 -122%)Keep It Cool |
5/1(-122%) | (2) Keep It Cool 5/1, Backed up debut probably improving up in trip 6l third in a novice at Kempton second start; suited by 12f, may get further, acts on AW; more to come, perhaps in staying contests. Appreciated the step up to 1m4f when having Star Artist behind last time; handicaps next. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (8/1 -33%)La Tosca |
8/1(-33%) | (4) La Tosca 8/1, Green and not clearest run when 7 1/4l fourth in a novice at Southwell first-time out; bred to stay; open to a good bit of improvement. Easy to back ahead of her 1m4f Tapeta debut last month; entitled to improve, but needs to. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/2 +63%)Star Artist |
9/2(+63%) | (1) Star Artist 9/2, Improved a little from debut beaten 9 1/4l in a novice at Kempton last time; both starts 12f on the Flat and may want further; open to progress, perhaps over longer trips. This more realistic but his immediate future probably lies in the hands of the handicapper. |

Keep It Cool was six lengths in arrears of the mighty Constitution Hill at Kempton last month and although that form looks to have some substance, PRIZELAND should take all the beating. Andrew Balding's filly made it second-time lucky when scoring over the mile at Kempton in October. The daughter of Territories is notably a full-sister to smart stayer Hoo Ya Mal amongst others, and is likely to take another step forward upped in trip. La Tosca completes the shortlist.

Currently around a 66-1 shot for the Oaks, PRIZELAND has been found the ideal opening under a penalty.

1st (4) (13/2 -8%)Singapore Trip |
13/2(-8%) | (4) Singapore Trip 13/2, Improved, appreciating stiff test down in trip at favoured venue when landing a handicap by 4l off a 6lb lower mark at Wetherby last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft but suited by good ground; can go well off new mark. Has returned to chasing in recent weeks and was a clearcut winner at Wetherby last time. |

2nd (2) (4/5 +60%)Southoftheborder |
4/5(+60%) | (2) Southoftheborder 4/5, Ran to form, benefitting from stiff test down in trip and drop in grade when landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark at Kempton last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on any; consistent sort can go well again. Beat a next-time-out winner when scoring at Kempton last month; only 3lb higher here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/2 +8%)Icare Colombe |
11/2(+8%) | (5) Icare Colombe 11/2, Did it cosily, improved although race fell apart in behind when landing a handicap by 5l off a 6lb lower mark here last time; effective 2m-2m4f; looks to be improving over fences. Up in grade after last month's course win but further progress is possible. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (3/1 -33%)Cuban Court |
3/1(-33%) | (1) Cuban Court 3/1, Did it easily, improved again at favoured venue landing a handicap by 29l off a 8lb lower mark at Doncaster last time; effective 2m-2m4f, suited by decent ground; progressing over fences but more needed off new mark. 3-4 over fences, the last two wins gained by wide margins in small fields at Doncaster. |

An open contest, not least because four of the five participants arrive on the back of a win, because even Kayce Dutton finished a creditable second last time. The vote goes to SOUTHOFTHEBORDER though, who might have been underestimated by a 3lb rise given that he defeated a subsequent winner at Kempton last month. Icare Colombe, Cuban Court and Singapore Trip each have reasonable claims too.

Preference is for SOUTHOFTHEBORDER (nap), whose recent Kempton success was franked by the runner-up over the weekend.

250/1(-213%) | (18) Imtinkenofit 250/1, 2,000 euros Kew Gardens filly; looks very unlikely winner in useful race on debut. Second reserve, second foal out of an unraced mare, nothing of much note in the pedigree. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (300/1 -140%)Hungry Henry |
300/1(-140%) | (5) Hungry Henry 300/1, Yet to show any signs of ability in two starts. Showed nothing in two maiden hurdle outings last season. |

ARCADIAN EMPEROR and Speculateur were separated by just half a length when filling the places behind Kiely's Place over a slightly shorter trip here in February and they look the two to concentrate on. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding previously filled the runner-up spot behind Shuttle Diplomacy at Naas and may again just have the edge over Speculateur, who continued a run of placed efforts at Cork last month. Hi Ho Idaho is also taken seriously.

Despite the risky profile associated with his record of beaten favouritism, ARCADIAN EMPEROR can take advantage of this opportunity

Fair ninth in Lincoln; fitness guaranteed and his mark is fine too; worth a second look. |

20/1(-43%) | (2) Tycoon 20/1, Bit below form beaten 8l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time; returning from a break; effective 10-12f, acts on sound surface; drop in trip an interesting move for this return. Yet to get going in h'caps but he's not fully exposed; drops in trip for this reappearance. |

16/1(-113%) | (7) Bopedro 16/1, Well below form at end of long season when down the field in a handicap here most recent; effective 8-10f, acts on any; regular in these big handicaps but doesn't win often. Won this in 2023 but no wins since July course success that August; might need this run. |

7th (9) (16/1 -33%)Sterling Knight |

10/3(+17%) | (8) Great Chieftain 10/3, Ran to form beaten 3l off this mark at Meydan last time; top course jockey; suited by 8/9f, acts on sound surface; former C&D scorer is back on last win mark. C&D winner who is back down to his last winning mark and ran well in January; key player. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (8/1 -33%)Mythical Guest |
8/1(-33%) | (10) Mythical Guest 8/1, Ran to current level when 6l third in a handicap here most recent run; suited by 8-10f, acts on any; back to form when last seen. 0-18 since last win (1m2f) but has won after a longer break and was 3rd in this last year. |

Real Gain has won at this track before and is beginning to look well treated again, while Esherann singed off his 2025 campaign with a win at the Curragh and is another to consider closely ahead of his stable debut/seasonal return. GREAT CHIEFTAIN has had a couple of runs at Meydan this year though and the C&D winner might be able to show the benefit of that.

Quite a few to consider but this can go to GREAT CHIEFTAIN (nap), who ran well when last seen and is back on his last winning mark.

5/2(+25%) | (2) Tapley 5/2, Ran to form, stamina just held out over longer trip at sharp track when landing a handicap by 3/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Stratford last time; effective 2m, barely gets 2m4f, wants sound surface; consistent. Consistent 9yo who looks sure to give his running again despite the 3lb rise; respected.. |

4th (1) (2/1 -23%)Soldierofthestorm |
2/1(-23%) | (1) Soldierofthestorm 2/1, Did it readily, jumping boldly and suited by positive ride when landing a handicap by 3 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Sandown last time; effective 2m4f, acts on soft and good; more to come over fences. Up 5lb but he's made an immediate impact over fences and can improve further.. |

SOLDIEROFTHESTORM successfully made it two wins from his last three starts at Sandown and a 5lb rise might underestimate the level of authority he showed that day. If in similar form, the son of Solider Of Fortune will prove very hard to beat. Tapley returned to winning ways at this level at Stratford and is the main danger, ahead of Sheldon after his second at Newbury.

With more to offer over fences after just two starts, SOLDIEROFTHESTORM (nap) gets the vote ahead of Tapley and Sheldon.

25/1(-127%) | (8) Militzie 25/1, Poor effort beaten 10l in a maiden at Chelmsford last time; seems effective 6f, may not stay 7f, acts on AW; touch disappointing since minor promise on debut. Gone backwards from promising debut; starts handicap life at a lowly level; market useful. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (9/1 +59%)Clipper |
9/1(+59%) | (9) Clipper 9/1, Too keen beaten 9l in a maiden at Nottingham last time; sire sprinter, dam stayed 12f; tall gelding, needs to settle. Inclined to pull hard in sprints last year; needs to settle from a wide stall on comeback. |

Mighty Vega had Roccobear (second) and Okiru (fifth) in behind him over C&D two starts ago before appearing unsuited by a drop in trip last time. He was 6lb out of the handicap that day too and should fare better this time around, but a chance can be taken on VICTORY ACE. The Zoustar gelding showed a bit of promise in two starts for Roger Varian and can be forgiven a low-key stable bow for the John Butler team now pitched into handicaps for the first time.

Victory Ace is interesting but this can go to LEGACY ROCK, who had excuses when favourite on his handicap debut a month ago.

11/2(-38%) | (6) Molto Bene 11/2, Ran to form beaten a neck off a 2lb lower mark at Leicester last time; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on soft and good; good chance in this after a small rise. 2-4 over fences; close second to a next-time-out winner last time; has a fighting chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/2 +55%)She Is For Me Boys |
9/2(+55%) | (8) She Is For Me Boys 9/2, Ran to form down in trip when 5l third in a handicap chase at Warwick most recent run; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on sound surface; step back up in trip a plus. Yet to build upon promising chase debut in the autumn but still enters calculations. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/1 +14%)Lunar Discovery |
6/1(+14%) | (5) Lunar Discovery 6/1, Ran to form, just outstayed late up in trip when 11l third in a handicap chase at Stratford most recent run; effective 2m-2m6f, acts on any; consistent. Back in prime form at Chepstow in December but not quite as good last month, after a break. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 +25%)Epinephrine |
12/1(+25%) | (7) Epinephrine 12/1, Outpaced, rallied, ran to form up in trip beaten 1 1/2l off a 1lb lower mark at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective around 2m, acts on soft and good to soft; step up in trip might suit over fences. Last month's Bangor second came in an run-of-the-mill handicap but she may yet do better. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (4/1 -14%)Jasmine Bliss |
4/1(-14%) | (1) Jasmine Bliss 4/1, Every chance, ran to form up in grade on quick return when second beaten 6 1/2l in Pendil Novices' Chase (Grade 2) at Kempton latest; enjoys making it; effective 2m4f, acts on any; progressive, more to come over fences. Listed winner in February and second in Grade 2 Pendil later that month. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (9/1 +10%)All The Glory |
9/1(+10%) | (4) All The Glory 9/1, Mistakes, outpaced when well beaten in Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase (Grade 2) at Cheltenham latest; in good form prior; usually held up; effective 2m-2m4f; fair mark back in a handicap. Has mixed record this season but her Windsor third in January brings her right into this. |

BLUEY was turned over at cramped odds in a Listed contest at Wincanton in February but Emma Lavelle's otherwise progressive chaser is fancied to bounce back in these calmer waters. That too could be said about Pendil runner-up Jasmine Bliss, whilst She Is For Me Boys should benefit from a return to further. The likeable and consistent Molto Bene shouldn't be underestimated either.

Well handicapped if judged on her close third to Bluey at Windsor in January, ALL THE GLORY gets the vote.

8/1(-14%) | (3) Ned In The Park 8/1, Ran to form but looked in need of stiffer test when fourth beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap hurdle at Gowran Park latest; effective 2m but may improve for further, acts on soft and good; in good form, longer trip will help. Shaped quite well when fourth at Gowran six months ago, could go close if fitness holds up. |

2nd (5) (13/2 +24%)Thisain'tthat |
13/2(+24%) | (5) Thisain'tthat 13/2, Best effort so far beaten 6l in a maiden hurdle at Limerick last time; effective 2m, acts on heavy; has shown promise, probably a bit to come. Not beaten far in sixth on the most recent of three hurdle starts, open to improvement. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/1 +33%)Paradise Lost |
5/1(+33%) | (4) Paradise Lost 5/1, Ran to form down in trip but looked in need of slightly stiffer test 6l third in a handicap hurdle at Gowran Park most recent run; effective at 2m with cut; running back into form. 4th (10) (17/2 +47%)Private Policy |
17/2(+47%) | (10) Private Policy 17/2, Probably wanted further than 2m down the field in a maiden hurdle at Naas most recent run; effective 2m2f to 2m7f, form on heavy; longer trip will help. Ran well on the first of three starts after a long layoff, hard to assess, handicap debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/2 +65%)Mic Drop |
7/2(+65%) | (6) Mic Drop 7/2, Never involved over inadequate trip comfortably held in a 2m 2f handicap chase at Thurles last time; effective 2 1/2-3m; step-up in trip could be helpful but out of form. Point winner/course bumper winner in 2024, reverts from chasing, others are more appealing. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (13/2 +70%)Former Flame |
13/2(+70%) | (7) Former Flame 13/2, Suited by step-up in trip, ran to form when second beaten 1 1/2l in a maiden hurdle at Killarney latest; returning from long layoff; stays 2m6f, acts on yielding and good; nice opening mark but could need run. Absent since second in a maiden at Killarney last May, fair mark for her first handicap. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (20/1 +29%)The Guinness Boys |
20/1(+29%) | (8) The Guinness Boys 20/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Wexford latest; had lost form over hurdles before that; plenty to prove. Pulled up in a chase last time; handicap hurdle form is unconvincing. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (11) (8/1 +6%)Spellacy's Cross |
8/1(+6%) | (11) Spellacy's Cross 8/1, Bit below form comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Down Royal last time; stays well, acts on any (not raced on fast); fair mark on chase form, bit below that recently over hurdles. Won twice over fences at this venue last October, one place behind King Gris on Sunday. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (20/1 -67%)Strange Currency |
20/1(-67%) | (1) Strange Currency 20/1, Poor effort up to 3m when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Cork latest; cheekpieces first time; effective 2m3f, acts on heavy; below form of late. Unplaced twice since a promising third in a maiden at Punchestown, good 5lb claimer. |

PARADISE LOST was beaten two lengths behind Mojoe (won again since) over 2m3f at Punchestown and may have found 2m a little sharp when placed at Gowran Park last month. Ned In The Park should also appreciate this step up in distance, while Tangara Bay enters calculations on handicap debut after winning a maiden here last time. Thisain'tthat and Former Flame have also shown promise in maiden hurdles and are others to consider.

Henry de Bromhead's recent course maiden winner TANGARA BAY (nap) looks reasonably treated for her first handicap.

7/2(+36%) | (2) Quickkick 7/2, Yard won this last year; bit keen but confirmed debut promise tried in a hood 9l third in a bumper at Taunton most recent run; effective at 2m1f on good to soft; improvement likely, good chance in this. Running-on third in Taunton bumper; capable of better still, especially if settling better. |

11/2(-10%) | (7) Max D'airy 11/2, Bit keen but not without promise tried in a hood albeit comfortably held in a 4yo bumper at Kempton last time; effective at 2m on good; more to come for good yard. Debut second in France and not discredited when free-going Kempton fifth; can do better. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/11 +39%)Taranis Dubh |
10/11(+39%) | (3) Taranis Dubh 10/11, Very promising effort when 1/2l winner of a maiden point at Umma House on debut; has joined top yard which gets plenty of first time out winners in this sphere; good chance. Landed Irish point in October; son of Frontiersman must enter calculations for top stable. |

4th (5) (10/3 -21%)Duhallow Storm |
10/3(-21%) | (5) Duhallow Storm 10/3, 105,000 euros Walk In The Park gelding; dam useful bumper and hurdles winner; likely go well on debut for yard that does well in these events. 105,000euros 3yo; son of Walk In The Park rates an interesting newcomer for in-form yard. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/1 -83%)Chocks Away |
11/1(-83%) | (4) Chocks Away 11/1, Improved on debut effort up in trip 7l third in a bumper at Plumpton most recent run; effective 2m2f on good to soft; more to come but it is needed. Improved when third in Plumpton bumper latest; may do better still so not out of things. |

6th (6) (200/1 -100%)Jubilee Jack |
200/1(-100%) | (6) Jubilee Jack 200/1, Well below debut level down the field in an Amateurs' bumper at Chepstow most recent; off a short-break; major improvement needed. Failed to beat a rival in bumpers at Wincanton and Chepstow either side of Christmas. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (200/1 -100%)Gospel Moon |
200/1(-100%) | (1) Gospel Moon 200/1, Poor debut well beaten in a bumper at Exeter only start; trainer in form; off a short-break; major improvement needed. Beat one in bumper at Exeter on his debut in January; needs to take a major step forward. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (150/1 -50%)Ta Ra For Now Jack |
150/1(-50%) | (8) Ta Ra For Now Jack 150/1, Poor debut well beaten in a maiden bumper at Chepstow only start; off a short-break; hard to make a case for. Last of eight in Chepstow bumper on her debut; significantly more is required. |

Point-to-point winner Taranis Dubh goes for the in-form Olly Murphy team and warrants a market check, but QUICKKICK has experience on his side after taking a step forward in a first-time hood to finish third at Taunton in February. With the potential for more to come, he looks the one to beat. Chocks Away is going the right way and is another to keep a close eye on.

Anthony Honeyball's newcomer DUHALLOW STORM fetched 105,000 euros as a 3yo and this son of Walk In The Park could prove the answer here

10/11(+24%) | (3) Lara Antipova 10/11, Good effort off a long break with a wide trip when second beaten 2l in a maiden at Wolverhampton latest; suited by 6f, acts on a sound surface; can improve a little from reappearance. Clear second on debut last summer and again on comeback; sets the standard on either run. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3/1 -33%)Lahan Kingman |
3/1(-33%) | (2) Lahan Kingman 3/1, Ran to form off a break when second beaten 5l in a novice at Wolverhampton latest; effective 7f, acts on goods to firm and AW; still open to improvement. Distant second (at odds-on) to her main market rival on comeback; drops in trip. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/1 +9%)Leonie |
5/1(+9%) | (4) Leonie 5/1, Touch keen but ran at least to debut form when 6 1/4l third in a novice at Wolverhampton most recent run; trainer in form; sprint-bred but gets 7f, acts on AW; bit to come. Behind Lahan Kingman latest; drops in trip tonight; handicaps may be her chance to shine. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/1 +21%)Stolen |
11/1(+21%) | (5) Stolen 11/1, Fair debut effort beaten 10l in a maiden at Leicester on debut last July; can improve but may need the experience and the run. Not without support behind a couple of useful fillies on debut last summer; market helpful. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (12/1 -85%)Cosmic |
12/1(-85%) | (1) Cosmic 12/1, 50,000 euros Starman filly; dam useful at 7f; yard can have the ready first time but this quite a tough ask. 50,000euros yearling; wouldn't need to be anything out of the ordinary on debut. |

LAHAN KINGMAN finished third to Guineas hope Touleen on her debut, so it was a shade disappointing that she was unable to build on that effort at Wolverhampton last month. That was her seasonal return, though, and if taking a step forward she should have an excellent chance of breaking the maiden tag. Lara Antipova and Leonie can battle it out for second.

Good support for either Cosmic or Stolen would give things a different complexion, but LARA ANTIPOVA looks the one to beat.

5/2(-43%) | (10) Numero Ventotto 5/2, Gentlewave filly; half-sister to moderate maiden Hyperbole; dam sister to a useful winner over hurdles; top trainer traditionally does well in bumpers and this one is likely to go well. Out of a well-connected bumper winner and represents a top stable. |

2nd (6) (11/4 +61%)Royal March |
11/4(+61%) | (6) Royal March 11/4, Yard won this last year; £7,500 Dartmouth gelding; dam 2m4f hurdles winner; stable quite capable at readying one and this one makes some appeal. Out of a 2m4f hurdle winner; wily trainer's bumper horses are always worth a look. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (6/1 +20%)Sea Lord |
6/1(+20%) | (7) Sea Lord 6/1, 1,000gns Le Havre gelding; dam very useful at 8f; good Flat yard and this one is of strong interest on debut, especially if the betting speaks positively about his chance. Brother to a useful Flat winner; first National Hunt runner for respected Flat stable. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (9/1 +10%)Crystal Glade |
9/1(+10%) | (9) Crystal Glade 9/1, Crystal Ocean filly; half-sister to Rainyday Woman, smart at 20f; trainer in form and is capable in bumpers, so this one warrants a market check at least on debut. Trainer is not prolific in bumpers but has done well with this filly's family. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (7/2 +42%)Popalot |
7/2(+42%) | (5) Popalot 7/2, Promising debut when third beaten 3 1/2l in a bumper here; returning from a break; effective 2m1f on GS; improvement likely. Shaped with significant promise when third of five over C&D in November. |

16/1(+52%) | (1) Bite The Bullet 16/1, Moderate debut when well beaten in a bumper at Huntingdon only start; improvement likely but very much needed for his good yard. Stable usually does well in bumpers but this fellow struggled on last month's debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (10/1 +75%)Denis The Badger |
10/1(+75%) | (2) Denis The Badger 10/1, Frontiersman gelding; third doal of an unraced mare; makes no appeal on debut unless betting strongly suggests otherwise. Third foal from an unraced dam; stable has only occasional bumper winners. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (150/1 -20%)Middlecliffe |
150/1(-20%) | (4) Middlecliffe 150/1, Too keen and didn't get home when comfortably held in a bumper at Wetherby last time; all to prove after two poor runs. Well beaten at triple-digit odds on both starts last month. |

Don Cantillon doesn't have many in his care but it's extremely interesting that he targets the same bumper won 12 months ago by American Empire. The Newmarket-handler sends ROYAL MARCH this time around who, on paper at least, looks to have a fair chance. Nicky Henderson's filly Numero Ventotto merits the utmost respect, as does Doncaster runner-up Batchelor's Lad. Sea Lord is James Tate's first ever runner in this sphere and he warrants a market check with that in mind.

Top of the list is Nicky Henderson's well-bred filly NUMERO VENTOTTO but Sea Lord also makes appeal on paper.

12/1(+14%) | (13) Ballyglass Beauty 12/1, Hurdled poorly when fourth beaten 52l in a handicap at Cork latest; cheekpieces first time; suited by 3m, acts on soft and good; form has tailed off since brought down. Remote fourths here last twice, on dangerous mark if cheekpieces provide spark. |

8/1(+20%) | (4) Better Times 8/1, Improved up in trip landing a handicap hurdle by 2 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Downpatrick last time; effective 2m4f-2m6f, acts on soft and yielding; more to come now handicapping. Up 6lb for Downpatrick win latest, this harder but may be more to come once rain misses. |

9/2(+18%) | (1) Rusty Harkness 9/2, Well backed, solid effort when second beaten 11l in a maiden hurdle at Thurles latest;stays 2 1/2m, may get further, acts on yielding and possibly heavy; major chance. H'cap debutant, promise in maidens at 2m-2m7f, opening mark may be workable. |

14/1(+13%) | (3) Verdant Place 14/1, Bit better effort though comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Cork last time; tongue-tie first time; stays 3m, acts on heavy and yielding; not in the best form. Yet to fire this season, latest fifth a remote one, maybe new tongue tie can help. |

4/1(+33%) | (8) Midnight Our Fred 4/1, Tired late on ground softer than ideal but did much the best of those up with the pace when fourth beaten 19l in a handicap hurdle at Leopardstown latest; effective 2 1/2-3m, suited by sound surface. Failed to exploit lower hurdles mark last two starts in this sphere, best on good ground. |

Weakened over 18.5f on h'cap debut latest, cheekpeices go on and steps up in trip now. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (7/1 -40%)Ishan |

Now 2lb below last win, shaped well the last twice, rain would enhance his chance. |

50/1(+24%) | (5) Getaway Charlie 50/1, Needed run down the field in a handicap hurdle at Cork most recent run; effective 3m, wants decent ground; inconsistent of late. On long losing run, poor efforts last thrice, tailed off latest, others appeal more. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (50/1 -25%)Roxboro River |
50/1(-25%) | (11) Roxboro River 50/1, Better effort back over hurdles when fourth beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle at Stratford latest; stays 3m, suited by sound surface; was hinting at a return to better form but off a break here. Won off this mark on fast ground last July, easy ground a worry here on return from break. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (8/1 +11%)Rhythmic Tune |
8/1(+11%) | (12) Rhythmic Tune 8/1, Ran with some credit on Flat debut beaten 6 1/2l at Punchestown last time; in pretty good form over hurdles prior; effective 2-2 1/2m, may get bit further, acts on yielding and good; chance. 22/1(+33%) | (2) Ontheropes 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Downpatrick latest; better over hurdlesin Jan and Feb; effective 3m, best with cut; inconsistent veteran but not out of it. No win since Oct' 2021, tailed off and pulled up the last twice, needs to revive. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (28/1 -75%)Cullig |
28/1(-75%) | (9) Cullig 28/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse latest; better effort beaten 17l off 104 previous start; effective up to 3m, acts on spft and good; hard to fancy. Progress of last season has stalled, pulled up two of last three starts, needs to rebound. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (28/1 +58%)Rajsalad |
28/1(+58%) | (14) Rajsalad 28/1, Pulled up in a beginners chase chase at Punchestown latest and in poor form over hurdles before that; cheekpieces first time; effective 2 1/2m to 3m; regressive. No win since Feb' 2022, failed to complete four of last five, cheekpieces tried. |

RHYTHMIC TUNE appreciated the step up to 2m5f when winning at Limerick in October and probably found the ground too deep at the same venue over Christmas. He's had a little pipe-opener on the level since and may be able to resume his progression as he goes further up in distance here. This trip holds no fears for Ishan and he has run well in both recent starts after returning from a year off. Point-to-point winner Forceonmyown may be suited by stepping up in trip for her second start in a handicap.

WAKEY WAKEY MAN has been shaping like this longer trip will suit recently so he is narrowly preferred.

40/1(-82%) | (11) Parole Board 40/1, May not have stayed 1m when well beaten in a handicap here latest; cheekpieces first time; no really measurable form. Always behind on her C&D handicap debut when last seen; makes little appeal. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (15/2 -7%)My Old Mate |
15/2(-7%) | (7) My Old Mate 15/2, Too slowly away down the field in a maiden at Newbury most recent start; hadn't shown much in first two starts; bred for at least a mile; should do better ridden more conservatively. Been gelded; begins handicap life, on his AW debut (dam a winner round Dundalk), unexposed. |

10th (12) (66/1 -164%)Bosh Soldier |

11th (6) (25/1 -213%)Dora Vita |
25/1(-213%) | (6) Dora Vita 25/1, Finished as if further may suit beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark at Wolverhampton over 7f last time; wide draw; effective 7f, 1m may suit better, acts on AW; may yet progress given longer trips. Little chance the way the race unfolded on handicap debut and that gave some hope. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (25/1 -108%)Lightning Hooves |
25/1(-108%) | (10) Lightning Hooves 25/1, Similar moderate form to first two starts down in trip when comfortably held in a maiden at Wolverhampton last time; bred to be suited by 1m; yet to show any reliable form, step back up in trip may help. Goes beyond 7f for the first time on his handicap debut; little to recommend him. |

So long as stall 11 isn't too much of a hindrance, it might pay to side with DORA VITA. Richard Phillips' charge kept on well into fourth over 7f at Wolverhampton last time out and there might be more to come now upped to a mile. Similar comments apply to Kempton second Sail On Sailor, while market support for Lordsbridge Bay and Adores ahead of their handicap debuts would be interesting.

A chance is taken on DORA VITA, who had little chance trying to come from off the pace last time. Sail On Sailor is next best.

20/1(-135%) | (15) Added Bonus 20/1, Ran to current form when fourth beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle here latest; effective 2m, acts on any; not at best but chance in a poor race. Veteran showed that he retains some ability when fourth in a 2m3f handicap here last month. |

66/1(-200%) | (13) La Rocca Lass 66/1, Poor effort down the field in a maiden hurdle at Thurles most recent run; effectve 2m, acts on yielding; minor promise in bumpers but poor of late. Placed only once in seven bumper starts, tailed off at huge odds in four maiden hurdles. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (40/1 -400%)Ray Gun |
40/1(-400%) | (6) Ray Gun 40/1, Poor effort down the field in a graduation hurdle at Punchestown most recent start; probably wants a sound surface; fair 12f AW horse on the Flat, yet to show anything over hurdles on poor ground. Won at a modest level on AW in Britain. weak maiden hurdle form, better ground may help. |

Worthwhile recent form is at a premium, but a case can be made for OLD KENMARE on his runner-up effort over C&D a year ago. The Frozen Fire gelding should come on from his run here earlier in the month and can go well. No Big Deal produced a consistent spell of form last autumn, including a C&D win, and should be sharper for last month's outing at Cork. A four-time winner on the Flat for Michael Bell, Cock And Bull is another to note.

Only 4lb higher than when winning over C&D last October, NO BIG DEAL should be near peak form again after a run at Cork last month.

Closed out last season with a win in a seller; has to improve on his five handicap efforts. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (25/1 -178%)Panama Black |

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (50/1 -213%)Warning Sign |
50/1(-213%) | (7) Warning Sign 50/1, Poor effort down to a mile on reappearance beaten 7l in a handicap here last time; in good form prior; effective 8-12f, acts on any except heavy; usually consistent and good chance will bounce back after a pipe-opener. Dual Sandown winner last summer; may need some help from the handicapper. |

HELM ROCK has a 4lb penalty to contend with for winning at Kempton recently but the manner of that performance suggests he could be up to the task, especially because he wasn't winning out of turn following a creditable second at Wolverhampton. Mr Baloo is entitled to get a bit closer on these terms but the gut feeling is that the selection will confirm his superiority. Epictetus is noted too.

This can go to MR BALOO (nap), who boasts such a good record in the spring and is 4lb better off with the penalised Helm Rock.

9th (5) (50/1 0%)The Goose's Acre |
50/1(0%) | (5) The Goose's Acre 50/1, May have found ground too testing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Leopardstown most recent run; effective 2m to 2m6f on yielding to soft and good; needs return to form on chase debut. Chasing debutant, rated 92 over hurdles, has to improve massively, hard to fancy. |

GOLDINTHEMOUNTAINS has been lightly raced since winning a bumper at Leopardstown's Christmas meeting in 2023 and comes back from nearly five months off here. When last seen, the Almanzor gelding raced prominently and showed up well for a long way in a hot beginners' chase at Punchestown won by Kitzbuhel. Dropping back in trip should suit and he might take a bit of pegging back. Useful hurdler Royal Hollow is a free-going type and returns from a layoff to make her chasing debut, while Son Of Anarchy has won a point-to-point and probably wants a stiffer test of stamina.

ROYAL HOLLOW gets the vote on her chase debut. She lacks a run but trip and ground look ideal and her yard is in good form

7th (4) (22/1 -10%)Chhota Saab |
22/1(-10%) | (4) Chhota Saab 22/1, Poor effort down the field in a handicap at Kempton most recent start; effective at 5/6f, acts on AW; form has very much gone the wrong way. Last of ten in 6f Kempton handicap 13 days ago; steps up markedly in trip here. |

GREY SANDS is improving and looks well worth sticking with following a smooth Southwell success last time. He's unexposed in handicaps and stretching out in trip can ensure he remains a step ahead of the assessor. Lady Milton is very much respected on her return in pursuit of three wins on the spin, while C&D winner Bergamo Gold should also be taken seriously.

Roger Teal has his string in excellent nick and PANGBOURNE is taken to build on a good Wolverhampton second and get off the mark.

Impressive win on chase debut at Downpatrick, this is harder but should go well again. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (20/1 +20%)Ad Caelum |
20/1(+20%) | (6) Ad Caelum 20/1, Pulled up in Listed Mares Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse latest; in good form prior to that; effective 2 1/2m to 3m, wants decent ground but acts with cut; better ground may help here. 0-10 over fences, yet to get to closer than 11l to the winner in chases, others preferred. |

LITTLEFOOT scored on his chase debut and is a capable type. Although the selection has finished runner-up six times, one of those was when finishing second in a Red Mills series final at last year's Punchestown Festival. Great Universe finished third in the recent Downpatrick race which Littlefoot won and, on these terms, he should get closer. Coral River finished third in the aforementioned Punchestown hurdle race and also makes some appeal.

The form of the Fairyhouse race in which CORAL RIVER was second has received multiple boosts and he is taken to get his first chase win

Profit Street is a model of consistency and ought to be bang there at the finish, while Daisy Roots is another to consider closely and Zubaru might be one for the each-way players. Global Warning is second choice behind PROFIT STREET, who continues to thrive and can garner a fourth C&D victory this year.
