1st (7) (4/9 +84%)Viscountess Nelson |
4/9(+84%) | (7) Viscountess Nelson 4/9, Promising debut over hurdles when second beaten a length in a maiden hurdle at Plumpton latest; effective 2m-2m4f on good to soft; point winner with more to come under rules. Plumpton runner-up; something to find with the Elliott runners but open to improvement. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (16/1 +11%)Frankies Fortune |
16/1(+11%) | (4) Frankies Fortune 16/1, Below rules debut level when down the field in a maiden bumper at Carlisle most recent; effective at 3m in points; may need more time. Point winner; needs to improve upon her bumper form to make an impact on hurdle debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (7/4 -40%)Celtic Alliance |
7/4(-40%) | (8) Celtic Alliance 7/4, Promising debut 3l winner in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel on debut; effective 2m on soft; looks a useful prospect for top Irish yard. Won 4yo maiden hurdle at Clonmel three weeks ago on her sole start; major player. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (22/1 +33%)Oor Wish |
22/1(+33%) | (5) Oor Wish 22/1, Again no threat when comfortably held in a bumper at Kelso last time; usually held up; effective at 2m on heavy; improvement needed now up in trip over hurdles. Bred to be suited by step up in trip on hurdle debut but still likely she'll come up short. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (125/1 -56%)Aristelle |
125/1(-56%) | (2) Aristelle 125/1, Poor hurdles debut well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Carlisle latest; effective 2m1f on soft; needs more and may do better once handicapping. Displayed ability in one of her bumpers but tailed off at 50-1 on recent hurdle debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (150/1 -275%)Quinnfinity |
150/1(-275%) | (9) Quinnfinity 150/1, 6,000 euros Jet Away filly; half-sister to Lone Wolf, smart at 2m4f; not an easy one to make a case for on debut. 6,000euros 3yo; half-sister to two winners but probably best watched on debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (250/1 +0%)Bracing Brook |
250/1(+0%) | (3) Bracing Brook 250/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle at Ayr on debut; will need more time and looks a no-hoper in this. 500-1 when pulled up on debut in a novice hurdle at Ayr (2m, soft) last November. |

Gordon Elliott appears to hold all the aces and Harry Cobden's presence on board DUNSY ROCK would suggest she is the number one hope. An encouraging fourth when unconsidered on her Down Royal debut, she confirmed that promise by justifying favouritism at Fairyhouse and the minor placegetters have both won since. Her stablemate Celtic Alliance got off the mark at the first time of asking at Clonmel and is dangerous in receipt of weight. Viscountess Nelson was a pleasing second at Plumpton on her timber bow and is the main stumbling block standing in the way of the Irish raiders.

This could be between the two previous hurdle winners, both trained by Gordon Elliott. DUNSY ROCK is preferred over Celtic Alliance.

1st (6) (13/8 +53%)Fighter's Spirit |
13/8(+53%) | (6) Fighter's Spirit 13/8, Masar gelding; dam very useful French winner at 7f, related to some Listed performers; stable can ready one and he could easily be good enough on debut. Godolphin debutant by Masar out of 7f winner; heed the market signals. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/4 +62%)Cape Fear |
5/4(+62%) | (3) Cape Fear 5/4, Improved on modest debut 4l third in a novice at Bath most recent run; trainer in form; effective 10f on good; more to come, chance in this. Fared better upped to 1m2f at Bath; related to a few winners for his yard; respected. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/2 -80%)Three No Trumps |
9/2(-80%) | (8) Three No Trumps 9/2, Bit below debut level but with excuses, maybe didn't stay when comfortably held in a maiden at Doncaster last time; effective at 8f on AW; respected on debut effort. May improve with Doncaster reappearance under his belt and this seems an easier race. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (22/1 -120%)Le Morbihan |
22/1(-120%) | (5) Le Morbihan 22/1, Sea The Moon gelding; dam unraced sister to a useful winner at around 8f; probably best watched on debut, with trainer remaining on the cold list. 65,000euros yearling; from family of Group 1 scorers; nicely bred newcomer. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (12/1 -100%)Al Maslool |
12/1(-100%) | (1) Al Maslool 12/1, Lacked pace beaten 8 1/2l in a novice at Yarmouth last time; effective 8f, acts on AW; bit more to come now upped in trip. One of the main contenders on penultimate effort; ready for a crack at this new trip. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (12/1 -20%)It's Debatable |
12/1(-20%) | (4) It's Debatable 12/1, 40,000gns Sottsass gelding; brother to French 8-12f winner Dixmude; dam US turf winner; worth a market check on debut. 40,000gns yearling; this debutant represents an in-form stable; interesting. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (25/1 -25%)Barak Warrior |
25/1(-25%) | (2) Barak Warrior 25/1, 20,000gns breeze-up purchase by Teofilo; dam useful at 7f as a 2yo; tough enough task on debut and rates an unlikely winner. 20,000gns 2yo; by Teofilo; one of several newcomers in the field; market instructive. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (80/1 -344%)Mayflower Billy |
80/1(-344%) | (7) Mayflower Billy 80/1, Improved on poor debut with cheekpieces removed when fourth beaten 4 1/4l in a novice at Thirsk latest; effective 8f on good; could improve up to 10f but more of a handicap type. Appeared to run well at Thirsk last time but looks one for handicaps. |

Saeed bin Suroor has his first UK runner in 2026 in the shape of FIGHTER'S SPIRIT. The son of Masar is from the family of a handful of Listed winners, including a pair trained by the Newmarket handler in Elite Army and Pure Diamond, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him make a successful introduction. Cape Fear has a run under his belt this season having improved from his debut to finish third at Bath. Le Morbihan has a really interesting pedigree and is worth a market watch.

The suggestion is CAPE FEAR who may well take another step forward. Al Maslool is second pick.

11/8(+50%) | (5) Mr Finch 11/8, Improved on better ground when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Newbury last time; effective over 2m3f+, acts on good to soft and soft; debut form franked. Ran fairly well last time behind two useful novices; this looks easier. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (7/2 -75%)Testing Patience |
7/2(-75%) | (8) Testing Patience 7/2, Improved from second start over hurdles when second beaten 2 1/4l in a maiden hurdle at Fontwell latest; stays 2m5f, acts on good to soft and good; progressing. Going the right way judged on his second to an odds-on favourite at Fontwell. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/1 +17%)Lightfingered Jack |
5/1(+17%) | (4) Lightfingered Jack 5/1, Bit below form on soft ground when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Doncaster last time; trainer in form; off a short-break; effective 2m4f, acts on good to soft; still early days, could bounce back. Hasn't kicked on from his encouraging debut and probably needs to better that form. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (18/1 +10%)Vanderflier |
18/1(+10%) | (9) Vanderflier 18/1, Didn't get home over 3m on soft when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow last time; cheekpieces first time; 3m point winner but drop back in trip looked needed last time, though that could've just been the ground. Irish point winner; had a wind operation since finishing weakly in both hurdle runs. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (13/2 -63%)Scottish Anthem |
13/2(-63%) | (6) Scottish Anthem 13/2, Struggled when beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap at York last time; more to come judged on flat form and may get bit further than 2m. Useful Flat horse who was runner-up on final run over hurdles last summer. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (125/1 -56%)Style De Folie |
125/1(-56%) | (7) Style De Folie 125/1, Poor effort second start after a wind operation when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Fontwell most recent; cheekpieces first time; more needed to figure now hurdling. 50-1 when he finished a long way behind Testing Patience at Fontwell; cheekpieces added. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (50/1 -355%)Hay Max |
50/1(-355%) | (2) Hay Max 50/1, Didn't jump well when 29l third in a maiden hurdle at Sedgefield most recent run; effective 2m+, acts on good; promise in bumpers. Third on debut; beaten 26l+ in subsequent races, the latest his hurdle debut at Sedgefield. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (200/1 -300%)Fullythermal |
200/1(-300%) | (1) Fullythermal 200/1, Disappointing when well beaten in previous two starts, including an amateurs' bumper at Haydock latest; could improve a little for initial experience but needs to. This brother to a 3m5f chase winner is probably one for further down the line. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (200/1 -33%)Virtuose D'ainay |
200/1(-33%) | (10) Virtuose D'ainay 200/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon latest; minor promise in a 3m point. Huge odds when pulled up in both runs over hurdles last year. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (9/1 0%)Jorah D'alma |
9/1(0%) | (3) Jorah D'alma 9/1, Better effort tried in a tongue-tie up to 2m3f 15l when third in a maiden hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee most recent run; acts on good to soft and good; going the right way over hurdles. Improved third at Bangor but probably needs to step up again to beat the best of these. |

TESTING PATIENCE showed the benefit of his opening fourth over hurdles at Kempton when finishing a good second at Fontwell. The six-year-old sandwiched himself between two useful yardsticks and a similar performance could see a breakthrough victory. Although Lightfingered Jack has an official rating of 113, his last two efforts left something to be desired so a bigger threat may emerge from Mr Finch, who arrives on the back of a respectable fifth at Newbury.

Testing Patience is the one they all have to beat but MR FINCH ran well for a long way in a stronger race than this at Newbury.

1st (1) (11/4 +39%)A King Of Magic |
11/4(+39%) | (1) A King Of Magic 11/4, Improved again when second beaten 1/2l in a novice hurdle at Sedgefield latest; effective around 2m, acts on heavy and good to soft; bumper form franked at Graded level over hurdles, more to come. He's shaped as though he'll be suited by the step up in trip; lots to like on h'cap debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (9/2 -29%)Bel Ombre |
9/2(-29%) | (8) Bel Ombre 9/2, Did it comfortably, improved down in class on handicap debut when landing a handicap by 3l off a 10lb lower mark at Taunton last time; trainer in form; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m5f, acts on soft and good; more to come in handicaps. Well-backed winner on handicap debut at Taunton in January & the form has worked out well. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (18/1 -13%)La Vish |
18/1(-13%) | (7) La Vish 18/1, Improved up in trip and down in class when winning a novice hurdle at Warwick by 3 1/4l last time; usually held up; effective 2m3f2m5f, acts on good to soft and good; more to come now handicapping. Outsider of three when winning Warwick novice; the strength of that form is questionable. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (33/1 +34%)Bois Guillbert |
33/1(+34%) | (5) Bois Guillbert 33/1, Never in the race, disappointing hurdles return down the field in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh most recent; off a short-break; effective 2m on good to soft and good; struggling for form of late and not as good over hurdles. On a dangerous mark but has struggled over fences/hurdles on his three runs this season. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (4/1 -33%)Joeybottles |
4/1(-33%) | (6) Joeybottles 4/1, Improved up in trip and down in class on handicap debut after wind op when landing a handicap by 10l off a 10lb lower mark at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on good to soft and good; could remain ahead of mark. Easy win on last month's handicap debut at Bangor and a 10lb rise may not stop him. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (8/1 -33%)Platin Moon |
8/1(-33%) | (9) Platin Moon 8/1, Run of race, good attitude when landing a handicap by a head off a 4lb lower mark at Ayr last time; effective 2m, acts with cut; in good form and new mark looks fair, but is stepping up in trip. Front-runner who has won two of his last three starts; further improvement is possible. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (10/1 +38%)Largy Meadow |
10/1(+38%) | (10) Largy Meadow 10/1, Back to best with hood removed and switching to drier ground beaten 3/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; usually held up; effective at 2m-2m4f on soft and good; more to come and new mark manageable. Went close at Newcastle recently and drying conditions would aid his cause. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (20/1 -186%)King Jon Oliver |
20/1(-186%) | (2) King Jon Oliver 20/1, Yard has won last two runnings of race; made mistakes under pressure but back to form back on better ground when fourth beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter latest; effective 2m4f-2m7f, acts on good to soft; mark demands more but better than showed latest. The drop back down in trip could help and his trainer has a good record in this race. |

A wind operation helped harness JOEYBOTTLES' potential and he made a sparkling handicap debut at Bangor. The five-year-old strolled home by 10 lengths, but gets only a tentative vote because Bel Ombre also made a successful start to his handicap career at Taunton, while Platin Moon and La Vish arrive in winning form too. Add into the mix an unexposed handicap debutant from the Paul Nicholls stable in the shape of A King Of Magic, plus Monaco Rules, King Jon Oliver and Largy Meadow, and the scene is set for a really competitive affair.

The step up in trip looks set to be a good move for the Paul Nicholls-trained A KING OF MAGIC and he can make a winning handicap debut.

1st (3) (2/1 +50%)Matteo |
2/1(+50%) | (3) Matteo 2/1, Yard won this last year; 25 Feb; 43,000 euros Coulsty colt; half-brother to Alainn Tu, fair at 5f; dam smart at 5f as a 2yo; interesting on debut, especially if market speaks in his favour. Out of 5f winner; yard won this last year and already had a winning 2yo newcomer in 2026. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (5/2 +25%)Lauralynn |
5/2(+25%) | (10) Lauralynn 5/2, Bit wide but showed promise on debut third beaten 4 1/4l in a novice here debut; effective at 5f on good to soft; chance if building on C&D debut. Quite promising debut 3rd over C&D (40-1) last week; open to improvement. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (80/1 -220%)Concert Pitch |
80/1(-220%) | (5) Concert Pitch 80/1, 14 Feb; 7,000 euros Kuroshio colt; half-brother to Romantic War, fair at 7f; tough enough task on debut. 7,000euros yearling; likely best watched against 2yos with speedier pedigrees. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/2 +53%)Arrbob |
7/2(+53%) | (1) Arrbob 7/2, Green and got behind early but finished well in the Brockelsby at Doncaster only start; speedily-bred; well-grown colt, should make marked improvement from debut. Bred to be a good sprinter; very slowly away but some promise on debut; can improve. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (11/2 -83%)Beautiful Rainbow |
11/2(-83%) | (8) Beautiful Rainbow 11/2, 5 Apr; 40,000 euros Cotai Glory filly; dam very useful at 6f as a 2yo, stayed 8f and related to Group performers; good yard and this one could easily be good enough on debut. Useful sprinting pedigree; yard 1-7 with 2yos here in last five years; market check needed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (16/1 +27%)Craven Force |
16/1(+27%) | (6) Craven Force 16/1, 15 Feb; 16,000gns Caturra colt; half-brother to Sesame Birah, very smart at 7f; dam very useful at 10f; top course jockey but looks an unlikely winner on debut. 16,000gns yearling; no surprise if this 5f proves on the sharp side on debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (100/1 -300%)Ronson |
100/1(-300%) | (4) Ronson 100/1, 23 Feb; Ubettabelieveit colt; dam fair at 5f at 2yo; wide draw on debut makes things tricky and is probably best watched. Useful sprinting pedigree; yard has low strike-rate in 2yo maiden/novices in recent years. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (66/1 -65%)Amantha |
66/1(-65%) | (7) Amantha 66/1, Never in it after a slow start when well beaten in a novice here only start; wide draw; bred for 6-8f; might need more time and further. 28-1 for recent C&D debut when finishing at the back of the pack; unlikely this time. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (11/1 -10%)Disbelief |
11/1(-10%) | (2) Disbelief 11/1, 18 Jan; £26,000 Ubettabelieveit gelding; dam moderate at 7f; looks an unlikely winner on debut, although stable did get several decent juveniles last season. Early foal; £26,000 yearling; has been gelded; market can guide. |

Lauralynn outran her 40/1 odds when hitting the frame over C&D last week and she has to be considered with that experience under her belt. That said, she faces some interesting newcomers, with BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW appealing most. A 40,000-euro yearling from the family of Amadeus Wolf, she gets the vote from an ideal draw. Others to consider include Half A Hoof and Matteo.

The betting will help to sort them out but MATTEO represents a yard that won this in 2025 and has already sent out a useful 2yo winner.

1st (4) (15/2 -125%)Lipa K |
15/2(-125%) | (4) Lipa K 15/2, Too much to do when ridden to see out the trip beaten 1 1/4l off a lower mark at Aintree last time; effective 2 1/2m, just about gets 3m, acts on most ground; still improving. A 3lb rise for last time sees him on a career-high mark and he's been off a good while. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/1 -11%)Thank You Ma'am |
5/1(-11%) | (2) Thank You Ma'am 5/1, Went clear, outpaced, returned to form back on better ground when 4 1/4l third in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby most recent run; effective 2m4f-3m on a sound surface; back below last winning mark, could build on recent revival. Exposed but firmly in the mix after his return to form at Wetherby (3m). |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/1 +44%)Benign Dictator |
5/1(+44%) | (5) Benign Dictator 5/1, Outpaced, raced lazily, unsuited by way race developed when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on any; inconsistent of late. Course winner in December but hasn't really approached that level since. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/5 +47%)J J Moon |
6/5(+47%) | (1) J J Moon 6/5, Returned to form jumping much better when beaten 3/4l at Newbury last time; cheekpieces first time; effective over 2 1/2-3m; progressive if run when pulled-up on penultimate start discounted. Perhaps outbattled at Newbury last time and the cheekpieces could be significant. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (12/1 +64%)Everyonesgame |
12/1(+64%) | (6) Everyonesgame 12/1, Needed run, ran well to a point when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on good; back in form until latest couple of runs. Below par last time but repeat of his early-season form wouldn't see him far away. |

Having ended last year's campaign with a good runner-up effort at Aintree, Lipa K must enter calculations on his return to action. That said, he is effectively 9lb higher in the ratings without Ben Smith's 6lb claim, which could leave the door open for the race-fit J J MOON. Emma Lavelle's charge bounced back to form with a close-up second at Newbury and a 1lb nudge up the ratings is workable. Handicap debutant Step Ahead is a feasible alternative stepping up in trip.

The application of cheekpieces could be key for J J MOON who looked as though he would win at Newbury before outbattled late on.

Absent since November 2024 but on a competitive mark and one to watch in the betting. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (3/1 0%)Soldier's Leap |
3/1(0%) | (8) Soldier's Leap 3/1, Travelled, ran to form but just outlasted by strong stayer beaten a length off a 2lb lower mark at Stratford last time; effective at 2m-2m3f, acts on soft and good; still well above last win mark but in form. 1l second at Stratford last month and he can be in the mix if seeing out this longer trip. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/1 +61%)Buy Some Time |
11/1(+61%) | (6) Buy Some Time 11/1, Needed run after wind op when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Kelso last time; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on good; should come on for latest, but needs more off a reduced mark. Soundly beaten at Kelso recently but may have needed it; handy mark on last April's form. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (10/1 +29%)Gentleman Bill |
10/1(+29%) | (1) Gentleman Bill 10/1, Raced wide, may not have stayed when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time; blinkers first time; effective 2m-2m4f on soft and good; form has tailed off. Well handicapped on this season's chase form but down the field on his last two starts. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (10/1 -122%)Timefortom |
10/1(-122%) | (3) Timefortom 10/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Newcastle latest; off a short-break; effective 2m5f, acts on soft and good; could improve now handicapping. Pulled up latest but has potential off opening mark if tapping back into earlier promise. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (9/1 -6%)Stoner's Choice |
9/1(-6%) | (2) Stoner's Choice 9/1, Every chance, below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow last time; trainer in form; effective 2m4f on decent ground; needs drop in grade, bit in and out of late. Course winner whose mark continues to fall but this 11yo is winless since April 2023. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (7/1 +36%)Heard That |
7/1(+36%) | (7) Heard That 7/1, Returned to form back down in trip when second beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Southwell latest; effective 2m4f-3m, suited by decent ground; fair mark still if backing up latest. Won off 7lb higher over fences here last April; 2nd over hurdles at Southwell last month. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (7/1 -17%)Karton Plein |
7/1(-17%) | (9) Karton Plein 7/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Southwell latest; usually held up; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft and good to soft; must bounce back. Third at Lingfield in January; pulled up at Southwell since but he's not written off. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (10/1 +9%)Lets Mingle |
10/1(+9%) | (5) Lets Mingle 10/1, Returned to form back down in trip 9 1/2l third in a novice hurdle at Ayr most recent run; returning from a break; effective 2m-2m7f, acts on soft and good; consistent. Below par on her last two starts but lightly raced and today's conditions could help. |

Olly Murphy has had success in this contest for the past two years and although Heard That arrives on the back of a Southwell second, Sean Bowen partners Karton Plein, who pulled up as joint-favourite in that contest. Soldier's Leap put a slightly underwhelming Carlisle display behind him when runner-up at Stratford, but it might be worth taking a chance on LETS MINGLE. The six-year-old has been given a break since an Ayr third in January and she remains open to improvement. Her stable companion Timefortom has to come into the reckoning too.

The novice TIMEFORTOM has had a break since being pulled up at Newcastle and could be on a good mark for this handicap debut.

9/2(-13%) | (6) Trilby 9/2, Again below form beaten 5l in a handicap at Catterick last time; effective 5/6f, acts on any, but better with some give; yet to fire in two starts this year. Impressive C&D winner last April on sole course start; handily weighted and can go well. |

10/1(+9%) | (2) Novello Lad 10/1, Never involved down the field in a handicap at Pontefract most recent; effective 6f, acts on good, suited by fast ground, unproven on soft; hard to predict. All best form at 6f on good or quicker; lacks recent run and now has first-ever run at 5f. |

5th (4) (6/1 -80%)Ventura Express |
6/1(-80%) | (4) Ventura Express 6/1, Ran to form beaten 1/4l off this mark at Newcastle last time; suited by 5f, acts on a sound surface; chance on latest. Won two of three C&D starts; on losing run but went close on AW latest; solid claims. |

6th (1) (18/1 -80%)Jenever |
18/1(-80%) | (1) Jenever 18/1, Bit below form beaten 4l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; effective 5/6f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; only just above last win mark, chance in this. Unraced here but this stiff 5f can suit and he's back on same mark as latest Sandown win. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (80/1 -300%)Until Dawn |
80/1(-300%) | (9) Until Dawn 80/1, Found little, below form beaten 8l in a handicap at Southwell last time; wide draw; effective 5f, acts on AW; bit to prove. Two AW wins at 5f in early 2025; below par in the autumn; first turf run for nearly a year. |

9/1(+55%) | (3) Arctic Summer 9/1, No impact back up in trip beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Doncaster last time; best at 6f, acts with cut; mark keeps easing, on a good mark if recapturing French best. Won over 6f in France as 2yo; high in weights since; may need more weight off her back. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (9/1 -29%)Tees Aggregates |
9/1(-29%) | (7) Tees Aggregates 9/1, Ran to form despite not best of runs beaten 3l off this mark at Southwell last time; suited by 5f on fast ground; chance on latest. Powerful front-running win over C&D in August; unlucky in running on recent AW return. |

I'M NEXT went close to making a winning return to action over C&D last week and Tim Easterby's gelding makes plenty of appeal in his bid to go one better, especially being 1lb well-in. C&D winner Tees Aggregates caught the eye at Southwell earlier this month and that effort should have put him spot-on for this, while Ventura Express completes the shortlist after his third at Newcastle.

I'm Next is one of several with C&D credentials but TEES AGGREGATES is preferred with the drying ground in his favour.

7/2(+65%) | (7) Realta Liath 7/2, Bit below form when second beaten 17l in a handicap chase at Stratford latest; effective 2 1/2m, acts on good to soft; steadily progressing. Closely matched with Party Vibes and Theonewedreamof on their Cheltenham clash in December. |

13/2(+70%) | (11) Queens Wish 13/2, Awkward under pressure, ran to form when fourth beaten 7l in a handicap chase at Southwell latest; usually held up; effective 2-3m, acts on good to soft and good; good mark. 1-8 for current yard and she's been plying her trade at a lower level; 2lb wrong. |

4th (5) (8/1 +76%)Sunday Soldier |
8/1(+76%) | (5) Sunday Soldier 8/1, No obvious excuse when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow latest; effective at around 2 1/2m and could struggle with this trip; flattered by Listed form. Multiple hurdle winner who is 0-5 over fences and has a bit to find with some of these. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (16/1 +0%)Minniemum |
16/1(+0%) | (3) Minniemum 16/1, Outpaced, no obvious excuse when fourth beaten 38l in a handicap chase at Wincanton latest; wants 3m-3m2f on good ground; below par of late. Won this last year but lacklustre in last three races; hard to support with any confidence. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (22/1 +21%)Lagonda |
22/1(+21%) | (10) Lagonda 22/1, Made too much use of on ground quicker than ideal when 31l third in a handicap chase at Wincanton most recent run; blinkers first time; effective 3m, acts on soft, good to soft; back on winning mark. Others arrive here in sharper form and this mare probably wants softer ground as well. |

The introduction of cheekpieces appeared to make a significant impact for KOSASIEMPRE when she landed the spoils over timber at Newbury. There could be more to come from the eight-year-old, with a left-handed track likely to help on her return to fences. Hereford winner Party Vibes shaped as if a step up in distance could untap some potential and she isn't taken lightly, while the hat-trick seeking Ede'iffs Rock will be dangerous if dictating the pace.

Genuine good ground would be a first for HOLETOWN but it was an excellent run on good to soft at Newbury last time.

10/1(-25%) | (4) Classic Maestro 10/1, Travelled but didn't stay, ran well to a point having been taken on up front when 14l third in a handicap chase at Ayr most recent run; enjoys making it; effective 2m-2m4f, suited by plenty of cut; inconsistent. Some positive runs this term but he may not have his favoured soft/heavy ground. |

6/1(-9%) | (1) Tommy's Oscar 6/1, Ran to form albeit lacked pace down in trip when fourth beaten 16l off 144 last time, same mark here; effective 2m-3m, acts on soft and good; classy veteran on a competitive mark still. Won at Carlisle then fourth in stronger race than this at Haydock last week; in the mix. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/4 +17%)Toothless |
11/4(+17%) | (6) Toothless 11/4, Ran to form just beaten by well treated progressive rival when second beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap chase at Sandown latest; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on heavy and good; over issues and progressing. Won at Windsor in January and runner-up to progressive winners on next two starts. |

C&D winner; hard to fancy on his 3 runs this term but change of headgear could be a plus. |

|PU| (8) (9/4 +74%)Westerninthepark |
9/4(+74%) | (8) Westerninthepark 9/4, Mistakes, never in the race when fourth beaten 54l in a handicap chase at Huntingdon latest; off a short-break; effective around 2m4f on heavy and good to soft; below best this term but handicapper is relenting, jumping becoming an issue. Major turnaround needed but he's on a dangerous mark and trainer has excellent record here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (11/2 -100%)Slanagaibhgoleir |
11/2(-100%) | (2) Slanagaibhgoleir 11/2, Up in trip on quick reappearance, didn't stay when well beaten in a handicap chase at Downpatrick latest; in good form prior; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on heavy and good; in form until latest, can bounce back. Some good form in this first chasing campaign; didn't stay 3m4f in Ulster National latest. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (25/1 +0%)Whistleinthedark |
25/1(+0%) | (3) Whistleinthedark 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Haydock latest; visor first time; effective 2m4f-3m, suited by decent ground; inconsistent, wants to dominate. He's struggled on his last two starts but three visits to Perth have yielded two wins. |

In a contest lacking depth for the grade, SLANAGAIBHGOLEIR is worth another chance. Progressive over fences until finding an extended 3m4f too far in the Ulster National, the drop in trip gives him an ideal opportunity to bounce back against rivals who have plenty to prove. Toothless has been consistent since the turn of the year and looks the most likely threat, while Classic Maestro and Tommy's Oscar head the remainder.

Having continued in good form since winning at Windsor on New Year's Day, TOOTHLESS can get back on the scoresheet this afternoon.

10/3(+0%) | (7) Frostmagic 10/3, Run of race, good attitude when landing a handicap by a neck off a 5lb lower mark at Southwell last time; significant jockey booking; effective 8-12f, acts on a sound surface; new mark asks more back on turf, although stiff 7f might suit. Made all at Southwell when last seen; could make another bold bid; stable 3-5 this month. |

Won at Newmarket in most recent turf attempt; possibilities back in this sphere. |

13/2(+19%) | (8) Highfield Viking 13/2, Bit too keen throughout beaten 3 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Redcar last time; effective 7f, acts on any possibly other than fast ground; mark still high. Drawn against the inner rail and could be a danger provided he's in top form. |

7/1(+56%) | (10) Yaajooz 7/1, Never involved, no real excuse beaten 5l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; effective 7/8f, acts on any; needs more. Form for current yard features a few second-place finishes that represent peak form. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (12/1 -71%)Lord Roxby |
12/1(-71%) | (3) Lord Roxby 12/1, Ran to form beaten 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Newmarket last time; suited by 6/7f, acts on sound surface; chance if ready for this return. Ran well when last seen but isn't crying out for this step back up in distance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (28/1 -100%)Surprised |
28/1(-100%) | (9) Surprised 28/1, Another poor run on second handicap start beaten 9l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; returning from long layoff; effective around 7f on a sound surface; probably on stiff enough mark still. Lightly raced; return to this C&D may have positive effect on stable/seasonal debut. |

MILTEYE stuck his neck out to prevail at Ripon last week and as that came in an apprentices' contest, he escapes a penalty. The performance was a big step forward from his comeback in the Spring Mile, but he is usually reliable and can follow up. Frostmagic began 2026 in fine form on the all-weather and has been freshened up since a Southwell success. Priapos has been given a slightly longer break since his hat-trick bid came up agonisingly short at the same venue, while Lord Roxby is a player if ready to roll.

The signs look particularly good for FROSTMAGIC (nap), especially if he's again able to dominate. A War Eagle is second pick.

An 11lb rise for her Bangor win asks major questions in this loftier grade. |

2nd (11) (11/1 +45%)Keep On Cobbling |
11/1(+45%) | (11) Keep On Cobbling 11/1, Returned to form back up in trip and just flattened out late back from break when 11l third in a handicap hurdle at Ayr most recent run; effective at 2m-2m5f, acts on good; progressive. Soft going perhaps not ideal the last time and this 6yo is bred to improve with her racing. |

16/1(-45%) | (2) Rockola Vogue 16/1, Outpaced, outclassed and comfortably held in Beeswing Mares' Hurdle (Listed) at Kelso last time; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on good to soft and good. Progress has stalled since early-season wins and looks on a hard mark. |

17/2(+39%) | (4) Greyval 17/2, Ran about to form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow last time; cheekpieces first time; off a short-break; stays the trip, acts on soft and good ground; consistent. Last year's winner; plenty in her favour for a bold defence with cheekpieces added. |

8/1(+33%) | (10) Audacious Annie 8/1, Ran to balance of form when fourth beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Fakenham latest; off a short-break; effective over 2m and a bit, acts on soft and good; back in form, fair mark. Good record here but appears to have little margin for error off this mark. |

9/2(+25%) | (7) Crazierthandaisy 9/2, Outpaced and just failed when back to form down in class beaten a neck off a 1lb lower mark at Uttoxeter last time; effective around this trip, appears best on sound surface; form in and out of late, may do better over slightly further. 5lb above only mark she's defied in a handicap and a 7lb claimer was employed last time. |

|PU| (5) (14/1 -115%)Pretending |
14/1(-115%) | (5) Pretending 14/1, Ridden out and ran to form when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 4lb lower mark at Market Rasen last time; off a short-break; effective 2 1/2m, acts on soft and good. Third last year; made a handy return to form when winning at Market Rasen. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (40/1 -21%)Country Mouse |
40/1(-21%) | (12) Country Mouse 40/1, May have found ground on the soft side on handicap debut when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time; cheekpieces first time; effective 2m+; point winner. 3rd in a novice in December; lesser runs have followed, including handicap debut when 25-1. |

Pretending returned to winning ways at Market Rasen in February and has been victorious in this grade before, so she needs to be taken seriously. Bangor victor Service Minimum is bound to have supporters for the in-form Skeltons, but SIOG GEAL makes plenty of appeal. Fergal O'Brien's mare was slightly hampered at the last before finishing strongly to hit the crossbar at Chepstow and she continues to go from strength to strength.

It's a different day and a different track but GREYVAL (nap) won last year's final and she has plenty in her favour for a bold defence.

11/1(+8%) | (2) Minella Drama 11/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Haydock latest; effective 2m4f-3m on decent ground; saves best for Aintree but clearly capable off this sort of mark. Very useful at best; good second over 2m7f at Kelso in February; on a good mark now. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (15/2 -25%)Della Casa Lunga |
15/2(-25%) | (4) Della Casa Lunga 15/2, Outclassed and unsuited by heavy ground when 39l third in Listed Mares' Chase at Exeter most recent run; off a short-break; effective 2m4f-3m1f, acts on decent ground; can do better over fences judged on hurdle form. Mainly in fair form this season (below par on heavy latest) and has an each-way chance. |

AMERICAN MIKE showed signs of returning to form when runner-up over hurdles at Wetherby. The handicapper has given him a chance back over fences, being 5lb lower than his third at Newbury in November, and the nine-year-old could prove a cut above his rivals. Minella Drama should be happier back in a smaller field after pulling up at Haydock, while course specialist Statuario cannot be discounted in his search for a seventh victory here.

Last year's runner-up STATUARIO is taken to win his seventh race here by beating American Mike and Minella Drama.

9/2(+36%) | (7) Freddy Robinson 9/2, Step back in right direction beaten 2l off this mark here last time; effective 10-12f on Flat; chance if building on latest. Beaten only 2l over C&D last week, taking Beverley record to 1423234; solid chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/2 +31%)Kitsune Power |
9/2(+31%) | (6) Kitsune Power 9/2, Ran to form on return beaten 3l off this mark at Catterick last time; top course trainer; effective 12f, stays 14f, acts on any; inconsistent but chance on latest. Ran encouragingly on seasonal debut; defied a much higher mark at Beverley in 2022. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (14/1 -40%)Dr Rio |
14/1(-40%) | (5) Dr Rio 14/1, Best work late down 3f in trip on return beaten 7l in a handicap at Catterick last time; effective 7-12f, suited by fast ground; goes well at Beverley and big step back up in trip a help. Six course wins, the most recent last August in last 1m4f attempt; could go well. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/2 -50%)Iwantmytimewithyou |
9/2(-50%) | (4) Iwantmytimewithyou 9/2, Back to form dropped in trip beaten a length off a 1lb lower mark at Kempton last time; effective 12-14f, acts on good, likes fast ground; back to form and chance here. Completed a turf double last July; ran creditably on AW reappearance; respected. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (8/1 -45%)Valley Of Flowers |
8/1(-45%) | (1) Valley Of Flowers 8/1, Ran to form beaten 3 1/4l off this mark at Ayr last time; top course jockey; effective 12-16f, acts on any; consistent sort. Frame possibilities, provided her consistent run of form continues on reappearance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (15/2 -150%)Roland Garros |
15/2(-150%) | (3) Roland Garros 15/2, Run of race, ran to best back on the Flat landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Catterick last time; effective around 12f; chance again after a small rise. Back up in grade but may build on Catterick win and have more to offer in the cheekpieces. |

ROLAND GARROS proved he is happier on the level when returning from hurdles to strike at Catterick. Hayley Burton's five-year-old doesn't have too many miles on the clock for one his age so better can be expected. In the first division of that handicap, Kitsune Power had to settle for third as favourite and might be better over further nowadays. Dr Rio will relish the rise from 7f, while Valley Of Flowers merits respect, but Iwantmytimewithyou may be the primary threat after a pleasing second at Kempton.

Kempton runner-up IWANTMYTIMEWITHYOU is taken to go one better, with progress possible back on turf. Kitsune Power is second pick.

Three good runs over fences before flopping in first-time cheekpieces that are now removed. |

2nd (9) (14/1 +0%)Lone Soldier |
14/1(+0%) | (9) Lone Soldier 14/1, Poor effort when fourth beaten 24l in a handicap chase at Market Rasen latest; effective 2m+, acts on soft and good to soft; inconsistent, maiden for a reason. Respected on the odd bit of form but he's now 0-9 over fences and 0-19 overall. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (8/1 +11%)Blackijo Dagrostis |
8/1(+11%) | (6) Blackijo Dagrostis 8/1, Ran to form when fourth when beaten 16l but finished fourth in a handicap chase at Hereford latest; effective 2m on a sound surface; in moderate form. Good penultimate effort but Hereford was disappointing when behind Ballywood. |

5/1(-67%) | (2) Forcetoreckonwith 5/1, Ran to best when landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 7lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; effective 2m to 2 1/2m, acts on soft and good to soft; back in form. Beat a subsequent Haydock winner last time and the 7lb rise looks manageable. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (10/1 +29%)Golden Millie |
10/1(+29%) | (5) Golden Millie 10/1, Ran to hurdle form when beaten 9l in a handicap chase at Ffos Las last time; effective 2m, acts on soft and good to soft; looks similar level over hurdles and fences. Made an okay chase debut; needs more and Lunar Ocean was ahead of her last time. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (7/4 +71%)Lunar Ocean |
7/4(+71%) | (8) Lunar Ocean 7/4, Close to form when fourth beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap chase at Ffos Las latest; effective 2m and a bit, acts on soft and good; consistent but occasionally frustrating chaser, battling qualities a worry. Two pleasing runs since the visor went on and this 17-race maiden has each-way claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (40/1 -82%)Ironica De Thaix |
40/1(-82%) | (1) Ironica De Thaix 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Stratford latest; cheekpieces first time; point winner but only decent effort under rules on heavy; plenty to prove. Pulled up on stable/handicap debut; downgraded here with cheekpieces added. |

Kally Des Bruyeres made every yard of the running to make it two wins from three starts since undergoing a wind operation and he holds an obvious chance. However, FORCETORECKONWITH struck by just over two lengths in a warmer contest at Newcastle on her latest outing and if in similar form, she will prove very hard to beat. Ballywood remains on a workable mark and is another to keep an eye on.

After from a break, back on better ground and with headgear removed, ZOEMAN can be given another chance.

Won maiden hurdle last time; stiffer task here but looks stable's first choice; chance. |

25/1(+24%) | (8) Magnolia 25/1, Did plenty early, below form when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh most recent; best form at 2m, acts on soft and good; bounce back needed, looks too high in weights. Useful on the Flat; won handicap hurdle latest; drier going suits; chance despite 9lb rise. |

5th (9) (25/1 -25%)Pure Gold |
25/1(-25%) | (9) Pure Gold 25/1, Poorly placed in race dominated from front on ground softer than ideal when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham latest; in good form prior; suited by 2m on sound surface; needs more. Three wins this term, including over C&D; back after a break; may be better for the run. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (14/1 +13%)Just Dottie |
14/1(+13%) | (11) Just Dottie 14/1, Ran to form beaten 3 1/4l off a 48lb lower mark at Ayr last time; effective 2m on good; goes well at Perth, handicapper may have caught up. Easy winner after a break at this fixture in 2025; also won over C&D in May; interesting. |

|PU| (6) (7/2 +50%)The Hatchet |
7/2(+50%) | (6) The Hatchet 7/2, Ran to form but couldn't convert short odds 6l third in a handicap hurdle at Newcastle most recent run; tongue-tie first time; effective around 2m on soft and good to soft; needs more for the win. C&D novice win in September; some fair form since (disappointing latest); each-way chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (10/1 +0%)A Different Kind |

12/1(+40%) | (10) Someone's Wish 12/1, Unsuited by testing ground when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Navan last time; effective 2m on good; mark probably about right. AW Flat/hurdle/chase winner; not at best recently; needs to return to form but a possible. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (16/1 -33%)Adonedeal |
16/1(-33%) | (2) Adonedeal 16/1, Yard won this last year; well below form on handicap debut dropping in trip down the field in a handicap hurdle at Stratford most recent; effective 2m, acts on soft and good to soft; surely capable of better off this mark. Irish point winner (good to firm); won first two races over hurdles but below par latest. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (40/1 -60%)How About No |
40/1(-60%) | (5) How About No 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh latest; cheekpieces first time; off a short-break; effective 2m; bounce back needed. Novice hurdle winner in 2025; then off 305 days; not fared as well since; headgear tried. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (50/1 -257%)Winds Of Winter |
50/1(-257%) | (7) Winds Of Winter 50/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Hexham latest; effective around 2m on a sound surface; handicapper looks to have caught up after productive spell. Showed improved form after Cartmel selling win last May; off since October; could go well. |

FOURONEOHFEVER looked to be a fair way ahead of the handicapper when getting off the mark in this sphere at Ludlow. Ben Pauling's gelding still has improvement to come, especially in the jumping department, so a 9lb rise that is mostly negated by his rider's claim, shouldn't be enough to stop him. Mister Ursus won comfortably at Fakenham and is likely to be a threat on his first run in a handicap. The Hatchet was turned over at Newcastle, but a tongue-tie may see him in a better light.

A tricky race can go to the progressive FOURONEOHFEVER, who was useful on the Flat and got off the mark over hurdles at Ludlow last time

7/2(+30%) | (3) Tees George 7/2, Ran to form, travelled well back up in trip beaten 3l off this mark at Doncaster last time; suited by 8f, acts on any; inconsistent but capable. Gained sole turf success over C&D; made the frame in both starts this year; solid chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (8/1 +60%)Copper And Five |
8/1(+60%) | (8) Copper And Five 8/1, Below form on return, needed run down the field in a handicap at Thirsk most recent; top course jockey; effective 8f, acts on soft and good to firm; should come on for latest. Interesting off a handy mark back over this C&D with Thirsk reappearance under his belt. |

3rd (6) (6/1 -80%)Maple |
6/1(-80%) | (6) Maple 6/1, Came home well off a patient ride when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 46lb higher mark at Sedgefield last time; effective at 10f on AW on Flat, 2m on good over hurdles; can again go well back on the Flat. Solid record this year comprises two good AW efforts and a hurdles win; possibilities. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (18/1 -140%)Man Is King |
18/1(-140%) | (9) Man Is King 18/1, Ran to form down in trip beaten 4l off a 1lb higher mark at Bath last time; effective 8-12f, acts on yielding, good and AW; chance in this. Placed at Bath returned to turf last time; recorded sole win in AW classified race. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 +45%)Woodleigh |
12/1(+45%) | (7) Woodleigh 12/1, Below form down the field in a handicap at Doncaster most recent; effective 8-10f, acts on soft, good and AW; must bounce back after couple of below par efforts. Has reverted to inconsistent ways since last September; others preferred. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (6/4 +14%)No Knee Never |
6/4(+14%) | (1) No Knee Never 6/4, Best form since 2024, well on top late landing a handicap by 4l off a 5lb lower mark at Lingfield last time; effective 6-8f, acts on heavy, yielding and AW; in fine form but penalty asks more. Scored readily on AW on Monday; 5lb penalty is offset by Mason Paetel's claim; respected. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (12/1 -33%)Drumcondra |
12/1(-33%) | (5) Drumcondra 12/1, Needed run when fourth beaten 6l in a handicap at Southwell latest; wide draw; effective 8f, acts on sound surface; can do better than on return. Ten-race maiden who has frame possibilities on several pieces of form. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (28/1 +15%)Habari |
28/1(+15%) | (2) Habari 28/1, Below form, too slow away when well beaten in a handicap at Ayr latest; returning from long layoff; usually held up; effective 8f on AW; might need this. Seven-race maiden whose form has dipped sharply for current yard. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (14/1 -56%)Moonlight Bomb |
14/1(-56%) | (4) Moonlight Bomb 14/1, Shaped as though needed first run in three months beaten 4l in a handicap at Yarmouth last time; wide draw; effective from 7-10f, acts on a sound surface; only just above last win mark. Only 1lb higher than when scoring on AW in December; fighting chance if back to form. |

This is already NO KNEE NEVER's 12th outing of the year and he isn't being allowed to rest on his laurels after a comprehensive victory at Lingfield on Monday. Such was the authority he displayed, a 5lb penalty is unlikely to bother him too much. Maple was second in a couple of Newcastle handicaps before successfully reverting to hurdles at Sedgefield, and he could be well treated. Tees George's two runs this campaign have been promising and he goes well here.

A first turf success for No Knee Never (second pick) looks very plausible but TEES GEORGE is a solid alternative.

2nd (8) (7/2 +61%)Orange Diamond |
7/2(+61%) | (8) Orange Diamond 7/2, May have found ground too soft when 26l third in a handicap chase at Huntingdon most recent run; off a short-break; effective 2m3f-3m on a sound surface; might have more to offer over fences when getting conditions. Won 3 hurdles in 2025; winning return to fences in December; weights chance back hurdling. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (1/1 +75%)Killycarn |
1/1(+75%) | (1) Killycarn 1/1, Ran to form up in trip just out-battled late when beaten 3l off a 2lb lower mark at Musselburgh last time; effective 2m1f-2m4f, acts on soft, good to soft; probably bit more to come in handicaps. Winning handicap debut in January and good 2nd to improver latest (2m4f); aiming lower now. |

4th (5) (6/1 -33%)Snapius |
6/1(-33%) | (5) Snapius 6/1, Did it cosily and improved back up in trip but didn't beat much landing a handicap by 3l off a 6lb lower mark at Huntingdon last time; effective 2m-2m3f, acts on any; needs to build on recent revival. Best run for a while when beating 2 other finishers at Huntingdon (2m3f); this needs more. |

5th (10) (20/1 +0%)Mexican Stan |
20/1(+0%) | (10) Mexican Stan 20/1, Unsuited by rain-softened ground when fourth beaten 26l in a handicap hurdle at Sedgefield latest; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on good; fair mark on novice form but needs to find more. 33/1(-65%) | (2) Son Of Hypnos 33/1, Ran to form when 8l third in a handicap hurdle at Exeter most recent run; effective 2m, acts on yielding and good; much better latest and could be more to come. Won hurdles/chase in Ireland, latest in July 2024; more weight off back wouldn't go amiss. |

8th (13) (100/1 -100%)Major Major |
100/1(-100%) | (13) Major Major 100/1, Another poor handicap run when last in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton most recent; multiple flat winner yet to fire over hurdles. Three Flat wins but no joy over hurdles so far, including in two handicaps; best watched. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (22/1 -38%)Ballynorth |
22/1(-38%) | (7) Ballynorth 22/1, Pulled up in British EBF 'National Hunt' Mares' Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2) at Newbury latest; hood first time; effective 2m-2m5f; well fancied on rules debut but yet to deliver. Minor promise earlier but pulled up on handicap debut at Newbury; downgraded now. |

The eye is immediately drawn to INION TIOGAIR, who is seeking the hat-trick after a facile success to complete a Chepstow double. Grace Harris' mare was hit with a 10lb rise for that victory, but competes in the same grade and is hard to ignore. Killycarn only found one too good in a deeper event at Musselburgh and the booking of Gavin Sheehan is noteworthy. Orange Diamond and Huntingdon victor Snapius are just two others to consider.

Topweight Killycarn is much respected down in grade but INION TIOGAIR may be able to justify a 10lb rise for her latest win.

50/1(-213%) | (1) Tigress Lilly 50/1, Again ran to a moderate level down the field in a maiden hurdle at Musselburgh most recent; tongue-tie first time; returning from a break; effective 2m, acts on good; can do better when ridden more positively now handicapping. Not obviously well treated off this opening mark but things may click at some point. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (66/1 -230%)Breaking Ground |
66/1(-230%) | (9) Breaking Ground 66/1, Yard won this last year; improved although likely flattered when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Musselburgh last time; effective at 3m in points; might do better now handicapping. 18/1(+28%) | (4) Game Beaaa 18/1, Never really involved down the field in a handicap hurdle here most recent; effective around 2m; handicapper may have caught up. Off since last October but she won after a similar absence last June; not ruled out. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (80/1 -142%)Sao Carlos |
80/1(-142%) | (6) Sao Carlos 80/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Newcastle latest; usually held up; form has tailed off and hard to make a case for back hurdling. He's struggled this season; hopes are pinned on the wind op prompting a dramatic revival. |

Bunker Bay has been thereabouts in this grade the last twice, most recently taking the silver medal home at Market Rasen, and is one to watch. Musselburgh scorer Beat The Retreat isn't the most reliable and it might be best to side with SHADOWFAX OF ROHAN. Patrick Neville's inmate justified favouritism to make it two from three for the yard over fences at Southwell and can transfer that form to hurdles to go in again.

This isn't as competitive as the field size suggests and in-form chaser SHADOWFAX OF ROHAN (nap) can make a winning return to hurdles.

13/2(+13%) | (4) Sunny Orange 13/2, Lacked pace down in trip beaten 4l in a handicap at Thirsk last time; top course trainer; effective 7/8f, acts on any, likes Beverley; mark reasonable if helped by step back up in trip. Three course wins, albeit in the summer months; sixth of 14 at Thirsk on reappearance. |

Still a maiden but has possibilities on the pick of his form; debut for another new yard. |

9/1(+25%) | (3) Hostelry 9/1, Bit below form beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; usually held up; suited by a stiff 8f, acts on any; form has levelled out. Form over C&D last year comprised a second-place finish in this race and a success. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (22/1 -57%)Dinah Myte |
22/1(-57%) | (8) Dinah Myte 22/1, Didn't stay down the field in a handicap at Wolverhampton most recent; effective 8f, acts on heavy and good to soft; needs more than of late. Best form on ground softer than good; usual hood removed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (10/1 +29%)Mini Mac |
10/1(+29%) | (6) Mini Mac 10/1, Again below form beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Yarmouth last time; suited by 8f, acts on any, perhaps best on sound surface; hard to make a case for on recent evidence. Far from solid on 2026 form for new yard; best watched. |

C&D scorer HASHTAGNOTIONS was far from disgraced when sporting a first-time hood to finish fifth at Doncaster last month and was kindly dropped 1lb for that performance. With Oisin Orr back in the plate, he looks the one to beat. Bizarre Law showed more when hitting the frame at Nottingham on his most recent start and has to be considered, while Sunny Orange is another to keep an eye on.

Off an attractive mark returned to this C&D, COOLREE looks particularly interesting. Hashtagnotions is second choice.

4/7(+14%) | (3) Yazin 4/7, Quickened away takingly and improved when winning a novice at Newmarket by 2 1/2l in October backing up Redcar win; trainer in form; effective at 7f, should get at least 10f, acts on good and good to soft, hits ground quite hard; very smart prospect. Made it 2-3 when winning at Newmarket (form franked); the one to beat on his return. |

6/4(+0%) | (1) Golden View 6/4, Came miles clear with second on very taking debut when 1 1/4l winner in a novice at Kempton; effective 7f, probably stay 10f, acts on AW; big colt, very smart prospect. Pulled well clear with a subsequent winner on his debut at Kempton (7f); has strong claims. |

25/1(-127%) | (2) Intense Vision 25/1, Winner of both starts in France latter a 2yo conditions race at Bordeaux Le Bouscat by 1 1/4l; effective 1m, both starts on soft; useful prospect and stable doing well but this is a big ask. 2-2 in France, winning over 6.5f and 1m on soft ground; makes his stable/British debut. |

A fascinating contest, with two really smart prospects locking horns. Yazin achieved an official rating of 96 after a juvenile campaign that culminated in a Redcar/Newmarket double. He is in the Dante, while GOLDEN VIEW holds no fancy entries yet, but it may only be a matter of time before we see the Godolphin colt in Pattern company because he proved too good for a rival now rated 101 when landing the odds on his Kempton introduction. Intense Vision in unfortunate to come up against such quality opponents on debut.

Golden View looked a nice prospect when winning at Kempton on his debut but YAZIN looks the one to beat on his return.

The tongue-tie was new when holding on gamely at Wincanton last time; just 4lb higher.. |

50/1(+0%) | (8) Bahtiyar 50/1, Outpaced and ran to form, appreciating step up in trip, when 7 1/4l third in a handicap chase here most recent run; wants further and still a maiden after many seasons. Off since November, he's 0-32 overall and 9lb out of the weights. |

10/3(+26%) | (2) Two To Tango 10/3, Ran to form when up in trip in first time cheekpieces, idled and nearly threw it away landing a handicap by a neck off a 4lb lower mark at Stratford last time; effective 2m-2m4f, suited by sound surface; consistent but tricky. Consistent 8yo; recent Stratford winner who should have every chance off 4lb higher. |

28/1(-300%) | (7) Caterpillar Girl 28/1, Poor effort when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Ludlow most recent; won over 2m in a bumper but poor so far over hurdles. Course bumper winner but goes chasing/handicapping with much to prove on a few counts. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (9/1 +44%)Sleeping Satellite |
9/1(+44%) | (5) Sleeping Satellite 9/1, Outstayed up the hill comfortably when held in a handicap chase at Kelso last time; cheekpieces first time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on any; handicapper may have him. Latest fifth at Kelso was a good run as he only weakened late on in a higher grade. |

Move With The Beat put a modest fourth at Taunton behind him when regaining the winning thread at Wincanton and he merits respect given his upward trajectory. However, the combination of a return to class 4 company and a 4lb higher mark does demand more and Stratford scorer TWO TO TANGO edges the vote. Emma Lavelle's charge has performed with credit on all four outings over the larger obstacles and another bold bid is forecast. Claim Du Brizais and Moonshine Man are others to consider.

The suggestion is SLEEPING SATELLITE who ran well in a higher grade last time and he's in first-time cheekpieces.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (300/1 -100%)Atallah |
300/1(-100%) | (6) Atallah 300/1, Below debut level well beaten in an auction race here latest; bred to be a miler; likely to do better once handicapping at a lowly level. Hasn't shown much to get excited in two starts; unlikely to figure. |

REAL ENCOUNTER ran a big race on her return to action here and can make the breakthrough. The Lucky Vega filly lost out by a neck to Allsortz after racing keenly and dropping back to the minimum trip now should suit. She can confirm form with Aughlish, who was a length and a quarter behind her. A bigger danger may be the 86-rated Namiid. Johnny Murtagh's charge was a touch frustrating last season, when placed four times from eight starts, but had some really solid form as well. He makes his all-weather debut and lacks a recent run. That might give the selection the edge.

It's worth siding with the Jessica Harrington-trained REAL ENCOUNTER, particularly as she has race-fitness on her side

4/1(+64%) | (11) Jirko 4/1, Ran to form tried in cheekpieces when 16l third in a handicap chase at Ayr most recent run; effective 2m4f-3m; generally consistent. 0-11; placed all 5 starts chasing (last of three in cheekpieces latest); each-way chance. |

|PU| (7) (11/2 +45%)Uptown Harry |
11/2(+45%) | (7) Uptown Harry 11/2, Ran to form when fourth beaten 14l in a handicap chase at Carlisle latest; effective 3m, acts with cut, galloping tracks suit; will remain well treated on old form but unreliable. Newcastle win in January; in the frame since, latest from 9lb out the h'cap; could go well. |

Uptown Harry could only manage fourth in a series final at Carlisle, but this represents a drop in grade and he might get closer. However, LOULOU MADRIK produced a better effort when occupying the runner-up berth at the same venue earlier in the month and goes off an unchanged mark. He now sports a tongue-tie/cheekpieces combination for the first time, which may eke out the improvement required. Nights In Venice completes the shortlist.

The veteran C&D winner UPTOWN HARRY, who has been in good form this term, is taken to beat Loulou Madrik and Sir Carnegie.

4/1(-60%) | (11) Smoker Bellamy 4/1, Improved a little up in trip beaten 3 1/2l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time; effective 8-10f; more to come at lowly level. Ran well in AW contest on seasonal debut; possibilities. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (33/1 -106%)Duchess T |
33/1(-106%) | (4) Duchess T 33/1, Well beaten again when down the field in a maiden at Musselburgh most recent; top course jockey; bred to stay middle-distances; tall and still quite weak, might need more time. Far from solid on 2yo maiden form. |

Barbury Boy didn't show a great deal in his three starts in novice company last year, but he has been gelded and could prove a different proposition up in trip on his handicap bow. Similar comments apply to Alice De Clare, but SMOKER BELLAMY is the solid option. The son of Zelzal finished three lengths clear of the third when filling the runner-up spot at Wolverhampton and could go one better.

The Verdict comprises particularly interesting contenders VON DUTCH (narrowly preferred) and Alice De Clare.

Beaten a neck over C&D on debut and this drop back to 5f should suit on h'cap debut. |

14/1(-100%) | (5) Sands Of Seve 14/1, Scored by 3l off a 10lb lower mark at Wolverhampton penultimate start; no chance after terrible start and made too much use of last time; suited by 5f, acts on AW, goes well in front; could bounce back. Got off the mark in a first-time visor at Wolverhampton last month; disappointing latest. |

5th (3) (33/1 -175%)Beach Partee |
33/1(-175%) | (3) Beach Partee 33/1, Needed the run down the field in a handicap at Bath most recent outing effective 5/6f, acts on soft, good to soft and AW; entitled to come on from reappearance run. Runner-up at Lingfield in January but failed to beat a rival on his stable debut. |

Life After Love excels at this venue and recorded her second C&D triumph with a gutsy display last month. She had a subsequent winner back in third but faces an interesting handicap debutant in BLUE DEVERON, who has yet to finish outside the first three and a mark of 67 could be lenient. Believeinmenow made a decent enough reappearance at Bath, with Beach Partee well in arrears, and should step forward. Sands of Seve was beaten seven lengths into third by Life After Love here in February and is no better off.

The drop back to 5f should suit BLUE DEVERON on his handicap debut and he's preferred ahead of dual C&D winner Life After Love.

40/1(-21%) | (15) Olly's Icon 40/1, Sixties Icon gelding; half-brother to Mulinas, fair at 21f; opposition to see off but not without a chance. Fourth foal; dam unraced half-sister to two winners; other newcomers appeal more on paper. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (5/2 +84%)Muscadet |
5/2(+84%) | (8) Muscadet 5/2, Passing Glance gelding; half-brother to The Wounded Knee, very useful at 20f; trainer in form and, despite relations suggesting he wants longer, one to note on debut. Yard also runs Wincanton winner Nevada Samba; interesting to note market strength on debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (13) (33/1 +34%)Rue De Lota |
33/1(+34%) | (13) Rue De Lota 33/1, Moderate effort when well beaten in a mares bumper at Ascot only start; off a long absence; little sign of ability on debut but entitled to improve. Down the field at Ascot in February 2025 on sole start; a watching brief may be best. |

6th (3) (40/1 -21%)Colin's Legacy |
40/1(-21%) | (3) Colin's Legacy 40/1, Made no show when well beaten and finished last in a bumper at Southwell only start on soft ground; all to prove. 14-1, failed to settle and tailed off on debut at Southwell last November; off since. |

10/1(+80%) | (5) Jojo De Montreuil 10/1, 11,000 euros Choeur Du Nord gelding, untested but by a good French stallion whose progeny have won at Graded level. 11,000euros yearling; dam French 2m1f/2m2f hurdle winner; others make greater appeal. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (250/1 -25%)Porth Mear |
250/1(-25%) | (12) Porth Mear 250/1, Needed the experience but showed nothing when well beaten in a bumper at Exeter only start; all to prove. Tailed off at 200-1 on last month's debut at Exeter (good to soft). |

Nevada Samba was value for further when making a winning debut at Wincanton and he looks to have a bright future. That said, a 7lb penalty could leave him vulnerable, with LION ROSE SIVOLA shading the vote. A winner of his sole point-to-point, the five-year-old has posted two creditable runner-up efforts in bumpers and compensation could be imminent. For A Moment should appreciate a return to a sounder surface, while market support for newcomer Lightsoutandaway would be interesting.

The mare FOR A MOMENT returns from a break with her trainer Fergal O'Brien firmly among the winners and she earns the vote.

2nd (6) (33/1 +0%)Hooves Your Daddy |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Hooves Your Daddy 33/1, Never dangerous beaten 8 1/2l in a nursery at Down Royal last time; effective at 6f on good; bit to find. Best effort came in Naas maiden but way out of form last twice in h'caps; off 206 days. |

11/1(+21%) | (9) Lady Landhort 11/1, Below form when eighth beaten 4 1/2l off 53 last time, same mark here; effective 6f, acts on AW; form of win had knocks, will need to progress again. Scored here over 6f last month; ran ok off 4lb higher lto; drops in trip and a squeak. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (14/1 +36%)Love Bomb |
14/1(+36%) | (4) Love Bomb 14/1, Didn't get home upped in trip beaten 6l in a handicap here last time; wide draw; effective 5f, acts on yielding and good; form of nursery win franked, not at best since. Did too much in front lto over 6f, but only beaten 6l; could run well back in trip. |

5th (7) (7/1 +30%)Luminessa |
7/1(+30%) | (7) Luminessa 7/1, Drop in trip suited beaten 3 1/4l in a maiden here last time; tongue-tie first time; off a short-break; suited by 6f, acts on AW; latest run probably reflects ability. Travelled nicely before flattening out over 6f 55 days ago; nice mark on h'cap debut. |

6th (3) (11/4 +54%)Plushy |
11/4(+54%) | (3) Plushy 11/4, Ran to form beaten 2l off this mark here last time; off a short-break; effective at 5/6f, acts on sound surface; competitively handicapped still. Enjoying positive tactics; 13lb better off with Stone Bear than for 1.75l second in Jan. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (4/1 -33%)Baby Basma |
4/1(-33%) | (2) Baby Basma 4/1, Keen and didn't see it out up in trip to 6f when fourth beaten 10l in a 3yo race here latest; top course jockey; effective 5f and acted on good as a 2yo; should come on from reappearance run. Cork maiden winner over 5f; returned from long absence with ok run lto; mark looks fair. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (9/4 +80%)Subiaco |
9/4(+80%) | (5) Subiaco 9/4, Found little, well below form down the field in a handicap at Naas most recent; in good form prior; effective 5f, acts on good and AW; competitive mark but needs to bounce back. C&D winner who backed that up off 7lb higher when fourth in Feb; ground too soft lto. |

PLUSHY has been knocking on the door and may be able to gain a deserved success. The Ardad filly was third to experienced performers Inishmot Price and Mehman last time and chased home Stone Bear previously. She is 13lb better off with that rival, who won again here at the start of the month. Plushy may benefit from dropping to 5f. Baby Basma faced a stiff task on her return here last month and could play a bigger role now in handicap company. Her initial mark of 65 doesn't look harsh.

Having travelled powerfully before flattening out late on, LUMINESSA offers some value on handicap debut off a fair mark

Dual C&D winner who was unfortunate not to go closer at Pontefract last time; good claims. |

2nd (2) (5/1 -100%)John Galt |
5/1(-100%) | (2) John Galt 5/1, Probably lost a length when impeded and best effort in cheekpieces and tongue-tie when 3l third in a novice here most recent run; trainer in form; stays 12f, acts on AW; quirky and aids may not have same effect second time but mark looks workable. Hung left when third in a novice here over 1m4f last time; looks worth a go over this trip. |

3rd (1) (15/8 +58%)Vaguely Royal |
15/8(+58%) | (1) Vaguely Royal 15/8, Below form down the field in a handicap at Lingfield most recent start; effective 12-16f, acts on good, fast ground and AW; not one to rely on. Well held at Lingfield last time and is without a win on the Flat since the end of 2023. |

4th (4) (20/1 -43%)The Truant |
20/1(-43%) | (4) The Truant 20/1, Little bit below best form beaten 7l in a handicap at Kempton last time; effective 12-16f, acts on yielding, good and AW; generally consistent but bit more needed. Five-time winner in Ireland; gives impression he may come on from his return at Kempton. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (10/3 +0%)Captain Brett |
10/3(+0%) | (5) Captain Brett 10/3, Very disappointing favourite for no obvious reason in a handicap at Newmarket (July) latest start in August; effective 12-16f, fast ground suits; normally consistent but off a long break following a below par run. Won over 1m6f at Yarmouth last year; disappointing when last seen but may bounce back. |

Captain Brett was making good progress until a costly and heavy Newmarket defeat last summer. He is expected to have strengthened further, but SWINGING LONDON might be the safer option. Twice a winner over C&D, John Mackie's veteran has shown he retains plenty of enthusiasm with fourth placings on his last couple of starts. John Galt makes only his second appearance in handicap company and could do better for the step up in trip. Jamie Spencer is an interesting booking for Vaguely Royal.

Swinging London was possibly an unfortunate loser at Pontefract last time but a chance is taken on THE TRUANT

8/1(+33%) | (4) Elora Prince 8/1, Below form tried in blinkers back on soft turf well beaten in a handicap at Bellewstown latest; effective 7/8f; others stronger. Poor form on turf overall but good fourth over C&D last month gives him a squeak. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (9/2 +18%)Caoilte |
9/2(+18%) | (1) Caoilte 9/2, Best work late down in trip on handicap debut beaten 5l here last time; trainer in form; effective 7/8f, acts on AW; chance if building on latest back up in trip. Ran okay on h'cap debut, sticking on over 7f; step up in trip will suit; ew claims. |

PUSH HARDER had a nice run here on her final outing as a juvenile and there could be a bit more to come. The Cotai Glory filly was third to John La Bear in December having also shaped with promise on her handicap debut here the previous month. She has been eased a couple of pounds since last seen and could be on a nice mark. Caoilte kept on nicely in the closing stages when fifth on his handicap debut here and can improve. He may be able to turn the tables on the more experienced Queen Leila, who was a couple of lengths in front of him.

A tough race to evaluate but IRYNA'S STAR could be well treated back at this venue after not enjoying soft ground the last twice

3rd (2) (10/1 -67%)New York Minute |
10/1(-67%) | (2) New York Minute 10/1, Bit below form up in class when well beaten in a handicap at Newcastle latest; in good form prior; effective 12-17f, acts on any; strong stayer, consistent in the main but further would suit better. Three-time winner on the AW (1m6f-2m); below his best when last seen; drops back in trip. |

9/4(+36%) | (3) Desert Shadow 9/4, Poor run off a break down the field in a handicap at Meydan most recent outing; in good form last term; suited by 10f and a sound surface; could bounce back but recent travels and latest run a worry. First past the post at Beverley last year; failed to beat a rival at Meydan; back in trip. |

6th (4) (18/1 -350%)Lady Ridgewood |
18/1(-350%) | (4) Lady Ridgewood 18/1, Came clear pushed out and back to form returned to maiden company when winning at Chelmsford by 3 1/2l when last seen in August; suited by 10f, acts on good to soft and a sound surface; very competitive opening mark but may need the run. Has switched yards since winning at Chelmsford in August; should have more to offer. |

Lady Ridgewood signed off her three-year-old campaign by shedding her maiden tag at Chelmsford last August and is of interest on her first appearance for Ian Williams. Course winner New York Minute is looking to bounce back after his disappointing effort at Newcastle and he may well do so, but MARNIER makes the most appeal. The Gosdens' gelding failed to live up to market expectations when well beaten at Kempton, but is worth another chance.

Desert Shadow may be able to bounce back from a lesser effort in Dubai but ELSASS (nap) is selected to make a winning reappearance.

14/1(-180%) | (5) Sonoma Sunset 14/1, Never dangerous down the field in a handicap here most recent; cheekpieces first time; top course jockey; effective 7/8f; drop in trip might help. Weak form in maidens and handicaps but Colin Keane booked for return and cheekpieces on. |

Four-time C&D winner COMFORT LINE has been running well and may be able to bag another victory here. The nine-year-old ran a big race in Leopardstown recently when making the running and eventually finishing a close third. A similar effort should see him bang there at his favourite venue. Cosmic Force hasn't been far away on his last few visits here and was third off this mark 13 days ago. He looks like an obvious danger. Desert Of The Sea weakened after getting hampered here and may benefit from stepping back up in trip. He's another to consider.

COMFORT LINE (nap) clearly thrives on his racing and will be difficult to beat with a reproduction of his Leopardstown run 11 days ago

6th (5) (66/1 -633%)Action Reaction |
66/1(-633%) | (5) Action Reaction 66/1, Poor effort at inadequate trip when well beaten in a maiden at Wolverhampton latest; may need middle-distances; small, workmanlike sort, looks limited and mile not far enough. Struggled in three maiden events; much better needed on handicap debut; watch the betting. |

It's hard to get away from RASPOUTINE, who is a typical Sir Mark Prescott improver. The son of Time Test put his underwhelming efforts in maiden/novice company well behind him when comfortably getting off the mark on his handicap bow at Lingfield and is 6lb well-in under his penalty. Lexington Express benefited from setting a steady pace when hitting the woodwork at Wolverhampton and is now 1lb higher. Of the remainder, Clear Above makes the most appeal.

This looks a good opportunity for RASPOUTINE to follow up his comfortable Lingfield success, with Aneirin's Sword next on the list.

8/1(-220%) | (3) Changing Lanes 8/1, 125,000 euros Galiway colt; half-brother to Popeye Doyle, fair at 8f; dam very smart at 8f; top trainer and this one is very much respected on debut. 125,000euros yearling, half-brother three winners (6.5f-8.5f); makes debut; stable in form. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (4/6 +62%)Druids Glen |
4/6(+62%) | (4) Druids Glen 4/6, Confirmed debut promise albeit comfortably held in a maiden at the Curragh last time; cheekpieces first time; brother to multiple Group 1 scorer Lake Victoria; should improve as a 3yo now upped in trip. Brother to Lake Victoria; work in progress first two starts; cheekpieces; big chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (33/1 -136%)Bell Ex Too |
33/1(-136%) | (2) Bell Ex Too 33/1, Some promise on debut when well beaten in a maiden at the Curragh only start; effective at 10f with cut; improvement likely up in trip. Nice pedigree; ran okay on debut in strong maiden at the Curragh; not discounted. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (12/1 -200%)Mendez |
12/1(-200%) | (5) Mendez 12/1, Promising debut, best work late 3 1/2l fourth in an auction race here first-time out; effective at 8f on AW; more to come now faced with an increased stamina test. Promising debut, fourth here over 1m; will improve; up in trip; should be thereabouts. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (28/1 +44%)Sir Trancealot |
28/1(+44%) | (6) Sir Trancealot 28/1, Never in it from off the pace when well beaten in a maiden at the Curragh only start; trainer in form but might need more time. Last of ten on debut on heavy 26 days ago; needs big step forward. |

DRUIDS GLEN takes a significant step up in trip on his return and is also fitted with cheekpieces for the first time. The Frankel colt, a full-brother to the brilliant Lake Victoria, showed some promise in two maidens last season, particularly when making the running at the Curragh. There should be more to come over this sort of distance. Mendez ran a nice race to finish fourth here at a big price last month. That was his first official racecourse start and he's entitled to improve a bit. Bay Of Stars finished mid-division after missing the kick on his debut here last November. He could be a potential improver on his return to action.

A brother to the top-class Lake Victoria, DRUIDS GLEN has looked raw in two starts but there could be plenty of improvement to come

3/1(+14%) | (5) Ay Up Duck 3/1, Still green and decent effort in the end down in trip when second beaten 2l in a maiden here latest; top course trainer; effective 7f, acts on AW; useful and open to improvement returned to more adequate distance. Runner-up over 7f/5f here on his two starts; steps back up in distance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/10 +32%)Red Spells Danger |
11/10(+32%) | (4) Red Spells Danger 11/10, Ran to form made plenty of use of when second beaten 2l in a maiden at Catterick latest; effective 7f, acts on a sound surface; largely consistent and useful. Showed ability in all four starts last year and ran another fine race on his return. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

9/2(+50%) | (2) Marquessofanglesey 9/2, Fair effort in a maiden at Kempton only start; bred to be suited by a mile; should progress. Showed some ability when sixth at Kempton over 1m on his debut; open to improvement. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (7/1 -100%)Got The Booty |
7/1(-100%) | (7) Got The Booty 7/1, Ran at least to form when second beaten a neck in a novice here latest; effective 6f, acts on AW; has probably reached level. Pulled clear with the winner when beaten a neck here over 6f on her return; steps up to 7f. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (22/1 -38%)Katie's Song |
22/1(-38%) | (8) Katie's Song 22/1, Sergei Prokofiev filly; dam moderate at 12f; likely to need the experience. Second foal; dam 1m4f winner (RPR 54); one to note in the betting on her debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (33/1 -175%)Irish Incentive |
33/1(-175%) | (10) Irish Incentive 33/1, Ran to form beaten 3l in a novice at Kempton last time; cheekpieces first time; probably effective 7/8f, acts on soft and AW; should be competitive. Fifth at Kempton last time but she went close over this C&D last month; cheekpieces on. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (80/1 -264%)Rogue Desire |
80/1(-264%) | (9) Rogue Desire 80/1, Probably made too much use of but did progress beaten 4 1/2l in a maiden at Wolverhampton last time; bred to want 8-10f; open to further to improvement. Showed promise on her debut last year but failed to match that on her comeback run. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (14/1 -65%)Turton |
14/1(-65%) | (6) Turton 14/1, Ribchester colt; half-brother to Whittle Le Woods, very useful at 6f; dam very useful at 10f. Half-brother to seven-time AW winner Whittle Le Woods; watch the betting on his debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (150/1 -20%)Beau Chevalier |
150/1(-20%) | (3) Beau Chevalier 150/1, Ran green and not given a hard time when well beaten in a novice at Ascot only start in July; returning from long layoff; all to do. Always behind on his debut at Ascot last summer; switches to the AW having been off since. |

Got The Booty finished nicely clear of the third when touched off over 6f here earlier in the month and is respected, but a slight concern is that she now competes against the boys for the first time. With that in mind, RED SPELLS DANGER gets the vote. Tim Easterby's charge made a pleasing return to action when second at Catterick and there is improvement likely. Ay Up Duck is another to consider.

Ay Up Duck has finished runner-up here on his previous two starts but RED SPELLS DANGER is selected to get off the mark.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (3/1 +14%)Sir Callisto |
3/1(+14%) | (7) Sir Callisto 3/1, Best work in 14 months landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark here last time; effective 10-12f, acts on AW; in form but new mark asks more. Won off 72 at the start of the month; 5lb higher now but potential for more to come. |

16/1(+20%) | (8) Wandering Rocks 16/1, Ran to form beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; blinkers first time; off a short-break; effective 12f, acts on good and AW; needs more for the win. Good C&D run after layoff in January when 4th to Voice Of Reason; unable to back that up. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/3 +39%)Beauparc |
10/3(+39%) | (4) Beauparc 10/3, Bit keen, ran to form off new mark third beaten 1 1/2l off 82 last time, same mark here; effective 11-16f, acts on most ground; been helped by tongue-tie of late, can go well. Easy C&D win last month and solid third from revised mark since; Colin Keane on now. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/2 +8%)San Andreas |
11/2(+8%) | (3) San Andreas 11/2, Never in it from off the pace down to 10f beaten 7l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; trainer in form; effective up to 12-16f, acts on good and AW; back in form, remains well treated on old efforts, step back up in trip a plus. Always behind in valuable Lingfield race at Easter; solid claims back at favoured venue. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (5/1 -25%)Rock Of Ireland |
5/1(-25%) | (10) Rock Of Ireland 5/1, Ran to form when second beaten 3/4l off 74 last time, same mark here; effective 12-14f on most ground; remains on fair mark, should go well. In great form on turf in testing conditions; not certain to replicate that form on AW. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (50/1 -52%)La Dame Blanche |
50/1(-52%) | (11) La Dame Blanche 50/1, Never dangerous when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse most recent; best around 12f on Flat; bit to prove for now. Three-time Flat winner but hard to fancy on second AW start (tailed off only other try). |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (14/1 -17%)Hollys Graces |
14/1(-17%) | (2) Hollys Graces 14/1, Outclassed, lacked pace down the field in Garnet Stakes (Listed) at Naas most recent; effective 10-12f, acts on any; not fully exposed. Course debut win; return to AW could spark a revival on handicap debut but it will need to. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (66/1 -136%)Liberate |
66/1(-136%) | (9) Liberate 66/1, Again below form, didn't stay up to 12f down the field in a handicap here most recent; suited by 10f, acts on good and AW; has lost form in handicaps, stamina to prove. Bought for 5,000gns in December; never a factor behind Sir Callisto on C&D stable debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (40/1 -122%)Mont St Michel |
40/1(-122%) | (1) Mont St Michel 40/1, Mistakes, failed to build on debut when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Thurles most recent; cheekpieces first time; off a short-break; effective 12-17f, acts on soft and good; needs more back on Flat. Ex-Ballydoyle; won at Killarney over 2m1f last summer; some promise hurdling for this yard. |

SIR CALLISTO was a good winner over C&D at the start of the month and may be able to follow up off a 5lb higher mark. He is closely matched with a couple of today's rivals on his previous outing, when third to Beauparc. The latter has been third here since off her current mark and Colin Keane takes over on his father's charge. Voice Of Reason split the aforementioned pair here in mid-March and is another who has to be on the shortlist. He is a consistent individual. Rock Of Ireland has been in good form on turf and may be better suited by soft ground on the grass.

The vote goes to veteran campaigner SAN ANDREAS, whose Lingfield run can be forgiven & he will be seen to much better effect back here

Three-time course winner; ran well when runner-up here 16 days ago; can again go well. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (20/1 -122%)Fools Rush In |

Down the field in four starts since winning over C&D in February; return to form needed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (18/1 +28%)Searchingtheblues |
18/1(+28%) | (1) Searchingtheblues 18/1, Head high and back-pedalling when squeezed out beaten 9l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; effective 7f, acts on AW; head carriage last time suggested breathing issue may still persist. Mostly struggled since entering handicaps; drops in grade with her mark continuing to fall. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (8/1 +11%)On Key |
8/1(+11%) | (10) On Key 8/1, Back to form up to 7f beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; effective 6/7f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; competitive mark. 0-16 but he ran well when runner-up behind Enpassant over C&D eight days ago; place claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/4 +8%)Mwafaq |
11/4(+8%) | (4) Mwafaq 11/4, Very game effort and probably run best yet returned to turf when landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Thirsk last time; effective 7-8f, suited by sound surface; in excellent form and very likeable. Completed a hat-trick when winning at Thirsk on his return; up 2lb; can remain competitive. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (33/1 -50%)Berning Hot |
33/1(-50%) | (8) Berning Hot 33/1, Below form beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Kempton last time; suited by 7/8f, acts on sound surface; capable off this mark but bounce back required. 1-15; ran well when third at Kempton in January but below her best there last time. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (9/4 -13%)Enpassant |
9/4(-13%) | (2) Enpassant 9/4, Back to form down to 7f landing a handicap by 2l off a 5lb lower mark here last time; trainer in form; suited by this trip, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; up 5lb here but consistent in the main. Gained his third AW win when beating On Key over C&D last time; solid claims under penalty. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (33/1 +0%)Mereside Madness |
33/1(+0%) | (3) Mereside Madness 33/1, Poor effort beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap here last time; suited by 7f and a sound surface; out of form. Won four times for his previous stable but well held in two starts for this yard. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (10/1 -25%)Louie The Legend |
10/1(-25%) | (7) Louie The Legend 10/1, Below form back from hurdles beaten 10l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; suited by 1m, acts on heavy and fast ground; showed little over hurdles and poor return to the Flat, needs to bounce back. Beaten a neck at Nottingham in October but he's struggled since; others are preferred. |

MWAFAQ picked up where he left off in 2025 when landing the hat-trick at Thirsk and he doesn't appear to have reached his ceiling just yet. The four-year-old's improvement can be linked to Ethan Tindall, who is unbeaten on the gelding, and a 2lb rise seems fair now returning to the all-weather. Bomb Squad's recent second over C&D warrants him a place on the shortlist along with Enpassant, who carries a 5lb penalty for his win here last week.

Enpassant is respected following his C&D success but MWAFAQ is taken to complete a four-timer having been raised 2lb for Thirsk.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (13/2 +35%)Doctor Grace |
13/2(+35%) | (7) Doctor Grace 13/2, Didn't stay back up to 12f beaten 7l in a handicap here last time; top course trainer; effective 10-13f, acts on soft, good to firm and AW; inconsistent but capable. Has won here; however, recent efforts have been below-par and was behind Jawhary latest. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

13/8(+46%) | (10) Copper Craft 13/8, Ran to form in new headgear combo beaten 3l off a 2lb higher mark here last time; returning from a break; effective 8f, acts on AW; has more to offer back up in trip. Big eyecatcher over shorter last year and should relish this sort of trip on that evidence. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (13/2 -18%)Electric Beauty |
13/2(-18%) | (1) Electric Beauty 13/2, Scored by 2 1/2l off a 8lb higher mark at the Curragh three starts back; below form when 12th beaten 18l off 77 last time; effective 7-9f, acts on heavy, good and AW; improved efforts on turf in March and reverts to AW off a 19lb lower mark. Took form to new heights on turf; has to be taken seriously from 19lb lower AW mark. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (18/1 -13%)If Dora Could |
18/1(-13%) | (8) If Dora Could 18/1, Below form down the field in a handicap at Navan most recent; tongue-tie first time; effective 7f; inconsistent, may do better if ridden bit more positively at 10f. Midfield in C&D handicap in August; ran no race at Navan in October; tongue-tie for return. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (18/1 +10%)Eastern Wind |
18/1(+10%) | (3) Eastern Wind 18/1, Again below form down the field in a handicap hurdle at Bellewstown most recent; effective 10-12f on sound surface; others stronger. Fifth over C&D last month but finished last over hurdles at Bellewstown five days ago. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (25/1 +24%)Tara Power |
25/1(+24%) | (12) Tara Power 25/1, Best work late when comfortably held in a handicap at Bellewstown last time; effective 10-12f, suited by AW; below last winning mark but form has tailed off. This year's form hasn't offered much but 8lb below last winning mark; can't be discounted. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (40/1 -82%)Fine Print |
40/1(-82%) | (5) Fine Print 40/1, Never in it from off the pace back on Flat well beaten in a handicap here latest; effective 12-16f, acts on yielding, good and AW; bit to prove. Second runner for yard; won twice at Wolverhampton a year ago but hard to gauge. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (20/1 -43%)Ferrari Desert |
20/1(-43%) | (4) Ferrari Desert 20/1, Again below form beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap here last time; effective 7/8f, acts on soft and AW; good mark but needs more now. No worthwhile form yet this year and has never raced beyond the mile; others preferred. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (16/1 +36%)Lady Luck |
16/1(+36%) | (11) Lady Luck 16/1, Ran to form back up in trip beaten 9l in a handicap here last time; off a short-break; stays 12f on a sound surface; needs more. Had an excuse here over 1m4f when last seen as was 12lb wrong; remains hard to fancy. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (18/1 -64%)Barretstown |
18/1(-64%) | (9) Barretstown 18/1, Again below form beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap here last time; enjoys making it; effective 10/11f, acts on AW; unreliable but capable. 3-time C&D winner; best of 2026 runs came over C&D last month when beaten 0.75l into third. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (22/1 -120%)Yup Bro |
22/1(-120%) | (2) Yup Bro 22/1, Ran as though something amiss down the field in a handicap here most recent; cheekpieces first time; returning from a break; effective 10/11f, suited by AW; back from a break and could have a say. Mildly encouraging C&D run before awful run over 1m4f when favourite; cheekpieces now. |

COPPER CRAFT ran on well on his final two outings last year, over a mile here, and there could be more to come from him now up in trip. The Raven's Pass gelding was a solid fourth when last seen in mid-December and has been eased a couple of pounds. He remains unexposed compared to a lot of these. Jawhary ran well when chasing home Celtic Druid here last time. He is probably better suited by slightly further, but has to be a big player in a moderate enough contest. Doctor Grace is a C&D winner and she's another for the shortlist.

It's difficult to get away from ELECTRIC BEAUTY, who is much better on turf but can race from a 19lb lower mark back on the AW

3/1(+14%) | (2) Raft Up 3/1, Too free ridden to stay 7f beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap here last time; in good form prior; trainer in form; effective 6f, acts on sound surface; in form, capable off this mark back to suitable trip. Below his best having raced keenly here over 7f last time but should be happier back at 6f. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3/1 +50%)Fircombe Hall |
3/1(+50%) | (6) Fircombe Hall 3/1, Ran to form second beaten a neck off 54 last time, same mark here; effective at 6f, acts on AW; should go well again. Unfortunate not to finish closer here on his penultimate start and ran well three days ago. |

2/1(-60%) | (1) Moostar 2/1, Ran to form beaten 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Catterick last time; effective at 6/7f, acts on any; in good form, mark a little testing. 1-12 but she's been in good form since the tongue-tie was fitted in December; contender. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (12/1 -33%)Megaphone |
12/1(-33%) | (4) Megaphone 12/1, Back to form beaten 2l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time; effective 5/6f, acts on good to soft and good to firm but suited by AW; mark stiff. Took step back in the right direction when third in just a hood at Wolverhampton last time. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/1 +50%)Blackjack |
11/1(+50%) | (3) Blackjack 11/1, Below form beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap here last time; effective at 6/7f, acts on AW; edging back down to a fair mark but in poor form. Struggled in three starts since finishing fourth over C&D in January; others preferred. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (6/1 -50%)Valsharah |
6/1(-50%) | (5) Valsharah 6/1, Ran to form beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time; top course trainer; effective 6/7f, acts on soft, good to firm and AW; in solid form since tongue-tie fitted. 21-race maiden but his last two efforts have been solid; has each-way claims. |

FIRCOMBE HALL turns out quickly after filling the runner-up spot at Newcastle on Monday and the eight-year-old, who won twice at Wolverhampton in March, can take advantage before the handicapper has his say next week. Moostar returned with a solid effort at Catterick and has to enter calculations along with Raft Up, who should benefit from dropping back in trip.

Megaphone took a step back in the right direction at Wolverhampton but MOOSTAR has been in good form since the tongue-tie went on.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
