1st (2) (7/4 -206%)Court In A Storm |
7/4(-206%) | (2) Court In A Storm 7/4, Had benefited for debut experience when won a bumper at Ludlow over 2m by 9l last time; had next time out winner in behind; step up in trip should suit; threat if fit and ready to go on hurdle debut 2nd in bumper last April and won one by 9l at Ludlow (tongue tied) in October; big shout. |

2nd (3) (4/6 +76%)Don Virginia |
4/6(+76%) | (3) Don Virginia 4/6, Raced freely well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Uttoxeter latest; returning from a break; step up in trip should suit; potential threat Raced freely when bit below form on soft ground in December; should be a leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/1 -54%)Rock On Cowboy |
10/1(-54%) | (5) Rock On Cowboy 10/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Exeter latest where failed to stay; inconsistent; down in trip; bit to find in present form The one to beat judged on best efforts but there have been many poor runs too. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (200/1 +0%)Absolutely Certain |
200/1(+0%) | (1) Absolutely Certain 200/1, Below par well beaten in a maiden hurdle here latest; not proven trip; yet to show anything of note; all to do 250-1 and 300-1 when beaten 70l in his two hurdle races (2m3f/2m4f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (14/1 -40%)Goodbyemick |
14/1(-40%) | (4) Goodbyemick 14/1, Comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m at Stratford last time behind classy rival; tongue-tie first time; longer trip should suit; very interesting at a price 0-13 in Irish points; showed a bit of ability in two novice hurdles; tongue-tie first time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (200/1 -33%)Sweet Serene |
200/1(-33%) | (6) Sweet Serene 200/1, Below par comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Exeter last time; usually held up; not proven trip; yet to match bumper form; difficult to fancy Modest form at best in three bumpers and two maiden hurdles (2m4f/2m). |

The combination of a return to maiden company and this better ground ought to suit Don Virginia, who sets the form standard having placed on his first three starts over timber before going handicapping. He can mount a serious challenge, but the vote goes to COURT IN A STORM. The six-year-old landed a bumper in impressive fashion at Ludlow in October and could prove too strong now sent hurdling under suitable conditions. Rock On Cowboy can chase the pair home.

With Rock On Cowboy looking risky, bumper winner COURT IN A STORM may well win this hurdle debut by denying Don Virginia.

1st (1) (8/13 +26%)Yes Indeed |
8/13(+26%) | (1) Yes Indeed 8/13, Suited by drop in trip when landed handicap by 4l off 112 over 2m1f at Stratford last time; remains thrown in on French form; can follow up Comfortable winner on stable debut last month; 6lb rise may not be enough to stop a repeat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 -100%)Famoso |
4/1(-100%) | (2) Famoso 4/1, Ran to form 6l third in a handicap chase at Ludlow most recent run; steadily progressive; top jockey back on board; good ground suits; threat Back on track last time and this tight venue should suit; should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/4 +39%)Dexter |
11/4(+39%) | (3) Dexter 11/4, Raced freely fourth beaten 13l in a handicap chase at Ludlow latest; should come on for that; good mark on French form; may find ground on the quick side Shaped encouragingly on last month's return from a 556-day break; can do better. |

The face value of YES INDEED's winning return at Stratford gives the eight-year-old an obvious chance of registering back-to-back wins given he seemed to respond well for the retained rider, Sean Bowen. That said, Famoso gets 12lb from Bowen's mount and is capable of making this a good test on these terms. Dexter has something to find with the latter based on their encounter at Ludlow three weeks ago and needs everything to go his way if he is going to spring a surprise.

None of the three can be ruled out but YES INDEED might be the sort to run up a sequence and can win again.

11th (11) (66/1 -32%)Wild Wild Wind |
66/1(-32%) | (11) Wild Wild Wind 66/1, Jet Away filly; dam smart at 8f; yard's horses tend to need bit more time; best watched Jet Away filly, dam won over 1m1f on the Flat, limited appeal on breeding, best watched. |

Fairyhouse runner-up JANES HARBOUR looks to have been found a nice opportunity to go one better. The Joseph O'Brien-trained filly shaped as though ready to open her account when taking minor honours on her two previous starts and, with the benefit of that run in handicap company sure to stand to her back in maiden grade, the daughter of Camelot can register a first career success. Game Phoenix, who is a modest handicapper on the Flat, looks a different proposition over flights. Twice finishing second at Killarney earlier in the season, she should appreciate the return to better ground. Navan fifth Rhythm Of Life is entitled to be all the better for that experience.

This looks a good opportunity for JANES HARBOUR (nap) to get off the mark. Her experience gives her the edge over Rhythm Of Life

2nd (1) (6/4 +25%)Maraaheb |
6/4(+25%) | (1) Maraaheb 6/4, Hampered and slowly away when 3 1/4l fourth in a novice over 9f at Wolverhampton first-time out; top course trainer; up in trip; likely to improve and go well Out of 1m4f Listed winner; 28-1 for recent AW debut and promising effort in 4th. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (8/1 -100%)Lesson Of Life |
8/1(-100%) | (3) Lesson Of Life 8/1, Couple of fair efforts, latter fourth beaten 7 1/2l in a maiden over 9f at Wolverhampton; returning from a short break and up in trip; bit to prove Late headway before flattening over 1m on debut; faded after front-running at 1m1f after. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (100/1 -150%)Rommie The Miracle |
100/1(-150%) | (4) Rommie The Miracle 100/1, Modest effort on debut when well beaten in a maiden at Kempton; should improve, but plenty more needed 20-1, ran green and never showed with a chance on C&D debut (beaten 20l) in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (150/1 -50%)Jack Langley |
150/1(-50%) | (2) Jack Langley 150/1, Better effort second start, but well beaten in a maiden at Kempton latest; should come on a bit more, but hard to recommend Triple-figure prices and never showed in AW maidens at 1m and 1m4f; handicaps soon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (100/1 -203%)Baby Caitlin |
100/1(-203%) | (5) Baby Caitlin 100/1, 15,000gns Churchill filly; half-sister to Que Linda, useful at 7f as 2yo; dam useful at 7f at 2yo; tough task on debut 15,000gns yearling; will do well to topple those with experience. |

The penny dropped too late for HARPSICHORD when fourth behind a stable companion on her Southwell introduction but the performance still offered plenty of encouragement and, as a half-sister to Godolphin's classy stayer Siskany, she is expected to come into her own now tackling this trip and further. Lesson Of Life is also bred to relish a test of stamina, although Maraaheb might be the primary threat following a solid debut effort at Wolverhampton.

The one to appeal most is HARPSICHORD who looks a good candidate for this longer trip after showing promise over 1m on her debut.

1st (2) (5/2 +17%)The Gypsy Davey |
5/2(+17%) | (2) The Gypsy Davey 5/2, Probably needed race fourth beaten 29l in a handicap chase over 2m at Chepstow latest; up in trip; consistent last summer; minor chance Good form chance judged on most chase efforts but he keeps coming up short. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/2 +40%)Gris Majeur |
9/2(+40%) | (3) Gris Majeur 9/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m1f here latest where went far too fast; goes well here; drop down in trip a huge plus; good mark on hurdles form; interesting Dual hurdles winner here; one chase result (a February 2nd) stands out from the other four. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (8/13 +23%)Everyonesgame |
8/13(+23%) | (1) Everyonesgame 8/13, Unseated in a handicap chase over 2m2f at Kempton latest when very well backed; good mark on hurdles form; should relish this longer trip; jumping a worry but go close if it holds up Evens at Kempton (2m2f) nine days ago, perhaps about to get competitive when unseating. |

EVERYONESGAME was beginning to edge into contention when unseating three from home at Kempton last week. Sent off the even-money favourite that day, Emma Lavelle's gelding faces an easier task now dropped in class and, if able to put in a clear round, he could be difficult to beat. The Gypsy Davey has posted a number of creditable efforts in defeat but would need more to land the spoils, so chasing debutant Red Hugh might pose a bigger threat.

Everyonesgame may make amends for last week's unseat but a chance is taken on RED HUGH, who's won a maiden point and maiden hurdle.

13/8(-8%) | (1) Iris Des Issards 13/8, Well backed fourth beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap hurdle at Exeter latest hinting at revival; handicapper has relented further; good ground key; big player Didn't run badly last time and he drops in class into a weak affair; this could be his day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (11/2 -22%)Sevenofus |
11/2(-22%) | (7) Sevenofus 11/2, Appeared not to stay comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Taunton last time where far too keen; down in trip; bit to find Ran well under Elizabeth Gale two starts back; recent form a big plus in this race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (4/1 +33%)She Has Notions |
4/1(+33%) | (5) She Has Notions 4/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Catterick latest where couldn't go the gallop; up in trip; returning from a break; good mark on chase form; could figure Won over fences last July after a break; could make an impact if ready to go again. |

4th (2) (12/1 -140%)Boskill Borden |
12/1(-140%) | (2) Boskill Borden 12/1, Below par well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Stratford latest unsuited by way race developed; good mark on Irish form; interesting at a price Beaten a fair way in two starts for this yard; cheekpieces tried again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (33/1 -32%)The Wire Flyer |
33/1(-32%) | (8) The Wire Flyer 33/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las latest where ground too testing; inconsistent; outside chance off light weight Pulled up in six of his last eight starts and he's 4lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (4/1 +80%)Johannes |
4/1(+80%) | (4) Johannes 4/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Exeter latest where unsuited by heavy; blinkers first time; usually held up; not proven trip; bit to find and stamina concerns Pulled up in four of last five and tailed off in the other; blinkers replace cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (11/1 +56%)Zufal |
11/1(+56%) | (3) Zufal 11/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Taunton most recent; generally out of form; not proven trip; bit to find Has struggled since a good effort here 23 months ago; market check advised. |

Iris Des Issards is a potential improver with cheekpieces tried for just the second time, while She Has Notions, who was sensibly pulled up after a bad mistake at Catterick when last seen, commands respect off 2lb below his last winning mark and can figure if his jumping holds up better. Nevertheless, this really won't take much winning and a speculative vote goes to BOSKILL BORDEN, who is back on a winning rating and he could provide a bit of value in a weak event.

This is unlikely to take much winning and looks a golden opportunity for IRIS DES ISSARDS to land a first success

5/2(+29%) | (11) Cramers Valley 5/2, Well backed beaten 3 1/4l off 79 over 2m1f at Cork last time but ridden bit too aggressively; sound surface suits; each way claims Had a couple of these behind at Cork latest, 5lb rise seems harsh but he has a chance. |

28/1(-40%) | (12) Added Bonus 28/1, Not clear run well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Cork latest; went too fast that day; better over fences; best watched Two-time chase winner, 0-29 over hurdles, held by a few of these on latest run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (14) (18/1 +28%)Notevenatext |
18/1(+28%) | (14) Notevenatext 18/1, Comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Thurles last time; yet to prove up to even this basement mark; more needed 0-5 over hurdles, encouraging h'cap debut, place claims off same mark if building on it. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (5/1 0%)Who's In Midfield |
5/1(0%) | (7) Who's In Midfield 5/1, Probably needed race fourth beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Cork latest; did too much too soon that day; good mark on 2024 spring form here; leading contender 0-6, promise in first two h'caps, closely matched with Phoenix Cowboy, could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (50/1 -25%)Sea The Sunset |
50/1(-25%) | (9) Sea The Sunset 50/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f here most recent; generally out of form; down in trip; needs to prove ability remains after lay off Won off this mark in October 2023, lightly raced since, hasn't shown enough in recent runs. |

Having returned to form when faced with better ground at Cork, CRAMERS VALLEY might be able to build on that effort. Runner-up for just the second time in his career, the Philip Rothwell-trained gelding indicated that his turn may not be that far off. It is also a positive that Tiernan Power Roche partners the six-year-old ahead of the second stable runner, Splendid Choice. At these weights, the son of Mount Nelson should be able to confirm the form of that aforementioned race with the third-placed Phoenix Cowboy, who had been racing over further and appeared suited by dropping in trip. Clonmel winner Tingarran Express also enters calculations, despite a 5lb rise.

WHO'S IN MIDFIELD has 6.5l to find with Cramers Valley but he's open to improvement and he might be able to turn that form around

MELERI ended her 2024 campaign with a couple of seconds at Sandown and Goodwood and although she doesn't have much in the way of all-weather experience, her dam won on Polytrack and Jim Boyle's mare is fancied to make a successful comeback. Darysina Gold has been very consistent since entering the handicap ranks, while Nivelle's Magic is worth a look on her debut for a new stable.

Topweight COUNTESS CANDY is taken to record a first handicap win. Darysina Gold is second choice.

12/1(+25%) | (2) Head Over Hinds 12/1, Made too much use of fourth beaten 30l in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f here latest; not proven trip; bit to find on chase debut Has some ability but failed to make a serious impact in three bumpers or four hurdle races. |

4/1(+20%) | (6) Zmiinyi 4/1, Ran to form fourth beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Warwick latest where went too fast; back in trip; outside chance but will need stiff test to figure Unraced over a trip this short but it's worth a go and he's considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (66/1 -32%)Time To Dazzle |
66/1(-32%) | (1) Time To Dazzle 66/1, Fell in a handicap chase at Ludlow latest; not proven trip; has looked regressive for some time; bit to find Second at Ludlow (2m, good to soft) in December but the rest of his chase form is poor. |

A few of these arrive with something to prove and it might be best to side with PITTSBURG. The nine-year-old recorded a comfortable victory at Market Rasen last month and, if turning up in a similar mood, a 4lb rise will be no barrier to further success. Zmiinyi was by no means disgraced at Warwick a fortnight ago and he could benefit from a drop in trip. My Portia appeals most of the remainder.

A win last time seemingly puts Pittsburg in pole position but a repeat is not assured. The new trip might do the trick for ZMIINYI.

1/1(-25%) | (5) Mighty Fleur 1/1, Ran to form second beaten 2 1/4l in a Mares bumper over 2m at Ffos Las latest; usually held up; up in trip; placed all 3 bumper runs; leading contender on hurdle debut Three promising bumper runs; bred to appreciate this far on hurdle debut; good claims. |

9/2(-100%) | (4) Merry Shuil 9/2, Fourth beaten 8 1/4l in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Carlisle latest; that form franked; up in trip; off a short-break; on the premises Useful jumps pedigree; promising hurdle debut at Carlisle (2m3f); major player. |

5th (2) (100/1 +20%)Gorcombe Blueskye |
100/1(+20%) | (2) Gorcombe Blueskye 100/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Lingfield latest on testing ground; up in trip; off a short-break; difficult to fancy 300-1 and pulled up a long way out on hurdle debut at Lingfield (2m3f, heavy). |

MIGHTY FLEUR has jumps winners in her pedigree and could be well placed by Peter and Michael Bowen as she bids to make a winning start over hurdles. Having finished placed in three bumpers in 2024, the daughter of Scorpion ticks the right boxes and looks ready for this next phase of her development. Merry Shuil hinted at ability when fourth at Carlisle on her debut over timber in February and can play a strong role with another step forward. Jokers 'N' Clowns is readily suggested as the best of the remainder.

Mighty Fleur can go well on her hurdle debut but MERRY SHUIL is taken to improve upon her first attempt in this discipline.

6th (2) (11/8 +8%)The Dancing Tree |
11/8(+8%) | (2) The Dancing Tree 11/8, Ideally suited by trip beaten a head off 108 here last time; off a short-break; bumper winner here; the one to beat if handling the quicker ground Beaten a head on handicap debut over C&D in January; big player if he handles quick ground. |

THE DANCING TREE can prove himself to be a real course specialist by getting off the mark over flights. Runner-up in a novice handicap hurdle here in January, the Gavin Cromwell-trained gelding easily landed his bumper at this track the previous year. A lightly-raced six-year-old, he could be well handicapped off a mark of 112. Mercury Mission had looked to need a trip before dropping down in distance to open his account at Wexford. While this stiffer track should play to his strengths, he will almost certainly need a strong gallop. Thurles maiden winner Nowwhatdoyouthink is also a contender if handling the better ground on this occasion.

Runner-up to Romeo Coolio in a point-to-point, NOWWHATDOYOUTHINK finally came good over hurdles at Thurles last time and can win again

7th (6) (66/1 -230%)Stylish Affair |
66/1(-230%) | (6) Stylish Affair 66/1, Promise on debut, but well beaten in a maiden over 7f at Southwell latest; drop back down in trip a plus; each way claims if not flattered by debut Needs to show improvement on debut for new connections. |

Havana Joy has made a promising beginning to her career, getting on to the podium in all three appearances, and reverting to this trip will suit after she was put in her place by an impressive winner over 7f at Wolverhampton. ANNSAR showed plenty of pace on her debut, though, making the frame over 7f at Kempton, and this seems a nice opportunity for her on her return. Cupola is a danger if judged on her C&D third rather than her subsequent Wolverhampton display.

Twice-raced CUPOLA is worth another chance to confirm her debut promise. Annsar and Havana Joy are the main dangers on form.

6/4(+25%) | (1) Time Interval 6/4, Raced freely beaten 3/4l off 98 here last time; kicked on too soon and caught late that day; Cobden takes over; claims obvious Won maiden last May; his two handicaps last month were also C&D on good, second last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (16/1 -129%)Grenardier |
16/1(-129%) | (4) Grenardier 16/1, Appeared not to stay comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Taunton last time; usually consistent; drop down in trip a plus; others better treated Disappointing second favourite on handicap debut at Taunton; 2m3f might have stretched him. |

TIME INTERVAL went close to gaining a second victory here when making a bold bid from the front. Despite a 4lb rise from the handicapper, this doesn't appear to be a particularly deep contest for the grade and the seven-year-old can prove too strong for the opposition. Across Earth will need to jump better but undoubtedly has the ability to be competitive, while Grenardier completes the shortlist.

The top three are the most persuasive, with TIME INTERVAL (nap) preferred to Across Earth and Captain Attridge.

9/2(+44%) | (4) Townhill 9/2, Probably needed race well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Catterick latest where went too fast; generally out of form; C&D winner off 1lb higher last summer; interesting Quiet since making all over C&D last June but down to a dangerous mark; could bounce back. |

MUSIQUE DE FEE bolted up over an extended 3m1f at Hereford on her penultimate start before defying an 11lb rise at Sedgefield three weeks ago, and Georgina Nicholls' progressive mare is fancied to complete the hat-trick despite a further 7lb hike. Coconut Twist won under Robbie David at Exeter recently and he's unlikely to be far away, while Guy should not be overlooked.

Cases can be made for most of these but the thriving mare MUSIQUE DE FEE (nap) is taken to land the hat-trick.

Ballyragget point-to-point runner-up MASHALLA HABIBI can register a first win under Rules. The form of his only start between the flags has been well boosted, with the victor having made a winning UK debut for Harry Derham before running mid-division in the Aintree bumper. Although yet to reach the frame in four starts over hurdles, Mashalla Habibi has shaped with enough encouragement to suggest he can win a race such as this. Tattersalls Farm point-to-point winner Thetownilovedsowel has to be of interest on his Rules debut. Despite switching stables since that success, the six-year-old merits close attention. Jonny Carrol has yet to see action under any code but, coming from these quarters, he has to be considered.

The standard set by MASHALLA HABIBI isn't an insurmountable one and he's unproven on good ground but he is the one they have to beat

11/1(-83%) | (10) Lilkian 11/1, Landed handicap by 1 1/4l off 47 at Chelmsford last time showing improved form on recent efforts; contender but likely need a bit more off 3lb higher mark in competitive affair Took well to first-time eyeshield at Chelmsford; effectively runs off the same mark. |

11th (7) (14/1 -75%)Tomorrow Day |
14/1(-75%) | (7) Tomorrow Day 14/1, Well backed when scored by 2l off 60 over 6f at Newcastle in January; fourth beaten 3 1/2l off 65 last time; bit below form latest but not far off and pretty consistent; fair chance Consistent sort but nearly all of his AW form is at Newcastle. |

MOUNT MOGAN continues to go from strength to strength and the hat-trick looks very much on the cards for the son of Helmet after a 4lb rise for his most recent success over C&D. A taking winner over further here last month, Mister Mojito is a key player for in-form connections, as well as Lilkian, who had G'daay (second) over a length behind when scoring at Chelmsford.

Lilkian and G'Daay are ahead of the assessor. MISTER MOJITO is a solid alternative, while Thapa Vc is also respected.

10/1(-25%) | (2) Briery Bee 10/1, Below par down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Taunton most recent; off a short-break; step up in trip should suit; may contend It's possible that she's about to show more now that she goes handicapping. |

|PU| (5) (18/1 -227%)Jackie Can |
18/1(-227%) | (5) Jackie Can 18/1, 13l third in a maiden hurdle here most recent run; that improved form; sound surface suits; could figure on handicap debut Third in a C&D maiden (good) latest brings some renewed interest to this handicap debut. |

MY VIRTUE clearly appreciates a sound surface judged on her success at Southwell last May and the fact that came after a break gives plenty of hope that she can strike after nearly a year off. Mistral Blue took a step in the right direction when fourth over C&D last month and the assessor may have been kind to drop her 2lb. Any market support for Briery Bee should be noted on her first taste of handicap action.

The chief question facing MY VIRTUE derives from her 338-day absence but she left last May on a positive note.

13/8(+19%) | (1) Lord Baddesley 13/8, Raced freely well beaten in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Doncaster latest; quirky and inconsistent; this a big drop in grade; trainer in form; down in trip; threat if getting stiff test Good 4th at Newbury (2m4f) in November; this is a welcome lowering of his sights. |

Jaramillo has shown enough to suggest his current mark is well within range over fences, but the vote goes to INVESTMENT MANAGER. Although below-par on his last two starts, Joe Tizzard's gelding seldom runs poorly here with a record of five wins from 11 visits (two over hurdles). If allowed to dictate terms, he could be tough to beat. Lord Baddesley can chase the pair home.

This isn't a strong race for the grade and LORD BADDESLEY can make the most of the drop in grade now back at 2m5f.

8/1(-78%) | (7) My Friend The Wind 8/1, Comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Clonmel last time; touch unlucky here over hurdles prior; longer trip should suit; not out of it Runner-up twice over hurdles at Ballinrobe last summer; good third here in December. |

WEST AWAY should improve following a recent reappearance run and contests a race in which many of his rivals are out of form. He performed consistently well last spring/summer and while beaten 53 lengths at Naas last month, that was a much stronger race and reverting to better ground will help. My Friend The Wind is winless since August 2023 but has shown consistent form, is ground-versatile and should get involved. Grange Walk was beaten 50 lengths at Gowran last month, but finished third in a Listed handicap chase at the Dublin Racing Festival. He is rated 12lb lower over hurdles, although he has won just once in this sphere.

Local trainer Eric McNamara runs two and MY FRIEND THE WIND has the best chance of the pair. The biggest danger could be West Away

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (28/1 -27%)Battle Point |
28/1(-27%) | (8) Battle Point 28/1, Below par fourth beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap here latest; conditions suit; pretty consistent but needs to find bit more Made all in this race two years ago but that's his only win in 34 starts. |

Narrowly denied over C&D by the reopposing Midnightattheoasis last month, with whom she is now 6lb better off, REBEL STAR has since gone close at Chelmsford and this represents an ideal opportunity to get off the mark. Beaten a neck over C&D recently himself by Midnightattheoasis, Recon Mission is expected to be thereabouts, as well as Harb, who was third in that contest.

Maiden REBEL STAR is knocking firmly at the door and may be able to open her account. Recon Mission is second pick.

4/1(+0%) | (1) King Of Brazil 4/1, Below par 13l third in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Leicester most recent run where found trip too sharp; this more suitable; well treated on old efforts; chance but could do with some rain 2-13 over fences, with the wins over about 2m4f in the mud last February and March. |

6th (5) (16/1 -14%)Hey Bud |
16/1(-14%) | (5) Hey Bud 16/1, Probably needed race comfortably held in a handicap chase at Wincanton last time; inconsistent; well treated on old form; interesting at a price 12yo whose sole win (27 races) came over hurdles in 2019. |

Having won over C&D from 3lb lower back in October, MISTYMAL has plenty going for him in this company and the return to Hereford could help iron out some of the jumping issues that have blighted his last couple of efforts. Cave Article stays well and rates the chief danger with cheekpieces added, although King Of Brazil has hinted at a revival of late and can also figure if coping with the step back up in trip.

Christian Williams may well hold the key with his runners CAVE ARTICLE and Side Stepper, while Mistymal is third on the list.

14/1(-211%) | (8) Cusack 14/1, Gave the strong impression further would suit when staying on and going away for win here over 7f by 1/2l off 67 over 7f last time; trainer in form; form on an upward trajectory and has bug chance His recent course wins have been over 7f but he's versatile trip-wise; contender. |

The progressive KING CHAOS rates the pick of this bunch after getting off the mark in a relatively cosy manner over 1m3f at Southwell in December. The son of Kingman did show signs of greenness in that race but eventually knuckled down to register a five-length success. Cadarn was readily brushed aside by the selection when they met in a novice stakes here on his latest appearance. With that in mind, the fully-exposed hat-trick seekers Molinari and Cusack could be the pair fighting it out for second.

Newmarket trainer George Boughey operates at a very healthy 21% strike-rate here and CADARN is taken to make a winning handicap debut.

Not the deepest of contests and previous experience could prove key to the chances of JOSH CENTRAL. Tom Weston's gelding was far from disgraced on his racecourse bow at Taunton last month and is likely to have learned plenty from that spin. The booking of Sean Bowen is perhaps the most notable factor of all. Call Me Legend has experience between the flags and it would come as no surprise were he to be involved, while Border Gem is noted too.

Ex-Irish pointer CALL ME LEGEND needs watching in the market but he's not highly tried on his debut. Josh Central can be next best.

GIVE HIM A CHANCE ran well on his handicap debut last month and looks the type who should better his rating. Placed in an ordinary good-ground point-to-point last April, he was well held in his initial hurdle runs but showed much improved form at Gowran, where a cumbersome landing at the last hindered progress. Flemens Intrest won here last week and, although raised 10lb for that success, is lightly raced so open to more progression. One And Only had a good winter campaign and has form on good ground.

The vote goes to FLEMENS INTREST, who won in the manner of a horse well ahead of the assessor over C&D nine days ago

ANCIENT STATE benefited from a drop to 5f and the application of a tongue-tie when getting off the mark at Wolverhampton, despite not making the best of starts. The extra furlong on this occasion shouldn't pose any issues for the son of Dandy Man, who remains open to further improvement. Rock Master is entitled to step forward from his Chelmsford return with cheekpieces swapped for blinkers. Royal Accord and Sunny Time complete the shortlist.

The way he's heading this term, ROYAL ACCORD (nap) looks set to open his account. Woodhay Whisper is second choice.

6th (4) (125/1 +17%)Java Jackie |
125/1(+17%) | (4) Java Jackie 125/1, Well beaten in a bumper at Warwick only start where trailed home last; hard to recommend 80-1, no show at Warwick (good) two weeks ago. |

SINCHI ROCA made light work of the opposition on his only start in a point-to-point and followed up that smooth performance with a ready win in a Taunton bumper in February. The five-year-old is heading in the right direction and can defy the 7lb penalty. Getaway Vic carries the same burden for an equally taking performance on his Rules debut at Worcester, and he was far from disgraced when second at the same venue subsequently. Mighty Gesture and Windsor Blue complete the shortlist.

Getaway Vic and Windsor Blue have possibilities but SINCHI ROCA's career has started in a most promising fashion.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (25/1 -25%)Max The Tiger |
25/1(-25%) | (4) Max The Tiger 25/1, Last all four starts and well beaten at that; steps up markedly in trip and breeding suggests that is a positive, but there are none apart from that Failed to beat a rival across his four 2yo starts but the step up in trip could help. |

BRUCE BANNER has swapped yards twice since he won gamely at Kempton in January and appears to have been found a good opportunity to make a winning start for Rebecca Menzies. The son of Starspangledbanner has improved since being stepped up to middle distances and, with the likes of U S Grant and Bellator Bullet having shown very little to get excited about so far, this could be a straightforward task for the three-year-old.

On the face of it this looks an excellent opportunity for BRUCE BANNER to make a winning stable debut.

EMILY LOVE showed consistently useful point-to-point form before finishing third at this venue last month. She has form on fast ground between the flags and now has a race-fitness edge over some of her principal rivals. Amina ran well on debut at last summer's Galway Festival and will also appreciate good ground, while Knockarina has been off since disappointing in last year's race but had previously chased home the smart Familiar Dreams at Cork. Good Girl Kathleen showed useful point-to-point form, but is also long-absent.

Related to some smart types including Faugheen, a chance is taken on GOOD GIRL KATHLEEN to come out on top on her rules debut

9th (2) (5/1 +17%)Eva Dickson |
5/1(+17%) | (2) Eva Dickson 5/1, Appeared not to stay beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Southwell last time; in good form prior; off a short-break; worth another go at 1m but probably not ideal, form threat if seeing it out Six-race maiden; related to several winners for her connections; may still do better. |

BACKER BILK has been a model of consistency since beginning life in handicap company, which includes a victory here over 1m2f in February, and he's well respected. Spoilt proved her runner-up effort in maiden company wasn't a fluke when a decent fourth on handicap debut latest, and the extra furlong should help. Skyelight and Eva Dickson appear best of the remainder.

Another chance is given to EVA DICKSON who, judged on breeding, should do better still. Backer Bilk is a solid danger.

200/1(-150%) | (13) Storm Kitty 200/1, Modest effort debut and comfortably held in a maiden over 10f here last time; cheekpieces first time; down in trip; plenty more needed No threat here last month on first two starts; transformation needed now in cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (7/2 +0%)Shamador |
7/2(+0%) | (6) Shamador 7/2, Good second on debut here in September, but bit below that both starts since; making reappearance, from a yard in form and open to improvement Returns from a break having been gelded; major player if recapturing his C&D debut promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (40/1 0%)Aoife's Thunder |
40/1(0%) | (9) Aoife's Thunder 40/1, Well beaten in a novice at Wolverhampton only start; returning from a break; open to progress, but good bit to find 50-1 and well beaten on sole run but this well-bred filly could take sizeable step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (150/1 -50%)Hurricane Bea |
150/1(-50%) | (5) Hurricane Bea 150/1, Green on modest debut and probably needed the race when well beaten in a maiden here latest; should do better, but needs to improve to contend Well beaten on both starts (C&D latest) and dramatic improvement is required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (100/1 -355%)Sogannie |
100/1(-355%) | (2) Sogannie 100/1, Third beaten 8 1/4l in a novice here on fairly promising debut; should improve for that run, but has a lot to find Half-sister to four winners who is open to improvement on second start; not ruled out e-w. |

Georgecandoit and DOUBLE PARKED set the standard on the official ratings and while the former was consistent in a six-race campaign as a juvenile, the latter is less exposed and caught the eye with a close-up third-place finish in a maiden here last month. That run should have put an edge on the son of Bated Breath and his match-fitness could be the telling factor. Princess Pw appeals most from the rest with experience, while the debutants Four Fifty and Bin Ajwad merit betting checks.

Preference is for SHAMADOR, who was runner-up over C&D on last September's debut and has been gelded since his last run.

1/1(+27%) | (3) Jowddah 1/1, Progressive as a 2yo rounding off with a second beaten 1/2l in a novice at Yarmouth; first race on AW and making reappearance after a break, but from a good yard and likely still to be on an upward curve 2yo 2nds on turf at Newmarket, Salisbury and Yarmouth (1m; made most); the clear form pick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (4/1 -20%)Naallat |
4/1(-20%) | (4) Naallat 4/1, Frankel filly; half-sister to Kaasirr, useful at 8f; dam very smart at 8f at 2yo winning Listed Montrose Stakes; trainer in form; very interesting debutant Frankel half-sister to winners Kaasirr (7f/1m; RPR 80) and Tarraff (1m4f; 80); dam useful. |

14/1(+30%) | (8) Word Of Mouth 14/1, Made significant improvement second start after a modest debut when beaten 2 1/4l in a novice at Southwell; should improve again and can contend Not the form pick, but capable of better after she met trouble in running at Southwell. |

5th (1) (16/1 -100%)Bun Bang Fai |
16/1(-100%) | (1) Bun Bang Fai 16/1, 65,000gns Pinatubo filly; half-sister to Bacchanalian, very useful at 9f as 2yo; dam useful at 8f; yard in good form; one to consider on debut 65,000gns yearling by Pinatubo; yard had 3yo maiden runner short-headed at 11-8 on Monday. |

7/1(-27%) | (5) Noche Clasica 7/1, 100,000gns Night Of Thunder filly; half-sister to No Retreat, very useful at 7f; dam very smart at 12f won two Listed races; interesting debutant 100,000gns yearling by Night Of Thunder; late foal and makes debut but for powerful yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (33/1 +0%)Princess Amber |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Princess Amber 33/1, Fair effort on debut beaten 5l in a novice over 7f at Southwell; up in trip; off a short-break; should improve, but does have a bit to find with market leaders 22-1, always midfield when showing modest form in novice at Southwell (7f, AW) in February. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (100/1 -203%)Star Cast |
100/1(-203%) | (7) Star Cast 100/1, Went quick in front and hung on grimly for a creditable 7l third in a novice at Yarmouth last time improving hugely on two moderate runs prior; needs to progress again Last go for Sir Mark Prescott when front-running 3rd at Yarmouth (1m, soft); 17,000gns buy. |

Noche Clasica, Naallat and Bun Bang Fai all make their respective debuts and each make a certain level of appeal although the former, a 100,000gns purchase, might prove the strongest. However, the vote goes to JOWDDAH. Roger Varian's filly, who hit the woodwork on each of her three starts as a juvenile, can count herself unfortunate given the horses she lost out to. She ought to have strengthened up over the winter though and if picking up from where she left off, looks to have every chance of recording an overdue maiden success.

The clear standard is set by three-time runner-up JOWDDAH. Newcomers Naallat (same owner) and Noche Clasica need a close check.

40/1(+0%) | (6) Tough Enough 40/1, Probably needed race beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap over 7f at Southwell last time; ran only once in 2024 and has clearly had major issues; retained ability to prove Three-time winner; on a reduced mark but a return to form is needed. |

17/2(+29%) | (9) Flying Fletcher 17/2, Ran to form beaten 1/2l off 83 over 7f here last time; top course trainer; goes well here; effective 6f; not out of it Two-time C&D winner; close third here on two of his last three starts; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (22/1 +21%)Arnhem |
22/1(+21%) | (1) Arnhem 22/1, Beaten less than 4l in a Group 3 at Dundalk penultimate start, but below par beaten 8l in a handicap therelast time; very hard to assess accurately, but may threaten Useful in Ireland but with modest strike-rate; this 9yo may be best watched on yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (22/1 -120%)Solar Aclaim |
22/1(-120%) | (4) Solar Aclaim 22/1, In good form towards the end of last season and bang to form beaten a length off 85 at Doncaster final start; first time on Tapeta; off a break, but chance if straight enough Unproven on AW but ended last season in good form on turf; makes reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (5/1 +23%)Monks Dream |
5/1(+23%) | (8) Monks Dream 5/1, Quickened clear takingly when well backed and landed handicap by 2l off 77 over 5f here last time; gets 6f; goes well here; can rate more highly and could defy 6lb rise Three wins from six course visits; on a career-high mark but still a key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (8/1 +20%)Gressington |
8/1(+20%) | (3) Gressington 8/1, Redcar winner by 1/2l off 82 in September, bit below that final start of 2024 up to current mark; returns to 6f here and off a break; may just need run 6f win at Redcar last September; not ruled out now back down in trip on reappearance. |

A competitive sprint in which only a tentative vote can be afforded to GRANT WOOD. Down the field in the Ayr Silver Cup in September, Paul Midgley's charge returned to action with a creditable second at Wolverhampton last month and is a real player off the same mark, especially given his favourable draw. Monks Dream was on target over 5f here last month and although 6lb higher, should appreciate a return to further. Solar Aclaim found steady progress in handicaps last season and he catches the eye back from a break, while others to note include Jungle Land and William Dewhirst.

Jessica Macey's horses are running well and JENEVER, who has a solid record here, earns the vote ahead of Monks Dream.

2nd (5) (17/2 +23%)Azuinthejungle |
17/2(+23%) | (5) Azuinthejungle 17/2, Yard won this last year; not clear run beaten 4l off 64 here last time in November and better judged on better effort penultimate start; back from a short-break and may just need run Respectable efforts in nurseries here last autumn but needs something extra today. |

3rd (6) (4/1 +20%)Snow Creek |
4/1(+20%) | (6) Snow Creek 4/1, One decent effort in a novice on penultimate start, but well below that form either side; top jockey up, but tricky to assess and looks risky Handicap newcomer; Newmarket trainer has 3-9 record at Newcastle; interesting. |

4th (2) (4/1 -78%)Francis Drake |
4/1(-78%) | (2) Francis Drake 4/1, Ran to form beaten a nose off 62 over 7f at Lingfield last time; trainer in form; has never run below 6f so that is a worry, but tends to lead over further so has some pace Headed in final stride over 7f on recent handicap debut; sprinting is well worth a go. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (7/1 -8%)Startling |
7/1(-8%) | (3) Startling 7/1, In excellent form and ran to current level when beaten 3l off 64 over 5f here last time; below par only start at 6f, but significant jockey booking and obvious claims Some good 5f form here & she's been shaping as though this step back up in trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (7/2 +0%)Bow Street |
7/2(+0%) | (1) Bow Street 7/2, Bit below par beaten 3l off 67 over 5f at Lingfield last time, but mark is falling, seems suited by this track and looks nicely handicapped if gets back to form Won over C&D last November and kept on for fair fourth over 5f at Lingfield recently. |

14/1(-100%) | (8) Sun Keeper 14/1, Game when scored by 3/4l off 55 at Wolverhampton three starts back; second beaten 2 1/4l off 58 last time after being hampered twice; suited by 6f; major chance 6f Wolverhampton win in February and 5f runner-up here last time; could be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (17/2 +74%)Captain Pickles |
17/2(+74%) | (4) Captain Pickles 17/2, Promise first two starts as a juvenile, but form tailed off after; mark looks quite generous based on those two good runs, but off a break, first time on the AW and everything to prove really Failed to threaten in nurseries last autumn; major turnaround is needed on his AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (18/1 -29%)Hidden Verse |
18/1(-29%) | (9) Hidden Verse 18/1, Minor promise in novices, but far too free on handicap debut and down the field over 7f at Lingfield; first time on Tapeta; not proven trip; lot of questions to answer Well beaten over 7f on h'cap debut but pulled hard and could appreciate this shorter trip. |

FRANCIS DRAKE was touched off by an improver on his handicap debut at Lingfield recently, but the son of Belardo is fancied to make amends and go one place better despite a 3lb rise. Snow Creek enters handicaps from a potentially workable mark and must enter calculations along with Sun Keeper, who hit the crossbar over 5f here last time out and is sure to appreciate the extra furlong today.

Having been caught in the final stride over 7f on his recent handicap debut at Lingfield, FRANCIS DRAKE (nap) is taken to go one better.

9/1(-29%) | (5) Odd Socks Havana 9/1, Raced freely beaten 3l off 52 here last time having met trouble when favourite previous start; running fairly well, C&D suits and should be thereabouts Five-time course winner who went close over C&D three starts ago; could be involved. |

10/3(-11%) | (2) Cuban Fiesta 10/3, Ran well reappearance when beaten 1 1/2l off 59 here; every reason to believe can come on a fraction for that though was visored first-time and effect may not be so pronounced 0-11 but good second over C&D on last month's stable/seasonal debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/2 +54%)Jumeira Vision |
11/2(+54%) | (4) Jumeira Vision 11/2, Scored narrowly off a 54 at Wolverhampton (10f) penultimate start, but below par beaten 9 1/4l over same C&D last time; trainer in form; down in trip; off a short-break; needs a return to form Well beaten at Wolverhampton latest but won there two starts ago; chance if on a going day. |

7/1(+22%) | (1) Thats My Boy Luke 7/1, Narrowly beaten off a 61 here beginning of March fitted with cheekpieces, but last of 8 latest at Southwell; erratic, but fair mark at best Went close over C&D last month; down the field at Southwell since but not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (7/1 +42%)Going Underground |
7/1(+42%) | (7) Going Underground 7/1, Slowly away second beaten 2l in a classified race over 10f at Ripon latest running about to form; down in trip; significant jockey booking, but making reappearance Modest strike-rate but has won over C&D and Billy Loughnane is booked for reappearance. |

A highly promising second when not getting the clearest of runs over C&D last month on his first start for new connections, CUBAN FIESTA looks capable of breaking the maiden at the 12th time of asking. That may be at the main expense of Rooska, who was back to form with a strong runner-up effort over 7f here most recently. Impeach and Odd Socks Havana are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

Having run well at Southwell three weeks ago, six-time course winner POP FAVORITE is taken to return to winning ways now back here.

11/4(+39%) | (6) Coramento 11/4, Landed handicap by a length off 45 here last time for new yard and only pushed out to do so; trainer in form; open to improvement, could follow-up 1-1 for a yard that's in excellent form; more to give and looks the answer. |

8/1(+27%) | (7) Anif 8/1, Out of form since 3/4l 3rd off 55 in a Southwell handicap in November; mark has fallen and better effort in classified race last time; if running to similar level could place Veteran who can still be competitive; return to handicaps asks for a bit more though. |

16/1(-60%) | (4) Spartan Fighter 16/1, Back to form beaten 3 1/2l off 53 over 7f here last time in an apprentice race after two very poor efforts following a run of good form; not proven trip Better last time but tries this trip for the first time on his 82nd start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (22/1 +33%)Wait And Hope |
22/1(+33%) | (1) Wait And Hope 22/1, Probably needed race well beaten in a handicap over 7f here latest having not run since September; form tailed off terribly last term and retained ability to prove Struggling for a while now and no encouragement in his recent return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (20/1 +29%)Millbuie |
20/1(+29%) | (8) Millbuie 20/1, Consistent at a low level last term and ground probably too testing beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap at Hamilton final start; not really proven on AW and may need race off a break Unexposed on AW but difficult to know what to expect on this return from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (40/1 +39%)Rohilla |
40/1(+39%) | (9) Rohilla 40/1, In poor form and raced freely down the field in a classified race at Southwell most recent start; needs a return to form to have any chance Has shown very little in seven starts and would be a surprise winner. |

A revelation on his first start for new connections when scoring comfortably over C&D last month, CORAMENTO is likely to have more improvement forthcoming and he can follow up off 4lb higher. Behind him on that occasion were the reopposing Wyvern (second) and Just Typical (third), who are well capable of being involved in proceedings once again. Not outside the first two on each of his last four starts, Urban Dandy cannot be ruled out either.

The lightly raced 4yo CORAMENTO made a successful handicap and stable debut here last time and can build on that.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
