LTO Selection:

12:45 Chepstow Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This represents a considerable drop in grade for ROMANCERO LE DUN, who struggled in the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last month. The Jane Williams-trained gelding kept on well to score over this trip at Ludlow on his penultimate outing and must command respect given he receives a four-year-old allowance here. Amoola Gold reverts to timber following a disappointing spin over fences at Haydock and is feared ahead of Regally Blonde.

ROMANCERO LE DUN never figured in the Fred Winter last month but he had excuses then and, having looked progressive in juvenile events previously, he can capitalise on the return to calmer waters and come out on top. Amoola Gold, despite a lesser display over fences recently, can emerge as the chief threat.

Preference is for ROMANCERO LE DUN, a dual hurdle winner this season who can easily be excused his defeat at Cheltenham last month.

(5) Bebside Banter 22/1, Much improved when second of 12 in handicap hurdle at Musselburgh (2m, soft) in January but in nothing like the same form twice since. Remains to be seen if this much longer trip helps.
LTO Selection:

13:00 Newcastle Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Howzat Hiris is respected after winning over course and distance last month and can go well again despite a 4lb higher mark, while Shesupincourt, who is a potential pace angle, has also performed with credit over C&D recently and warrants consideration in the first-time cheekpieces. However, NIGHTS IN VENICE wasn't beaten far in a deeper-looking race at Carlisle 20 days ago and could be hard to repel at this level with ground conditions likely to suit.

HOWZAT HIRIS can continue his run of good form since fitted with cheekpieces and follow up last month's C&D success. Shesupincourt has headgear added as she bids to end a frustrating sequence of seconds but may have to settle for the runner-up spot again. Nights In Venice and Donald McCain handicap newcomer Nell's Bells also make the shortlist.

Last month's C&D winner HOWZAT HIRIS is just preferred to Nights In Venice, who was a good second at Carlisle last time.

LTO Selection:

13:20 Chepstow Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

IMPERIAL JADE has been steadily progressive since making her racecourse debut in November and must hold every chance of building on a fair second at Newbury. The Charlie Longsdon-trained filly has gone well for Lilly Pinchin in the past and is fancied to break her duck. Kooky makes his hurdling bow and can give the selection plenty to think about if his Huntingdon bumper third is indicative of his talents. Jina finished a distant fourth at Taunton, but wasn't that far behind the selection prior to that.

Those with previous form don't set a tall standard and it could be worth chancing newcomer PHONE HOME. She makes appeal on paper and represents a yard in good form and it would come as no surprise to see a bold showing. French-recruit Pennsylvanie and Kooky, on his respective hurdles debut, head up the dangers.

Jane Williams' KOOKY made a promising bumper debut in January and may be too good for Jina and Imperial Jade here.

LTO Selection:

13:30 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Based on the summary, it is difficult to predict which horse will do well as there are varying levels of experience and recent performances among them. However, You Saw Brigadoon and War Chant seem to have the most promising recent performances and are expected to be in the running. Twilight Guest also has potential based on their past performance at the same course.

YOU SAW BRIGADOON got off the mark over an extended mile at Wolverhampton three weeks ago and a 4lb rise for that success may underestimate the son of Kingman. Deed Pole has been running well in defeat, most recently over this distance at Bath last week, and could make the frame in a race of this nature. War Chant and Twilight Guest should not be underestimated on their return to action.

YOU SAW BRIGADOON is going the right way now and had a bit in hand when off the mark at Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago, so can defy a 4 lb rise. War Chant showed big improvement when scoring on his handicap bow at Brighton in October so is an obvious threat if ready to go, with Twilight Guest best of the others.

Well beaten in three starts last year, CENTERSTAGE is bred to be much better than that and this longer trip should prompt improvement.

13:35 Newcastle Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Former point-to-point winner SOUND AND FURY has made a good start to racing under Rules and made a winning start over hurdles at Exeter in February. He subsequently came up against a potentially decent opponent when he was a good second to one of Nicky Henderson's Irish imports in a similar race at Newbury 22 days ago, which may prove to be good form, and he is taken to go one better today. Fellow pointing recruits Cold Sobar and Langdale Lane look the pick of the opposition.

SOUND AND FURY surpassed his winning form when finding only a fairly useful one too strong at Newbury 3 weeks ago, and with a good-value conditional taking over, he can double his career tally. Fellow previous winners Cold Sobar and Langdale Lane are the obvious threats.

Although he didn't beat a great deal, COLD SOBAR was pretty impressive when winning on his hurdles debut here and is taken to follow up.

LTO Selection:

13:45 Aintree Maiden Chase (Class 1) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Nicky Henderson lifted this prize two years ago with Shishkin, and he could do so once more thanks to JONBON. The classy seven-year-old, who struck over the smaller obstacles at this meeting 12 months ago, has upwards of 7lb in hand on official ratings and lost nothing in defeat when chasing home El Fabiolo in the Arkle at Cheltenham. It's unlikely he faces anything of similar calibre here, and he should land his third Grade 1 (second over fences). Notlongtillmay posted a career-best performance when second in the Turners and further improvement isn't out of the question. Calico gave the selection a race in a match at Warwick in February, but is in too deep now.

It's hard to see past JONBON who went down to a top-class rival at Cheltenham and can land a novice win at this meeting for the second year running. Notlongtillmay gets the nod for the forecast spot.

If JONBON gives his running - he's only ever been beaten by two machines at the peak of their powers - he should have this in the bag.

13:55 Chepstow Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Runner-up over timber on his two most recent outings, Yggdrasil can have a say in proceedings back over fences, especially given he is now rated 3lb below his last winning mark. However, there has been no stopping SKINFLINT of late and Henry Oliver's 11-year-old is fancied to secure a hat-trick. He went up 10lb from his extended 2m3f win here to his C&D triumph, so a further 7lb rise may not be enough to hold him back. Rock Of Star also bolted up over C&D most recently and is another to bear in mind.

ROCK OF STAR produced a career best when scoring in good style over C&D last month and can defy a 9 lb rise with that form working out well. Low-mileage veteran Skinflint looked better than ever when winning here on his last 2 starts so should make another bold bid, with Wild Romance best of the others.

Dan Skelton's mare WILD ROMANCE ran well behind an on-song course specialist at Warwick last month and might be the answer.

DAPHNE MAY returned to form over this trip at Bath recently and the daughter of Mayson could be hard to stop with Billy Loughnane's claim largely negating her 7lb rise in the ratings. Island Of Skye narrowly beat the selection at Kempton two starts ago and is an obvious threat once again, while Moon Over The Sea also merits a place on the shortlist.

DAPHNE MAY justified support to record a sixth career success at Bath last week and is taken to follow up for a yard in cracking form and with an excellent-value apprentice help offsetting a 7 lb rise. Moon Over The Sea looked as good as ever when scoring at Bath last week and is next best ahead of Island of Skye.

The leading contender is DAPHNE MAY, who pulled well clear with the runner-up when scoring in similar conditions at Bath last week.

(6) Here Comes The Man 6/1, Big-money buy following sole point win. Bettered previous Rules efforts when runner-up on handicap hurdle debut at Ayr (19.5f) in November, beaten only by another improver. Interesting connections opt for a quick switch to chasing and he's one to consider.

LTO Selection:

14:15 Newcastle Handicap Chase (Class 4) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

East Street has enured mixed fortunes lately, but retains scope for further progress and has a live chance of following up last month's Wetherby success from just a 1lb higher mark. However, better value might lie with GLITTERING LOVE, who returned from a short break with a solid effort when second at Hexham in mid-March and a 2lb rise may underestimate him judged on his peak form over fences. Chasing debutant Here Comes The Man, a former point-to-point winner, is also respected.

An expensive purchase on the back of success between the Flags, HERE COMES THE MAN ran his best race over hurdles when beaten only by another improver on handicap debut in November, and with the prospect of more to come, he could be worth chancing on chase debut. Glittering Love and East Street are others to consider, along with Camp Belan.

Conditions should be deep enough for GLITTERING LOVE to show his form and Conor Rabbitt's claim is welcomed.

LTO Selection:

14:25 Aintree Handicap Hurdle (Class 1) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

GOOD TIME JONNY justified strong support in the market when given a patient ride to win the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham last month and he may complete the double off only 5lb higher in the handicap. Mill Green and An Tailliur finished behind in third and sixth respectively that day and, while they both merit consideration, the former may emerge as the bigger threat given that he finished a respectable third in last year's renewal of t his race. West Balboa boasts a lightly-raced profile and arrives in this contest having landed the Lanzarote at Kempton in January in game fashion and improvement could be forthcoming for Dan Skelton's charge now running beyond 3m for the first time under Rules. Outlaw Peter pulled up behind that rival, but he appears to have progressed since and shouldn't be underestimated. Party Business hasn't cut much ice since winning this contest last season, but is now just 5lb higher in the ratings as a result and the seven-year-old may have been targeted at the race.

Claims can be made for plenty with the narrow vote in favour of WEST BALBOA. Clearly held in high regard, she produced her best effort yet when landing the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton in January, and wisely given a break since, there's a strong possibility she can do better still now her stamina is drawn out further. Good Time Jonny produced a smashing effort to land the Pertemps last month and is feared. An Tailliur, Au Fleuron and last year's winner Party Business complete the shortlist.

Progressive mare WEST BALBOA was having only her fourth hurdle start when winning the Lanzarote and can make light of a 5lb rise.

LTO Selection:

14:35 Chepstow Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sweet Magic shaped like her turn is near when runner-up over 2m3f at Warwick and although she should appreciate this stiffer test given her pedigree, she will need to settle better to see it out. With that in mind, MY GIRL KATIE makes slightly more appeal. The Grace Harris-trained six-year-old arrives in good heart having been beaten just half a length into third at Taunton last month, and a 1lb nudge in the ratings shouldn't dent her chances. Hellfire Princess completes the shortlist.

SWEET MAGIC has made a solid start over hurdles for new connections, and with this trip expected to be within range, she's the most persuasive option. My Girl Katie should give it another good go, with She's So Lovely a potential improver if a tongue tie helps her finishing effort.

The vote goes to Irish point winner MY GIRL KATIE, who has been progressive over hurdles and went close in a 3m handicap last time.

14:45 Yarmouth Stakes (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Dasho Lennie merits respect having justified favouritism at Lingfield recently, but a 7lb penalty for that success has to be a concern. With that in mind, preference is for TEMPERED SOUL, who put in an encouraging effort on his debut when fourth at Kempton last month and is entitled to improve for the experience. Elshaameq and Natzor are others with strong form claims in an open event.

NATZOR made a promising start when third at Newcastle (second has won subsequently) and the 7 lb he receives from penalised winner Dasho Lennie may prove decisive. Tempered Soul failed to meet market expectations at Kempton but he still offered something to work on so is best of the others.

Preference is for NATZOR who made a promising debut at Newcastle last month. His pedigree suggests he should appreciate this extra 2f.

WORD HAS IT may be winless in over two years but recent efforts have suggested that he is getting closer, and these race conditions could provide his best opportunity yet. Mcgowan's Pass bounced back to form with a strong runner-up effort at Wetherby and he is likely to be thereabouts, along with Doncaster scorer Fingal's Hill and C&D winner Fostered Phil.

WORD HAS IT got back to his very best when runner-up returned to hurdling at Stratford a month ago and from the same mark, hopes are high that he can go one place better. McGowan's Pass is also well weighted these days and is a threat, with Fingal's Hill another to consider.

This can go to WORD HAS IT (nap) who ran really well behind an improver at Stratford and he gets in here off the same mark.

15:00 Aintree Maiden Hurdle (Class 1) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Gordon Elliott won this contest last year with Three Stripe Life and he can do so once more with IRISH POINT, who has some eyecatching form from earlier in the season. Already a runner-up in two Grade 1s, including when pipped by Supreme winner Marine Nationale in the Royal Bond, the five-year-old skipped Cheltenham, instead warming up for this with a confidence-boosting Naas success. You Wear It Well arrives on the back of an excellent victory in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle, but she must overturn form with her Challow conqueror Hermes Allen, who was a major disappointment at the Festival. Dark Raven could be interesting stepping up in trip, while Springwell Bay has won his last two with considerable ease and is another to note. Letsbeclearaboutit wasn't beaten far in the Albert Bartlett and may well be suited by going back in distance.

This is very open and while SPRINGWELL BAY hasn't quite achieved as much as some of these, he's a smashing prospect with the obvious scope to rate higher. He can take the step up in grade in his stride at the chief expense of Dark Raven and You Wear It Well, though Hermes Allen is also very dangerous if back to the level he attained in the Challow.

Hermes Allen remains of strong interest but a solid alternative is IRISH POINT. Springwell Bay is respected too.

GRIZZLY JAMES responded well to more positive tactics when winning at Hereford last week and with Ned Fox now on board to claim a handy 5lb, he's effectively running off the same mark as that success. Walk In The Wild returned to form when runner-up at Warwick and is feared most, although Striking Out should appreciate this slight drop in class from a 0-120 Doncaster contest and is another to consider.

WALK IN THE WILD bounced back to form when second at Warwick 16 days ago and can go one better for his in-form yard. Recent Hereford 1-2 Grizzly James and Abaya du Mathan are feared most.

Walk In The Wild is respected but the vote goes to GRIZZLY JAMES, who cashed in on a reduced mark with his clearcut win last week.

It's been almost two years since SPOOF last managed to get his head in front, but he returned from an absence with a good second at the Lincoln meeting. Kevin Frost's eight-year-old is now 6lb below his last winning mark and he's taken to go one better. Angle Land remains in good form and she is likely to throw down another serious challenge, while Faustus should appreciate forecast ground conditions and is another to consider.

ANGLE LAND arrives in good nick from AW and has plenty of form on turf so she could be the way to go. Her stablemate Faustus won off a similar mark on his 2022 reappearance and is a possible threat, while Spoof is also respected on the back of his Doncaster near miss.

This can go to SPOOF, who is taken to gain compensation having only just been caught on his return to action at Doncaster 13 days ago.

LTO Selection:

15:25 Newcastle Handicap Chase (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

HIGH MOON has been unlucky not to get his head in front this season and he went close once more at Hexham last time out. The eight-year-old could see his luck change on this occasion, with easy Sedgefield winner Blue Hawaii and the capable Bushypark looking best placed to chase him home. Already a three-time winner this season, Arthur's Quay cannot be ruled out either.

Fit from a spin on the Flat, BLUE HAWAII produced a career-best effort over fences when scoring with plenty to spare at Sedgefield 23 days ago and a 6 lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold bid given she remains low-mileage in this sphere. High Moon is knocking on the door and rates a lead threat, whilst Evander is another worth keeping an eye on.

A good handicap. EVANDER is back on a good mark and it doesn't take too much imagination to envisage a return to form from him.

15:35 Aintree Conditions Hurdle (Class 1) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

It is difficult to predict which horse will do well based on this summary as each horse has their own strengths and weaknesses. However, Sire Du Berlais appears to be a strong contender as he won this race last year and recently won the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham. Champ also has a strong track record and recently won a Grade 2 hurdle at Newbury. Marie's Rock has also had success at the highest level and could potentially bounce back from a disappointing run at Cheltenham. Ultimately, the outcome of the race will depend on how each horse performs on the day.

A competitive renewal of the Liverpool Hurdle with several intriguing contenders lining up, including Marie's Rock, who is fancied to bounce back following a disappointing run behind Honeysuckle in the Mares' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. She gets a mares' allowance here, so the daughter of Milan looks a big player for powerful connections. That being said, Stayers' Hurdle winners are 5-7 in this race since it became a Grade 1 in 2010, so SIRE DU BERLAIS could be worth siding with. He kept on well to score from the well-fancied Flooring Porter in this contest last year and the fact he was able to uphold that form at Cheltenham last month must make Gordon Elliott's 11-year-old of significant interest. Dashel Drasher filled the runner-up spot behind the selection last time out and is another not to be taken lightly in first-time cheekpieces.

HOME BY THE LEE shaped a lot better than the result when behind a couple of these in the Stayers' at Cheltenham and is taken to turn the tables and notch a second Grade 1 win of the season. Champ has been freshened up since his run at Kempton over Christmas and is a very talented operator on his day so he's second choice ahead of stablemate Marie's Rock, who can't have been right at Cheltenham last month and can get back on track now stepping up to 3m for the first time.

Stayers' Hurdle fourth FLOORING PORTER suffered an interrupted preparation for Cheltenham and can improve from that run.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BERT WILSON appeared revitalised by a 51-day absence when staying on strongly to win over C&D last month and a 7lb rise in the ratings may not prevent Nigel Hawke's gelding from completing a double. Just Over Land is bred to appreciate this longer distance and the four-year-old may have more to offer now entering handicaps. Royal Mer ran with more promise when second at Hereford and can't be dismissed off 1lb lower.

BERT WILSON found plenty when tackled at the last here last time and might be able to defy the handicapper again. Handicap-newcomers Just Over Land and Kash Tara are potentially dangerous opponents, particularly if the betting speaks in their favour.

This might go to well-bred juvenile JUST OVER LAND, who shaped with significant promise when third in a 2m maiden last month.

15:55 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HARRY WITH STYLE lived up to his name when running out a decisive winner at Bath last week and with Billy Loughnane negating over half of the 9lb rise incurred for that success, he can repeat the dose. Crikey Juicey should appreciate the return to turf and could improve in first-time cheekpieces, while Quinault is worth monitoring in the market ahead of his handicap bow. Silks Graphite should not be underestimated either.

HARRY WITH STYLE showed improved form in refitted cheekpieces when running out a good winner at Bath 8 days ago and a repeat should see him go very close again with Billy Loughnane taking off a very handy 5 lb. Quinault looks a likely improver now switched to handicaps and market support behind him would look significant. Sumac, fit and in-form from the all-weather, can also hit the frame.

Last week's Bath winner HARRY WITH STYLE gets the vote. Twayblade is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Thunder In Milan put it all together when winning at Musselburgh last month and though he merits respect from a 4lb higher mark, preference is for EX S'ELANCE. Victor Thompson's charge found only a well-treated rival too strong when narrowly denied at Hexham 16 days ago, he remains open to improvement over fences and compensation could await now nudged up just 1lb in the handicap. Six One Nine heads the remainder.

EX S'ELANCE wasted no time getting back to form when second at Hexham last time, just touched off on the line having arguably pressed on too soon, so he's well worth a chance to resume winning ways. Six One Nine should give his running again and last-time-out winner Thunder In Milan deserves respect.

Lucinda Russell could enjoy a timely tonic ahead of Corach Rambler's National bid with another win for THUNDER IN MILAN.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

BEAUPORT travelled well for a long way but failed to see out the testing 3m2f on soft ground in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham last month. Down a furlong in trip and switched to a flat track, the seven-year-old may put in an improved effort and is certainly on a workable mark. Midnight River disappointed at the Festival but is a player based on his Grade 3 victory at Cheltenham two starts ago. Eldorado Allen has been highly tried this season and should not be underestimated now eased in grade, while Gold Cup Bailly and Nassalam are a couple of others to note.

SHAKEM UP'ARRY has really impressed with how he's travelled since the tongue strap was fitted, producing another cracking effort when third in the Magners Plate at the Cheltenham Festival, and he may just get away with the longer trip at this flatter track. Midnight River and Nassalam failed to meet expectations in the same race at Cheltenham but both are likely to bounce back given their profiles, while Beauport will be suited by the drop back in trip given how he shaped in the Kim Muir.

Beauport can go well but he may have to give best to SHAKEM UP'ARRY who can improve on his good third at the Cheltenham Festival.

CAST'S TASHA put in a career best when filling second place over 2m4f at Uttoxeter two weeks ago and a reproduction of that level of form would give her a big chance in a moderate event. Rajjamataz showed some promise at Hexham last time and is one to note on his handicap bow, while similar comments apply to He's My Shadow.

DRAGOON SPRINGS shaped well a few times for Tony Carroll over hurdles and looks well treated on bumper form, so he might be worth chancing on debut for a new yard despite having a 14-month absence to overcome. Cast's Tasha looks a solid alternative and Rajjamataz deserves respect.

Robbie Llewellyn's HE'S MY SHADOW ran well under a very positive ride in a C&D maiden last month and might be able to dominate this.

LUNA QUEEN bounced back to form with a comfortable success at Lingfield last time out and the drop in trip should not inconvenience her on her return to the turf. The daughter of Al Kazeem gets the vote ahead of grand veteran Astrophysics and course winner Phoenix Star, who has dropped 7lb below his last winning mark. El Royale and Yimou are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

PHOENIX STAR has been in reasonable form on the AW and now has a career-low mark to exploit on turf, so he could be the way to go. With 6f not certain to suit Luna Queen and El Royale, Concierge could be the main threat down in class.

It might be worth siding with course winner PHOENIX STAR, who is well handicapped on his win in the mud at Sandown in the autumn.

ENEMY AT THE GATE appeared to relish a step up in trip when filling the runner-up spot over C&D last month and he could atone for that defeat, though a 6lb higher mark will require him to pull out more. Turning Gold drops in class and must enter calculations along with Celestial Fashion, who makes her second start following wind surgery.

ENEMY AT THE GATE is worth a chance to build on his improved second over C&D last month. Moonlight Glory, a course winner on his latest hurdle start, and last month's Carlisle runner-up Celestial Fashion may give him most to think about.

LTO Selection:

16:52 Chepstow Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SPIRIT D'AUNOU has made an excellent start to his career and completed a hat-trick when winning on his handicap bow at Sandown last month. Off just 5lb higher here, the Gary Moore-trained juvenile could be hard to stop once more. That said, Fiston De Becon has also been in good form of late and is an obvious threat as he goes in search of a three-timer of his own. Bertie's Wish is the pick of the remainder.

SPIRIT D'AUNOU comes here in search of a four-timer and hasn't finished improving, so he takes preference over Fiston de Becon, who also boasts a progressive profile. Mothill should run his race again.

The 4yo SPIRIT D'AUNOU (nap) completed a hat-trick when winning on his handicap debut at Sandown last month and can score again.

LTO Selection:

17:00 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Beaten just half a length into second on his return to the turf at Bath last week, CHAGALL arrives here in excellent form having previously won well at Lingfield and he is taken to notch up a sixth career success. That may be at the main expense of Blue Collar Lad, who has been on the go a long time, and Brazen Arrow.

CHAGALL was unlucky to bump into one at Bath a week ago, pulling a long way clear with a punted rival and on that evidence, he's capable of defying this mark. Blue Collar Lad and Shorts On head the opposition.

The in-form 7yo CHAGALL (nap) was a clear second in a 1m2f handicap at Bath last week and is a major player again back at this trip.

LTO Selection:

17:15 Aintree Handicap Chase (Class 1) 34f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Based on the summary, 11/1 (7) DELTA WORK, 10/1 (2) NOBLE YEATS, and 8/1 (26) CORACH RAMBLER seem like strong contenders for the race. 11/1 (7) DELTA WORK has a good track record at Cheltenham and a recent win in the Cross Country Chase, while 10/1 (2) NOBLE YEATS has improved significantly since last year and finished fourth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. 8/1 (26) CORACH RAMBLER has also had recent success at Cheltenham and has a 10 lb advantage. However, other horses such as 10/1 (25) AIN'T THAT A SHAME and 12/1 (5) THE BIG DOG cannot be dismissed and may surprise.

This most famous race has tended to see some quirky individuals come alive around the National fences in the past and there are none more so in this year's field than MR INCREDIBLE. The seven-year-old has been eye-catching when staying on from off the pace in the Kim Muir and Classic Chase this season, both excellent trials for this unique contest. No winner has carried more than 11-10 to win the National since the mighty Red Rum and that stat does not bode well for last year's one-two, Noble Yeats (first) and Any Second Now, both of whom arrive in fine form. Last year's third Delta Work is now 20lb better off with the winner and arrives on the back of another excellent win in the Cross Country at Cheltenham, while Corach Rambler is 10lb well-in after doubling up in the Ultima. The Big Dog is another dour stayer who has already notched up victories in the Munster National and Troytown this season, while on the other side of the water, Le Milos and Our Power have done similar. One to note at a big price could be Gabbys Cross, who has a very similar profile to Henry De Bromhead's 2021 winner Minella Times.

DELTA WORK can give Gordon Elliott a fourth Grand National victory. He's been extremely strong at the finish when winning the Cross Country Chase for the last 2 years, the same race Tiger Roll landed before taking this in 2018 and 2019 for connections, and he gave a great account of himself when third off 1 lb higher 12 months ago. Corach Rambler is another dual Cheltenham Festival winner who ticks plenty of boxes for the 2017-winning yard. Le Milos and Vanillier complete the shortlist.

Performances in France suggest ROI MAGE (nap) can reveal himself in a spectacular new light with today's test. Le Milos is next.

LTO Selection:

17:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DEBYDINKS let down favourite-backers at Thirsk, but he attracted market support thanks to an encouraging second at Newcastle and is selected on the basis that he seems much happier on an artificial surface. Holly Blackmore was ahead of him in fourth in that Thirsk contest so has to be considered dangerous, while Ma Famille flopped at Bath but is another who should be seen in a better light back on the all-weather. Throw the returning Alainn Tu into the mix too.

DEBYDINKS may have run below-par on his latest outing, but he had finished runner-up on the all-weather on 2 of his 3 previous starts, so back on tapeta he can open his account with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle. Holly Blackmore has shown more since going handicapping and could be the main danger, ahead of Ma Famille.

Testing ground makes MA FAMILLE's recent low-key handicap debut easy enough to forgive and she can show her true colours back on AW.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Gold As Glass sprung a bit of a surprise when just getting the better of a filly with previous experience on her Newmarket debut but, as a result, she must concede weight to some promising opponents. Sail On Silverbird offered encouragement when third behind a smart prospect of Charlie Appleby's at Kempton, with Maid In London just behind, and the Godolphin handler could land this race too courtesy of TRANQUIL ROSE, who was collared in the dying strides over a furlong further here. Newcomer Mischievous Madame has to be considered closely as well.

A half-sister to Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Native Trail, TRANQUIL ROSE was beaten only by another promising newcomer on her debut here last month, so she is taken to go one better with improvement to come. Gold As Glass made a winning start last season and is feared most up in trip, with Maid In London completing the shortlist.

Maid Of London should build on a promising debut but TRANQUIL ROSE looks the one to beat after a good second here last month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Patrick Mullins was excited by the prospects of Blizzard Of Oz earlier in the season, so it would have come as a relief when he opened his account at Cork last month. He should continue to progress, but that's the case with many of these and a chance is taken on CENTARA. Paul Nicholls has landed two of the previous three renewals of this contest and his bloodless Taunton scorer can boost his record further. Aslukgoes has yet to taste defeat in three starts so must enter calculations, along with the Gordon Elliott-trained Pour Les Filles. Others to note include Kinbara, Beat The Bat and Go To War.

CENTARA tanked through the race when making a successful start at Taunton recently and he could find sufficient improvement to maintain his unbeaten record up in grade. Captain Cody is an obvious player after his excellent sixth in the Champion Bumper, while his stablemate Blizzard of Oz is one of several others with feasible claims in an open-looking renewal.

Top billing in a warm race goes to the well-bred Leopardstown winner POUR LES FILLES, with Centara second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There was a good word for DUBAI DAWN prior to his introduction over C&D and he didn't disappoint, travelling strongly before kicking clear to make a winning start. The runner-up, beaten a length, is now rated 72 and James Tate's colt was only in receipt of 2lb so he should be able to see of the 73-rated Maxzeno, who lacks the benefit of a recent run and has to give the selection 5lb. Kracking is bred for speed and it will be interesting to see what the market makes of him.

DUBAI DAWN made the perfect start over C&D 4 weeks ago and can defy a penalty with improvement on the way. Maxzeno can improve this year and is feared more than newcomer Kracking.

Maxzeno should win races this year but DUBAI DAWN looked promising here on debut and can maintain his unbeaten record.

19:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KENSINGTON AGENT finished a fine third in a 17-runner affair at Bath last Friday and, off the same mark, looks to have been found a good opportunity on this return to the all-weather. Come On Girl was last of fourth when the selection struck at Chelmsford in February, but the six-year-old has since performed with credit and seems the biggest threat. Penguin Island rounded off 2022 with a couple of Chepstow seconds and also warrants consideration if ready to roll.

KENSINGTON AGENT has thrived this year, winning 3 times including at this C&D in January, and she can continue her good run of form to land another victory. Come On Girl has also been running well and is a likely contender once again, while Penguin Island could be capable of getting involved on her return.

Kensington Agent holds strong claims once more but PENGUIN ISLAND could have more to come this year and is tentatively preferred.

MARMARA STAR was a ready winner on her handicap bow over C&D in January and George Boughey's filly is likely to take some stopping off only 6lb higher. Peaceful Night was beaten less than a length into the runner-up berth at Nottingham earlier in the month and she too should have more to offer. Cariad may appreciate the return to this stiffer test and could easily put a Lingfield disappointment behind her now eased slightly in class.

MARMARA STAR got off the mark with a bit to spare here in January and can strike again. Peaceful Night made a pleasing return at Nottingham and could go well again. Hourless starts out in handicaps from a low base and is one to note.

Peaceful Night ran well on her handicap debut but MARMARA STAR may be able to make it 2-2 over C&D and in handicaps.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A return to an artificial surface can help WELL PREPARED bounce back from a disappointing run at Bath. He competes off the same mark as when last successful in handicap company, and notched up a classified stakes brace when striking here and at Chelmsford earlier in the year. Captain Pugwash was only narrowly denied at Lingfield and can make his presence felt on his return to handicapping, while Crazy Spin looks the pick of the remainder.

WELL PREPARED was disappointing on turf last time but he'd been in good order on synthetics prior to that and he's fancied to resume winning ways with Oisin Murphy booked. Captain Pugwash is respected after a solid showing at Lingfield and Young Winston can't be dismissed.

Well Prepared is the solid option but DARK COMPANY may be able to exploit this drop in grade.

20:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CARLOS FELIX made an excellent return to action when keeping on to reward those who took a short price about him over this trip at Southwell, and a 5lb raised mark looks unlikely to hold him back here. He does have to shoulder top weight, though, so Bristol Hill can give him plenty to think about back up in trip following a fair second over 1m3f at the Nottinghamshire venue. Scarborough Castle adds further spice to the mix.

CARLOS FELIX landed a gamble off a much-reduced mark at Southwell recently and still looks very well treated on old form, so he's a straightforward selection under Oisin Murphy. Bristol Hill produced another solid showing at the same course last time and ranks as the main threat, while Scarborough Castle can't be dismissed.

The choice is CARLOS FELIX (nap) who can follow up his Southwell reappearance success. A 5lb rise still leaves him favourably treated.
