There was plenty of encouragement to be taken from DEXTERITY's Rules/hurdles bow when runner-up at Perth last month. That experience should stand Olly Murphy's inmate in good stead going forwards and a breakthrough victory could be on the cards. Carlisle second Impatient is also open to improvement on his return to action after a 202-day layoff, with a subsequent wind procedure likely to aid the six-year-old's cause, while Typhoon Flyer should appreciate the rise in distance.

It took a while for connections to get DEXTERITY back to the track following his runner-up effort in a point but he displayed plenty of ability at Perth 3 weeks ago. Likely to build on that for his in-form yard, he looks the way to go. Impatient is probably the main danger of those with hurdles form, while Typhoon Flyer and Devon Dude warrant respect given their bumper form.

Top of the list is DEXTERITY, who returned form a long absence with a promising second on his hurdling debut at Perth last month.

A subsequent wind procedure since KLONDIKE's disappointing last-placed finish in the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer at Newbury in August could unlock some improvement in William Haggas' lightly-raced colt. The son of Galileo enters handicaps off what looks a workable mark, particularly if judged on his fourth in the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket the month before. The biggest threat may emerge from easy Epsom scorer Crystal Delight, while a gelding operation may see Marhaba The Champ bounce back to form.

CRYSTAL DELIGHT justified good support when emphatically making his first start for Harry Eustace a winning one at Epsom 3 weeks ago, and with the step back up in trip holding no fears, there's every chance we've not yet seen the best of him for his new yard. Marhaba The Champ is 2-2 on the Knavesmire and is respected on his return (won first time up last term). Kihavah and Klondike are others worth a second look.

Flash Bardot and Two Brothers would top the list if the ground is softer than good. If it isn't, it will be MARHABA THE CHAMP.

Last-time-out Huntingdon scorer Totterdown showed that he's still very much capable when denying a subsequent winner on that occasion. However, the combination of a 5lb rise in the ratings and quicker ground conditions could prove the veteran's undoing, with handicap-debutant MANUELITO making most appeal. A mark of 113 for last month's maiden hurdle success at Wincanton looks more than fair and there should be more to come from the son of Cracksman. Triple C&D victor John Betjeman must also enter calculations.

KANSAS DU BERLAIS has got back on track since undergoing a wind op/fitted with a hood and he is taken to register his first success in handicap company. Bucephalus has to be feared on the back of his solid effort at Bangor, while the consistent John Betjeman and handicap-debutant Manuelito are others to consider.

Plenty have possibilities but David Pipe's 4yo MANUELITO gets the vote ahead of Kansas Du Berlais and Bucephalus.

CHAIRMANOFTHEBOARD could be worth chancing. The eight-year-old retains plenty of his old ability, as evidenced by his recent placed effort on the Rowley course at Newmarket, and a similar performance might prove sufficient. Summerghand could go well too judged on his eye-catching Newmarket performance last month, while Mr Wagyu is a two-time C&D winner and must be respected on the back of his close-up second at Ripon on his seasonal debut 18 days ago.

LETHAL LEVI, who left the impression the run was needed earlier this month, should be bang there back sprinting. Chairmanoftheboard, Mr Wagyu and Magical Spirit are a handful of others to consider in what looks a wide-open sprint.

Top of the list is last year's third MAGICAL SPIRIT (nap), who won with something to spare at Doncaster on his reappearance.

Although ROBBER'S BRIDGE was unable to land a double at Wincanton last month, the six-year-old lost little in defeat that day. A 3lb higher rating looks more than workable for Simon Earle's gelding and compensation could await. Shuil Ceoil hasn't always looked the most straightforward of rides, but Neil Mulholland's charge is feared most on the back of his runner-up effort at Chepstow, while the unexposed Long Draw could also have a say if jumping with more fluency.

The Paul Nicholls-trained PENTIRE HEAD is given a chance to build on his latest Taunton second with a tongue tie added to his blinkers now. Activist, Jubilee Gold and unexposed pair Long Daw and Queen Antoinette head the many dangers in this wide-open handicap.

This looks wide open but ROBBER'S BRIDGE went very close in his bid for a Wincanton double last month and he gets the vote.

This could be fought out between those at the foot of the weights in AZURE BLUE and Swingalong, with the Michael Dods-trained mare edging the vote. Although the five-year-old found the July Cup beyond her last season, she remains one to follow in 2024. The aforementioned Swingalong was far from disgraced on her final effort in 2023 when finishing fourth in the Ascot Champions Sprint Stakes and she merits respect, while a race-fit Spycatcher is sure to have his supporters too.

A seriously competitive renewal with the narrow vote in favour of last year's heroine AZURE BLUE. Absent since finishing below her best in last season's July Cup, the manner of her victory in this race previously was most impressive and she could just be worth chancing to dispel an absence. Swingalong, the only other filly in this line up, is a danger, along with Abernant 1-2 Washington Heights and Mill Stream. Spycatcher and Montassib complete the shortlist.

There may well be further progress to come from SWINGALONG, who is first choice ahead of Mill Stream and Azure Blue.

Hurricane Danny has yet to get it together in handicap company but he still has potential, while Stringtoyourbow ran his best race for some time when third at Fakenham over the larger obstacles in March. The verdict, though, is for HOBB'S DELIGHT, who has improved considerably since going handicapping and could still be well treated off 92. The race he won at Southwell in February has worked out well and the booking of Harry Cobden screams confidence.

A few in with a squeak but STRINGTOYOURBOW looks an interesting runner back over the smaller obstacles from a much-reduced mark so he's afforded the vote ahead of Hobb's Delight, who was a shade fortunate to make it 2 wins from his last 3 starts at Southwell in February but remains lightly raced for his age. Hurricane Danny looks set for third.

Preference is for the lightly raced 8yo HOBB'S DELIGHT, who is 2-3 in handicaps and could find more progress back from a break.

FRIENDLY SOUL showed a good cruising speed to win over a mile at Kempton as juvenile and eclipsed that performance when she stepped up in both class and trip to land the Pretty Polly at Newmarket 10 days ago. With her stamina proven, the Kingman filly is preferred over Fillies' Mile fourth Classical Song, who like her stablemate La Pasionaria, is an Oaks entrant with improvement to find now she steps up in distance.

FRIENDLY SOUL looked a most exciting prospect when taking the listed Pretty Polly on her Newmarket reappearance and can stretch her unbeaten record to 3 assuming this doesn't come too soon only 10 days on. Francophone should have more to come on the back of her 1m Southwell handicap success, particularly now stepping up in trip, and can provide the chief threat ahead of Classical Song.

The Gosden stable is the very much the first place to turn to for a Musidora winner and their FRIENDLY SOUL is the clear form pick.

A disappointing favourite on his handicap debut at Stratford last month, AVADA KEDAVRA could be a different proposition now stepped up to three miles, being a son of Milan. A mark of 100 still looks manageable and he is preferred to the Lingfield runner-up Bataillon, and I'm A Starman, who has won twice at Plumpton already this year. New Found Fame and Spitalfield are entitled to be thereabouts as well.

AVADA KEDARVA failed to justify support making his handicap debut at Stratford 24 days ago but it's far too soon to be writing off Nicky Henderson's charge now quickly upped in trip and he's worth another chance given his low-mileage profile. Crossing The Bar and Bataillon are others to consider, with Spitalfield not out of things either if brushing up his jumping.

With the new trip a possible plus, BATAILLON could well open his account. Crossing The Bar is second choice.

After a brace of wins on the all-weather, FIRE DEMON rates a key player back on turf over this trip, especially with his yard in fine form just now. Allied to that, Oisin Murphy is currently riding at the top of his game and his presence in the saddle is a major plus as the son of Dark Angel bids to defy a further 6lb rise. There are dangers aplenty, though, as the likes of Elmonjed, Respectful and True Promise are all likely improvers.

ELMONJED confirmed himself a useful prospect when supplementing his Lingfield debut success at Haydock (6f) 8 months ago and, very much the type to progress further now upped in trip for handicap debut, he looks a sound player for his leading yard. Ziggy's Condor is also expected to do better again as a 3-y-o and is feared along with Fire Demon who has gone from strength-to-strength on AW in recent months. True Promise is another respected on turf/handicap bow.

Stablemates ZIGGY'S CONDOR and Quiet Resolve are solid contenders for a trainer who had the first two in this race six years ago.

Whereas many arrive here under a bit of a cloud, SILVER IN DISGUISE produced his best effort of the year thus far when scoring gamely over 3m2f at Chepstow last month. He hasn't been the most consistent in the past but should remain competitive off a 5lb higher mark if arriving in the same determined mood. Lightonthewing steps up in class and races from 1lb out of the handicap, but he has strung a number of solid efforts together and gets in here off a light weight. Gats And Co and Coconut Splash are other names to note.

GATS AND CO has returned to form lately and he's on a winning mark based on past efforts, so he looks the most solid option in a race that lacks depth. Recent Chepstow winner Silver In Disguise is an obvious player and Coconut Splash needs considering for all that he's a long time without a win.

The vote goes to SILVER IN DISGUISE (nap), who is a thorough stayer and rallied well when scoring at Chepstow last month.
Class & Speed Card

A highly encouraging second on his debut at Musselburgh last month in a contest where the third has come out and scored since, the well-bred STATION X is open to plenty of improvement for the in-form Bryan Smart team. King Of Light has similar claims on the back of a promising third at Windsor where he was sent off favourite, while Francisco's Piece and Zabeel Road both have penalties to overcome for comfortable first-time-out successes.

Kevin Ryan has won the last 2 renewals of this and is represented by newcomers AGAINST THE WIND and American Style. The former is an early foal and is very much bred to be a sharp 2-y-o, so he gets the vote. Debut-winners Francisco's Piece and Zabeel Road have to command respect, whth Station X also of interest following a pleasing start at Musselburgh.

The strongest form contenders are STATION X (narrowly preferred) and Francisco's Piece. Shadow Army is an interesting newcomer.

VOODOO RAY has won cosily at Brighton the last twice and his latest effort, over 7f, can be upgraded having reportedly lost a shoe. Cutting back in trip shouldn't bother him and he looks the one to beat, despite shouldering a 5lb penalty. My Kind Of Girl was only three-parts of a length behind the selection on her latest outing and is respected, as is Midnight Flame. However, Sisters In The Sky rates the biggest threat following his staying-on third over 5f here.

VOODOO RAY has returned in fine form, landing each of his last 2 starts at Brighton up to 7f, and he's fancied to handle this drop back in trip and make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick under a penalty. Sisters In The Sky and My Kind of Girl are others to consider, whilst Bluebells Boy is another who needs monitoring back on turf.

Having showed he acts around here when keeping on nicely over the bare 5f last week, SISTERS IN THE SKY is the call.

Ballyrashane has done little wrong in three starts so far this year and he is likely to be on the premises once again, while Dynamite Kentucky has a definite chance lining up off the same mark as when second on his comeback run at Hexham. However, receiving weight off both, and in grand old form at the moment, veteran performer HIGGS gets the nod. He certainly wasn't winning out of turn at Uttoxeter, following runner-up efforts at the same venue and over this C&D, and a 5lb rise in the ratings looks fair.

Having shown fair form sent chasing in 2022/23, DYNAMITE KENTUCKY proved that he retains his ability when runner-up at Hexham 23 days ago and he can build on that effort to gain a first success in this sphere. Ballyrashane has been going the right way over fences and isn't taken lightly, with Aeronisi completing the shortlist.

The pick is AERONISI, who was out of form on slow ground at the end of last season but can do much better on the drying surface here.
Class & Speed Card

REDSHORE CITY flopped when favourite over C&D earlier in the month and is far from advantaged by these weights, but has an each-way chance. He had a wide draw and just couldn't get into that Sligo sprint, but goes to work from stall four. He is better judged on his penultimate effort when beating a big field at the Curragh. Eruption has to be respected as she finished ahead of Redshore City in third in that aforementioned race and, as that was her first run for more than six months, improvement should be forthcoming. Sadiqaa was in front of Eruption in second and ran a cracker to be pipped by a head, but has a much tougher draw now.

ONE FOR MUM disappointed on her latest outing in a big field Curragh handicap 24 days ago but the pick of her 3-y-o form gives her sound claims in a race lacking depth and the application of first-time blinkers could well put an extra edge on her here. Lockdown and the returning Nearly A Gonna are others to consider. Sadiqaa arrives on the back of a good effort which could also count for plenty here.

It could pay to side with SADIQAA, who appeared an unlucky loser of a C&D handicap 10 days ago

WAHRAAN caught the eye on his third run for these connections at Windsor, losing plenty of ground early due to a tardy start before staying on well for third. The son of Le Havre has dropped 4lb below his last winning mark and he gets the vote ahead of recent Lingfield second Dancing In Paris and Newcastle winner Bringbackmemories, who ran well over C&D last July. Asgard's Captain and Burglar's Dream cannot be ruled out either.

This looks more open than many of the recent editions of this handicap and THUNDERING is worth chancing. He admittedly struggled for the most part last term but his Ayr success in September served as a reminder of his ability and this will be his first run in 0-85 company since winning at Newcastle in June 2022. Dancing In Paris is greatly respected on the back of his fine effort at Lingfield on Saturday and he is next on the list ahead of Arrange, Bringbackmemories and Burglar's Dream.

On good ground, BRINGBACKMEMORIES tops the list, while Bustaam can go well if it's soft.

SALVATOR MUNDI was one of the big talking horses ahead of the Cheltenham Festival due to his sole run in France when chasing home the talented Sir Gino in April 2023. Connections rolled the dice to run in the Triumph where he eventually finished sixth and that experience is unlikely to be lost on Willie Mullins' gelding. Park That shaped with promise on his debut when third at Cork, while Love Me completes the shortlist following her Limerick fourth last month.

It's impossible to ignore the claims of SALVATOR MUNDI, who shaped promisingly when sixth in the Triumph at the Cheltenham Festival on only his second start (and first for Willie Mullins) and sets the bar very high with his sights lowered considerably. Park That produced a promising first effort when third at Cork at the end of March and can edge out Love Me for the forecast spot.

Having been a talking horse all winter before finishing sixth in the Triumph, this should be a formality for SALVATOR MUNDI

Spirited Dancer sets the standard on her debut second at Kempton but she was disappointing over 5f here last time. Therefore, it looks best to concentrate on the newcomers, with KARL CARLSTON appealing most. He is a half-brother to a couple of winners and represents connections that enjoy plenty of juvenile success. Tom Dascombe saddled an impressive two-year-old winner at Chester last week and his High On Hope is shortlisted, along with Steamboat and Candy.

This looks destined for one of the newcomers, with several appealing types on show. HIGH ON HOPE is bred to go a bit and he is the suggestion ahead of Karl Carlston and Steamboat, while Candy and Profit Rockit both need a second look in the betting, too.

Without having the betting to guide, newcomers CANDY, High On Hope and Steamboat are nominated in that order of preference.

With rain expected in Sligo, VICTOR'S CHOICE is taken to add to her Gowran Park victory. She sluiced up by five and a half lengths last week and reappears under the 7lb penalty. That victory came over further and previous efforts over sprint trips have been unconvincing, but she loves cut in the ground. Layoftheland has been much better in her two races this season, when putting in good late work, and should be involved. Sophia Klimt stayed on for fifth in Navan and could get closer, while Dark Enigma would be a player if she handles the slower ground.

Though dropping back to 6f probably won't be entirely ideal, VICTOR'S CHOICE is still much the most likely winner on the back of her clear-cut Gowran success last week. Indeed, she will surely prove hard to beat under a penalty. Layoftheland and Dark Enigma can fill the places.

The penalised Victor's Choice has a big chance in theory. However, LAYOFTHELAND, a slow starter at Navan, may take her measure

Trained by Lucinda Russell, BISHOP HILL should take all of the beating. The five-year-old has already shown an aptitude for hurdling and was last seen running well to finish a neck second over C&D last month, when she only found her stablemate Fox's Fancy too good. Granted further improvement, she has every chance of going one place better. Love That could turn out to be the main danger, providing she is none the worse for her late fall at Ayr last time out, having previously shaped well when she finished third on her stable debut at the same venue in March. Hurdle debutant Bleu Lagune could prove best of the remainder.

BISHOP HILL stuck to her task very well when runner-up again over C&D 3 weeks ago and a deserved first success looks on the cards. Wednesday Addams won a bumper and has to be a threat kept to her own sex now hurdling, while support for Irish-raider Bleu Lagune on debut should be noted.

Having improved since stepping up to 2m4f, BISHOP HILL is the one to beat. Promising bumper mare Wednesday Addams is next best.
Class & Speed Card

LADY ROSE HACKETT boasts an excellent pedigree, being out of the classy Amaretto Rose, and she is taken to leave behind her Rules debut when fifth in a Thurles bumper in February. Lucy Wang's second at Leopardstown over Christmas worked out to be a decent piece of form and she has had excuses in both subsequent runs, slipping up at Naas before finding Listed company too much at Punchestown. Pampar Lady and Rockstown Girl head the remainder.

Gavin Cromwell has his team in good form and PAMPAR LADY might be able to provide him with another winner on the back of her promising second at Tramore last month. Lucy Wang could pose the chief threat if recapturing the level of her Leopardstown second over Christmas. Lady Rose Hackett was only fifth on her bumper debut but there was strength behind her in the betting on that occasion and this point winner retains potential now hurdling.

Back in trip against fellow mares, MI LUCKY CAILIN might get her turn over hurdles having been runner-up three times in maidens
Class & Speed Card

There is only 3lb splitting Ghaihaban (79) and Painite (76) on official ratings and neither would be a surprise winner here, but a chance is taken on well-bred newcomer ARABIAN ROSE. A 230,000gns purchase as a yearling, she is a half-sister to Listed scorer Grande Dame and it will be disappointing if she is unable to play a leading role in a race of this nature. Miss Kubelik may handle this track better than Newmarket and she cannot be ruled out either.

The superbly-bred IMITATE can be expected to leave the form of her 2-y-o debut well behind and she gets the nod. Newcomer Arabian Rose looks the part on paper and she will be particularly interesting if strong in the betting, while Ghaihaban is likely to be on the premises. The selection's stablemate Islanova, Hey Big Spender and Ravishing Beauty should all improve but Painite's limitations have seemingly been exposed.

Three have fair form and two newcomers must be checked out. However, Stoute-trained ISLANOVA may leave her debut form well behind.

Dermot Weld's BROSNA TOWN has to be of interest in this weak maiden as he was only 5/1 for his debut at Thurles in October when he finished eighth. He is a half-brother to a Listed winner and Weld's stable has really got going in the last three weeks. Imarajan showed improvement to finish fifth over a similar trip in Cork and is race-fit. A half-brother of this colt was good enough to win a heavy-ground maiden in Cork on his way to a mark of 90. Plenty of headgear is reached for on Celestial Reign, but he is a brother to a Group 3 winner and a potential improver on his second start.

CASTLEHEATH showed plenty when mid-field it what is traditionally a reasonable maiden at Navan 3 weeks ago and that sets the clear standard with the promise of more to come. Imarajan is capable of better after just two starts and is feared most.

A maiden which shouldn't take much winning and a good opportunity for IMARAJAN, whose recent Cork run could well be good enough

After shaping with promise when finishing second on his hurdling debut at Kelso over 2m on heavy ground, GALUNGGUNG battled to a narrow success over the same distance at Hexham next time out before doubling his tally over timber 25 days ago at Bangor by three and a quarter lengths when stepped up to 2m3f. Donald McCain's charge should be hard to beat in his hat-trick bid on his chase debut. Former C&D winners Well Planted and Garde Des Champs are feared most.

GALUNGGUNG is making up for lost time this spring and this former point scorer can add to his 2 recent hurdle wins. Recent Sedgefield third Libby might be the one to give Donald McCain's charge most to do if a visor continues to have a positive effect.

Lightly raced for his age, Irish point winner GALUNGGUNG has the greatest potential of these. Well Planted can chase him home.

The application of cheekpieces made the difference to get MOREPOWERTOYA back to winning ways over C&D last month and an 8lb rise might not be enough to stop him from going in again. The Niffler has to be of interest despite the fact he may be better suited by running over a little bit further, while others to note include Red Glory and Wee Charlie.

RED GLORY is taken to build on his Naas handicap hurdle debut third and strike for the Henry de Bromhead/Rachael Blackmore combination. The Niffler arrives at the top of his game and is feared most ahead of last month's C&D scorer Morepowertoya.

The one to beat is last month's convincing C&D winner MOREPOWERTOYA(nap) despite his 8lb higher mark

HATADORA returned to winning ways over a mile at Windsor a couple of weeks ago and accounted for a subsequent winner in the process. With that in mind, Richard Hannon's filly merits the utmost respect here off just a 3lb higher mark. The switch to handicap company should help More Than A Feelin and she should not be underestimated, while Mbappe and Garden View also make the shortlist.

MBAPPE swooped late to score over 7f at Kempton on his first outing for the Mark Loughnane yard and might be able to defy a 3 lb rise with the step up to 1m likely to suit him. Mark Usher's Garden View is another who should be suited by moving up to 1m and is second choice ahead of Windsor-scorer Hatadora and the unexposed Sunny Corner.

Richard Hannon's HATADORA (nap) pulled clear with a next-time-out winner when scoring at Windsor 16 days ago and can defy a 3lb rise.

BUTTER FINGERS kept on steadily when sixth over a mile on handicap debut at Gowran last week. Stepping up in trip will suit this May foal, who is likely to progress as the year goes on as was the case with his brother Rough And Tough, a dual winner for the Mulvany yard last October. Miami Sunshine, almost six lengths ahead of the selection when third in that Gowran contest, has an obvious chance but the outcome may be different over this longer trip. Four of these enter handicap company for the first time and Newfire, whose sister Lamprog did well for Ray Cody in similar contests a couple of years ago, is of interest despite a nine month layoff.

The vote goes to MIAMI SUNSHINE, who put in a good shift when runner-up on her seasonal reappearance at Gowran last week and this stiffer test could be just the ticket. Copie Conforme makes her handicap debut at a realistic level and she is the clear main danger. Rogerwaswrong is best of the rest.

An eyecatcher at Gowran a week ago, this longer trip and better ground could be just what MIAMI SUNSHINE (nap) needs

Plenty to consider in a wide-open race. However, BOLLIN MATILDA improved beyond all recognition last month when recording back-to-back victories in the space of 11 days, with wins at Newcastle and here. The handicapper has raised her mark by 7lb for the latest of those wins, but she is improving at a rate of knots and the hat-trick might well be on the cards. Artic Mann is generally consistent and should again be thereabouts, while the top-weight Olivers Travels is worth a second look.

JEM IN EM did well in the circumstances when fourth at Musselburgh last month, faring best of those from off the pace, and he can return to winning ways as he drops back in grade. Bollin Matilda progressed again when successful here on her latest outing and is feared most in her hat-tick bid, ahead of Rickety Gate.

In a tricky race ATOMIC ANGEL is taken to follow up last month's Hexham win. Bollin Matilda should also go well.

A tentative vote goes to HELICON, who travelled well before being outpaced and keeping on for fifth in a Tramore maiden last time. The second came out and won easily at Killarney on Sunday and a mark of 97 looks manageable on his handicap debut, so the son of Ocovango is preferred to the unexposed Oakley and Smallcraftwarning, who has strong claims on his success at Thurles two starts ago. Contrapposto, Fairytale New York and Shopping Around complete the shortlist.

Both OAKLEY and Fairytale New York represent shred yards and a much-improved showing now handicapping could easily be on the cards. Marginal preference is for the former before market cluesgiven there's substance to his Flat form. Garcon Doux is more established and is expected to figure.

A sporting vote goes to OAKLEY, a winner on the Flat who ran okay in a Naas maiden hurdle last time

HILL SPIRIT put in a career best on the Flat when fourth on his handicap debut at Brighton last week and it would be no surprise to see him go well here on the back of that performance. Irezumi has been running creditably in defeat of late and is likely to be in the mix once again, while similar comments apply to My Sand Boy and Dee's Dream.

PAK ARMY scored over C&D on his return to the Flat last season and, having turned in a respectable effort over hurdles at Taunton 3 weeks ago, he's fancied to follow suit this year. Hill Spirit is one of few others to arrive on the back of a creditable effort and he's still unexposed in this sphere, while Hurtle should benefit from the refitting of cheekpieces, so they're both considered.

Hurdle winner HILL SPIRIT shaped better in this code last time and the addition of cheekpieces may be the key to success.

CARLO BIANCONI, a beaten favourite in all three maiden outings, may have a class edge against these rivals on handicap debut. His first two runs resulted in creditable silver medal finishes and 1m4f may have been too far last time. Back to a more suitable trip with headgear fitted, the Galway gelding can get off the mark. Fiver Friday, trained in Co Antrim, has made regular and profitable visits to Scotland since last summer and is up 6lb for last month's win at Ayr. Red Ball Of Fire, whose three hurdle wins have come here, is always one to note at her local track. Third in this race last year, she has a run under her belt this time around.

PINBALL WIZARD did well under the circumstances when third over a mile at Cork last time and, with this step back up in trip a good move, he looks the way to go. If on-song Gunsight would have a serious chance and handicap debutant Carlo Bianconi is also shortlisted.

The very experienced PINBALL WIZARD met trouble in running at Cork and may now gain compensation. Carlo Bianconi is a big danger.

James Bowen has an exceptional 24 per cent strike-rate at this course in the last five seasons, with eight winners from 33 rides, and he has a decent chance of adding to his impressive record here aboard EASY BUCKS. Peter Bowen's nine-year-old is back down to his last winning mark (100), when successful over this C&D in September 2022, and he could take a bit of stopping now returned to better ground. Recent Hexham second Cowboy Cooper might emerge as the biggest danger, while Euchan Falls could do best of the rest.

WATCHOUTITSCOOKIE has shaped better than the bare result indicates on both chase outings and, with a fully-fledged rider back on board, he could be capable of much better, so he gets the nod over Euchan Falls, who ran well over hurdles here last time. Cowboy Cooper is another one to consider.

A chance is taken on EASY BUCKS, who ran well for a long way back over hurdles here last time. Euchan Falls should also run well.

Thrown in at the deep end on his hurdles bow at Punchestown in Grade 1 company, BACKMERSACKME shaped well for a long way before a mistake two out put paid to his chances. This represents a significant drop in grade for the point-to-point winner and he should have too much for the returning Pray Tell, who has not been in action since a strong runner-up effort at Cork over 3m1f last May. Cadoudal Saint looks like one who will improve for going up in trip, while the consistent Driscolls Hill is capable of being in the shake-up again.

Having won a bumper on Rules debut, BACKMERSACKME shaped well pitched into a Grade 1 at Punchestown on hurdles debut and he'll take some stopping eased markedly in class. Cadoudal Saint has more to offer and is feared most, ahead of Pray Tell.

It would be a surprise if Cork bumper winner BACKMERSACKME could not win this after contesting a Grade 1 at Punchestown last time

BOBBY KENNEDY bumped into a well-handicapped rival when second over this course and distance last month and a reproduction of that level of form could see him go one better here. Asense was back in fourth on that occasion and has to be of some interest as a result. Highland Flyer failed to fire on his seasonal return but it is far too soon to be writing him off.

BOBBY KENNEDY is well capable from this sort of mark and he simply bumped into one when second over C&D on return. That rival has gone in again since, so he's worth a chance to go one better at the possible expense of Asense, who was two places behind the selection that day. Virtual Hug is also considered.

The vote goes to BOBBY KENNEDY, who's run some of his best races here in the spring, including on his comeback. Asense is next best.

You'll never go too far wrong if following Andy Oliver's runners at Sligo and the Tyrone handler can strike here with WISDOMOFHINDSIGHT. The gelded son of Bobby's Kitten was appearing for only the second time when placed in a big field at the Curragh and a couple of those in behind have won since. The four-year-old should come on for that seasonal debut over a mile and will appreciate this longer trip. Intellotto, a smart juvenile hurdler and twice runner-up on the level, is rated 87 and will certainly take plenty of beating. Firebrand, another that has been hurdling lately, didn't see out 1m4f when fourth at Gowran and this drop in trip looks a good move.

This looks ripe for INTELLOTTO, who hasn't been seen out in this sphere since finishing second in a Cork maiden last spring but he has subsequently won two of his four starts over hurdles. Joseph O'Brien's charge is likely to prove a class apart here. Wisdomofhindsight finished a creditable third at the Curragh last time and he is third choice ahead of likely improver Marirah.

Smart juvenile hurdler INTELLOTTO sets a good standard with his two hurdling wins and two Flat seconds.

SUPER CITIZEN won on his penultimate Rules outing at Kelso in January before struggling to land a blow behind subsequent Cheltenham Festival heroine Sine Nomine at Wetherby. He since bounced back with a 25-length success in the pointing sphere and the 10-year-old should have too much for these rivals. Shanroe Street is likely to be the main threat, with Fine Investment best of the remaining pair.

SHANROE STREET still has plenty of life left in him at the age of 14 and he's fancied to make it back-to-back wins in this race with opposition thin on the ground. Super Citizen is the main danger on form but has more to prove than the selection.

Preference is for FINE INVESTMENT, who was in the mix when unseating four out at Cheltenham recently.

KING KALI took a big step forward when a narrow second over 2m3f at Naas last time and the unexposed eight-year-old could be hard to beat off a 3lb higher mark here. Miss Vivacious also hit the crossbar on her most recent outing and may prove to be the main threat to the selection, ahead of My Friend The Wind and Solly Attwell.

This is competitive but SOLLY ATTWELL was really strong at the line when third over 23f at Downpatrick 3 weeks ago and totally unexposed as a stayer, he makes as much appeal as of these. King Kali may also have more to offer at 3m and is second choice, with Miss Vivacious likely to give it another good go.

Second over 2m3f at Naas when backed into favouritism, KING KALI is clearly well handicapped and is chosen in the hope that he stays

OUR PAPA SMURF (second) finished ahead of Makuri (third) when returning at Brighton at the end of last month and it wouldn't be a surprise to see the former uphold that form, especially given the latter already had a run under her belt on the all-weather. By Farhh The Best has shown some promise in three runs to date and stepping up in trip may yield a considerable amount of improvement now entering handicap company.

Preference is for RASMAH, who looks to be being brought along gradually and Archie Watson's filly can build on her recent handicap/turf debut sixth at Brighton just over a fortnight ago at the expense of Our Papa Smurf, who ran his best race returning from 6 months off when finishing runner-up in that same contest. Thrilling Dream and Magic Rascal are both surely capable of more than they've shown so far, and they round off the shortlist.

This can go to OUR PAPA SMURF, who had four of these behind at Brighton and can defy a 3lb rise.

Joseph O'Brien runs two and ALONZO is preferred after an encouraging return to action over 1m4f at Cork. Well backed when fourth on that occasion, the Frankel colt finished half a length behind third home Highbury, who bolted up at Leopardstown on Sunday. It looks strong form in the context of a very winnable maiden. Stablemate Bladon, trained by Kevin Coleman when beaten five lengths in a decent contest at Killarney last summer, is fitted with headgear and takes a big step up in trip on seasonal debut. Man Of Worth, a son of Sea The Stars from a classy and stout Moyglare family, didn't show much in a back-end maiden at Gowran but should be capable of better.

BLADON shaped with encouragement at a big price on debut 10 months ago and, while not seen since, he's joined a top stable since and has the potential for much better, so he's marginally preferred to stablemate Alonzo, who sets the standard on what's been achieved to this point. Evans Secret should typically give his running but may come up short for ability.

Joseph O'Brien's team has suffered recent reverses but ALONZO will be hard to beat if building on his recent fourth at Cork.

BRIDGETJOANS has stepped forward on her last couple of starts with a brace of runner-up efforts at Catterick in February and when only denied by a neck at Kelso last month. A 3lb rise seems more than fair and Simon Waugh's mare gets the vote to shed her maiden tag. Not In Kansas improved plenty to score at Musselburgh and she is respected, along with the returning Bridge Road.

BRIDGETJOANS has shown improved form fitted with a visor when runner-up on her last 2 starts, finishing clear of the rest at Kelso a month ago, so she could be ready to open her account this time around. Heading the list of dangers is Not In Kansas, who got off the mark on her latest outing, with The Best Way also considered on his handicap debut.

Preference is for the lightly raced 7yo NOT IN KANSAS (nap), who returned from a lengthy absence with a stylish win at Musselburgh.

BALLYGUNNER CASTLE confirmed the promise that he displayed on debut when winning easily at Limerick a month ago and Willie Mullins' gelding is very hard to oppose on the back of that performance. Angelo Dundee was well held at Punchestown last time but is a player based on his win at the same venue last year, while Red Hugh and Big Dispute also merit places on the shortlist.

BALLYGUNNER readily opened his account at Limerick last time and a penalty probably won't be enough to stop him going in again. Red Hugh is worth a chance to improve given how short he was sent off on Rules debut and Angelo Dundee is a player if back to the form he showed first time out.

Preference is for ANGELO DUNDEE, a fine winner at Punchestown last year and likely to be much more forward after his run there last time

GRAFFITI has enjoyed a consistent spell on the all-weather during the winter months and the five-year-old, who won on turf at Nottingham last June, appears to have been found a solid opportunity to get his head back in front. Golden Phase's sole victory came here in August and she may benefit from stepping up in trip after running well enough on her seasonal reappearance here. Others for the shortlist include The Bay Warrior and Showy.

Plenty in with a shout in the finale, including GOLDEN PHASE who ought to strip fitter for her return over 1m here 26 days ago and she remains unexposed at this sort of trip. Snapcracklepop, Graffiti and Trojan Truth head up the dangers.

Having returned with a pleasing fourth and with tonight's extra yardage sure to suit, SNAPCRACKLEPOP is the selection.
Ths is the racecard key.
