1st (7) (3/1 +54%)Bobby Mcgee |
3/1(+54%) | (7) Bobby Mcgee 3/1, Needed every yard up in trip at stiff track when winning a handicap here by a short-head last time; top course jockey; effective 7-8f, acts on soft and good; very smart and looks well handicapped, unexposed at 1m. Promise at two, 2-2 this season, C&D handicap win latest, another big step forward needed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (14/1 -40%)Victory Tip |
14/1(-40%) | (6) Victory Tip 14/1, Looked outclassed though may not have stayed 10f down the field in Ballysax Stakes (Group 3) at Leopardstown most recent; stays 1m, will get further, acts on heavy; testing conditions may suit best. Beat Shaftesbury Avenue on debut, last in Ballysax Stakes, must rebound back in trip. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/2 +0%)Latin America |
9/2(+0%) | (2) Latin America 9/2, Ran to form when winning an auction race at Navan by 2 1/4l last time; stays 10f, probably get further, acts on heavy; quite taking debut which has been boosted and should progress again but drop in trip may not be ideal. Off the mark on second start at Navan (1m2f), drop back to 1m a query but in the mix. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (15/2 -114%)Port Ferdinand |
15/2(-114%) | (3) Port Ferdinand 15/2, Improved from debut just flattening out late up in trip, needed run 2 1/4l third in a 3yo race at Cork most recent run; top course trainer; effective 7f at 2yo, gets 10f, middle-distance bred; open to marked improvement this term. 7f maiden win here on debut, 1m2f stretched him latest, Moore prefers stablemate. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (11/2 +39%)Accredited |
11/2(+39%) | (1) Accredited 11/2, Improved from debut relishing stiff track at the trip when winning a maiden here by 2 1/2l last time; top course trainer; off a short-break; effective 7f, acts on soft, AW, will get further; well bred for top yard, more to come. 7f win on soft here on seasonal return, rated 97, deserted by Moore but can't discount. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (2/1 -14%)Shaftesbury Avenue |
2/1(-14%) | (5) Shaftesbury Avenue 2/1, Improved under positive handling in first time cheekpieces when winning a maiden at Navan by 2l last time; top course trainer; effective at 8f on heavy; half-brother to a Grade 1 winner and more to come for top yard, latest form franked. Both starts on heavy, pedigree suggests quick ground will be a huge plus, picked by Moore. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (25/1 -56%)New Radical |
25/1(-56%) | (4) New Radical 25/1, Needed every yard down in trip, improved for debut experience when winning an auction race at Bellewstown by a short-head last time; cheekpieces first time; effective 1m, acts on AW; latest form franed, should progress again. Off the mark by a head at Bellewstown, form boosted, may be more to come; cheekpieces. |

Navan maiden victor LATIN AMERICA can successfully step up in grade here. Sent off odds-on for that second racecourse start, the Johnny Murtagh-trained colt got the job done with the minimum of fuss. While the bare form of that race is nothing special, his second-placed effort at the Curragh on debut in March has worked out extremely well. Granted normal improvement on this third start, he looks the one to beat. Derby entrant Port Ferdinand was beaten in a tactical race on his return at Cork but should be all the better for that outing. Bobby Mcgee shouldn't be ruled out either.

Ryan Moore has chosen to ride SHAFTESBURY AVENUE and the American bred colt could improve exponentially for this quicker ground

1st (3) (4/1 -14%)Trojan Soldier |
4/1(-14%) | (3) Trojan Soldier 4/1, Ran to form benefitting from first time cheekpieces landing a handicap by a nose off a 2lb lower mark at Southwell last time; effective 10-14f on good and AW; progressive, form franked, unexposed as a stayer. Stays 2m and he's a player if transferring this year's AW improvement back to turf. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 +40%)Scottish Dancer |
3/1(+40%) | (1) Scottish Dancer 3/1, Ran to form benefitting from easy lead back on the Flat landing a handicap by a neck off a 2lb lower mark at Thirsk last time; effective 14-16f, wants sound surface; remains on competitive mark. 33-1 outsider of five for Thirsk 1m6f win; back up just 2lb and return to 2m may well suit. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (13/2 +24%)Vaguely Royal |
13/2(+24%) | (5) Vaguely Royal 13/2, Ran to form beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark at Southwell last time; effective 12-16f, acts on good, fast ground and AW; not one to rely on. Has another career-low mark but it's hard to know when he will take advantage. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (7/2 -17%)Rupert The Prince |
7/2(-17%) | (7) Rupert The Prince 7/2, Mistakes, may not have stayed when second beaten 60l in a novice hurdle at Kelso latest; effective 14-16f on Flat; all to prove back hurdling. Fair third over C&D on his only Flat run this year and peak form gives him a good shout. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (11/1 +8%)Elemental Eye |
11/1(+8%) | (6) Elemental Eye 11/1, Again below form back on Flat beaten 6l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; off a short-break; suited by 14f+, acts on soft and good to firm; remains 5lb above last win mark. Cheekpieces return and stepping back up in trip should suit, so he needs a close look. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (11/4 -10%)No More Bolero |
11/4(-10%) | (2) No More Bolero 11/4, Scored by 3 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Bath penultimate start; ran to form second beaten a length off 73 last time, 1lb higher here; effective 14-17f on sound surface; in form in both codes, respected off new mark. Ready winner at Bath (2m1f) and good second over C&D (good) eight days later; player. |

Plenty in with chances in the opener and TROJAN SOLDIER just edges it given he showed his battling qualities to gain a deserved success on the all-weather at Southwell last time. Going back up in trip shouldn't be a problem and he was performing well on turf this time last year, so switching to the grass shouldn't inconvenience him either. Rupert The Prince is a model of consistency and joins Scottish Dancer and No More Bolero on the shortlist.

No More Bolero is second choice but SCOTTISH DANCER could go well again despite the surprise and tactical nature of his Thirsk win.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/3 +33%)Far From Dandy |
10/3(+33%) | (2) Far From Dandy 10/3, Yard won this last year; ran to form beaten 2 1/2l off a 1lb lower mark at Doncaster last time; top course jockey; usually held up; off a short-break; effective 8/9f, acts on heavy, good and AW; good chance in another big handicap here. In fine form and ran a career best when runner-up at Doncaster; big chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

8/1(-23%) | (9) Fast Tara 8/1, Back to best beaten 1/2l off a 1lb lower mark at Limerick last time; effective 7/8f, suited by cut; can go well again. Rallied for a close second last time; should go well again but this ground may not suit. |

10/3(-67%) | (11) Red Charlie 10/3, Scored by 5l off a 18lb lower mark at The Curragh penultimate start; didn't get a run at key stage, flew home, unlucky second beaten a head off 73 last time, 3lb higher here; suited by 7f and plenty of give; won with plenty in hand penultimate start and unlucky last time, big player. Returned from long absence to win at Curragh and almost followed up latest; player. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

5/1(+69%) | (6) Booyea 5/1, Struggled beaten 10l in a handicap at The Curragh last time; trainer in form; effective 7-9f on sound surface; in good form off similar marks but not much room for manoeuvre. Best runs last year came in cheekpieces but that headgear is not applied here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (13) (80/1 -142%)Speckled Meadow |
80/1(-142%) | (13) Speckled Meadow 80/1, May not have stayed, needed run well beaten in Noblesse Stakes (Listed) at Cork latest; effective 8-12f, best with cut; needs more back in a handicap. Four-time h'cap winner; out of depth on return; this more realistic but others preferred. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (14/1 -27%)Daler |
14/1(-27%) | (8) Daler 14/1, Needed run beaten 6l in a handicap at Dundalk last time; off a short-break; effective 7/8f, acts on yielding, good and AW; remains 8lb above last win mark. Just fair efforts since first win on AW in October; could go well back on turf. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Winner on penultimate but struggled off revised mark latest; must resume progress. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (22/1 -83%)Bella Isabella |
22/1(-83%) | (3) Bella Isabella 22/1, Struggled to get involved beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark at Leopardstown last time; effective 7-8f, acts on sound surface; excuses latest, in good form prior to that but absence to overcome. M'den winner ran a decent race in second h'cap in final start last term; needs more. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (16/1 -33%)Final Voyage |
16/1(-33%) | (4) Final Voyage 16/1, Scored by 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Cork penultimate start; outpaced, unsuited by drop in trip seventh beaten 6l off 90 last time, same mark here; effective 8-10f, acts on any including AW; longer trip a plus, could bounce back. Ended long losing sequence at Cork; didn't appreciate drop to 7f latest; others preferred. |

Easy winner on return but follow-up attempt perhaps came too quickly; not discounted. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (11/1 +8%)Senna's Girl |
11/1(+8%) | (12) Senna's Girl 11/1, Ran to form benefitting from first time cheekpieces 3l third in a maiden at Limerick most recent run; effective 7/8f, acts on heavy and good; capable of a good run back in a handicap. 0-14 but has gone close; good runs last twice and not out of it. |

Runner-up in the Spring Mile at Doncaster last time, FAR FROM DANDY can go one place better. The Stephen Thorne-trained gelding had previously run a huge race when staying on late to finish fourth in the Irish Lincoln at the Curragh. Freshened up since that latest run, the four-year-old should be spot on for this assignment. Red Charlie, who suffered a nightmare passage when second over 7f at the Curragh, holds every chance and is noted along with Cork winner Final Voyage.

Running a career best when a runner-up in the Spring Mile at Doncaster, FAR FROM DANDY has strong claims of going one better here

1st (1) (30/100 +48%)Our Guide |
30/100(+48%) | (1) Our Guide 30/100, Improved for debut experience when winning a maiden hurdle at Exeter by 2l last time; effective at 2m on a sound surface; Irish bumper win franked and more to come over hurdles, could defy penalty. Won five-runner Exeter maiden over 2m last month; can improve again over this longer trip. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 -129%)Ka Mate Du Brivet |
4/1(-129%) | (3) Ka Mate Du Brivet 4/1, Mistakes, showed minor promise on debut when second beaten 17l in a novice hurdle at Fontwell latest; off a short-break; effective 2m5f; should improve a little for initial experience. Made a fairly useful rival work quite hard when second (well held in end) on hurdle debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (12/1 +33%)Granite Sands |
12/1(+33%) | (2) Granite Sands 12/1, Green, modest debut comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Hereford last time; trainer in form; acts on good; needs more experience over hurdles. Well beaten when 33-1 for last month's hurdle debut at Hereford (2m3f). |

125/1(+0%) | (6) At Sunrise 125/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Hereford latest; showed little in bumpers or so far over hurdles, all to prove. Pulled up when 300-1 for hurdling debut at Hereford (2m3f) in December. |

150/1(-127%) | (7) Savon 150/1, Yard won this last year; pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las latest where never in the race; lots more needed to figure over hurdles. Pulled up when a big-priced outsider for last month's hurdle debut (2m4f). |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (14/1 -56%)Shuil Rocco |
14/1(-56%) | (4) Shuil Rocco 14/1, Yard won this last year; improved for debut experience when fourth beaten 22l in a novice hurdle at Chepstow latest; effective at 2m4f, acts on good; sort to do better when handicapping. Kept on steadily for modest fourth at Chepstow last month; further progress possible. |

Bumper winner OUR GUIDE took a step forward from his debut fifth over hurdles to land the odds at Exeter last month and is likely to have more to offer. This sizeable step up in trip could unlock any amount of improvement and he will prove tough to beat. Granite Sands was never dangerous when only fifth on his first start over obstacles at Hereford, but he could build on that display to have a say. Ka Mate Du Brivet looks best of the rest.

Ka Mate Du Brivet is respected, but slight preference is for 2m Exeter winner OUR GUIDE who might improve again over this new trip.

6/1(-9%) | (7) The Can Can Queen 6/1, Decent effort made plenty of use of beaten 6l in a novice at Beverley on debut; bred to get 1m when mature; should come on from first run. Finished in front of Fern Clyde at Beverley on debut; 6f should suit; can do better. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (8/11 +47%)Bai Tong |
8/11(+47%) | (1) Bai Tong 8/11, Minor promise beaten 5 1/2l in a novice at Thirsk on debut; wide draw; speedily-bred, sound surfaces will suit action; well fancied on debut and should improve. Beaten at odds-on at Thirsk on debut (5f, good) four weeks ago; surely capable of better. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (15/2 -15%)Eevee Star |
15/2(-15%) | (4) Eevee Star 15/2, 20 Feb; Showcasing filly; half-sister to Y Y Star, poor at 6f; dam smart at 5f at 2yo winning on debut and at Listed level; market can guide. Dam a 5f Listed winner as a 2yo; the only newcomer in the field; betting to guide. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 +38%)Fern Clyde |
10/1(+38%) | (5) Fern Clyde 10/1, Fair debut just pushed out beaten 7 1/4l in a novice at Beverley on debut; top course trainer; half-sister to a pair of good 5/6f 2yo winners; improvement likely but this looks tough. In need of experience when midfield on Beverley debut; open to improvement; yard runs two. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (18/1 -50%)Cheeky Chesca |
18/1(-50%) | (2) Cheeky Chesca 18/1, Outpaced early after poor break but minor promise late beaten 5l in a novice at Redcar on debut; top course trainer; sprint-bred, fast ground should suit action; will do better. Redcar debut effort was quite promising but she'll need a good step forward; yard runs two. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (8/1 +33%)Tricky Jenny |
8/1(+33%) | (8) Tricky Jenny 8/1, Made a lot of use of well beaten in a maiden at Musselburgh only start; sire sprinter, dam stayed a mile; open to improvement. Didn't live up to market billing on Musselburgh debut six weeks ago; can do better at 6f. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (50/1 -25%)Spirit Of Mary |
50/1(-25%) | (6) Spirit Of Mary 50/1, Modest debut beaten 7l in a maiden at Beverley on debut; speed in pedigree; may need more time. Down the field at Beverley on recent debut (33-1); a big step forward is required. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (12/1 -336%)Crimson Blaze |
12/1(-336%) | (3) Crimson Blaze 12/1, Green and hung under pressure beaten 9l in a maiden at Southwell last time; trainer in form; sprint-bred, fast ground will suit action; market has suggested she should be capable of better. Hung left on both starts, including when favourite latest; can do better at some point. |

BAI TONG couldn't land a telling blow on debut at Thirsk but is entitled to have improved from that effort and could be worth another chance for a yard known for having winning juveniles at this time of year. Redcar fifth Cheeky Chesca boasts a similar profile to the selection and is one to note, but the main danger is The Can Can Queen following her creditable Beverley display.

Although she fluffed her lines on debut BAI TONG may be the answer with that experience behind her. The Can Can Queen is next best.

25/1(-56%) | (6) Your Song 25/1, Raced too freely beaten 4l in a maiden at Cork on debut; speedily-bred; big filly, needs to settle better and looks clear stable second string. Weakened into last of six on debut; What A Girl Wants is stable number one. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (3/1 +50%)What A Girl Wants |
3/1(+50%) | (5) What A Girl Wants 3/1, Bit green early, improved for debut experience when second beaten 3 1/2l in First Flier Stakes (Listed) at The Curragh latest; sprint-bred, effective 5f, acts on good and soft; high-class juvenile with good attitude. 1.25l behind Star Prospect on debut and 3lb better off now; 6l ahead of New Yorker latest. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (4/6 +27%)Star Prospect |
4/6(+27%) | (2) Star Prospect 4/6, Quickened takingly to win with something in hand 1 1/4l winner in a 2yo race at The Curragh on debut; speedily-bred, effective 5f, acts on soft, should appreciate better ground; improvement likely and looks a good prospect. ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/2 -120%)New Yorker |
11/2(-120%) | (1) New Yorker 11/2, Yard won this last three runnings of race; too keen in front 9 1/2l third in First Flier Stakes (Listed) at The Curragh most recent run; top course trainer; sprint-bred, effective 5f, acts on AW and good; pleasing debut and should improve if settling. Debut AW winner disappointed as 4-7 fav' last time when What A Girl Wants was 6l in front. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (14/1 -56%)Pala Aurelia |
14/1(-56%) | (4) Pala Aurelia 14/1, 10 Apr; 230,000gns breeze-up purchase by St Mark's Basilica; half-sister to Wargrave, smart at 9f; dam very smart from 5f to 6f; stable can get them ready first time but this a big ask. St Mark's Basilica filly; 230,000gns 2yo is half-sister to five winners; check market. |

STAR PROSPECT had What A Girl Wants back in third when making a winning debut at the Curragh. The Starman colt had to come between horses to launch his challenge and should benefit from that experience, while connections are happy to keep him at the minimum distance for the time being. What A Girl Wants was subsequently second to an easy winner in Listed company back at the Curragh, where all-weather winner New Yorker (third) was too keen. Pala Aurelia was an expensive breeze-up purchase and is from a good family.

Starman colt STAR PROSPECT got off the mark immediately at the Curragh and has a good chance of following up

Irish point winner; ended last season with two good hurdle runs; chase debut today. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (10/1 +9%)Definite Dream |
10/1(+9%) | (3) Definite Dream 10/1, Every chance, ran to form, made bit too much use of, did best of those up with the pace beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Worcester last time; returning from long layoff; effective 2-2 1/2m, acts on good; consistent hurdler, may have more to offer over fences. Ran quite well on latest hurdling start but makes chase debut after 314-day absence. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/3 +44%)Whatyouwaitingfor |
10/3(+44%) | (2) Whatyouwaitingfor 10/3, Returned to form benefitting from reappearance, taken on up front and did plenty early 15l third in a handicap chase at Chepstow most recent run; trainer in form; effective 2-2 1/4m, suited by sound surface; should progress again. Ran well for long way when third at Chepstow last month; dryer ground could suit here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (12/1 -243%)Miss Denver |
12/1(-243%) | (6) Miss Denver 12/1, Outpaced, ran to form but needed stiffer test 9l third in a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot most recent run; effective 2m; may do better over further in handicaps but threat if getting stiff test on chase debut. Kept on for third on recent handicap hurdle debut; could have more to offer over fences. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (3/1 -20%)Cawthorne Cracker |
3/1(-20%) | (7) Cawthorne Cracker 3/1, Ran to form 11l third in a handicap chase at Market Rasen most recent run; usually held up; effective 2m, needs sound surface; back in form and mark fair. Ran okay last month, after a break, but others in this field probably have more potential. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (13/2 -8%)Intenzo |
13/2(-8%) | (4) Intenzo 13/2, Keen, too much to do off modest pace in race dominated from front when fourth beaten 15l in a handicap chase at Kelso latest; effective 2m-2m3f; probably more to come over fences, head carriage a worry. Below form on last two starts; good claims if judged on Sedgefield second in March. |

Miss Denver ran better than her odds suggested she would when third at Newton Abbot earlier in the month and has to be of interest on her chasing bow. Course winner Cawthorne Cracker also needs to be taken seriously, but CAPTAIN COOL has only found one too good the last twice over the smaller obstacles and could prove a different proposition now sent over fences.

Irish point winner CAPTAIN COOL ended last season in good form over hurdles at Sedgefield and is given the verdict.

Has shown modest form in three runs over hurdles since his last Flat race last October.. |

11th (2) (40/1 -60%)Popeye Doyle |
40/1(-60%) | (2) Popeye Doyle 40/1, Well beaten again, handicapper has a grip on them comfortably held in a handicap at Newcastle last time; in good form prior; returning from a break; effective 8-10f, all worthwhile form on AW; mark is still competitive but this stiff 10f may stretch. Always in rear when last of six on stable debut at Newcastle in December.. |

The Cookstown Cafu commands close attention on the back of his all-weather success at Newcastle, while similar sentiments apply to Musselburgh winner Spirit Catcher. FINLAGGAN makes most appeal, though, on the basis that he improved markedly on his handicap debut at Pontefract, when finishing a neck second, and is likely to have a lot more to come. The booking of Cieren Fallon suggests connections are confident.

The only one of these on an upward curve is FINLAGGAN who was runner-up at Pontefract last month. The danger is The Cookstown Cafu.

5/2(+50%) | (1) Elmakaya 5/2, Promising debut beaten 6l in a maiden at Leopardstown on debut; effective 1m; debut form franked at Group level, should improve. Late gains from wide draw after slowish start on Leopardstown debut, don't write off. |

11/2(-193%) | (2) Guardian Of Realm 11/2, Raced more freely than ideal, cost her near the line when second beaten a nose in a maiden at Dundalk latest; hood first time; top course jockey; effective at 7/8f, acts on AW; still capable of a fraction more if settles better. Placed in three AW maidens at 7f-1m, hung right latest, hood goes on, thereabouts again. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (9/1 -50%)Wedding |
9/1(-50%) | (8) Wedding 9/1, Yard has won 2 of last 5 runnings of race; ran to form but well held up in class and trip comfortably held in a maiden at Leopardstown last time; cheekpieces first time; top course trainer; likely capable of better for top yard but needs it. Out of the frame in maidens at Gowran (1m) and Leopardstown (1m2f), cheekpieces tried. |

8th (6) (4/1 +84%)Sydney Dollars |
4/1(+84%) | (6) Sydney Dollars 4/1, 40,000 euros Mehmas filly; half-sister to Pittsford, useful at 11f; dam smart at 8f and a winner in France; likely to need this experience. E40,000 Mehmas filly, dam 6.5f-7f winner, market can guide on debut. |

Very few can be ruled out in this maiden and Irish Oaks entrant ELMAKAYA gets a tentative vote. The daughter of Wootton Bassett shaped well on debut in a strong maiden at Leopardstown five weeks ago and should step forward. Solana Beach is a half-sister to several smart winners and was notably green when second to a highly-rated colt at Gowran. Guardian Of Realm was placed on all three all-weather starts last year, but wasn't progressive and was twice turned over at odds-on. By Too Darn Hot and making her debut, Mai Dahlia represents a yard in irrepressible form, while expensive yearling Rebel Wave is another newcomer to note.

Narrow preference is for SOLANA BEACH who looks almost certain to improve for quicker ground and the step up to 1m

10/3(+0%) | (2) I Am The Moon 10/3, Stopped quickly when fourth beaten 27l in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow latest; effective 2 1/2-3m; inconsistent. Seemingly back in prime form in February but ended last season with two lesser efforts. |

8/1(+43%) | (3) Mahon Falls 8/1, Below form up in trip well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Fakenham latest; effective 2m-2m5f, acts on soft, good; Irish form franked at Graded level, more to come now handicapping over longer trips. Safely held on both stable starts, latterly when upped to 2m7f for handicap debut in April. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (16/1 +0%)Dunaden Island |
16/1(+0%) | (5) Dunaden Island 16/1, Ran to form 41l third in a maiden hurdle at Newton Abbot most recent run; second run after wind op; effective at 1m7f-2m5f on heavy, good; needs much more but might do better when handicapping but mark demands it. Ex-pointer; fourth at big odds on rules debut but well beaten twice since; handicap debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (2/1 +27%)All Inn Hand |
2/1(+27%) | (1) All Inn Hand 2/1, Never travelled, needed run when fourth beaten 44l in a handicap chase at Perth latest; blinkers first time; trainer in form; stays 3m, acts on good to soft and good; good mark on best hurdle form, more to come. Hurdle/chase winner last spring; returned with lacklustre chase run last month. |

Jena D'oudairies appreciated the application of blinkers for the first time to strike at Taunton and should mount another bold bid, but it may pay to side with I AM THE MOON. The seven-year-old finished an underwhelming fourth in this class at Chepstow last month but, with Sam Twiston-Davies back on board and a 2lb lower rating, she could be the way to go. All Inn Hand is another to note.

Back on track with a win in first-time blinkers last month, JENA D'OUDAIRIES has a good opportunity to follow up.

17/2(+61%) | (1) Dakota Brave 17/2, Green and never threatened beaten 9 1/4l in a novice at Lingfield on debut; bred to be suited by around 7f; all to prove. Green when sixth of seven at Lingfield on his debut; can take a step forward. |

15/2(-7%) | (6) Oh So Slow Sloth 15/2, Sold for 75,000 guineas as a yearling; filly by high-class sprinter Dark Angel; half-sister to Brighton Boy, smart at 6f; dam useful sprinter Natural Instinct; probably effective 6f; market can guide. This Dark Angel filly needs considering, especially if the market vibes are positive. |

Mind Those Steps shaped with promise when finishing third on his introduction at Ripon and is bound to take a step forward, but a chance can be taken on newcomer THIS MOMENT. George Boughey's colt is a half-brother to Dickensian, who placed in the Flying Childers as a juvenile and landed Listed honours at York earlier in the week. Therefore, it would be no surprise to see the son of Showcasing make an instant impression. Thai Ginger completes the shortlist.

Location Location is second choice behind MIND THOSE STEPS who seems likely to build on his promising Ripon debut.

Began 2026 with two AW wins; unplaced but not disgraced twice since; can't rule out. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (11/4 +21%)Space Bear |
11/4(+21%) | (9) Space Bear 11/4, Scored by 3l off a 5lb lower mark at Yarmouth penultimate start; ran to form third beaten 3l off 76 last time, 1lb lower here; suited by 6f, acts on AW, good to firm; consistent. Arrives in good form but this is a step up in class and she may come up short. |

Alpine Girl showed her appreciation for the return to turf when going in over 5f at Pontefract and she is just as effective at this trip. Saffron Dandy and Lebron Power give Richard Hannon a decent hand, while Powdering has slipped to 1lb below her last winning mark. Space Bear arrives in good form, but SHALLOW was only just denied at Yarmouth by a mare who went on to make the frame in Group 3 company and Richard Spencer's five-year-old probably meets nothing of that calibre here.

Alpine Girl should go well but SHALLOW (nap) returned to form at Yarmouth last month and could enjoy the run of the race.

Useful British form and positive h'cap runs for new yard but this is a tall task. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (13/8 +54%)Native Warrior |
13/8(+54%) | (4) Native Warrior 13/8, Ran to form up in class back from break when second beaten 1/2l in a Group 3 at Saint-Cloud latest; suited by 7f, stays 1m, acts on any; progressive handicapper, unexposed at this level, may find a little more. British raider was a good second in a Gr.3 on return; entitled to improve and top rated. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (16/1 +36%)Rahmi |
16/1(+36%) | (5) Rahmi 16/1, Needed run down the field in Gladness Stakes (Listed) at The Curragh most recent; in good form prior; off a short-break; suited by 7f, acts on yielding and good; progressive last term, very hard to know how much more to come. Three-time h'cap winner was disappointing on return; Tashakour looks stable's main hope. |

Runner-up in the Dewhurst at two, EXPANDED was unable to make an impact in a light campaign last year but his reappearance run at Leopardstown was highly encouraging. The Wootton Bassett colt made up a lot of ground in the straight to chase home stable first string The Lion In Winter. With the run under his belt, he'll be hard to beat from a good draw. Once fitted with a visor, Karl Burke's Native Warrior was a big improver in handicaps last season and ran to his new mark when second in a Group 3 at Saint-Cloud in March. East Hampton should progress from his seasonal debut second in a Listed contest at the Curragh.

Coming home strongly for second on his return, EXPANDED is a big player with that run under his belt.

5/1(+41%) | (1) Pure Seduction 5/1, Keen, made too much use of comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Warwick last time; off a short-break; effective at 2m on good; could improve for switch to chasing but mark demands more. Back from long absence with two underwhelming hurdle runs this year; chase debut today. |

|F| (4) (5/2 +0%)Little Wren |
5/2(+0%) | (4) Little Wren 5/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Plumpton latest where never jumped or travelled; off a short-break; effective 2m5f on good to soft; still early days over fences, possibly capable of better for top yard. Made all on chasing debut; flopped next time but may still have potential. |

Look no further than A LITTLE SOMETHING. She has done more than enough in finishing second at Ludlow and Fontwell the last twice to suggest a race of this nature is well within her compass. Little Wren was pulled up at Plumpton, but is better judged on her previous Fakenham success for champion trainer Dan Skelton. Miss Fedora is next best.

Still on a workable mark after running a big race in defeat at Fontwell last month, A LITTLE SOMETHING has solid claims.

Suffered interference when ninth at Chester latest; no surprise to see him bounce back. |

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (16/1 -78%)Mighty Magnus |
16/1(-78%) | (3) Mighty Magnus 16/1, Big effort having been rushed up after missing break beaten a head off a 4lb lower mark at Ripon last time; probably effective 5/6f, acts on soft and good; reliable and competitively handicapped. 14th (7) (20/1 -208%)Dandy Breeze |
20/1(-208%) | (7) Dandy Breeze 20/1, Ran to form on handicap debut just caught late by race fit rival beaten 1 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; top course jockey; speedily-bred, effective 5-6f, acts on AW; quite big, strong colt, likeable, more to come. Excellent second at Newcastle 16 days ago; likely capable of better still on turf debut. |

Gouken clearly benefited from his winter break and being gelded when shedding his maiden tag on his return at Newcastle, and he needs to be considered back in handicap company. Dandy Breeze has done little wrong in his three starts so far, finishing in the top two in each of them, and he should remain competitive. However, MARCELLINUS comfortably won by two lengths on his handicap bow at Bath last month and will prove very hard to beat.

There was a lot to like about the win of RED SPELLS DANGER on his first go over 6f at Ripon and he can follow up on his handicap debut

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (20/1 -43%)Kyrenia |
20/1(-43%) | (4) Kyrenia 20/1, Coulsty filly; half-sister to Kynren, very smart at 7f; dam moderate at 14f; yard's horses tend to improve with experience; tough enough task on debut. Half-sister to two winners, notably the useful Kynren (RPR 112); betting should guide. |

33/1(+67%) | (6) Sparkling Wine 33/1, Green and hung under pressure when fourth beaten 15l in a maiden here latest; speed in pedigree; plenty more needed. Modest form in two runs 387 days apart; minor handicaps beckon. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (50/1 +0%)Lady Grey |
50/1(+0%) | (5) Lady Grey 50/1, Never in the race, modest debut well beaten in a novice at Doncaster only start; top course trainer; speed in pedigree; all to prove. Never in the hunt at Doncaster three weeks ago (5f, good to firm); difficult to recommend. |

Ralph Beckett is usually worth following when he sends one to Ripon so the hint must be taken with ZEN DIVA. The daughter of Sergei Prokofiev let down favourite-backers on her final two appearances as a juvenile, but she lost little in defeat and can get off the mark in first-time cheekpieces. The others with experience don't inspire much confidence so it may be a newcomer who puts up the biggest fight, with 420,000gns Ardad filly Black Orchid obviously the most interesting. Kyrenia is worth a second glance.

Black Orchid\b, bred to be smart, is of obvious interest but \bZEN DIVA has the benefit of experience and can make a winning return.

Impressive win on debut over C&D, from excellent family, should improve, big chance. |

25/1(+50%) | (1) Controlla 25/1, Sold for 160,000 guineas as a yearling; filly by top-class miler Night Of Thunder; half-sister to Khaloosy, very smart at 1m; dam useful middle-distance performer Elshaadin; probably effective 6f; up against it. 160,000gns Night Of Thunder filly, related to useful winners, pitched in at the deep end. |

14/1(-87%) | (6) Vollering 14/1, Quickened clear takingly 2 1/2l winner in a novice at Redcar on debut; effective 5f, pedigree suggest will get 6f, acts on fast ground; very useful early 2yo. Powered clear late on to win on debut over 5f at Redcar, should get 6f, no forlorn hope. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 -57%)Maria Quiteria |
11/1(-57%) | (3) Maria Quiteria 11/1, Touch green in front but came clear 4 1/4l winner in a maiden at Dundalk on debut; off a short-break; bred to get a mile at 3yo, acts on AW, sound surfaces will suit; big, attractive filly, more to come. Justified skinny odds on debut at Dundalk, should handle turf but this demands a lot more. |

Paddy Twomey expected VELOZEE to take a big step forward from her debut win at Cork and the daughter of Sioux Nation easily beat three rivals in a Listed race at the Curragh earlier this month. She steps up to 6f for the first time and is taken to maintain her unbeaten status, with a visit to Royal Ascot likely to be next on the agenda if all goes well here. C&D winner Victorious will pose a threat for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore, while Vollering won in taking style at Redcar and merits respect as well. Newcomer Controlla is from a yard with a lot of juvenile talent.

Velozee is taken on with the promising VICTORIOUS (nap) who made a big impression when winning a C&D maiden on debut last month

10/3(+63%) | (1) Reteti 10/3, Ran to form comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time; off a short-break; effective at 2m on good to soft; in fair form. Ran well for a long way on handicap debut and may be better suited by this faster ground. |

6th (3) (2/1 -82%)Frank Stamper |
2/1(-82%) | (3) Frank Stamper 2/1, Mistake at key stage, out-battled late having looked winner, ran to form beaten 1/2l off a 1lb lower mark at Fontwell last time; effective 2m, acts on soft, good; showed promise on Flat and so far over hurdles, yard has done well with similar types but jumping must improve. 0-6 over hurdles but ran well when close second at Fontwell last month; good chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/1 +31%)Blazing Gaden |
11/1(+31%) | (8) Blazing Gaden 11/1, Outpaced, never threatened comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Taunton last time; major improvement needed. Well beaten on soft-ground handicap debut but recent good-ground run was more encouraging. |

FRANK STAMPER ought to take a bit of beating in this handicap hurdle. A lacklustre Wincanton display aside, he has performed well at Plumpton and Fontwell on two of his last three outings and a repeat of either of those efforts should be good enough here. Galactic Jack showed a bit more at Taunton and is noted along with Mi Sueno.

Warren Greatrex's FRANK STAMPER shaped very much as though his turn is near when second at Fontwell last month and he gets the nod.

40/1(-300%) | (1) Military Air 40/1, Needed run on stable debut comfortably held in a handicap at Pontefract last time; effective 10-12f, all form in France is on testing ground; Listed-class in France but form tailed off at the end of 2025 season. Ex-French; well beaten on stable debut at Pontefract (1m2f) last month. |

Savrola never finished outside of the top two in any of his five starts last year and remains on a workable mark on his reappearance. Ghaiyya readily returned to winning ways at Doncaster and is respected, but it's hard to get away from VALIANCY. William Haggas' charge showed improvement to score in first-time cheekpieces in a hot handicap at Haydock in September and may have more to offer this season.

Savrola and Putapoundinthejar bring notable positives but a rematch between Valiancy and RIDE THE THUNDER may hold the key.

11/1(-57%) | (4) Quirke On Parole 11/1, Made too much use of, stopped quickly, needed run beaten 7l in a handicap at Beverley last time; suited by 10f on a sound surface, likes fast ground; competitive weighted, could leave reappearance form behind. Got off the mark at Beverley last June but last of ten back there last month.. |

7/2(+75%) | (6) Oilisa 7/2, Below form up in class, needed run beaten 10l in a handicap at Doncaster last time; in good form prior; effective 6/8f, likes heavy, acts on good, AW; progressive last autumn, current mark demands another career best but should come on for latest. Landed a brace at Ayr and Nottingham around 1m last October on heavy.. |

17/2(+47%) | (5) Little Ted 17/2, Below form back up in trip beaten 5l in a handicap at Ayr last time; top course trainer; effective at 7-10f, acts on sound surface; 1lb below his last win mark but needs more. Has three course wins over 1m2f; hasn't figured since returning to turf last month.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (28/1 -180%)Ring Of Gold |
28/1(-180%) | (12) Ring Of Gold 28/1, Ran to form but well held back in a handicap when fourth beaten 4l in a handicap at Southwell latest; effective 7/8f, acts on any; in decent form, bit more needed. 0-21 on turf and has dropped to a career-low mark; doesn't appeal for win purposes.. |

ARRANMORE has been in fine fettle on Tapeta, finding only one too good when attempting to complete a Southwell double. A 1lb rise isn't ideal given his age and, therefore, lack of scope for improvement, but he is the only runner who arrives in good form. Fellow veteran Ring Of Gold has also been holding his own on the all-weather, although he has never managed to win on turf. Oilisa, Woodleigh and Barleybrown may be the bigger threats.

Most of these are fully exposed but one that may have more improvement in her is OILISA. The chief threat could be Arranmore.

7/1(-133%) | (7) Royal Bay Cen 7/1, Did it easily, improved benefitting from drop in class on stable debut when winning Polonia Stakes (Listed) at Cork by 9l last time; effective 5-7f on good to soft; ex-French, smart 2yo there, respected at this level. 6th (5) (20/1 -67%)Kindergarten |
20/1(-67%) | (5) Kindergarten 20/1, Improved a little for debut experience when fourth beaten 2l in Committed Stakes (Listed) at Navan latest; effective 6f, bred to get at least a mile, acts on yielding; strong sort, should improve again. Plausible improvement to come over 1.75l defeat behind Charles Darwin on just second start. |

7th (2) (28/1 -40%)Chicago Call |
28/1(-40%) | (2) Chicago Call 28/1, Every chance, ran to form beaten 3l in Committed Stakes (Listed) at Navan last time; gets 6f, may stay 7f, acts on yielding and good; game and largely consistent. Improved over moderate seasonal return when 3l behind at Navan latest; others preferred. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (1/1 -37%)Charles Darwin |
1/1(-37%) | (1) Charles Darwin 1/1, Yard has won 4 of last 9 runnings of race; not as impressive as previous run but confirmed the form when winning Committed Stakes (Listed) at Navan by 1 1/4l last time; top course trainer; enjoys making it; effective 5/6f, acts on any, give will suit action; good looking colt, top-class 3yo prospect can defy penalty. Last season's Norfolk Stakes winner was workmanlike on return but improvement likely. |

With a winning seasonal return behind him, CHARLES DARWIN looks the one. He was running for the first time since his success in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot last June when landing a Listed contest at Navan last month, and can take this step back up in grade in his stride. Havana Anna was twice a course winner last season and went close to a Group 1 victory when runner-up to True Love in the Cheveley Park at Newmarket in September. However, this is her first run of the new term and the one who may give the selection most to think about is Royal Bay Cen.

Although workmanlike when winning on his return, CHARLES DARWIN improved throughout last season and can show the benefit of that run

6/4(+63%) | (3) Tapley 6/4, Scored by 3/4l off a 3lb lower mark here penultimate start; ran to form, let down by jumping at key stage third beaten 8 1/4l off 120 last time, same mark here; effective 2m, barely gets 2 1/2m, wants sound surface; consistent. Scored over C&D in March and didn't run badly at Newton Abbot last month; respected. |

|PU| (1) (2/1 +20%)King Roly |
2/1(+20%) | (1) King Roly 2/1, Outpaced, never competitive after series of errors having been hampered comfortably held in a handicap chase at Perth last time; trainer in form; effective 2 1/2m on sound surface, likely get 3m; progressive until latest. Three chase wins in early part of last season; ran okay last month, after a break; player. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (7/1 -40%)Okavango Delta |
7/1(-40%) | (5) Okavango Delta 7/1, Stiff mark comfortably held in a handicap chase at Musselburgh last time; returning from a break; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft and good; inconsistent, mark high enough. Off since December but has good record when fresh and Sean Bowen is booked. |

TAPLEY clearly appreciates a sound surface and is taken to gain a second C&D success following his March victory off 3lb lower. The nine-year-old drops in grade after his recent third at Newton Abbot and this appears to be a fine opportunity for him to strike. A first-time visor might aid the cause of Bagheera Ginge on his first outing since October, while King Roly is entitled to bounce back from a below-par outing at Perth.

The most interesting runner is arguably OKAVANGO DELTA (nap), who has a good record when fresh is partnered by Sean Bowen.

Nine course wins; whether he has the toe for 5f, at his age off this mark, is the question. |

20/1(+39%) | (13) Pal Joey 20/1, Far too free back up in trip down the field in a handicap at Thirsk most recent; effective 5-7f, acts on a sound surface; more needed off this mark. Has done most racing over further; the early impact of the visor may have worn off now. |

25/1(+0%) | (12) Azuinthejungle 25/1, No obvious excuse beaten 6l in a handicap at Musselburgh last time; effective 5/6f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; game but has probably reached plateau. Progressive in lesser company last summer; can have issues at the stalls; needs better. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (8) (9/1 -6%)Vince L'amour |
9/1(-6%) | (8) Vince L'amour 9/1, Returned to form down in class landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Ripon last time; enjoys making it; suited by 5f, acts on soft and good; inconsistent, revised mark may be enough to stop him. Won from the rail draw at Ripon and a 6lb rise looks plenty as he goes back up in class. |

Jordan Electrics still retains plenty of enthusiasm at the age of 10 and drops back in trip following fine efforts at Newmarket and, most recently, when sixth in the Victoria Cup at Ascot last week. Station X is back on turf now having returned to winning ways at Southwell, but the vote goes to LITTLE MI MI. Having enjoyed a fine campaign on the all-weather during the winter months, Iain Jardine's mare continued her progression at Ayr and the booking of Saffie Osborne further enhances her credentials.

This may be set up for REIGNING PROFIT, who's always done well in the spring and is on a winning mark. Woohoo is second choice.

40/1(-21%) | (8) Tenor's Inn 40/1, Far too free down the field in a handicap at Southwell most recent; off a short-break; suited by stiff 5f and fast ground; competitive mark but inconsistent. Chance on his Beverley fourth last August but he has been well beaten in three runs since. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (50/1 -213%)Peggy Boo |
50/1(-213%) | (5) Peggy Boo 50/1, Outpaced, disappointing down in trip beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Catterick last time; effective 5f on good; all to prove in handicaps. Finished last in two handicap runs this spring; down in weights but with a point to prove. |

Now that SIMBA'S PRIDE has got his head in front, he could kick on and progress through the handicap ranks. Michael Dods' charge appreciated the drop to this trip when scoring readily on his handicap debut at Hamilton and, unexposed as a sprinter, there is likely plenty more improvement in him. Gunalt Wavelength and Ellie's De Vega are the ones expected to put up the most resistance.

Simba's Pride isn't opposed lightly but HARES BREDTH can have his latest third upgraded and he is hardly exposed himself.

9/2(+36%) | (12) Lady Iman 9/2, Very disappointing though was eased when held beaten 6l in Flying Childers Stakes (Group 2) at Doncaster last time; top course jockey; suited by 5f and a sound surface; top-class sprinting filly but lost form at end of 2yo season. Impressive CV in opening runs last term; big player on ratings but lacks a run. |

MISSION CENTRAL is taken to add to his recent C&D success. He made a winning seasonal return in the Listed Woodlands Stakes three weeks ago, getting the better of Likedbymike by three-quarters of a length, and should confirm that form on 2lb worse terms. Keke has developed into a more than decent handicapper and he brought his career tally to seven with a clear-cut victory over 6f here. He drops back in trip but certainly arrives with every chance, as do dual Group 3 winner Lady Iman and fellow three-year-old filly Ipanema Queen, a three-time scorer last season.

A ready winner when beating many of these in a C&D Listed contest last time, MISSION CENTRAL could still have improvement to come

80/1(-60%) | (6) Law Of The Jungle 80/1, Pulled up in a bumper at Taunton latest where green and needed run; off a short-break; improvement needed. Pulled up when 100-1 for British debut at Taunton in March. |

4th (1) (5/2 -33%)Lightsoutandaway |
5/2(-33%) | (1) Lightsoutandaway 5/2, Promising debut 9l fourth in a bumper at Fontwell first-time out; effective 2m1f, acts on good; should improve a little for initial experience. Just a respectable fourth on recent Fontwell debut but ought to have learnt from that. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/4 +45%)Mac's Max |
11/4(+45%) | (4) Mac's Max 11/4, Always at the rear comfortably held in a juvenile bumper at Wetherby last time; effective 2m1f, acts on good to soft; can do better. Off since well held in December; big player if judged on promising debut in November. |

MAC'S MAX didn't quite build on his runner-up effort on debut at Newcastle in November when struggling to make an impact at Wetherby the following month. That may have been a quick enough turnaround and it would be no surprise to see Ben Haslam's gelding bounce back after being given time to recover. Lightsoutandaway is likely to build on his fourth at Fontwell and commands respect along with Bound For Glory.

It might pay to give another chance to MAC'S MAX, who struggled on soft ground last time but made a promising debut on good to soft.

Progressed well in 2025 until 13th at Saint-Cloud; appeals as the sort to do well in 2026. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/2 +21%)Epidavros |
11/2(+21%) | (5) Epidavros 11/2, Ran to current form beaten 4l off a 1lb higher mark at Musselburgh last time; effective 7-9f, acts on soft and good; in moderate form of late. C&D scorer; in decent nick, fourth at Musselburgh latest; 2lb out of handicap though. |

8th (6) (66/1 -65%)Second Fiddle |
66/1(-65%) | (6) Second Fiddle 66/1, May have found ground on the quick side on turf return, needed run down the field in a handicap at Musselburgh most recent; suited by 8f, acts with cut and on AW; enjoyed productive autumn, handicapper now in charge. Enjoyed a superb 2025 when a six-time winner (including here) but yet to fire this season. |

SEREN STAR progressed nicely in 2025 with the daughter of Profitable winning on three occasions, including over C&D in August, and she is well worth forgiving her final start in a Listed contest at Saint-Cloud. Heavy ground and a long season may have been contributing factors to that effort and it would be no surprise to see her bounce back. Plaid remains open to improvement following a second on her handicap bow at Kempton. Others to note include Cancelled and Epidavros.

The upwardly mobile PLAID (nap) looks the way to go here, raised just 1lb for her handicap debut second at Kempton.

11/4(-47%) | (1) Maynora 11/4, Improved on recent effort back down in trip landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Pontefract last time; effective 6f, stays 7f, acts on good and AW, action will suit soft ground; largely consistent. 11th-time lucky when scoring at Pontefract last month; 4lb higher and drawn widest today. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/4 0%)I'm Dan Dare |
9/4(0%) | (4) I'm Dan Dare 9/4, Improved back up in trip in first time cheekpieces beaten a nose off a 2lb lower mark at Redcar last time; trainer in form; effective 6f; unexposed in handicaps and at 6f, remain competitive. 17/2(-6%) | (6) Call Me By My Name 17/2, Needed run down the field in a handicap at Haydock most recent; effective 5/6f, acts on a sound surface; inconsistent maiden, highly tried last year. Drops back in class with his seasonal/stable debut under his belt; can do better today. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (50/1 -52%)Dance Hello |
50/1(-52%) | (9) Dance Hello 50/1, Beaten home turn not staying made a lot of use of off a layoff down the field in a handicap at Wolverhampton most recent; wide draw; off a short-break; effective 5f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; needs return to minimum trip. Modest maiden; little evidence to suggest she is the answer today. |

I'M DAN DARE makes a good bit of appeal in the finale. He wasn't fancied at Redcar, but clearly improved for going back up to this trip as he was denied by the narrowest of margins under this rider. Now that the penny has dropped, Adrian Nicholls' inmate is well worth another chance. Maynora appreciated the switch to turf when scoring at Pontefract and heads the list of dangers from Carnation Queen.

I'm Dan Dare is a solid option but CALL ME BY MY NAME drops in class and could prove a different proposition with a run behind him.

5/2(+55%) | (2) Jonny Concrete 5/2, Bit free back from break but returned to form beaten 2l off this mark at Chester last time; effective 6/7f, acts on any; just 2lb above last winning mark, could build on recent revival. A good test over this trip is fine; at his best last year around this time; player. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (16/1 +0%)Top Juggler |
16/1(+0%) | (8) Top Juggler 16/1, Ran to current level beaten 5l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; suited by 6f, acts on good and AW, likes give; mark quite tough but largely reliable when in his grade. Fair record here for the Quinn yard; will need to be spot on back from six months off. |

4th (11) (6/1 +57%)Rock Opera |
6/1(+57%) | (11) Rock Opera 6/1, Ran to current form beaten a length off this mark at Thirsk last time; suited by 6f, acts on good to soft, fast ground and AW (not heavy); mark easing but recent form only moderate. ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Regressive maiden who returns from seven months off; would be a surprise winner. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (28/1 -75%)Abduction |
28/1(-75%) | (9) Abduction 28/1, Scored by a head off a 2lb lower mark at Musselburgh penultimate start; below recent winning form eighth beaten 9l off 76 last time, same mark here; top course trainer; effective 6-8f, acts on any but wants cut over shorter trips; on workable mark still, must bounce back and could do with some rain. Wants a good test at this trip; said to have run flat last time; 2-4 for Kaiya Fraser. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (13/2 +13%)Stirrup Cup |
13/2(+13%) | (12) Stirrup Cup 13/2, Met trouble on multiple occasions, unlucky beaten 1 1/4l off this mark at Thirsk last time; suited by 5/6f, acts on good and AW, likes give; in the mix off a fair mark. Twice been unlucky in big-field Thirsk handicaps this spring; enters calculations. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (33/1 +0%)Beauty Choice |
33/1(+0%) | (13) Beauty Choice 33/1, Below form up in class beaten 10l in a handicap at Doncaster last time; effective at 6/7f, acts on any going; back below last winning mark but form has tailed off. Said to have hung left when well beaten on his return to turf seven weeks ago; outsider. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (20/1 -135%)Aberama Gold |
20/1(-135%) | (1) Aberama Gold 20/1, Scored by a head off a 1lb lower mark at Catterick penultimate start; not given a hard time when beaten sixth beaten 5 1/4l off 80 last time, same mark here; suited by 6f, acts on any, likes cut; veteran, still on a competitive mark. Had a rare off-day at Thirsk a fortnight ago but is quite capable of bouncing back. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (18/1 -50%)Lion's House |
18/1(-50%) | (10) Lion's House 18/1, Returned to form down in class beaten a neck off a 1lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; effective 5/6f, suited by a sound surface; just 2lb above last winning mark. Decent second on the AW last time, but he's far from certain to repeat the effort. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (7/2 +30%)Montezuma |
7/2(+30%) | (3) Montezuma 7/2, Scored by 2l off a 8lb lower mark at Musselburgh penultimate start; ran to form but looked in need of slightly stiffer test second beaten a length off 78 last time, 1lb higher here; top course jockey/trainer combination; effective 5/6f, acts on soft and good to firm; consistent but new mark asks more, longer trip may suit. No worries about the return to 6f in another big field and may yet be capable of better. |

Juan Les Pins has been in fine fettle in recent months with a couple of victories backed up by a number of placed efforts, including at Ascot last weekend. Another bold bid is expected, but the improving MONTEZUMA appeals most. Already a winner in this series at Musselburgh two starts ago, he backed that performance up when runner-up at the same venue a fortnight later off a 7lb higher mark and the four-year-old appears likely to have more to offer. The Good Biscuit and Stirrup Cup head the remainder.

Jonny Concrete is second choice behind MONTEZUMA, who may well have more to offer back up from 5f.

Very late on the scene at 20-1 to deny Fast Fred at Musselburgh (1m4f); player back up 4lb. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (12) (10/3 +56%)Krissy |

Not that consistent but won twice last summer; no show at 33-1 for recent return in a hood. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/1 +29%)Secret Force |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Secret Force 5/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Ayr latest where went too fast; trainer in form; effective 10-11f, suited by testing ground, flat winner; very well bred and a winner when last seen on Flat in Ireland, fair mark on that. 1m3f Flat and 2m hurdle wins initially for G Cromwell; could have more to offer on Flat. |

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (40/1 -233%)Polygram |
40/1(-233%) | (7) Polygram 40/1, Never competitive having missed break beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap here last time; tongue-tie first time; effective 7/8f, acts on good to soft and an sound surface; bit out of sorts of late. 11-race maiden; has tried cheekpieces and now has tongue tied for step up in trip. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (33/1 +18%)Furhaan |
33/1(+18%) | (8) Furhaan 33/1, Stopped quickly down the field in a handicap at Musselburgh most recent; top course trainer; effective 12f on heavy and good; must bounce back after a couple of below par efforts this term. Behind on both runs (1m4f; 25-1 and 28-1) for new yard, so seems best watched for now. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (11/4 +8%)Fast Fred |
11/4(+8%) | (1) Fast Fred 11/4, Scored by a length off a 6lb lower mark at Musselburgh penultimate start; ran to form showing willing attitude second beaten a neck off 75 last time, 2lb higher here; effective 12-16f, acts on AW and with give; generally consistent and new mark remains competitive. Can show up well again after his two big runs at Musselburgh, pipped by Letsbefrank latest. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (25/1 -108%)Sweet Kiss |
25/1(-108%) | (10) Sweet Kiss 25/1, Struggled to get involved beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; suited by 10f, acts on heavy, good to firm; only does enough in front and still competitive off this mark. Three wins last August/September; needs respect if tuned up for this reappearance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (25/1 -79%)Izzari |
25/1(-79%) | (6) Izzari 25/1, Taken on up front and did too much too soon well beaten in a handicap here latest; stays 11f, possibly best 8f, acts on good to soft, good and AW; generally consistent sort, mark demands more. Rethink on trip but a C&D third last June and 1m2f win last September are encouraging. |

Letsbefrank got up in the final strides to collar FAST FRED at Musselburgh towards the end of last month. However, a 2lb swing in the weights could see the latter reverse the placings on this occasion, especially as the top-weight has been in fine form since returning to action. Krissy won on the same Musselburgh card and she is expected to be competitive after a 4lb rise, while a return to the level may see Secret Force in a better light.

The top options may be provided by the 1m4f handicap at Musselburgh three weeks ago in which LETSBEFRANK cut down Fast Fred.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
