KODIAK BREEZE showed lots of pace when fading into second on his introduction at Thirsk at the start of the month and would have learned a great deal from that experience. With any amount of improvement to come, he looks the way to go. Wells Fargo Stage is related to plenty of winners, including Royal Rascal, who won at Listed level as a juvenile. Any market confidence behind newcomer Sloequelle would be interesting.

The most obvious answer is KODIAK BREEZE, who made a pleasing debut at Thirsk.

180,000gns yearling; by Blue Point; the least expensive purchase in the field.
LTO Selection:hiden content,

Crownbreaker is the only contender with experience in the field after her third at Newmarket a few weeks ago and she will be looking to put that to good use. However, WILD BLOSSOM changed hands for 300,000gns at the Craven Breeze-Up sale last month and his dam is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Bayside Boy. The Karl Burke team certainly know how to ready one and she could make an instant impression. Watch the market vibes behind fellow newcomer Miss Havisham, who cost a pretty penny herself.

There is an air of inevitability about WILD BLOSSOM who is first choice ahead of Crownbreaker.

(2) Hicko's Lad 14/1, Green but got a long way behind when well beaten in a maiden at Thirsk only start; sprint-bred; looked poor first-time out.
Tailed off at Thirsk (5f, good) on last month's debut and can't be recommended here.
LTO Selection:

REVELS' price rose from 150,000gns as a foal to 350,000gns as a yearling and his dam was a Listed winner. The son of Lope De Vega is bred to do his best work over this sort of trip and it would be no surprise to see him strike at the first time of asking. Sou'wester is bound to improve as he tackles longer distances, but this looks a good starting place and he's one to watch. Sword Salute is another to keep a close eye on.

350,000gns colt REVELS looks the part on paper and is taken to beat Sword Salute, who also has a good pedigree.

Better treated than on the AW; the longer trip on grass is the double concern.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

The combination of racing keenly and over further appeared to be the undoing of KING'S HAND at Kempton in March. He was successful here over this trip on the all-weather at the end of January and has every chance of bouncing back, especially as he filled the runner-up spot off this mark here two starts ago. Premier has had wind surgery after a productive spell over hurdles during the winter months and has to be of interest, while better is expected from Dancing Tiger.

Primo Lara should be competitive off this mark but the return to turf and to this trip will suit DANCING TIGER and he gets the nod.

Leading player provided AW form is transferred back to turf; 10lb lower in this sphere.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Blue Lakota only found one too good over this trip at Southwell on his most recent start and should go well, although the obvious concern would be the fact he is 0-6 on turf. Keldeo is a player based on her Catterick success two starts ago, but the one who appeals most is course winner HURT YOU NEVER. Adrian Nicholls' mare showed more when third in this grade at Ripon recently and could capitalise on a 2lb lower figure.

In his current form and in this particular field, DC COGENT may be able to register a belated first handicap success.

Mariner hit the woodwork in a class 6 event at Doncaster last month and is likely to be thereabouts again, but the vote goes to THE SWEET ESCAPE. The son of Zoustar was beaten a nose into second over this trip at Leicester recently and a similar performance would make him tough to beat. Up The Jazz finished a neck behind the selection in that contest and needs to be taken seriously.

Top of the list is KISS ME MY LOVE (nap), who suggested he's ready to capitalise upon a good mark when second at Thirsk this month.

BALGOWAN's form tailed off at the back end of 2025 and the seven-year-old has returned in fine fettle in two starts here on the all-weather. He improved from his third in March when getting back to winning ways last month and a 2lb rise is unlikely to stop him. Charles Morin was third behind the selection and is expected to be in the mix once again. Others to consider include Smokey Malone and Rogue Empire.

Perhaps the switch to turf will enable CHARLES MORIN to turn things round with his old rival Balgowan on slightly better terms.

Fire Eyes has to be respected following her narrow Doncaster success last month, but a 3lb rise demands more from her here. With that in mind, preference is for FANCIULLA DEL WEST, who has shown promise in novice company and an opening mark of 68 may underestimate Ed Walker's filly on her handicap bow. Ammoony and Myrrh are others with strong form claims.

The pick is CLOCKER, who arguably ran better than the bare form suggests in a maiden last month and could be on a good opening mark.

Notable Dream is entitled to step forward from his debut third at Doncaster with similar comments also applying to Bin Waary after his keeping-on fourth at Kempton. However, that form may not be of a particularly strong standard and the newcomers make more appeal. Rafe's da Man cost 65,000gns and the yard have begun to hit full stride with their juveniles after a couple of winners at the Dante meeting. The vote, though, goes to ENCOUNTER as it has to be very significant that Ryan Moore comes to Lingfield for just one ride.

7f will suit NOTABLE DREAM, who shaped nicely on debut when held up early off a steady pace. Encounter is an interesting newcomer.

TAYGAR bounced back to form when a length second over 6f at Ayr a couple of weeks ago and it would be no surprise to see the five-year-old go one better off the same mark. That said, One Of Our Own is an obvious threat following her C&D success earlier in the month, although a 6lb rise is a slight concern, while Ishe Worth Agamble is next best.

Topweight GLORY HYDE won a bit more cosily than the narrow margin suggests last month, and she was unlucky at Beverley on Tuesday.

BEHIKE contested a strong Ascot maiden as a juvenile on debut and showed marked improvement on that third-placed effort when returning to the fray here last month and scooting in on the all-weather. He created a sound impression that day and looks the one to be with, although Ayr winner Railwayman and Ray Mon Dough, also a previous winner, cannot be overlooked.

It was hard not to be taken by the way BEHIKE demolished the favourite on his AW comeback here. Railwayman rates the main danger.

WEZZEER looks progressive enough to cope with a 7lb penalty after readily justifying favouritism at Southwell last month. The son of Sioux Nation, a 280,000gns yearling, is bred to appreciate stepping up in trip and has more to offer. Lunar Melody stepped forward from her introduction over 6f here to fill the runner-up berth in a Doncaster maiden 23 days ago. None of these are overly convincing as they all seek an elusive first career win. The likes of Mereside Princess, Smoker Bellamy and Thankfully Simmy have the ability to figure prominently if they are on a going day and warrant consideration. However, slender preference is for COBALT COMET in the hope that his improved effort to finish third at Southwell wan't just a flash in the pan and the low-mileage three-year-old can improve further now he switches to turf.

A maiden handicap in all but name. THANKFULLY SIMMY may be one to get off the mark. Cobalt Comet is second pick.

This is really trappy and what can only be described as a tentative vote is for LONG SHOT. A lot more was expected of him here last time and if getting back to the form of his previous course third, he ought to have a say in proceedings. This won't take much winning and others to note include Twilight Dawn and Black Rock Beauty.

Realistic Dream is considered but BLACK ROCK BEAUTY shades it back from a break in first-time headgear.

STAR OF BEAUTY could never land a blow in a handicap at the Curragh two weeks ago but she must have a chance at this lower level. She had shown up well for much of the way when fifth in a fillies' maiden at Cork previously and the best of her runs last season came on good ground at Naas in August, where she finished a close-up third. Mo Anam Chara drops in trip after finishing down the field on her seasonal reappearance at the Curragh a month ago and she's entitled to improve on that performance. Cosmic Funk certainly ran his best race when fifth at Leopardstown last time and is another to consider.

A tenyative vote goes to MO ANAM CHARA who showed some promise at Dundalk at two. Soft going may not have suited her on seasonal debut

LIFE AFTER LOVE brings strong recent all-weather form to the table here, following a pair of Southwell victories, and, providing she can prove just as effective on the grass, Ollie Sangster's filly should mount a bold bid in search of a three-timer. Enter Sandman also arrives in good nick and might have something to say about that, while Solar Invincible makes some each-way appeal.

Unless the betting market is strong regarding any of the newcomers, it might be best to focus on those with experience. Fire Thunder, May Bee In Profit and Top Cote have all shown enough promise to go on the shortlist.

ARIZONA RAIDER can put his experience to good use. He shaped with promise on his debut at the Curragh a month ago before improving to finish third behind possible Royal Ascot hope Tribeca at Navan. He now steps up in trip and might be fancied ahead of a number of newcomers from bigger yards. The Paddy Twomey-trained Glenade and Joseph O'Brien's Seaxburh are obvious dangers along with Noel Meade's Penny Benjamin, a half-sister to four winners including the Ayr Listed scorer Encapsulation.

The experience gained by ARIZONA RAIDER in two outings could be the decisive factor. The form of his Navan was boosted on Saturday

REGAL ENVOY won a strong renewal of this race 12 months ago and arrives in good enough form to stage a repeat off 3lb lower. The consistent seven-year-old made all at Bath last time and could again be hard to reel in. Adrestia, Democracy Dilemma and All Ways Glamorous are all strong contenders to keep an eye on in the betting, while Gaeli's Italian form has a solid appearance and he is an intriguing option reverting to turf on just his third start for the Marco Botti's yard.

Top of the list is prolific winner REGAL ENVOY (nap), who made all at Bath two weeks ago and is unbeaten in two runs over C&D.

A winner over this sort of trip at Dundalk in February, ROYAL IMPACT has since run with credit in two big-field handicaps at the Curragh. The Far Above gelding finished fifth over 6f last time and should be suited by stepping back up in distance. Jack Kearney has a reasonable draw to work with from stall six. Bella Colombia has gained both of her victories on the all-weather, but she ran well at Limerick when a strong-travelling third over a mile and looks a big player dropping in trip. Irish Rumour's sole victory came under the champion jockey at Navan in 2024. He is back in the plate on this occasion and the six-year-old was touched off on her last turf start at Fairyhouse in September.

Dundalk winner ROYAL IMPACT has performed creditably in two soft-ground handicaps at the Curragh and can score on better ground here

There was plenty to like about the second-placed finish posted by CHIMES OF THUNDER in a novices' event at Haydock last month. The daughter of Night Of Thunder was just a neck behind an unbeaten Coronation Stakes entrant on that occasion and the form looks solid. Plenty of the rest are open to improvement, though and support in the betting for the likes of Tahalel, Withtearsinmyeyes and Trelissick would be dangerous to ignore.

Withtearsinmyeyes sets a good standard but slight preference is for last month's Haydock runner-up CHIMES OF THUNDER.

KARRYGRANT has run well on all three starts and might get a winning turn. Runner-up on his sole appearance at two, Johnny Murtagh's charge was third over this sort of distance on his seasonal reappearance at Navan. Sent off an odds-on favourite over 1m at Bellewstown last time, the River Boyne gelding looked all over a winner at the furlong pole before being caught late and better ground should help as he goes back up in trip. Huff'n'puff is rated only 1lb inferior to the selection and the form of his fifth at Navan was boosted twice at that venue on Saturday. Second over 1m on her only outing last year, Noble Dancer is another to consider.

On official ratings and RPR figures, KARRYGRANT is only marginally superior to Huff'nPuff who rates a big threat.

KILCREA ROCK has been edging closer to a breakthrough victory and can get off the mark for his in-form stable. The Wootton Bassett gelding was caught close home at Leopardstown on his seasonal reappearance and with the benefit of that run, he can defy a 4lb higher mark. Syzygy rattled up a hat-trick last season, including a win over this sort of trip at the Curragh. After two creditable efforts over a mile this season, she now steps back up in distance and looks a big player. Gotta Catch'em All is a long-standing maiden, but was runner-up three times in a row last year and has performed reasonably well in both outings this term.

With improvement likely from his seasonal debut at Leopardstown, KILCREA ROCK (nap) can score for the in-form Joseph O'Brien

Both are respected, as is Morbeh, but KING OF BERKSHIRE just edges it as he created a sound impression when scoring at Redcar and should improve again for this extra furlong.

The vote goes to ANY WHICH WAY, who justified favouritism on his handicap debut at Nottingham and is open to more progress.

SEA OF DUBKA ran well in two handicaps last month and is likely to remain competitive. Out of a Group-placed dam, the form of the selection's latest Cork effort has notably been boosted by both the winner and third scoring subsequently. Femme Beauty defeated the reopposing Musashi to win at Killarney six days ago and each hold obvious claims, despite lacking the same scope as some of these. Wipeawayyourtears finished second over an extended 1m2f on her handicap debut and could take another step forward upped in trip.

One who could easily take a step forward on handicap debut is ADMIRAL WILL BROWN who is bred to prosper over midle-distances.

SYMBOL OF MAJESTY justified short odds to make it two from two at Haydock last month and now makes her first start in a handicap off a rating of 86. Considering the manner of those victories and the potential for more to come, she may prove a tough nut to crack. Estissa has done little wrong in her three outings to date, winning once, and she has to be respected. Similar comments apply to the Godolphin-owned City Queen.

This looks to be a decent contest. Preference is for SYMBOL OF MAJESTY to maintain her unbeaten record. The danger is City Queen.

DUE TO HENRY was only beaten a head into second over 1m2f at Haydock on his seasonal return last month. With improvement likely, the five-year-old could defy a 3lb rise to go one better. Son Of Man would be a big threat to the selection if he can transfer his recent all-weather form to turf, while any market support for Naval Command would have to be noted.

Son of Man is respected but the vote goes to NAVAL COMMAND, who is an interesting contender on his handicap/stable debut.

CAPE TORONADA put in a career best when a length fourth over an extended 5f at Bath a couple of weeks ago. Tony Carroll's filly may have more improvement left to come and gets the vote as a result. Nzuri outran odds of 150/1 when second at Kempton recently and has to be of interest on her handicap debut. Others to consider are Corniche Girl and Marra Donna.

Although MADMAN has had plenty of racing he has shown to advantage on turf and ran quite promisingly from a wide position here last time

PROM QUEEN isn't bred for these types of trip but she took well to it when scoring over an extended 1m5f at Gowran Park last month. Out of a half-sister to a high-class hurdler Countrywide Flame, the selection's dam was a winning sprinter, as were two of her siblings. She's now 8lb higher than for that Gowran triumph but may well be good enough. Sayidah New Bay didn't get the best of runs at Ballinrobe but is more than capable, whilst the booking of Colin Keane aboard Edge Of Darkness might be a noteworthy one.

Noted keeping on over shorter trips the last twice, SAYIDAH NEW BAY is worth another shot at this distance

COURT OF STARS, who contested deeper races as a juvenile, made the most of dropping to this grade when getting off the mark at Kempton a fortnight ago. This is no tougher and a 3lb rise might not be enough to prevent Ollie Sangster's filly from following up. The biggest danger appears to be Seeing Stars, who broke her maiden at the same venue when last seen. Her opening mark of 70 isn't insurmountable for her handicap bow. Perfect Location and Espona Bay complete the shortlist.

While Seeing Stars holds good claims, she may have to play second fiddle to COURT OF STARS who also won last time.

Sir Mark Prescott found a good opportunity for DESERT BELLE when she got off the mark at the second time of asking with a game effort at Southwell last month. Still a work in progress, the daughter of Masar steps into handicap company off a mark of just 69 and this looks to be an ideal chance for her. Pyleates also showed promise in her qualifying runs and is a must for consideration, while Kelly Burn has scope to step forward over this trip.

A decent contest to end the evening can go to DESERT BELLE who got off the mark last time. She has most to fear from Kelly Burn.

Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
