1st (2) (4/5 -20%)Loriko |
4/5(-20%) | (2) Loriko 4/5, No excuses, outpaced late when second beaten 5 1/2l in a maiden hurdle at Plumpton latest; effective 2m-2m4f on heavy and good; step back up in trip might suit. Showed some fairly useful form in the autumn but comes here with a point to prove. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (1/1 +17%)Katarcice |
1/1(+17%) | (1) Katarcice 1/1, Green, mistakes, too much to do behind all-the-way winner, promising hurdles debut when second beaten 2l in a novice hurdle here latest; effective 2m, acts on good; could improve a fair bit for step up in trip here. Second over 2m here on last month's hurdling debut and this longer trip ought to suit. |

LORIKO has been underwhelming on his last couple of starts, but his form earlier last season was very strong and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back to his best on this occasion. That said, Katarcice is a worthy rival having placed on both starts under Rules and the six-year-old can give the selection plenty to think about.

The suggestion is KATARCICE, who has inferior form but less to prove than Loriko.

1st (3) (4/1 +56%)Roman Dragon |
4/1(+56%) | (3) Roman Dragon 4/1, Won this last year off this mark; poor UK return beaten 7l in a handicap at Leicester last time; top course trainer; effective 5-6f, acts on soft and fast ground; veteran with excellent course record, handicapper relenting and should go close. Seven course wins include this race last year off current mark under Oisin Murphy. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/1 -25%)Dubai Bling |
10/1(-25%) | (2) Dubai Bling 10/1, Yard won this last year; returned to form landing a Sprint Handicap by a neck off this mark at Bahrain last time; top course trainer; effective at 6f, acts on good, good to firm; back in form but mark looks a little stiff. Won his final start of a spell in Bahrain; well drawn returned to British soil; in the mix. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (15/2 +53%)Atomic Force |
15/2(+53%) | (4) Atomic Force 15/2, Scored by 1 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Chelmsford penultimate start; effective 5/6f, acts on good to soft, good and AW; former Group winner, in fine form until latest run, better draw today. Successful in last two AW attempts; form dipped back on turf last time; opposed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (13/2 -63%)Seven Questions |
13/2(-63%) | (9) Seven Questions 13/2, Did plenty early beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Ripon last time; significant jockey booking; effective 5/6f, acts on fast ground, but ideally likes give; former Group winner but unreliable and on long losing run. 0-10 for current yard but he's attractively treated on best form and has the plum draw. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (9/2 +47%)Canon's House |
9/2(+47%) | (10) Canon's House 9/2, Bit free in front and caught late but ran to form beaten a head off this mark at Beverley last time; cheekpieces first time; suited by stiff 5f or 6f, acts on good to soft, good and AW; back in form and just 1lb above last winning mark. Went close at Beverley on Monday; may remain competitive, provided he takes to headgear. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (13/2 +24%)Ruby's Profit |
13/2(+24%) | (11) Ruby's Profit 13/2, Back to form in first time hood beaten a length off this mark at Bath last time; enjoys making it; effective 5/6f, acts on heavy, fast ground and AW; back on last winning mark, needs to build on latest. Has gained all wins in spring; finished nicely at Bath on Monday; fighting chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (33/1 +0%)Vintage Clarets |
33/1(+0%) | (8) Vintage Clarets 33/1, Outpaced and never involved beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap at Musselburgh last time; usually held up; wide draw; suited by 5f, acts on any; back below last winning mark but plenty to prove at present. Close third in this race two years ago but has a big doubt over current form. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (66/1 -313%)Smart Vision |
66/1(-313%) | (7) Smart Vision 66/1, No obvious excuse beaten 7l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; effective 5-7f, acts on any; looks too high in weights. Good spell culminated in October double; form has dipped sharply since. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (40/1 -21%)Roach Power |
40/1(-21%) | (13) Roach Power 40/1, Too much to do having met trouble at key stage, needed run beaten 6l in a handicap at Newbury last time; wide draw; suited by 5f, acts on any; in good form, should come on for latest. Has a very good record at 5f but faces a harder task off current mark in this field. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (9/1 -38%)Stratusnine |
9/1(-38%) | (5) Stratusnine 9/1, Yard won this last year; ran to form beaten 1 1/4l off a 1lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; top course trainer; effective 6/7f, acts on soft, good and AW; not one to rely on building on latest. Ran well in latest AW start; record of 2212 on turf and may do better still; interesting. |

Seven Questions was a disappointing favourite at Ripon, but he was supported there thanks to a good third at Pontefract and there will be plenty who keep the faith. Canon's House pushed popular veteran Copper Knight all the way at Beverley on Monday and is respected in first-time cheekpieces. The lightly-raced Stratusnine must be considered, but his stable companion ROMAN DRAGON gets the nod. Seven of his nine career victories have come at this track and, off the same mark as when winning this 12 months ago, he could make a return to form.

The combination of an attractive mark and the plum draw swings the vote in favour of SEVEN QUESTIONS. Ruby's Profit is second pick.

1st (2) (13/2 +35%)Hurricane Bay |
13/2(+35%) | (2) Hurricane Bay 13/2, Again below form when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Market Rasen last time; enjoys making it; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on good; has slipped to a good mark but needs more. Ran well for a long way over 3m last time but has been well below his best for a while now. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/4 +44%)Pep Talking |
5/4(+44%) | (4) Pep Talking 5/4, Scored with plenty in hand down in trip landing a handicap by 10l off a 7lb lower mark at Chepstow last time; effective 2m-2m4f, suited by sound surface; consistent but new mark asks more. Career-best form when winning by 10l at Chepstow last month; now 7-17 over fences. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (5/1 +17%)Big Boy Barney |
5/1(+17%) | (6) Big Boy Barney 5/1, Ran to form, possibly got racing too early when third beaten 11l off 109 last time, 1lb lower here; effective 2m-2m4f on a sound surface; in good form and should go well again. Won very comfortably over C&D in March and again ran well at Southwell last month. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (10/3 -21%)William Cody |
10/3(-21%) | (1) William Cody 10/3, Travelled, possibly hit front a bit soon when beaten a neck off a 3lb lower mark at Wetherby last time; effective 2m4f, acts on soft and good; competitively weighted and consistent but poor strike-rate for a reason. Three-time C&D winner; returns here after going close on last two outings; obvious claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (8/1 +11%)Koapey |
8/1(+11%) | (5) Koapey 8/1, Fell when held in a handicap chase at Chepstow latest; effective 2m, suited by sound surface; debut form had knocks and plenty to prove despite easing mark. Three non-completions have followed his promising chase debut; can still get back on track. |

It is hard to oppose PEP TALKING following his 10-length success over 2m at Chepstow. The step up in trip will not be a problem for him and a 7lb rise should be workable given the ease of that victory. William Cody has been running consistently well in defeat and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Big Boy Barney completes the shortlist.

Topweight WILLIAM CODY ran well in defeat on his last two appearances and is selected to enhance his excellent C&D record.

1st (8) (9/4 +50%)Donegal Rose |
9/4(+50%) | (8) Donegal Rose 9/4, Yard won this last year; hampered late when rallying, promising debut beaten 2 1/2l in a maiden at Leicester on debut; top course trainer; effective 5f, acts on good to firm; should improve on debut effort with a clear run. Form of her Leicester effort needs marking up as she was hampered in the closing stages. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (10/1 +0%)Jazz Queen |
10/1(+0%) | (9) Jazz Queen 10/1, Yard won this last year; minor promise beaten 5 1/4l in a maiden at Newmarket on debut; top course trainer; speedily-bred, sound surfaces will suit action; can improve. Perhaps hindered ending up rather isolated in Newmarket maiden; likely to do better. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/1 -118%)Caturra Lights |
6/1(-118%) | (1) Caturra Lights 6/1, Promising debut at a big price third beaten 1/2l in a maiden at Musselburgh debut; effective 5f, sire sprinter, dam stayed 10f, give may suit action; big, strong sort, should progress. Sets the standard, assuming the form of his 66-1 third at Musselburgh is backed up. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (13/2 +54%)Undercover Affair |
13/2(+54%) | (6) Undercover Affair 13/2, Keen and probably challenged too early but showed up well for a long way on debut 2l fourth in a maiden at Bath first-time out; trainer in form; effective 5f, acts on fast ground; can improve if settling. Speedily bred; Bath effort suggests this sharper scenario will suit; in the mix. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/2 +50%)Paper View |
11/2(+50%) | (5) Paper View 11/2, Run out of it late but solid effort 3l fourth in a novice at Bath first-time out; probably want a mile eventually, sound surfaces will suit action; quite nice type, should come on from first run. May build on Bath promise, provided he's able to overcome the widest draw. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (11/1 -69%)Penny Capri |
11/1(-69%) | (10) Penny Capri 11/1, 24 Jan; £50,000 breeze-up purchase by Minzaal; dam smart at 6f and won second time out in France; hood first time; worth following in the betting. £50,000 (breeze-up) 2yo; by Minzaal; wears hood on debut; check the betting. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (28/1 -40%)Furturra |
28/1(-40%) | (3) Furturra 28/1, Ran to level of debut form when fourth beaten 4l in a maiden at Beverley latest; sprint-bred; has shown promise both starts but more needed to get off the mark. Questionable whether he improved on Monday; vulnerable in this field. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (16/1 +11%)Sunrise At Dawn |
16/1(+11%) | (11) Sunrise At Dawn 16/1, Good late headway after being outpaced beaten 3 1/4l in a novice at Beverley on debut; sprint-bred; should make marked improvement. Made late gains at Beverley but may need a strong pace if again closing from rear. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (13/2 +0%)Koodini |
13/2(+0%) | (4) Koodini 13/2, Yard won this last year; 26 Mar; 20,000 euros Kodi Bear colt; half-brother to Old Chums, useful at 6f; dam smart at 10f; top course trainer; of interest if money arrives. 20,000euros yearling; suitably bred, nicely drawn and looks an interesting newcomer. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (50/1 -127%)Andalnade |
50/1(-127%) | (7) Andalnade 50/1, Sold for 37,000 guineas as a yearling; filly by high-class sprinter Showcasing; half-sister to Harvard Sound, smart at 7f; dam very useful miler Music And Dance; probably effective 6f; likely best watched. 37,000gns yearling; by Showcasing; wears tongue-tie on debut; has the plum draw. |

Caturra Lights defied odds of 66/1 to reach the frame at Musselburgh and may well prove that effort was no fluke, but preference is for JAZZ QUEEN. Fancied on her racecourse bow at Newmarket, she missed the kick and left herself with a mountain to climb. The Too Darn Hot filly should be all the wiser for that experience, though, and a big run is anticipated with improvement on the cards. Paper View is also noted.

Hugo Palmer holds a robust hand with DONEGAL ROSE, Koodini and Jazz Queen. Caturra Lights completes the shortlist.

1st (1) (7/2 -5%)Catwalk Girl |
7/2(-5%) | (1) Catwalk Girl 7/2, Fell before race developed in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow latest; effective at 2m5f on soft and good; former pointer might improve now chasing. Point winner; fell mid-race on recent handicap hurdle debut; still unexposed under rules. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/1 -56%)Lady Jago |
7/1(-56%) | (3) Lady Jago 7/1, Let down by jumping, again below form when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Bangor-on-Dee last time; usually held up; effective at 2m4f-3m and best on a sound surface; mark keeps easing but needs more. Generally disappointing for current stable but now too well handicapped to rule out. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (3/1 0%)Kit's Coty |
3/1(0%) | (4) Kit's Coty 3/1, Didn't find much after bad error when 16l third in a handicap chase at Ludlow most recent run; cheekpieces first time; trainer in form; effective 2m4f-3m on sound surface; capable of a good run again. Rather disappointing since October's Ludlow win but might be boosted by cheepieces. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (10/11 +27%)Another Day Out |
10/11(+27%) | (2) Another Day Out 10/11, Rallied gamely, returned to form back over hurdles back on better ground landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark here last time; enjoys making it; off a short-break; effective 2m4f-3m, best on sound surface; respected back chasing. Battled well for course hurdle win in March and returns to chasing on a good mark. |

ANOTHER DAY OUT bounced back to form with a victory over hurdles at this venue in March and the eight-year-old appears to be the safest pick in an open event, especially as a three-time chase winner already. Kit's Coty beat the selection at Ludlow in October and merits consideration in first-time cheekpieces. Catwalk Girl and Lady Jago both have a bit to prove right now, but the former is the pick of the pair.

C&D winner ANOTHER DAY OUT returned to form with a game hurdle win here in March and remains well handicapped for her chase return.

5/1(+29%) | (4) Cameley Days 5/1, Below form on return, likely needed run beaten 7l in a handicap at Leicester last time; effective at 6f, acts on heavy and good; should come on for return. Two wins last autumn on slower than good; well beaten on her return; ground a slight query. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/1 -10%)Cabeza De Llave |
11/1(-10%) | (3) Cabeza De Llave 11/1, Below form beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap at Southwell last time; in good form prior; suited by 5f, acts on any; former C&D winner capable of a good run. Two-time C&D winner; on a feasible mark and he should have a big run in him. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/4 +8%)Dragon God |
11/4(+8%) | (6) Dragon God 11/4, Step back in right direction beaten a length off this mark at Leicester last time; effective 5-7f, acts on good to soft, good and AW; on a competitive mark. 0-8 but clear promise in two turf runs for Tony Carroll; one to take seriously. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (12/1 -20%)Honour Your Dreams |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Honour Your Dreams 12/1, Bit keen but ran to form beaten 4l off this mark at Lingfield last time; effective 5/6f, acts on sound surface; unreliable but capable and is a former C&D winner. C&D winner who has slipped down the weights; one of two runners for Michael Attwater. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (9/1 +55%)She Went Whoosh |
9/1(+55%) | (10) She Went Whoosh 9/1, Ran to form beaten 3l off this mark at Lingfield last time; tongue-tie first time; effective 5/6f, acts with cut, best on AW; chance if building on latest. Poor strike-rate and not sure she's in the form required to improve it. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (14/1 -180%)Under Curfew |
14/1(-180%) | (8) Under Curfew 14/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 2l in a classified race at Lingfield latest; off a short-break; suited by 5/6f but stays 7f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; erratic but capable, needs more back in a handicap. On a losing run but won't mind conditions and he could go well back on turf. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (11/4 +17%)Hello Luna |
11/4(+17%) | (1) Hello Luna 11/4, Ran to form albeit didn't quite get home back up in trip beaten 3/4l off this mark at Kempton last time; trainer in form; effective 5/6f, acts on a sound surface; can go well here as a former C&D winner. C&D winner off 2lb higher last June; in good order on AW this year; solid claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (16/1 -60%)Barnsnape Boy |
16/1(-60%) | (9) Barnsnape Boy 16/1, Never dangerous again beaten 8l in a handicap at Brighton last time; suited by 5f and fast ground; needs to get fractions right, on workable mark. Last summer's two wins came in cheekpieces which are absent today; others appeal more. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (80/1 -142%)Tilsworth Ony Ta |
80/1(-142%) | (11) Tilsworth Ony Ta 80/1, Again below form beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap at Bath last time; effective 5/6f, acts on any; regressive. Not at best so far this year; too much to prove for comfort. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (14/1 -56%)Secret Handsheikh |
14/1(-56%) | (5) Secret Handsheikh 14/1, Best work late, ran to form 4l third in a handicap at Lingfield most recent run; effective 5/6f, acts on any; mark easing, needs more. Slipping down the weights and his latest 3rd was encouraging; type to come good soon. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (50/1 -52%)Manhattan Chute |
50/1(-52%) | (7) Manhattan Chute 50/1, Never in it from off the pace well beaten in a handicap at Chelmsford latest; usually held up; effective at 5/6f, acts on yielding, good and AW; hasn't beaten a rival in four runs since springing a 50-1 shock in January. Finished last in four runs following his shock Lingfield win in January; hard to recommend. |

A close third over 6f at Kempton a month ago, HELLO LUNA merits plenty of respect off the same mark on her return to turf. Dragon God showed more when making the frame at Leicester recently and he could prove to be the main threat to the selection, although Honour Your Dreams and She Went Whoosh are others who could go well.

Hello Luna looks set to go well at the scene of her only win but DRAGON GOD is building up to something bigger and gets the nod.

1st (3) (2/9 +0%)Constitution River |
2/9(+0%) | (3) Constitution River 2/9, Yard won this last three runnings of race; continued upward trajectory, looked a lovely prospect to look forward to when winning Futurity Stakes (Group 2) at The Curragh by 2l last time; debut form very strong, looks classy and bred to stay this longer trip; the one to beat. Enthusiasm for getting on with it and twice made all over 7f as 2yo, notably in a Group 2. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (22/1 -57%)Generic |
22/1(-57%) | (5) Generic 22/1, Quickened clear comfortably when winning a novice at Yarmouth by 3l last time; effective 1m, bred for 8-10f, acts on AW; open to improvement but needs plenty. Looks promising for 1m2f but this is much more demanding than the Yarmouth novice he won. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (10/1 +9%)Golden Story |
10/1(+9%) | (6) Golden Story 10/1, Made it the perfect start to racing 1 1/4l winner in a maiden at Doncaster on debut; effective 1m, acts on soft; debut form has been franked, plenty to find on the figures but significant improvement likely. Rather pulled himself up when winning at Doncaster (1m, soft); otherwise a good prospect. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (14/1 +13%)Shayem |
14/1(+13%) | (2) Shayem 14/1, Well held under penalty beaten 6 1/2l in Feilden Stakes (Listed) at Newmarket last time; effective 7-9f, acts on soft and good; progressive on turf last year and a winner at this level, plenty to find with re-opposing rival. 3-4 record in Britain last season; only fifth of seven to Morshdi in a recent Listed race. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (16/1 -100%)Flushing Meadows |
16/1(-100%) | (4) Flushing Meadows 16/1, Yard won this last three runnings of race; beaten 5 1/2l in Red Rocks Stakes (Group 3) at Leopardstown last time; trainer in form; effective 7f, 10f may prove best trip, acts on yielding and good; very nice type and will rate more highly; no forlorn stable second string. 1m2f might see him in a different light but Constitution River looks the yard first string. |

Aidan O'Brien recorded a staggering 12th Dee Stakes success with Mount Kilimanjaro last year and CONSTITUTION RIVER could make it lucky number 13 for the Ballydoyle maestro. Beaten a short head by subsequent Guineas third Distant Storm on his debut at Newmarket, he went on to land cramped odds at Galway before claiming Group 2 honours at the Curragh. As has been the case with others before him, the son of Wootton Bassett is sure to progress over middle-distances and might prove hard to beat. Feilden winner Morshdi is the obvious threat but don't rule out Golden Story, who made a winning introduction at Doncaster back in October.

Constitution River has obvious claims but may have to settle better than as a 2yo. MORSHDI and Golden Story are alternatives.

Not beaten far when fifth at Fakenham last month and continues to slip down the weights. |

2nd (4) (8/1 -45%)Mary |
8/1(-45%) | (4) Mary 8/1, Bit below best down in trip when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Stratford last time; in good form prior; effective 2m-2m3f, suited by sound surface; step back up in trip a plus. Won from the front in September and returned from break with encouraging run last month. |

6/4(+8%) | (2) Notnowlinda 6/4, Travelled, returned to form in first-time cheekpieces, just outstayed late back up in trip beaten 2l off this mark at Uttoxeter last time; effective 2m-2m4f on a sound surface; fair mark if building on latest revival. Ran well when third in first-time cheekpieces in March and good ground will suit. |

5th (5) (18/1 -157%)No No Fizz |
18/1(-157%) | (5) No No Fizz 18/1, Unsuited by rain softened ground when pulled up in a handicap hurdle latest; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on good to soft and good; inconsistent. Back in good nick when scoring over C&D in March but pulled up since; hard to predict. |

Last year's winner Mermaids Cave is back for more and is 6lb lower this time. By and large, her recent form warrants that and although she is partnered by a non-claiming rider for the first time in a long time, it would take a leap of faith to back her for a repeat. Maybe it's worth chancing the fitness of HOPE RISING, who showed the darker side to her nature at Chepstow when last seen, but had been in fine form prior and clearly excels on spring/summer ground. So does Notnowlinda, who remains on a handy mark.

Seen to very good effect when allowed to bowl along in a clear lead at Warwick in September, MARY might be the answer.

11/8(+0%) | (1) Jazl 11/8, Confirmed debut level when 4 1/4l third in a maiden at Brighton most recent run; effective 6f on good to firm; good chance in a weak enough contest. Promising Thirsk second but failed to build on it at Brighton after; worth another chance. |

2nd (4) (40/1 -150%)Miss Nightcap |
40/1(-150%) | (4) Miss Nightcap 40/1, 1,000gns breeze-up purchase by Twilight Son; sister to Under The Twilight, smart at 6f; dam useful at 6f; had a wind op and looks an unlikely winner on debut. Twilight son filly who has already had a wind op ahead of debut; market can guide. |

3rd (2) (5/4 +33%)Starryfield |
5/4(+33%) | (2) Starryfield 5/4, Bit below form up to 7f back on turf beaten 2 1/2l in a handicap at Newmarket last time; trainer in form; effective 5/6f, didn't quite last out 7f, acts on good and AW; big, quite nice type, drop in trip here a help. Twice placed at Newcastle before stamina stretched over 7f there; a player back in trip. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (40/1 -150%)Stolen |
40/1(-150%) | (5) Stolen 40/1, Similar level to debut on AW debut when fourth beaten 6l in a maiden at Lingfield latest; effective at 6f on sound surface; needs more. Still looked in need of experience when fourth at Lingfield latest; may do better still. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/2 -13%)Swiped |
9/2(-13%) | (3) Swiped 9/2, Outpaced, ran to debut level up to 7f beaten 10l in a novice at Leicester last time; returning from long layoff; effective at 6/7f; light-framed but should do better. Hinted at promise at 2yrs; gelded and could take a step forward on his seasonal return. |

JAZL didn't build on a promising debut second when third at Brighton on his next start. That said, both of those efforts showed ability and this appears to be an ideal opportunity for the son of No Nay Never to get off the mark. Starryfield was not disgraced in handicap company last time and should not be discounted, while Swiped is next best.

It could pay to side with James Owen's STARRYFIELD who has his fitness assured and should prove suited by the drop back in trip.

Record is 5-7; showed tip-top form to win the 2025 Coronation Cup; the pick on ratings. |

2nd (6) (10/1 +75%)Mount Atlas |
10/1(+75%) | (6) Mount Atlas 10/1, Ran to form up in trip but out-battled late when second beaten 1/2l in Goliath Cup (Listed) at Musselburgh latest; suited by 12f, acts on any; consistent, not fully exposed at the trip but bit to find. Ran well on reappearance but this is harder; fifth of six in this contest last year. |

3rd (4) (9/2 -35%)Illinois |
9/2(-35%) | (4) Illinois 9/2, Won this last year; well beaten again well beaten in Irish St Leger (Group 1) at The Curragh latest; effective 1m6f+, acts on any; consistent, top-class stayer but looks stable second string on jockey bookings. Beaten only a neck by stablemate Jan Brueghel in 2024 St Leger; won this race last year. |

16/1(+11%) | (1) Sons And Lovers 16/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 4 1/2l in Dubai Gold Cup (Group 2) at Meydan latest; effective 10-15f, suited by a sound surface; consistent at G2/3 level, fit after spell in Middle East. Incurs 5lb penalty for Group 2 handicap win at Riyadh; faces a stiffer assignment. |

5th (2) (6/1 +57%)Al Qareem |

Good strike-rate; Chester record reads 112, the final effort in this race 12 months ago. |

6th (3) (50/1 +0%)Beylerbeyi |
50/1(+0%) | (3) Beylerbeyi 50/1, Too much to do off modest pace in race dominated from front 6l third in a handicap at Newcastle most recent run; effective 12-18f, acts on any; hugely progressive and versatile 6yo who needs a bit more again up in class. Versatile and consistent handicapper but faces a difficult task upped in class. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (125/1 -56%)Real Dream |
125/1(-56%) | (8) Real Dream 125/1, No obvious excuse on UK return down the field in a handicap at Kempton most recent; effective 12-15f, sound surface suits; consistent but tricky to win with and vulnerable at this level. Hasn't won since 2023 and faces a stiff task on these terms. |

Illinois began his 2025 campaign with success in this race, but couldn't quite build on it. He was put in his place by Trawlerman in the Ascot Gold Cup before just failing to successfully concede a stone to subsequent St Leger hero Scandinavia in the Goodwood Cup, and returns with something to prove following an Irish St Leger no-show. Ryan Moore instead partners JAN BRUEGHEL, who denied Illinois in the 2024 Leger and developed into a top middle-distance performer last season. Victory here should tee him up nicely for the defence of his Coronation Cup crown. Rahiebb came within a neck of Classic glory at Doncaster back in the autumn and looks set for a big year.

Ballydoyle 5yos Jan Brueghel and Illinois command major respect but a plausible alternative is the progressive 4yo RAHIEBB.

3/1(+40%) | (5) Indian Sunbird 3/1, Ran to form albeit comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time; usually held up; effective 3m on good; mark probably about right back from a break. Two wins in 2025, the latter over C&D; returns from break on fairly tough mark, though. |

11/4(-100%) | (1) Greedy Smith 11/4, Step back in right direction tried in cheekpieces beaten 2l off a 3lb lower mark at Exeter last time; effective 2m-2m6f, acts on soft and good; not ruled out. 0-6 over hurdles but ran well in defeat when cheekpieces were added last month. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (8/1 -33%)Moviddy |
8/1(-33%) | (4) Moviddy 8/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Fakenham latest; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on sound surface; needs more back hurdling. Placed in valuable chase in January but otherwise disappointing last season; back hurdling. |

The application of cheekpieces sparked GREEDY SMITH into life at Exeter and that career-best second could be the springboard for a breakthrough success. The same headgear goes back on Moviddy, who didn't take to blinkers over fences at Fakenham and now switches back to hurdles. Raby Mere arrives in decent form, while Indian Sunbird is preferred to fellow C&D winner Braganza Bay.

This can go to low-mileage 6yo GREEDY SMITH (nap), who ran a big race in defeat in first-time cheekpieces at Exeter last month.

17/2(-13%) | (5) Great Blasket 17/2, Bit keen, again well below best down the field in a handicap at Wolverhampton most recent; usually held up; returning from a break; suited by 8/9f, seems to act on any except very testing ground; mark keeps easing, needs more. Failed to fire on AW over the winter but yard is going well so he could bounce back. |

Failed to beat a rival in handicaps at Lingfield and Bath in 2026; others appeal more. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (5/1 +29%)Symphony Of Joy |
5/1(+29%) | (6) Symphony Of Joy 5/1, Ran to current form despite being keen throughout when fourth beaten 2l in a novice at Leicester latest; effective 7/8f, bred for 10f+; strong sort, should still improve now handicapping. Promise shown in three runs in 2025; since gelded; could have more to offer on h'cap debut. |

10/1(+38%) | (7) Dutch Kingdom 10/1, Struggled again when down the field in a handicap at Kempton most recent; effective 6/7f, much better on AW than turf; likely up against it. Failed to beat rival on yard debut at Kempton in November; needs to take big step forward. |

50/1(-178%) | (11) Crimson Road 50/1, Respectable effort back on the Flat beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at Bath last time; effective 8-10f on sound surface; others preferred back on the level. Failed to fire for Susan Corbett last year; below-par fifth for new yard at Bath on return. |

66/1(-100%) | (4) Canopus 66/1, Again ran to a moderate level when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Kempton last time; effective 8f, acts on good to soft and AW; hard to make a case for back on Flat. Last for new yard on h'cap debut at Lingfield in February; well held over hurdles since. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (14/1 -56%)Narmar |
14/1(-56%) | (1) Narmar 14/1, Lacked pace down in trip on return, below form beaten 10l in a handicap at Thirsk last time; effective 8-10f on a sound surface; only 1lb above last win mark. Ended 2025 in fine form; off eight months before Thirsk tenth; very much one to consider. |

ZARATHOS took a big step forward when fourth at Wetherby 11 days ago and Dylan Cunha's gelding tops the shortlist on the back of that encouraging performance. Under The Sun caused a shock at Lingfield two starts ago, under this rider, and he is an obvious threat. Crimson Road edges out Narmar and The Hare Rail to be best of the rest.

Lots with chances but NARMAR ended 2025 in fine form and is taken to resume his progress with his Thirsk reappearance under his belt.

Campaigned only over 6f, mostly on AW; goes into unknown territory trip-wise. |

10/1(-43%) | (13) King Of Thunder 10/1, First career win on handicap debut, well handicapped when landing a handicap by a short-head off a 4lb lower mark at Haydock last time; top course trainer; probably effective 7f on a sound surface; needs to bounce back. Local runner bidding to make it 2-2 in handicaps; should be well primed; highly respected. |

Showed his 2yo form for Mick Appleby over 5f/6f; something to prove upped in trip. |

11th (14) (28/1 0%)I'm Just Ken |
28/1(0%) | (14) I'm Just Ken 28/1, Hampered late when closing, improved beaten 3l in a novice at Doncaster last time; top course trainer; wide draw; probably effective 7f, acts on AW, sound surfaces should suit; possibly more to come now handicapping. Could do well in handicaps at the right level but this is a tough starting point. |

12th (7) (28/1 -12%)Utmost Good Faith |
28/1(-12%) | (7) Utmost Good Faith 28/1, Yard won this last year; scored by 3l off a 7lb lower mark at Wolverhampton three starts back; wide draw; suited by 7f, acts on yielding and AW, speed-test suits; races freely, has progressed may now have plateaued. Failed to transfer his AW form back to turf last time; others preferred. |

George Boughey saddled the winner of this 12 months ago and teams up with his 2000 Guineas-winning jockey Billy Loughnane with Mcmurray, who is the pick of the yard's trio and signed off his first campaign with a hat-trick. His stablemate Moonfall is partnered by Ryan Moore and must be taken seriously but FACTUAL has an edge in match fitness, having bettered his Lingfield second at Newcastle, and his sole previous appearance on turf resulted in a debut triumph at Salisbury. Archer Royal and King Of Thunder are a couple more to consider.

The attractively weighted and well-drawn KING OF THUNDER (nap) is preferred, ahead of Factual.

9/4(-29%) | (2) Island Getaway 9/4, Some promise on debut well beaten in a 4yo bumper here only start; improvement likely and should go well in a weak race here. Made only a mildly encouraging debut when well-held fifth of eight over C&D last month. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/1 -10%)As You Were |
11/1(-10%) | (1) As You Were 11/1, £22,000 Maxios gelding; dam runner-up in a point, related to a 2m4f hurdles winner; probably best watched on debut. £22,000 3yo; second foal; dam runner-up in a point; yard not known for winning bumpers. |

ISLAND GETAWAY showed his inexperience here, but there was promise to take from that fifth placing and the booking of Sean Bowen suggests connections expect him to take a significant step forward. Meli Melo D'angos faded tamely at Hereford so the chief threats are likely to lurk among the unraced brigade. St Julie is related to the yard's Listed-winning hurdler St Irene, who landed a bumper on debut, and looks Nick Scholfield's primary hope, ahead of fellow Blue Bresil filly St Zoe.

Tentative preference in what looks a modest bumper is for newcomer ST JULIE.

100/1(-52%) | (7) Majestic Leo 100/1, Never in it from off the pace down in trip down the field in a handicap at Bath most recent; effective 10-14f on Flat, acts on AW; has had wind problems and lost form completely. Yet to offer much for his current yard, beating just two in 1m handicap at Bath last month. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (14/1 +13%)Douglas Dc |
14/1(+13%) | (3) Douglas Dc 14/1, Outclassed down the field in a handicap hurdle at Newbury most recent; effective 10-12f; others stronger back on the Flat. Still without a win on the Flat and off since below-par effort over hurdles in November. |

33/1(-175%) | (8) Cribbins 33/1, Never in it from off the pace down the field in a novice at Kempton most recent; blinkers first time; looked limited so far. Little show in a trio of Flat runs; blinkered/tongue tied for his handicap debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (150/1 -200%)Almavillalobas |
150/1(-200%) | (12) Almavillalobas 150/1, Never in it from off the pace beaten 7l in a classified race at Lingfield last time; off a short-break; up markedly in trip, loads to prove. Yet to make the frame in her eight runs to date; takes a big step up in trip now. |

Recent Bath scorer Moon Over The Sea is the most frequent winner in this line-up and he's undoubtedly one of the more appealing options, but there is a lot to like about STINTINO SUNSET. The six-year-old returns to turf following a trio of placed efforts on the all-weather and the C&D winner could build on those performances from 7lb below her last winning mark. Wolverhampton victor Belle Amie has few miles on the clock and is also noted.

The consistent MOON OVER THE SEA (nap) goes unpenalised for his recent apprentice handicap success at Bath, so is hard to oppose.

50/1(-178%) | (10) Wanderlust 50/1, Yard won this last year; ran to form when winning a 3yo race at Angers by 4l last time; effective 10-12f, acts on soft, good; consistent in France where a winner, may just need this on stable debut. Made all in maiden at Angers (10.5f, soft) last September; left Andre Fabre for 44,000gns. |

5/1(+58%) | (9) Seagolazo 5/1, Ran to form back from break but looked in need of stiffer test beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark at Redcar last time; visor first time; effective up to 12f, acts on any, likes soft; on long losing run but handicapper is relenting and longer trip a plus. Inconsistent but headgear record gives encouragement for this first-time visor; wide draw. |

12/1(+25%) | (7) Spioradalta 12/1, Improved a little down in class landing a handicap by a head off a 5lb lower mark at Ripon last time; effective 8-12f, acts on any; on an upward trajectory, mark now high enough. Five wins in 2025, one of them C&D, and he's back on the scoresheet in 2026; drawn widest. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (14) (6/4 +63%)Jupiter Ammon |
6/4(+63%) | (14) Jupiter Ammon 6/4, Ran to form back in a handicap beaten a length off a 1lb lower mark at Newbury last time; cheekpieces first time; effective 8-12f, acts on any, goes well on testing ground; game and consistent. Often bang there but he's 0-10; place claims again and cheekpieces are added. |

Jupiter Ammon is nicely drawn and could show improved form now tried in first-time cheekpieces, while Rastnet would be no surprise winner judged on her consistent performances on the all-weather. It might be worth chancing CELEBORN, who represents the 2000 Guineas-winning connections and appreciated the return to a sounder surface at Epsom last year when scoring on his seasonal bow. That was just his second start in a handicap and there could be more to come from the gelding now he stretches out in trip.

Celeborn would have been the selection but is drawn a little too high for comfort, leaving LET'S DREAM as the top option.

11/8(+45%) | (3) Happy Chandler 11/8, Improved up in trip landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Leicester last time; effective 7-10f, acts on soft, fast and AW; new mark asks more but in form at least. Has had excuses on his last two starts; promise on turf for former yard; not discounted. |

33/1(-50%) | (6) Fighting Poet 33/1, Never involved beaten 5l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; usually held up; effective 10-12f, best on fast ground, acts on AW; out of form. 1m2f Brighton win last summer brings him into it; may come on for this seasonal return. |

28/1(-180%) | (8) Hawaiian King 28/1, Below from down in trip down the field in a handicap at Bath most recent; blinkers first time; effective 8-10f, acts on AW; mark keeps falling, needs more. Bits of form on AW but tailed off on last month's turf debut; new headgear tried today. |

8th (4) (14/1 -87%)Read All About It |
14/1(-87%) | (4) Read All About It 14/1, Run of race, improved tried in cheekpieces beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time; off a short-break; effective around 8-10f, acts on sound surface; needs more but is coming off a better effort. Back to form in first-time cheekpieces in February (9.4f); good chance if building on it. |

HAPPY CHANDLER recorded a convincing win when tried over 10 furlongs for the first time at Leicester and, with more improvement likely, a 5lb rise should be no barrier to further success. Bizou merits consideration following a pleasing return at Wolverhampton in March and although seemingly at his best on an artificial surface, the in-form Haveagobeau should not be underestimated.

This is trappy but BETA READER could be worth chancing. There have been excuses for lesser efforts on his last two runs.

80/1(-21%) | (7) Jimmy's Army 80/1, Never in it from off the pace well beaten in a novice at Southwell only start; much more needed and not easy to make a case for. Didn't show enough on last month's debut to be of significant interest here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (300/1 -275%)Go On Ollie |
300/1(-275%) | (2) Go On Ollie 300/1, Intrinsic gelding; half-brother to Gleaming Arch, fair at 5f; up against it on debut. Seems very unlikely to meet the standard required on this belated debut. |

Mehmas Champion achieved a useful level of form when trained in Germany and is respected on his British/stable debut, but SONG OF THE CLOUDS looks the safer option. William Haggas' filly, who holds an entry in the Coronation Stakes, was only beaten two lengths into second on her racecourse bow at Newbury last month. A step up to the mile should be in her favour and this represents a fine opportunity. Fozzie might not be far away either.

Group 1-entered filly SONG OF THE CLOUDS is selected to build upon last month's very encouraging debut at Newbury.

The manner in which MYTHICAL BAY broke through at Wolverhampton in January gives hope he'll relish this step up to 1m4f. Andrew Balding's charge was headed inside the final furlong over the extended 1m1f, but rallied to lead again close home and is now of huge interest making his handicap bow back on the grass. There are a few other unexposed three-year-olds in here boasting similar profiles, though, and it would be foolish to dismiss Moment Of Light, Galilean Quality and Magnetude.

Last-time-out winners MOMENT OF LIGHT, Galilean Quality and Mythical Bay are preferred in that order.

Won over hurdles in 2024, jumped untidily and never in contention at Naas on chasing debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (13/8 +28%)Kilgame |
13/8(+28%) | (6) Kilgame 13/8, Improved appreciating stiff track down in trip when winning a maiden hurdle at Navan by 3l last time; effective 2m-2m3f with cut; good chance with promise of more to come over fences. Got his career back on track when winning a 23-runner maiden hurdle at Navan in March. |

KAROLINE BANBOU can provide Harry Cobden with a winner on his first visit to Wexford. A faller at Leopardstown on her most recent start, the Willie Mullins-trained mare had finished runner-up on her first two runs over fences. One of the best of these over flights, the form of her maiden hurdle win received a huge boost from the runner-up at Punchestown last week. With the minimum trip likely to suit her better than her main rivals, this looks a nice opportunity. Farfromnowhere would arguably prefer a stiffer test, but has to hold claims on the evidence of her first two runs over fences. Kilgame is interesting being sent straight over fences following a maiden hurdle win last time out.

Paul Nolan's runner FARFROMNOWHERE was the best of these over hurdles and is worth risking despite her preference for longer trips.

16/1(-33%) | (4) Margorie 16/1, Best work late tried in cheekpieces when down in trip beaten 4l in a handicap at Haydock last time; effective 6f, acts on soft and good to firm; more needed. Shock C&D win last September came on soft ground; little impact in handicaps since. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (28/1 +15%)Dreambird Dolly |
28/1(+15%) | (11) Dreambird Dolly 28/1, Below form, awkward coming out of stalls when down the field in a handicap at Bath most recent; effective 5/6f, best on sound surface; bit to prove on recent evidence. Exposed 16-race maiden; absent for six months and easy enough to look elsewhere. |

Candy Warhol has been knocking at the door of late and is expected to go close, while the unexposed Margorie might appreciate a return to this C&D. Even so, preference is for PHOENIX MOON. Denis Coakley's charge pulled her chance away at Nottingham following a Lingfield triumph, but is more than capable should she drop her head. Just Jump has largely struggled on the all-weather of late, but he's unexposed on grass and is favourably drawn.

Phoenix Moon will click on turf at some point but TWIRLER, a C&D winner on a fair mark, may be able to defy top weight.

10/3(+5%) | (4) One Of Our Own 10/3, Ran to form up in trip when fourth beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap here latest; effective 6f, not really proven at 7f, acts on any; return to 6f in her favour. C&D winner who has run two solid races in defeat this year; in the mix once again. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (4/1 +43%)Mister Sky Blue |
4/1(+43%) | (7) Mister Sky Blue 4/1, Again below form beaten 8l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; returning from a break; suited by 6f, acts on any; not ruled out off reduced mark. Poor strike-rate but he came to hand early last year and he's on a good mark now; chance. |

5th (5) (6/1 +40%)Due Respect |
6/1(+40%) | (5) Due Respect 6/1, Neeed run beaten 6l in a handicap at Musselburgh last time; effective 7f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; inconsistent. Good course form; sharper for last week's return; appealing claims back at 6f. |

14/1(+36%) | (3) Night Emperor 14/1, Never in it from off the pace on return from a long absence well beaten in a handicap at Newcastle latest; off a short-break; effective at 6f; might still need this. Low-key stable debut in February (7f, AW; after long absence); not easily recommended. |

7th (10) (22/1 -10%)Ziva's Star |
22/1(-10%) | (10) Ziva's Star 22/1, Lacked pace back down to 5f beaten 4l off this mark at Doncaster last time; usually held up; effective 5/6f, probably acts on any; moderate maiden. Exposed 18-race maiden but boasts the odd piece of form that would give her frame claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (12/1 0%)Indy's Angel |
12/1(0%) | (9) Indy's Angel 12/1, Again ran to a poor level beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; effective 5/6f on a sound surface; lost form since end of 2025. Yet to shine in two runs this year; others bring more compelling claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (17/2 -143%)Auntie Jo |
17/2(-143%) | (6) Auntie Jo 17/2, Ran to form after a sluggish start beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Doncaster last time; suited by 5/6f, acts on good and AW; unreliable but competitive mark. Running well since a visor went on; each-way shout at least with promising claimer booked. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (11/1 -10%)Let's Go Hugo |
11/1(-10%) | (1) Let's Go Hugo 11/1, Again below form beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Catterick last time; effective 5/6f, acts on sound surface; bounce back needed. All wins at 5f but has run well over C&D; drops in grade and can't be ruled out. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (28/1 +15%)She's A Dark Horse |
28/1(+15%) | (12) She's A Dark Horse 28/1, Again ran to a poor level down the field in a handicap at Newcastle most recent; blinkers first time; returning from a break; effective at 6f, acts on AW; stiff task. Unplaced all 13 starts; new headgear needs to prove transformative. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (100/1 -203%)Sadiiki |
100/1(-203%) | (11) Sadiiki 100/1, Again below form down the field in a handicap at Newcastle most recent; returning from a break; effective 6f, acts on AW; hard to fancy. Unplaced all nine starts, recording a peak RPR of 44; hard to recommend. |

This is quite an open contest and only a tentative vote can go to ONE OF OUR OWN. Rebecca Menzies' mare has claimed fourth spot on both her starts this season, but she continues to race from a competitive mark and a sixth career win looks sure to come sooner rather than later. Auntie Jo didn't run too badly at Doncaster and enters calculations along with Canaria Sun and Let's Go Hugo.

Hurstwood should go well under these conditions but DUE RESPECT has a good Redcar record and can benefit from the drop in trip.

Straight into handicap company for chase debut and inexperience a concern. |

40/1(-82%) | (9) Shannon Bank 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Sligo latest where let down by jumping; effective 2-2 1/2m; in form until latest; needs more switched to chasing. Ex Gavin Cromwell; absent since October and debuts over fences for new yard. |

8/1(+43%) | (12) Ernie From Nurney 8/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Naas latest; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on any; mark probably stiff enough. Dual hurdles winner but just sporadic glimpses of form nowadays. |

40/1(-60%) | (7) Pahlavi 40/1, Went clear, made too much use of beaten 8l in a handicap hurdle at Limerick last time; suited by 2m on good; in fair form over hurdles recently. Absent since October and opposable on second chase start. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (13/2 -63%)Let Him B |
13/2(-63%) | (10) Let Him B 13/2, Scored by 3/4l off a 13lb lower mark at Down Royal penultimate start; ran to form second beaten 5l off 95 last time, 2lb higher here; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on good, soft; unreliable but could remain ahead of mark now switched to fences. Improving 6yo could make an immediate impact chasing although drop in trip not be ideal. |

Having made a bold bid from the front before eventually finishing second on his chasing debut at Tramore, COURTBRACK BOY can gain compensation. Jumping well on his first start over fences, the Terence O'Brien-trained gelding was only headed on the run to the last, before keeping on well for minor honours. Sure to be all the better for that experience, he should enjoy this tight track which favours those who race towards the pace. In decent form over hurdles recently, Let Him B has to be of interest on his chasing debut. Course winner Tequila Talkin' also merits respect for the local Paul Nolan yard.

Progressive over hurdles of late, perhaps LET HIM B can make a winndebut over fences

9/2(+40%) | (6) Bayraat 9/2, Ran to form beaten 2 1/2l off a 2lb higher mark at Southwell last time; usually held up; effective 5/6f, acts on any, but may prefer give; out of form. Poor strike-rate but returns at a low level and he has gone well fresh in the past. |

16/1(0%) | (9) Jamie's Choice 16/1, Again ran to a poor level beaten 7l in a handicap at Catterick last time; suited by 5f and a sound surface, may handle soft; out of form. It's been a while since she was at her best and 6f is the query today. |

10th (5) (33/1 -136%)Jeany May |
33/1(-136%) | (5) Jeany May 33/1, Below form tried in cheekpieces beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; effective 5f, acts on soft, good to firm and AW; in moderate form. Two uninspiring efforts this year and stamina still to be proven; others are much safer. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (200/1 -300%)Raja Charger |
200/1(-300%) | (11) Raja Charger 200/1, Again failed to beat a rival well beaten in a novice at Thirsk latest; cheekpieces first time; yet to show any ability. Poor novice form over further; drop in trip/headgear not enough to tempt. |

STORMY PEARL made a promising return at Thirsk last month, filling the runner-up spot, and from just 1lb higher, she is fancied to go one place better. Emerald Army was a few lengths in arrears, but his position in the betting that day suggests he might do better this time. The addition of first-time blinkers may well have a positive effect on Run This Way.

Bayraat and Emerald Army are greatly respected but this drop in grade could see BARMYBLADE return to form.

Has posted two good efforts over 5f at Beverley; solid claims switched to the AW. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (25/1 -285%)Bluestone Lady |
25/1(-285%) | (6) Bluestone Lady 25/1, Tired and got unbalanced late, similar form to debut beaten 7 1/4l in a novice race at Ripon last time; bred to be a miler ultimately; quite small, light-framed filly and yet to show much ability. Ran to a similar level in two starts on turf (5f/6f); better needed on this AW debut. |

11/4(+39%) | (3) Claret And Blues 11/4, Fair effort and not knocked about late beaten 5l in a novice event at Pontefract on debut; sprint-bred, sound surfaces should suit action; should do better. Faded into fifth on his debut at Pontefract (third has won since); may come on for that. |

28/1(0%) | (2) Ricky's Rocket 28/1, Tired badly and well beaten in a maiden at Newbury only start; sprint-bred; all to prove after very ordinary debut. Out of a 5f Listed winner but beat only one home at Newbury on last month's debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/1 -100%)Mardy Bum |
9/1(-100%) | (5) Mardy Bum 9/1, 18 Mar; No Nay Never filly; half-sister to Tanaka, moderate at 5f; dam moderate at 7f; tough enough task on debut. March foal; dam 7f winner (RPR 55); makes her debut and the market should be informative. |

Dreamlover and Hoosier make more than enough appeal on paper to warrant market checks ahead of their debuts, but this should be a good opportunity for LAURALYNN. Declan Carroll's filly finished third at Beverley on her first start before going one place better at the Westwood venue next time, and any further progress might suffice. Claret And Blues is also noted.

Claret And Blues (second choice) showed ability on his debut at Pontefract, but a chance is taken on newcomer DREAMLOVER.

13/2(-63%) | (10) Kilbrin Rocco 13/2, Returned to form landing a handicap by a neck off a 4lb lower mark at Tramore last time; effective 2m-2m4f on heavy, good; inconsistent. Possibly value for more than the neck margin when winning at Tramore, only 4lb higher. |

9/1(+44%) | (5) Baltic Bird 9/1, Did not stay well beaten in a novice chase at Cheltenham latest; effective 2m4f-2m6f, may not get 3m; needs this drop in trip. Ground should be coming right for him now, probably needs further than this, no recent run. |

20/1(+0%) | (1) War Correspondent 20/1, Pulled up in a claiming hurdle at Tramore latest; effective 2m, acts on soft, good; inconsistent C&D winner, chase mark looks fair. Not an easy horse to win with and has to rebound now after a failure at Tramore. |

9/1(-50%) | (7) Trasna Na Pairce 9/1, Keen, made too much use of down the field in a handicap chase at Leopardstown most recent; returning from a break; effective 2m-2m6f; may do better when stepped back up in trip. Hurdle wins at Clonmel last season were over further, the ground should be ideal for him. |

6th (4) (14/1 -75%)Captain Conby |
14/1(-75%) | (4) Captain Conby 14/1, Failed to build on debut down the field in a maiden at Bellewstown most recent; effective 12f; useful jumper, likely to need this outing. Should be sharper now following a comeback on the Flat, had very useful form in 2023. |

3/1(-20%) | (3) Come On The Lads 3/1, Did it cosily, improved benefitting from patient ride off strong pace landing a handicap by 3 1/4l off a 8lb lower mark at Limerick last time; effective 2m on good; generally consistent. 11/1(+31%) | (6) Dutch Schultz 11/1, Never threatened, needed run well beaten in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse latest; effective 2-2 1/2m; bit frustrating. Not a bad run at Fairyhouse after a break, Come On The Lads seems to be yard's number one. |

9th (9) (9/2 +63%)Cappucino |
9/2(+63%) | (9) Cappucino 9/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Thurles latest; off a short-break; effective around 2m, acts on any; more to come over fences. Had an excuse when pulled up at Thurles last time, definite chance if restored to his best. |

|PU| (2) (13/2 +19%)An Peann Dearg |
13/2(+19%) | (2) An Peann Dearg 13/2, Ran to current form seeing out the longer trip beaten 8l in QuinnBet Handicap Chase (Listed) at Leopardstown last time; off a short-break; effective 2m1f, suited by decent ground; inconsistent. Sights are lowered here after running in stronger company at Leopardstown in the winter. |

A dual winner at this track, CROWSATEDAPPLETART can register a third Wexford success. The Michael Winters-trained nine-year-old went on to win at Limerick after scoring here twice last summer and now finds himself on a mark of 117 over fences. However, with leading conditional jockey Michael Kenneally taking 5lb off his back, he looks sure to run a big race. Recent Limerick scorer Come On The Lads has scope for further improvement on what is only his fourth start over fences. Former smart handicap hurdler Captain Conby was absent for well over two years prior to a run on the Flat last month. If coming on from that outing and retaining ability, he shouldn't be ruled out.

This is a track at which winning course form is an important asset, and CROWSATEDAPPLETART is worth supporting on that score

6th (1) (3/1 -50%)Grazeon Sunshine |
3/1(-50%) | (1) Grazeon Sunshine 3/1, Again ran to a moderate level well beaten in a novice at Nottingham latest; effective 2m in bumpers; could do better now upped in trip in handicaps. Useful in bumpers; yet to shine on the Flat but should be a different proposition today. |

Grazeon Sunshine boasts strong NH form in bumpers and won in that sphere at Sedgefield in December before running a solid race in defeat at Aintree on Boxing Day. His Flat form is nothing to get excited about, but he'll likely take a big step forward on his handicap debut. Nevertheless, KITSUNE POWER gets the nod based on his pleasing placed effort at Catterick, which was followed by another solid third at Beverley, and experience can win the day. Billy No Mates is next best.

Stepping up in trip and switching to minor handicap company could see GRAZEON SUNSHINE leave his novice form well behind him.

Off the mark when winning by a nose at Newcastle in March; solid effort at Thirsk since. |

10th (8) (16/1 +0%)Soames Forsyte |
16/1(+0%) | (8) Soames Forsyte 16/1, Never had a lot of daylight and too much to do beaten 4l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; effective 7/8f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; running a little below best recently. Four-time course winner who was fifth in a race won by Avatar Jet over C&D 12 days ago. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (40/1 -150%)Gallant Lion |
40/1(-150%) | (5) Gallant Lion 40/1, Comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Hereford last time; out of form when last seen on the Flat in October; effective 10-16f, acts on any; needs further. Only 1lb higher than for his win at Chepstow last May but all wins have been at 1m2f+. |

Hold-up performer ROARING RALPH shouldn't be inconvenienced by a wide berth and looks worth sticking with following a hat-trick of C&D wins. The latest was his most impressive and although a 9lb rise will ask sterner questions of him, he remains competitively treated. Avatar Jet was also successful over track and trip latest so must be respected and don't rule out the unexposed Holly Mist, who has posted a couple of positive efforts since entering handicaps.

Roaring Ralph (second choice) is respected but HOLLY MIST (nap) has run two solid races of late and can get off the mark.

4/5(-20%) | (4) Hiddenvalley Lake 4/5, Below form of last season's win in this comfortably held in Liverpool Hurdle (Grade 1) at Aintree last time; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on any; Grade 1 winner below par so far this term but the clear class edge switched to chasing. Let down by jumping on chase debut back in late 2023 but Grade 1-winning hurdler since. |

6/1(-20%) | (3) Eclipse Chaser 6/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse latest; effective 2m3f-2m5f, acts on yielding, good; mark demands more, in poor form and needs more on chase debut. Disappointed in handicap hurdles last term; could make a better chaser. |

4th (5) (5/1 +64%)Long Branch |
5/1(+64%) | (5) Long Branch 5/1, Ran to form but looked in need of further when fourth beaten 21l in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown latest; effective around 2m-2m7f, acts on soft, good; inconsistent of late but a threat on chase debut. 118-rated hurdler needs to improve for switch to fences to feature in a major way. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (16/1 -45%)American Jukebox |
16/1(-45%) | (1) American Jukebox 16/1, Taken on up front and did too much too soon down the field in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown most recent; off a short-break; effective 2m3f-2m6f, acts on yielding and soft; in fair form for top yard over hurdles and could have more to offer over fences. American Mike's half-brother rated 117 over hurdles; more likely needed on chase debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (12/1 +0%)One Big Boum |
12/1(+0%) | (6) One Big Boum 12/1, Made too much use of comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time; in good form prior; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m4f, suited by cut; back in form of late but ground looks quick enough on chase debut. Progressive hurdler upped in trip for chase debut and could go well if taking to fences. |

A Grade 1 winner over hurdles, HIDDENVALLEY LAKE should have too much class for these. Lightly raced last season, the Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding ran a solid race on his most recent appearance when finishing mid-division at Aintree. Although a faller three out on his only previous start over fences back in 2023, he was still in contention at the time. Connections reverted to hurdling and, given his rate of progression in subsequent starts, it's no great surprise they resisted the temptation to go back chasing until now. One Big Boum looks the biggest threat given that he tends to race prominently so this track should suit. D Art D Art looks next best.

Connections have opted to give Grade 1-winning hurdler HIDDENVALLEY LAKE another shot at chasing and he can't be opposed

40/1(-43%) | (3) Palmarian 40/1, Below form well beaten in a handicap at Pontefract latest; effective at 7f, only decent form on good to soft; step back up in trip a plus. No obvious promise in two runs for new yard last month. |

11/2(-57%) | (6) Looks Fantastic 11/2, Back to best down in trip and returning to turf landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 3lb lower mark here last time; effective 7-10f, acts on a sound surface; erratic but new mark looks competitive. 3lb rise for recent C&D wins looks fair given they were quite well strung out in behind. |

7th (2) (4/1 +0%)Vince Le Prince |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Vince Le Prince 4/1, Ran to form beaten 3/4l off this mark at Catterick last time; top course jockey/trainer combination; suited by 7f, acts on any though poor both AW starts; should again go well. Two good seconds at Catterick this spring; won his previous outing over C&D; player. |

8th (4) (10/1 +9%)Tropez Power |
10/1(+9%) | (4) Tropez Power 10/1, Never in it from off the pace beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark at Beverley last time; effective 7/8f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; mark easing, needs more. Sole turf success back in 2021 and two years since latest AW win; sixth on reappearance. |

Vince Le Prince just keeps on finding one too good at Catterick and while he'd be no surprise winner here, the percentage play is to take him on with LORD CAPULET. He's not shy of getting his head in front and has been in good nick on the all-weather this year, evidenced by his return to winning ways at Newcastle. Looks Fantastic is another to bear in mind.

A 3lb rise for last month's C&D success may underestimate LOOKS FANTASTIC. Vince Le Prince can give him most to do.

15/2(+17%) | (4) Real Jack 15/2, Solid effort on handicap debut and might have been 1/2l closer with a clear run beaten 3 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; effective at 6f, acts on good and AW; may come on from reappearance, mark a bit stiff. 13/2(+28%) | (2) Cosmic Man 13/2, Very poor effort on seasonal debut up to 7f in a handicap at Beverley; effective 6f, yet to prove stays further, acts on soft and good; all to prove after terrible reappearance. Promise last year but never figured on his handicap debut at Beverley after a slow start. |

11th (11) (33/1 -18%)Everydaysasaturday |
33/1(-18%) | (11) Everydaysasaturday 33/1, Bit keen early and didn't seem to stay 7f beaten 8l in a handicap here last time; usually held up; effective 6f, acts on good; stamina a major concern. 0-6 and failed to beat a rival home over this C&D 35 days ago; since been dropped 2lb. |

STELLA LUCENTE has filled the runner-up spot on each of her three starts so far and glory could now await the Earthlight filly on this handicap bow. Cosmic Man might fare better than he did on his seasonal return at Beverley last month, and Popty Ping should be happier back on an artificial surface. C&D winner Sporting Light is another to consider.

Stepping up to 7f could suit REAL JACK after an encouraging handicap debut over 6f and he is preferred to Sporting Light.

|PU| (3) (10/3 -21%)Kiwi De Cotte |
10/3(-21%) | (3) Kiwi De Cotte 10/3, Improved when winning the Winner Of Two at Ballysteen by a head last time; multiple point winner could get involved on rules debut. Has won both completed starts in points, stable in flying form, valuable 7lb claimed. |

TIFFINY'S GIRL must shoulder a 5lb penalty having won at the Cork Easter festival last month but, even so, she is fancied to go in again. The daughter of Mahler wasn't winning out of turn following a number of creditable efforts in the pointing sphere and with the prospect of further improvement likely, she appears to have been found another decent opportunity. It has been feast or famine for Kiwi De Cotte between the flags of late but he ought to be more than competitive in a race of this nature, whilst Black Dakota (second) can confirm his superiority over Thehandsomecharmer (fourth) after their meeting at Rathcannon last month.

Liam Burke's young mare TIFFINY'S GIRL (nap) looked like an improving type when winning at Cork and can follow up

9th (2) (28/1 -40%)Ron O |
28/1(-40%) | (2) Ron O 28/1, Below form when down the field in a handicap at York most recent; returning from long layoff; effective up to 10f; might need this. Very useful at his best and reduced mark to work with now back with his owner-trainer. |

REAL GAIN showed a bit more on his reappearance at Newmarket's Craven meeting and could be worth chancing in this company. There were definite signs of promise on his first appearance for Hamad Al Jehani and a repeat of last year's Goodwood third to Rhoscolyn would give him every chance. Two B Tanned won well at Musselburgh and commands respect, likewise Lingfield runner-up El Matador.

A useful handicap which is probably best narrowed down to well-treated pair TWO B TANNED and El Matador, with the former preferred.

3/1(-9%) | (2) Fort Augustus 3/1, Back to better form fitted with cheekpieces landing a handicap by a short-head off a 2lb lower mark here last time; suited by 6f, gets 7f, probably acts on any; weight may just anchor. Off the mark at the 18th attempt when winning over C&D 26 days ago; chance off 2lb higher. |

25/1(+0%) | (11) The Cutest 25/1, Raced too freely but about to balance of recent form beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; effective 6f on AW; in poor form. 0-12; never-dangerous 6th at Wolverhampton 31 days ago; worth this first go beyond 6f. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (40/1 -60%)Jubilee Time |
40/1(-60%) | (10) Jubilee Time 40/1, Sweating and tired badly down the field in a maiden at Wolverhampton most recent run; effective 6f, acts on AW; ran ok behind two good horses second start but other efforts destroy confidence. Well beaten in three 6f maiden events; steps up in trip with better needed on h'cap debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (12/1 -33%)Megaphone |
12/1(-33%) | (1) Megaphone 12/1, Ran to recent form beaten 3l off a 2lb higher mark here last time; effective 5/6f, acts on good to soft and good to firm but suited by AW; mark has eased and competitively weighted. Has posted two solid efforts since wearing the hood on its own; each-way contender. |

A narrow winner over C&D last month, Fort Augustus has to be respected off just 2lb higher on this occasion. That said, marginal preference is for MEGAPHONE, who may improve now stepped up to 7f and his last couple of efforts suggest that he can be successful off this mark. Starshot and the returning Reputation are others who make the shortlist.

Fort Augustus is second choice behind JET WARRIOR who had a luckless passage at Thirsk on his handicap debut 19 days ago.

125/1(-150%) | (3) Generous Valentine 125/1, Ran to form comfortably held in a bumper at Stratford last time; absent for very lengthy period; modest form so far in bumpers. Well beaten in two bumpers in Britain in 2023 and has shown little in points. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (17/2 +0%)Princess Aveen |
17/2(+0%) | (7) Princess Aveen 17/2, Very promising debut 2 1/2l winner in a maiden at Fairyhouse on debut; point winner starts out under rules with yard in flying form. Seemed to have plenty in hand when winning a 15-runner race at Fairyhouse, stable in form. |

Dual point-to-point winner DEDUDEFROMHOUSTON wasn't beaten far into second at Ballynoe in the Gain Mares Final last month and is fancied to make an immediate impact now sent under Rules. Miss Appleberry and Silent Temptation defeated subsequent hunter chase winner Tiffiny's Girl (runs in the 7.08) when landing their maiden point-to-points and both ought to be more than competitive. Wilton Mills Trier was unable to justify strong market support in a similar event at Cork last time out but she may do better with that experience under her belt.

The experience gained by WILTON MILLS TRIER when third in a similar event at Cork may be enough to make the difference here

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (14/1 -17%)King Of Yorkshire |
14/1(-17%) | (1) King Of Yorkshire 14/1, Again failed to threaten beaten 10l in a novice at Newcastle last time; bred for 8-10f; type to do better handicapping up in trip now. Well held in three novices last autumn but possible improver in handicaps; check betting. |

The unexposed MOHMENTOUS had plenty in hand when winning at Bath last week and Ollie Sangster's gelding is 3lb well-in here, despite a 6lb penalty. With that in mind, he is hard to oppose and gets the vote ahead of Very Demure, who was second off this mark at Yarmouth last time. The rest need to improve, but Harswell River is the pick of them.

If MOHMENTOUS (nap) is in the same form as when winning readily at Bath last week he's likely to win again.

3rd (6) (11/1 +8%)Desert Charm |
11/1(+8%) | (6) Desert Charm 11/1, Needs even further in trip beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Kempton last time; effective 1m on sound surface; plenty to prove in handicaps. Sole win came in a classified event last June; isn't sure to be suited by drop back to 7f. |

20/1(+0%) | (9) Blue Seeker 20/1, Bit better effort up in trip beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; effective 7/8f, acts with cut but best recent form on AW; out of form. Won once for his previous yard but mostly struggled since joining this stable. |

SHADES OF MAY arrives here having won three of his last four starts and that includes a C&D success last time. That form was boosted when the second won last week and Mark Usher's in-form gelding merits plenty of respect off just 3lb higher. Autumn Angel is likely to be in the mix once again, while On Key and Tickets are others to consider.

On Key (second choice) posted two good efforts here last month but SHADES OF MAY is taken to complete the hat-trick.

11/1(-100%) | (1) Brootally 11/1, Improved when winning a maiden at Loughanmore by 5l last time; form of point form looks modest and needs more under rules. Off for almost a year before a much-improved display to win a point, long journey for this. |

40/1(-433%) | (5) The Boysofairhill 40/1, Improved when winning a maiden at Dromahane by 2 1/2l last time; cheekpieces first time; progressive in points but that form weak enough. Had shown little before winning a maiden at Dromahane on his fifth outing, cheekpieces on. |

8th (6) (40/1 +20%)Torquemada |
40/1(+20%) | (6) Torquemada 40/1, Pulled up in a maiden at Ballycrystal latest; blinkers first time; showed nothing in points. In good hands with Ellmarie Holden but failed to shine in two starts in points blinkered. |

THE FARMERS BAR made a pleasing start when third on his point-to-point debut last month and can put that experience to good use. The winner and runner-up were later sold for 200,000 and 100,000 euros respectively, so it would come as no great surprise to see another big run from Ian McCarthy's gelding. Jetaway Mountain was narrowly denied in a point-to-point at Peppards Castle last October and is considered along with Brootalley, who put a trio of incompletions behind him to score at Loughanmore recently.

The safest choice is MAJESTIC HORIZON. He had subsequent track winners behind when winning a point for Cormac Doyle's respected nursery

50/1(-79%) | (8) The Floors Munky 50/1, Again ran to a poor level down the field in a maiden at Catterick most recent; bred for 8f+; improvement needed. Well held on all three starts but has more realistic chance in handicaps. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (11/1 +31%)Dream Forever |
11/1(+31%) | (9) Dream Forever 11/1, Poor return to turf when down the field in a handicap at Pontefract most recent; in good form prior; suited by 6/7f, acts on AW; drop in trip might suit. Reached frame in AW handicaps first two runs this year and poor draw back on turf since. |

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (2) (22/1 -38%)Kwidsin |
22/1(-38%) | (2) Kwidsin 22/1, Again ran to a poor level beaten 7l in a handicap at Southwell last time; yet to show anything. Yet to build on debut, although he might have needed outing on handicap debut/return. |

Miss Magic Dragon has to be noted after her Bath win earlier in the week, but a 6lb penalty will make life tougher for her. As a result, preference is for LONG SHOT, who was third over C&D on his seasonal return last month and the unexposed gelding may have more to offer. Woody Y Fernandez and Ganthorpe are others to note.

In a race where few arrive compelling claims the suggestion is MONK'S HILL who shaped last time as if this return to 6f may help.

1st (3) (11/10 +51%)Jumeirah Sands |
11/10(+51%) | (3) Jumeirah Sands 11/10, Improved for debut experience when winning a novice here by a neck last time; effective 6f, acts on AW; form of novice win had knocks, needs more under penalty. C&D success on reappearance, despite again starting slowly; respected. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (6/5 +56%)Bintaryana |
6/5(+56%) | (1) Bintaryana 6/5, Improved down in class back from break when winning a maiden at Nottingham by 1 1/4l last time; effective 6f, acts on good; form of maiden win franked, remain competitive under penalty. Prevailed at Nottingham on reappearance; one of the main contenders. |

4th (7) (11/1 0%)Tommie's Angel |
11/1(0%) | (7) Tommie's Angel 11/1, Sold for 70,000 guineas as a yearling; filly by high-class sprinter Dark Angel; full-sister to Heritage House, smart at 7f; probably effective 6f; best watched on debut. 70,000gns yearling; sister to a 6f winner; heed the market signals. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (400/1 -220%)Hever Beauty |
400/1(-220%) | (6) Hever Beauty 400/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability; yet to beat a rival home over 6f on AW. Brings easily the worst form. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (18/1 -13%)Code Girl |
18/1(-13%) | (5) Code Girl 18/1, Pinatubo filly; half-sister to Decrypt, smart at 7f; dam smart at 6f at 2yo and won a novice second time out. Siblings include three winners for her connections; check the betting. |

Jumeirah Sands and Bintaryana both made a winning return to the track last month and are likely to have a big say in the outcome of this, but ENCHANT gets the nod. Karl Burke's filly fetched 300,000 pounds as a two-year-old and wasted no time in breaking her maiden with a half-length success at Pontefract last June. She is James Doyle's only ride on the card so another bold bid is anticipated.

Enchant is respected despite an absence since last June. The other main form players are JUMEIRAH SANDS and Bintaryana.

4th (3) (10/1 +17%)Beggarman |
10/1(+17%) | (3) Beggarman 10/1, Poor effort down the field in a handicap at Newbury most recent; trainer in form; effective 14-16f, acts on any except heavy, goes well at Chelmsford and Ffos Las; veteran may just need this. ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (12/1 -33%)Break Point |

Didn't look an easy ride on his only start for James Owen and has since moved yards. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (15/2 +38%)Educate |
15/2(+38%) | (4) Educate 15/2, Unsuited by way race developed, ran to form beaten 4l off a 1lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time; suited by 10-16f, acts on good but most of form on AW; mark slowly easing but needs more. 2-28; left the impression he could be worth another go at this trip last time. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (18/1 -140%)Zooks |
18/1(-140%) | (7) Zooks 18/1, Ran to current form 12l third in a handicap here most recent run; off a short-break; effective up to 14-16f, acts on good and AW; back below last winning mark but bit more needed. 2-36; below her best since runner-up at Wolverhampton in December; still has place claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (10/1 +38%)Cold Henry |
10/1(+38%) | (8) Cold Henry 10/1, Scored by 2l off a 47lb higher mark at Catterick three starts back; effective 2m, stays well, acts on soft, AW; in moderate form on flat. Bounced back to form returned to the Flat nine days ago, keeping on into fourth over C&D. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (12/1 -300%)Hickton |
12/1(-300%) | (6) Hickton 12/1, Back to form back up in trip on AW return landing a handicap by 3l off a 4lb lower mark here last time; effective 11-14f, acts on soft, good and AW; good course record, revised mark demands more. Returned to form here over 1m6f last time, gaining his second win at this track; up 4lb. |

HICKTON put a couple of lacklustre efforts behind him to score over 1m6f here recently. The son of Kodiac is evidently much happier on an artificial surface than he is on turf and he could be difficult to overhaul if coping with this step up in trip. There is no doubting Charlie Darling's stamina, although he must shoulder a 5lb penalty for a narrow C&D triumph. Captain Robert is most appealing of the remainder.

Dollar's Dream (second choice) is interesting but CHARLIE DARLING can follow up his recent C&D win under a 5lb penalty.
Ths is the racecard key.
