A chance can be taken on TWO TEMPTING, who stepped forward from a disappointing effort in the Lincoln when keeping on into a creditable fourth at Newbury next time. The six-year-old is berthed well in stall one and is only 1lb higher than when successful over C&D in August. Dual course winner Divine Libra was an eye-catching sixth on his seasonal reappearance over 7f at Haydock and he warrants respect stepping up in trip, with Ryan Moore a positive jockey booking. Gorak, second in that Haydock contest, is also noted.

There are plenty of positives for TWO TEMPTING, who ran well last time, won over C&D last August, and has the rail draw.

COLUMNIST, who was third in the Coventry at last year's Royal meeting, is an obvious starting point given he was subsequently pitched into Newmarket's Group 2 Superlative Stakes before heading to Deauville for a crack at the Prix de Cabourg. Those high-class events proved to be just beyond him, but the son of Ardad has now been gelded and could have the quality to make a successful handicap debut. Fellow class-dropper Star Anthem is feared most, while Brave Mission and Power Fizz are shaping up nicely.

Interesting handicap debutant BRAVE MISSION is first choice ahead of Philanthropist and Power Fizz in a warm opener.

It's difficult to rule out any of these and only marginal preference can be afforded to AMMES. James Owen's colt chased home a useful rival at over 1m2f at Kempton recently and is likely to appreciate a step up in trip. If handling a switch to turf along with the course, he should go close. Orionis showed up well for a long way on her return at Wetherby last month and she remains of interest, while Wise Counsellor appeals most of the remainder.

Michael Bell's form and the booking of Ryan Moore hints a big run could be in the offing from 140,000gns yearling THE POUNCING LION.

Despite hanging badly right in the run-in, BLUENOSE BELLE managed to hold on by just under a length at Fontwell last month and is just 2lb higher. The seven-year-old makes only his second handicap start in this sphere and may have more to offer. Rukaana finished third at Hereford last time and sports first-time blinkers, so is one to watch out for. Remarkable Flight is the pick of the remainder.

Going right handed might help BLUENOSE BELLE and she's the token suggestion in an extremely weak handicap.

The betting surrounding the newcomers should be informative, with several boasting striking enough pedigrees to suggest they could make an impact. Supreme Diamond, Society Kiss and Sayidah Hard Spun are just three notable options to keep a close eye on, but RUBY'S ANGEL was an encouraging second when well supported for her Newmarket debut. With that experience to draw upon, the daughter of up-and-coming first-season sire Starman is selected in what should be an informative event.

As a January foal, RUBY'S ANGEL is the oldest of these and it was a big run when made favourite for a good race at Newmarket.

THE FOXES had somewhat of an interrupted campaign last season, but he finished an excellent fourth in the Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin before chasing home Rebel's Romance in a Group 3 in Qatar. Andrew Balding's entire can resume his progress back on home soil this year. Space Legend wasn't disgraced in the Great Voltigeur when last seen and given that he's gone well when fresh previously, must be considered. Liberty Lane might not be far away either.

Certain Lad is respected but preference is for THE FOXES, whose Group 3 second in Qatar in February reads extremely well.

ALL WELL AND GOOD put his underwhelming start over hurdles well behind him when finishing second at Ffos Las and is likely to have lots more to offer. With champion jockey Sean Bowen back on board, he will prove very hard to beat. Howth is a fair performer on the Flat and has to be respected on his first outing for the in-form Tom Lacey stable. Chantilly Moon has Brian Hughes booked and may prove best of the rest.

Howth was useful on the Flat but the chances are that ALL WELL AND GOOD will take the world of beating.

Those with experience are respected but this can go to one of the newcomers, with the John and Thady Gosden-trained GOOD OLD DAYS suggested as the first to consider. The Godolphin-owned daughter of Teofilo is a full-sister to multiple Grade/Group 1 winner Nations Pride and that highly attractive pedigree earns her the vote. El Budoor represents the same stable and would have to be of interest if the market vibes are positive. However, Spirited Style also carries the the royal blue colours and Charlie Appleby's daughter of Sea The Stars could be a bigger danger.

The form standard is far from daunting. SPIRITED STYLE, El Budoor, Good Old Days and Berezka are interesting debutantes.

This prestigious handicap can go the way of EAST INDIA DOCK, who was only worn down after the last in what looked a strong renewal of the Triumph Hurdle. The four-year-old proved capable on the level last year when trained by James Fanshawe and, with a handy draw in stall six, he may be able to make his class tell from a workable mark of 89. An easy winner here last September, Who's Glen must enter calculations along with unexposed Irish raider Leinster, who could relish the steep rise in trip, and last year's winner Zoffee.

Ante-post favourite EAST INDIA DOCK has deserved his place in the market. Next on the list are Zoffee and Who's Glen.

CLOUDY WEDNESDAY travelled powerfully to make every yard of the running to score at Fakenham last month and a 3lb rise might prove to be on the lenient side for the nine-year-old. Beat The Edge occupied the runner-up berth in a stronger event at Sedgefield and has to be taken seriously, while Kayce Dutton is another to keep an eye on.

The 7yo KAYCE DUTTON usually gives his running and this is a lower-grade race than the one in which he was made favourite last time.

Dorney Lake accounted for Kodi Lion by half a length to supplement a Yarmouth success at Doncaster and can confirm that form to go close in his bid for the hat-trick. However, PHOTOSYNTHESIS made a pleasing start for the Peter Chapple-Hyam stable when finishing a close third at Newbury last month. The four-year-old competes off an unchanged rating and could be the way to go. Rohaan is a five-time C&D scorer and another to note.

Dorney Lake got the better of KODI LION at Doncaster but the tables can be turned today.

WARDA JAMILA (fourth) may have less than a length to make up with the reopposing Rathgar (second) from their recent clash at Epsom, but Andrew Balding's charge is better drawn on this occasion and boasts every chance of reversing that form. A capable sort last year, she is narrowly preferred to Take Heart, who landed a valuable handicap at Goodwood last July and ran creditably most recently at Cork. Grey Cuban and Penzance have the form to get involved in proceedings as well.

Having started a conspicuously big price on her reappearance, when running well nevertheless, WARDA JAMILA (nap) can step up today.

Charlie Appleby's gelding beat a now 93-rated rival on his debut at Yarmouth in the autumn before a respectable fourth under a penalty on his Doncaster comeback. With the likelihood of more to come, he can defy his opening mark of 82.

Tuco Salamanca is sure to be popular but Corolla Point, Vocal Legend and KINIRO are of some interest in opposition.

The son of Holy Roman Emperor has Mason Patel claiming a handy 7lb and remains relatively unexposed over this distance. The hat-trick seeking Obsidian Knight is likely to have his supporters after recording a double at Lingfield and he needs to be taken seriously. Of the remainder, Small Fry makes the most appeal.

The most striking candidate has to be SPORTINGSILVERMINE, another horse for whom James Owen has worked the oracle.

Emma Lavelle's charge is likely to appreciate going back up in trip based on her penultimate success at Wincanton. Billy Boi Blue can give the selection most to think about after a narrow victory at Ayr's Scottish National meeting. A winner at Carlisle last time out off 2lb lower, Willaston is another to consider, as well as the consistent Scrum Diddly.

This looks competitive. BETHPAGE has soon shown the benefit of wind surgery and looked unlucky not to win at Cheltenham.

The Noel Meade-trained GAME ON sets a fair standard in this opening contest. A former point-to-point runner-up, the gelding disappointed on his racecourse debut at Punchestown in February but has reached the frame on his two most recent starts. Third over course and distance last time, he proved that he was capable of handling the undulations of this track and, from an official rating of 112, the son of Jack Hobbs is entitled to be bang there at the finish. Fool Me Once also has recent form at this venue, having been runner-up here on his penultimate start. Stepping up in trip should suit the Gavin Cromwell-trained runner. Mister Frostie should also be competitive for his locally based yard.

A reproduction of GAME ON (nap)'s C&D third in late Marh will probably be good enough to land the spoils here

Despite running from 2lb out of the handicap, CHESTNUT PETE looks the safest option. He had three subsequent winners behind when winning by 11 lengths over C&D two starts ago and certainly wasn't disgraced when third over 2m5f here subsequently. Back down in trip, he makes slightly more appeal than Williethebuilder, who was a disappointing favourite on his only previous chase outing over this C&D, and the first-time tongue-tied Centara.

He disappointed over C&D on his chasing debut but WILLIETHEBUILDER could have a significant class edge over his two rivals here.

Four-time winner SUNRISEONTHEBOYNE should be a big player in this grade. The Mick Mulvany-trained gelding has been well held in handicap company on his last couple of outings, but this is an easier task and Wesley Joyce taking 5lb off leaves him looking nicely treated. The handicapper gave Fantazy Man a rating of 75 after a promising run to finish sixth in a Bellewstown maiden last month. That form looks solid, with the winner taking a Group 3 at the Curragh on Monday. Broadstone is another maiden who has to be respected dropping to this grade. Like Fantazy Man, he is also tried in cheekpieces now.

Orchestra cannot be ruled out with any confidence raised only 3lb for winning at Kempton. However, ROGUE TORNADO went agonisingly close in a tougher contest at Lingfield last month and James Owen's inmate makes more appeal. Headed in the shadows of the post on that occasion, the son of Cracksman finished clear of Poncho (third) and can confirm superiority. The latter has place claims once again, while Golden Flame is worth a second look.

A chance is taken on GOLDEN FLAME, who hasn't won since 2021 but returns to turf off an attractive mark. Toby Tops is second pick.

Stormy Pearl likes to get on with things and is dangerous to underestimate now she is back on her last winning mark. However, another furlong would have been more ideal for her and she could prove vulnerable to one more accustomed to plying their trade over the minimum distance. The in-form REBEL STAR ideally fits the bill and, still unexposed on turf, Robert Cowell's filly rates the pick of this bunch. Glory Fighter and Desert Master, who returns after wind surgery, are other attractively-weighted options.

Rebel Star looks booked for another big run but ZUFFOLO can capitalise on today's return to Class 6 company.

OUR ZEBO broke his maiden in fine style by romping home in a similar event at Tramore last month. Even a 12lb higher mark might not be enough to prevent Noel Kelly's six-year-old from following up if he shows the same level of enthusiasm. This represents a great opportunity for GOLDEN DE COEUR to finally open his Rules account. He lost little in defeat when a neck second over 2m here last time and is rated 8lb above his only realistic danger, Don Virginia. The latter went close over C&D on his latest outing and will be waiting to pounce should the selection slip. Chanelle Noir could win what will likely be a separate battle for the remaining podium spot.

The Churchill gelding was placed a couple of times in England for James Owen, including in handicap company, and his mark of 68 gives him a big shout in an average maiden. Faoladh ran a solid race off the same figure in handicap company at Limerick on his return and is another who has to be on the shortlist. Amplitude wasn't beaten far into sixth at Gowran Park last month and must come into calculations too.

The Kodiac filly was picked up for 48,000gns at the Tatts October Book 2 sales in October and she's certainly bred to have plenty of ability, being a full-sister to the Listed-placed Alaskan Gold. Richard Hannon boasts a 40 per cent strike-rate with his juvenile runners here over the last five years, so Raakeb is worthy of consideration. Ginger Hunter and Koffee And Kale are others to note.

KILLIAN'S GARDEN has shaped well enough in three previous starts to suggest he can win an ordinary maiden such as this one. Outpaced before staying on nicely at Ballinrobe on his most recent start, the Ciaran Murphy-trained gelding should benefit from the stiffer test here. Although his profile suggests he is one for handicaps, this looks a very winnable contest. Ayr bumper winner Jazz De Cotte has to concede weight to his rivals as a result of that previous success. However, the Fly With Me gelding has the potential to make his presence felt all the same. Tramore runner-up Sea Of Doubt wouldn't need to improve a great deal in order to be involved for Ian Donoghue.

Could Be Trouble won nicely at a similar level at Haydock prior to being upped in class at Cheltenham and rates the biggest threat back down in grade. Kazontherazz might have to settle for a bronze medal for the third race in a row.

A big improver since fitted with cheekpieces in March, MUSIQUE DE FEE is sure to be suited by the return to this C&D and gets the nod.

Stepping up a bit in trip again may help ELANA OSARIO. She was turned over at a short price in Dundalk on her return, having been runner-up over middle-distance trips on her final two starts last year. If she can run near her mark of 85, she's the one to beat. Smart bumper mare Light Up The Dark is a fascinating runner. She won a Listed NH Flat race at Limerick in March and it will be interesting to see how she operates now around a sharp track over just less than 10 furlongs. Spring Dance ran a big race when third on her debut at Gowran Park last month and is another to consider.

Preference is for ELANA OSARIO sets a solid standard on form and she should relish the step back up in trip after a good run on AW

ZAPPATA showed no signs of his winning run coming to an end at Bath on Monday and, despite having to shoulder a massive penalty, he is very much the one to beat. Hill O Rue made an encouraging seasonal/handicap debut when runner-up to Flamborough Head at Redcar and should go well off the same mark. The reopposing winner has strung three solid performances together and may improve for the addition of cheekpieces, while Sweet Cicely is a place player too.

It's hard to see past ZAPPATA in his bid for the four-timer despite 18lb worth of penalties. Hill O Rue is second choice.

As the first foal of a Listed-placed sprinter, EXCELLENT BELIEVE might not leap from the page as a natural miler. However, there is some stamina in his pedigree and having gone close to justifying favouritism over 7f on his introduction at Wolverhampton, stepping up in trip could well see an improved effort, especially now he has some experience to draw upon. The recently-gelded Lola Moon should also be wiser after an encouraging debut at Newbury. River King and Typhoon Dancer are others with the potential to go close.

A good few possibles for this interesting novice but LOLA MOON, who is proven at the trip, gets the vote.

Following an eye-catching run on the Flat at Navan recently, MISS GITANA is interesting back over flights. A dual winner in the latter discipline, the Gordon Elliott-trained four-year-old is relatively unexposed over hurdles after just the five career starts. Although her jumping needs to improve, she shaped with definite promise when third at Down Royal on her most recent outing under National Hunt rules. A mark of 94 could prove to be very lenient once the daughter of Nathaniel gets her jumping together. Billie Frechette is worthy of consideration on her handicap debut. Noel Meade's filly was another who suffered an interrupted passage on the Flat last time. Runner-up on her last three runs, Queenofthelodge should again be competitive.

Preference is for handicap debutante BILLIE FRECHETTE who has been in fine form on the Flat recently.

COULSTYS WAY ran well on her return at Tipperary just over two weeks ago and may be able to step forward a couple of places now. Paddy Magee's charge was a touch unlucky then, when running into traffic over a furlong out, and finished off nicely behind Onemoredance. She remains on the same mark. Movin And Groovin had some good form at Dundalk over the winter and this better ground now on the turf may help her. Vovatia and Highway Sixty One are a couple more to consider.

This could be a good chance for COULSTYS WAY to get off the mark having placed on her seasonal return and she can come on for that

REIGNING PROFIT produced a fine performance when eased down to win a class 4 event at Pontefract and a 5lb penalty might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same mood. The Coffee Pod went off favourite for a 0-90 handicap on his seasonal reappearance at Epsom and certainly wasn't disgraced finishing fifth. He warrants plenty of respect dropped in class with that run under his belt, while Abate and High Opinion are others to keep an eye on.

Having shaped better than his final position on his Epsom return, THE COFFEE POD is preferred to Reigning Profit.

Having scored over course and distance last August, CALAHILL holds strong claims for Cian Collins. Although absent since a disappointing run at Tramore the following month, runners from this stable seldom fail through lack of fitness. Very lightly raced for a 10-year-old, the Califet gelding remains open to improvement over fences this term. It will be interesting to see how strong he is in the market after an absence. A point-to-point runner-up, Person Of Interest is difficult to assess on his chasing debut. Third over hurdles at Clonmel last time, the five-year-old could be well treated. Dee's Getaway, a winner over hurdles at Tramore last season, also merits consideration in an open affair.

PERSON OF INTEREST hasn't fulfilled his potential but has the ability to win a race of this nature if jumping soundly on chasing debut.

Matt Sheppard's charge had found only one too good over track and trip before that and another bold bid looks assured off the same mark. Runner-up over these hurdles on his latest start, Captain Attridge will likely have a say in proceedings over this longer distance, while Moonshine Man could bounce back if a first-time tongue strap has the desired effect.

Dual course winner MACTAVISH (nap) has been absent since December but he ran well when fresh last May.

THE REAL SCREAMER may benefit from nicer ground now on his second run of the season. The Awtaad gelding won twice at Dundalk late last year and was third on his return at Navan 13 days ago. He travelled well early in the straight then, but didn't quicken on soft ground and a better surface should help. Molto Amichi had some nice maiden runs last season and Colin Keane is an eyecatching booking for his handicap debut. Church Mountain comes here in winning form and has to be respected, despite an 8lb hike for his Limerick triumph a fortnight ago.

Mister Sox bids for a hat-trick with solid claims, having scored nicely at Pontefract.

The vote goes to THE GOOD BISCUIT who caught the eye on stable debut over C&D last month. Drying ground would be ideal.

CHESS DAD sprang a minor surprise when overturning an odds-on favourite on his debut at Newcastle, and the Study Of Man colt proved that was no fluke when finishing a close-up third under a penalty at Newmarket. This doesn't appear to be as competitive and he is fancied to regain the winning thread. Boatswain made an impressive start to his career at Lingfield at the beginning of the year and is perhaps the main threat, although Rogue Millions shouldn't be underestimated in receipt of weight.

Chess Dad sets the standard on his Newmarket third but ROGUE MILLIONS shaped with a deal of promise at Southwell and is preferred.

Fourth on his most recent start at Fairyhouse in November, the Gordon Elliott-trained seven-year-old had won his two previous outings. His profile suggests that he is a horse who comes to hand quickly, as he has won and been placed off the back of a break in previous campaigns. It would be no surprise to see a bold showing from the son of Telescope. Jimli's Cave, who sole win over hurdles came at this track, is sure to have been laid out by shrewd local connections. Down Royal runner-up College Causeway should also be competitive for trainer John McConnell.

That form looks better in hindsight, given the runner-up has subsequently won, and there was plenty to like about the seven-year-old's victory at Newcastle in March. Man Of The Sea may emerge as the main threat, despite dropping down in distance on the back of a second at Taunton. Rascallion could also get involved.

He was last seen chasing home stablemate Absurde in the valuable Sussex Champion Hurdle off a handicap mark of 151. The Almanzor gelding hasn't quite reached the heights he promised early on over timber, but is a very talented performer on his day and can make his mark on the level. Arriving with his yard in fine form, it might pay to take chance on LITTLE TED. Tim Easterby's eight-year-old was never competitive on his reappearance at Thirsk after being slowly away, but a slight ease in the handicap means he's only 1lb higher than when scoring at Musselburgh last summer. With Amie Waugh taking off a handy 3lb, he can't be taken lightly. Beltane was able to fill the runner-up spot at Doncaster a fortnight ago and he remains of interest. Misemerald is too well treated to ignore.

The step back up from 7f looks ideal for BELTANE as long as he settles better from the front than he did in a visor last time.

A consistent mare, who has been placed in four of her five previous runs, DERRYVILLE can register a first win. The Sam Curling-trained five-year-old finished runner-up to the subsequent Grade 1 Cheltenham bumper winner at Punchestown in December. There was plenty to take from her recent reappearance when a staying on fifth at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival. Sure to be all the sharper following that comeback, the Affinisea mare should be hard to beat. With Emmet Mullins proving a real force in bumpers of late, Tricksofthetrade has to be respected on just her second start under rules. A former point-to-point runner-up, she will appreciate this stiff test. Broomfield Aderra also looks a leading contender under Josh Halford.

MOLLY HALL looked better than ever on her return at Gowran Park last month and may be able to defy a 7lb rise. The Parish Hall mare won decisively over 1m6f and dropping back just over a furlong doesn't look like a major issue. She will appreciate this nice ground as well. Gangster Granny chased her home and is entitled to get closer on 6lb better terms. Solar Drive had a good campaign over hurdles last season and is another to note on his return to the level.

Lima Sierra has a shout on the pick of her all-weather form over the winter, while Pastoral Way is fitted with cheekpieces for his first attempt at 6f, having finished third over the minimum trip at Ayr. I GOT KNOW HOW returned to action with her best effort to date, when fifth at Pontefract last month. A winner has already come out of that race and she could have more to offer on only her second start in a handicap.

The vote goes to PASTORAL WAY who has already shown ability but has suggested the step up to 6f may unlock a bit more.
