13:00 Killarney Maiden Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ST FAZ had a good run when third on the Flat at Navan recently and that form was boosted when the runner-up went one better at the same venue during the week. He has been placed in two of his three starts over hurdles, one of which was at this venue, and will enjoy getting back on good ground. How About No won an all-weather maiden in February and is rated a few pounds higher than the selection on the level. He is an interesting hurdling debutant. Point-to-point winner Heroes Rise may improve enough from his first start over hurdles at Fairyhouse to have place claims in a race lacking depth.

HOW ABOUT NO landed a Dundalk maiden on the second of his three starts on the Flat in February and appeals as the type to make his mark in this sphere. He earns the vote ahead of St Faz, who is the clear pick of those with hurdling experience. Spitfire Fighter showed signs of ability on the level and is worth a second look, while point winner Heroes Rise should leave his low-key hurdles debut effort well behind in time.

A Flat winner on good ground, ST FAZ has shown enough in three maiden hurdle runs on heavy to suggest that he can win this.

13:15 Leopardstown Maiden 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

IGOR STRAVINSKY can gain compensation here after being narrowly denied on his debut at the Curragh. The No Nay Never colt led inside the final furlong then before being pipped at the line by the fast-finishing Zaynab. With that run under his belt he should prove hard to beat now. Apricot Ice sets the standard off her mark of 86 and looks the obvious danger. The Bated Breath filly ran well when second at Dundalk on her return last month and should be a big player again. Sub Rosa was placed a couple of times in England, including a narrow defeat at Lingfield, and is one to note on her first start for Donal Kinsella.

APRICOT ICE pulled clear of a subsequent winner when beaten only by a useful prospect in a similar event at Dundalk on return and can go one better. Igor Stravinsky was only just edged out at the Curragh on debut 3 weeks ago and is the obvious threat with Hilasmos and White Clover best of the others.

She has twice been narrowly beaten by Ballydoyle-trained rivals but APRICOT ICE can see off Aidan O'Brien's Igor Stravinsky.

13:35 Killarney Maiden Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Edward O'Grady has a good chance of landing the opener with St Faz and could again be the man to follow here as IRISH PANTHER has some very strong form in the book. He was placed in bumpers behind the likes of Fact to File and Ballyburn and his two placed efforts over hurdles also read well. He returns from a break and appears to have been found a good opportunity as long as he is comfortable on this quicker ground. Point-to-point winner Al Gasparo was runner-up over hurdles for the second time at Tramore last month where he showed he could handle good ground. Sionnach Eile won a premier handicap on the Flat at the Galway festival in 2022 and ran well in the same race last summer. He's a noteworthy hurdling debutant.

IRISH PANTHER and Al Gasparo both look capable of winning a race of this nature, while Sionnach Eile would be a big threat if translating his useful Flat form to this sphere at the first attempt. Though a shade disappointing when beaten over 14 lengths at Thurles on his latest start in November, Irish Panther gets the nod. It's unlikely that he faces a rival of the same level of ability as the winner of that Thurles race (Daddy Long Legs) here. Lieber Nicc will be a threat if getting a run.

Though he lacks a recent run, IRISH PANTHER holds the strongest form on show and has the ability to win this.

13:43 Ludlow Handicap Chase (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Playful Saint made a successful start to his chasing career when winning at Hexham eight days ago and he merits respect raised 4lb in the ratings. However, all of his best form has come with some give in the ground and he might not get those ideal conditions here, so GOWER PRINCE shades preference. Although 8lb out of the handicap, Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge produced a polished round of jumping to score at Wincanton on his fencing bow three weeks ago, and that will stand him in good stead. Matterhorn lacks the experience of his two rivals and might be booked for third.

PLAYFUL SAINT did well to make a winning chase debut at Hexham and this looks a good opportunity for him to follow up with Gower Prince 8 lb out of the handicap and chase-debutant Matterhorn arriving on the back of 2 poor efforts.

The safest option is perhaps GOWER PRINCE, who was poor over hurdles but looked a different proposition on his chasing debut.

13:50 Leopardstown Maiden 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

HIGHBURY can turn around form with Himalayan Heights on his second start. The Galileo colt was green first time in Cork 16 days ago, coming off the bridle turning for home. He was doing his best work at the finish and has only half a length to find with his rival after the pair finished second and third behind Birdman. Himalayan Heights was a touch keen early on then and if he settles better he may finish off stronger this time. Jessica Harrington, who trained the aforementioned Birdman, saddles newcomer Final Entry. The Galileo colt is a half-brother to three winners, including the Group 3-placed Arturo Toscanini.

HIGHBURY showed plenty to work on when third at Cork and shades the vote over Himalayan Heights, who is capable of winning a maiden. Vice President and Final Entry are a couple of newcomers to note.

He was getting the message late on when half a length behind Himalayan Heights at Cork and HIGHBURY can improve past that rival now

14:05 Plumpton Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Global Esteem sets the standard with an official rating of 103 and must enter calculations, although he was a well-beaten third at Hereford when last seen in November. Alain came from well off the pace to reach the frame at Fakenham last month and he appeals as a leading contender. SOLUTION, however, a two-time winner on the Flat, was sent off as favourite for a warm York handicap when last seen and he looks a solid proposition now sent over timber.

GLOBAL ESTEEM still needs to conclusively prove his stamina for hurdling, yet he did show a definite aptitude for the job on 2 of his 3 starts late last year and could just be the way to go back from a break. Alain and hurdle-debutants Truth Will Out and Solution are others to consider.

The Moore-trained ALAIN was a promising third at Fakenham last month on his second start and can continue to progress.

14:10 Killarney Conditions Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SHECOULDBEANYTHING won this last year and returned to Killarney to land a valuable handicap hurdle in August. She hasn't been at her best on her last couple of starts and has to give away weight all around but will enjoy getting back on spring ground and her C&D record makes her hard to oppose. Gordon Elliott has a strong hand and his other runner Royal Eagle is rated to beat the selection on these terms. Very progressive in handicap hurdles last summer, she'll be sharper for her return to action at Punchestown. The teak tough Effernock Fizz landed a big pot in game style at Fairyhouse over Easter. Well held since, she'll enjoy the ground and has such a willing attitude that she can never be discounted.

The vote in this trappy-looking contest goes to ROYAL EAGLE, who didn't offer much when returning from a break at Punchestown recently but she should come on for that and the drying ground will aid her cause. Shecouldbeanything is 2-2 over this C&D, including winning this race 12 months ago, and she is an obvious threat, despite carrying a penalty. Gaillimh A Run needs to step up considerably but she is open to improvement, while an on-song Effernock Fizz would certainly have a chance.

Though she has a fair bit to find on ratings, GAILLIMH A RUN revels on decent ground and is a sporting selection to score.

14:18 Ludlow Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

There was plenty to like about BELLBIRD's hurdling bow at Stratford three weeks ago, where she reached the frame, and given that improvement should be on the cards, Donald McCain's new recruit is taken to get off the mark over timber. A winner on the Flat when trained in France, Cusano warrants the utmost respect for his leading yard, while Opera King, who would hold solid claims on the form of his Market Rasen third in March, heads the remainder.

A good heat, several having shown promise already, though preference is for BELLBIRD after last month's encouraging Stratford third. Cusano is a really interesting recruit to hurdling for the Dan Skelton yard, whilst Doeshefitthebill caught the eye under considerate handling here last time and is also considered.

Dan Skelton's new recruit CUSANO wouldn't have to be anything special to beat these on his hurdling debut.

14:25 Leopardstown Group 3 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

We didn't learn much more about ONE LOOK when she went through the motions to score at 1/20 on her return at Cork in late March. The Gleneagles filly had looked a bit special when winning the Goffs Millions by six lengths from a smart sort in Cherry Blossom on her debut last September. This nicer ground suit better now and she is an exciting prospect for classics this season. Buttons is entitled to improve from her comeback run here. She was a staying on third to A Lilac Rolla in the Priory Belle Stakes and looks an obvious danger. Wendla was back in sixth then and has a bit of ground to make up.

ONE LOOK holds the clear edge on form so is fancied to follow up her Cork success in this higher grade. Buttons also has better days ahead of her and looks the one to give her most to do ahead of improving duo Wendla and Unreasonable.

The addition of a tongue-tie to One Look is disconcerting and we'll take her on with BUTTONS, an eyecatcher here over 7f last time

Sandy Brook continues to edge down the weights and he might appreciate a return to better ground, while Amalfi Skyline, who reverts to hurdles following a mixed spell over the larger obstacles, is another to consider.

ELIZA DOLITTLE showed more than previously upped in trip when third in a C&D handicap 6 weeks ago and she looks the most solid option in a trappy handicap. Sandy Brook may sharpen up for his Uttoxeter run 18 days ago, and along with Kapitaliste, heads up the dangers.

This could be a good opportunity for ELIZA DOLITTLE (nap) to get off the mark on the back of her C&D third last month.

14:45 Killarney Handicap Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ENCANTO BRUNO looked a smart novice on good ground last year readily landing the odds in a Bellewstown maiden and again winning easily at Cheltenham in October. The Mahler gelding couldn't repeat that form in both outings since on soft ground and now comes here off a break since Christmas with conditions to suit. Icare Desbois won a valuable sales bumper at Fairyhouse last year but hasn't always jumped fluently before finally opening his hurdle account in a Naas maiden last month. Common Practice and By Your Side filled the first two places in a valuable handicap on the Hattons Grace card at Fairyhouse, while Rock On Seamie is another to consider.

ICARE DESBOIS got the job done at the fifth attempt in this sphere when landing a big-field Naas maiden last month and, with the likelihood of better to come from this 6-y-o now handicapping, he is taken to follow up. So Scottish has slipped to an attractive mark and will be a big threat if he puts his best foot forward, while the hat-trick seeking Cheerful Chap and Zeeband are others to consider.

Now that he has a maiden hurdle win under his belt ICARE DESBOIS may begin to deliver on the promise he showed with a debut bumper win

14:53 Ludlow Handicap Chase (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

It might have taken TRAPISTA 13 attempts to open her account over fences, but the daughter of Golden Horn was able to follow up at Warwick next time and appears to have found her groove. A 7lb penalty looks unlikely to prevent another bold bid given that she remains well treated, so a hat-trick could be on the cards. This represents a drop in class for Royale Margaux and she might be the main danger, while Regal Renaissance, a largely consistent hurdler, could have a say if taking to the larger obstacles.

A few of these arrive with a question mark against them but TRAPISTA is a notable exception and looks the way to go in her hat-trick attempt. Chasing-debutante Regal Renaissance could emerge as the main danger given she arrives in good form over hurdles, with Moviddy and Great Snow also worthy of consideration.

A good renewal may go the way of MOVIDDY whose best form is at this trip. 3m1f looked a step too far at Cheltenham last time.

15:00 Leopardstown Group 3 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

YOSEMITE VALLEY wasn't stopping over the stiff seven at the Curragh last time and a mile around a bend here shouldn't be an issue. The Shamardal half-brother to Irish Derby runner-up Piz Badile has been campaigned at six and seven to date but powered through the line when winning the Gladness Stakes last time and looks progressive. Bold Discovery has the top rating of 109 and is a smart horse on his day. He was a good winner of the Celebration Stakes at the Curragh over a mile on good ground last year and is entitled to play a big part. Knight To King couldn't match Sunchart in very testing conditions at Naas on his return and may fare better now.

YOSEMITE VALLEY looked better than ever when taking the Gladness Stakes at the Curragh last month and can go in again at the chief expense of last year's winner Power Under Me. In-form duo Fiscal Rules and Real Appeal can also have a say in an intriguing Group 3 event.

Tricky; we'll take a chance on BOLD DISCOVERY who will like the ground, goes well fresh and might be all the better for being gelded

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BUZZ BOX, who dead-heated over course and distance in January, is appealing back at this trip after another good effort over the minimum distance here last time out and should have more to give from just 3lb higher. Allotted a favourable draw, the selection can sit handy as events unfold and he may prove too progressive for the likes of fellow course winners Wren Officer and Cross The Tracks.

CROSS THE TRACKS was an excellent second in class 2 over C&D 6 weeks ago and can resume winning ways back down in class. In-form Wren Officer is next best ahead of the progressive Buzz Box.

Oakland Princess is better than she showed here last time but MR WONDERFUL is preferred on this stable and handicap debut.

TOOTHLESS, a runner-up on each of his three starts over fences so far, appears to have been found the ideal opportunity to go one better. TOOTHLESS has been the bridesmaid on all 3 of his starts over fences but can go one better down in class. Last year's winner Small Bad Bob is feared most ahead of Aviles.

Still unexposed over fences, SMALL BAD BOB is taken to win this event for the second year running.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SOLITARY MAN progressed well over hurdles last year including winning twice at this venue and showed plenty of stamina when landing a 3m Listed event at Cork in November. The Enda Bolger-trained gelding has always been viewed as a future chaser and now takes the first step over larger obstacles. Duffle Coat was a prolific winner in juvenile hurdles and, while without a win since, has filled the runner-up spot four times over fences this year including over this trip at Downpatrick last month. Music Of Tara opened her account over hurdles in a competitive 2m4f handicap at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting and the point-to-point winner successfully switched to fences over the same trip at Tipperary last month.

Having created a good impression on her recent chase debut at Tipperary, MUSIC OF TARA is taken to make it 2-2 in this sphere with this step up in trip unlikely to inconvenience her in the least. Solitary Man brings solid hurdles form to the table and will be a big threat if his jumping passes the test, while both Gaelic Arc and Duffle Coat also have claims in an intriguing novice chase.

With the benefit of five chase runs under his girth, including in a valuable Punchestown handicap last time, DUFFLE COAT can score.

15:28 Ludlow Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Saddlers Quest was in cracking form last year, recording three wins from her last four starts, and she has to be considered off a 1lb higher mark than her third at Worcester in October. However, the vote goes to CAWTHORNE BANKER, who scored by an impressive six lengths at Kempton last month and an 8lb rise could prove to be lenient. The son of Flemensfirth could have more to offer on only his third handicap start and he looks the one to beat. Him Malaya could be in the mix for the minor honours.

CAWTHORNE BANKER was impressive at Kempton last time and remains with plenty of handicapping scope on bumper form, so he's capable of following up. Him Malaya and Flight of Freedom arrive in good order with few miles on the clock, so they're expected to get involved, too.

After a good run at Kempton, HIM MALAYA (nap) is taken to gain revenge on Zucayan who beat him in this 12 months ago.

15:35 Leopardstown Group 3 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Group 1 winner LOS ANGELES should prove hard to beat here on his return to action. The Camelot colt got home by a neck in a tight finish to the Criterium de Saint-Cloud on his second career outing in October and that form has worked out well since. Aidan O'Brien has a terrific record in this and Los Angeles should prove the class act. Bremen has already been in winning form this season, claiming a decent little conditions race at Cork 16 days ago. He looks the danger if Los Angeles isn't full wound up. Euphoric, third to Bremen in Cork, should improve from his comeback run and can get into the frame again.

LOS ANGELES signed off at 2yrs with a smart success in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud and can return in style for his in-form yard. Stablemate Euphoric also has better days ahead of him and is next on the list ahead of recent winners Bremen and Keeper's Heart who can fight it out for minor honours.

If there's a future star on show this year it's LOS ANGELES, who should make a better 3yo and he already boasts Group 1 honours.

15:42 Newcastle Maiden (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

This appears to be another good piece of placement by William Haggas as the twice-raced TREASURE TIME bids to gain a first career success. The selection filled the runner-up spot in a Kempton novice when last seen and, given the third has since advertised that form with a win and now sits on a mark of 85, the son of Time Test could be a cut above the opposition. Jungle Land looked promising at Ayr 10 days ago and goes on the shortlist along with potential improver, Midnight's Dream.

JUNGLE LAND couldn't justify favouritism at Ayr on debut but he still showed plenty to finish a clear second and is fancied to go one better. Naepoint caught the eye when third at Wolverhampton in October and is a potential threat along with well-bred newcomer Storm Star.

A few potential big improvers are on show and NAZIONALE is tentatively preferred to Treasure Time and Jungle Land.

15:50 Plumpton Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MACARI is still of low mileage and, as he already has a course win to his name, returning to this venue is a major plus as he bids to exploit a potentially lenient rating on only his fourth handicap start. A C&D winner last May, Glance At Me rates the chief threat to the selection, although Andapa (second) was only three-quarters of a length behind her that day, so has to enter calculations returning with a first-time tongue-tie added.

MARTIN SPIRIT scored over C&D in March and got back on track chasing home a trio of unexposed rivals last time, so is fancied to resume winning ways ahead of last year's winner Glance At Me. Inigo hadn't been asked for an effort well falling on handicap debut and still appeals as one who could do better in this company.

It might pay to give another chance to MACARI, who pulled clear of the others with a dual subsequent winner here two starts ago.

15:55 Killarney Maiden Chase 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SAYLAVEE looks a class apart given a clear round on her chasing debut. The Willie Mullins-trained mare won four times (2 bumpers/2 hurdles) in 2022 including a Listed 2m3f Punchestown mares' novice and has been placed on both outings this year including a 3m handicap at Ayr last month. Costanuci was progressive over hurdles at a lower level last year winning three handicaps including when beating Sea Aster at the Listowel Festival, while Henning also won three hurdle races but hasn't progressed over fences and comes here off a fall at Ballinrobe. Pebble Bleu showed modest form over hurdles but gave some encouragement when second on her chase debut at Thurles.

SAYLAVEE's hurdles form is superior to anything that any of these rivals have achieved and, barring accidents, she should have little trouble in making a winning chase debut here. Pebble Bleu stepped up on her low-key exploits over timber when runner-up starting out in this sphere at Thurles and she is clear second choice ahead of Sea Aster.

This should be straightforward for SAYLAVEE who won a bumper at this venue and reached a good standard of form as a 137-rated hurdler.

16:03 Ludlow Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Awesome Foursome has hit the frame on each of his last five outings, including his most recent third at Exeter and he could get into contention off a 1lb lower rating. However, preference is for MUSIQUE DE FEE, who got up by just under a length on her handicap bow here last month and she was given a 4lb rise for that triumph. With Sean Bowen booked, she could be the one to beat, while Jaxonne is well worth a second look.

A case can be made for a few of these but BEAR CLAWS returns to this sphere on a good mark and in winning form from the Flat so edges the vote. Behind The Veil is feared most now going handicapping on the back of breathing surgery, with Express Surprise and Musique de Fee also in the picture.

Further improvement from last month's lightly raced C&D handicap winner MUSIQUE DE FEE seems the most potent option.

16:10 Leopardstown Maiden 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Some promising types in this maiden and OB LA DI is amongst them after her fourth over C&D last month. The winner of that contest wasn't beaten far in the Cheshire Oaks and Johnny Murtagh's Blue Point filly may improve for better ground. She is well entered up in Group contests. Fleetingly improved from her debut to finish second over this trip at Naas and has to be respected. Lope De Lilas holds an Irish Oaks entry and was a warm order for her debut at Galway in the autumn where heavy ground may have counted against her. The 88-rated Finsceal Luas takes a marked step up in trip and is fitted with a tongue-tie while newcomer Shavasi is related to Group winners.

FLEETINGLY has a long way to go if she's to live up to her pedigree but she took a step forward from her debut when second in a Naas maiden 2 weeks ago and she could be worth siding with to take another step forward. Finsceal Luas will benefit from the return to calmer waters and is feared, with Ob La Di and Lope de Lilas other likely improvers.

A few with chances in an interesting maiden. OB LA DI might be the answer if able to build on her eyecatching debut here a month ago.

16:17 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sea Legend posted some respectable form during his time in Ireland and has to be of interest with a hood applied on stable debut for the James Fanshawe yard. Abbey Gardens has also switched yards since she was last seen and is worth a betting check for a shrewd operation. However, there are some wily characters in opposition this time, with none appealing more for a bit of value than SENSE OF WORTH, who shades preference returning to the all-weather.

MY LITTLE QUEENS capitalised on her reduced mark and justified good support in the process when readily landing an 8-runner Hamilton handicap 7 days ago and she could well be worth siding with to follow up under a penalty. Sea Legend is an interesting runner on yard/handicap debut following an absence, with Abbey Gardens and Jean Baptiste others worth a look.

Having bolted up at Hamilton last Sunday, MY LITTLE QUEENS is taken to defy a 5lb penalty. She has run well over this C&D in the past.

16:25 Plumpton Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The hat-trick seeking Yalla Habibi is a good starting point, as he is 2-2 for his current yard and looks capable of handling the 5lb rise imposed after his win at Kempton last month. However, this is a deeper race and there is an additional half a mile to tackle. With that in mind, it could be worth taking a chance on A TICKATICKATIMING, who was a respectable second to a progressive type over C&D in March and notably runs off 1lb lower here. Ilanz completes the shortlist.

YALLA HABIBI is two from two for Harriet Dickin and had something to spare at Kempton last time, so he's fancied to complete the hat-trick. A Tickatickatiming should give another good account and Ilanz can get involved if revived by his new yard.

Preference is for A TICKATICKATIMING, who ran well in defeat behind a major improver over C&D on her handicap debut in March.

16:30 Killarney Handicap Chase 26f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

JUMPING JET bids for his second 'National' in just over a fortnight after showing great reserves of stamina to take the Ulster version at Downpatrick and should give a good account off a 7lb higher mark. Midnight Our Fred has filled the runner-up spot on his last three outings in staying handicaps at Cheltenham and deserves a change of luck, while Cavalry Master and Macgiloney filled the places behind Shadow Master over 2m3f at Wexford last month and both are effective over a longer trip. Birchdale still held every chance when falling two out in this race last year but needs to bounce back after being pulled up before the last in the La Touche at Punchestown recently. Stealthy Tom is a four-time winner here over fences.

A much-deserved first success over fences beckons for MIDNIGHT OUR FRED, who has found just one too good on each of his three starts since switched to handicaps in this sphere (all at Cheltenham). He was clear of the rest when chasing home another novice upped to 3½m back from a break last month and is 1 lb lower here. True Faith is very much of interest, despite returning form a lengthy absence, and he is feared most ahead of Jumping Jet, who looks the pick of the Gordon Elliott-trained trio.

A wide-open race in which MIDNIGHT OUR FRED has an excellent chance of going one better after three seconds at Cheltenham.

16:38 Ludlow Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BETHPAGE proved a decisive winner on her handicap bow when getting the better of her stablemate at Fontwell last month. The daughter of Getaway should relish this rise in distance and she could make light work of a 5lb rise in the ratings. Mactavish may appreciate this drop back in distance and the seven-year-old is feared most on his return to action, ahead of Flashy Boy, who could be freshened up by a change of scenery on his debut for Fergal O'Brien.

BETHPAGE showed improved form to make a winning handicap debut at Fontwell 23 days ago and, now up and running, she looks of interest again boasting a far less exposed profile than most. Flashy Boy is another worth monitoring now handicapping on return for his new yard and market confidence behind him would look significant. Deadlock and Mactavish complete the shortlist.

Bethpage faces a significantly longer trip and DEADLOCK, who's in only his third handicap, looks a more assured stayer.

16:45 Leopardstown Handicap 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ETHICAL DIAMOND was bought for plenty of money after winning a 1m4f Limerick maiden for Michael O'Meara last summer and this will be his first start on the level since then. The Awtaad gelding has been hurdling over the winter and ran notably well in a Grade 1 at the Dublin Racing Festival. This trip might be a bit sharp but he looks potentially well handicapped. Saturn is also of interest in his first handicap. Out of the high-class Alpha Centauri, he won an all-weather maiden in good style in November and there should be more to come from him this season. Grey Leader won three times last term including on good ground at Listowel. He may have needed last month's comeback at the Curragh and now steps up in trip.

The well-bred SATURN resumed progress equipped with a first-time tongue strap when successful in a Dundalk maiden in November and he looks the type to improve further now his sights are set on handicaps. Ethical Diamond is another of interest for Willie Mullins, with Ceallach and Global Energy another pair to consider.

The interesting runner is ETHICAL DIAMOND who is thoroughly unexposed now returned to the Flat on goodish ground.

16:52 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Natzor has filled the runner-up spot on both starts for the David O'Meara yard and is likely to go well once again off the same mark as his most recent effort at Hamilton. However, he could come out second best to ANJO BONITA, who has been victorious on two of her last three outings and she gets the vote to make a winning return to action. Furzig is another to keep an eye on.

NATZOR cemented the positive start made for David O'Meara when finishing a good second at Hamilton 7 days ago and, worth another crack at this longer trip on that evidence, he shades the vote to come out on top. Ludo's Landing and Jack Sparowe are others to consider, along with the thriving Prince Achille. Yeoman would also need factoring in if taking up this engagement.

The step back up in trip could be just what NATZOR needs to post a first win and he earns the vote, with Prince Achille feared.

17:00 Plumpton Handicap Chase (Class 4) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This could prove a suitable opportunity for COPPERHEAD to get back on the scoresheet. Although Joe Tizzard's inmate has proved expensive to follow the last twice, the return to quicker ground conditions may prove fruitful. Jacamar failed to justify favouritism when only third of four on his stable bow at Ludlow last month, but the nine-year-old cannot be given up on yet, while Judge Earle could go very well if allowed a soft lead.

NORTHERN POET looked set to play a major role before seemingly stretched by the longer trip at Cheltenham last month so looks the way to go back down in distance/class. Copperhead looks the most solid alternative.

Preference is for BLADE RUNNER, who was pulled up at Cheltenham last month but has an excellent record here.

17:05 Killarney NH Flat Race 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

FLORIDA STRAIT makes plenty of appeal on pedigree being a brother to Irish Cesarewitch winner Magellan Strait and the dam has produced plenty of winners, including another useful stayer Lagostovegas, who won at Royal Ascot. Patrick Mullins is an interesting booking on Kalium who cost 62,000 euro last summer and is a half-brother to a couple of winners in France while Gather Yourself, Light On His Feet and Derryville are other newcomers to note. Those with form make limited appeal, although the heavy going was put forward as an excuse for Spinola Bay when he was bitterly disappointing at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting.

FLORIDA STRAIT and Kalium both make plenty of appeal on paper and are expected to come to the fore. The former is particularly appealing and shades preference ahead of Sean Doyle's representative, for whom the booking of Patrick Mullins catches the eye. Spinola Bay was disappointing on his introduction at Fairyhouse but better was clearly expected (strong in the betting that day) and he is best of the rest.

The market may help to clarify the picture, but the Flat-bred FLORIDA STRAIT gets the vote to beat Kalium and Spinola Bay.

17:13 Ludlow Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

I LOOK HOW I LOOK posted another creditable effort in defeat when runner-up behind a progressive rival at this venue recently. Dan Skelton's mare shapes as if this greater emphasis on stamina could unlock some potential and compensation could beckon. The biggest threat may emerge from Call Me Arthur, who bounced back to form when second at Ffos Las last month, while a first-time visor could spark enough interest from Fantomas for the eight-year-old to feature too.

A few with chances but SAINT BIBIANA should prove suited by this step up in trip so looks the way to go off a lenient mark in her bid for a breakthrough hurdling victory. Call Me Arthur is feared most on the back of his good Ffos Las second, although a solid case can also be made for the likes of I Look How I Look, Lion's Vigil and Fantomas.

This looks tricky but I LOOK HOW I LOOK produced an encouraging second over 2m5f here 18 days ago. Call Me Arthur is second choice.

17:20 Leopardstown Handicap 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ORTELIUS showed promise in two juvenile outings on decent ground and probably was inconvenienced by testing conditions when second to a stablemate here on his return over 1m2f. Sent off odds-on that day, the Justify colt could be well treated for his handicap debut and promises to be suited by this longer trip. Invention was just a head behind the selection last time and is now 6lb better off including his rider's claim. Cow Chico readily won an all-weather maiden in March under Kevin Stott and he comes over to resume the partnership. The Frankel colt is another unexposed contender.

ORTELIUS has shaped with encouragement on each of his three outings to date, shaping like this step up in trip will be firmly in his favour, so this seven-figure yearling purchase is worth a chance to defy an opening mark of 85 at the possible expense of Cow Chico, an impressive winner at Dundalk last time. Natural Ruler is one of several others with potential.

Aidan O'Brien has won many a handicap with horses bound for Group races and such ambitions remain realistic for ORTELIUS.

17:27 Newcastle Handicap (Class 3) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

MAFNOOD was beaten five lengths into second on his return to action at Doncaster last month and he could take a step forward from that effort. Richard Hannon's gelding remains on the same mark and may find the improvement needed to go one better. The main threat might be the hat-trick seeking Rocket Warrior, who went in by a length at Chelmsford in March and it would be no surprise to see him feature. Of the remainder, Cloudy Skye makes the most appeal on her handicap debut.

MONSIEUR MELEE showed plenty to be positive about at Sandown last time and Jedd O'Keeffe's gelding is fancied to get off the mark at the chief expense of the hat-trick seeking Rocket Warrior. Mafnood can complete the placings.

Rocket Warrior bids for a hat-trick on the AW but there are other intriguing options, including Monsieur Melee and MAFNOOD.

17:35 Plumpton NH Flat Race (Class 5) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Dance And Glance offered something to work with on his 10th-placed debut in a valuable bumper at Newbury in March. Anthony Honeyball's gelding is likely to prove more competitive in these calmer waters and he isn't taken lightly. However, EILEEN'S MILAN, a half-brother to Irish Grade 1-winning hurdler Farren Glory, boasts a smart pedigree. The son of Milan could take this en route to bigger things, while market support for fellow newcomer Moon Monarch would also be interesting.

EILEEN'S MILAN is related to a bumper winner and represents top connections, so he's worth chancing to make a successful debut at the possible expense of Dance And Glance, who offered some encouragement at Newbury first time out. Moon Monarch is another interesting debutant.

Having made an encouraging debut in the competitive sales bumper at Newbury in March, DANCE AND GLANCE is the pick today.

18:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 3) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Fairbanks was a shade disappointing when only managing sixth on his return at Thirsk, but he is entitled to improve off a 1lb lower mark and with the booking of Oisin Murphy to aid his cause. However, AEROSPACE looks the way to go. The son of Sea The Stars is unbeaten in two outings for Archie Watson and may have been worth more than the winning margin suggests over 1m2f here last time. The runner-up did the form no harm by running well at Chester during the week and, with the likelihood of more to come up in trip, the five-year-old is the one to be on. Recent C&D winner La Pulga is another to watch out for.

AEROSPACE found marked improvement to double his tally for this stable here last time and there's more progress in him, so he gets the nod in the hat-trick bid. La Pulga is a big danger if able to dictate and his stablemate Artisan Dancer should be on the premises as usual.

Aerospace should relish this longer trip but he may have to give best to the unexposed and progressive 4yo FAIRBANKS.

18:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 3) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Three-time C&D scorer ZIP lost little in defeat when runner-up in a class 2 event at Haydock recently and compensation could await the veteran on this return to the all-weather. The biggest threat appears to be Eldrickjones, who returned to action with a close-up second at Southwell last month, while fellow in-form rivals Swiss Ace and Longlai aren't easily dismissed, in what looks an open contest.

ELDRICKJONES made a pleasing seasonal return when runner-up at Southwell last month and is fancied to go one better here. Zip has a good course record and arrives after a sound effort last time, so also merits consideration alongside Longlai.

Eldrickjones is solid after a promising return but LONGLAI appeals most after his good second at Chelmsford.

19:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 2) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Although KING'S LYNN was unable to capitalise on a declining mark at Goodwood recently, that second-placed effort marked a return to form. Andrew Balding's charge makes plenty of appeal racing off the same rating and a fifth career success could be on the horizon. Last month's Newbury third Bosh won't mind this switch to Tapeta and the five-year-old should give another good account of himself. Misty Grey and Dare To Hope are also worth a closer look.

IT JUST TAKES TIME won twice off higher marks last year and made a most encouraging return when a smooth-travelling second at Doncaster 15 days ago, so he gets the marginal vote to go one better in a wide-open race. The well-treated King's Lynn is a player having returned to form last time and Bosh can't be ignored in his current mood.

Batal Dubai is solid but DARE TO HOPE (nap) looks one to follow and a 4lb rise for his Beverley win underestimates him.
