(2) Caribou 10/1, 22/1, last of 10 in handicap at Goodwood (8f, good). Off 7 months. Best watched.

(5) Alyara 5/1, Respectable third of 12 in handicap (5/1) at Windsor (8.1f, good to soft). Off 7 months. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals.
This mark should be within range if ready to go back from seven months off; considered.

(12) San Francisco Bay 4.5/1, Ended last campaign with solid second of 12 in handicap at Ffos Las (8f, soft, 12/1) in September. Fairly treated on return and warrants respect.

(7) Into The Spotlight 14/1, Respectable sixth of 10 in minor event (33/1) at Chelmsford City (8f) 75 days ago. Makes turf debut. Hood back on. Not out of things.

(11) Emerald Lady 125/1, First run since leaving K. R. Burke when last of 13 in handicap (66/1) at Bath (8f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Others preferred.
Drying weather would help but she'd be hard to recommend even then.
LTO Selection:

13:30 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Last-time-out winner EYE OF THE WATER was victorious at Bath earlier in the month and a 3lb rise may not be enough to stop him from completing a double. The returning Alyara also makes appeal if picking up where she left off last season, while you couldn't rule out a big run from San Francisco Bay either. He gets in off a light weight and was second last time out at Ffos Las.

EYE OF THE WATER got back on the scoreboard at Bath earlier this month and still looks feasibly treated. He may be able to follow up. San Francisco Bay and Into The Spotlight look the likeliest dangers.

Eye Of The Water should go well but MARSH BENHAM will appreciate the drying weather following a decent comeback effort at Bath.

Garswood Lady

250/1(-150%)
(8) Garswood Lady 250/1, Well held in a brace of bumpers and tailed off in minor events/handicap on Flat. Tongue tied for hurdling debut and easy to look elsewhere.
Has struggled in bumpers and on the Flat; makes no appeal on hurdling debut.
LTO Selection:

13:40 Newcastle Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

QUARESOME remains unbeaten and made a winning debut for connections when scoring at Musselburgh in March. The son of Parish Hall has to carry a 7lb penalty for that success but he looks capable of defying that. Special Rate filled the runner-up spot on his most recent outing and could do so once again, while Five Dollar Fine and Summergrounds complete the shortlist.

There's surely more to come from QUARESOME, who didn't look the finished article when forging clear on his Musselburgh hurdling/stable debut, so he's taken to defy a penalty. Special Rate looks the obvious threat following an improved effort on his hurdling debut at Kelso. Five Dollar Fine may prove best of the rest.

This can go to QUARESOME, who was nicely in command in the closing stages of his hurdling debut at Musselburgh in March.

LTO Selection:

13:50 Beverley Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ROWAYEH displayed plenty of promise on her return to action at Newmarket a month ago and the daughter of Dubawi could be hard to beat with the benefit of that outing. Rajindri made the frame in both starts as a juvenile and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Astral Spirit and Storymaker are others who merit places on the shortlist.

Having shaped well when runner-up on debut, RAJINDRI was left poorly placed when third at Wolverhampton next time and she remains open to improvement with this extra furlong to suit. She is taken to see off the challenge of Rowayeh who stepped up on her debut form on her return, while Astral Spirit should also have more to offer.

Marginal preference is for ASTRAL SPIRIT, ahead of Rowayeh.

LTO Selection:

14:05 Chepstow Maiden (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MULLINS BEACH ran his best race to date when second at Leicester on Saturday and a reproduction of that performance may be enough to see him gain a first triumph. Profitable Dreams is a potential improver having finished fourth on her racecourse debut at Kempton last week and she's feared now switched to the turf. Vidi Vici makes most appeal of the newcomers and any market support would increase interest.

MULLINS BEACH has improved from run to run and another step forward might be enough to see him take this, though newcomers Zesty Lime and Vidi Vici are both bred to be sharp and market support for either should be noted.

Mullins Beach has good claims on his Saturday run but he wasn't far ahead of JOLLY SAILOR previously and the latter can improve.

14:15 Newcastle Handicap Chase (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ZARA'S UNIVERSE arrives here on the back of two victories in recent months and a 5lb rise the latest of those wins may not be enough to stop her from making it a hat-trick. Six One Nine has been knocking on the door on his most recent outings and should not be underestimated on his return from a short break. Others to note are Budarri and Check My Pulse.

The suggestion in a very open race is GETAWAY JEWEL now reunited with Brian Hughes, who was on board for both his wins last summer. Fourth of July, Six One Nine and the hat-trick seeking Zara's Universe head the many dangers.

The pick is TICO TIMES, who struggled to cope with heavy ground in his last two races but will be better suited by today's conditions.

BOMBAY BAZAAR was not disgraced on his debut at Thirsk a few weeks ago and the experience that he gained on that occasion could prove to be vital here. Politico is a noteworthy newcomer being the first foal out of a mare who won a Listed race in the May of her juvenile season, while Crack The Kode and Cuban Secret are others to note.

BOMBAY BAZAAR shaped very well amidst greenness when third at Thirsk on debut, beaten only by a pair with prior experience, so he looks the one to beat with that first run behind him. Newcomers could pose the biggest threat to the selection, with Politico one to note along with Crack The Kode.

Richard Fahey's Kodiac colt BOMBAY BAZAAR shaped very well when a clear third at Thirsk and rates a confident choice to go in here.

14:40 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BLUEBELL TIME was far-from disgraced when fourth at Bath recently and she could take advantage of a 3lb lower mark here. On Edge finished a respectable third on his return to action at Windsor last month and this former course winner should not be taken lightly in this company. Red Allure ran well on the all-weather last time and completes the shortlist.

RHUBARB made hay here last term and gets the vote off a tempting mark after showing more at Bath. Fossos is another with a fine Chepstow record and is respected despite his high draw. Cloud Cuckoo could do a lot better now handicapping at a low level for Henry Candy.

Wide-open but course winner ON EDGE has had fewer chances than most and is worth a crack at a 5f handicap. Fossos may be next best.

14:50 Newcastle Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

OUR LAURA B gave a good account off top-weight when denied by a nose at Ludlow last time out and may go one better in this contest. The in-form five-year-old has only been handed a 1lb rise for that effort and gets the nod to record a second win over course and distance. Starlyte failed to justify favouritism in deeper waters on her latest outing but rates the most immediate now eased in grade, while Theirshegoes is another to consider.

Though some of her rivals arrive here in better form, STARLYTE is very much of interest now returned to the scene of her decisive front-running display on debut for Lucinda Russell in November (off a 2 lb higher mark). She has generally acquitted herself well in slightly higher-grade handicaps since and the drying ground will be right up her street. Fellow C&D winner Our Laura B is greatly respected in current form, while Toughasoldboots and Emily Wade are others with strong credentials.

C&D winner OUR LAURA B was nudged up only 1lb for her very close second at Ludlow last month and probably still has potential.

15:00 Beverley Seller (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A mark of 70 probably flatters MONTELUSA but he rarely runs poorly and may well prove to be a cut above these rivals now switched to selling company. Silks Graphite appears to be the main danger based on his second-placed finish over 6f at Yarmouth two starts ago. The rest all have questions to answer but Insolente is the pick of them.

MONTELUSA proved consistent last year and, having finished runner-up on his second outing of the current campaign, he could be ready to get off the mark this time around. Tim Easterby's colt sets the standard in this contest, though Silks Graphite could bounce back in first-time blinkers and is feared most, ahead of Insolente.

This looks a great opportunity for MONTELUSA to gain a breakthrough win dropped into selling grade after a run of solid efforts.

Very mixed for M Bell; plenty to prove back at 6f; needs weight off his back.

Narrowly denied at Brighton last time out, PINWHEEL can gain compensation and gain a first win in the UK. The five-year-old has improved since having wind surgery and he gets the vote ahead of the Irish-raider Carlton Banks and Rich Rhythm, who could improve for going back up in trip. Cashew and Flagman are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

Though nearer last than first on the majority of his appearances last term, Irish-raider CARLTON BANKS is nevertheless interesting here off a much-reduced mark. The 6-y-o wasn't beaten at all far when sixth in a 22-runner handicap at the Curragh off 18 lb higher last spring (on the back of a similar absence from which he is returning to action here), and his yard is 5-11 with horses aged 4+ on turf in Britain in recent seasons. Pinwheel and Macs Dilemma rate the main dangers.

Well-connected Flagman has more to offer at 6f but CASHEW has less to prove on softish ground and is quite well treated now.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Despite losing his irons on the run-in, Thomas Dowson kept RIBEYE up to his work to land a second career victory at Hexham last time out. The eight-year-old relished the step back to this trip and he rates the one to beat off 6lb higher. Croagh Patrick has been a consistent customer of late and demands the utmost respect after a gallant second at Haydock on his latest outing. The handicapper has loosened his grip on Big Difference and he completes the shortlist now back off his last winning mark.

RIBEYE can continue his fine start over fences with a third win of the year. He was value for extra when scoring at Hexham recently and should have even more to offer. Marshalled wasn't beaten far at Sedgefield and is respected off the same mark on this better ground. Limerick Leader is another to consider.

Having won two of his three previous starts over fences, RIBEYE is selected to win again. Croagh Patrick is also likely to go well.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The Dunkirk Lads relished the step back to this minimum trip when landing the spoils at this venue last time out and the four-year-old warrants the utmost respect. This demands considerably more off 4lb higher, though, and a chance is taken on KING OF TONGA, who gave a good account of himself when fourth in deeper waters on his latest outing. The son of Dark Angel now sits 1lb below his last winning mark and gets the tentative nod. Sound Reason is another to consider.

KING OF TONGA ran better than on his return when making the frame at Wetherby 16 days ago and he can take advantage of this drop back in grade to return to winning ways. The main danger could be The Dunkirk Lads, who remains on a workable mark following his C&D success last time, while Gustav Graves also merits consideration.

The ex-Irish RAMIRO has started the season on a good mark and following a good reappearance run is taken to beat King Of Tonga.

The form of BOMB SQUAD's most recent placed effort at Thirsk has worked out extremely well and stepping back up in trip may see him regain the winning thread. A winner of two of his last four starts, Dodgy Bob can give him the most to think about, along with Romanovich, who was narrowly denied at Brighton last time. Others to note include Lockdown Lass, Madrinho and Moveonup.

ROMANOVICH has fewer convictions than most of these and is given a chance to build on his improved second at Brighton last time. Bomb Squad, Madrinho and the consistent Lockdown Lass are others to consider.

16:00 Newcastle Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

In a competitive contest, marginal preference is for THATBEATSBANAGHER, who failed to justify favouritism when runner-up over 3m3f at Sedgefield last time out. The consistent nine-year-old has only been handed a 2lb rise for that effort and may go one better now stepping back in trip. Balkotic arrives on the hunt for a third consecutive win after a break and merits consideration, while Deluxe Range completes the shortlist.

Hard to warm to the majority of these but there's an air of untapped potential around RAE DES CHAMPS over this sort of trip, so she is awarded the vote. Lastofthecosmics and Deluxe Range head the opposition.

16:10 Beverley Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

In this competitive contest, marginal preference goes to UGO GREGORY, who gave a good account of himself when runner-up over course and distance off 2lb lower last time out. Despite being short of room two furlongs out, the seven-year-old was only denied by a neck and may go one better today. Jazz Samba shed the maiden tag at this venue on her latest outing and rates the most immediate danger despite a 4lb rise for that success, while Broctune Red is another to consider.

BROCTUNE RED appears back at the top of his game and is just as effective on turf as all-weather, so another bold bid looks on the cards. Jazz Samba improved to get off the mark here on her return and a 4 lb rise seems fair, while Ugo Gregory was unlucky to bump into a big improver over C&D last time.

LTO Selection:

16:25 Chepstow Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Puntarelle has been in good form on the all-weather and she can go well on her handicap debut, but if TIME'S EYE improves for her first start of the season, she could be the one. Only beaten a head by Karsavina last October, who has raced in Group company since, which suggests that a mark of 79 could prove generous. Ivy Avenue intrigues over this trip after two runs over a mile and a quarter

IVY AVENUE was a fair triple winner on the Flat for Jim Bolger and could have more to offer for Mick Appleby. She takes on a field of 3-y-os here and could be the way to go. Chelmsford-winner Puntarelle is fancied as the main danger.

Today's drop from 1m should suit the strong-travelling SILVER NIGHTFALL (nap). The main danger is Time's Eye.

LTO Selection:

16:35 Newcastle Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

First-time blinkers proved the tonic for Killane, who appeared to win with something in hand at Sedgefield last month and he's not taken lightly off only 3lb higher in the handicap. However, fellow last-time-winner MAGIC MIKE boasts a lightly-raced profile and a 4lb rise in the ratings for his success at Perth could prove on the lenient side. The majority of the remainder have something to prove at present, with Irish Sovereign feared most now only 1lb higher than his Sedgefield triumph last March.

MAGIC MIKE showed a good attitude when opening his account at Perth last month and remains feasibly treated. He may be able to follow up. Sedgefield-winner Killane looks the likeliest danger, whilst Irish Sovereign also enters calculations.

The improving MAGIC MIKE can follow up his Perth success.

LTO Selection:

16:45 Beverley Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Eagle Prince showed the benefit of a wind operation when winning at Newcastle and if he improves for that seasonal debut he could be a player here off 4lb higher. The lightly-raced Tiamat is another to consider for a yard who have been flying in recent weeks and she could also get involved, but a chance is taken on SERENGETI SUNSET. The son of Roaring Lion pulled too hard over the Yarmouth mile on his return but may settle better now and it is noted that connections send him into a handicap as opposed to continuing in maiden company.

SERENGETI SUNSET is a good looker who is bred to be better than a mark of 73, so he might well build on his encouraging return at Yarmouth and make a successful start to handicaps. Last-time-out winner Roll It In Glitter is a danger and Orchestra is worthy of respect.

Plenty are in with a shout but SERENGETI SUNSET looks to start life in handicaps on a very workable mark and gets the vote.

16:50 Wetherby Maiden (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SHAYEKH made a promising start to his career when passing the post in front at Yarmouth last month, only to be demoted to second place in the stewards' room. Alice Haynes' colt holds leading claims on that performance and compensation could await here. Marroof offered something to work with when placing third on his debut at Bath earlier in the month and he's likely to be in the mix once more. Newcomers Dark Before Dawn and Room Service also warrant consideration.

MARROOF was green on debut but showed enough to think he can win a race like this now more clued up. Shayekh has achieved a bit more in form terms and should be respected while Dark Before Dawn is the pick of the newcomers.

Although clearly not straightforward after the interference he caused at Yarmouth, SHAYEKH must be talented.

LTO Selection:

16:55 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SYMPATHISE ran on well over a furlong shorter to win by a neck at Wolverhampton off 2lb lower last month, and the added furlong may help the lightly-raced mare to negate her rise in the handicap. Fact Or Fable seems an obvious rival with two of his four wins coming over this trip, including last time out at Brighton, and he won't be stopping having scored over further. The booking of Hollie Doyle for Won Love is a positive and he is another to note.

LETTER OF THE LAW did the job well under a typically positive ride when resuming winnings ways over a mile at Brighton recently and, with neither a 4 lb rise nor the drop back to 7f of any great concern, he is taken to follow up. Fellow last-time-out winners Sympathise and Fact Or Fable are feared most, in that order of preference. Also worth a mention is Irish-raider Stickyourneckout, who should benefit from the return to this trip.

Letter Of The Law and LILANDRA (both front-runners) appeal most, assuming they don't scupper each other.

17:00 Killarney Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

JUST AN HOUR has some very notable form on the Polytrack in Dundalk. He had two subsequent maiden winners behind him in third and fourth when runner-up over 1m in December. He may not have quite got home when a beaten favourite in third over an extended 1m2f at the end of March, however, the form got a massive boost when the winner won in Listed company at Chester last week. Signatory is highly thought of as he was due to contest a Group 3 in Leopardstown, but was scratched because of heavy ground. This former Dundalk runner-up has to be respected. Better ground and a longer trip give Duke Of Vienna a chance on his first start since switching to Jessica Harrington. The experienced Walsingham, Narmar and The Black Tiger could have something to offer.

Preference is for WALSINGHAM, who found some improvement when third at Gowran earlier this month and sets the standard on that form. Just An Hour and Narmar head the list of dangers.

JUST AN HOUR had his form boosted by San Antonio in the Dee Stakes and that sways the verdict in his favour.

LTO Selection:

17:10 Newcastle Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Red Vision is likely to prove popular after finishing fourth in a 15-runner affair at Southwell in late-April, with first-time cheekpieces likely to aid his cause today. Donald McCain's gelding merits serious consideration but preference is for STRONG TEAM, who was runner-up behind the progressive Lucky Lover Boy here in November and a reproduction of that effort may suffice. Dakota Moirette's mark continues to fall and reapplied headgear could spark a resurgence.

This can go to RED VISION, who has been given a chance by the handicapper and posted his best effort for some time when fourth at Southwell last month. Strong Team and Lady Hamilton can also make their presence felt.

A repeat of last November's C&D second might do the trick for STRONG TEAM.

LTO Selection:

17:15 Sligo Claimer 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

INFLECTION POINT has done most of his racing on the all-weather in recent times but looks good enough to win this back on the turf. He ran well in a claimer at Dundalk when last seen in late March and even off his lower grass mark of 64 he looks the pick in this company. It'll Do My Day comes out well treated at the weights and looks the danger. The grey hasn't made much impression in big field handicaps on his last couple of outings but did run well a few times this year, including when second at Bellewstown. The 62-rated Hurricane Helen is another who could be given a shout here and could be place material.

Last year's winner MASS GATHERING could be worth chancing. Scarlet Dancer and It'll Do My Day are respected also.

The overall standard set by INFLECTION POINT might just see him home here despite giving weight all round

17:20 Beverley Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

With a lack of winning form to work, with it may pay to side with PHILOS, who ran too freely when tried in blinkers over further at Southwell, but has some acceptable placed form to his name this season. If he fails to give his true running then Edwina Sheeran may be the one to step up, assuming she can repeat her Thirsk second off 1lb lower last month, while both Book Of Tales and Kilcummin could also have a say.

BOOK OF TALES has failed to meet market expectations on his last 2 runs but it's still early days and this looks a good opportunity for him back on turf. Philos might not be totally straightforward but can be a factor at this level, with Edwina Sheeran completing the shortlist.

In a modest contest BOOK OF TALES is taken to get off the mark with Edwina Sheeran and American Oak the main threats.

17:25 Wetherby Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Gold Guy was somewhat underwhelming when finishing down the field at Redcar recently and he may prove worth taking on, despite having sound claims if judged on his runner-up effort on debut at Newcastle in January. PURNIKA should have learned plenty from her racecourse bow when running green at Ayr earlier in the month and she's likely to improve on that fourth-placed finish. The daughter of Mondialiste gets the vote ahead of Glory Sky, who should appreciate this drop to 7f.

A chance is taken on AMERICAN AFFAIR, who needs to improve on what he has shown thus far but this step up in trip offers hope that he will be able to do just that. Gold Guy looked a hard ride at Redcar recently but if the new headgear helps him reproduce something akin to his debut form he will be a big player. Purnika needs a close look on the back of her introduction at Ayr, from which there were positives to take, and newcomer Perovskia is one to note in the betting.

Purnika looks set to take a good step forward but GOLD GUY is fancied to bounce back in returning headgear.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Several potential improvers having their first start of the season. It might be best to side with Aidan O'Brien's MAYBE JUST MAYBE who is the highest rated on a mark of 98. This filly won her maiden in Leopardstown and has a fourth in a Group 2 at the Curragh in the formbook. She holds an Irish 1,000 Guineas entry. Limerick winner Kayhana didn't really threaten on soft ground in Listed class at Leopardstown, but will enjoy this ground. Similar sentiments apply to Roscommon winner Impact Warrior who wasn't at her best on heavy ground in a Group 3 at Leopardstown. Drummin Life has the advantage of a run this season and is next best in the ratings behind Maybe Just Maybe.

IMPACT WARRIOR failed to cope with the mud/step up in class on just her second start at Leopardstown but a tongue tie goes on now and she's fancied to get back on the up. Maybe Just Maybe is sure to be well prepared for this reappearance and is feared most, ahead of Drummin Life.

This looks tricky but MAYBE JUST MAYBE is the top-rated and gets the nod in the hope that the ground doesn't soften.

17:40 Sandown Stakes (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A chance is taken with SEVEN ACES, who comes from a stable that know how to ready one, while her half-brother Clarendon House won on debut himself. Flora Of Bermuda cost 340,000 pounds at a recent breeze-up sale and she must enter calculations, along with Graceful Thunder for the in-form George Boughey team. Miss Mach One shaped with promise on her racecourse bow at Newmarket and she is entitled to improve.

Mostly newcomers, and the market should provide further clues, but George Boughey's GRACEFUL THUNDER is bred to be sharp, and makes plenty of appeal on paper. Andrew Balding's Flora of Bermuda cost a pretty packet when re-sold as a 2-y-o and has to be highly respected, along with once-raced Miss Mach One.

The form standard is set by MISS MACH ONE, while Line Of Fire is open to improvement. A few of the newcomers are interesting.

There was a lot to like about TOMMY TIME's facile win on his bumper debut at Kilbeggan last month and his new connections will be hoping that he can repay his subsequent 130,000-euro sale by triumphing under a 7lb penalty here. Fourtowns offered more encouragement when finishing fifth on his second appearance in a NH flat race at Down Royal earlier in the month, but a bigger threat may emerge from Captain Butler, who makes his racecourse bow on the back of a success between the flags.

TOMMY TIME made a good impression when completing a successful debut at Kilbeggan for Lorna Fowler and he's more than likely to defend his unbeaten record starting out for a new yard. Point-winner Captain Butler could pose the main threat and Slugger isn't totally discounted.

Iain Jardine's SLUGGER comes here after holding his own in two good races at Ayr and might be the answer.

MASTER GARVEY ran well to finish third here 16 days ago and may be able to strike now. The Dragon Pulse gelding stayed on well then from off the pace and has a better draw this time in stall five. He may be able to confirm form with the fourth-placed horse Senado Square. Andy Slattery's charge made his move turning for home the last day before fading late on. He was widest of all last time and the draw hasn't been kind again. Asgard's Captain ran well on his handicap debut at Dundalk last month and is still unexposed. He could be a big player now.

MASTER GARVEY showed there is a race in him here last time and could be the way to go. Senado Square and Meggy Moo should be in the mix also.

It might be worth taking a chance on ASGARD'S CAPTAIN who caught the eye when a strong finishing third at Dundalk last month

18:00 Wetherby Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

There was a lot of encouragement to be taken from PLATINUM GIRL's runner-up effort on her seasonal debut at Doncaster last month and a reproduction of that performance may be enough to see Tim Easterby's filly gain a first success today. Midnight Flame finished a fair fourth on her return to action at Catterick in mid-April and a further 2lb drop in the ratings should see her in the mix, while H Key Lails and Slingsbytoo also enter the equation.

PLATINUM GIRL took a step forward when second in a 15-runner event at Doncaster on return and, with an easy lead likely in this lesser race, she gets the nod ahead of Midnight Flame, who wasn't disgraced at Catterick a month ago. Slingsbytoo is also worth a mention in first-time headgear.

Doncaster runner-up PLATINUM GIRL holds leading form claims. Class-dropper Slingsbytoo is second choice.

18:05 Killarney Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Frankel colt FERNAO was gambled on ahead of her debut at Limerick last month and put in plenty of good late work for third after a tardy start. With that experience banked, and better ground on offer here, he is taken to improve. Arniemac wasn't given a hard time in second behind a clear-cut winner at Sligo and is entitled to come on for the run. Most Wanted has looked like a winner waiting to happen after two close third places at Leopardstown and Gowran Park. He drops back in trip and has solid claims. The one caveat is that his sire's progeny are showing a preference for some cut in the ground. This ground is drying out all the time. Caravaggio filly Valkyrie Gray is a newcomer from a strong yard that should be monitored in the market.

ARNIEMAC shaped well on sole start for John Feane last year and did so again starting out for this yard in a 5.7f maiden won by a decent type at Sligo. He was doing all his best worth at the finish there, leaving the strong impression that this step up in trip is just what he needs (pedigree also suggests that this trip, and perhaps further in time, will be far more suitable). He gets the nod ahead of a similar promising type in Fernao. Most Wanted and God Knows are strong candidates, too.

Third on his only two outings MOST WANTED has good prospects here with the form of his Gowran effort boosted by the runner-up

LTO Selection:

18:15 Sandown Handicap (Class 4) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The one with the potential to improve most for the step up in trip could be ROOST, whose most recent second at Doncaster was a highly-encouraging effort on his handicap debut. Enochdhu won well at Windsor last time out and must be respected, along with Cinnodin, who has won two of his last three starts and is proven over the distance.

ROOST should have more to offer over this sort of trip and could come home in front in first-time blinkers. It's a trappy contest though and cases can be made for most of the others, with Windsor-winner Enochdhu selected for the forecast.

Doncaster runner-up ROOST (nap) could well go one better. Cinnodin and Enochdhu are progressing nicely.

18:20 Sligo Maiden 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BLAZING SUNSET ran well in a decent maiden on his sole start at Killarney last July and should be good enough to win on his return. The Bated Breath colt missed the kick a bit on debut but stayed on nicely at the business end when fourth to Alder. That form has worked out well since with the winner second in the Dee Stakes at Chester the other day. The runner-up Hiawatha was group placed subsequently while the third horse Valiant King won easily at Navan on Saturday. Golden Temple sets the standard off a mark of 80 and has to be respected on the pick of his form last season. The Great Kingdom is an interesting debutant for Joseph O'Brien. The Dream Ahead gelding is a half-brother to St Leger winner Galileo Chrome.

BLAZING SUNSET likely has plenty more to offer and could be up to making a winning return. The Great Kingdom, a half-brother to the yard's St Leger hero Galileo Chrome, must be worth a look on debut, while stablemate Right Now should do better this year.

Not much leap of imagination is needed to come down on the side of Joseph O'Brien's well-bred newcomer THE GREAT KINGDOM

LTO Selection:

18:30 Wetherby Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SLAINTE MHATH has been in excellent form recently with wins at Redcar and Hamilton sandwiching a second at Thirsk, and connections send her here under a 5lb penalty looking to make the most of the cut in the ground. Mr Trevor didn't appear to get home over the mile here on his return, but three of his four wins have been over this trip and he could go well, along with top-weight Al Baahy, whose recent Wolverhampton third reads well in this company.

This looks wide open but MR TREVOR should be all the better with his reappearance behind him and with the return to 7f sure to suit he gets the vote. Rocket Rod and Slainte Mhath are fit and in form, which may take both a long way in this.

With his stable form and the return of headgear both big positives, ZUMURUD is preferred. Admiral Nelson is second choice.

LTO Selection:

18:35 Killarney Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MALACANNE was tough in winning his last two starts on the Polytrack in Dundalk. He gets a visor on this switch to turf and could give weight away to the field, particularly as those Dundalk successes were in higher grades. Sea Spray enters handicap company off a mark of 68 and it is reasonable to assume he could do a bit of damage as he was a close fourth in a Dundalk maiden in November. Dappled Light hasn't been beaten far in his last two starts in Dundalk and races off a lowly mark. He gets first-time cheekpieces. Elmo Lincoln attempted to make all over 7f in Gowran Park before finishing second. He is likely to have more horses behind him than in front of him. Jockey Jamie-Lee Gonet has finished runner-up in two of her three rides to date. She claims 10lb from Gunsight.

ELMO LINCOLN upped his game when second on handicap debut at Gowran last month and remains low mileage. He gets the nod. Sea Spray and Malacanne head the list of dangers.

In great form when last seen at Dundalk but had good turf form too, MALACANNE can continue his winning run.

LTO Selection:

18:45 Sandown Listed (Class 1) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

The John and Thady Gosden stable have won three of the last four renewals of this contest and they could have another smart sort on their hands in the shape of SLIPOFTHEPEN. A comfortable winner of both starts at Kempton, the three-year-old is well related and should have too much for Grey's Monument, who is far better than what he showed in the Greenham on his return. Finn's Charm wasn't for catching at Musselburgh last month and he could be dangerous once more if let loose on the lead.

SLIPOFTHEPEN outclassed the opposition in a brace of 1m novice events at Kempton 4 months apart and his Group 1 entries confirm the regard he's held in. He can remain unbeaten switched to turf, though Finn's Charm is a streetwise opponent who will be dangerous if getting into a nice rhythm at the head of affairs.

Highly promising SLIPOFTHEPEN is taken to come with a telling swoop and collar likely front-runner Finn's Charm late on.

18:50 Sligo Handicap 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

There may be more to come from TEA OLIVE stepping up in trip. The Mukhadram filly got up late on to pip Duke Of Leggagh at Gowran Park last month in a tight finish. The form has received a boost since with the third-placed Semblance Of Order winning a maiden at this track. A 5lb rise for that victory doesn't look harsh. Whisky On The Hill is the other last time out winner in the field, having scored over course and distance 16 days ago. He won with a bit in hand then so has to be respected despite a 8lb hike. Picture Of A City ran well on his handicap debut when fourth at Leopardstown and may appreciate dropping back a bit in trip here. He looks like another for the shortlist.

WHISKY ON THE HILL overcame a poor track position when successful here a fortnight ago and his revised mark looks well within range. Tea Olive also arrives on the up and is a threat, along with Show No Fear.

Although 8lb higher than for his success 16 days ago, WHISKY ON THE HILL won that in the style of an improver.

LTO Selection:

19:00 Wetherby Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Masque Of Anarchy likes this trip, with six of his seven career wins over 10f, but he may need a quicker surface to be seen at his best and preference is for DEFERRED, who steps back up in trip after looking outpaced over shorter at Beverley. He can go close off the same mark, though both the penalty-carrying Ayr winner Morning Sun and Pontefract fifth Western Stars could also pick up some prize money.

MASQUE OF ANARCHY added another victory to his impressive haul when scoring at Pontefract earlier this month and remains feasibly treated. He can score again. Morning Sun was having only his second start for Keith Dalgleish when winning at Ayr last week and is feared most, whilst Western Stars can also make his presence felt.

The interesting horse is last week's penalised Ayr winner MORNING SUN (nap), who is well related and has the potential to rate higher.

LTO Selection:

19:05 Killarney Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MISS CUNNING has a shot at following up her Cork success. The horses that chased her home in second and third have both come out and won on their next starts to really strengthen the form. In fact, the third-placed horse has won two races since Cork. Simply Sideways also arrives in winning form after a comfortable victory in Gowran Park. Afterwards, her trainer commented that she has got bigger and stronger. That gives her a chance of defying the handicapper who has tacked on 12lb. Double Martini was only beaten by a head on his last start in Dundalk. Rock Etoile and Kodiac Prince also have claims.

The suggestion is KODIAC PRINCE who stepped up on his reappearance when third at Gowran last week and looks capable of exploiting his current mark. Born Invincible wasn't seen to best effect in a big field at the Curragh last month and is an interesting contender having dipped below her last successful mark. Recent easy Gowran scorer Simply Sideways and Rock Etoile are others to consider.

This could be a good opportunity for KODIAC PRINCE who has become competitive again now that he is 9lb below his last winning mark

19:15 Sandown Stakes (Class 2) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

This looks an interesting contest but it may be best to side with TAJAWAL, who gets weight from all bar one of his rivals. Only beaten a length when third at Wolverhampton, despite hanging badly, he sports a first-time visor now which should keep him on the straight and narrow. Artistic Star might prove the biggest danger on his first start of the season after winning at Nottingham last October, while Royal Symbol returns form a very long absence for Charlie Appleby and has to give a stone or more to all of these.

A very interesting novice featuring 4 previous winners. ARTISTIC STAR looked a good prospect when getting the job done at the first attempt at Nottingham in October and, given his smart pedigree, he's open to oodles of improvement and edges the vote. Royal Symbol hasn't been seen for 17 months, but his debut win couldn't have worked out any better, while Torito and Clever Relation are others with plenty of potential to improve.

Trappy. TAJAWAL must be smart to have run so well in a strong maiden at Wolverhampton despite lacking focus in the closing stages.

19:20 Sligo Handicap 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The in-foal PERSIAN QUEEN may be able to bag another win before heading to the paddocks. She landed a serious gamble at Cork last time in testing conditions and connections will be hoping the juice stays in the ground today. She won with a nice bit in hand last time and a 10lb hike may not be enough to stop her following up. Tellthemi'mhere comes here on a hat-trick and was a good winner over course and distance 16 days ago. She is another trying to defy a 10lb hike and has to be respected. The top-weight Sir Antonino won twice last season, including at the Galway festival. His best form was on nice ground so any drying will be in his favour.

PERSIAN QUEEN justified strong support at Cork 11 days ago and, given the way she found for pressure there, this step back up in trip will likely suit. In From The Cold is well weighted in this sphere, with En Or worth a market check on Irish debut.

In-form mares are a dangerous species and PERSIAN QUEEN might be capable of defying a further hike in the weights.

LTO Selection:

19:30 Wetherby Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BERT KIBBLER was beaten less than a length at Ayr off this mark last time out and with the number one stall to help him, he could go close for a stable whose horses are running well. Dandy Spirit is looking for a hat-trick after narrow wins over this C&D and at Nottingham but a 5lb penalty may anchor him, leaving Hail Sezer as a bigger danger if he can repeat his all-weather form back on the turf.

BERT KIBBLER bumped into a well-treated rival when hitting the crossbar at Ayr recently and is taken to go one better off the same mark here. Next on the list is Abate, who has been given a chance by the handicapper and will be a threat if building on his reappearance spin at Thirsk, while Sherdil may also come on for his seasonal reappearance and is respected judged on his 2022 exploits. Dandy Spirit is bound to be a popular in his hat-trick bid but has more on his plate here under a penalty.

Preference is for SHERDIL, who would have found the ground too soft on his reappearance. A similar comment applies to Abate.

19:35 Killarney Handicap 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BAROMETER has an each-way chance at this trip. The last time he raced over an extended 2m on the Flat, he was a comfortable winner in Tramore and that was on better ground. Rich Belief kept on well for Seamie Heffernan to score over 1m5f in Navan. The duo are reunited here and another big run looks on the cards. Grappa Nonino is up in trip in this sphere, but has performed well in recent hurdle races including when he won at Navan in March. The Jam Man has switched stables and is more than capable of showing up well. It is worth noting that he has 11 victories across all codes. Swelltime fell when disputing the lead at the penultimate obstacle in a handicap hurdle at Limerick in March. He has plenty of form on the Flat to advertise his chance, though.

It's been a while since TAKARENGO last hit the target but he resumes in this sphere on a workable mark and is clearly in good nick judged on his solid effort over fences at Clonmel last month. The 7-y-o is marginally preferred to the Dermot Weld-trained Grappa Nonino, who was successful over hurdles in March and he put in a good shift back on the Flat at Sligo recently. Rich Belief, a winner at Navan on his reappearance, also has claims, along with Barometer and Swelltime.

It may be worth taking a chance with AWAY TO SEA who finished second in this race last year on his seasonal debut

LTO Selection:

19:45 Sandown Handicap (Class 3) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

This might get tactical and there is every chance that William Buick may have to make the running on Blue Universe, who has raced prominently in the past. If that does happen, GOD OF FIRE could try to sit on his shoulder throughout and, if he can then quicken up as he did to win his maiden in January, he may come out on top. If Not Now ran on late over further in a better race at Haydock but he may get tapped for pace if this turns into a sprint.

Preference is for BLUE UNIVERSE, who showed a good attitude when opening his account at Wolverhampton last month and remains low mileage. Both his rivals are open to improvement in a tight contest, with God of Fire narrowly preferred for the forecast spot.

All three colts are open to further progress. The percentage call goes to IF NOT NOW, who holds a Group 1 entry.

LTO Selection:

19:55 Sligo Maiden 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MARVELOSA sets the standard here off a mark of 75 and this looks a nice opportunity to get her head in front. The Ribchester filly was runner-up in handicap company here 16 days ago and a similar run may be enough to make the breakthrough at the 11th attempt. Isotta, rated 69, has been runner-up three times from seven outings and looks an obvious danger. Cara Susanna has a few solid enough runs and has a mark of 67. She is fitted with blinkers now and Oisin Enright takes 10lb off her back to leave her on a nice weight.

MARVELOSA has had quite a few goes but this looks like a gilt-edged chance to open her account. She's the standout on form and arrives on the back of a good effort, so she's preferred to Cara Susanna, who is open to improvement. Isotta is the pick of the others.

Trappy. MON COEUR was decent in bumpers and not disgraced over hurdles this winter, so could become a rare 7yo winner of a Flat maiden.

LTO Selection:

20:05 Wetherby Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

IRON SHERIFF drew clear of his rivals in decisive fashion in an apprentice contest at Newcastle last time out and it would be no surprise if the five-year-old can repeat that feat in this contest, despite a 7lb hike in the ratings. 2lb of that rise is negated by Jonny Peate now being able to claim his full 5lb allowance and this drop back to a mile shouldn't pose many problems. Swinging Eddie kept on to lead in the final strides at Beverley last time out and demands respect off 4lb higher, while Drakeholes warrants consideration stepping up in trip in these calmer waters.

SWINGING EDDIE might be able to defy a 4 lb rise for Beverley. Esticky End did well at a similar time last year and could be a threat on his reappearance, particularly if the betting vibes are strong. Martin's Brig and Drakeholes are others who should be in the shake-up.

With her yard in excellent form, BAY DREAM BELIEVER could well get off the mark. Swinging Eddie is second choice.

20:10 Killarney Stakes 14f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Taipan is best in at the weights and this 100-rated gelding was only caught close home over an extended 1m4f at Tipperary last month. He is sure to be popular, but slight preference is for Paul Nolan's HMS SEAHORSE. He is better known for his hurdling exploits, but is more than proficient on the Flat as he showed when landing a premier handicap at the Curragh last summer. He has form on good ground. Spasiba is the dark horse. He has only had three runs and is up in trip. He won his maiden at Roscommon and wasn't beaten far in his other two races. Venice Biennale isn't out of contention.

TAIPAN has returned this spring with a pair of runner-up efforts and is taken to get his head back in front now. The unexposed Spasiba is second choice ahead of Venice Biennale.

The conditions of the race suit TAIPAN who gets a hopeful vote to improve a modest strike rate that hardly reflects his ability

LTO Selection:

20:20 Sandown Handicap (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

New Heights won this last year and has to be considered again, though she races off 8lb higher and hasn't been at her best in two starts this season on the all-weather. She can still go close as can Arenas Del Tiempo, who is finally back down to the same mark as her last success at Epsom in August 2021. That said, MOUNTAIN QUEEN is the one in good form after running on over a mile when second two starts ago and she wasn't disgraced over 1m2f last time

GERT LUSH should be all the sharper for her recent Bath reappearance and the booking of William Buick catches the eye so she's the suggestion. Last year's winner New Heights hasn't fired in 2 AW outings this spring but it could be a different story back here and she's feared most ahead of Tom Dascombe's Mountain Queen.

While Mountain Queen is the only runner arriving here on the back of a competitive performance, a chance is taken on GERT LUSH.

20:30 Sligo Maiden 13f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

RATTLE AND HUM ran well on his return to action at Cork last month and should be able to open his account in a moderate enough looking maiden. The New Bay gelding stayed on well to press Matt Connor close home and get within a neck. Stepping up in trip now looks like it should suit. His trainer Joseph O'Brien also saddles Rapparee Champ and money for him would be noteworthy. The Churchill colt is a half-brother to listed winner Fernando Vichi. Chicago Storm ran well on his first start for Peter Fahey when fifth to Party Central at Gowran Park last month. He looks capable of getting involved for the minor money now.

NIKINI has shown more than enough over jumps to think she can make a winning Flat debut and is comfortably preferred to Rattle And Hum, who has achieved most in this discipline. Newcomer Rapparee Champ is one to note if the market speaks in his favour.

Joseph O'Brien's RATTLE AND HUM (nap) does set a good standard on his maiden form and his close second in a Cork handicap last time

20:40 Wetherby Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

KODEBREAKER has been knocking on the door of late and gets the nod to record a fourth career victory. The son of Kodi Bear hit the line with plenty of conviction when third of 17 over 7f last time out at Doncaster and rates a big player off just 1lb higher, with the step up in a trip to suit. Premiership kicked clear of his rivals at Pontefract on his latest outing and rates the most immediate danger off 5lb higher. Fiftyshadesofred also warrants respect now eased in grade.

PREMIERSHIP was well on top at Pontefract so a 5 lb rise looks more than fair. Fiftyshadesofred could be a dangerous opponent off his lower turf mark. Kodebreaker and Makalu are also likely to be on the premises.

So long as his good run at Chelmsford proves no false dawn then FIFTYSHADESOFRED should go well off a handy mark.
