Made most on handicap debut (1m2f; 7th); not bred for this far and has major work to do.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Hi Ya Mal failed to complete a double but was far from disgraced when a close third at Sandown last time and is one to take seriously. However, PENDRAGON showed a big chunk of improvement after being gelded to readily make a winning handicap debut at Ripon and now has a 6lb penalty to carry. This rise in distance looks a good move and he will prove difficult to beat. Ice Jet looks best of the rest.

Ice Jet and Hi Ya Mal bring notable positives but there is still no great temptation to take on Sir Mark Prescott's PENDRAGON.

ANGLE LAND overcame a tardy start to score narrowly over C&D and a 4lb rise may not be enough to stop her from going in again. The Feminine Urge has strong claims on her success at Windsor, although she did disappoint at Wolverhampton subsequently. One For Harvey is another looking to bounce back after a below-par display when favourite over track and trip.

What happens at the start may prove decisive and ONE FOR HARVEY is given another chance with the weather seemingly set fair.

FAVORITE MEMORY finished 13 lengths clear of Cloaks Of Gold (third) when hitting the crossbar at Kempton earlier this month and is expected to confirm that form. The daughter of Frankel has shaped as if she will relish this extra furlong and will prove tough to stop. Luxmundi progressed from her first start to make the frame at Southwell and could have plenty more to offer.

A high head carriage last time was striking but FAVORITE MEMORY still stayed on strongly enough to beat Cloaks Of Gold by 13l.

The Stuart Williams stable could not be in better form and this represents a decent opportunity for AZLEET to get off the mark following a highly promising second on debut at Chelmsford. Third behind representatives of powerful yards at Lingfield and Newmarket, this could prove an easier assignment for Daretobedifferent. Mehmas Air Force also has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of her second at Bath.

Daretobedifferent and Mehmas Air Force can be involved but AZLEET can show the benefit of a recent AW second on her debut.

Emiyn hasn't been at his best on the level recently but he sets the standard back over timber and must be given the utmost respect. However, it might pay to side with MOHAWK CHIEF. Not beaten far into fourth over 2m4f at Ffos Las recently, the five-year-old ought to relish these extra couple of furlongs. Sporting Glance has few miles on the clock and the application of first-time cheekpieces could prompt some improvement.

His second at Aintree in October suggested that this year's Chester Cup sixth EMIYN should be capable of paying his way over hurdles.

Meet Me In Meraki produced an improved display when second at Lingfield and is one to watch out for off an unchanged rating. The seven-year-old had Annexation (fifth) over four lengths behind when fourth in this class at Leicester and is 1lb lower. With Sean Levey booked, he looks the way to go.

This looks tricky but MEET ME IN MERAKI gets the vote ahead of Bearwith and Bay Dream Believer.

A promising second on his first go over this trip at Redcar last month, CAPTAIN BRETT has been in consistent form and David Simcock's charge may be able to break the maiden at the eighth time of asking. Captious Cantor ran a career best when third at Wolverhampton and she is a leading contender, along with Radical Design for an in-form stable.

There are possibilities about Captious Cantor now up in trip but CAPTAIN BRETT ought to have a race in him on his recent efforts.

Although winless over hurdles, there was lots to like about the seasonal return of LADY MENDOZA last month. Rebecca Menzies' charge didn't wilt when headed over C&D, instead keeping on well towards the finish. She competes from an unchanged mark today and might provide some value. Ocean Legacy won over 3m3f at Sedgefield in April but she ought to go close should a drop in trip come as no inconvenience. Varinia is also noted.

The suggestion is REEL HER IN who hasn't got a lot going for her over hurdles so far but she returns to this scene after a Flat win.

Having looked something of an unlucky loser when denied a clear run at Goodwood a fortnight ago, DISPLAYING makes plenty of appeal. A 1lb nudge up the ratings could prove to be lenient for Andrew Balding's charge and a breakthrough victory may beckon. Elsass arrives on the back of a solid second in a Hamilton maiden and an opening mark of 73 should be workable. The son of Sottsass is feared most, ahead of Telecommunication.

Elsass for the in-form Charlie Johnston brings some potential to his handicap debut. DISPLAYING was a luckless second at Goodwood.

MOND outran odds of 25/1 to take the silver medal home at Lingfield and if the seven-year-old can back that performance up, he will prove hard to beat. Tommy's Promise made the frame in a class 6 amateur jockeys' handicap at the same venue and could have more to offer on only his second outing for the John Ryan yard. Cryptos Dream is the pick of the remainder.

Anything Charlie Clover saddles currently is worth considering and ZAFAAN makes most appeal. Mond rates the main danger.

A confident vote goes to FAIRLAWN FLYER, who completed a four-timer in fine style over track and trip last month. Age Of Baroque justified strong support in the betting when landing the spoils at Southwell and, despite shouldering a 5lb penalty, he warrants respect in his follow-up bid. The four-year-old competes off a 1lb lower mark than when a close-up second over C&D and compensation may beckon. Stable debutant Rascal Recknell has slipped down the ratings and a market check is advised.

A major improver from first to second start for new connections over C&D last month, DEFENCE WITNESS is likely to have more improvement forthcoming and he can follow up off 2lb higher. Placed on each of his last three outings at Hexham, Follow Your Arrow is entitled to be thereabouts again, as well as the veteran Lermoos Legend, who was a creditable second here last time out.

The 11yo WHOSHOTTHESHERIFF is without a win since 2022 but has shown this year that he retains spark and earns the vote.

TROPICAL HEAT makes her handicap debut off a mark of 65 and if the application of a first-time tongue-tie brings her back to the level of her debut Salisbury second, she has every chance with Saffie Osborne retaining the ride. Piranha Rama won three times over this trip as a two-year-old and deserves serious consideration, while Irish raider Lyra Constellation is worth a market watch in first-time blinkers.

Several have possibilities but BIG APPLE JACK was an eyecatching third at Redcar last week and he gets the vote ahead of Alashos.

Flowstate has to be of interest at the bottom of the weights after his Hamilton third off 2lb higher, but he may have to settle for a place if WILLOLARUPI runs to form. Successful at Redcar in May, he followed that with a fast-finishing head second at Pontefract and a clear run could see the four-year-old get back to winning ways. Noble Consort brings consistency to the table after five top-two finishes in a row on the all-weather, although he is yet to show that level on turf.

This looks tight between WILLOLARUPI, Minnesota Lad, Taygar and Noble Consort.

A few of these having something to prove and it might pay to side with veteran of the field THE COLA BRASIL. Michael Bell's nine-year-old returned to form when filling the runner-up spot at Hamilton, an effort that has been somewhat franked, so he ought to go close. Visored for the first time, Castellina remains open to improvement and must enter calculations, while similar applies to Rock Master, who has had just three races on grass so far.

A half-sister to a string of useful winners for her trainer, CASTELLINA gets the nod dropping to 0-50 company in first-time headgear.

MINERVA was reportedly very green when beaten at a short price on her debut at Leopardstown just over three weeks ago. She finished third to stable companion Moments Of Joy, who has run well since to finish third at Royal Ascot. Cape Sounion has been runner-up on her two outings to date and is the obvious danger. Her form is strong because stablemate Balantina, who beat her last time, has been placed in the Albany since. The other Ballydoyle filly Composing was fifth behind Cape Sounion over 6f here, but may get closer with that run under her belt.

Most appealing is CAPE SOUNION who finished close behind the Albany third in a maiden at this track last time

SECRET OATH couldn't match the pace of the impressive Zelania when runner-up over the minimum trip at Nottingham. Saying that, the Godolphin filly stayed on well for second and gave the strong impression today's extra yardage would suit in the process. Mood Queen also came up against a smart winner when second at Kempton. The daughter of Kodiac looks likely to have a say in the outcome, while Butterfly Beach cost a hefty 470,000gns and is a newcomer to note.

The similar types SECRET OATH and Mood Queen are the biggest players on form. Butterfly Beach is the pick of the newcomers.

FOUR BLONDES ran much better in a first-time hood and can strike here, despite going up 3lb for her recent performance. The Gleneagles filly was a touch unlucky when chasing home Declaree in a competitive race at Gowran Park and looks up to scoring again now. Ribchestina was almost three lengths behind the selection last time and is 4lb better off. She is also tried in a hood. Dark Viper ran another solid race when fifth at Leopardstown and could be place material.

Front-runner RIBCHESTINA finished behind Four Blondes last time at Gowran when running keenly, she can reverse the placings

Beaten only a neck over 7f at Yarmouth last time, ABLOOM improves with every start. The progressive Haggas filly showed a willing attitude on that occasion and pedigree suggests she should have even more to offer over today's longer distance. The progressive ABLOOM is the form pick on her latest effort and she's bred to be suited by the new trip. Azaniya is interesting.

Not the strongest looking maiden for the course and BOOGIE INTHEJUNGLE may be able to make a winning return. She shaped nicely on her sole outing last term when fourth to Majestic Wave at Navan in October. The form of that race is fairly solid and, with natural improvement, she's up to landing a race of this standard. Made U Blush sets the standard with a mark of 77. She ran well on her return at Leopardstown and drops back in trip after not performing to the same level at Cork over an extended 10 furlongs. Ithacan Queen is an interesting newcomer for Henry de Bromhead. She is a half-sister to a couple of winners.

Of those with form, BOOGIE INTHEJUNGLE (nap) could have the greater scope for improvement than Made U Blush in an ordinary maiden

CALLIANASSA chased home a couple of nice types when finishing third at Haydock. Brian Ellison's filly looked outpaced that day so stepping up from 7f could elicit the necessary improvement. Starliner gained a deserved success at Hamilton so is respected from 2lb higher now back on an artificial surface. Others to note include Beechdale and Ajdayet.

The 3yo Kameel is 2-2 here and is an intriguing candidate but QUIET RESOLVE also likes it here and is taken to come out on top.

Meleri won nicely on the Polytrack at Lingfield and merits consideration raised only 3lb. She's preferred to Enthused, who landed an amateurs race over a shorter trip at Chelmsford, but the progressive CROWD QUAKE makes most appeal of the three recent winners. Stuart Williams' charge escapes a penalty for his latest success, having landed an apprentices race over a mile here last week, and this longer trip is within his compass.

Two of the runners are ahead of the assessor but not bombproof. MELERI and Expressionless are plausible alternatives.

REFRESHMENT is an obvious pick having won his last two starts and can continue his progression, being just a three-year-old. He met various types of in-running issues in his early career starts but has really found his niche racing over this distance in recent weeks, while also benefitting from the application of blinkers. Genuine Jim was in top form earlier in the season and returns having been gelded. He is 9lb higher than when winning at Cork though and would also ideally prefer an ease. Ransom missed the break before running on well at Leopardstown recently and is suited by conditions.

Plenty with chances, preference for GENUINE JIM, gelded since his Cork win in April and from a yard having a good run

It looks best to side with DIAMOND RAIN, who made it three wins from five when landing Listed honours at Haydock. The Shamardal filly will need to prove herself on an artificial surface but, if handling conditions, she will be tough to beat. Morrophore was an impressive winner at Ascot and is well worth considering now upped in class. Market support for Tasmania, who hasn't been seen since finishing sixth in the Pretty Polly at the Curragh a year ago, would be noteworthy.

Charlotte's Web is hugely respected but AW newcomer DIAMOND RAIN is the pick after her Haydock win.

Cape Flora warrants plenty of respect on her handicap debut for the Gosdens and she can go close off a mark of 70, but FRENCH HAVEN is narrowly preferred. Only beaten a head off this rating at Ripon, she sports first-time cheekpieces and, as she is due to go up 3lb for future races, she is entitled to go close. Aim For The Moon has to be respected too.

Unexposed contenders CAPE FLORA (narrowly preferred) and Tequila are interesting alternatives to the in-form French Haven.

OUR FRIEND MOUSE showed plenty of ability when finishing second in a Guineas-weekend maiden over C&D last month. He finished his race very well and the form has taken a boost with the fourth-placed horse scoring subsequently. Game Point, rated 88, continues to run to a useful level and bumped into a nice newcomer at Gowran recently. Tswalu was beaten by the slow-starting subsequent Ulster Oaks winner at Cork last month and is capable of a decent showing.

Both Game Point and Tswalu have shown enough ability to win a maiden but a chance is taken on OUR FRIEND MOUSE

Vintage Clarets landed this prize in 2023 and is interesting once again following a creditable fifth in the Dash at Epsom, but it is last year's victor BERGERAC who gets the nod. On target at Hamilton earlier this month, Kevin Ryan's charge is 1lb well-in under the penalty. That leaves him 3lb higher than when landing the corresponding event 12 months ago, but he remains competitively treated nonetheless. Jakajaro is an infrequent winner in truth, but he continues to edge down the weights and is drawn well.

The last two winners of this race line up again and VINTAGE CLARETS (nap) can get the better of Bergerac.

Four-year-olds have won the last two runnings of this race, and that points to the chances of ZARIELA, twice a winner over a mile but only fifth last time out on slower ground at Windsor. If kept nearer to the early pace for a late challenge, he could get back to winning ways on this going. Saxonia deserves a second success after going under by a neck at Newmarket off 1lb lower and looks to be her biggest rival, while I Can Imagine may make the running and try to hold on for a place.

Consistent SAXONIA holds leading claims after running well over C&D last Friday. Earthwatch is second choice.

CINAMMON COCO tried a mile and a half for the first time when a fine second at Roscommon and remains open to further progression. He initially raced over shorter distances but, having performing with credit over an extended 1m1f at Ballinrobe, benefited further from stepping up in trip last time, in a race which is working out well. He is 1lb wrong at the weights, but has an experienced apprentice on board. Fellow three-year-old Jr Mahon is 3lb out of the handicap, but ran well on his handicap debut at Limerick. Pillar Of Hope's rating has dropped markedly from 79 last June and he is worth some thought.

One of two improving 3yos in the field for Joseph O'Brien, FORTUNE VERA shaped like a step up in trip would suit at Gowran last time.

It took a while for MISS RAINBOW to get off the mark but, now that she has, the four-year-old continues to go from strength to strength and a 4lb rise for her most recent success over further at Catterick may prove lenient. Just denied when short of room and running on late at Wetherby, Newyorkstateofmind is capable of being in the shake-up again, as is Pockley, who has an excellent record here. Others to note include Gis A Sub, Highjacked and King Of The Jungle.

Top of the list is MISS RAINBOW, who is on a roll after her two turf wins and may well be able to strike again back on AW.

Having scored a shade cosily at Newbury three days ago, Mr Ubiquitous warrants respect in his follow-up bid. However, a 6lb penalty and rise in grade does demand another career-best performance from Harry Eustace's gelding and preference is for the down-in-class SIXTYGEESBABY. The Starspangledbanner gelding looked one to follow when completing a double at Doncaster in April and may leave his subsequent fourth-placed handicap bow on the Rowley Mile behind him. Roman Centurion is the pick of the remainder.

With the cheekpieces retained, DAPPER GUEST could well complete a quickfire C&D double. Mr Ubiquitous is feared most.

Ten-time winner SAN ANDREAS should give rider Robin De Pelsmaeker a chance of claiming Corinthian Challenge success here, being an able performer. Rated 108 at his peak in 2022, the selection has a better all-weather record than on turf but drops in grade, having contested a competitive Leopardstown handicap last month. Duke Of Leggagh, the mount of Madison Clancy, was a Roscommon winner last month and can compete at the business end. Prairie Dancer is another to consider.

PRAIRIE DANCER is of most interest. He is used to carrying big weights in jumps races and stays well.

Narrowly denied on her last two starts, KELDEO deserves a change in luck and this appeals as an ideal opportunity for Ollie Pears' filly to get back to winning ways. That may be at the main expense of Parisiac, who has run with credit since scoring off 5lb lower at Hamilton last month. Herakles and surprise Pontefract winner Speeding Bullet may also have a say in proceedings.

3lb well in after a good second at Southwell ten days ago, this looks a good opportunity for KELDEO to record a first AW success.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
