1st (2) (17/2 -89%)El Galactico |
17/2(-89%) | (2) El Galactico 17/2, Runner-up beaten 2l in a maiden hurdle over 2m6f at Fontwell only start; could improve but needs to in stronger contest Kept the favourite honest at Fontwell and the winner had been third in a Listed bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/10 +0%)Miss Goldfire |
11/10(+0%) | (3) Miss Goldfire 11/10, Well backed when winning a handicap hurdle here by 15l last time; steadily progressive; strong stayer at 3m; should be thereabouts Had been looking a shade exposed but now seeks a hat-trick after two clearcut wins. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/10 +32%)Deep Purple |
11/10(+32%) | (1) Deep Purple 11/10, Ran to form fourth beaten 3l in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Warwick latest; that strong form; steadily progressive; step up in trip a plus; threat Point/bumper/maiden winner who wasn't beaten far in a small field on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (50/1 -100%)Soldier At Arms |
50/1(-100%) | (4) Soldier At Arms 50/1, 27l fourth in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Sedgefield first-time out where met trouble; up in trip; hard to recommend Has the weakest form claims of the four after finishing well held in a Sedgefield maiden. |

MISS GOLDFIRE bolted up in handicap company over track and trip last month and she has gone from strength to strength since December. Harry Fry's mare could have more to offer and can complete the hat-trick. Deep Purple finished last of four on his handicap debut at Warwick but sets the standard with an official rating of 119. El Galactico can beat Soldier At Arms home for third.

Deep Purple and El Galactico are definite dangers but MISS GOLDFIRE can win again under 7lb claimer Ciaran O'Shea.

1st (6) (5/6 +76%)Midnight Tango |
5/6(+76%) | (6) Midnight Tango 5/6, 4l fourth in a novice at Newmarket first-time out; top course jockey; should improve; in the mix From a stable in fine form and showed promise over this trip on debut at Newmarket; claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (85/40 -70%)Blue Nguru |
85/40(-70%) | (2) Blue Nguru 85/40, Headed late third beaten a length in a maiden at Goodwood on promising debut; down in grade; leading claims Shaped well when third to a well-regarded sort at Goodwood on debut; leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (18/1 -300%)Alex Supreme |
18/1(-300%) | (1) Alex Supreme 18/1, Yard won this last year; slowly away third beaten 9l in a novice at Ripon debut; should improve; chance Ability at an ordinary level on debut a week ago; needs to step up a fair way to win this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (20/1 -186%)March Ahead |
20/1(-186%) | (5) March Ahead 20/1, Filly by top-class sprinter Dream Ahead; half-sister to American Style, very useful at 6f; dam smart miler Dance On The Day; probably effective 6f; likely to come on for experience Half-sister to a useful 5f-6f winner; market should be a good guide to prospects on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (40/1 -21%)Indigo Sierra |
40/1(-21%) | (4) Indigo Sierra 40/1, Sold for 16,000 GBP as a 2yo; filly by high-class miler Space Blues; half-sister to Love Wars, very useful at 5f; dam very useful sprinter Ariena; probably effective 6f; unlikely winner on debut Speedy pedigree and, although yard not renowned for debut winners, is one to note. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (8/1 +50%)Impalaka |
8/1(+50%) | (3) Impalaka 8/1, Sold for 52,000 GBP as a 2yo; filly by high-class sprinter Kodiac; full-sister to Opportunity Knocks, poor at 6f; dam very useful miler Wild Impala; probably effective 6f; threat Cost £52,000 at the breeze-ups and is out of a 7f-1m1f winner; market should guide. |

Despite taking a keen hold, BLUE NGURU shaped with lots of promise when a close third on her debut at Goodwood and she could take a step forward. Archie Watson's filly looks to have been found a nice opportunity to get off the mark. Midnight Tango wasn't disgraced in fourth on her first start at Newmarket last month and she has to be respected for the in-form Ed Walker yard. Any market confidence behind March Ahead would be interesting.

Midnight Tango is a player but the one who appeals most is BLUE NGURU, who shaped well at Goodwood on debut and should improve

1st (1) (10/3 -67%)Star Legend |
10/3(-67%) | (1) Star Legend 10/3, Although weak in the betting, he looked well handicapped and justified that when winning over 1m6f at Catterick last time. He steps up in trip here for a trainer in good form and has been a consistent performer. Has won three of his last four Flat starts and he's a big player again in hat-trick bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (15/8 +46%)Poncho |
15/8(+46%) | (2) Poncho 15/8, Struggled at Ascot last time, possibly due to racing too freely, but had shown decent form before that. Settling better could be key to his chances. C&D winner but he flopped at Ascot last time and needs to bounce back; one of two for yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/1 +58%)Home And Dry |
5/1(+58%) | (4) Home And Dry 5/1, Well beaten over hurdles on his latest start and was seventh of eight when last seen on the Flat in October. Has something to prove now. Sole win was in 2021 and has struggled under both codes in his last three runs; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (3/1 +25%)Donald Llewellyn |
3/1(+25%) | (3) Donald Llewellyn 3/1, Returned to form with a close third off 66 at Kempton last time. Looked poorly placed on his previous outing but may be well treated on current marks. Record of 4-11 on AW and was a creditable third at Kempton (2m) latest; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (7/1 -75%)Dubai Harbour |
7/1(-75%) | (5) Dubai Harbour 7/1, Won narrowly here over 10f off 53 on his latest outing, confirming his liking for the track. Returns from a break and steps up in trip but is consistent overall. Two wins here (1m2f) during the winter but has bit to prove on this step up to 2m. |

STAR LEGEND was on target at Chelmsford last month before following up at Catterick next time and, despite having more to do under a 5lb penalty, James Owen's in-form gelding is expected to complete the hat-trick. Gary and Josh Moore's pair Poncho and Donald Llewellyn look potential dangers. The former, who receives a welcome drop in class, could be the bigger threat of the two.

Preference is for STAR LEGEND, who completed a double at Catterick last week and may well be able to strike again under a penaty.

1st (3) (11/8 +73%)Roger Pol |
11/8(+73%) | (3) Roger Pol 11/8, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m at Kempton latest where let down by jumping; usually held up; returning from a break; may just need this Last season's chase win came off this mark and he is a maiden winner over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (4/1 +20%)Party Business |
4/1(+20%) | (4) Party Business 4/1, Looked to want further fourth beaten 11l in a handicap hurdle at Worcester latest; can race lazily; not the force of old but has dropped in weights; outside chance Has ground to make up with Ernest Gray on their recent Worcester clash. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/4 +29%)Pounding Poet |
5/4(+29%) | (2) Pounding Poet 5/4, Did not get a clear run beaten a neck off 117 over 3m at Ayr last time; looked touch unlucky that day; trainer in form; off a short-break; well treated on best form; strong claims Off his reduced mark he staged a revival of sorts when a rallying third at Ayr. |

ERNEST GRAY showed a big chunk of improvement when sporting first-time cheekpieces to score in good style at Worcester last month and the assessor may have been kind to only put him up 4lb. With a similar performance, he will prove tough to beat. Pounding Poet finished a close third in a stronger event at Ayr and is a previous C&D winner to take seriously. Party Business makes more appeal than Roger Pol.

Ernest Gray is 2-2 over hurdles on good ground but POUNDING POET is well handicapped and ran his best race for a while at Ayr.

1st (6) (4/1 +33%)Hurt You Never |
4/1(+33%) | (6) Hurt You Never 4/1, Well backed when scored by a length off 65 here three starts back; fourth beaten 2l off 70 last time; may contend Goes well here and closely matched with Parisiac on last week's C&D form; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/1 -100%)Parisiac |
7/1(-100%) | (5) Parisiac 7/1, Landed a handicap by a nose off 66 here last time; 5lb rise steep but has won from higher marks; respected Returned to winning ways over C&D last week but is 3lb badly in under his penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (4/1 +60%)Stash The Cash |
4/1(+60%) | (2) Stash The Cash 4/1, Below par beaten 7l in a handicap at Thirsk last time; usually consistent; 2/2 over C&D; top jockey back on board; contender Dual C&D winner but may need conditions to ease before he's seen to best effect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (6/4 +57%)Eternal Sunshine |
6/4(+57%) | (3) Eternal Sunshine 6/4, Heavily backed beaten 1/2l off 71 at Ayr last time, getting going too late; top course jockey/trainer combination; leading claims Multiple winner who is in decent heart; claims, particularly if there's plenty of pace. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (11/1 -38%)Willingly |
11/1(-38%) | (8) Willingly 11/1, Much improved effort beaten a neck off 50 at Chepstow last time; enjoys making it; this tougher; remains a threat Had the run of the race when touched off at Chepstow last week and can't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (17/2 -70%)Betweenthesticks |
17/2(-70%) | (7) Betweenthesticks 17/2, Yard won this last year; well backed when landing a handicap by 3/4l off 65 at Catterick last time; won twice already this year; not out of it Decent strike-rate for in-form team and won at Catterick last time; respected up 4lb. |

Betweenthesticks struck by just under a length at Catterick last time and holds an obvious chance, but the vote goes to ETERNAL SUNSHINE. Jim Goldie's mare failed to justify favouritism when a close third at Ayr last month, but she was arguably disadvantaged by the run of the race. With more pace on offer this time around, she could be the one to beat. Willingly is another to watch out for.

An open race can go the way of HURT YOU NEVER, who has a good chance at the weights and can reverse recent placings with Parisiac

1st (4) (7/2 +0%)Dutch Finale |
7/2(+0%) | (4) Dutch Finale 7/2, Never recovered from a poor start when well beaten at Nottingham last time; unplaced in all four starts and switches to Polytrack for the first time needing to prove himself. Lost chance at the start on h'cap debut/2025 return; bred to be much better than this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/1 -56%)Blewburton |
7/1(-56%) | (3) Blewburton 7/1, Ran his best race for some time when second, beaten just ½ length off a mark of 65 over 6f at Kempton; looks suited by the trip and races off 67 here with blinkers retained. Chased home Ballsgrove Boy four weeks ago; not sure to reverse the placings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (15/2 -36%)Ballsgrove Boy |
15/2(-36%) | (10) Ballsgrove Boy 15/2, Scored off a mark of 55 at Kempton last time, winning by ½ length; up 4lb but still well treated on earlier placed efforts and should remain competitive. Off the mark at Kempton latest; still has more to offer; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/2 +50%)Foro Romano |
11/2(+50%) | (1) Foro Romano 11/2, Raced too freely and used up energy when fourth, beaten 5¼ lengths, in a Kempton handicap off a mark of 68 last time; returns from a short break and remains consistent over 5f–6f, though may not stay further. Two near misses for current stable; not at his best last time; yard runs two here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (33/1 -136%)Spring |
33/1(-136%) | (9) Spring 33/1, Beaten 5¼ lengths at Wolverhampton over 6f last time and possibly better at the minimum trip; generally consistent and may prefer an easier 6f track. Not seen to best effect in either start this year; could still have mileage in her mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/1 +25%)Nacho Nacho Nacho |
9/1(+25%) | (5) Nacho Nacho Nacho 9/1, Returned to the level of his debut when fourth, beaten 4 lengths, in a Wolverhampton novice over 5f; shaped as though he may improve for the step back up to 6f. Promise in two of his three runs; moves into handicaps with the potential for better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (8/1 +56%)Horus |
8/1(+56%) | (8) Horus 8/1, Finished down the field at Windsor latest, but had gone close over 5f here previously; steps back up to 6f and needs to bounce back to earlier form. C&D win on New Year's Eve; in and out in 2025 and has the widest stall to contend with. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (10/3 +58%)Midnight City |
10/3(+58%) | (2) Midnight City 10/3, Faded on his second start back on turf when beaten 9½ lengths at Newmarket off 68; has shown stronger form on the all-weather and returns to that surface now in first-time cheekpieces. 7lb lower than when 3rd on handicap debut in February; no progress since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (28/1 -100%)March To The Band |
28/1(-100%) | (6) March To The Band 28/1, Comfortably held on turf debut in a Haydock handicap last time; blinkers now applied for the first time and returns to the all-weather with something to prove on recent form. Looks on a tough mark and was a distant 5th on recent handicap debut; more required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (20/1 -43%)Sultan Of Oj |
20/1(-43%) | (7) Sultan Of Oj 20/1, Well beaten when last seen in a Windsor novice on soft ground last August; returns from a long layoff and makes his AW debut needing to show more. Unplaced in three runs for another yard last year but showed ability; check the betting. |

Although MIDNIGHT CITY hasn't been at his best on turf recently, a return to the all-weather could spark an improved performance. Richard Spencer's charge finds himself well handicapped from a mark of 68 and a couple of his best efforts came in the returning cheekpieces. Blewburton is 2lb better off with his Kempton conqueror Ballsgrove Boy and the pair are likely to be closely matched again. Dutch Finale, who disappointed having been well supported on his seasonal return at Nottingham, could also step forward.

Dutch Finale is still open to considerable progress but BALLSGROVE BOY (nap) won tidily last month and can defy a small rise.

1st (4) (6/1 +40%)Police Academy |
6/1(+40%) | (4) Police Academy 6/1, Probably needed race comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Aintree last time; generally out of form over hurdles and fences; not proven trip; opposed Triple hurdle winner but she's 0-5 over fences and still has stamina to prove at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/4 +58%)Harrys Hope |
5/4(+58%) | (3) Harrys Hope 5/4, Probably needed race second beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Warwick latest; enjoyed productive autumn over fences on good ground; trainer in form; contender 3-5 over fences and still has scope for more progress; entered 7:40 Warwick on Wednesday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/2 -267%)Lady Jago |
11/2(-267%) | (2) Lady Jago 11/2, Landed a handicap by 2l off 114 over 2m4f at Ludlow last time; hugely progressive; step up in trip not ideal; top jockey back on board; threat but stamina concerns once more Made it 3-7 over fences when scoring at Ludlow; big player again back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (12/1 -167%)Lost Connections |
12/1(-167%) | (5) Lost Connections 12/1, Back to form beaten 1 1/4l off 98 over 2m5f at Hereford last time; not proven trip; significant jockey booking; may contend if stamina holds up but that is a worry Runner-up at Hereford in October and has claims if she can pick up where she left off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (7/1 -27%)Scarlet O'tara |
7/1(-27%) | (1) Scarlet O'tara 7/1, Down the field in 'National Hunt' Mares' Novice Handicap Hurdle (Grade 2) over 2m5f at Newbury most recent where trip too sharp; longer distance a plus on chase debut; big player Triple hurdle winner but she's been out of sorts last twice; bit to prove on chase debut. |

LADY JAGO accounted for her nearest rival by two lengths at Ludlow last month and she now takes a step back up in trip. The six-year-old is only 2lb higher and looks well placed to complete a double. Scarlet O'Tara has shown a good amount of ability over the smaller obstacles and is an interesting contender on her chasing debut. Of the remainder, Lost Connections makes the most appeal.

This can go to LADY JAGO, who made it 3-7 over fences when scoring at Ludlow and is open to more progress back up in trip.

15/8(+63%) | (3) Dreams Adozen 15/8, Ran to form beaten 3l off 74 over 2m at Chester last time; enjoys making it; down in trip; course winner with Jason Hart on board; threat Stays much further and may not want things to turn tactical dropping to this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/1 -38%)Spanish Hustle |
9/1(-38%) | (5) Spanish Hustle 9/1, Ran to form beaten 1 1/4l off 70 over 11f here last time; top course trainer; course winner; yards second string on jockey bookings; up in trip; in the mix Goes well here, stays 1m5f and ran well last time; high in the weights but can't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (11/1 -38%)Ebony Maw |
11/1(-38%) | (8) Ebony Maw 11/1, Ran to form beaten 2l off 62 over 2m1f at Carlisle last time; trainer in form; enjoys making it; down in trip; player Respectable efforts both runs this season and claims, despite dropping in distance. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (9/1 -13%)Tokyo Bay |
9/1(-13%) | (4) Tokyo Bay 9/1, Ran to form beaten 5l in a handicap over 12f at Ripon last time; generally out of form; cheekpieces first time; up in trip; improvement needed Maiden winner who gets headgear; hasn't progressed in handicaps and needs to raise game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (9/2 -29%)Sea Legend |
9/2(-29%) | (2) Sea Legend 9/2, Raced freely beaten 1 1/4l off 77 over 10f at Ayr last time; top course jockey/trainer combination; usually held up; not proven trip; could contend Isn't a regular winner but running well and worth another try over this sort of trip. |

SPANISH HUSTLE finished a respectable third over 1m3f here on his latest outing. The seven-year-old remains feasibly treated off his current mark and could record a fifth course success. Two Auld Pals hit the frame in this class over C&D last time and is likely to be on the premises once again, while Ebony Maw isn't out of it either.

This has an open look to it and can go to last year's winner TWO AULD PALS (nap), who is reunited with Oisin Orr and ran well last time

9th (8) (250/1 -150%)Rock N It |
250/1(-150%) | (8) Rock N It 250/1, Well beaten again second start and yet to show any real signs of ability; back in trip; seems poor Tailed off in both starts and latest was at Newbury (7f) last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (250/1 -150%)Estimaid |
250/1(-150%) | (10) Estimaid 250/1, Bit better effort, but well beaten again second start 8l 10th of 13 in a maiden over 7f at Kempton last time; back in trip; off a short-break; very moderate so far Finished in rear in two runs at Kempton (7f) and minor handicaps will be more like it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (8/1 +76%)Luminous Warrior |
8/1(+76%) | (5) Luminous Warrior 8/1, Showed little well beaten in a novice over 7f at Newmarket only start; trainer in form; back in trip; first run after a wind operation; open to improvement Tailed off in sole 2yo run and had wind/gelding operations since; best watched on return. |

First-time cheekpieces will need to work the oracle for Lazzar, who had no obvious excuse when beaten at prohibitive odds at Brighton on Monday. He will be a player should they do the trick, but it is KEYBAAR that gets the nod. The son of Earthlight shaped with considerable promise on his racecourse bow at Kempton in April and progress looks highly likely. Musical Angel and Dannick are two others to note.

The vote goes to KEYBAAR, who made a promising start with his third at Kempton in April and should improve for that experience.

1st (3) (9/2 +72%)Windsurfer |
9/2(+72%) | (3) Windsurfer 9/2, Probably needed race beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap hurdle at Worcester last time but ran well to a point; good ground suits; each way claims Course winner but hasn't been shaping like a winner waiting to happen in handicaps. |

2nd (4) (9/1 +0%)Gilbertina |
9/1(+0%) | (4) Gilbertina 9/1, Below par down the field in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham most recent; in good form prior; tongue-tie first time; squeak but unreliable Exposed hurdler but twice placed (2m4f/2m5f) before going in too deep in a Class 2. |

3rd (1) (13/8 +68%)Baltray |
13/8(+68%) | (1) Baltray 13/8, Fell in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Fontwell latest when looked huge threat; significant jockey booking; off a short-break; not fully exposed; good mark on maiden win; claims obvious Was going well when departing three out at Fontwell in April; couldn't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (7/4 +61%)Ghasham |
7/4(+61%) | (8) Ghasham 7/4, Ideally suited by trip well beaten in a handicap over 2m at Kempton latest; up in trip; top jockey back on board; could figure but may need some rain Competitive off this sort of mark during the winter and Sean Bowen is booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (28/1 -211%)Golden Identity |
28/1(-211%) | (6) Golden Identity 28/1, Probably needed race comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Chepstow last time; yet to build on promising debut; up in trip; bit to find Doesn't look on a strikingly good mark for today's handicap debut but he's up in distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (14/1 +22%)Clondaw Royale |
14/1(+22%) | (5) Clondaw Royale 14/1, Well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Warwick latest where found ground too quick; bit to find and conditions a concern once more Best form has been on slower ground; tailed off the last twice on good. |

Having returned to form with a good second over 2m at Bangor last month, LIPA K could be poised to strike. A 1lb rise in the ratings looks more than fair for the seven-year-old, and a return to 2m4f holds no fears. Ikigai Star is only 3lb higher than his recent triumph at Huntingdon and is feared most, ahead of Ghasham, who has champion jockey Sean Bowen in the plate.

This looks competitive but BALTRAY was moving with purpose when falling last time and he retains plenty of upside.

2nd (2) (7/1 -27%)Commanche Falls |
7/1(-27%) | (2) Commanche Falls 7/1, Below par beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap at York last time in behind Korker; eased 2lb; 1/1 over C&D; in the mix Powers perhaps on the wane but edging down the weights; can step up on recent efforts. |

7/2(+13%) | (1) Korker 7/2, Ran a big race beaten 2l off 103 in a hot handicap at York last time; jockey takes off a handy 7lb; should go close Talented sprinter; ran to high level at York last month; 6f on slow ground may stretch him. |

5/2(+50%) | (5) Vantheman 5/2, Below par beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap over 5f at York last time; up in trip; back on last winning mark; big chance if getting an easy lead Back to last winning mark and this less demanding than the two races he's run in this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (16/1 +20%)Count D'orsay |
16/1(+20%) | (7) Count D'orsay 16/1, Yard won this last year; probably needed race down the field in a handicap at Doncaster most recent; in good form towards the end of last year; more needed in this company Well held on return but ground will suit better today; out of weights but not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (13/2 -95%)Tropical Island |
13/2(-95%) | (3) Tropical Island 13/2, Well treated at weights when landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off 83 at Ripon last time; would need another career best following a 7lb rise; chance Won well at Ripon (6f, good) on her return but she's up 7lb against better opposition. |

TROPICAL ISLAND looked an improved filly when returning an impressive winner at Ripon on her reappearance. That victory was even more meritorious given she had to be switched for a clear run, and Richard Fahey's sprinter looks worth sticking with. Korker has yet to taste success over 6f, but his creditable third in a competitive handicap at York last time suggests another bold bid is likely, while Fahrenheit Seven could also prove competitive.

The recent rain will be to the advantage of ALEEZDANCER and he is well handicapped on his 2024 best.

1st (2) (6/5 +47%)Gallant |
6/5(+47%) | (2) Gallant 6/5, Never got a clear run when beaten 4 lengths off 84 over 7f at York. Wide draw here and stepping up to 1m for the first time, but could improve for a yard that does well at this track. Still unexposed and he had a nightmare with traffic issues at York latest; interesting. |

2nd (6) (12/1 +25%)Lazieelunch |
12/1(+25%) | (6) Lazieelunch 12/1, Only minor interference when beaten 3 lengths over 1m2f at Chelmsford last time. Has been running consistently well since returning from a winter break and drops back in trip. Triple AW winner but he's exposed now and needs to find more back at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (2/1 +67%)Transparent |
2/1(+67%) | (1) Transparent 2/1, Just a shade below his best when beaten 4 lengths in a Goodwood handicap last time. Had been in good form prior to that and remains competitive off 86 if settling better. Lightly raced 3yo and he's 2-3 on AW; not ruled out back in this sphere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (16/1 -146%)Invincible Duke |
16/1(-146%) | (7) Invincible Duke 16/1, Kept on well when the gap opened to finish 2½ lengths behind the winner off 76 at Goodwood. That was a promising effort and he may yet do better from this mark. Promising third on handicap debut at Goodwood and he's respected on this return to AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (8/1 -167%)Threatening |
8/1(-167%) | (8) Threatening 8/1, Progressive sort who landed a 7f Southwell handicap by 1¼ lengths off 65 two starts ago. Backed that up with a solid second off 71 last time in first-time cheekpieces. Looks to be improving. Went close under a penalty at Wolverhampton and he's open to more progress; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (11/1 +0%)Troy Story |
11/1(+0%) | (4) Troy Story 11/1, Beaten 6 lengths on seasonal return in a handicap at Ascot and may have just needed the outing. Had fair 2yo form but was possibly flattered by his nursery effort. 0-5 but he may have needed his reappearance run and that was a tough task; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (20/1 -43%)Hot Property |
20/1(-43%) | (3) Hot Property 20/1, Too keen and well held by 9 lengths at Beverley over 7f on second run back. That followed a likely needed return and he now makes his all-weather debut up in trip. Remains unexposed. No joy in his three handicaps and has something to prove on this switch to AW. |

LAZIEELUNCH looked to be coming back to form on his second start since being gelded when third over two furlongs further at Chelmsford and, with two wins at a mile, one over C&D, he ticks plenty of boxes. Transparent pulled too hard at Goodwood before weakening late on. If Tom Marquand can get him to settle then he could mount a serious challenge, leaving handicap debutant Padua and Wolverhampton second Threatening to battle it out for the remaining podium spot.

Several have possibilities but Sir Mark Prescott's THREATNENING gets the vote ahead of Gallant and Invincible Duke.

|PU| (2) (13/2 -442%)Salley Gardens |
13/2(-442%) | (2) Salley Gardens 13/2, Well treated at weights when landing a handicap by a length off 114 here last time; that form franked emphatically; can complete hat trick Signed off for Olly Murphy with two good-ground wins; recently sold for £21,000. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (22/1 -57%)Hell Red |
22/1(-57%) | (1) Hell Red 22/1, Second beaten 6l in a conditions race over 3m at Upcott Cross latest; returning from long layoff; enjoys making it; down in trip; needs to prove ability remains on rules return Capable hurdler/chaser for Paul Nicholls; has been holding his own in hunter chases. |

Salley Gardens finished his time with Olly Murphy by completing a double when scoring over C&D last month and warrants respect in his bid for a hat-trick. However, a further 5lb rise demands another career best from the son of Yeats, and it could be worth chancing chase-debutant GOLDEN AMBITION. Last month's spin over hurdles at Fontwell should have put the six-year-old spot-on and the reapplication of blinkers can only help. No But I Will is also noted.

Sean Bowen retains the partnership with SALLEY GARDENS despite him being sold out of Olly Murphy's yard. He's 3-5 over fences.

16/1(+0%) | (11) Detective 16/1, Beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap over 8f at Ayr last time; usually held up; up in trip; not the most consistent; risky Has won here and is another on a handy mark but he's held by Hale End on recent Ayr form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (33/1 -136%)Shine On Brendan |
33/1(-136%) | (10) Shine On Brendan 33/1, Below par beaten 6l in a handicap over 8f here last time; top course trainer; up in trip; bit to find in this company Multiple winner at this venue but below best this year and goes back up in grade. |

Shine On Brendan wasn't beaten far when third in last year's renewal and he can feature again, while Bubbles Wonky gave notice of a big run when runner-up over course and distance last month. However, INDALO has the most scope for improvement. A dual winner on the all-weather, he could have untapped potential and Roger Varian boasts an impressive strike-rate at this venue.

This could go to PISANELLO, who has an excuse for his last run at Ripon and he's better judged on his reappearance at the same venue

6th (5) (22/1 +0%)Parallax |
22/1(+0%) | (5) Parallax 22/1, Similar level of form both runs so far over 5f-7f; acts on sound surface; vulnerable to talented newcomer Ran green on debut at Dundalk, still looked raw when beaten 10l in fourth at Roscommon. |

MINERVA has an excellent pedigree and cost 1,500,000gns as a yearling. By Frankel, her Group 2-winning dam is a sister to Group 1 winner Mohaather and with a half-sister having scored at juvenile Group 3 level, she should be smart. Thenandnow's yard has been totally out of form, although has shown some recent encouragement and this filly has a very notable pedigree. By Dubawi, her dam won the Group 1 Marcel Boussac. Little Sure Shot is out of a Group 3 winner who has already produced three nice winners.

Ryan Moore's choice earns preference for the 1.5m gns Frankel filly MINERVA. She faces an interesting opponent in Thenandnow

10th (1) (33/1 -32%)Cill Mocheallog |
33/1(-32%) | (1) Cill Mocheallog 33/1, Missed the break and finished well beaten in a Kempton handicap last time. Has shown little in recent runs and may be best over further than this 7f. Won 7f maiden in Ireland last year; out of sorts on AW but down in weights and grade. |

MOUNT MOGAN boasts solid form at Lingfield, with four C&D wins and plenty of placed efforts. He may not be the force of old, but he has won twice this year and was a solid third here off his current mark in April. Tea Sea drops back in trip after weakening over an extended 1m at Wolverhampton and he's now just 1lb above his last winning mark. Ruth Carr sends Touchwood south from North Yorkshire, with the booking of Oisin Murphy eye-catching.

Mount Mogan looks solid to go well but TOUCHWOOD can improve for the return to this C&D and may be the answer.

16/1(0%) | (4) She's Got Bottle 16/1, Below par down the field in a novice hurdle at Catterick most recent; generally out of form; flat winner but yet to fire over hurdles; enjoys making it; not proven trip; plenty more needed Tailed off in her three qualifying runs but had a wind op and Flat exploits are respected. |

AUNTIE MAGGIE arrives in fine fettle after resuming winning ways at Stratford on Saturday. She makes a quick reappearance burdened with a 7lb penalty, but Alastair Ralph's charge can make light of that given the ease of her latest success. Milajess has plenty to find with the selection on her second at Fakenham in April, so Granny B may prove the bigger threat after finding only one too good over these hurdles last time.

The suggestion is MILAJESS (nap) who is 16lb better in with Auntie Maggie after chasing her home at Fakenham in April.

12th (6) (25/1 +24%)Dwindling Funds |
25/1(+24%) | (6) Dwindling Funds 25/1, Beaten 7l in a handicap over 7f at Ayr last time; usually consistent; top course jockey/trainer combination; not proven trip; bit to find Well beaten on three of four runs but interesting Mulrennan rides in preference to Inanna. |

Having posted creditable efforts in defeat at Ayr and Carlisle since scoring at Catterick in May, SIR GARFIELD could be ready to strike on this quick turnaround. The four-year-old is due to go up 3lb for his latest second and is the one to beat. Jump The Gun arrives in good heart and may serve the most resistance to the selection, although market support for stable-debutant Northfield Lake would be interesting.

It could be worth going with JUMP THE GUN, who has slipped to a good mark and shaped as though coming to hand last time

LOVE BILLY BOY has recent form and has obvious claims. The UK-import had run three solid races this year and having met trouble in-running behind an easy Naas winner in March, he scored at that venue last time. He competes from the same rating, which is 1lb below his best juvenile mark and will appreciate the forecast rain showers. Fort Vega has also been running well and would also like easy ground, so should also compete dropping back in distance. Dark Viper gained a first success in March and is also noted.

LOVE BILLY BOY may be able to find a bit more now upped in trip after his Naas win, which has been franked since by the runner-up

6th (3) (14/1 +0%)Invincible Speed |
14/1(+0%) | (3) Invincible Speed 14/1, Landed a 6f handicap here three starts back when sheltered from headwind off a career-low mark. Below form on fast ground since, but could bounce back on the all-weather. C&D win in April has been followed by one good and one bad run on turf; needs career-best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (14/1 +0%)Lady Wingalong |
14/1(+0%) | (7) Lady Wingalong 14/1, Beaten over 5 lengths at Wolverhampton on return from a break. Better prior to that and drops back in trip. May come on with a run under her belt. Flourished for this yard but up in class on the back of a rare modest effort last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (9/1 +0%)Batal Dubai |
9/1(+0%) | (4) Batal Dubai 9/1, Below form switched to turf last time at Newmarket. Trainer in form and return to AW likely to suit better. Good chance on this winter's best but needs to leave some quiet runs behind him. |

Veteran Count Otto is a standing dish here for local trainer Amanda Perrett, with a total of seven wins at the track, and he can go close off his current rating back on the Polytrack, while Bath second Maid In Chelsea is another for the shortlist in first-time cheekpieces. Both can get involved, but MESAAFI won a more valuable apprentice Handicap at Chelmsford on Sunday and gets in here without a penalty. He appeared to have a bit in hand that day and there is no obvious reason why he cannot follow up.

It is hard to get away from MESAAFI who won a competitive apprentice race at Chelmsford in fine style on Sunday.

ECLIPSER showed ability when staying on strongly to finish fourth at Windsor on her introduction. She left it late to find top gear and should be a lot wiser. Athena's Fortune debuted in a warm race at Newmarket last month and could fare better at this level in a first-time hood, while Due Destiny's half-sister won as a two-year-old and the daughter of Due Diligence is a newcomer to note.

There's plenty in her pedigree to suggest ECLIPSER can transfer her good debut to AW. She sets a clear standard for the rest to aim at.

SCINTILLANTE finally opened his account over hurdles when scoring in convincing fashion at Worcester recently. There could be more to come from the five-year-old now he's got his head in front, and a 4lb rise may not be enough to anchor him in this company. Russian Virtue is potentially well treated if bouncing back to form on his return to hurdling, while the unexposed Junior Des Bordes should be noted debuting for James Owen's in-form yard.

The choice is the well-handicapped CRYSTAL MER, who is taken to get off the mark after a break on his stable debut.

12th (14) (40/1 -43%)Propagation |
40/1(-43%) | (14) Propagation 40/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark down the field in a handicap over 9f at Musselburgh most recent; generally out of form; up in trip; bit to find Longstanding maiden who makes no particular appeal on his first run since August 2024. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (11/4 -10%)Arch Legend |
11/4(-10%) | (3) Arch Legend 11/4, Ran to form beaten 2 1/2l off 54 at Beverley last time; that an improved effort; 1m4f looks optimum trip; threat Two wins for Charlie Johnston; cost 14,000gns; good 2nd at Beverley last week; contender. |

The switch to more positive tactics saw Aighear recently finish second over 2m1f at Carlisle and she warrants respect off an unchanged mark. However, reverting to 1m4f may leave the daughter of Farhh vulnerable to a rival with more speed and ARCH LEGEND tops the bill. Ruth Carr's four-year-old arrives on the back of a runner-up effort at Beverley and a reproduction of that performance may prove sufficient. Crystal Guard is also noted.

This low-grade handicap can go to CRYSTAL GUARD, who has run creditably on his last two starts and has a decent record here.

9th (8) (10/1 -25%)Dawn Spirit |
10/1(-25%) | (8) Dawn Spirit 10/1, Ideally suited by trip when winning an auction race at Cork over 10f by 3 1/4l last time; step up in trip could suit; may contend Cork maiden win franked since and likely more to come upped to 1m4f. |

ACAPULCO BAY steps up to this distance for the first time, which should bring about improvement. He chased home the Derby fancy Delacroix on debut and while beaten twice already this year, he bumped into a high-class type in March and shaped as though he would improve for this extra distance here last month. Stablemate Rock Of Cashel finished ahead of him last time but is now blinkered and could struggle to confirm placings. What's Your Game is noted too.

An interesting renewal with a tentative vote to ZAHRANN, who impressed at Cork and should relish this trip

28/1(-27%) | (10) Rejjien 28/1, Comfortably held in a maiden at Brighton last time improving slightly on modest debut; top course jockey; big leap forward needed Not much to show for two runs; Rossa Ryan takes over but best watched on her AW debut. |

11th (8) (200/1 -100%)Miss Ruby |
200/1(-100%) | (8) Miss Ruby 200/1, Well beaten in a novice over 5f at Southwell only start; wide draw; up in trip; needs huge leap forward Stable is 0-63 with its juveniles and this one was beaten a long way on her debut (5f). |

NIFTY overcame a tardy start to finish third over the minimum trip at Salisbury on debut. Doing all her best work in the closing stages, Richard Hughes' filly is taken to launch a serious challenge over this extra furlong. Flying Macs is another likely to appreciate the extra yardage on the back of her debut effort at Wolverhampton, while Who Is Alice is related to a winning sprinter and is worth a second glance.

After a good debut third on turf (5f) NIFTY is selected to go in at the second time of asking on this first go on AW and step up to 6f.

7th (8) (7/1 +42%)Eastwatch |
7/1(+42%) | (8) Eastwatch 7/1, Well backed when winning a maiden at Gowran Park over 10f by 9l last time; that form had knocks; off a short-break; more needed up in grade Wide-margin winner of Gowran maiden in March, should not be out of place in this grade. |

GREEN IMPACT was a high-class juvenile last year and can progress following his mid-field finish in the 2000 Guineas. By that stallion Wootton Bassett, he defeated Derby fancy Delacroix to win a Group 2 last September and while his Newmarket run was slightly disappointing, his yard was having a poor spell at that time and has shown more encouraging signs recently. Currawood has a bit to find with the selection on maiden form last June but should give him a race. Bravais had 560 days off prior to his March return and, having won at Tipperary latest, he can compete.

Jessica Harrington's GREEN IMPACT, sixth in the 2,000 Guineas, is a notable runner in this grade and gets a confident vote

6th (4) (4/1 -20%)Smokey Malone |
4/1(-20%) | (4) Smokey Malone 4/1, Landed a handicap by a head off 51 over CD last time; trainer in form; consistent; big threat again off 2lb rise In good form and won over C&D last time; will likely give it his best shot again. |

Smokey Malone prevailed by a head in a similar contest here in April and another good effort looks likely. However, SULLIVAN BAY looks to have the stronger form on the evidence of his third in a higher grade over course and distance back in January. He's been eased in the weights subsequently and Jim Crowley's presence is another positive. Zooks is usually in the mix at this level and could also feature.

Most of these have something to recommend them but MISS APPLEJACK retains a bit of upside and this longer trip can eke out more.

12/1(-20%) | (5) Sure To Please 12/1, 28l third in a novice hurdle over 2m here most recent run; step up in trip a plus; looks one for low grade handicaps after this Has made low-key start to hurdling career this spring; moves up in trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (33/1 +34%)Jour D'orage |
33/1(+34%) | (2) Jour D'orage 33/1, Looked unenthusiastic well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Worcester latest; very green that day; returning from long layoff; not proven trip; all to do Well beaten on both hurdling starts for Simon Earle last year; now with new stable. |

Having faced some tall assignments over hurdles when under the tutelage of Joseph O'Brien in Ireland, REINA DEL MAR should find these calmer waters much more to her liking. A reproduction of her latest fifth in a 15-runner affair at Leopardstown could prove good enough on her stable debut for Tim Vaughan. The biggest threat may emerge from Do It Like A Dude, who offered something to work with on his third-placed Rules bow at Fontwell last month. Sure To Please looks best of the remaining trio.

Ex-Irish mare REINA DEL MAR is quite tricky to weigh up before this stable debut but she ought to be hard to beat in this modest race.

ITS ALL PEACHY has performed consistently well in three runs this year and should be competitive reverting to handicap company. She finished seventh on her only previous handicap run at Naas in April (Wizard Of Odds finished 11th) but that wasn't a bad effort as she was ridden from off the pace and that form is working out well. Sound Of Lightning disappointed in April but, either side of that run, she had shown good form and should go well on her handicap debut. Recent maiden winner Pierre Royal also debuts in handicaps but has top-weight.

Having settled better to win a Naas fillies' maiden recently, SOUND OF LIGHTNING (nap) can back that up here on handicap debut

13/2(+0%) | (4) Aqab 13/2, Below par comfortably held in a maiden over 8f here last time; below par only go on Polytrack; up in trip, should stay; fairly weighted for handicap debut, respected Displayed significant promise in all three qualifying races; up in trip for handicap debut. |

An open contest in which only a tentative vote can go to the Marco Botti-trained YUVRAAJ. A 5lb rise for a narrow victory at Kempton would appear harsh but he's open to further improvement, especially now stepped up to 1m2f. The addition of first-time cheekpieces could eke out more from Riyadh Gem, who should appreciate a return to the all-weather. Others to note include The Hrse Horse and Aqab.

Bottomweight THE HRSE HORSE did very well to go close on his recent handicap debut at Windsor and gets the nod here.

25/1(+24%) | (7) Pennant Legacy 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m6f here latest where needed run; not proven trip; all to do after wind op Pulled up on last month's chase/handicap debut; had recent wind op. |

Having justified favouritism at Newton Abbot in April, Puddlesinthepark warrants respect in his follow-up bid. However, a 9lb hike from the assessor demands more from the seven-year-old and he may be worth taking on with stablemate TO BE SURE. The son of Sulamani found only a subsequent winner too strong at Fakenham 45 days ago and an unchanged mark might prove lenient. Mistymal and Unspeakable are others of interest.

Preference is for UNSPEAKABLE, who backed up his Taunton win with a decent effort in a stronger race than this.

THE REAL SCREAMER was one of the easiest winners of the year when landing a weak optional claimer at Tipperary recently and might overcome his wide draw in stall 18. He was a rare odds-on winner of a Dundalk winter series handicap last December and while beaten in three turf runs earlier this year, his Tipperary effort was quite taking. Ground and trip versatile, Alpha Capture hasn't run since showing form at last year's Galway Festival but could be ready on reappearance. Zipster has shown useful recent form and can again compete.

Absent since last year's Galway festival, a chance is taken on the fitness of ALPHA CAPTURE but he remains nicely handicapped

Fourth in a warm Newmarket maiden on her debut, she could take a step forward now upped in distance.

The vote goes to DANZA PARIGINA who caught the eye when a staying-on fifth on her debut over 1m here a fortnight ago.

Gavin likely found his follow-up bid at Sedgefield 23 days ago coming too soon and he must enter calculations reverting to the scene of his latest victory. However, it could be worth taking a chance on handicap debutant LINDEN LANE, who posted his best effort to date when runner-up at Newton Abbot last month. An opening mark of 103 looks workable for the five-year-old and a breakthrough victory could be on the horizon. Irish raider Queenie St Clair is also noted.

It can pay to give another chance to GAVIN, who had an excuses last time and was a very convincing C&D winner two starts ago.

18th (10) (28/1 +15%)Chavajod |
28/1(+15%) | (10) Chavajod 28/1, Scored by a nose off 68 over 8f at Limerick penultimate start; seventh beaten 8 1/2l off 74 last time; down in trip; bit to find off stiff looking mark Longer trip seemed to find him out at Roscommon, previously a narrow winner over 1m. |

In-form EASTERN WIND often front runs so is greatly helped by having the inside draw. A six-time winner, she performed well when finishing fifth in a big-field handicap here in March and scored subsequently both at Bellewstown and over hurdles at Tipperary. She is suited by this distance and is also ground-versatile. Killeaney Bear also performed well over hurdles at Cork last month and having shown good Flat form just eight days later, he should again compete. Colin Keane picks Molto Amichi in favour of Pier Pressure, which is notable.

The extra furlong here should make all the difference for KILLEANEY BEAR, runner-up over 1m at Naas last month.

A confident vote goes to CLOCKMAKER, who made a triumphant return when defeating a subsequent winner at Doncaster last month. David Simcock's charge is only 2lb higher back on the all-weather and with improvement likely, he looks set to double his tally. That being said, Kingdom Of Stars is 2lb well-in having struck the woodwork at Kempton latest and he ought to go well, along with Dancingwithmyself.

The vote goes to DANCINGWITHMYSELF who shaped as though worth another go over a longer trip when beaten a neck at Kempton last month.

|PU| (1) (11/1 +45%)Colonial Empire |
11/1(+45%) | (1) Colonial Empire 11/1, Looked unenthusiastic comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Stratford last time; generally out of form; visor first time; up in trip; needs to prove ability remains On a good mark but the new trip and first-time visor need to spark a major revival. |

Getuptheyard has to make the shortlist after being caught close home to go under by a head at Uttoxeter, especially as he's due to go up 3lb in the near future. FERRET JEETER showed improved form with a tongue-tie to win by 10 lengths at Fontwell two starts ago and was a short-priced favourite when falling at the second hurdle at the same track last time. He could prove tough to beat with a clear round of jumping, while C&D second Jack's Jury and the long absent Talk Of The Moon are others to consider.

With improvement likely over this longer trip, the lightly raced FERRET JEETER could well add to last month's handicap debut win.

10/1(+50%) | (4) Sheamus Seimhiu 10/1, Slowly away beaten 6l in a maiden over 7f at The Curragh last time; usually consistent; up in trip; in the mix on handicap debut Three-figure odds in all three maiden starts, some merit in runs at Cork and the Curragh. |

GREAT MOVER has a poor draw in stall 19 to overcome but will be suited by stepping back up in distance. Twice placed over a mile as a juvenile, she finished well when meeting some late interference over seven furlongs at Fairyhouse last week and looks well capable of scoring off her current rating. Wertpol had both Amplitude (fourth) and Faoladh (sixth) behind him when showing improved form at Ballinrobe recently and should also get involved. Moonhall Lass wasn't beaten far at Roscommon latest.

In a wide-open contest, TAM LIN may benefit sufficiently from a low draw to add to a Bellewstown win gained over this trip in April

STELLA HOGAN is the obvious option as one of only two C&D winners in the field, and she won last time out at Kempton. With Mason Paetel able to claim 7lb, a fifth career success could be on the cards. Moostar is upped in trip and is of some interest, but Wolverhampton second Ornately looks the bigger danger off just 1lb higher.

Preference is for STELLA HOGAN who is 2lb well in having avoided a penalty for last week's Kempton success.

6/1(+33%) | (6) Imperial Measure 6/1, Looked to want further comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time; fair mark on hurdle form but may find this on the sharp side 1-13 but reliable over hurdles; fair chase debut after layoff and worth considering.. |

YOU SAY NOTHING ended last season with wins over this trip at Lingfield and Leicester and, boasting a C&D victory off 13lb higher in May 2023, he is fancied to make all to come home in front again. Pittsburg was beaten a length and a half off his current rating at Market Rasen in April and is entitled to get into the mix, while Lady Gwen may improve for her comeback third at Stratford.

The vote goes to YOU SAY NOTHING who bids for a hat-trick and remains well treated. Pittsburgh looks the main danger.

3rd (6) (150/1 -200%)Stylish Affair |
150/1(-200%) | (6) Stylish Affair 150/1, Appeared not to stay down the field in a maiden over 9f at Wolverhampton most recent; out of form since promising debut; not proven trip; lot to prove on handicap debut Started career with promising 6f run; well adrift since; this level makes more sense. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (50/1 -25%)Sharp Call |
50/1(-25%) | (3) Sharp Call 50/1, Beaten 9l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; generally out of form; first time on Polytrack; 7f fine; lost way, lot to prove Minor form so far and she finished nearly 9l behind Adelaide Bay on handicap debut (7f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (9/1 +10%)Al Baarez |
9/1(+10%) | (7) Al Baarez 9/1, Well beaten in a maiden over 6f at Kempton latest; consistent; blinkers first time; up in trip a big plus; on potentially lenient opening mark, decent each way claims All 3 starts at 6f; minor promise; bred to appreciate 7f; more realistic chance today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (16/1 -88%)Dr Ali |
16/1(-88%) | (2) Dr Ali 16/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 3l off 61 over 6f at Kempton last time; up in trip; wide draw a slight concern; return to 7f suits; signs of finding level, in the mix 0-10; has been running well at 6f/7f on AW for new yard but continues vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (10/1 -11%)Arlecchino's Rex |
10/1(-11%) | (5) Arlecchino's Rex 10/1, Appeared not to stay beaten 4l off 59 over 8f at Windsor last time; tongue-tie first time; down in trip a plus; needs step forward on recent efforts but chance on pick of 2025 form Winning handicap debut (7f, AW) but it's not been easy in this grade of late; tongue tied. |

Adelaide Bay has won two of his three starts this season including an easy C&D victory in April, and he can go close despite an added 3lb from the handicapper. CITY CAPTAIN won despite being left with plenty to do on his first start of the season at Pontefract and, if he takes another step forward, a 2lb rise looks unlikely to stop him. Kodi Banphrionsa could do better on her handicap debut.

Adelaide Bay is respected but CITY CAPTAIN (nap) kept a lowly mark somewhat under wraps with a narrow win for his new yard last time

14/1(-56%) | (6) Balkardy 14/1, Ran to form beaten 7l in a handicap chase over 3m here last time; down in trip; good mark on chase form; bit to find on recent hurdles form Mostly below best since October chase win; may be vulnerable at 2m4f back hurdling. |

2nd (2) (5/6 +56%)Twist Of Fatecatch |
5/6(+56%) | (2) Twist Of Fatecatch 5/6, Beaten 3 1/4l off 113 at Worcester last time; easy maiden winner previously; opening mark lenient; strong claims Won well at Fontwell; handicap debut form boosted since and a key player off same mark.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (6/1 +14%)New Found Fame |
6/1(+14%) | (5) New Found Fame 6/1, Raced freely well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Chepstow latest; significant jockey booking; form in and out; risky Two wins at Bangor in December and February (2m3f and 2m) but proving inconsistent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/2 -50%)Mohawk Chief |
9/2(-50%) | (3) Mohawk Chief 9/2, Ran to form 1/2l third in a maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Market Rasen most recent run; trainer in form; off a short-break; consistent; could figure with promise of more to come judged on flat form Back to best hurdle form when close 3rd at Market Rasen; fair mark on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/2 -13%)D'jo Dela Barriere |
9/2(-13%) | (4) D'jo Dela Barriere 9/2, Bit in hand scored by 3 1/2l off 104 over 2m5f at Plumpton penultimate start; third beaten 4 1/4l off 104 last time where hung under pressure; down in trip; potential threat Back in form with Plumpton win and fair third here after; more likely needed though.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (40/1 -186%)Land Afar |
40/1(-186%) | (1) Land Afar 40/1, Something amiss comfortably held in a selling hurdle over 2m3f at Exeter last time; off a short-break; looking flattered by novice form; risky Won Ludlow claimer last year before form dipped; change of yard needs to spark a revival.. |

Land Afar has his first start for Daniel Bourne here and, if he can be brought back to the level of his Huntingdon second in January, a mark of 117 gives him every chance. Mohawk Chief remains a maiden over hurdles, but he was only beaten half a length at Market Rasen last time and is interesting on his handicap debut. However, TWIST OF FATECATCH gets the vote. He stayed on well for third on his handicap bow at Worcester and any improvement could see him land the spoils in what looks a slightly easier race.

Mohawk Chief has more to come but TWIST OF FATECATCH (nap) ran well on his handicap debut and looks the one to beat.
Ths is the racecard key.
