1st (8) Regional (5/1 -11%)
Regional

5/1(-11%)
(8) Regional 5/1, Lightly raced for a 5-y-o and while he didn't taste success last year, he shaped well on occasions, notably when third in the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood in July. Enhanced excellent record fresh when landing a handicap at York 3 weeks ago and well worth a go at this level.
2
2nd (3) Equilateral (3/1 +14%)
Equilateral

3/1(+14%)
(3) Equilateral 3/1, Has done his winning in Meydan in recent years and ran well on a rare start over 6f in March. Excellent second in Group 2 Temple Stakes over C&D a fortnight ago and this is just about the best form on offer dipped into listed class.
3
3rd (7) Raasel (6/1 -9%)
Raasel

6/1(-9%)
(7) Raasel 6/1, Continued his remarkable rise up the sprinting ranks last year with victory in a Sandown Group 3 prior to a close second in the King George. Fair return back on these shores in the Palace House and easy enough to excuse Temple Stakes run on account of track position.
4
4th (10) Makarova (25/1 -14%)
Makarova

25/1(-14%)
(10) Makarova 25/1, Landed back-to-back Salisbury handicaps (at 6f) last spring and she acquitted herself well after, including when fifth in listed race at Newmarket on reappearance. Failed to build on that a fortnight ago and this tough out of her own sex.
5th
5th (2) Clarendon House (6.5/1 +28%)
Clarendon House

6.5/1(+28%)
(2) Clarendon House 6.5/1, Progressive 4-time winner as a 3-y-o who was highly tried on the back of success in small field conditions' event at Beverley (5f) last summer. Stepped up on reappearance when third in the "Dash" a week ago though that isn't form to get too carried away with.
6th
6th (5) Korker (8/1 +0%)
Korker

8/1(+0%)
(5) Korker 8/1, Prone to slow starts but a classy sprinter when it all clicks and stepped up on his reappearance when second in 13-runner handicap at York last month. Easy to excuse effort back there a fortnight ago given he badly hampered and he's run well both starts over this C&D.
7th
7th (4) Fine Wine (20/1 -25%)
Fine Wine

20/1(-25%)
(4) Fine Wine 20/1, Came back thriving from a break when landing a brace of AW events at the end of 2022, namely a handicap and conditions event. Ran right up to form when third returned to turf at York a fortnight ago and he'll give it a good from the front.
8th
8th (6) Mondammej (16/1 +0%)
Mondammej

16/1(+0%)
(6) Mondammej 16/1, Prolific handicapper in 2021 but unable to add to tally since, often compromising his chance out of the stalls. Best effort of the season when second of 14 in handicap company at York a fortnight ago but needs to build on it at this level.
9th
9th (9) Prince Of Pillo (3.6/1 +40%)
Prince Of Pillo

3.6/1(+40%)
(9) Prince Of Pillo 3.6/1, Winner of first 2 starts and encountered traffic problems in the early part of the race when fourth in the Flying Childers. Back on track in a major way when impressively landing a listed race at Ayr before finishing third in a Group 3 final 2-y-o start. Retains potential as a 3-y-o.
10th
10th (1) Arecibo (28/1 -12%)
Arecibo

28/1(-12%)
(1) Arecibo 28/1, Losing run dates back over 2 years and a couple of runner-up efforts in handicaps aside, he's been disappointing this season. Others more persuasive.
LTO Selection:

13:15 Haydock Listed (Class 1) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

A three-year-old has not won this race since 2012, but it seems likely that Prince Of Pillo will go well after winning a Listed contest at Ayr in September before coming home third in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket. With Ryan Moore on board, he is hard to ignore but the experience of EQUILATERAL may give him the edge. A seven-time winner, who looked back to his best when second in the Temple Stakes last month, and this may be his to lose. Regional, Clarendon House and Korker are others to mull over in a fascinating renewal.

Having established himself in better company than this last year, it hasn't been plain sailing for RAASEL of late. That said, there were clear excuses in the Temple Stakes here a fortnight ago so he's worth chancing at this level. Equilateral was second in that aforementioned race over C&D and he has to be feared, with Regional well worth his place in this company.

Slow starts can be an issue for KORKER but it was not his fault last time and he's run really well on both previous visits to Haydock.

(6) Abbadia 3.33/1, Backward step when sixth of 16 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, good) 22 days ago. Expected to be bang there with this an easier assignment back in restricted maiden company.

(2) Rogue Soldier 6/1, Twice-raced gelding. Fourth of 10 in maiden (7/1) at Southwell (6.1f) 30 days ago, slowly away. Back up in trip.
This step back up in trip should suit on turf debut; could go well.

Onemorenomore

40/1(-150%)
(3) Onemorenomore 40/1, 40/1, fifth of 9 in minor event at Nottingham (8.3f, good to firm) 6 days ago, not knocked about and finishing with running left having been denied a run. More to come.

Leap Day

1.38/1(+61%)
(5) Leap Day 1.38/1, Lightly-raced gelding. 6/1, creditable second of 7 in maiden at this C&D (good to firm) 10 days ago. That was a return to form and he can remain a factor at this sort of level.
Went down by only a whisker in C&D maiden ten days ago; strong contender.

(1) Letaba 16/1, Thrice-raced gelding. Third of 9 in novice event at Nottingham (8.3f, good to firm, 40/1) 6 days ago. That was much more like it but drop in trip isn't bound so suit.

(7) Bush Rose 25/1, Failed to match market expectations both starts 9 months apart, fourth of 5 in maiden (10/3) at Brighton (8f, good to firm) 11 days ago. In good hands and may yet come good.

Secret Joy

80/1(+20%)
(4) Secret Joy 80/1, Ninth of 11 in minor event (80/1) at Pontefract (6f, good to soft), slowly away. Off 7 months. Up in trip.
Lacks recent match practice and has the worst chance on form.
LTO Selection:

13:30 Beverley Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bush Rose looks interesting after missing the start at Brighton before pulling too hard throughout to come home in fourth and if she settles better today, she could get into the mix where it matters. From Beyond returns to action following wind surgery and might get involved under Oisin Murphy, but LEAP DAY looks to be the one. A nose second over C&D last month, that was a massive improvement and a repeat performance could be enough to see her come home in front.

ABBADIA was disappointing at Newmarket 3 weeks ago but this rates a drop in class back in a restricted maiden so she can bounce back. Leap Day seems sure to give it another good shot, with From Beyond one to monitor in the market on reappearance.

Having gone very close to winning over C&D ten days ago, LEAP DAY holds particularly strong claims. Abbadia is second choice.

0.73/1(+9%)
(3) Pottlerath 0.73/1, Successful 3 times over hurdles during 2022 and has progressed with each run over fences, following up his Worcester win at Warwick 17 days ago, Hat-trick looks on the cards.
On a hat-trick after two wins last month and only 3lb higher than for the second.
2
2nd (1) Dragon Rock (4/1 -14%)
Dragon Rock

4/1(-14%)
(1) Dragon Rock 4/1, Placed in points and made successful Rules debut in 15-runner maiden at Tramore last summer. Unable to build on that twice since, including for current yard at Wexcord 10 days ago but now switches to fences and handicaps.
Chasing/handicap debut and an intriguing candidate.
3
3rd (2) Inishbiggle (2.25/1 +18%)
Inishbiggle

2.25/1(+18%)
(2) Inishbiggle 2.25/1, Emphatic winner of 19.3f Catterick handicap hurdle in February 2022. Failed to complete both starts since over fences, though he was about to show more when falling 2 out over C&D 3 weeks ago. This will reveal more.
Ran well until falling over C&D three weeks ago and can be considered.
LTO Selection:

13:40 Bangor Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

POTTLERATH arrives having notched up back-to-back victories at Worcester and Warwick last month. His rivals have a bit to prove at present, none more so than Inishbiggle, who is yet to complete from his two starts over fences, so Matt Shepherd's gelding looks worth siding with once again from a 3lb raised mark. Twice-placed in points, Dragon Rock ought to possess the ability required to have a say on his fencing bow.

POTTLERATH takes on a couple of unknown quantities to some extent in chase-newcomer Dragon Rock and lightly-raced 8-y-o Inishbiggle but he was always holding on when supplementing his Worcester win at Warwick. He's therefore very much the percentage call in his hat-trick bid.

The safest option looks to be the in-form POTTLERATH.

Expensive to follow since an impressive AW win in January; down in trip; in the mix.
LTO Selection:

13:50 Haydock Handicap (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Nomadic Empire is worth a second glance because David O'Meara has a good record in this race and he is dropping in grade. A place looks possible, but if RAATEA takes to first-time cheekpieces, he could shock them all with the faster ground in his favour and following a fifth in a better race at Newmarket last month off 1lb higher. Mr Wagyu is another for the shortlist after his Epsom third last weekend, assuming this doesn't come too soon for him.

ALL THE KING'S MEN is thriving under the expert tuteleage of George Boughey and can build on his eye-catching Epsom third to gain a second success for the yard. C&D winner Mr Wagyu looked back to his best when third in the Dash at Epsom and rates a big threat though, while last year's victor Silver Samurai is also weighted to have a say. Lucky Man and Lethal Nymph complete the shortlist.

While the bias towards high numbers may not be as prominent as a fortnight ago, things still point to a big run from MR WAGYU (nap).

LTO Selection:

13:55 Punchestown Maiden Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SOMETHING ABOUTHER is a seven-year-old who tackles this distance for the first time but has recent form and is suited by good ground. A 2021 bumper winner, she missed 450 days before returning this year and bumped into capable winners on recent runs. She contests a winnable race and could be suited by going up in trip. February point-to-point winner Annalecka was a 14/1 winner of a recent pointing bumper and while proven at this distance, probably faces a tougher task against today's selection. Ginnets Girl had some useful form last summer and while pulled up when last seen, makes her seasonal reappearance with today's rider claiming 7lb.

Successful in bumpers, SOMETHING ABOUTHER again displayed fair form when runner-up over hurdles at Tipperary last month, and with this longer trip expected to unlock some improvement, she gets the nod to come out on top. Annalecka impressed when making a winning bumper debut latest and is also of interest now switched to timber. The returning Ginnets Girl is also worth a second look.

An ordinary enough mares' maiden hurdle which can go the way of hurdling debutante ANNALECKA, winner of a recent pointers' bumper

14:05 Beverley Stakes (Class 2) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Tallulabelle represents last year's winning trainer and warrants plenty of respect after being beaten half a length on her debut, but she will need to take a step forward to be successful here. Ziggy's Phoenix is a decent filly with wins at Ripon and Chester, as well as a Listed fourth at Chantilly, to her name, but she could prefer a softer surface, meaning NEVER FEAR is preferred. Easy to back on her Wolverhampton debut, she made most of the running to come home alone and with improvement likely, she might be able to repeat those tactics here.

MIDNIGHT AFFAIR almost certainly would've finished closer to the winner granted a clear passage when second on debut at Newmarket and, with the likelihood of better to come from this well-bred filly, she looks the way to go. Ziggy's Phoenix wasn't disgraced when bidding for the hat-trick in a French listed race recently and is next on the list ahead of likely improvers Never Fear and Flora of Bermuda.

The one to beat is MIDNIGHT AFFAIR, who would have run a very promising filly close at Newmarket with a clear passage.

14:10 Catterick Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Ludden Lass sets the standard with an official rating of 72 and she showed a bit more on her first start after wind surgery at Newmarket 23 days ago. The Dandy Man filly could take another step forward on this occasion, but a chance is taken on DANCE ANGEL. David O'Meara's charge ran well in defeat on her first two career starts (both on the all-weather), and can be forgiven a below-par Beverley performance. Scramble completes the shortlist.

AZAHARA PALACE displayed enough at Windsor 3 weeks ago to think she can win a small maiden against her own sex and this looks to be a nice opportunity for her with progress assured. Ludden lass and particularly Scramble are more exposed but need considering.

Ludden Lass can go well in these calmer waters but AZAHARA PALACE can leave her encouraging debut run well behind her.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Donald McCain accounts for a third of the field, of which Trick Of The Tail, who Brian Hughes would seem to prefer, might be his leading hope. On Cloud Nine finished third, albeit well beaten, on her first start following wind surgery, though she could take another step forward today. Preference, however, is for MASTER PLAYER. He has shown a fair level of ability in Irish bumpers and it would come as no surprise were he to improve over timber.

CHURCHMAN showed more than in a couple of bumpers switched to hurdling when seventh at Ludlow last month and may not need to improve much to land a much weaker contest here. Master Player displayed a fair level in bumpers so must enter the reckoning, while it remains early days for Trick of The Tail.

Although only seventh at Ludlow in April, CHURCHMAN achieved enough to be the selection in this modest event.

14:25 Haydock Handicap (Class 2) 12f Race Class Flow

The fact that Godolphin continue with Live Your Dream, despite 20 months off, suggests that they feel he still has wins in him and the six-year-old might go well under Louis Steward, though a win on his return looks a big ask. Cumulonimbus was all out to hold on at Newmarket last month and could go well, but he may set the race up for the Hamilton winner GOOD SHOW. The son of Nathaniel was produced perfectly by P J McDonald that day and gets the vote off just 3lb higher here.

LIVE YOUR DREAM has a long absence to overcome, but his yard's runners rarely lack for fitness and he'll surely go close if reproducing the pick of his 2021 form. Forza Orta ran well in a competitive event at York on his most recent outing and should be competitive once more, while Get Shirty is well worth a second look now returning to handicap company having faced stiff tasks the last twice.

The drop back into a handicap could be the catalyst for a return to form from GET SHIRTY and he is taken to defy top weight.

14:30 Punchestown Handicap Chase 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

GET MY DRIFT retuned from a mini-break to win last month and reverts to a handicap chase. Rated 134 over hurdles last year, he beat a useful mare to win at Kilbeggan and had previously run well in a Grade B chase on handicap debut, over a similar distance, in February. Vado Forte was seven lengths behind the selection in that Leopardstown race and while now 6lb better off, was well held at Aintree in April and returns following a mini-break. Kildorrery is an able type at this level and is well suited by two-miles but doesn't appear ahead of the handicapper. The Greek was well beaten in a much stronger race at the Punchestown festival but has some claims on best form while Filon D'oudairies might improve from a recent reappearance run over hurdles.

THE DARA MAN is on a good mark on the pick of last season's form so could be worth chancing having had excuses on his recent return. Get My Drift pulled clear with the runner-up when off the mark over fences at Kilbeggan and is a big threat, while the reliable Kildorrery should be in the mix again.

Although officially 2lb wrong here it may pay to take a chance on CLEVER CURRENCY, back in trip after a promising run at Kilbeggan

14:40 Beverley Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

UGO GREGORY sits on joint-bottom weight in this handicap despite being a triple C&D winner. Admittedly, his last win was in October 2021, but he showed signs of a return to form when a nose second here last month, and has scored off much higher marks in the past. Satin Snake had an off day at Kempton on his latest start but is more than capable of going close here if at his best, although Yarmouth second United Front might be the bigger danger, with the Michael Appleby stable coming back into top form.

UGO GREGORY's losing run is mounting up but he went agonisingly close to bucking that trend when reeled in late over C&D 10 days ago, and a repeat should see him firmly in the mix again from a good draw. United Front is yet to get his head in front on turf but comes here on the back of a good second at Yarmouth and is feared. Miss Britain is also worth a look.

Tim Easterby's UGO GREGORY only narrowly failed to secure a fourth C&D success last time and he's a solid option.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

FRED BEAR powered clear of his rivals at Salisbury last time out and he appeals as the one to beat once more from a 4lb raised mark. Recent Wolverhampton scorer Victoriano merits respect back on the turf, while Hellenista, who is 3lb lower than when successful at Redcar last June, should also mount a stern challenge. Lord Torranaga is also noted.

HELLENISTA is on a good mark and suggested she's ready to strike again soon when runner-up at Carlisle last week, so she receives the vote. Fred Bear and Victoriano are a pair of credible rivals, though.

Tim Easterby's mare HELLENISTA scored twice last June and signalled she's ready to go in again when a good second at Carlisle last week

14:50 Bangor Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DO NO WRONG lived up to his namesake when readily accounting for nine rivals at Cartmel a fortnight ago and Justin Landy's unexposed chaser is fancied to repeat the dose from a 4lb higher mark. Junior Massini has taken well to fences and he should mount another stern challenge in a bid to follow up on his recent Warwick success, while Everyday Champagne, second on each of his last three starts, heads the remainder.

HEART OF A LION shaped as if still in good form when falling 5 out over C&D 3 weeks ago so is well worth another chance given how he'd shaped at Fontwell the time before. Do No Wrong left his chase debut well behind when scoring with a bit in hand at Cartmel so is feared most.

A competitive contest can go to DO NO WRONG, after his Cartmel success.

LTO Selection:

15:00 Haydock Group 3 (Class 1) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Mimikyu and TIME LOCK meet again after battling it out in a novice race at this venue last year, where the former just held on to land the spoils. The latter gave a good account on seasonal reappearance at Goodwood, finding only one rival too strong, and the daughter of Frankel can reverse the form. The John & Thady Gosden-trained filly demands the utmost respect, though, while Modaara remains unexposed and completes the shortlist after brushing aside her rivals at Kempton last month.

Although a beaten favourite on return, TIME LOCK produced a perfectly satisfactory effort when pulling clear with one at the top of her game at Goodwood last month and, with that outing sure to have blown away any cobwebs, Harry & Roger Charlton's filly is fancied to kick on with Ryan Moore in the plate for the first time. Modaara couldn't have been any more impressive on her recent return at Kempton, so she could give the selection most to think about, with Mimikyu taken to fill third spot.

The well-bred MODAARA takes a leap in grade but was extremely impressive in a Kempton novice last month and earns the vote.

LTO Selection:

15:05 Punchestown Handicap Chase 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

OCEAN LEGACY has recently found form and is ideally suited by staying distances and good ground. Her form had been largely disappointing prior to this year but is just a six-year-old who can continue to progress a little further and can cope with an 8lb hike for a recent win. The Eye Of Tulla has also recently hit form on good ground and while he won well at Limerick, his best form is over shorter distances. Alpha Male, a 12 year old, won a similar handicap here in May 2022 and while well held over hurdles recently, that was over an inadequate distance and will be much better suited by today's conditions. Stablemate and banks specialist Subset is interesting rated just 81 but his previous handicaps form was poor.

The race revolves around SUBSET, who has never displayed a great deal over regulation fences but he's been in excellent form in cross-country events here this spring and his basement mark could be very lenient. Were he to fluff his lines, Ocean Legacy and The Eye of Tulla are probably best placed to take advantage.

With stamina proven, OCEAN LEGACY gets the vote over The Eye Of Tulla, although banks winner Subset could prove a real danger

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

BOMBAY BAZAAR showed marked improvement from his first run when he emerged as an easy winner over C&D 25 days ago and, with that valuable experience of this stiff finish under his belt, he could be hard to beat if he copes with the forecast faster surface. Cuban Slide, who beat a lesser-fancied stablemate by nine lengths when he was introduced at Musselburgh last month, is feared most, although Fusterlandia ran above market expectations on debut and also warrants consideration.

This one who appeals most is FUSTERLANDIA, who was just touched off by an experienced rival on debut at Leicester, in turn pulling clear of the rest. Bombay Bazaar built on the promise he showed on his introduction when scoring in good style over this C&D and is feared most ahead of promising debut winners Cuban Slide and Room Service.

Headed near the finish after looking all over the winner on his debut, FUSTERLANDIA can go one better over today's shorter trip.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

In a competitive heat, it might be worth taking a chance on LANGHOLM. Michael Dods' charge landed this prize from a 2lb lower mark 12 months ago and he's drawn well in a bid to repeat the dose. Surprise Picture was able to exploit a drop in the handicap when winning at Wolverhampton last month, but he remains well treated back on the grass and must enter calculations, along with Mutanaaseq. Others to note include Clotherholme and Stripzee.

FIFTYSHADESOFRED was picked off only late on in a well-run race at Ayr last time and looks ready to strike. Last-time-out winners Surprise Picture and Mutanaaseq head the dangers.

Michael Dods's likeable LANGHOLM goes really well round here and from his inside draw can repeat his all-the-way win of 12 months ago.

LTO Selection:

15:25 Bangor Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HIDALGO DE L'ISLE scored over course and distance three weeks ago and the six-year-old remains the one to beat, despite a 5lb rise in the ratings. Glorious Zoff also returned to winning ways on his most recent start and he could prove to be the main threat to the selection off just 2lb higher. A case can be made for all of the remainder but Lakefield Flyer is the pick of them.

None of these can be ruled out but GLORIOUS ZOFF looked right back on track after a wind op when scoring at Warwick and can make light of a 2 lb rise in the weights at the chief expense of dual C&D scorer Hidalgo de L'Isle. Bombyx features on a handy mark and is another who can have a say if building on his recent Ludlow fifth.

After a promising effort at Ludlow last month, BOMBYX is taken to beat several recent winners.

15:35 Haydock Group 3 (Class 1) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Jumby failed to land a blow in the Group 1 Lockinge but demands plenty of consideration in these calmer waters. Preference, however, goes to BOARDMAN, who ran on well to put three lengths between himself and second place at Chester last month. The seven-year-old may still be progressing and gets the nod to build on that career-best effort. The Australian raider, The Astrologist, failed to fire at York last time out but could bounce back stepping up in trip.

JUMBY is a likeable type who shaped as if still in form when down the field in the Lockinge at Newbury last time. Back down in trip, he's worth chancing, with The Astrologist regarded as the main danger. Boardman has a bit to find on form but he arrives in good heart and has won here before.

Dropped back further in grade, smart Australian gelding THE ASTROLOGIST gets the vote. El Caballo is second choice.

LTO Selection:

15:40 Punchestown Maiden Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

DANADA disappointed on a recent run but is better judged by a promising debut run. He shaped with promise on his Clonmel debut, with the runner-up, fifth and sixth-placed horses subsequently winning, and while he needs to show that form, his Downpatrick run was his first run for 108 days and this is a weak maiden. April point-to-point winner Nevermindestranger was in strong contention for a Downpatrick hunters chase when exiting at the second-last and while probably better suited to staying chases, seems suited by good ground and is interesting at this level. Steel Cable was reported to have burst blood vessels when pulling up at 33/1 at Navan last November. He has moved yards and it is positive that connections have persevered, but the eight-year-old needs to show vast improvement. Summer Gale has bits of flat form but was off-the-bridle for much of his seasonal reappearance and jumps debut at Kilbeggan. Blue In The West steps up from a recent confined maiden point-to-point win.

SUMMER GALE failed to replicate the level of form he'd shown in bumpers/on the Flat sent hurdling at Kilbeggan last week but is well worth another chance in a weak race. Danada can have a big say if bouncing back to his hurdling debut form, while Nevermindestranger is another to consider having shown up well in a hunter chase at Downpatrick recently.

A weak maiden for the venue. DANADA failed to back up an eyecatching Clonmel debut run but should appreciate this drop in trip

Charlie Johnston has a couple of solid options and, while Edge Of Darkness is respected now reunited with Andrew Mullen after their victory together off 2lb lower at Thirsk last month, his class-dropping stablemate COOL PARTY shades preference as the one to be with today. He's faced a couple of much stiffer tests than this already this season and, with the step up in trip likely to suit, this presents a good opportunity for him to return to winning ways. Imaginary World and Orchestra are also feared.

ORCHESTRA has improved again this spring, confirming the promise of his previous run when landing a 12-runner handicap here (10f) 25 days ago. This longer trip promises to hold no fears and he's fancied to make another bold bid here. Burglar's Dream and Cool Party may also feature.

Dual 2yo winner COOL PARTY faces by far and away his easiest test yet in handicap company and he could be up to the job.

Paul Midgley has done well with his sprinters lately and has another leading candidate in the shape of DARK CRUSADE, who showed some promise in four starts last season and resumes racing off a workable mark. He seems versatile regarding ground preference and, having already garnered C&D experiences, this son of Camacho has a lot going for him at this level. Jack Of Clubs is feared most in first-time cheekpieces, with Let's Go Hugo completing the shortlist.

LET'S GO HUGO returned to form back on turf when runner-up at Redcar 19 days ago and is the percentage call to go one better from the same mark. Dark Crusade makes his seasonal return with his yard amongst the winners and is feared most.

Recent form is sparse but LET'S GO HUGO is a C&D winner who ran well last time so he looks the safest option.

HEARTBREAK KID bounced back to form with an impressive victory over this track and trip last month and he may well be able to defy a 5lb rise in the ratings here. Norley was a well-held third on that occasion but he had been progressive prior to that defeat and should not be underestimated. Yggdrasil may benefit from the application of first-time blinkers and is another to consider.

HEARTBREAK KID cashed in on a much-reduced mark to score over C&D 3 weeks ago and, despite a 5 lb rise, Donald McCain's 8-y-o remains well treated on old form. He can follow up at the expense of Midnight Jewel, who ran creditably on his return over hurdles at Southwell recently and should be much closer to his best with that under his belt. Joly Maker and Norley can fight out third spot.

With the benefit of his outing over hurdles, MIDNIGHT JEWEL (nap) can resume his upward path.

Given she was pitched in a Group 3 on only her second start as a juvenile, Royal Charter is of high interest on her return to action and must be considered. However, OUT OF SHADOWS, who won over this trip on the all-weather on his penultimate start, could be worth chancing now he drops back in distance. He sets a reasonable standard at this stage and carrying top weight might not be insurmountable in this company. In These Shoes and Bussento are also worth a second look.

Competitive fare with the vote in favour of CHARTWELL HOUSE. He was quickly back on track returned to a sounder surface when fourth in a deeper handicap at Newmarket 3 weeks ago and a repeat should see him firmly in the mix again from the same mark. Bussento shapes like this drop in trip will suit and he has a bigger effort in his locker. In These Shoes and low-mileage Royal Charter complete the shortlist.

Back on forecast faster ground, it's worth giving another chance to BUSSENTO. Second choice is Hougoumont.

After THE SHORT GO's wide-margin victory in a Killarney maiden hurdle, Henry de Bromhead reported that he had really turned inside out in the last few months. A couple of winners have come out of that race to strengthen the form. The forecast quick ground ought to be in his favour being by Fame And Glory. Ash Tree Meadow has been in good form over fences. He ran up a hat-trick last summer and was also placed in the Galway Plate. He hasn't been over hurdles since April last year, but looks dangerous and Danny Gilligan's 7lb claim is a big bonus. Jeff Kidder is coming off a break, but has plenty of talent. He had a golden spell over flights a couple of years ago and is more than capable of having a say.

THE SHORT GO made light of a six-month lay-off when going in at Killarney last time and can improve sufficiently to edge out form-choice Da Capo Glory in a useful contest. Jeff Kidder and Ash Tree Meadow can have a say too if ready to roll after respective absences.

There should be more to come from DA CAPO GLORY who chased home Grangeclare West here in April and should have more to offer

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

EKLIL bounced back to form when narrowly denied on his return at Lingfield last month and he must hold every chance if building upon that effort. Rae Guest's charge is preferred to C&D winner Berry Edge and Broctune Red, who has been in consistent form of late but is winless since March of last year. Dandy's Angel has also won here before and cannot be dismissed.

This looks wide open but JEWEL MAKER very much signalled a return to form when fourth at Redcar 12 days ago and, operating 2 lb below his last winning mark, he could well be ready to strike. Berry Edge's sole career success to date came over this C&D and he's feared under Oisin Murphy. Broctune Red is another fancied to go well.

After definite signs of returning to form when a luckless fourth at Redcar, JEWEL MAKER (nap) is of strong interest in this lower grade.

LIVE IN THE MOMENT had no chance to show his capabilities in the Epsom Dash last week due to his stall not opening at the correct time, so that run can easily be forgiven. The six-year-old likes to race up with the pace, and has all the right attributes to give a good account on a circuit that tends to favour front-runners. Muscika also likes to be on the speed early and is feared most, while Ready Freddie Go is another to consider.

LIVE IN THE MOMENT was backed into favouritism for the "Dash" at Epsom last week but he didn't get the chance to justify the support as his stall was one of several that opened late, so he's well worth another chance back down in class. Mid Winster was a bit disappointing at Thirsk 3 weeks ago but she recorded an excellent timefigure when scoring over C&D a year ago so could well bounce back returned to this venue.

The Dash last week was a write-off but LIVE IN THE MOMENT (nap) remains of major interest and he can gain some compensation.

BALRANALD won a similar event over C&D last month when benefiting from a drop back in trip and he looks a key player off just 4lb higher. A wind operation appears to have brought about some improvement and it would be no surprise to see him back that performance up. Armattiekan, who was second in that aforementioned race, has a feasible chance of turning the form around off 5lb better terms, while En Avant appeals most from the rest.

PUMPKIN'S PRIDE's stamina may have been stretched last time and he is of strong interest judged on his effort over a similar trip to this at Doncaster earlier in the year. Armattiekan was returning from a 9-month absence when second to Balranald over this C&D and, with that run under his belt and armed with a 5 lb pull, he is taken to reverse those placings and emerge as the main danger. Robber's Bridge is also worthy of consideration.

However, given that she won by five and a half lengths when eased near the finish at Windsor last time, it's hard to put a cap on how much more she has to offer. Choisy and Just Bring It look the pick of today's opposition.

Having shaped well in a valuable C&D handicap a fortnight ago, JUST BRING IT looks the one to be on now eased in class off the same mark. Next on the list is Venetian, who put his reappearance shocker firmly behind him when a solid third from the front at Musselburgh, while Choisya is also shortlisted on the back of her Goodwood near-miss. Good Gracious is also worth a second look, for all that she was disappointing on her first run of the season at Newmarket.

Back down in class, JUST BRING IT holds very interesting claims off an unaltered mark. Choisya is second choice.

16:50 Punchestown Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SCOTT LANG has form on fast ground on the Flat and should have more to offer on his second start over hurdles. He may not have quite got home when third over 2m3f on jumping debut at Clonmel last month, so the drop back in trip can help. He has been placed on his last two starts in staying handicaps on the Flat. Nathaniel filly New Year Honours should be a factor. She won on the all-weather track at Lingfield for Ralph Beckett and has had three spins over hurdles for Gordon Elliott. She has a best finish of second at Down Royal in November and hasn't been seen since December. Fermoyle has been placed in two bumpers and has claims on his hurdling debut. Bukhill was unplaced in two bumpers for Willie Mullins, but went off favourite in both. He is worth a market check on his first start for Peter Fahey.

Not so competitive as the numbers suggest and SCOTT LANG, who comes here in good order from the Flat, is fancied to belatedly build on his hurdling debut promise and open his account in this sphere. New Year Honours is second on the list and would rate a serious threat if back to her best. Hurdling-debutant Fermoyle appeals as the pick of the remainder for place purposes.

It was a promising hurdle debut from SCOTT LANG last year. He should be fit for this arriving on the back of solid efforts on the Flat

LTO Selection:

17:00 Beverley Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Not beaten far at Redcar last time out, THORNABY BEAUTY has been knocking on the door of late and this looks like as good an opportunity as any to get off the mark at the ninth time of asking. Only a head separated Aurora Glory (second) and Yorkstone (third) when they met at Ripon last month and it is the former who is taken to come out on top once more.

THORNABY BEAUTY posted arguably her best effort yet when finding just one too strong at Redcar, for which a 1 lb rise looks very fair indeed given that she was clear of the rest. Adrian Nicholls' representative is taken to open her account at the ninth time of asking, perhaps at the chief expense of Aurora Glory, who also hit the crossbar last time and she should appreciate this step back up in trip. The return to this trip is likely to help Yorkstone, too, and he is third choice.

Aurora Glory and YORKSTONE ran similar races when finishing upside one another at Ripon. The latter is preferred this time.

LTO Selection:

17:05 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The Sir Mark Prescott stable has hit a rich vein of form of late and ROBUSTO can continue the trend by following up on a taking first win at Salisbury last time out. He remains unexposed at the trip and he should have too much for the likes of A Day To Dream and Cloud Angel (third), who has less than a length to make up with the selection from their latest clash.

ROBUSTO was strong in the betting upped markedly in trip and unsurprisingly left his previous efforts well behind to get off the mark on handicap debut at Salisbury on return 2 weeks ago. Open to further improvement, he can defy a 5 lb rise at the main expense of Cloud Angel, who was ¾-length third to the selection that day and is now 5 lb better off. A Day To Dream is best of the others.

With the 5lb rise for his handicap debut win looking fair, ROBUSTO can follow up, chased by the back down in class Peaceful Night.

17:10 Bangor NH Flat Race (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ROSE IN THE PARK, who swapped hands for 70,000 pounds after she won an Irish point-to-point in March, looks a highly appealing newcomer to racing under Rules and is fancied to make a winning start for her new connections. She is a half-sister to Blow By Blow, who was a Grade 1 winner in this sphere before making into a useful hurdler, so ticks the right boxes on pedigree. Madam Ryder and Maggie O are others to monitor in the betting.

Having won her only start between the flags, ROSE IN THE PARK is well worth a chance to maintain her unbeaten record on Rules bow. Madam Ryder is likely to improve on her debut and looks the main threat, although Maggie O, another point winner, can't be ruled out.

Irish point winner ROSE IN THE PARK can make a winning start in bumpers.

17:25 Punchestown Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

STRIKING took second place on his last couple of starts over hurdles and can get his turn. Although he was beaten a long way over a similar trip at this track last month, the horse that took the honours had been placed in Grade A and Grade B handicap hurdles. Gordon Elliott's Nottodaybobo was placed in three of his four bumpers and is an obvious threat on his first crack at hurdling. His stablemate, Sea Aster, is a newcomer to note being related to several winners. Bonavena is a nicely-bred sort making his debut for Peter Fahey.

In a race bigger on quantity than quality, Flat winner STRIKING is taken to open his account in this sphere. He chased home a Willie Mullins-trained hotpot here last time and, unless one of the newcomers turn out to be pretty decent, a reproduction of that effort will surely suffice. Of the newcomers, Farrokh is the most interesting, while the Gordon Elliott-trained pair, Nottodaybobo and Sea Aster also need a second look.

It's hard to oppose STRIKING (nap) who has finished runner-up in his last two outings and that level of form sets a clear standard

17:35 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BRIGITTE has shown ability on all three starts to date and is likely to improve for this switch to handicaps off what looks a fair opening mark. Things haven't fallen right for Double Down to date but there was enough promise again at Kempton last time to suggest he is up to winning in this grade and rates the main danger. Any market move for Mont Vallon, who has the cheekpieces on for the first time, should be noted.

With cheekpieces refitted, J J STINGLETON got back on the up when fourth at Bath last time and he remains lightly raced at this distance. He can build on his latest effort to return to winning ways, though Double Down now has a visor reapplied and is respected having made the frame on his last 2 starts. Handicap-debutante Brigitte completes the shortlist.

It might be worth siding with James Fanshawe's unexposed filly BRIGITTE, who looks interesting back up in trip on her handicap debut.

LTO Selection:

17:40 Catterick Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A determined winner over C&D last time out, LEZARDRIEUX could have been let off lightly with a 2lb rise and he is taken to notch up an 11th career success. That may be at the main expense of fellow C&D scorer Prospect and Astapor, who has won two of his last three around here over 5f. Blackjack and Jupiter Express have the form to get involved as well.

A trappy contest with a tentative vote going to QUERCUS, who goes well at this track and looks ready to hit top form again judged on his latest fourth at Ripon. Last-time-out winner Lezardrieux and Blackjack head the opposition.

All seven have claims but ASTAPOR is making good progress now and can gain his third course win of the season.

LTO Selection:

17:50 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DESERT continues to ease in the ratings and the four-year-old gets the tentative nod off 11lb lower than her sole victory. Despite finding plenty of trouble in running, the daughter of Havana Gold gave a good account to finish third over course and distance last time out and may make amends in this contest. Rhubarb has been knocking on the door of late and demands the utmost respect, while Jacquelina is another to consider.

DESERT produced her most promising effort for Malcolm Saunders over C&D a week ago, and with this an easier band of handicap, she could well be the answer. Jacquelina and Rhubarb occupied the first 2 positions in a similar race to this recently and head the opposition.

Jacquelina was a nuisance to RHUBARB in the closing stages when winning over C&D last week. The latter can gain revenge today.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

I WILL BE BAIE is hard to get away from on his first start for Willie Mullins. This French-bred gelding made 150,000 guineas at the sales after winning his point-to-point on fast ground at Taylorstown in April last year for Colin Bowe. Smokey Putnum showed marked improvement to come home third at Ballinrobe and Down Royal. This will be the quickest ground he will have faced, but he's starting to go the right way. Fad Eadrainn made a pleasing debut in third at Tipperary and should be in the hunt for prize money. Master Otis has had three outings and was second at Thurles in March. All of his runs have been on slower ground.

I WILL BE BAIE was an expensive purchase on the back of a point win and, while that was over a year ago, he's fully expected to make a successful start under Rules. Master Otis looks the main danger and Fad Eadrainn is likely to step forward from his debut.

I Will Be Baie is likely to be popular but FAD EADRAINN caught the eye on debut and with improvement likely, he gets the vote

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Bo Taifan will be popular after his breakthrough success at Chelmsford last time but all of his best form is at the Essex venue and he maybe vulnerable is this competitive heat. ADACE has shaped well on his first two starts this season and looks an interesting alternative now switched back to the Polytrack. Endless Season had some fair form in Ireland and is a possible improver with the booking of Daniel Muscutt taking the eye for her new connections.

NO TURNING BACK ran her best race yet when second at Brighton on her handicap debut last time and, with the return to 1m to suit, she can go one better this time around. Bo Taifan got off the mark on his latest outing and is feared most, while Shabs could fare better returned to this track.

Several have possibilities but recent Chelmsford winner BO TAIFAN gets the vote ahead of the lightly raced 4yo No Turning Back.

18:20 Chepstow Maiden (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SPARKLIGHT has shown plenty of promise when runner-up on her two racecourse appearances to date and the Eve Johnson Houghton-trained filly can get off the mark at the third of asking. However, there are plenty of dangers, including Crooked Crown, who took a big step forward when second at Haydock last month. Despite showing signs of inexperience, Imperiality hit the line with plenty of conviction at Lingfield on debut and the daughter of Exceed And Excel completes the shortlist.

A few with chances but Rod Millman's Cable Bay filly CROOKED CROWN holds the edge on the form of her recent Haydock second and is taken to go one better. Imperiality seems sure to build on her debut Lingfield third and is next on the list ahead of newcomer Make It Easy and Kempton runner-up Sparklight.

Preference is for CROOKED CROWN, who was in the firing line throughout when second over 6f at Haydock two weeks ago.

18:40 Lingfield Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MEXICALI ROSE has done nothing wrong in her four starts so far and could be a tough nut to crack on her first start on an artificial surface. The ground was pretty testing on her last two starts and given her dam was a winner on the all-weather, she looks to have sound claims. Having shaped with promise on debut, Sub Rosa didn't seem to see out the extra furlong at Haydock last time and rates the main danger now back over 7f. Pretty Peg is an interesting newcomer for Richard Hannon and she requires a market check.

MEXICALI ROSE was beaten only by another improver on her first foray into handicaps at Nottingham last month and, likely to go on improving, Ralph Beckett's 3-y-o may well prove tough to beat back in novice company. Sub Rosa shaped as if the run was needed on return at Haydock just over a fortnight ago so she may emerge as the main danger, with newcomers Unequal Love and Pretty Peg certainly worth keeping a close eye on in the betting.

Two of the newcomers may well have sufficient to offer on Polytrack, with slight preference for UNEQUAL LOVE over Pretty Peg.

DOCTOR MOZART arrives here in a rich vein of form, landing the spoils on three of his last four outings, and the son of Dandy Man can defy a 3lb rise and add another victory to his record. Class Member was by no means disgraced when third at Lingfield last month and could be well handicapped off a mark of 67, while C&D winner Destiny's Spirit is another to consider.

DOCTOR MOZART is thriving currently and can add another win to his tally. Jax Edge backed up his win at Bath with a solid fourth at Salisbury so is feared most.

19:15 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A really open affair in which you can make a case for all the field. EASY EQUATION is a two-time Southwell winner who battled on well to win over this C&D last time and looks fairly treated off just 2lb higher, so could win again. Smokey Malone is another course winner who is admirably consistent and could be a big danger trying 2m for the first time. Liberated Lad will be a player if he can bounce back to his form from earlier in the year.

SMOKEY MALONE continued in good heart when runner-up at Yarmouth last time and, over this longer distance, he can reverse the form with Cherry Cola from when the pair met 17 days ago. They can both be thereabouts once again, ahead of Easy Equation who has also been holding his form well.

The vote goes to EASY EQUATION (nap), who beat Cherry Cola when scoring over C&D last week and is only 2lb higher here.

LTO Selection:

19:30 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

REDREDROBIN has been in outstanding form of late and returning to a track where she has won twice is a major plus as she looks to land the hat-trick. Malcolm Saunders' charge should have too much for Connie's Rose, who has finished in the first two on her last two starts at this venue, as well as the in-form Port Noir. Savalas would be a player as well if turning up here after he finished fifth at Bath on Friday.

CONNIE'S ROSE arrives in good order and handles the track well, so she's fancied to resume winning ways at the likely expense of Redredrobin, who has had a similarly positive start to the current campaign. Savalas may also feature if the pace is strong.

The mare PORT NOIR gets the nod. She wouldn't have beaten the well-in winner at Leicester four days ago but could have finished closer.

19:45 Lingfield Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Magical Mile hit the woodwork at Sandown on his latest outing and although he's respected, preference is for CROACHILL. She wasn't beaten far in a similar contest at Leicester 11 days ago, despite finishing third of four, and the daughter of Churchill could find further improvement now eased 2lb in the ratings. Auld Toon Loon weakened late on over 1m4f at Haydock a fortnight ago, so he's worth considering down in trip.

AULD TOON LOON is still fairly low-mileage and the suspicion remains that he'll prove well handicapped from a mark in the mid-70s. He can get the better of Magical Mile, who enjoyed a prolific campaign last season and ran up to his best at Sandown last time. Captain Kane can complete the placings after a good effort at Newbury on Wednesday.

A trappy handicap. MAGICAL MILE returned to form in quite a big way when second at Sandown recently.

20:00 Chepstow Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SIR WINSTON produced a taking win at Brighton and there should be much more to come from the four-year-old as he looks to overcome a 5lb rise for that success. His chief threat looks to be Iconic Knight, who has not been outside the first two in his last four starts over C&D, while Winforglory is another who is capable of having a say in proceedings.

Brighton-scorer SIR WINSTON arrives on an upward curve so looks the way to go despite having a career-high mark to overcome. There are plenty of dangers though to Roger Varian's 4-y-o with handily-weighted Liangel Hope and C&D winner Macs Dilemma appealing as the main threats in that order.

The pick is MACS DILEMMA, who has a very good record at this track and moves back up to his optimum trip after a good second over 6f.

It's difficult to rule out the majority of these, so only a tentative vote can go to THE JACKLER. Narrowly denied at Brighton on his latest outing, the Zoustar gelding kept on well over 1m that day and should be capable of going one better now upped in trip. Bleak failed to deliver when sent off a warm favourite at Ripon in April, but he's in good hands and might bounce back, while Edge Of Ember, who has finished second on each of his three starts, heads the remainder.

EDGE OF EMBER chased home a couple of useful prospects on his first 2 outings before conceding first run in a falsely-run affair last time. He still appeals as a likely improver and is fancied to finally get off the mark here. Paradise Row took a small step forward when second at Redcar last time and should improve further with experience, whilst Brighton-winner Kehlani can also get in the mix under a penalty.

THis looks a tight contest but EDGE OF EMBER gets the vote ahead of Bleak and recent Brighton winner Kehlani.

20:30 Chepstow Stakes (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

FACT OR FABLE was an unlucky loser at Bath last time out when a length third despite missing the start, and then running into traffic close home over an extended 5f. With all four of his wins coming over seven furlongs or further, the step back up in trip looks ideal and a big run is can be anticipated. Dame Laura Knight tries cheekpieces on her turf debut and, if she finds improvement for the change of surface, she could surprise a few. Ballet Blanc is potentially well handicapped if connections can get her to repeat her best all-weather form on the grass.

FACT OR FABLE arrives in good order and should be suited by the return to this trip, so he makes most appeal in a race where the majority have something to prove. Dame Laura Knight is still relatively unexposed and could do better for cheekpieces, so she's regarded as the main danger ahead of Deacs Delight.

This looks good for FACT OR FABLE, who scores good marks for his consistency this year and won over today's trip on fast ground in May.

Valkyrian left it late to get up over 1m at Windsor 12 days ago and she looks more than capable of doubling her tally from a 4lb higher mark. A chance, however, is taken on the Ralph Beckett-trained MILDYJAMA. Outpaced at Newmarket on her latest outing, an effort for which she was subsequently eased 2lb in the handicap, the daughter of Zoffany could find improvement now returned to further and she's potentially well treated judged on her earlier form. Amazing is another to consider.

VALKYRIAN sprang a surprise to get off the mark at Windsor last time but there appeared to be no fluke about the manner of her success, so she's fancied to defy a 4 lb rise and follow up here. Klimova is intriguing starting for a new yard on her return, whilst Zaakara is bred to be better than her mark and remains unexposed over middle distances.

Top of the list is VALKYRIAN, who was a last-gasp winner at Windsor and should have more to offer on her step up to this trip.

Though still a maiden after 17 starts under both codes, LUSAKA wasn't disgraced in a class 5 event at Newbury last month. Eased 2lb in the handicap for that effort, he is now considerably well treated on his earlier Irish form and, dropped into a class 6 for the first time, he could get off the mark. Fellow class-dropper Geelong merits respect, while Prince Ali appeals most of the remainder.

LUSAKA was much better than the bare result when fifth of 18 at Newbury last time and this is significantly less competitive, so he gets the nod over Geelong, with Iron Heart another one to consider if the market speaks in his favour.

This uncompetitive finale might go to LUSAKA, who took a big step back in the right direction when fifth at Newbury three weeks ago.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
