13:50 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BEAR TO DREAM has a lot going for her with a C&D win to her name in May last year and a success here over a furlong shorter off 1lb higher last August. In six starts here she has only finished out of the first three once and she looks the likeliest winner today. Luxy Lou is yet to win on turf but was a solid second at Chepstow last year and she may prove the biggest danger, leaving Voodoo Ray to follow them home now dropping back in trip.

BEAR TO DREAM has dipped below her last winning mark and gets the vote at a track where she has a good record. Luxy Lou, the mount of Billy Loughnane, and Voodoo Ray may give her the most to do.

Topweight BEAR TO DREAM is capable of better than she showed over 6f here a fortnight ago and is selected to exploit a handy mark.

LTO Selection:

14:00 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Jenever and Stallone are recent winners who merit respect but they could both be vulnerable off significantly higher marks here. With that in mind, preference is for the unexposed LOVELIEST, who put in a career-best effort when second on her handicap debut at Thirsk recently and she can race off the same mark here. The Tron also hit the crossbar on his most recent outing and, given that came over C&D, he might prove to be the main danger.

LOVELIEST took a step forward when runner-up at Thirsk 8 days ago and, with more to come, she gets the nod ahead of recent winner Jenever. The Tron has plenty of experience over this C&D and is another one to consider.

Loveliest still has potential but STALLONE did well dropped to 5f at Newcastle last month and he can follow up.

LTO Selection:

14:10 Salisbury Stakes (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sky Wizard made a pleasing start when third in a novice at Windsor 15 days ago and is likely to make further progress. However, the votes goes to well-bred newcomer EQUITY LAW, who is a half-brother to Desert Cop, Desert Law and Top Cop, who were all effective over this trip. Magic Fluke fetched 40,000gns as a yearling and also makes a good bit of appeal on pedigree, so has to be respected first time out for Roger Varian.

This could be a warm novice given the yards represented, with SKY WIZARD the percentage call on the back of a very encouraging debut third at Windsor a fortnight ago. There are a plethora of interesting newcomers to consider though, notably Magic Fluke and Equity Law.

Based on his Windsor effort, SKY WIZARD has the best chance on form. Magic Fluke, one of the newcomers, is second choice.

LTO Selection:

14:20 Brighton Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Royal Blaze showed his inexperience when fifth at Goodwood on his debut over this trip, but he is likely to have learned plenty from that introduction and may be the one to chase home GRISE. Fourth on her Leicester debut, she stepped up on that with a one-length third at Compiegne when headed close home, and if she handles the quicker ground here, she may hold off all challengers. Justahunch is an interesting newcomer who is related to plenty of winners and seems worthy of a market check.

The late ground which ROYAL BLAZE made up on his Goodwood debut was encouraging and he can step up on that form now and get off the mark at the second time of asking. Grise and Grey Gray (due to run at Lingfield on Monday) are the obvious dangers.

Fifth in what looked a competitive Goodwood novice 18 days ago, ROYAL BLAZE could be the one with most potential here.

LTO Selection:

14:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

COLD HENRY was only narrowly denied on his seasonal return at Catterick a month ago and the four-year-old could be hard to stop off the same mark if finding any improvement for the run. Mount Olympus was an impressive winner at Kempton recently and is an obvious threat, despite a 7lb rise in the ratings. Others to note are Bay Of Naples and Bond Spirit.

BOND SPIRIT arrives on the back of a course success and there's no reason why the return to this longer trip should pose any problems, so he's preferred to Mount Olympus, who made a winning start for his new yard at Kempton recently. Cold Henry is also respected.

Although MOUNT OLYMPUS has not been a model of consistency, he looked on good terms with himself when making a winning stable debut.

DRAGON LEADER, who is closely related to useful sprinter Exclusively, who made a winning start to her own racing career, looks the most appealing of the debutants and may be worth chancing to make an immediate impact. He represents a yard which has done well with it's two-year-olds on turf this season. Likleman is another newcomer to bear in mind with Oisin Murphy in the saddle, while Conde appeals most of those with previous experience.

Not as much depth to this division, with LIKLEMAN selected to make a winning debut for his bang in-form yard. Dragon Leader is another likely type on paper, with Mullazem the pick of those with experience.

With the form on offer far from exacting, the newcomers are all of interest. DRAGON LEADER is the suggestion.

LTO Selection:

14:50 Brighton Stakes (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ARZAAK hasn't won a race since 2020 but the nine-year-old went mighty close last month with a neck third here under today's jockey, and it could be folly to write off the only C&D winner in the field. Master Sully is the best of these on official ratings and has every chance if he can repeat his C&D second, but he will need to get motoring a little earlier in this field. Notre Maison is an intriguing contender if the cheekpieces help her to stay focussed.

MASTER SULLY is no winning machine but that remark applies to all of these (the six runners have collectively won just half-a-dozen times from a combined 167 appearances) and a reproduction of his C&D near-miss last month would almost certainly be good enough to see him home in front. That said, if the first-time cheekpieces bring about some improvement in Notre Maison she will surely be involved in the finish, while the 9-y-o Arzaak also merits respect.

After two fairly good efforts at Bath, NOTRE MAISON gets the nod in the hope she responds well to the addition of cheekpieces.

15:00 Southwell Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JOHNNY JAMES accounted for a useful rival when winning on his belated racecourse debut at Catterick 11 days ago and the son of Equiano merits plenty of respect on the back of that performance. Victory Flagship has not been beaten far on either of his two previous starts and is likely to be in the mix once again. Kitten Gloves disappointed last time but is a player based on her debut effort at Wolverhampton.

JOHNNY JAMES has to concede weight all round but he holds the clear edge on his debut-winning form at Catterick so gets the nod in a novice where lots arrive with question marks against them. Sidney's Son also has the form to play a part and rates second best ahead of Kitten Gloves, who should be in the mix if first-time cheekpieces have the desired effect.

This can go to JOHNNY JAMES after his promising debut win on turf. Next best is Victory Flagship.

LTO Selection:

15:10 Salisbury Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PRINCESS NAOMI wasn't beaten far when she was second over C&D 26 days ago and, given the form has been boosted by the winner going in again since, she rates as a serious player off the same mark. Jimmy Lifestyle runs for a yard that traditionally does well here and is another to carefully monitor in the betting, while Lahina Bay also showed promise on her return from a break and warrants consideration too.

PRINCESS NAOMI is the most solid option here and is taken to strike under Oisin Murphy. Lahina Bay was a creditable third on her Lingfield reappearance and should be in the shake-up if showing up in similar form. Duisker and Jimmy Lifestyle are handicap newcomers to keep an eye on in the betting.

Well-connected handicap newcomer Jimmy Lifestyle is respected but PRINCESS NAOMI (nap) has a solid chance on her recent C&D second.

LTO Selection:

15:20 Brighton Stakes (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Now that the penny has dropped for GREEK GIANT after an impressive success at Lingfield last week, he is taken to follow up for his in-form connections. The son of Teofilo remains unexposed at the trip and he is preferred to Angel De Luz and Optik, who must hold every chance if building upon a strong runner-up effort at Wolverhampton.

The step up to this trip sparked improvement in GREEK GIANT at Lingfield last week where he landed a classified event with minimum fuss. On that evidence, he is one to keep on side and should prove hard to beat. Optik is preferred to Angel de Luz for forecast purposes.

Ed Dunlop's 3yo GREEK GIANT looked too good for this level when darting clear to justify odds-on favouritism at Lingfield a week ago.

LTO Selection:

15:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

TRIP TO ROME had plenty in hand when winning over 7f at Kempton last month and, having finished a close second on unfavourable terms over C&D on his penultimate start, there is good reason to expect the gelding to cope with a workable mark on his handicap debut. Band Of Steel faced an uphill task in the Zetland Stakes last time and is respected now dropped in class. Little Edi can also go well if he copes with stepping up in trip.

METAHORSE has been shown some respite by the handicapper so is worth siding with to get back to winning ways in a race where a number arrive on something of a retrieval mission. That can't be said of Trip To Rome though and Ed Dunlop's recent Kempton scorer rates a big danger. Course third Little Edi appeals as the pick of the rest.

He needs to bounce back from a poor run last time but ACOTANGO's earlier Haydock second strongly suggests he's still well treated.

15:40 Salisbury Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Although both Equatorial and Lion Tamer finished second last time out, they were beaten four and six lengths respectively and they may have to give way to the once-raced TALIS EVOLVERE. Third on his only start as a juvenile at Nottingham, the winner franked the form when taking the Group 3 Dick Poole Stakes here last September and, although not seen this year, his stable is in good form.

This may develop into a straight fight between EQUATORIAL and Lion Tamer, with a narrow preference for the former on the back of 2 promising runner-up efforts this spring. Talis Evolvere showed promise on his debut last summer and may prove best of the remainder unless the betting vibes are strong surrounding Owen Burrows newcomer Jimmy Frankham, the mount of William Buick.

Judged on his second-place finishes, EQUATORIAL looks capable of winning a race of this nature. Lion Tamer is second choice.

LTO Selection:

15:50 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

An eye-catcher when staying on late from off the pace here over shorter last time out, DEED POLE looks just the type that will excel over this distance. The three-year-old remains a maiden through nine starts, but this looks like as good an opportunity as any and he should have too much for Mickey Mongoose and Superstar Dj, who is in need of a revival in form.

TWILIGHT GUEST's stamina was seemingly stretched upped to 11.5f in a first-time visor at Yarmouth recently and, with the drop to this intermediate trip likely to be in his favour and cheekpieces refitted (placed both previous starts in this headgear), he could be the answer. Deed Pole was a close-up third over 7f here a fortnight ago, shaping as though worth another try at this sort of trip, and he is marginally second choice ahead of Mickey Mongoose.

Northern raider MICKEY MONGOOSE has been shaping as though his turn might be near and gets the vote.

LTO Selection:

16:00 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BIG BEAR HUG has held her form since she returned to action and, having shown tenacity to win at Leicester last month, she is an appealing option to register back-to-back wins off just 2lb higher. The switch in surfaces is a slight concern given she is unproven on Tapeta, which creates hope for any faithful supporters of Written Broadcast, who can be expected to be thereabouts despite yet to be successful over this trip. Love Your Work completes the shortlist.

LOVE YOUR WORK shaped well over a trip short of his optimum at Newcastle when last seen and he now has his ideal conditions after a break, so he gets the nod ahead of the likeable Written Broadcast. Bushfire is likely to come on for his reappearance, so he's of interest from a handy mark.

Love Your Work is a contender back from a break but BUSHFIRE can leave last month's turf reappearance behind him.

Far from consistent but has won this race for the last two years.
LTO Selection:

16:10 Salisbury Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Although Ascraeus runs from 5lb out of the handicap, she has won both runnings of this race and that makes her difficult to ignore. She could go well, but preference is for the hat-trick seeking CONFILS, who is upped in class after wins at Brighton but is happier than some of these on the forecast quick ground. Lordsbridge Girl is another to consider after being denied a clear run when third at Yarmouth.

LORDSBRIDGE GIRL is enjoying a good year and can bag a third success now stepped up in trip after finding 7f on the sharp side when third at Yarmouth last time out. Confils is feared most on the back of her recent Brighton win, with D Day Odette another who can have a say in an open handicap.

Preference is for LORDSBRIDGE GIRL who may well have more to offer back up in trip. Confils is second choice.

LTO Selection:

16:20 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PANNING FOR GOLD took a big step forward when getting off the mark over a mile at Yarmouth last week and the son of Galileo Gold is hard to oppose here, despite carrying a 6lb penalty. Kohana Breeze has shown some promise on her last couple of starts and may prove to be the main threat to the selection, ahead of Native Melody and Billaki Mou.

PANNING FOR GOLD left his AW form trailing in his wake when making second handicap start a winning one at Yarmouth on Thursday. With the prospect of more to come, he's hard to get away from under a penalty, Saratoga Spirit and Billaki Mou can also figure.

It's hard to see beyond PANNING FOR GOLD who seized control pretty quickly inside the final furlong at Yarmouth on Thursday.

LTO Selection:

16:35 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Mr Fustic won with a determined effort at Kempton last month and rates a player off just 3lb higher, while Vitralite is taken seriously given he has won two of his four starts since returning to the UK after a stint in Hong Kong and still looks attractively weighted in comparison to his past ratings. However, the consistent KODEBREAKER seems to come alive on this surface and could be hard to beat off just 3lb higher than his last winning mark.

Though a 7-y-o, VITRALITE is unexposed on the all-weather and was successful at Chelmsford in April before following up in good style at Yarmouth later that month. He could be the answer with Ben Curtis doing the steering. The consistent Kodebreaker has continued to knock on the door since landing a C&D handicap off 3 lb lower in March and is feared most ahead of Mr Fustic. Among those likely to go off at bigger prices, Elshaameq is worth a second look.

After shaping well on his seasonal debut at Newbury, LE REVEUR can go well off his current mark if that run has brought him on.

16:40 Salisbury Maiden (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Roaring Legend has hit a top-three finish on all five starts, but was beaten over seven lengths at Ripon in May and tries a new trip and cheekpieces looking to go one better. Talisman caught the eye when fifth on his Newbury debut and could improve for the experience, but LIABLE tops the shortlist. Slowly away at Yarmouth on his second start, he ran on into third and any further progress may be enough.

LIABLE took a step forward from his debut despite still looking green at Yarmouth last time and, with more progress expected, he takes marginal preference over Roaring Legend, who has marginally the best form to this point. Seahouses is also considered.

There should be further improvement to come from LIABLE. His main form rival is Roaring Legend.

LTO Selection:

16:50 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A case can be made for all of these but marginal preference is for CEILIDH, who put in a career-best effort when third over 6f at Carlisle earlier in the month and he is 2lb lower here. Big Time Maybe failed in his hat-trick attempt at this venue last time but should not be underestimated, while I'm Mable is the pick of the remainder.

The vote goes to I'M MABLE, who wasn't beaten at all far when fourth to Big Time Maybe over 5.3f here last month, and she subsequently reversed the placings with that rival when going close back at this course a fortnight ago. This slight step back up in trip should work in her favour and she is taken to again get the better of Big Time Maybe. The 3-y-o Ceilidh posted his best effort yet when third over this trip at Carlisle and he also has claims on debut for his new yard.

Triple course winner RED ALERT (nap) signalled a return to form when placed at Chepstow on Saturday and remains well handicapped.

16:55 Sligo Claiming Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BAL DE RIO has a bit to find with a couple of these strictly on ratings but the Denis Hogan-trained veteran comes into the race right at the top of his game. A winner of two claiming hurdles in recent months, he showed that he was still capable of competing in handicap company when successful at Ballinrobe in April. Following a respectable fourth placing in even better company at Listowel last month, he is very much the horse to beat here. Britzka has the highest official mark in the contest but has two ways of running. If anywhere near his best, then the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding will prove a tough opponent. My Manekineko probably has his best days behind him at the age of 14 but could be capable of reaching the frame if fit after an absence.

BRITZKA took a bit of a step back in the right direction when second over fences the other day and is potentially a classy sort for this level. Stablemate Benz may give him most to do ahead of Denis Hogan's Bal De Rio.

The solid option is BAL DE RIO who has been in fine form since the spring; clearly best in at the weights, Britzka looks opposable

17:05 Southwell Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FLEURIR wasn't quite seen to best effect when hampered inside the final furlong at Windsor last month, but she is very interesting off a mark of 79 on her handicap debut. Roger Varian's filly may have too much for the in-form Slainte Mhath, who is stepping up in trip, and C&D winner Ceanna. Tartan Skirt is another to note on her first start for the David O'Meara stable.

SLAINTE MHATH has a career-high mark to overcome but is thriving at present and fancied to follow up her Hamilton success and make it three victories in her last four starts. Lady Nagin can get back on track returned to Southwell and is next on the list ahead of handicap debutant Fleurir.

The choice is handicap newcomer FLEURIR whose second behind a useful rival at Newcastle last month suggests she may be on a good mark.

LTO Selection:

17:10 Salisbury Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A comfortable winner at Redcar last time out on her handicap debut, SPRING FEVER remains unexposed and a 7lb rise may not be enough to halt her progress. Alba Longa arrives with similar claims following a taking success at Windsor over further, while Spirit Of The Bay bounced back to winning ways in some style at Haydock last month. Timeless Melody and Totnes are capable of being in the mix too.

SPRING FEVER predictably improved for the step up to this trip when making a successful handicap debut at Redcar and, with the distinct promise of better to come from this well-bred filly, she is taken to defy a 7 lb rise in the weights. Next on the list is a similarly promising type in Alba Longa, who will be a big threat if coping with conditions having scored on very different ground at Windsor. Totnes and Timeless Melody, both of whom are moving up in trip, are others to consider.

The vote goes to ALBA LONGA, who still looks well treated and should improve further. Spring Fever, a similar type, is feared most.

17:20 Ayr Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

INDIVAR, whose dam is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Lyric Of Light, looks the part on paper and he could well follow in the footsteps of his mother by making a winning racecourse debut. It's possible that Rosenzoo will emerge as the pick of Charlie Johnston's two intended runners and he too warrants close consideration. Similar sentiments apply to Si Si Senor, while Havanarama may be the best of those with form already in the book.

ROSENZOO is bred to be useful and hails from a yard which has sent out a handful of juvenile winners this year. He can make a successful debut. Indivar also makes plenty of appeal on paper and may provide the chief threat, whilst Havanarama is much the best of those with experience.

The newcomer INDIVAR fetched a lot of money at the Tattersalls Breeze-Up Sale in April and he's got a nice pedigree to boot.

17:28 Sligo Maiden Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ARTMEMIS ANGEL shaped well enough on her most recent start at Wexford to suggest a race of this nature should be within her capabilities. The Peter Fahey-trained six-year-old raced prominently before being headed and weakening after two out. Dropping back in trip should help her get home better on this occasion, while the tight track favours one who tends to race up with the pace. Miss Madeleine ran a nice race when fourth at Tramore in April but failed to build on that effort last time. If she can reproduce her previous form, then she has a chance in a weak race. Another Bonnie has to be respected given that she represents the John Ryan stable here. The trainer does exceptionally well with his runners at this venue so they are always worth a second look.

ARTEMIS ANGEL took a step forward when fourth on her Wexford reappearance and a repeat of that form might be good enough here. Miss Madeline could provide the main threat if bouncing back to the form she showed when fourth at Tramore in April. Shana Cloon may prove best of the rest.

A few in with a shout; PEARLOFFLORIDA should have more to come on this better ground and is taken to beat top-rated Miss Madeleine

17:35 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A shade disappointing over further at Chelmsford last time out, BIT HARSH sets the standard on the winning streak he had previous to that, and dropping in distance should be right up his street. Runner-up on three of his last four starts, Ebony Maw deserves a change in luck, while Arcadian Friend must be noted for a stable that continues in excellent form.

A case can be made for lots of these but ARCADIAN FRIEND shaped well after an absence when fourth at Lingfield and hails from a yard well among the winners so gets the vote. Bit Harsh is weighted to have a say on his return from a break and could emerge as the chief danger while tapeta debutante Typical Woman and C&D winner Natchez Trace need factoring in too.

The selection is BIT HARSH (nap) who landed a hat-trick before showing improved form in finishing third on his latest start.

LTO Selection:

17:40 Wetherby Handicap (Class 6) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TARBAT NESS remains a maiden after 11 starts but was only beaten a length off this mark at Carlisle earlier this month, his third placed effort from three starts in 2023. A repeat of his latest performance may see him get to the front here. That said, Burnage Boy and We'll Go Again have been running well over jumps this year and both could get involved on their return to the Flat.

TARBAT NESS extended his sequence of placed efforts to 3 at Carlisle earlier this month and this looks a good opportunity for John Berry's 4-y-o to finally get off the mark. We'll Go Again appeared to finish with more in the tank at Cartmel just under 2 weeks ago so he may emerge as the main danger back in this sphere, with Funky Town Pinkie and Burnage Boy taken to fight out third spot.

Preference is for WE'LL GO AGAIN, who was placed in a recent chase and could plausibly have untapped potential over 2m on the Flat.

LTO Selection:

17:45 Salisbury Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

SEA OF CHARM was competing in Listed company when last in action on the Flat and she could be the one to beat on her first start for new connections. The daughter of Charm Spirit looks to be fairly handicapped and she is narrowly preferred to the capable Lucky's Dream, and Spring Glow, who is entitled to improve on her comeback run at Newbury last month.

Preference is for SPRING GLOW, who is on a decent mark and shaped as if better for the run when sixth on debut for William Knight at Newbury last month. Sea of Charm looks the likeliest danger.

Back in a less competitive field, SPRING GLOW may be able to record a first win on turf. Millions Memories is second choice.

LTO Selection:

17:50 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Viva Voce and Bay Dream Believer both arrive on the back of a victory over 1m and they are likely to go well in search of a double, but they have gone up in the ratings for those wins and slight preference is for VICTORIA FALLS. Hugo Palmer's filly has remained in fine form since scoring off 2lb lower at Wolverhampton in March and another bold bid looks assured. Jkr Cobbler went close over 7f here latest and is another to consider now back up in trip.

VIVA VOCE did well to win held up in a steadily-run race at Musselburgh 10 days ago and from just 1 lb higher, his follow-up claims appear to be bright. Victoria Falls deserves credit for her consistency so she's on the shortlist, with Bay Dream Believer also considered.

This looks open. BAY DREAM BELIEVER has struck form for her new yard and could be capable of going in again.

17:58 Sligo Maiden Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The welfare-conscious watering of tracks during this warm spell of weather has enabled Willie Mullins to keep a lot of horses on the go and his early season strike-rate is frightening for rival trainers. From a good French jumping family, CHRISCO was beaten at odds-on in two bumpers but ran into some useful types and has been found a winnable race for his hurdling debut. The strength of market support for him in the past is surely significant. Point-to-point winner Lisnamult Lad was second in a Kelso bumper in April and now goes hurdling. He hung badly left at Killarney last time which is a concern. The similarly-rated Sixhandsinmypocket and Turkestan have plenty of experience and can contend for minor honours.

CHRISCO stepped up on his debut effort when third in a Kilbeggan bumper in April and looks a likely type for hurdling. He gets the nod. One For Lucy and Sixhandsinmypocket rate the principal dangers.

The fact that CHRISCO (nap) was odds-on for both bumper defeats is telling and he has been found a winnable maiden for his hurdling bow

LTO Selection:

18:10 Wetherby Maiden (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Richard Fahey has his two-year-olds running well, and She's A Gambler looks interesting with plenty of speed in her pedigree. She could go close along with Pinpoint, who looked as if he would benefit from the experience when seventh on debut at Goodwood. However, Alice Haynes has a good record with her juveniles and a chance is taken on her Sioux Nation filly ARIZONA DESERT, who is bred to be a sprinter.

ARIZONA DESERT makes plenty of appeal on paper and is selected to become her stable's sixth successful 2-y-o debutante this spring. She's A Gambler and Northerner are a couple of other newcomers to keep a close eye on in the betting.

Richard Hannon's PINPOINT showed some ability in a competitive Goodwood novice last month and might put that experience to good use.

18:25 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 13f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

In an interesting race it may be worth siding with STREETSCAPE after a trio of solid efforts this season. He is related to St Leger runner-up The Geezer so there is hope he may improve for this distance. The four-year-old might have enough class to hold off the attentions of both recent course second Baez, and the intriguing Jack Yeats, who ran well off this mark last year and is fit from a NH campaign.

Preference is for BAEZ, who acquitted herself well in a stronger contest here last time and remains fairly treated. Streetscape and Tafsir can also make their presence felt.

No recent winning form in sight but opportunity knocks for one of these. STREETSCAPE could be the answer.

18:33 Sligo Handicap Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

It's good to see GOT GREY back in action here after he took a last-flight fall at Ballinrobe. He was close up in fourth at the time and may well have claimed minor honours behind a wide-margin winner who followed up at the same venue. Gavin Cromwell's charge had caught the eye in a good maiden at Leopardstown over Christmas and hopefully last month's mishap hasn't left a mark. Local hope Staging Post won his bumper around here and has found a bit of form in handicaps lately. In the frame on his last two starts, he will be helped by in-form Dan King's claim. Alphonse Le Grande, who was banned for 42 days after an eye-catching sixth at Thurles in February, will be better for last month's reappearance, while Stilyker flopped on soft ground last time but can contend on this sounder surface.

Another chance is given to STILYKER, who figures off a handy mark and didn't get home on his first start after a lengthy absence at Clonmel last month. Alphonse Le Grande and Staging Post head the list of dangers.

Course bumper winner STAGING POST did not quite live up to market expectations when third at Wexford but is worth another chance

Tobetso could prove popular with the William Haggas yard in good form, but he hasn't been seen since coming home fourth at Chepstow last September, and has been gelded since. With that in mind, FAKHRA might have the edge after her debut second earlier in the month, where she was beaten less than a length despite a slow start. The daughter of Zoustar should only improve for that experience, while Viscountess Renard is a newcomer to note.

FAKHRA shaped with abundant promise on debut when finishing a running-on second at Chepstow earlier this month, so Richard Hannon's filly is fancied to go a place better with improvement on the cards. Tobetso didn't offer a great deal on both outings as a 2-y-o but he's in top hands and he could be the one to give the selection most to think about. Newcomer Viscountess Renard and Final Credit can do battle for third place.

Newcomer Viscountess Renard makes some appeal on paper but FAKHRA looks the one to beat on her promising Chepstow debut form.

Narrowly denied over C&D last time out, HORTZADAR must hold every chance if building upon that effort as he looks to strike off a mark 9lb lower than his last win. Runner-up at Pontefract last time out, Garden Oasis can give him the most to think about along with Rory, who usually goes well here. Painters Palette would be a key player as well if bouncing back to form.

PAINTERS PALETTE was much better than the bare result when sixth at Ripon last time and, after a short break, he's fancied to resume winning ways. Hortzadar is a threat on the back of a creditable second over C&D and Garden Oasis, also runner-up on his latest outing, is another who should feature.

Preference is for GARDEN OASIS on the back of his bold show at Pontefract. Hortzadar is the danger.

LTO Selection:

19:08 Sligo Handicap Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Aidan Kelly has quickly slipped back into the winning groove since returning from injury and FLOREY SPUD will have his prospects of a first victory enhanced by the Kildare man's 7lb claim. The selection twice went close over this trip at Wexford last year and last month's run at Tipperary will have brought him on. Ceanndana's third of 21 at Punchestown in October is an excellent line of form and he was unsuited by soft ground in two subsequent outings. It's his first start of the year but his yard is in fine fettle. She's Tobias was placed on three occasions last year including over this trip and, separately, at this venue. She has joined a shrewd outfit and should come on from last month's comeback run at Downpatrick.

Lots with chances. Handicap debutante SHE'S TOBIAS is fancied to take a sizeable step forward on her second run for her current yard now her stamina is drawn out more so edges the vote. Latest Model figures on a handy-looking mark and is rated next best, while the unexposed Cassarina Gold is another likely improver and warrants plenty of respect too.

A hopeful vote goes to MOYVILLLA LASS who can probably improve from her recent handicap debut over a shorter trip at Wexford.

LTO Selection:

19:20 Wetherby Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

WAR CHANT appeals as a likely type to cope with a 6lb penalty imposed for a facile success over an extended mile at Nottingham nine days ago. The gelding made all that day and still looks to have plenty of potential. Na Scoitear may find improvement in first-time blinkers, while Annalee Lass is another considered off just 2lb higher than last month's Ripon success.

WAR CHANT looks well-in under a penalty for his wide-margin Nottingham success so the follow up beckons. Mr Jetman beat a subsequent winner at Redcar last month and will be a big threat if returning to that sort of form. Ripon-scorer Annalee Lass is next best.

Following his easy win at Nottingham last week, WAR CHANT is going to be hard to beat against some mainly out-of-form rivals.

LTO Selection:

19:35 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Breguet Boy arguably sets the standard on the back of his Musselburgh win two starts ago and second at Hamilton last time. That said, marginal preference is for the unexposed CHURCHELLA, who put in a career-best effort on her handicap bow recently and she may have more improvement to come. Alpina Express has a similar profile to the selection and should not be discounted, while Whatacracker completes the shortlist.

The most appealing of these is CHURCHELLA, who improved for the step up to this trip when chasing home an in-form, odds-on shot on her handicap debut at Leicester a fortnight ago. She will surely go close if able to build on that here. Breguet Boy is holding his form admirably well and is likely to be firmly in the mix once more. Handicap debutante Alpina Express is of interest from an each-way point of view, while Epona Pas and Whatacracker are also live candidates for minor honours.

Breguet Boy has solid claims in his current form but he is thoroughly exposed, whereas CHURCHELLA is having only her fifth start.

19:43 Sligo Handicap Hurdle 25f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

WHATSYOURSTATUS makes a quick reappearance having win a Friday chase and competes from a lower hurdles rating. He was a well-backed winner from a 106-chase rating at Clonmel and while forecast rain wouldn't suit, a reasonably sound surface will do and he should win from his current hurdles' rating. Reserve Judgement similarly would prefer good ground and also has solid claims. He too was well supported when winning a similar race at Down Royal recently and should compete from 7lb higher, with today's rider claiming an extra 2lb. Ladiam has been running well in similar races but isn't ahead of the handicapper while Tullyhogue Fort also has useful recent form and is ideally suited by staying distances on good ground. Aliunde has been running well and has place claims.

This looks a good race for the grade with WHATSYOURSTATUS just about the most persuasive option given he arrives on the back of a chase win from a higher mark than this. Reserve Judgement and Tullyhogue Fort are just a couple of potential threats.

Last Friday's Clonmel chase winner Whatsyourstatus is likely to be popular but ALIUNDE is put forward as an each-way alternative

19:55 Wetherby Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BELTANE made a pleasing start for Michael Appleby when a very close third at Beverley 13 days ago and he looks a solid option, despite having to shoulder 2lb more. He was rated higher earlier in his career, so looks very capable of another bold effort on these terms. The class-dropping Starshiba is feared most, although Ventura Rascal is dangerous to rule out given that he won a claiming handicap off this mark last summer.

Having enjoyed a fruitful all-weather campaign, STARSHIBA ran badly under a change of tactics at York last month but, back down in class 5 company, David O'Meara's 6-y-o is fancied to gain a first success on the turf. Beltane ran a cracker on first start for Mick Appleby at Beverley just under 2 weeks ago, so he's put forward as the main danger, ahead of Star Shield and Ventura Rascal.

Following a good third at Beverley on debut for Mick Appleby, BELTANE (nap) is taken to beat Ventura Rascal and Star Shield.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

STAY SMART got the better of the reopposing One Last Hug (second) and Sixcor (third) when gaining the success over C&D last time out that his previous form deserved. He had hit the crossbar both here and at Musselburgh before making all over track and trip eight days ago and even a 5lb penalty isn't expected to stop this in-form five-year-old from producing another bold showing. Of the others, keep an eye on Primo's Comet coming back to the minimum trip.

HIGH SECURITY produced his best effort of the season when third at Nottingham last week and now looks ready to cash in on his good mark. Old rivals Stay Smart and One Last Hug dominated the finish in a C&D handicap recently and are feared most.

One to consider strongly is MERESIDE ANGEL (nap) who is running well and should be suited by this drop in grade.

20:18 Sligo NH Flat Race 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Quevega's daughter and Facile Vega's brother AURORA VEGA makes an eagerly awaited debut at a slightly unusual time of year but should take beating. Debuting in a June bumper aged five could suggest she isn't high-class but both Facile Vega and a half-sister Princess Vega won on their debuts and her yard is flying. Homebred Littlebiggie won well against exposed but experienced rivals at Stradbally and having proven ability, being race-fit and suited by a sound surface, should run well. Come And See is a half-sister to a bumper/five-time winner while homebred Missea's half-brother was a useful staying eight-time winner. Cloudy Waters was a 2,000gns cast-off purchase from Godolphin last November and is best watched while River Robe showed some ability on hurdles debut.

AURORA VEGA is a full sister to a Champion Bumper winner and starts out in a weak race, so she's fully expected to make a successful start. Littlebiggie is the obvious danger on the back of a point win.

You bring your mare to a summer bumper in Sligo and face a sister to Facile Vega; that mare, AURORA VEGA, is the default selection

LTO Selection:

20:30 Wetherby Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

RAGOSINA didn't get a clear run last time at Pontefract after a slow start and she did well to go under by just a length in the circumstances. This small field may help and if she can repeat that effort, she could win for the first time. Recent Nottingham runner-up Angels Landing is an obvious rival but top-weight won't help her cause, while Purnika tries a hood on her first start in handicap company and could surprise a few.

RAGOSINA took a step forward when runner-up on her handicap debut/reappearance at Pontefract despite still looking green, so with further improvement anticipated, she's a straightforward choice to go one better. Angels Landing was unlucky to bump into a big improver at Nottingham and is feared most.

The unexposed FLIGHT OF ANGELS should improve on her reappearance run and is taken to beat Ragosina and Angels Landing.

LTO Selection:

20:45 Ayr Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There was a lot to like about EMILY POST's seasonal/stable debut over this trip at Wetherby last month, when beaten just over a length in second, and she's entitled to come on for that outing. She could go one better, although the switch to more positive tactics worked the oracle for Ahamoment when scoring at Musselburgh 10 days ago and he looks a serious threat, despite a 4lb rise. Merricourt was a length and a quarter back in second that day and must be considered now 4lb better off at the weights with the winner.

AHAMOMENT found improvement when opening his account at Musselburgh earlier this month and hasn't been harshly treated by the handicapper for that success. He can follow up in the finale. Chookie Dunedin and Merricourt rate the principal dangers.

An open race with several in-form contenders. AHAMOMENT found plenty when winning at Musselburgh and is preferred to Classy Al.

Azeezan appeals on his handicap debut from a very workable mark, while Nibras Rainbow holds a solid chance of at least making the frame based on his nose second at Lingfield latest. However, PARR FIRE has been cut some slack by the handicapper and could provide a bit of value now she tries a longer trip. Shot Of Love is closely matched with the selection and is feared most in first-time blinkers.

NIBRAS RAINBOW looks ready to strike judged on his recent effort at Lingfield where he was edged out close home by an in-form rival from the Charlie Johnston yard. A 1 lb nudge for that looks fair and, provided the blinkers work equally well second time round, he may well go one better here. Nightout shaped as though the return to this trip would suit when third at Thirsk last time and is next best ahead of handicap debutant Azeezan.

The suggestion is PARR FIRE who is on a really good mark at present and should be suited by the step up to 7f.
