LTO Selection:

13:50 Newton Abbot Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

An impressive winner over C&D last week, BASFORD looks to have a gilt-edged opportunity to follow up in this small field. The form of the Jennie Candlish stable is another plus and he should have too much for Sylvies Dance, who returns from long absence under Rules for a new yard and may well improve on whatever she shows. Afta Party can pick up the pieces if either of the aforementioned pair falter.

Another good opportunity for BASFORD, who can follow-up last week's C&D win under a penalty. Sylvies Dance has presumably had her share of issues but a recent second between the flags will hopefully put her spot on this, and she looks the main threat.

Although not impressive in last week's win, BASFORD can follow up.

LTO Selection:

14:00 Newbury Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MAPMAKER shaped with significant promise on her Redcar debut eight days ago, where she finished a good third. The daughter of Aclaim ought to improve for that initial experience and she's fancied to put it to good use. Without Flaw, a daughter of the classy Too Darn Hot, merits respect for a stable which often does well with their debutants, while Koji appeals most of the remainder.

MAPMAKER shaped with plenty of encouragement when third at Redcar on debut and might not need to improve on that to open her account at the second attempt. Roubay also produced a promising first effort, so she's feared most unless the market speaks in favour of newcomer Without Flaw.

The extra experience of UNION JACKIE is an advantage and she is preferred to Mapmaker and Shaws Phoenix.

LTO Selection:

14:15 Nottingham Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

GRAFFITI was only beaten a neck into second on his seasonal return at Brighton two weeks ago and, with the benefit of that run, the four-year-old could go one better off just a 2lb higher mark. Girl Inthe Picture also hit the crossbar on her most recent outing and she edges out Hellavapace and Josiebond to be the pick of the remainder.

GIRL INTHE PICTURE was just about better than ever when runner-up to a course specialist at Yarmouth a fortnight ago and she holds sound claims of going one place better from the same mark. Josiebond has cheekpieces back on and is likely to get back on track, with Kenilworth King another to consider starting out for a new yard.

He doesn't help himself by tending to race a bit too freely but GRAFFITI ran well in defeat on his seasonal debut and is selected.

Absent for 14 months but his form from 2021 makes him of interest.
LTO Selection:

14:25 Newton Abbot Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Denied by the narrowest of margins at Ffos Las last time out, JUST THE MAN can gain compensation here. The son of Rajsaman is narrowly preferred to the recent Warwick runner-up Coolnaugh Haze and Dancila, who could be well treated off a mark of 120 on his handicap debut. Stablemate Valentino Dancer is a player based on the pick of his form as well.

A useful winner on the Flat, DANCILA made an impressive start over hurdles when successful at Musselburgh in February and was left with too much to do when third at Huntingdon on his latest outing. He can resume winning ways on his handicap debut, with Just The Man feared most after he was only narrowly denied last time. Coolnaugh Haze also merits consideration.

It may pay to trust that VALENTINO DANCER can return from an absence with a win.

14:35 Newbury Maiden (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

One of two fillies in the race, it might be worth taking a chance on the Ralph Beckett-trained GOLDEN MYRRH. A 200,000gns purchase, the daughter of Frankel is related to a host of smart types and would, on paper, appear to have what it takes to make a successful debut. There's No Limit could step forward from his recent Pontefract third and enters calculations, along with Short Circuit and Hurricane Power.

Tough without any betting clues, with SHORT CIRCUIT, D Point and Golden Myrrh put up as the most appealing newcomers on paper. There's No Limit could build on his first run when third at Pontefract but this looks a deeper contest.

There's No Limit is the only one with racing experience but the eyes are drawn to GOLDEN MYRRH, Short Circuit and Rosallion.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MISS SHOW OFF displayed plenty of encouragement when only denied by a neck on her racecourse debut at Sandown last month and Clive Cox's filly is hard to oppose on the back of that performance. That said, Tierney should appreciate this drop in grade having contested a Listed event last time and Mantra is another with valid form claims. Of the newcomers, Beautiful Diamond and Ziggy's Queen make the most appeal.

MANTRA caught the eye massively with her finishing effort when fourth in a Yarmouth maiden on debut 2 weeks ago, finishing strongly from off the pace after a very slow start, so gets the vote with plenty of improvement expected. Miss Show Off went close to making a winning start at Sandown so is respected, while Beautiful Diamond is a newcomer to note having fetched a tidy sum at the Breeze Ups.

The pick is MANTRA, who caught the eye making good late headway on her Yarmouth debut. Miss Show Off is feared most.

15:00 Newton Abbot Handicap Chase (Class 4) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A winner at a big price over C&D last time out, SHORTCROSS STORM can prove that was no fluke by going in again off a 3lb higher mark. The eight-year-old is still well below a career-high mark of 106 over fences and he could have too much for Hurricane Vichi, who is interesting on his chase debut. A winner at Exeter on his penultimate start, Investment Manager is entitled to be thereabouts as well.

HURRICANE VICHI went very close off this mark over hurdles earlier in the year and should make a chaser (runner-up sole start in Irish points), so could be the answer with Harry Cobden taking over. Recent C&D winner Shortcross Storm is the obvious threat, especially if allowed the run of things again.

Shortcross Storm could prove hard to catch again but preference is for chasing debutant HURRICANE VICHI.

15:10 Newbury Maiden (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SON kept on well over five furlongs at Ascot on his racecourse debut last month. A step up in trip is likely to benefit the Too Darn Hot colt and he can strike at the second time of asking. Doubletalk is another who should improve having faded over seven furlongs at Haydock 12 days ago, while Hot Fuss boasts an appealing pedigree and should not be underestimated.

SON shaped well on his debut at Ascot and promises to do a lot better up in trip so he's the obvious shout. Hot Fuss is an interesting newcomer, while Soldier's Gold could build on his first start at Haydock.

Today's ground could be at the opposite end of the scale but SON's finishing effort over 5f on soft at Ascot points to a win.

Isle Of Dreams merits the utmost respect on the back of five consecutive victories but a 4lb rise for the most recent of those wins will make life harder for her now up in grade. With that in mind, the unexposed DOLLY GRAY gets the vote following her third on seasonal debut at Wolverhampton recently. Rainbow Mirage is 1lb below her last winning mark and is another to consider.

ISLE OF DREAMS continued on her upward curve when completing an impressive 5-timer in determined fashion at Thirsk 46 days ago. The handicapper has applied a little more pressure but she may not have reached her limit and earns the vote to come out on top again. Hello Me is the danger.

Very progressive mare ISLE OF DREAMS has won her last five races and might have been found a good opportunity to add to her haul here.

Energy Two showed plenty across her qualifying runs and must be of interest, hooded for the first time ahead of her handicap bow, while Buxted Too is another to consider.

BUXTED TOO took a step in the right direction last time and he's potentially thrown in based on Flat form, so he gets the nod over fellow handicap debutant Marley Head. Hunting Percival arrives on the back of a good second at this course, so he also merits consideration.

Handicap hurdle newcomer BUXTED TOO has a tempting mark, given his Flat ability.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SERGEANT TIBBS was only narrowly denied off 2lb lower at Ascot over this trip on his penultimate run and is fancied to bounce back here. John Flint's five-year-old is taken to benefit from a drop in class having struggled over C&D on his most recent outing. Hydration remains unexposed and is feared most on his handicap bow, ahead of Tajdif.

A previous C&D winner, SERGEANT TIBBS remains well handicapped on his best form and can't be judged too harshly on his effort here last time. He's fancied to get the better of stablemate Vape, who also has a decent record at the track, with Champagne Sarah just preferred to handicap debutant Hydration for third.

Champagne Sarah is capable of better but if TAJDIF returns to the form he showed on debut then he could prove well treated.

It is likely INSTALLATION was in need of the run when he finished down the field at Newmarket on his seasonal debut and, given he showed a good deal of improvement dropped to this level at Hamilton last time, Richard Fahey's gelding is an attractive proposition on this occasion. That form has already been boosted and, from the foot of the weights, he appears to be a big player. Funny Story and recent Haydock winner Spirit Of Applause are forwarded as the pick of the opposition.

FUNNY STORY shaped well on her return at Newmarket and looks the type to win handicaps. She's taken to come out on top from Haydock-scorer Spirit of Applause and Doncaster-winner Secret Guest.

Two of these comes here after convincing wins. SECRET GUEST has fewer miles on the clock than Sprit Of Applause and gets the nod.

A few with chances, so only a tentative vote can go to DANCINGONTHEEDGE. Paul Nicholls' charge was beaten a neck at Uttoxeter on her latest outing, but first-time cheekpieces could elicit the improvement required to come home in front. Saxon Queen defied a lengthy absence to fill the runner-up spot at Ffos Las on her return and she is the main danger off a 4lb raised mark. Keep an eye on Rubys Reward too.

This looks a gilt-edged opportunity for DANCINGONTHEEDGE to get off the mark over hurdles, beaten only by narrow margins on 2 of her last 3 starts and clearly still on a workable handicap mark. The danger could be Rubys Reward, who will be suited by this stamina test and can take another step back in the right direction.

This may well be the chance for DANCINGONTHEEDGE to gain a first hurdle success.

This represents a considerable drop in grade for EXIMIOUS and the daughter of Exceed And Excel is fancied to make a winning return to action. She struggled in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket when last seen in September, but kept on well to score at Salisbury on her penultimate outing. Ludmilla makes her handicap debut following a fair fourth over this trip last month and is noted, while Discretion is another to bear in mind back on turf.

LUDMILLA arguably shaped best when third in a Newmarket novice late last season and though she hasn't yet progressed as expected, the switch to handicaps may now help her get back on track and belatedly build on that promise. Discretion shaped with plenty of encouragement on her return at Kempton a fortnight ago and is feared most, with Prenup also capable of extending her good start for her new yard.

Having won smoothly on good to firm ground on her second start, EXIMIOUS was well beaten next time but that was in a Group 2.

16:35 Nottingham Handicap (Class 4) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SPLENDENT ran a blinder to be third in a decent handicap at York three weeks ago and he is a strong candidate off just 1lb higher today. The step up in trip is an interesting move, but given he was doing his best work at the finish on the Knavesmire, there is good reason to expect it will suit. The fitting of cheekpieces for the first time may also assist with improvement. Bashful Boy looks the chief danger, although Protected Guest is competitively weighted for his return to turf.

SPLENDENT has been going the right way this season, successful at Windsor in May before improving again when third at York 9 days later, so he can resume winning ways with cheekpieces now on. Heading the list of dangers is Bashful Boy, who looked better than ever back on the Flat on his latest outing, ahead of Protected Guest.

It might pay to give another chance to SINGLE, who wasn't at her best last time but ran very well in a good race at Newmarket in May.

16:45 Newton Abbot Handicap Chase (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CHIEF BLACK ROBE has been a facile winner on both occasions since switching to the Fergal O'Brien stable and a hat-trick could be on the cards, despite racing off a 12lb higher mark than his C&D triumph seven days ago. Balko Saint arrives in fair form having finished runner-up on his last two appearances and is the chief threat, while connections of Umndeni reach for first-time blinkers and he's dangerous to dismiss off a tumbling mark.

CHIEF BLACK ROBE is clearly a different proposition for current connections, so Fergal O'Brien's 7-y-o is strongly fancied to bring up a quickfire hat-trick under a penalty and remain unbeaten over the larger obstacles. Balko Saint rates the obvious danger and he could be set for a fourth successive runner-up finish over fences.

It's hard to look beyond CHIEF BLACK ROBE after his two easy wins.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Aidan O'Brien boasts a strong hand with three well-bred colts in DIEGO VELAZQUEZ, Meriwether Lewis and Portland. The vote goes to the former as he is a half-brother to Broome, who has been an excellent servant to connections in recent seasons, and, more interestingly, Point Lonsdale, who won this in 2021 before landing the Chesham at Royal Ascot. It would be no surprise if the son of Frankel made a winning start to his career. The aforementioned Meriwether Lewis has a sublime pedigree and has to be respected along with Huxley, while Instant Appeal's second on debut at Leopardstown gives him a great chance.

DIEGO VELAZQUEZ fetched a mouth-watering 2,400,000 gns as a yearling and, seemingly the choice of Ryan Moore, he's selected to make a winning start before the benefit of market clues. Instant Appeal showed fairly useful form first time up when second at Leopardstown last month, so he's put forward as the main threat, ahead of the selection's stablemate Portland.

Some serious pedigrees on show here and all eyes will be on Frankel newcomer DIEGO VELASQUEZ who was a hugely expensive yearling

(7) Maid In London 9/1, Matched debut form and proved strong at the finish back from 5 months off when landing 7-runner Wolverhampton novice (8.6f) in April. Likely best not judged too harshly on turf/handicap debut effort at Newmarket on account of poor draw and she's not one to write off.
Flopped on last month's turf/handicap debut but can still progress from her AW novice win.
LTO Selection:

17:10 Nottingham Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A comfortable winner over 7f at York last month, STARNBERG left the impression that he can secure a double stepping up in trip and Richard Hannon's inmate looks the one to beat. The fact Alec Voikhansky negates most of the gelding's 8lb rise for that success with his 5lb claim makes him of significant interest, but the consistent Gulmarg should not be taken lightly with his most recent run for third at Newmarket in mind. Abu Royal kept on well to score in maiden company at Ayr last month and completes the shortlist on his handicap bow.

An interesting 3-y-o handicap and it could be worth siding with AUGUST. His finishing effort never quite matched the way he travelled when fourth at Newmarket 3 weeks ago but there's no doubting he remains the type to do better and, from an appealing opening mark, he earns the vote. Impressive Ayr winner Abu Royal and Umberto head up the dangers, along with Starnberg.

There should still be more to come from AUGUST, who makes his handicap debut after coming fourth in a good Newmarket novice.

17:15 Kempton Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

IBN ALDAR should not be inconvenienced by stepping back up to 7f as he looks to follow up his most recent victory at Lingfield having returned from a break. Charlie Hills' charge gets the vote ahead of Wolverhampton runner-up Ikkari and With Respect, who ran with credit when fourth over C&D last time out. Handicap debutant Profit Given is another to note.

RICH RHYTHM made up plenty of ground having blown the start over 6f at Chepstow 3 weeks ago and there was enough promise in that effort to recommend him this time back over 7f. There's plenty of depth to this, though, with Ibn Aldar and Calonne a couple of potential threats.

The impression left by IBN ALDAR last time suggests there will be more to come from him now back up in trip and he gets the vote.

17:20 Newton Abbot NH Flat Race (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GREGORIAN DIAMOND posted a fair third on his bumper debut at Stratford last month and a similar level of performance may suffice in this weak affair. Palawan Du Mazet is the potential fly in the ointment on his racecourse bow and Alan Jones' gelding is worth noting in the market. Better was expected of Corporal Jackjones when ninth at Huntingdon in January and it's too soon to be writing off the four-year-old.

GREGORIAN DIAMOND represents a yard firmly amongst the winners and showed ability when third on debut in a Stratford bumper 17 days ago. Entitled to build on that, he gets the nod to come out on top, possibly at the chief expense of Corporal Jackjones. The betting should guide with debutant Palawan du Mazet.

Third in a good race at Stratford, GREGORIAN DIAMOND earns the vote.

LTO Selection:

17:25 Newbury Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SALIGO BAY recorded a first triumph of the season when getting up to lead at Windsor recently and the Gary Moore-trained gelding looks more than capable of shrugging off a 3lb rise. Seal Of Solomon would make more appeal over further, nevertheless, he can't be discounted and could go well under a positive ride. Captain Kane is now 2lb lower than his last success and may emerge as the biggest threat to the selection.

SALIGO BAY bounced right back to his best and landed a few bets in the process when successful at Windsor 16 days ago and a 3 lb rise won't prevent a very bold follow-up bid. Wonder Starelzaam won at this venue last summer and will find this easier than the AW race he contested last time, with Udaberri one to consider at longer odds.

The Windsor win on good to firm 16 days ago, allied to a pretty consistent Flat record, suggests SALIGO BAY (nap) is a solid option.

LTO Selection:

17:30 Curragh Stakes 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

VALIANT FORCE wasn't disgraced when weakening late on into fifth in the Marble Hill over C&D recently and the Adrian Murray-trained colt could put his experience to good use on this drop in class. The market should prove informative for Aidan O'Brien's trio, with debut third Alabama likely to appreciate this stiffer test. His stablemate The Liffey may improve once over further, but he has enough speed and class in his pedigree to make an impact here too.

VALIANT FORCE has been highly tried on both of his starts but has shown plenty of ability in defeat and can take advantage of the drop in class. Alabama can be expected to leave his debut run well behind so rates the main threat ahead of Mythology, who fetched a tidy sum at the Breeze Ups.

Of those that have run, ALABAMA (nap) is taken to step up from his third on heavy ground and is preferred to Valiant Glory.

17:37 Ripon Stakes (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Richard Fahey lifted this prize 12 months ago with subsequent Prix de l'Abbaye winner The Platinum Queen and he could repeat the dose with ALGHALIB. The son of No Nay Never, a 160,000-euro purchase, should not lack for speed on his racecourse debut and is, perhaps crucially, drawn high. Desert Master would hold every chance if returning to the form that saw him chase home Ziggy's Phoenix over C&D in April, while Knicks heads the remainder.

DESERT MASTER had excuses at Nottingham last month so is worth another chance to confirm the promise of his debut second over C&D, form which is backed up by the timefigure. Expensive yearling Alghalib is the pick of the newcomers ahead of Knicks before market clues.

An interesting opener where DESERT MASTER should be capable of getting off the mark, having shown promise on both starts.

Preference is for THE NEW MARWAN. The Dark Angel gelding is officially 1lb well-in competing off the same mark as when half-a-length second at Redcar last time. Trojan Truth and the unexposed My Chiquita complete the shortlist. The former is feared most on the basis that he is up just the 2lb for scoring over this trip at Windsor and is now tried in first-time cheekpieces.

THE NEW MARWAN shaped well at Redcar last week and can resume winning ways. Recent Windsor scorer Trojan Truth and Alhabor are feared.

This can go to THE NEW MARWAN (nap) who returned to form at Redcar last week. Alhabor is next best.

LTO Selection:

17:50 Kempton Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A promising third on her debut at Goodwood when keeping on well, HELLFIRE BAY must hold every chance for her in-form connections as she makes the switch to the all-weather. Oops wasn't beaten far either at Newmarket and she must enter calculations, along with Whoop Whoop. A half-sister to recent London Gold Cup second Bold Act, Dazzling Star is an intriguing newcomer for strong connections, while the same can be said of the Siyouni filly Kinako Mochi.

A bunch to be positive about with HELLFIRE BAY expected to take a leap forward having displayed plenty of ability amidst obvious greenness starting out at Goodwood 11 days ago. Dazzling Star and Kinako Mochi are well-bred newcomers for powerful connections so demand respect, particularly if the market vibes are positive.

An interesting race in which the Gosdens' HELLFIRE BAY gets the vote ahead of Oops and Godolphin's newcomer Dazzling Star.

Interesting to see if her big entries are backed up with market strength on handicap debut.
LTO Selection:

17:55 Newbury Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Last-time-out maiden winner Nader King may have more improvement in him now entering handicap company and Sir Michael Stoute's colt can't be taken lightly. Preference, however, is for ASHTANGA. The selection proved no match for subsequent Oaks runner-up Savethelastdance at Chester last month, but her opening mark of 82 looks workable. Connections of Intricacy reach for a first-time visor and he may also have a say.

INTRICACY was unsuited by a slow pace in what was a muddling contest at Wolverhampton last month but, back in a bigger-field scenario and with a first-time visor applied, Simon & Ed Crisford's charge can make a winning start to life in handicaps. Nader King narrowly made a winning return at Nottingham, and he may emerge as the main threat now handicapping for his top yard, ahead of Richard Hannon's pair Playactor and Great Bedwyn.

Nearly all of these runners are of some interest. The vote goes to INTRICACY ahead of Raintown and Nader King.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Curragh Maiden 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SCARLETT O'HARA has finished second in two very competitive maidens in recent months and the application of first-time cheekpieces could help the daughter of Frankel to go one better here. Aird was a nose in front of the selection on her sole previous start last year and she cannot be discounted on her return to action. Kitty McFee showed plenty of promise on her racecourse bow and edges out Portunalia and Bindi Sue to be best of the rest.

ALL TIME GREAT didn't show much in a heavy-ground maiden at Leopardstown in April but that race was won by her bigger-priced stablemate and subsequent Oaks runner-up Savethelastdance, so this daughter of Justify is evidently thought capable of a good deal better (entered for Ribblesdale and Irish Oaks). Aird showed plenty in what was a strong fillies maiden at Leopardstown in October so rates the main threat ahead of Scarlett O'Hara, who looks capable of winning a maiden at some point.

Jessica Harrington's SCARLETT O'HARA sets the standard on her latest run at Leopardstown; Angelic Appeal will enjoy this ground

18:10 Ripon Stakes (Class 5) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having bolted up on his racecourse debut in April, ROGUE SEA lost nothing in defeat when finishing second to an improver at Nottingham last month. Tom Clover's colt sets the standard with an official rating of 83 and is likely to be difficult to beat, providing he handles conditions which are the fastest he will have encountered to date. Blinkered for the first time and upped in trip, King Me could take a step forward, while Page Three can chase them home.

A small field but a trio of promising types in PAGE THREE, Rogue Sea and Palio. The first-named runner has displayed plenty of ability both starts on the AW and just about shades the verdict switched to turf.

A step up in trip and the fitting of blinkers may help KING ME win for the first time.

18:20 Kempton Stakes (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A tentative vote goes to MERLIN THE WIZARD, who ran well on his debut over C&D last December before being slightly unlucky when short of room at Newmarket last month. With improvement expected, he can get the better of Chelmsford winner Mindthegap and Magic Memories, who was an eye-catcher when staying on from off the pace at Windsor on his racecourse bow. Akkadian Thunder and Botanical look to be the pick of the newcomers.

MERLIN THE WIZARD confirmed debut promise here when fifth in a strong Newmarket novice on his return and shades the vote over penalised-winner Mindthegap, who beat 3 subsequent winners by a wide margin at Chelmsford in November. Magic Memories offered something to work on at Windsor and looks best of the others.

It might be worth sticking with MINDTHEGAP, who won by 4l at Chelmsford in November and is open to more progress on his return.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Apache Outlaw ran to a high level as a juvenile, perhaps most notably when finishing within two lengths of Shartash in the Railway Stakes, and that level of form entitles him to plenty of respect on this handicap bow. Not Too Real Bad found herself with plenty to do passing the two furlong marker, so it was to her credit that she found a way to win at Cork. Thomas Mullins' charge runs from 2lb out of the handicap here, but that success would suggest she can cope. SILMANIYA opened her account at Navan last September before going on to contest a Listed event at Dundalk, where she was sent off favourite. Back on turf, this mark looks well within range and he edges the vote.

NOT TOO REAL BAD finished strongly to score at Cork 3 weeks ago and, with the scope for further progress, she gets the narrow vote ahead of the reappearing Silmaniya. Amazon Lady is another one to consider.

Joseph O'Brien's MARIA BRANWELL has a touch of class about her and she should be very competitive in her first handicap.

18:40 Ripon Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Despite being repeatedly short of room from the two furlong marker, LUDO'S LANDING powered home to strike at Carlisle on Friday. Charlie Johnston's charge must saddle a 6lb penalty for that success, but that might not stop him if arriving in the same mood. Flame Spirit made a winning handicap debut at Wolverhampton last time out and he merits respect back on the turf, while it would be no surprise to see improvement from the Simon & Ed Crisford-trained Laser Guided.

LUDO'S LANDING quickened up in taking style when scoring at Carlisle last week and he's worth a chance to follow up. Laser Guided is a danger with improvement likely on handicap bow. Flame Spirit is also of interest.

The suggestion is LASER GUIDED. If he is able to cope with the preliminaries this time, he looks capable of progress in handicaps.

LTO Selection:

18:50 Kempton Stakes (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Orchid Bloom sets the form standard and she confirmed her well-being when second at Chester on her seasonal return recently. That said, she may struggle to give 2lb to NEW BUSINESS, who has contested two very competitive races this year and he may benefit from this drop in trip. Battista and Extrication boast smart pedigrees and rate the pick of the newcomers.

ORCHID BLOOM matched the form of her debut success as a 2-y-o when runner-up on return at Chester 11 days ago, and with further progress in the offing she gets the nod to build on that and make it 2 wins from 3 starts. New Business has a bigger effort in him and is feared most back down in class from a handy draw. Battista is a newcomer to note.

Several interesting newcomers in this line-up but ORCHID BLOOM is taken to defy her penalty.

LTO Selection:

19:00 Curragh Handicap 14f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BURREN SONG has only had one attempt at this trip in the past, when not beaten far at Killarney, and now looks like the ideal time to go again, having won his last three. Andrew Slattery's charge can uphold the form with Hell Bent (third) from Leopardstown, while My Mate Mozzie must be of interest on his first run since finishing second in the November Handicap. Stablemates Nusret and White Caviar also have the form to get involved in proceedings.

WHITE CAVIAR stayed on well into third in a listed contest at Gowran last time and she's open to further improvement back in handicap company, so she gets the nod over the thriving Burren Song. Hell Bent is another one to consider with cheekpieces applied for the first itme.

Not at his best in two trips across the water last month, FIRSTMAN will enjoy the ground and might be able to bounce back to form

LTO Selection:

19:10 Ripon Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

It could be worth siding with CONCEITO off a break, given she remains unexposed and is fancied to build on her three runs from last season. She sports first-time cheekpieces for her handicap bow and warrants a market check, along with Rockonmecca, who steps up in trip following a fair third at Musselburgh most recently. Patriot's Choice is another to bear in mind.

ROCKONMECCA has shown improved form sent handicapping this season, running well when third at Musselburgh last time, so she can continue her progress in first-time cheekpieces to get off the mark. Blue Antares should still have more to offer on only his second start in a handicap and could be the main danger, ahead of Rubellite.

A weak contest where the answer could be ROCKONMECCA (nap), who may be able to find more now upped in trip with cheekpieces fitted.

Improved second at Windsor and he looks interesting now dropped to 7f on handicap debut.
LTO Selection:

19:20 Kempton Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

In a wide-open event marginal preference is for LUNATICK, who put in a career best when second at Windsor on his return a month ago. If finding further improvement, the son of Sea The Moon could be hard to beat on his handicap debut off a mark of 83. Diamond Vega struggled in Listed company on her final start as a juvenile but she should not be underestimated at this level. New Endeavour is another with strong form claims, while Ertebat and Alpha Crucis complete the shortlist.

ERTEBAT pulled clear of the rest when second to a similarly progressive type at Newmarket 3 weeks ago and remains of plenty of interest stepping up to 7f. Lunatick and New Endeavour head the dangers after making eye-catching reappearances at Windsor and York respectively.

This looks wide open but Hughie Morrison's handicap newcomer LUNATICK gets the vote ahead of Animate and Ertebat.

19:30 Curragh Maiden 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

DESERT HAVEN has clearly improved from two to three years and looks the answer to this maiden. Noel Meade's charge was a beaten favourite at Cork last month but it wasn't a particularly bad run and he sets a decent standard on his penultimate effort at this track. First Gentleman tries cheekpieces for the first time and has placed on each of his two starts, including here, while Blue News boasts good enough form to suggest he can be competitive too.

Only a short head separated FIRST GENTLEMAN and Desert Haven when the pair met at Cork 33 days ago and, with the former boasting fewer miles on the clock, he gets the nod to confirm those placings with first-time cheekpieces now enlisted. Miracle Nation and Blue News complete the shortlist.

There's not a lot between the standout form contenders but MIRACLE NATION could be open to the most improvement after one run.

LTO Selection:

19:40 Ripon Handicap (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Only narrowly denied over 5f at this track in April, a drop in class can see INTRINSIC BOND defy a 2lb rise here and Tracy Waggott's six-year-old appears the one to beat. However, he is now rated 4lb above his last winning mark, which came over C&D last August, so Bay Breeze can give him plenty to think about off 4lb higher for his latest success at Thirsk. Recent C&D winner Twelfth Knight completes the shortlist.

An 8-runner field but a really competitive sprint handicap, with the reliable LEAP ABROAD fancied to continue his good spell and take advantage of some relatively lenient handicapping following another creditable effort at Newbury. It Just Takes Time is another likeable sort and is much respected after a sound placed effort at the Dante meeting, whilst least year's Great St Wilfrid winner Intrinsic Bond also makes appeal after another good effort here last time.

All eight have claims but TWELFTH KNIGHT can continue on his upward curve at the main expense of course specialist Bay Breeze.

LTO Selection:

19:50 Kempton Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

PREPENSE readily accounted for some decent rivals in a 7f Newmarket maiden in April and the daughter of Kingman is hard to oppose off an opening mark of 85. The unbeaten Marksman Queen is an obvious threat to the selection and may improve for the application of a first-time hood. Rainbow Sky should be noted now returning to the all-weather, while similar comments apply to Maid In Kentucky and Mayfair Gold.

MARKSMAN QUEEN is 2 from 2 and open to more progress on her first go in handicaps, so she's preferred to Prepense, who opened her account at Newmarket last time and is bred to do much better. Maid In Kentucky is another one to consider.

The vote goes to PREPENSE, who won a Newmarket maiden in April and is open to more progress at this new trip on her handicap debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

LADY ARWEN arrives on the back of her best effort for a short while and she could be primed to make a big impact on her debut run for Connor O'Dwyer. Her sole previous win came off 1lb higher and, given Jake Coen pitches in with his 5lb claim, this daughter of Postponed has a live chance at the weights. Midnight Fire heads a long list of dangers, with the likes of Admiral Nelson, Grigal and Markievicz all shortlisted as having something to offer too.

GEGENPRESSING was a pretty big eye-catcher at Naas last month and just 1 lb above his last winning mark, he's certainly weighted to strike. Admiral Nelson and Markievicz both won big-field handicaps last time and just a couple of potential threats.

The 6yo MIDNIGHT FIRE seems to need this sort of ground and won't be at all inconvenienced by returning to 6f after a good latest run.

Initial mark gives him a chance based on his best Irish effort; market check suggested..
LTO Selection:

20:15 Ripon Handicap (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Previous course winner LORD CAPRIO is effective under both codes of racing and he appeals strongly in a race that might well be run to suit. Oasis Prince strikes as a prime candidate to set a decent tempo, which would play to the strengths of the selection given his penchant for swooping late with his challenge. Haizoom is back on a winning mark and is also of interest on debut for Charlie Johnston.

Just the 4 runners and this could get tactical, HAIZOOM taken to make a winning start for the red-hot Charlie Johnston yard and take her record to 2-2 over C&D. Lord Caprio was successful over hurdles at Hexham on Saturday and he's preferred to Oasis Prince for the forecast spot.

Given he arrives in good form over hurdles and has won around here, LORD CAPRIO gets the vote.

20:25 Kempton Handicap (Class 3) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

STAY WELL offered something to work with when eighth on his reappearance at York last month and he makes plenty of appeal now returned to the C&D of his last triumph. Educator returned to form with a third-placed finish at Doncaster on Friday and is another to be interested in if proving as effective on this all-weather debut. Tashi also hit the frame last time at Epsom and completes the shortlist.

Plenty arrive with claims and it could pay to side with STAY WELL. He ought to have come on for his reappearance run and, boasting a progressive profile on all weather, he can confirm his present mark a workable one. Moving Light is very lightly raced for a 6-y-o but it's interesting connections have kept the faith and he's worth a look back from a break. Savvy Knight back on polytrack and Neandra are others to consider.

An open race in which vote goes to EDUCATOR, who was a good third when stepped back up to 1m4f at Doncaster last week.

LTO Selection:

20:30 Curragh NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The standard is set by EXTRAPOLATION, who reverts to the Flat following a creditable second over timber at Punchestown. The gelded son of Mahler saw off a full-brother to dual Cheltenham Festival winner Presenting Percy - the Gordon Elliott-trained Valsorpresa - in emphatic style at Downpatrick on his penultimate run, and a 7lb penalty for that success may not be enough to hold him back here. Bumble Bee Bet appears to be his most serious danger following a staying-on success at Ayr in April, while Lionnar adds further spice to the race.

No surprise were previous winners BUMBLE BEE BET and Extrapolation to come to the fore here, with marginal preference for the Charles Byrnes-trained runner given he arguably possesses more scope on this just his second start. Lionnar is the other one of interest.

Point/bumper winner EXTRAPOLATION is more battle-hardened than his market rivals and yet he's steadily progressive by the looks.

LTO Selection:

20:45 Ripon Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BIRKENHEAD is competitively weighted and can hold sway over old rivals, Albegone (seventh) and Soul Seeker (thirteenth), who were both behind the selection when he won off this mark at York last summer. Having already proven he still has lots to offer by going in again on the all-weather on his penultimate start, the Paul Midgley-trained gelding looks the one to be with here. Mereside Angel and Caribbean Sunset both have scope and are feared most.

A previous C&D winner, MERESIDE ANGEL proved no match for an improver at Musselburgh 23 days ago yet he was nicely on top of the remainder, and from an unchanged mark it would come as no surprise to see him go close. Albegone arrives on a handy mark and should be sharper for his Carlisle reappearance. Birkenhead, for the stable who won this race 12 months ago, completes the shortlist.

A small but competitive field where ALBEGONE is well treated on last year's third in this race and this could fall to him.

LTO Selection:

21:00 Kempton Handicap (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The progressive KALAMITY KITTY recorded a career-best performance when completing a hat-trick at Nottingham last May and a 5lb rise may not prevent a five-timer if resuming in the same heart. Havaila is only 1lb higher for his runner-up effort at Goodwood last month and shouldn't be far away if running to a similar level on this polytrack debut. Last-time-out winner Spit Spot arrives in good form and could find further improvement now stepped up to 2m.

SPIT SPOT opened her account at the second attempt for her current stable at Chelmsford recently and, up in trip, she's worth a chance to follow up with more progress on the cards. Havaila ran well at Goodwood a month ago, so he looks the main threat ahead of Wholeofthemoon.

Kalamity Kitty remains of interest despite the absence but SPIT SPOT (nap) is taken to continue her progress in staying events.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
