Courtland

1/1(+20%)
(3) Courtland 1/1, Took well to chasing with Ffos Las and Newton Abbot win in summer 2021. Well below par in 4 starts last season but took advantage of reduced mark with plenty in hand over C&D last month and remains well treated up 6 lb.

Bagheera Ginge

8/1(-45%)
(1) Bagheera Ginge 8/1, Steadily progressive over hurdles last term, scoring at Stratford and Newton Abbot. Shaped as if amiss sent chasing at Kempton but would have been a clear second had he completed at Newton Abbot 2 weeks ago. Player if none the worse.

LTO Selection:

13:35 Worcester Handicap Chase (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

An impressive winner over course and distance last month, the Peter Bowen-trained COURTLAND appears to have been handed a decent opportunity to follow up from 6lb higher. Herewegohoney merits consideration following her recent Stratford second, especially with first-time cheekpieces being a potential source of improvement. Friary Rock can chase the pair home ahead of Somekindofstar, while Bagheera Ginge needs more to be involved.

COURTLAND took advantage of his reduced mark over C&D last month and the manner of that success suggests he can defy a 6 lb rise. Friary Rock has made a good start to the season so is feared most.

With cheekpieces on for the first time, HEREWEGOHONEY could prove the answer.

LTO Selection:

13:50 Hamilton Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

LOCHNAVER returned to form when collared late on in second here last Wednesday and Jim Goldie's mare, who is a dual course winner at this venue, looks the one to beat off 1lb lower. Buford ran one of his better races with a second-placed finish over C&D earlier in the month and rates as the chief threat off the same mark. Persuer may have been freshened up by a change of scenery and is another to note now trained by Keith Dalgleish.

Amie Waugh gave LOCHNAVER an excellent ride when runner-up here a week ago and, if she gets another easy lead, she should be hard to pass. Buford is in good order, so he's considered despite his quirks and Yakhabar is of interest in first-time blinkers.

Lochnaver is an obvious candidate, but a chance is taken on the interesting and lowly rated stable debutante PERSUER.

14:10 Worcester Handicap Chase (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TOM O'ROUGHLEY was well in contention when unseating his rider at Ffos Las 13 days ago. The son of Yeats had notched up two wins from his last three prior to that, though, and it would be no surprise were he to make an immediate return to form. Dindin continues to run well so he must enter the reckoning, while recent wind surgery could spark an improved showing from Oceans Red.

OCEANS RED wasn't seen to best effect when fifth at Bangor last time out and this three-time scorer over fences is worth siding with to resume winning ways on the back of breathing surgery. Dindin is a reliable sort and seems sure to have a say, with C&D winner Tom O'Roughley another to consider in an open handicap.

Although yet to be placed, DEADLY MISSILE showed just enough on his chasing debut to be worth chancing.

14:20 Hamilton Stakes (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SANKARI has posted two creditable efforts in defeat since gaining a breakthrough success at Thirsk in May and the introduction of Brandon Wilkie's 7lb claim could see a return to winning ways for John Quinn's colt. Alfa Moonstone didn't appear to be up to class 2 level at Beverley recently but better is expected in these calmer waters. She could emerge as the main danger, ahead of fellow fillies Dear Mary and Lady Showcasing.

Those with experience don't set the bar very high, so it might be worth taking a chance on INDICATION SPIRIT to make a successful start given that she represents shrewd connections. I'm Spartacus is another notable newcomer and Sankari is likely to be involved.

Tim Easterby's Cable Bay filly DEAR MARY took a big step forward when fourth at Carlisle and can improve again to open her account here

14:30 Ascot Group 2 (Class 1) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Karl Burke landed last year's renewal with Dramatised and BEAUTIFUL DIAMOND must be strongly respected as he bids to give his trainer back-to-back successes in the race. An impressive winner on her racecourse debut at Nottingham earlier this month, the 360,000-pound purchase has plenty of scope for progression judging by her strong finish in that contest. With seven of the last 10 winners being drawn in stall 16 or higher, the fact the selection matches her stablemate's draw from last year (17) makes her of significant interest and she rates the one to beat. Got To Love A Grey made it 2-2 when landing a Listed contest last month and she looks a big threat to the selection, while Born To Rock and Bundchen are just two others with claims in a fiercely-competitive sprint.

Plenty of potential as expected for a 2-y-o event at Royal Ascot but Karl Burke won this last year with Dramatised and BEAUTIFUL DIAMOND could be another potential star for the stable given the way she powered clear in a Nottingham maiden 2 weeks ago. Relief Rally made it 2 from 2 in good style at Salisbury so is high on the shortlist, while Born To Rock's easy debut success at Yarmouth is backed up by the clock.

From what is probably a favourable draw, it could pay to chance CRIMSON ADVOCATE who looked the real deal at Gulfstream.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Warren Greatrex has done well in these types of contests over the years and though his representative STORM RYDER sports a hood ahead of this debut, he gets the nod. A half-brother to five winners, most notably Brewin'upastorm, he should possess the ability to play a leading role. Debut winner Jeudidee can mount another stern challenge, while Footloose Man is also noted.

JEUDIDEE had a bit in hand when justifying strong support at Warwick 3 weeks ago and on that evidence, he may well be capable of defying a penalty. Junior des Mottes is dangerous if he can reproduce his Irish form for his new yard, with Olivers Travels another to consider on Rules debut.

If JUNIOR DES MOTTES can show a large chunk on his Irish form, he will be prove to beat.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ALGHALIB offered something to work with when finishing fourth on his debut over 5f at Ripon earlier in the month and the son of No Nay Never could gain a breakthrough success now faced with a sterner stamina test. Sayidh Kingman shaped better than the beaten distance in a deeper event at York last month and enters calculations on this drop into a class 4 contest, while That's For Sure makes most appeal of the newcomers.

CERULEAN BAY is related to a plethora of winners and should have plenty of speed, so he gets the vote to make a successful debut. That's For Sure is another notable newcomer and Alghalib should improve from his debut, so he's also worthy of consideration.

Having run creditably on his Ripon debut, ALGHALIB is preferred to Karl Burke's newcomer That's For Sure.

Crystal Caprice didn't appear to quite get home over 1m2f at Ayr on her latest start and she would have made plenty of appeal here, barring a very wide draw in stall 20. Similar comments apply to recent Kempton scorer Tamarama, who will undoubtedly prove popular with Frankie Dettori keeping the ride, but the vote goes to YERWANTHERE. She lost her unbeaten record when getting no luck in running at Naas in Listed company last month and she appears capable of further progression back up at a mile. Tarrabb scored here over 7f last summer and may benefit from a first-time tongue-tie, while others worthy of consideration include Lady Eros, One Morning and Discretion.

Unsurprisingly plenty arrive with claims, including LADY EROS who looked well served by the drop back to 1m when seeing off a next-time-out winner at Yarmouth 3 weeks ago and, with the likelihood of more to come for her powerful yard, she's expected to go well again partnered by Oisin Murphy. Farhh To Shy impressed with the manner in which she travelled when scoring on the straight course here in May and shouldn't be underestimated. Adelaise and Yerwanthere complete the shortlist.

Joseph O'Brien's YERWANTHERE was a lot better than the result in a Listed race on her reappearance and can show she's on a good mark.

LTO Selection:

15:20 Worcester Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

COOLNAUGH HAZE has been consistent since he joined Philip Hobbs and he has to be a leading player off the same mark as his recent second at Newton Abbot. Previous C&D winner Dasher Riley also has the scope to improve and is feared most back over this trip after fading over 2m4f at Southwell earlier in the month, while Sea The Clouds is respected but has something to find with selection based on recent Warwick form.

An open-looking handicap so at the likely odds it is worth siding with BOMBYX to build on his good Ludlow fifth and capitalise on an attractive mark. Hiconic justified good support at Warwick last time so rates an obvious threat, while Sea The Clouds is also weighted to have a say on the back of an encouraging Warwick fourth.

Back at 2m and at a course where he gained his two previous wins, DASHER RILEY (nap) is given the verdict in a competitive contest.

LTO Selection:

15:30 Hamilton Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DERWENT BOY ran with credit to finish fourth on his handicap debut at Newcastle when returning from a break in May and the son of Harry Angel is entitled to step forward from that display. Iris Dancer (second) finished ahead of Elladora (fourth) when the pair met here last Wednesday and the former is expected to uphold that form, especially being 1lb better off with that rival on this occasion.

CAPTAIN VALLO is just 2 lb above his last winning mark and arrives on the back of an encouraging return at Thirsk earlier this month. He makes plenty of appeal. Iris Dancer and Derwent Boy rate the principal dangers.

There was plenty to like about the reappearance Thirsk third of CAPTAIN VALLO (nap) so this C&D scorer looks the way to go.

LTO Selection:

15:40 Ascot Group 2 (Class 1) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

PROSPEROUS VOYAGE came from a long way back to land the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom earlier in the month and holds leading claims on this rise in class. Ralph Beckett's filly is narrowly preferred to Jumbly, who offered plenty to work with when runner-up in the Group 2 Lanwades Stud Stakes at the Curragh on her stable/seasonal debut last month. The Gosdens boast a fine record in this contest in recent years and their sole representative Grande Dame merits respect as she aims to give the stable a third win in the past four years. The progressive Rogue Millennium would make more appeal over further, but the daughter of Dubawi can't be discounted.

JUMBLY is very much bred to progress with age, and having won in Group company on the round course here last term, she's taken to build on a highly encouraging return at the Curragh and come out on top. Prosperous Voyage was back to winning ways at Epsom last time and sets a very high standard on the form of last season's Falmouth win, whilst Grande Dame appeals as another who can have a productive season and is given plenty of respect on her return.

The vote goes to PROSPEROUS VOYAGE, who was a Group 1 winner last summer and looked back on song when scoring at Epsom 18 days ago.

LTO Selection:

15:55 Worcester Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Nicky Henderson has been patient with LIGHTFOOT LADY since she made a winning start to her career by comfortably landing a Stratford bumper last March. She is a half-sister to another bumper winner, as well as hurdles/chase winner Truckers Hall, and can be assured to have been highly primed for this next phase of her development. Manimole has shown some ability over hurdles and, along with the unexposed Teeceethree, she can make this a good test for the selection.

Those with hurdle experience don't set the bar that high so perhaps Fergal O'Brien can take this for the second year running courtesy of last month's Fontwell bumper winner MAYS HILL. Nicky Henderson's Lightfoot Lady has been off for over a year since her bumper debut win but would rate a big threat if the market vibes are strong now hurdling. Manimole looks best of the rest.

Despite a lack of experience and an absence, LIGHTFOOT LADY is still selected.

16:20 Ascot Group 1 (Class 1) 10f Race Class Flow

A high-quality renewal with the majority of the key players standing their ground. Luxembourg improved plenty from his first run of the season when getting the better of Bay Bridge in the Tattersalls Gold Cup under an excellent front-running ride from Ryan Moore. He may not need to repeat those tactics on this occasion, with the potential of the American challenger Classic Causeway going forward, but the slight concern has to be whether fast ground will see him to best effect. Similar comments apply to Bay Bridge, whose best performance came over C&D in softer conditions in the Champion Stakes, beating Adayar (second) and MY PROSPERO (third). There is every chance that the latter, who wasn't disgraced when fourth in the Lockinge at Newbury, may have more to offer back up in distance and has shown his versatility regarding ground following his third in the St James's Palace here last year. Mostahdaf completes the line-up and is no back number based on his impressive Saudi Arabia performance in February.

A high-class renewal, with preference for LUXEMBOURG to provide Aidan O'Brien with a fifth victory in the contest. The 4-y-o ran to a similar level as when winning the Irish Champion with a determined success in the Tattersalls Gold Cup last month, so he is taken to get the better of the 2021 Derby/King George winner Adayar. My Prospero is also respected with more to offer back up in trip.

Last season's Champion Stakes winner BAY BRIDGE is taken to post his second Group 1 C&D win, with Luxembourg feared most.

16:30 Worcester Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Choirmaster sets the standard of those who have been racing in handicap company of late and can't be dismissed in a weak-looking affair. However, it may pay to take a chance on DEAL EM HIGH, whose opening mark of 83 could prove on the lenient side. Debra Hamer's gelding ran his best race to date when ridden more positively in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las last month and could improve on that runner-up effort to succeed here. Three Macks also makes her first foray into this sphere and completes the shortilist.

CHOIRMASTER has made a solid start in handicap hurdles and remains with plenty of scope for better based on Flat form, so he's preferred to bumper winner Deal Em High, who produced his best effort in this sphere when second in a novice at Ffos Las 25 days ago. Land of My Delight is also of interest.

Not disgraced when seventh on her handicap debut, \bENERGY TWO\;p might prove the answer.

16:40 Hamilton Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GONE scooted clear of her rivals when making all at Bath four days ago and Charlie Johnston's progressive three-year-old, who arrives in search of a four-timer, is hard to oppose under a 6lb penalty provided this doesn't come soon enough. Cosa Sara landed this race 12 months ago from a 4lb lower mark and she merits respect, while Ribchester filly Powdering warrants a market check ahead of this return to action.

GONE arrives at the top of her game and a 6 lb penalty may not be enough to prevent her extending her winning run. Cosa Sara may provide the chief threat.

Charlie Johnston's GONE has gone from strength to strength this term and can complete a four-timer under a 6lb penalty for her Bath win

17:00 Ascot Handicap (Class 2) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

A high-quality renewal and, while the likes Reach For The Moon and Positive are both tempting for each-way players, history is against them in terms of weight-carrying performances, as no winner of this contest has carried more than 9st-5lb in the last 20 years. However, one that ideally fits the bill is GHALY, who is relatively unexposed and is competitively weighted for one so high in the ratings. The trip and ground are ideal and, with Oisin Murphy in the saddle, he has an awful lot going for him as a fresh horse on his seasonal debut. Perotto has dropped to an attractive mark and is feared most, while Tempus and Astro King, who were third and fourth respectively in this last year, also command respect.

As usual, stacks with chances but PEROTTO is simply too well handicapped to ignore. He offered enough when keeping on for seventh in the Victoria Cup over 7f here last month to think new trainer Roger Varian has him in form and he's 3 lb lower than when landing the Britannia at this meeting in 2021. Astro King shaped well on his reappearance for his new stable at York last month and has twice reached the frame in this so he's second choice. Ghaly, Bless Him and Awaal also make the shortlist.

With a rock-solid profile, Irish raider DUNUM (nap) is particularly appealing. Ghaly is second choice, ahead of Blue For You.

KAPITALISTE posted one of his better efforts when finishing third at Newton Abbot in late-May and a 1lb rise may not prevent the seven-year-old from gaining a first success of the season. Never No Trouble arrives in good heart and is feared most with useful conditional William Maggs now onboard to take 7lb off her back. Haveyougotmymoney has often shaped as if this step up to 2m4f could bring about some improvement and also warrants consideration.

NEVER NO TROUBLE has been a model of consistency in this sphere and looks the safest option in a tricky finale. Kapitaliste and Valentine Getaway head the list of dangers,

One with some potential is STILETTO, who moves up in trip after launching his hurdling career with two encouraging runs this spring.

17:15 Hamilton Stakes (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having struck over an extended mile here on his penultimate outing, OUR DICKIE's stamina appeared to be stretched over 1m2f at Redcar 23 days ago. Down in both trip and class today, he's favoured by the weights and might find further improvement for the addition of first-time blinkers. Royal Countess can have a say, while recent Ayr scorer Retirement Beckons should not be underestimated either.

OUR DICKIE disappointed at Redcar last time but he's the one to beat if able reproduce the form of his win at this track the time before. Retirement Beckons is a multiple winner here over the years and arrives on the back of victory at Ayr last week, so is the obvious threat. Royal Countess is best of the others.

The suggestion is MAC AILEY, who usually goes well here. Retirement Beckons and Our Dickie are also shortlisted.

17:19 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Habanero Star is 2lb above her last winning mark and the daughter of Mayson would be dangerous to dismiss based on that, but QUOTELINE DIRECT gets the vote. Micky Hammond's inmate has been running with credit in recent months and finished a length and a quarter back in second over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton in March. Braes Of Doune was only narrowly denied at Ayr last week and is another to consider on his all-weather debut.

A tricky opener to solve but BRAES OF DOUNE is selected to go one better than at Ayr last week having taken his time to hit top stride. This step back up in trip looks a wise move, and he can get the better of Marcello Si, who made an encouraging return when runner-up over C&D last month. Sun Festival is declared at Beverley on Tuesday and Joseph Parr's 5-y-o would be one to look out for if taking his chance.

An open race in which QUOTELINE DIRECT gets the vote ahead of last week's Ayr runner-up Braes Of Doune.

17:20 Wexford Maiden Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

This looks a good opportunity for Gordon Elliott's THE LAST MARDI. Since winning a couple of bumpers at Ballinrobe and Down Royal, he has been placed in two of his three maiden hurdles. This doesn't look a strong contest at all. Starman was beaten into fifth at Downpatrick at Sunday, but that was a decent race. He has a runner-up berth in a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle in his locker. U Asking Me showed marked improvement in his fourth outing in a point-to-point to win at Tyrella in January. Although this is a very different trip, he could build upon that on his track debut.

THE LAST MARDI won a couple of bumpers and has shown enough over hurdles to think he can open his account in a race like this. Starman looks the chief threat on form and point winner U Asking Me can't be ruled out.

Without much depth in this, THE LAST MARDI looks rock solid arriving on the back of a career best and he sets a solid standard

17:26 Ripon Maiden (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

INDISPENSABLE's second-placed finish at Goodwood is working out better than expected, with both the third and fourth winning next time out, and a breakthrough success could be on the cards now dropped into a class 5 event. There were positives to be gleaned from Full Gambit's debut third at Catterick earlier in the month and Amy Murphy's filly looks most likely to chase the selection home, marginally ahead of Specific Times.

INDISPENSABLE failed to build on her encouraging debut effort as expected when runner-up over 6f at Goodwood last month but that was still a solid enough display and a repeat may well be enough to see her off the mark at the third attempt now returned to the minimum trip. Full Gambit was getting the hang of things late on when third on debut at Catterick 3 weeks ago and can figure with progress likely. Ziggy's Queen and Specific Times complete the shortlist.

Ziggy's Queen is open to considerable improvement but she'll need it to lower the colours of standard-setting INDISPENSABLE.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Aidan O'Brien has landed five of the last 10 renewals of this contest, most recently with Santiago in 2020. Therefore, it could be worth siding with his sole representative, PEKING OPERA, who secured a staying-on success in Listed company over 1m5f last month and has scope for further progress after only three starts. Gregory remains unbeaten following a comfortable victory over 1m3f at Goodwood last month and a longer trip looks worth exploring for him given his dam won a Group 2 over an extended 1m6f during her career. St Vincents Garden is another with claims, especially as William Buick has opted to ride the son of Camelot over the Godolphin-owned Chesspiece, but he was beaten two and a quarter lengths by the selection on his penultimate run.

GREGORY has made a big impression on both starts to date and he's the sort to relish the extra distance, so he's an obvious choice to maintain his unbeaten record. Circle of Fire did well to get third from an unpromising position in the Derby Trial at Lingfield, so he's feared, while Peking Opera strikes as the best of the Irish challengers.

Goodwood Listed winner Gregory is a very bright prospect, but preference is for ST VINCENTS GARDEN who has untapped potential.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

RAYAT forced a dead-heat when running on well on his racecourse debut over an extended mile at Wolverhampton in April. He has to shoulder a 7lb penalty for that success, but Sean Kirrane negates some of that rise with his 3lb claim and the gelded son of Starspangledbanner must command respect with that in mind. He is fancied to get the better of fellow last-time-out winner Bear On The Loose, who receives a handy weight-for-age allowance and should not be dismissed. Mambo Sunset adds further spice to the race.

Cases can be made for a few of these but sole filly in the line-up MAMBO SUNSET is selected to get off the mark second time up after making an encouraging start to her career when third in a Carlisle maiden just under 3 weeks ago. Bear On The Loose improved to get off the mark switched to turf at Yarmouth in April, so he may emerge as the main danger, ahead of Rayat, who shared the spoils on debut and seems sure to improve with that under his belt.

An interesting race in which MAMBO SUNSET gets the vote ahead of the penalised pair Rayat and Bear On The Loose.

17:55 Wexford Maiden Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

They were strong maiden hurdles that BOWMORE finished fourth and fifth in at Cork and Leopardstown respectively towards the end of last year. They were also big fields and he showed up well for a long way. He could improve for better ground here. Atreides wasn't beaten far into third on hurdling debut in Down Royal at the start of the month. That effort certainly gives him claims. Dark Note has been placed in his last two hurdle races and had a subsequent winner behind him in Tramore. Noble Blue and Johnny M are capable of making their presence felt.

BOWMORE rates the pick on the form of his excellent fifth in a big-field Leopardstown novice and with further progress on the cards Henry de Bromhead's promising 5-y-o gets the nod. Tramore third Dark Note also has the form to have a say and is next on the list, with Privilege and Johnny M appealing as the pick of the remainder for place purposes.

Preference is for DARK NOTE who seems to be improving and any further progress could make him hard to beat

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BONDI BAY caught the eye when staying on into second place on her opening bid at Salisbury last month and could prove tough to beat with that experience now under her belt. Bright finished behind two subsequent winners when third at Wolverhampton in May and isn't one to take lightly now stepped up to 6f on this switch to turf. Moralisa requires some improvement to topple the main protagonists but still makes most appeal of the remainder.

Likely this will develop into a straight fight between BONDI BAY and Bright, with a narrow preference for the former after her promising opening effort at Salisbury.

Rae Guest's filly BONDI BAY did well to finish second on her debut at Salisbury and will be hard to beat if she can build on that run.

18:10 Ascot Listed (Class 1) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Aidan O'Brien has won three of the last eight renewals and his best chance of further success appears to rest with Johannes Brahms, who showed a willing attitude when making a winning debut over 6f at Navan last month. However, MAXIMUM IMPACT took his career tally to 2-2 when landing a conditions stakes here 49 days ago and that experience of this course may give him a vital edge with a first-time tongue-tie tried today. Barnwell Boy, who made all on debut at Goodwood last month, also enters calculations given that form has already been franked.

This has a very open feel to it, with JOHANNES BRAHMS just about the most appealing candidate for his powerful connections. The Naas race he won hasn't worked out brilliantly, but he overcame inexperience on that occasion and is sure to know more this time. Maximum Impact is just about the form pick but the application of a tongue tie on this unbeaten colt is a slight worry, so Barnwell Boy, a taking winner at Goodwood, is feared most. Supersonic Man might be the pick of those at longer odds.

Preference is for WORLD OF DARCY who was slammed by a smart stablemate in a Listed race at Sandown last time but still ran very well.

18:20 Newcastle Stakes (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Even though Quantum Leap hasn't been seen since scoring on his racecourse debut at Southwell last November, he is very well-related and his dam is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Cutlass Bay, so there is likely more to come from him. However, THEATRE HONOURS has filled the runner-up spot on both career starts and Charlie Appleby's inmate is taken to benefit from stepping up in trip. The class-dropping Medieval Gold is another of interest.

Runner-up on both previous outings, Godolphin's THEATRE HONOURS has shown a level of form which typically would be good enough to win a race of this nature and despite looking a shade awkward under pressure last time, he's taken to go one better and get off the mark. Quantum Leap impressed on the clock when making a winning debut last year and is highly respected after an absence, whilst Medieval Gold is surely better than he was able to show at Chester.

This can go to THEATRE HONOURS who sets a useful standard on his two runner-up efforts and is open to progress on this step up in trip.

LTO Selection:

18:25 Wexford Maiden Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

PINK IN THE PARK appeals in receipt of the mares' allowance. She was more than useful in bumpers and won her first hurdle race when last seen in Cork. It is worth noting that on her penultimate start she was third in a Grade 1 mares' novices' hurdle at Fairyhouse, so she looks attractively weighted with Kieran Callaghan claiming 7lb. Barry Lyndon must have a fair engine as he won a Punchestown maiden hurdle on debut without jumping particularly well. He is a contender. Ossifer Hops is in good form and will be hunting a cheque. Pro Bono and Valleyoftheeagles are others with chances.

Quite a useful novice in which PINK IN THE PARK, who was placed in a Fairyhouse Grade 1 before landing a Cork maiden, is taken to prove too strong for Barry Lyndon and Gordon Elliott's Ossifer Hops.

LTO Selection:

18:35 Ripon Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bloomwithgrace ran to a similar level as his seasonal debut when runner-up in a fillies' novice at Goodwood recently and may find a 2lb rise on this return to handicap company leaves her vulnerable. Although Tom Dascombe's charge still enters calculations, KHINJANI makes most appeal. The daughter of Sir Percy offered something to work with when staying on into third on her return to action at Redcar last month, while handicap debutant Anjo Bonita arrives in good heart and completes the shortlist.

KHINJANI was noted doing her best work at the finish when third behind a similarly unexposed pair on return/handicap debut at Redcar 3 weeks ago and, with further progress in the offing, she could well be the answer. Bloomwithgrace, now stepped up in trip, and Dungar Glory are others fancied to be in the mix.

Khinjani still has more to come but ANJO BONITA may be able to get off the mark now her attentions are switched to handicaps.

LTO Selection:

18:50 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Sagauteur is noteworthy returning for a new yard off 3lb lower than his last winning mark, while support for Vitralite would be compelling, given he has held his form since returning to the UK (from Hong Kong) and is worth a try over this new trip. However, this could be a good time to catch BASHFUL, who has more proven stamina than most and has potential for further progression on his first start back after a wind operation.

A tight-knit handicap in which in-form VITRALITE rates just the pick at the weights and is fancied to bag a third success of 2023. Cavalluccio wasn't seen to best effect when fourth at Lingfield last time and rates the chief threat, although Flag of Truth and Irish Flame can't be ruled out either.

It may be worth taking a chance with SAGAUTEUR who has won fresh before and is lower in the weights than for both wins last year.

LTO Selection:

18:58 Wexford Maiden Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

NOTKEEPINYAGOING is of interest on hurdling debut. After winning her point-to-point, she switched to John McConnell and hacked up by 13 lengths in a mares' bumper at Galway last September. It shows the regard she is held in that she returned in April to contest a Grade 2 mares' bumper at Aintree. She finished out the back, but is sure to be well schooled for this discipline. The form of Cullagh Pride's third place in a mares' maiden hurdle at Limerick in May received a major boost when the winner followed up by 41 lengths at Kilbeggan on Monday evening. Mousey Brown landed a bumper at this track in May and the third home has since delivered to frank the form. On penultimate start, she took fourth over flights at Killarney and can improve upon that. Miss Fourie is coming off a long break, but has the ability to get in the mix on her first start for Peter Fahey. Apples In Winter is another with claims.

Those with hurdle experience don't set the bar that high so it may pay to focus on bumper winners KISS MY LUCKY EGG and Notkeepingyagoing, with a narrow preference for the former. Apples In Winter and Miss Fourie are others who should get involved.

Galway bumper winner NOTKEEPINYAGOING never showed in a Grade 2 contest at Aintree but may be hard to beat on hurdling debut

ANOTHER BAAR arrives in search of a hat-trick of victories having defied a 10lb rise for an impressive C&D success at Beverley last Sunday. He carries a 6lb penalty for that latest victory and may prove to be a tough nut to crack. Mutaany is worth another chance following a below-par effort at Newmarket in a contest that has worked out well, while others to consider include Tribal Hunter and Rock Of England.

ROCK OF ENGLAND confirmed the promise of his previous run when an easy winner at Hamilton last week and has obvious claims under a penalty. Mutaany had excuses at Newmarket and remains of interest, with hat-trick seeking Another Baar best of the others.

Rock Of England won well at Hamilton last week but he's up against another thriving rival in ANOTHER BAAR this time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Kylian is one to keep tabs on as he develops, while similar applies to Moonstone Boy, who has been consistent in his three previous outings and is certainly going the right way. However, Roger Varian introduces a highly appealing newcomer in the shape of BLUE FORCE, who went for 220,000 pounds at Goffs UK Breeze-Up in April and is taken to make a winning start to his career.

BLUE PRINCE made a highly encouraging debut when a strong-finishing fifth at Musselburgh and with lots of improvement on the cards Richard Fahey's Blue Point colt looks the way to go. Newcomers Nariko and Blue Force are both in very good hands and catch the eye on paper so merit lots of respect, especially if the market vibes are positive.

This selection is KYLIAN, who ran well in defeat on his first two starts, but he's certainly not the only appealing option.

LTO Selection:

19:28 Wexford Handicap Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ATIMETODREAM ran well on Limerick handicap debut and might progress from the run, which was her first for 145 days. Third to subsequent Grade 1 winner Irish Point last November in a race from which the sixth and ninth-horses subsequently won, she is proven at this distance, is ground-versatile and well-bred. Feet Of A Dancer, out of a flat Listed-placed dam, won a course maiden hurdle in March, from which the third and fifth-horses both subsequently won. She should compete but takes on older horses on handicap debut on reappearance. Recent course winner Away To Milan is 8lb higher today and while he steps up in distance, can get involved. Hidalgo Des Mottes also steps up in distance and ran well in two recent handicaps. Flat winner Rock On Pedro ran well on handicap debut and is somewhat unexposed over hurdles. Jump The Shark lacks a recent run while 13 year old Hurricane Darwin won his previous hurdle race last September. Reserves Inforapenny, Our Bobby and Kingston each has recent form.

ATIMETODREAM showed improved form and found only a thriving sort too strong on handicap debut at Limerick (19f) 26 days ago, running on late. This slightly longer trip promises to suit and she can go one place better. This is competitive however, with Jump The Shark, Rock On Pedro and Away To Milan heading up the dangers.

Joanna Walton's mount ATIMETODREAM is tipped to step up a place following her second on handicap debut at Limerick.

LTO Selection:

19:40 Ripon Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ZIMMERMAN has produced two solid efforts in defeat this season, with a runner-up effort at Thirsk backed up with a fourth at Hamilton, and the four-year-old appears to have been found a suitable opportunity to get back to winning ways. Knightswood won here on his penultimate start and commands respect, while Auld Toon Loon could have more to offer having got off the mark at Haydock last time.

A tight handicap in which a chance is taken on first-time cheekpieces giving ARRANGE a bit extra. Knightswood returns to the scene of his win at the start of the month and is second choice ahead of Captain Kane, who should benefit from the return to 1½m.

C&D winner CAPTAIN KANE kept on for a good fourth of six behind Auld Toon Loon over 1m2f 11 days ago and can come out on top.

Bonne Vitesse was good value for the winning margin at Ripon last month and is respected off just 4lb higher. However, her previous all-weather form leaves a little to be desired and she is taken on with EAST END GIRL, who was victorious on her last visit to this track. As is the case with the selection, Big Cheese has the scope to improve in first-time cheekpieces and is also feared.

All of the quartet can be given a chance but BONNE VITESSE had a little up her sleeve when going in at Ripon last time out and can follow up at the chief expense of the in-form Highlighter.

Likely turned out too quickly last time, BIG CHEESE can bounce back on this 2m/Tapeta debut at the expense of Bonne Vitesse.

19:58 Wexford Handicap Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

WHATSYOURSTATUS was a well-backed winner from rated 106 over fences recently and while he requires a sound surface, little rain is forecast and looks well treated reverting to hurdles. Capable on his day, a reproduction of his Clonmel win would give him every chance over a suitable staying distance. More Info is ground-versatile and suited by staying distances. She is 7lb higher than when winning at Kilbeggan but should give the selection a race. Five-time winner Gotthenod was second here last month (Cocoplum finished fourth) but her rating has crept back up 2lb and today's rider claims 2lb less. Florey Spud is a 16-race maiden but goes well on good ground and wasn't beaten far at Sligo recently. Dinoland showed some improvement in an ordinary maiden recently.

WHATSYOURSTATUS isn't the most consistent, but he scored over fences 12 days ago and is 4 lb lower back over hurdles. More Info and Gotthenod are others to consider.

WHATSYOURSTATUS got his head back in front over fences last time and is well handicapped from his lower hurdle mark

LTO Selection:

20:10 Ripon Stakes (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

AZAIM finished a creditable third over this trip at Carlisle earlier this month and Michael Dods' inmate must hold every chance of being in the mix now in classified stakes company. He shaped as if further progression could be on the cards and is fancied to get the better of Zebadaay, who finished a fair fifth, also at Carlisle, on his most recent run. Bedazzling completes the shortlist,

Hard to make a compelling case for any of these and GINATO is hardly a winning machine, but this does represent a drop in class. Flavius Titus should be spot on fitness-wise and he's a threat, along with Gullane One.

A few possible revivers but GULLANE ONE has conditions to suit and is marginally preferred to Azaim.

LTO Selection:

20:20 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SQUEEZEBOX proved well suited by a step up in trip when winning at Yarmouth last Wednesday. Michael Appleby's gelding, who escapes a penalty for that success, remains open to further progress and might be capable of following up if handling the switch to synthetics. Old News shaped with promise on his return from a short break and would have to enter calculations from 5lb below his last winning mark, while Inexplicable appeals most of the remainder.

Little to choose between the principals here but INEXPLICABLE is taken to bag a second success of 2023 now he is easing in the weights. Course winner Bold Territories must enter calculations too, while recent Yarmouth scorer Squeezebox also needs factoring into this competitive handicap.

Unexposed at 1m, last-time Yarmouth winner SQUEEZEBOX (nap) is hard to oppose off the same mark. Bold Territories is second choice.

LTO Selection:

20:28 Wexford NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

There was nothing exciting about BARONS REVENGE's debut but he is well bred and, crucially, represents a yard in unstoppable form. Out of a bumper/hurdle winning half-sister to his trainer's Irish Gold Cup winner Kempes and from Harzand's first crop, he was second-string and tongue-tied for Punchestown festival debut and faded tamely. However it is notable connections are persevering with another bumper which suggests he has improved. Down Around stayed well when finishing second over 2m4f here last month and while his overall profile is useful, was himself soundly enough beaten (by six lengths) in a Punchestown festival bumper and remains vulnerable to progressive types. Point-to-point winner Barton Snow ran well in a Tramore bumper recently (Royal Moon was third and Walmix stayed on for a never-nearer fourth) and has claims but is also vulnerable to unexposed horses. Second reserve Master Splinter is a dual point-to-point winner and has some useful recent hurdles form.

DOWN AROUND has garnered plenty of experience in bumpers and judged on his last couple of runs, he's ready to win in this sphere. Barton Snow and Royal Moon are threats but it wouldn't come as a major surprise were Barons Revenge to show much-improved form and give the selection most to think about.

This can go the way of BARTON SNOW who was only narrowly denied at Tramore last time in a race where the front two pulled clear

LTO Selection:

20:40 Ripon Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Only denied by three-quarters of a length when finishing third at Southwell on his most recent run, Primo rates a big player on the pick of his form. However, a 2lb drop from CANARIA PRINCE's latest outing could be what it takes for him to progress and Tim Easterby's five-year-old rates the one to beat. Golden Gal and Hot Scoop are others worthy of consideration.

This could be a reasonable race for the grade with several of these lurking on a dangerous mark. None more so than, HOT SCOOP, who would have finished even closer at Nottingham last week with a clear run. Canaria Prince and Golden Gal are a couple of threats.

Although he's yet to win this year, CANARIA PRINCE (nap) has been threatening and his latest Thirsk third can be marked up.

LTO Selection:

20:55 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MACHO PRIDE bumped into an improver when filling the runner-up spot at Hamilton last time and, though Ruth Carr's gelding doesn't have the most inspiring of strike-rates, this looks a good opportunity to go one better. The son of Camacho is fancied to take advantage of a sliding handicap mark and is, perhaps crucially, drawn high. Beast Of Burden should appreciate the return to an artificial surface and is considered, along with Enderman.

With cheekpieces reapplied, ENDERMAN turned in his best performance of the year when runner-up at Nottingham last time and he can build on that effort to get back to winning ways. Heading the list of dangers is last-time-out winner Quercus, while Macho Pride and Kraken Florida also merit consideration.

Down to the trip his dam won nine over (RPR 114), DARKER is worth chancing ahead of Yaahobby and Macho Pride.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
