1st (7) (3/1 +45%)Makinbecon |
3/1(+45%) | (7) Makinbecon 3/1, Scored by 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Newton Abbot penultimate start; ran to form third beaten 3 1/4l off 80 last time, same mark here; tongue-tie first time; effective over 2m3f, acts on good; may be capable of better again judged on point form. Lightly raced and dug deep to win over 2m2f at Newton Abbot (good); probably similar form when third back there off this 5lb higher mark; tongue-tie now added; in the mix.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/3 -48%)Oneinthewell |
10/3(-48%) | (2) Oneinthewell 10/3, Ran to form in first time visor up in trip 22l third in a maiden hurdle at Catterick most recent run; returning from a break; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft and good to soft; may do better dropped in trip. Won a bumper in Ireland; doesn't look that well handicapped on his British form and tried a visor when last seen (cheekpieces did nothing when tried once before); what may help is the drying ground.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/4 -22%)Lakefield Flyer |
11/4(-22%) | (3) Lakefield Flyer 11/4, Returned to form back down in trip landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 9lb higher mark at Stratford last time; effective 2 1/2m, needs sound surface; inconsistent. A third win over fences at Stratford on Tuesday and he's 9lb lower for this return to hurdling (0-9); has to be of interest with trip/ground ideal.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (9/2 +10%)Gone In Sixty |
9/2(+10%) | (6) Gone In Sixty 9/2, Ran to form beaten 1 1/4l off a 2lb lower mark at Southwell last time; effective 2 1/2-2 3/4m; good mark latest on hurdle form, prefers shaper tracks. Only 1-38 but was second at Southwell last time and should encounter a similar scenario here; likely to run well.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (10/1 +75%)Time Was |
10/1(+75%) | (8) Time Was 10/1, Poor run back up in trip well beaten in a handicap hurdle here latest; effective 2 1/2-3m; inconsistent maiden. Consistent in defeat last autumn and winter but has been pulled up (2m4f) and tailed off (2m7f) here this season.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (16/1 -88%)Bannister |
16/1(-88%) | (1) Bannister 16/1, Didn't stay comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time; usually held up; effective 2 1/4m, doesn't get further, acts on good; generally consistent. Without a win since September 2024 and needs to be at full strength to win this back from a break.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (28/1 -56%)Captain Connor |
28/1(-56%) | (5) Captain Connor 28/1, Pulled up in a 4yo hurdle at Kelso latest; cheekpieces first time; returning from a break; effective at 2m on good to soft; likely to want further than 2m over hurdles but needs improvement on handicap debut. Third in a bumper but no worthwhile form as yet over hurdles; however, now goes handicapping after a break and tries cheekpieces; market could be helpful.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (18/1 +0%)William Of York |
18/1(+0%) | (4) William Of York 18/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Southwell latest; enjoys making it; effective 2 1/2m, acts with cut; out of form after lay off but has tumbled down weights. Regressive 10yo who ran no race last time at Southwell when behind Gone In Sixty; hard to trust these days.. |

LAKEFIELD FLYER had plenty in hand when winning over fences at Stratford earlier in the week and the Irish raider is very hard to oppose off a 9lb lower mark now switched to hurdles. Gone In Sixty was second at Southwell last time and could fill the same position on this occasion, while Makinbecon is the clear pick of the remainder.

1st (7) (3/1 +40%)Kalokalo |
3/1(+40%) | (7) Kalokalo 3/1, Scored by a length off a 8lb lower mark at Windsor penultimate start; quickened clear, improved again but kicked on too soon second beaten 2 1/2l off 70 last time, 2lb higher here; effective 8-10f, acts on good to soft and fast ground; progressive, drop back in trip could suit, mark still fair. Has form figures of 2142312 (turf/AW) since handicapping, the wins over 1m and 1m2f; ran well from the front at Nottingham most recently; solid claims back down in trip.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (7/1 -17%)Lightning Glory |
7/1(-17%) | (10) Lightning Glory 7/1, Ran to form just tiring late on up in trip when fourth beaten 7 1/4l in a novice at Lingfield latest; effective 1m-1m2f on AW; improvement likely now handicapping. Bought for 165,000euros at 2yo breeze-up sale (unraced that season); has made the frame in three AW events this year; open to progress in handicaps and warrants respect.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/1 -80%)Lillie Margot |
9/1(-80%) | (6) Lillie Margot 9/1, Quickened clear, idled, improved again landing a handicap by 3/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Nottingham last time; effective 1m on good; progressive, still looks ahead of mark. Has performed well in two races at Nottingham (1m) since switched to handicaps, making all latest; may build on that win and show further progress, provided she takes to AW.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (10/1 -33%)Areti |
10/1(-33%) | (1) Areti 10/1, Improved in first time tongue tie when second beaten 1/2l in a novice at Newmarket (July) latest; effective at 7f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; threat if building on latest now handicapping. Largely consistent having been placed in four of her six starts, including over C&D; has a solid chance on handicap debut, albeit likely needs progress to defy top weight.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (33/1 -50%)Constant Star |
33/1(-50%) | (2) Constant Star 33/1, Never travelled on turf debut well beaten in a handicap at Windsor latest; in good form prior; stays 1m, acts on AW; return to AW a plus but maiden win had knocks. Probably best to forgive her turf effort last time; has shown promise in two AW maidens otherwise, including success at Wolverhampton; still open to further improvement.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (11/1 +8%)Paranjape |
11/1(+8%) | (11) Paranjape 11/1, Forced to switch, returned to form when fourth beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap at Wolverhampton latest; effective 6/7f, acts on AW; inconsistent in short career. Suited by AW but has shown best form over 6f, including a close second at Southwell; modest fourth returned to 7f last time; something to prove over this new trip.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (14) (7/1 +65%)Just A Gambler |
7/1(+65%) | (14) Just A Gambler 7/1, Ran to current form, got racing too early beaten 3l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time; effective 8f, acts on good to soft and AW; more needed based on recent efforts. Suited by AW and looks attractively handicapped, having gained his March win off 2lb higher, but appears more exposed than most of today's rivals; overall record is 1-10.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (14/1 +13%)Decem Starr |
14/1(+13%) | (9) Decem Starr 14/1, Didn't enjoy track down the field in a handicap at Salisbury most recent; in good form prior; top course jockey; effective 7/8f, acts on good and fast ground; good attitude, looks to have reached level. Has broadly encouraging form, including a couple of fourth-place finishes this term; better than bare result last time (met traffic issues, eased once beaten); could go well.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (16/1 -14%)Cliff Danger |
16/1(-14%) | (4) Cliff Danger 16/1, Outpaced, below form back down in trip well beaten in a novice here latest; effective 10f on good to soft; more to come now handicapping. Best novice effort when fourth at Nottingham on penultimate start; from a family that has served his yard well; may be capable of improvement now handicapping.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (14/1 -56%)Picture Palace |
14/1(-56%) | (8) Picture Palace 14/1, Outpaced, never threatened, looked in need of stiffer test beaten 6l in a handicap at Hamilton last time; cheekpieces first time; off a short-break; stays 1m, acts on good to firm and AW; likely more to come again. Has shown promise; never landed a blow last time (handicap debut) but is a half-brother to seven winners and may do better still; possibilities if taking well to first-time headgear.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (5/1 -25%)Alpine Culture |
5/1(-25%) | (5) Alpine Culture 5/1, Ran to form but hit the front too soon beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark at Newbury last time; cheekpieces first time; effective 7/8f on a sound surface; in form, can do better if ridden slightly more conservatively. Broadly consistent having made the frame in four of his five runs, latest at Newbury; chance of getting off the mark partly depends on the effects of first-time headgear.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) (66/1 +47%)Lightening Lad |
66/1(+47%) | (13) Lightening Lad 66/1, Far too free up in trip, didn't stay down the field in a handicap at Redcar most recent; trainer in form; effective at 7f, acts on AW; quite nice type, needs more in handicaps. Promising second at Newcastle (AW) on debut; has regressed in three starts since, beaten long way over 1m2f on turf latest; big turnaround is required.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (22/1 -57%)Sovereign Bay |
22/1(-57%) | (12) Sovereign Bay 22/1, Far too free up in trip, didn't get home beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; tongue-tie first time; effective 1m, acts on good to soft and AW; still early days in handicaps. Shaped well over 1m on handicap debut; seemed a non-stayer over 1m1f since; may improve back down in trip, provided he responds well to new headgear and added tongue-tie.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (3) (25/1 -56%)Pepsea |
25/1(-56%) | (3) Pepsea 25/1, Every chance, ran to form when fourth beaten 3 1/2l in a maiden at Beverley latest; trainer in form; effective 1m on good; in fair form, touch more needed to get off the mark. Has consistent form figures in maiden/novice events on turf but looked wayward last time; remains to be seen whether he can show progress on AW/handicap debut.. |

LILLIE MARGOT was a promising second on her handicap debut at Nottingham in May and readily built on that with a winning return to the same course last month. With further improvement plausible, a 5lb rise should be manageable for the Jedd O'Keeffe-trained filly. The reliable Kalokalo is flexible regarding distance and appeals back over a mile having gone well over C&D in the past. Areti, Lightning Glory and Constant Star are others to note in the betting.

1st (3) (3/1 -9%)Who Wants Me |
3/1(-9%) | (3) Who Wants Me 3/1, Yard won this last year; improved on recent form back up in trip overcoming slow start landing a handicap by a nose off a 4lb lower mark at Carlisle last time; trainer in form; suited by 7f, effective 6f, acts on soft and good; may have bit more to offer now she's had her head in front but drop in trip not ideal. Proved more settled when finally gaining a first win in 7f handicap at Carlisle 11 days ago; up 2lb but not taken lightly in her current mood.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 +36%)Woohoo |
7/2(+36%) | (1) Woohoo 7/2, Yard has won 2 of last 5 runnings of race; scored by 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Musselburgh in April; below form up in class seventh beaten 4l off 70 last time, same mark here; top course trainer; effective 5/6f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; in career best form until latest. Dual course winner who failed to build on earlier promise when seventh of eight in 5f Hamilton handicap ten days ago; handily weighted if back on her A-game here though.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/2 -13%)Water Of Leith |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Water Of Leith 9/2, Yard has won 2 of last 5 runnings of race; outpaced, ran to form but looked in need of stiffer test beaten 2 1/2l off a 2lb higher mark at Hamilton last time; top course trainer; effective 5/6f, probably acts on any; respected off this mark, generally consistent. Dual C&D winner; returned from a break with a solid fifth in 5f Hamilton handicap last month; this reliable sort is a player off a 2lb lower mark here with Eireann Cagney up.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (10/1 -54%)Midnight Lir |
10/1(-54%) | (7) Midnight Lir 10/1, Bit free but ran to form beaten 1 1/4l off this mark at Thirsk last time; suited by 5f, acts on any; on long losing run, needs to build on latest couple of starts. It's now 21 starts since his last success but he comes here in good form, fourth of ten in 5f Thirsk handicap 19 days ago; well in the mix.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (16/1 -146%)Marajito |
16/1(-146%) | (2) Marajito 16/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 4lb lower mark at Ripon penultimate start; stiff mark sixth beaten 4 1/2l off 71 last time, 1lb lower here; suited by 5f, acts on good to soft, fast ground and AW; inconsistent, mark demands more. Resumed winning ways at Ripon (5f) in May but just sixth of ten in 5f Thirsk handicap 19 days ago; needs to get back on track.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (25/1 -56%)Never Dark |
25/1(-56%) | (6) Never Dark 25/1, Yard won this last year; never involved beaten 5l in a handicap at Haydock last time; trainer in form; returning from long layoff; enjoys making it; suited by 5f, acts on good, likes easy ground; erratic. On a long losing run and he ended 2025 below par in 5f handicaps at Hamilton and Haydock last autumn; needs to hit the ground running after eight months off.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (5/2 +50%)Our Absent Friends |
5/2(+50%) | (5) Our Absent Friends 5/2, Ran to form, got racing too early beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark at Catterick last time; suited by 5f, acts on any except heavy; consistent in the main, should be thereabouts once again. Course scorer who got back on track with third of five in 5f Catterick handicap 13 days ago; needs considering from an easing mark.. |

None of these can be confidently ruled out, but preference is for OUR ABSENT FRIENDS. The eight-year-old is well handicapped in comparison to past exploits and is ideally suited to a truly-run 5f. Water Of Leith is highly effective at this venue and could also be a key player, while recent winners Who Wants Me and Marajito are dangerous to rule out in a wide-open contest.

1st (7) (40/1 -21%)Little Lady Rock |
40/1(-21%) | (7) Little Lady Rock 40/1, Never jumped or travelled, green, needed run well beaten in a novice hurdle at Worcester latest; in good form prior; effective 2m, acts on good; consistent in bumpers and could leave debut form behind. Runner-up in three bumpers last summer when trained by Ryan Potter; jumped moderately and finished tailed off on hurdle/stable debut at Worcester (2m).. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (15/2 +17%)Brosna Town |
15/2(+17%) | (2) Brosna Town 15/2, Ran to form down the field in a handicap at Newcastle most recent; effective 2m; more to come over hurdles based on middle distance winning flat form. Flat/hurdle form for Dermot Weld earns respect but left that yard for £4,000 and was down the field on yard debut in last week's Northumberland Vase (2m, AW).. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/6 +33%)Way Maker |
5/6(+33%) | (4) Way Maker 5/6, Yard won this last year; unseated in a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter latest; cheekpieces first time; effective 2 1/2m, suited by sound surface; dual bumper winner should be winning soon over hurdles, may get even further in time. Dual bumper winner who has been placed in both completions over hurdles; 9-4 for a Uttoxeter novice last time when he swerved and unseated mid-race; hopefully there will be no repeat of that here with cheekpieces added.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (2/1 -7%)Rogue Impact |
2/1(-7%) | (5) Rogue Impact 2/1, Did bit too much too soon, showed up well for a long way on debut when second beaten 4 1/2l in a maiden hurdle at Worcester latest; effective 2m, acts on good; showed useful form on Flat, can do better over hurdles. Useful on the Flat and ran in last year's Derby; hasn't won a race since but he ran okay to be second on his hurdle debut at Worcester (2m, good) and going up in trip here could suit.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (8/1 -14%)Lipstick Traces |
8/1(-14%) | (6) Lipstick Traces 8/1, Ran to form beaten 9l in a maiden hurdle at Cartmel last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on good to soft and good; consistent, mark demands a bit more. Similar sort of form in defeat in bumpers and in some of her hurdle races; beginning to look a shade exposed and may need handicaps.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (28/1 -229%)Military Saint |
28/1(-229%) | (3) Military Saint 28/1, Improved when winning a maiden point at Ballysteen by 2 1/2l last time; point winner, worth a market check on rules debut. Took seven goes to win an Irish point and fetched £28,000 soon after; should have some future under rules but probably best watched on his hurdle debut.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (66/1 +18%)Boom Boom Boris |
66/1(+18%) | (1) Boom Boom Boris 66/1, Outpaced, never threatened on poor hurdle debut when fourth beaten 82l in a maiden hurdle at Southwell latest; showed only minor promise in points, may need more time under rules. Questionable what he achieved in points and he was completely tailed off on his hurdle debut; returns from wind surgery.. |

ROGUE IMPACT showed some promise when filling second place on his hurdling debut over 2m at Worcester a few weeks ago and the step up in trip could help the four-year-old to go one better. Way Maker has yet to match his bumper form over hurdles but he should not be discounted in a race of this nature. Others to note are Brosna Town and Lipstick Traces.

1st (7) (7/2 +56%)Gunfighter |
7/2(+56%) | (7) Gunfighter 7/2, Far too free beaten 10l in a handicap at Brighton last time; effective 7f/1m; regressive. Tapeta winner who has dropped down the weights and is one to watch in the betting on his third start for this yard; however, he's been soundly beaten on both runs this season and his losing sequence is up to 14.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (12/1 -20%)Wadacre Maestro |
12/1(-20%) | (6) Wadacre Maestro 12/1, Below form in race dominated from front down the field in a handicap at Catterick most recent; off a short-break; effective 7f on good and good to firm, unproven AW; inconsistent. Won at Musselburgh (7f, good) last August and also effective on Tapeta; he may have needed his sole run this year (well beaten at Catterick in April) but his profile is very up and down and claims aren't compelling.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (3/1 +10%)Onemorenomore |
3/1(+10%) | (9) Onemorenomore 3/1, Bit free but ran to form beaten 1 1/4l off a 1lb lower mark at Doncaster last time; top course jockey; effective 6-1m, acts on any; chance if building on latest couple of starts, 1lb below last winning mark. He's not consistent but he won over C&D last November and ran really well when second of 18 at Doncaster (1m, good to soft) three weeks ago; major player if he's once more on song.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/2 +27%)Anthropologist |
11/2(+27%) | (1) Anthropologist 11/2, Outpaced, never threatened well beaten in a handicap at Wetherby latest; trainer in form; suited by 7f, acts on a sound surface; back on last winning mark, needs more. Went close over C&D in March and won at Newcastle (7f, Tapeta) 13 days later; not at the same level on his three starts since, particularly on turf on last two outings, but the return to Tapeta could prompt a revival.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (33/1 -175%)Jimmy Knocker |
33/1(-175%) | (8) Jimmy Knocker 33/1, Outpaced, looked in need of stiffer test beaten 7l in a handicap at Newmarket (July) last time; suited by 6f and a sound surface; in form before lay off, must bounce back. 6f Tapeta winner who scored at Newmarket (6f, good to soft) last August on final run of last season; hasn't shone on either outing this term but last time was a step back in the right direction and he could be working his way back into form; the return to 7f is worth a go; not ruled out.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (14/1 +22%)Symphony Of Joy |
14/1(+22%) | (5) Symphony Of Joy 14/1, Never competitive having missed break on first start after wind op down the field in a handicap at Wetherby most recent; second run after wind op; effective 7/8f; strong sort, could still improve but mark demands it. Made debut last July and there was promise among his three novice starts, but he's finished down the field this year in his first two handicaps (1m/7f, good to firm); needs to get back on track.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (20/1 -43%)Surprised |
20/1(-43%) | (3) Surprised 20/1, Unsuited by soft ground beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap at Carlisle last time; in good form prior; probably effective 6f, suited by 7f, acts on a sound surface; form in and out. Lightly raced 4yo who has a patchy profile and finished last at Carlisle (6f, soft) four weeks ago; however, the ground may not have suited and prior to that she kept on well for close third there (6f, good to soft), hinting this return to 7f could be a positive; not discounted on AW debut.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (7/2 +30%)Tennessee Gold |
7/2(+30%) | (2) Tennessee Gold 7/2, Never threatened beaten 6l in a handicap at Doncaster last time; visor first time; usually held up; effective 6/7f on sound surface; 10lb below last winning mark but must bounce back. He's dropped to a mark fully 15lb lower than when a close fourth over C&D last August; however, this regressive 5yo has struggled to get competitive this year; a first-time visor replaces a tongue-tie.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (20/1 -186%)Vitalline |
20/1(-186%) | (10) Vitalline 20/1, Returned to form for cosy win down in trip landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; effective 6/7f, suited by AW; remains well treated on best form, could follow up. Won Kempton classified (7f, Polytrack) in March and, after five unplaced runs, he returned to form with convincing handicap win at 20-1 at Newcastle (6f, Tapeta) last week; bang there if backing up that latest effort.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (14/1 -133%)Suhub |
14/1(-133%) | (4) Suhub 14/1, Did plenty early well beaten in a handicap at Salisbury latest; cheekpieces first time; effective 7-8f, stays extended 9f, acts on a sound surface; competitive mark but inconsistent. Made it 0-9 when well beaten at Salisbury (1m2f, good) three weeks ago and the drop back to 7f doesn't seem an obvious plus given how well she kept on for second over 9.4f at Wolverhampton (Tapeta) two starts ago; however, she could still run well back on Tapeta in first-time cheekpieces.. |

VITALLINE is just about the most reliable of this bunch and should have no issues stepping up a furlong after getting back to wining ways at Newcastle recently. Having won off a good deal higher in the past, a 5lb rise might not prevent him following up in this company. Onemorenomore is a previous C&D winner with solid claims on recent form, while Surprised and Anthropologist can figure with revivals.

1st (1) (9/4 +0%)Conciliate |
9/4(+0%) | (1) Conciliate 9/4, Left debut form behind when third over 6f at York last time; effective 6f, bred to get bit further, acts on good; form franked; the one to beat. Belied his 50-1 odds with third to odds-on Godolphin newcomer at York (6f, good) last time, improving on debut effort; the only runner with experience; much will depend on whether any of the debutants are up to scratch.. |

CONCILIATE's third at York has been boosted since and the son of St Mark's Basilica can put his experience to good use to get off the mark at just the third time of asking. Instant Force represents a yard with an impressive strike-rate with newcomers and this half-brother to a 7f winner is pick the pick of the debutants. Any market support for Influencer Man or Trumpety Trump would be dangerous to ignore.

1st (1) (15/8 +46%)Fidendum |
15/8(+46%) | (1) Fidendum 15/8, Ran to form but did too much too soon beaten a length off a 2lb lower mark at Worcester last time; effective at 2m on a sound surface; hasn't looked the easiest ride, can go well again now handicapping. Made all to win C&D (good) maiden in May, his fourth hurdling start, and was beaten only about 1l when third to Crown Of India on handicap debut at Worcester (2m, good) later that month; may still have more to offer but has shown a tendency to hang and/or race too freely (ran out three starts ago), so comes with risk.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (7/1 -40%)Crown Of India |
7/1(-40%) | (6) Crown Of India 7/1, Scored by 3/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Worcester penultimate start; every chance, ran to form second beaten 5l off 93 last time, 1lb higher here; effective 2m on good; inconsistent but back in form. Exploited much-reduced mark at Worcester (2m, good) in May, his second run after a break, and backed up that performance with good second behind unexposed rival there last month; can make presence felt again.. |

3rd (2) (4/1 -78%)Granny Hawkins |
4/1(-78%) | (2) Granny Hawkins 4/1, Improved again overcoming troubled passage landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Stratford last time; trainer in form; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m4f, acts soft and good; progressive and more to come off revised mark. Progressive mare who kept on well at Stratford (2m, good) in April to complete a hat-trick; absent for 11 weeks since but latest 6lb rise does not look excessive and the return to a right-handed track should be no issue; respected.. |

4th (4) (28/1 -273%)Kaikoura |
28/1(-273%) | (4) Kaikoura 28/1, Ran to current level beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time; returning from long layoff; effective 2-2 1/2m; fair mark on Irish form but may just need this on stable debut. 0-10 over hurdles for Philip Dempsey in Ireland but signed off with pretty good fifth of 16 at Fairyhouse (2m, yielding) in October; has hood refitted for stable debut; worth a glance in the betting.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (7/2 +59%)Tilehurst |
7/2(+59%) | (3) Tilehurst 7/2, No obvious excuse when fourth beaten 30l in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon latest; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on good to soft and good; consistent until latest, good attitude and has been knocking on the door. Placed on first four hurdling starts, including close second on handicap debut at Taunton (2m, good) in March; absent since disappointing run one month later but returns with Sean Bowen enlisted and remains of interest.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (16/1 -33%)Applejack Poet |
16/1(-33%) | (7) Applejack Poet 16/1, Keen, travelled, returned to form back from break beaten 3 1/2l off this mark at Newton Abbot last time; effective 2m; not one to rely on building on latest revival. Had modest strike-rate when based in Ireland but belied 40-1 odds when very respectable third on recent stable debut at Newton Abbot (2m1f, good) and has possibilities if able to build on that performance.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (9/2 +40%)Diesel Line |
9/2(+40%) | (5) Diesel Line 9/2, Fell in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter latest; off a short-break; effective at 2m on sound surface; should come on for latest. Won twice at Uttoxeter (2m, good) last summer and was subsequently placed off higher marks than today's; made just a satisfactory reappearance here in April and fell heavily when last in action but will be a danger to all if back in prime form.. |

Granny Hawkins has to be respected following three wins but she could be vulnerable off her new mark. With that in mind, preference is for FIDENDUM, who was a close third on his handicap debut at Worcester and remains open to plenty of improvement. Crown Of India beat the selection on that occasion but may struggle to confirm the form on these terms.

Ran well in fourth at Carlisle (1m1f, soft) two starts ago then failed to settle when well beaten at Ripon (1m2f, good) last time; he has some versatility trip-wise, having won over C&D last March, and he's capable of making an impact back down in distance.. |

2nd (5) (9/2 +0%)Pickersgill |
9/2(+0%) | (5) Pickersgill 9/2, Scored by 2l off a 4lb lower mark here three starts back; ran to form fifth beaten 4 1/4l off 68 last time, 1lb lower here; trainer in form; effective 5-7f, suited by cut, acts on AW; bounce back needed. Won over C&D in April; not at the same level on her two runs on turf last month but she had a wide trip when fifth at Carlisle on the second occasion and could build on that effort today; stable is in fine form.. |

3rd (4) (6/1 +40%)Blazing Son |
6/1(+40%) | (4) Blazing Son 6/1, Every chance, below form, did plenty early beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap here last time; effective 6/7f, acts on soft, good and AW; mark easing but needs more. He needs to improve upon his last few showings and was held in fifth over C&D most recently; however, this two-time course winner is 6lb lower than when second at Newcastle (7f, Tapeta) in March and is not written off.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (12/1 -50%)Tough Enough |
12/1(-50%) | (1) Tough Enough 12/1, Poorly placed at sharp track in race dominated from front beaten 4l off this mark at Chester last time; effective at 6/7f, acts on sound surface; on a long losing streak, tough enough ask. Slowly away on his last three starts; runner-up over 6f here in April following a break; hasn't built on that on turf on his two starts since (6f) but he made late headway at Chester last time and the return to 7f may be a good move; could be involved back here.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (7/1 +30%)Shamacid |
7/1(+30%) | (7) Shamacid 7/1, No chance having completely missed the break down the field in a handicap at Kempton most recent; in good form prior; effective 6/7f, acts on AW; maiden is generally consistent. Remains a maiden after 13 starts and comes with a risk attached having been very slowly away at Kempton last time; however, he was in good form previously, finishing third at Kempton (7f) then second over this C&D, and he's a leading contender if breaking on terms.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/1 -38%)Portman Blue |
11/1(-38%) | (6) Portman Blue 11/1, Not best of runs down in trip beaten 2 1/4l off a 2lb higher mark at Lingfield last time; tongue-tie first time; off a short-break; effective 7f, acts on AW; more to come and has a chance here. Promising start to career early this year when third on his first two runs; hasn't kicked on but he was beaten only about 2l when eighth of nine on handicap debut at Lingfield in April (7f, Polytrack), and perhaps he'll take a step forward in a first-time tongue-tie; not discounted.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (10/3 -48%)Noble Guest |
10/3(-48%) | (3) Noble Guest 10/3, Returned to form 6l third in a handicap at Newmarket (July) most recent run; suited by 7f, acts on good to soft and good, not really proven AW; back below last winning mark, could build on latest if handling surface. Mixed form this year but ran okay when third at Newmarket (7f, good) recently and has dropped below his last winning mark; unraced on Tapeta but seemed fine on Polytrack on his two previous AW runs; might not be far away.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (33/1 -50%)Crystal Dagger |
33/1(-50%) | (8) Crystal Dagger 33/1, Outpaced, looked in need of stiffer test when fourth beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap at Wolverhampton latest; off a short-break; effective at 6/7f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; needs to settle and form has tailed off a bit. Attractively handicapped on form as recent as last December but she needs to improve upon what she showed on her three outings this spring if she's to get off the mark this afternoon (0-11).. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (14/1 -56%)Reputation |
14/1(-56%) | (9) Reputation 14/1, Scored by a length off a 4lb lower mark here penultimate start; ran to form third beaten a length off 57 last time, same mark here; effective 7f, not proven at a mile, acts on AW; in form, fair mark still. 13yo who reappeared with a C&D win in May before a good third at Wolverhampton (7f, Tapeta) last month; most of these have something to prove whereas he arrives with very solid credentials.. |

Dropping in class could be a good move for NOBLE GUEST, whose recent third at Newmarket reads well and the well-handicapped four-year-old looks worth chancing off 2lb below his last winning mark. Reputation is another who is well treated on the pick of his form and is dangerous to underestimate. Pickersgill and Portman Blue also warrant close inspection in the betting market.

Low-mileage 4yo who shaped well with third of 14 in 1m handicap at Carlisle 11 days ago, nearest finish; bold showing is on the cards off an unchanged mark with this return to 1m2f a likely plus.. |

40/1(-21%) | (6) Break The Bank 40/1, Needed run down the field in a handicap at York most recent; blinkers first time; effective 1m-10f on heavy, good to firm and AW; needs to prove ability remains following long lay off. It's now 20 outings since his last victory; his run of good form came to an end when just third of five in 1m2f Beverley handicap 12 days ago; the sort to bounce back though.. |

A dual 1m3f/1m4f scorer in 2025; underwent wind surgery before only fifth of six in 1m4f handicap at Doncaster three weeks ago; needs to take a step forward.. |

5th (7) (5/1 -67%)Thyer |
5/1(-67%) | (7) Thyer 5/1, Too much to do having missed break, looked in need of stiffer test beaten 3 1/4l off this mark at The Curragh last time; trainer in form; effective at 8f, acted on sound surface in UK; mark dropping, needs to build on latest up in trip. Fair 1m winner in 2024 for Marco Botti; took a big step back in the right direction for his current yard with sixth of 20 in 1m handicap at the Curragh nine days ago, staying on well having been set a lot to do; very much one to consider.. |

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (5/1 +44%)Mao Shang Wong |
5/1(+44%) | (4) Mao Shang Wong 5/1, Scored by a length off a 3lb lower mark at Beverley three starts back; returned to form second beaten 4l off 76 last time, same mark here; effective 8-10f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; generally in good form. Gained a third win of 2026 at Beverley (1m2f) in May; comes here on the back of a good second of five in another 1m2f handicap there 12 days ago so must enter calculations.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (10/3 +26%)Kokanee |
10/3(+26%) | (2) Kokanee 10/3, Ran to form back up in trip landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Lingfield last time; effective 8-10f, acts on soft and good; generally consistent, revised mark demands more. Ended a losing run in 1m2f handicap at Lingfield (on soft) last month; up 4lb here and any rain would be a help given he goes well on soft ground.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (40/1 -43%)Ouro Preto |
40/1(-43%) | (8) Ouro Preto 40/1, Continued in modest form for new yard beaten 8l in a handicap at Carlisle last time; effective 12f, acts best with cut; hard to fancy here. Fair form when a 1m4f scorer in France in 2025; yet to show that level after three runs for his current handler, seventh of 11 in 1m6f handicap at Carlisle 20 days ago; more is needed despite a falling mark.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (50/1 -79%)Cisco Disco |
50/1(-79%) | (5) Cisco Disco 50/1, No obvious excuse well beaten in a handicap here latest; effective 8-10f, acts on soft and good, but not fast ground; course specialist, below par this term and ground a concern. Ended 2025 when completing a hat-trick over C&D (third C&D success) in October but he's yet to fire this summer, soon ridden when only seventh of ten over C&D 16 days ago; has something to prove now.. |

The low-mileage ALTAREQ found things tough in a warm handicap at York on his penultimate start but looked more comfortable when third back in this grade at Carlisle last time. The Jim Goldie-trained gelding looks worth another chance. Kokanee won at Lingfield last month and can have a big say if coping with a 4lb rise, while Mao Shang Wong and Qitaal are other options to consider.

9/1(-125%) | (5) Jack The Savage 9/1, Improved on recent efforts benefitting from easy lead landing a handicap by a neck off a 5lb lower mark at Fontwell last time; effective 2m4f-3m1f, acts on a sound surface; remains well treated on best efforts. Has won two of his last three, the latest over 3m2f at Fontwell when Sean Bowen was at his strongest; probably has little up his sleeve after the 5lb rise.. |

11/1(-38%) | (4) Indian Sunbird 11/1, Returned to form suited by stiff test beaten 3 1/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Southwell last time; usually held up; effective 3m on good; mark probably about right. Three wins on good ground at about 3m; good run at Southwell last time as the winner got first run; went up 3lb but he's in the mix.. |

17/2(+15%) | (2) I Am Spider Man 17/2, Travelled, ran to form but out-battled late beaten 3l off a 1lb lower mark at Newton Abbot last time; effective 2m4f-3m, needs sound surface; on a fair mark and could build on latest couple of runs. Only 3-32 and without a win since 2024; however, he has added some consistency to his game this year with four successive placed efforts and his mark hasn't really gone anywhere.. |

Left previous yard for £1,400 in January but new trainer added a tongue-tie at Cartmel (2m6f, good) and he stayed on well for a close second; up 2lb but thereabouts with a repeat.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (7/2 +56%)Copper Beach |
7/2(+56%) | (6) Copper Beach 7/2, Ran to current form beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Southwell last time; in good form prior; effective 2m3f up to 3m1f on sound surface; very well treated on old form and has proven retains ability. Beaten 9l and 5l when twice runner-up in May but didn't appear to give his true running when a beaten favourite at Southwell (behind Indian Sunbird); could be given another chance.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (16/1 +20%)Beny Nahar Road |

Back-to-back wins (2m4f/2m7f) last summer and went in again at Southwell a month ago (3m, good; made most); didn't win with all that much in hand but only went up 4lb.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (11/1 +0%)You Did |
11/1(+0%) | (8) You Did 11/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster latest; effective 2m4f-2m7f, acts on good to soft and good; current mark demands more. Won over hurdles at Hexham (2m4f, good) and Musselburgh (3m, soft) last season; below par last two outings and was due to go chasing last week when withdrawn due to the ground.. |

Sean Bowen coaxed the best out of Jack The Savage to win over 3m2f at Fontwell and the retained rider is a signal of intent for the follow-up bid. However, this is a significant enough drop in trip to consider taking him on with LARKFIELD LUSIVE, who landed back-to-back races in May/June last year. The second leg of that brace came over this C&D and the seven-year-old ticks the right boxes after a last-time-out triumph at Southwell. I Am Spider Man and Indian Sunbird complete the shortlist.

She has about 4l to find with runner-up Hamda's Joy on her debut fourth at Kempton in May (7f, Polytrack; 5-1) but she showed signs of inexperience and this half-sister to two useful winners may be able to take a fair step forward this afternoon; the hood is retained; she's one to consider.. |

Tailed off last July on sole 2yo start; took a step forward when fifth of 14 on her comeback at Kempton in May (7f, Polytrack; Cixi third) and looks to have a future, but this Sea The Moon filly may be of greater interest when tackling longer distances.. |

5th (7) (22/1 -120%)Sterling Fortune |
22/1(-120%) | (7) Sterling Fortune 22/1, Improved a little for initial experience beaten 3 1/2l in a maiden at Yarmouth last time; effective 7f, acts on AW, good to soft; could progress again. Hinted at promise when down the field at Kempton (7f, Polytrack) in May on debut and built on that run when fifth of 11 at Yarmouth (7f, good to soft) last month; pedigree provides optimism that she will continue to progress and she's entitled to respect.. |

250/1(-213%) | (12) For Ever Hopefull 250/1, Invincible Army filly; half-sister to Liangel Hope, useful at 8f; dam useful at 5f at 2yo; another half-sister a hurdles winner; best watched. Fifth foal; Invincible Army half-sister to winners Liangel Hope (7f/1m; RPR 83) and Hasten Slowly (7f-11.5f Flat including AW, 79; 2m hurdle); dam 7f 2yo/1m winner (69); may be best watched on debut.. |

7th (6) (11/2 -83%)Royale Union |
11/2(-83%) | (6) Royale Union 11/2, Sold for 60,000 euros as a yearling; filly by top-class sprinter Starman; half-sister to Big Time Baby, high-class at 5f; dam very useful miler Royal Majestic; probably effective 7f; yard gets plenty of first time out winners. 60,000euros yearling; eighth foal; Starman half-sister to five winners including Big Time Baby (5f-6f including Listed), Charline Royale (Italian 5f/6f including Group 3) and Royal Mehmas (Italian Group-placed 5f/6f); represents powerful stable and could be a major player on debut, especially if strong in the betting.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (14) (50/1 +0%)Twilight Baby |
50/1(+0%) | (14) Twilight Baby 50/1, Struggled, needed more experience beaten 8 1/2l in a maiden at Musselburgh on debut; lot to find. Her dam was useful and she's open to improvement on this second start, but she was well beaten at 80-1 on debut at Musselburgh (7f, soft) last November and a watching brief is advised on her comeback.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (11/2 +54%)Honky Tonk Girl |
11/2(+54%) | (10) Honky Tonk Girl 11/2, Outpaced, never threatened, modest effort beaten 3 1/4l in a novice at Bath on debut; effective 6f; should improve a little for initial experience. Inexperience evident on debut at Bath (5.7f, good) last month, when she was 16-1 and kept on well from the rear to finish fifth (the experienced Clementines Star was third); this half-sister to seven winners could deliver a chunk of improvement today, with the step up in trip a possible plus.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (2/1 +56%)Cixi |
2/1(+56%) | (3) Cixi 2/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 5 1/2l in a novice at Goodwood latest; effective 7-8f, acts on AW; consistent, mark looks fair. 0-5 but she ran well when third of 14 in a maiden at Kempton (7f, Polytrack) in May and didn't see out 1m2f at Goodwood later that month; she could have a big part to play back down in trip.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (250/1 -100%)Matilda Bea |
250/1(-100%) | (1) Matilda Bea 250/1, Outpaced, never threatened comfortably held in a maiden at Redcar last time; top course jockey; middle-distance bred; should do better but in handicaps over further. 4yo who has been well beaten at big odds this spring on her first two starts (1m2f, good to firm); drops in trip today; others preferred.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (500/1 -150%)Victorian Rose |
500/1(-150%) | (8) Victorian Rose 500/1, Well held up in class down the field in a maiden at Yarmouth most recent; bred to want middle distances; yet to beat a rival home, major improvement needed. Big odds and unable to beat a rival on first two starts.. |

Royale Union is a half-sister to several winners, most notably Big Time Baby, and market support on her debut would be interesting. That said, HAMDA'S JOY has filled the frame on all four outings to date and she is the one to beat. Cixi should find this easier than her latest fourth in a novice at Goodwood and is worth a second look, along with Miss Gallant.

Low-mileage 6yo who tends to start slowly but has respectable recent handicap form at Musselburgh, namely a 1m win and two efforts in the frame; reasonably solid.. |

2nd (11) (10/3 +58%)Park Lane Penny |
10/3(+58%) | (11) Park Lane Penny 10/3, Still green and hung under pressure well beaten in a novice at Southwell latest; usually held up; unexposed; longer trip a plus; interesting at a price. Has failed to figure in maiden/novice events but may take a big step forward at this weaker level with Billy Loughnane booked; similar type to Midnight Steppers; market support would heighten interest.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/1 +25%)Millbuie |
9/1(+25%) | (7) Millbuie 9/1, Did too much too soon down the field in a handicap at Hamilton most recent; in good form prior; tongue-tie first time; effective 8-12f, acts on soft, good and AW; unreliable maiden. Placed in similar event on AW two starts ago (1m2f) but that is flanked by lesser efforts on turf; remains a longstanding maiden.. |

4th (6) (7/1 -133%)Langholm |
7/1(-133%) | (6) Langholm 7/1, Returned to form back down in trip when winning a handicap at Beverley by a nose last time; enjoys making it; suited by 7f, acts on any; inconsistent, stamina to prove back up in trip. Prevailed narrowly in Beverley handicap (7.5f, good) last time, bouncing back to form and showing that his old legs can still operate successfully; 1-1 at classified level; shortlisted.. |

5th (5) (9/1 +36%)Golden Valour |
9/1(+36%) | (5) Golden Valour 9/1, May have found ground too soft beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap here last time; effective 7/8f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; doesn't look in love with the game now. Veteran who is a C&D winner but has question marks over current form and whether he's still capable of cutting any mustard aged ten; gives classified grade a whirl.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (12/1 -71%)Trais Fluors |
12/1(-71%) | (8) Trais Fluors 12/1, Missed the break again, found little well beaten in a handicap at Newcastle latest; top course jockey; effective 7/8f, prefers a sound surface; on a good mark but needs more, usual run style requires luck. Oldest contender in this field; gained last five wins on Newcastle AW and hasn't scored on turf for three years; brings mixed recent handicap form to classified debut.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (5/1 +33%)Abu Royal |
5/1(+33%) | (1) Abu Royal 5/1, Met trouble, flattened out when in the clear beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; effective 1m-12f with cut and on AW; chance if building on latest. Inconsistent on AW this year and record is only 1-27 but the Ayr factor makes him interesting on classified debut; gained his win in sole visit to this course (May 2023).. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (16/1 -33%)Crystal Aurora |
16/1(-33%) | (9) Crystal Aurora 16/1, Keen, never threatened down the field in a handicap at Beverley most recent; effective 6-1m, acts on soft and good; form going the wrong way. Inconsistent 3yo maiden who finished last in the Beverley race won by veteran Langholm most recently; has possibilities on best form but isn't a solid option; classified debut.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (40/1 +20%)Freak Encounter |
40/1(+20%) | (4) Freak Encounter 40/1, Continued in poor form comfortably held in a classified race here last time; effective 7/8f, acts on good to soft, fast ground and AW; needs to prove breathing procedure has worked. AW winner for previous stable; far from solid on his form for current yard; drops back to 1m after attempting 1m5f at Ayr last time.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (40/1 -186%)Midnight Steppers |
40/1(-186%) | (10) Midnight Steppers 40/1, No worthwhile form; blinkers first time; might prefer an experiment with different distances; has beaten only 3 home in 4 runs so far. Newmarket raider; has achieved little at maiden/novice level but wouldn't be the first horse of this nature to improve sharply for a drop to classified grade; addition of headgear may also help; interesting.. |

Having regained the winning thread by the smallest of margins at Beverley last month, Langholm is likely to prove popular reverting to classified company. Another bold bid is forecast from the veteran, but it may pay to chance APPROACHING DAWN. The six-year-old arrives on the back of two creditable efforts in handicap company and he looks more than capable of scoring in these calmer waters. Abu Royal is the pick of the remainder.

1st (3) (2/1 -14%)Regal Renaissance |
2/1(-14%) | (3) Regal Renaissance 2/1, Well treated up 3lb, ran to form proving stamina back up in trip landing a handicap by 9l off a 5lb lower mark at Uttoxeter last time; effective 2m4f, just about gets 3m, suited by decent ground; consistent sort could complete hat trick. Did well over hurdles and fences for Henry Daly prior to £22,000 sale; a 5lb rise for her clearcut win on yard debut at Uttoxeter (3m handicap chase, good) could have been worse; very solid claims.. |

2nd (1) (5/6 +49%)Fringill Dike |
5/6(+49%) | (1) Fringill Dike 5/6, Returned to form down in class off reduced mark proving stamina under positive ride landing a handicap by 9l off a 7lb lower mark here last time; effective 2m-2m5f on decent ground; remains well treated on old form. Multiple winner but his first success beyond about 2m when making all for a 9l victory over C&D 23 days ago; back up 7lb but had dropped to a good mark.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/2 +61%)Gateau De Miel |
7/2(+61%) | (4) Gateau De Miel 7/2, Yard won this last year; scored by 10l off a 6lb lower mark at Stratford penultimate start; below form up in class off revised mark third beaten 26l off 115 last time, 1lb lower here; effective up to 3m2f, acts on soft and good; unreliable but capable. Successful stable debut at Stratford (2m5f, good to firm) but that was a weak race and he was a remote third over C&D a fortnight ago; that was perhaps too bad to be true but it still leaves him with a bit to prove.. |

It might be best to focus on the in-form pair Fringill Dike and REGAL RENAISSANCE, with marginal preference given to the latter after proving her trip versatility the last twice. A game win over 2m4f at Ludlow was readily followed up over 3m on her debut for Jack Jones at Uttoxeter last month. Returning to this distance shouldn't be an issue and Sean Bowen's mount can hold sway over fellow last-time-out winner Fringill Dike. Gateau De Miel can claim third.

Progressive last year and reappeared with a win on stable debut at Yarmouth (5f, good to soft) in May; respectable fourth at Doncaster (5f, good to firm) since and this 4yo may yet have more to offer; ran well in 2024 on sole previous encounter with Tapeta.. |

9/2(0%) | (5) Rapper's Delight 9/2, Far too free lit up by first time visor beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; trainer in form; effective 6f on AW, good; UK form franked, stiff mark now returned from Dubai. Won C&D novice last September before a stint in Meydan (some good efforts), and he returned to action with a midfield finish in a competitive handicap at Newcastle (6f, Tapeta) eight days ago; could improve for that run and the drop back to 5f; unexposed and he's an interesting contender.. |

3rd (6) (11/2 +27%)Canon's House |
11/2(+27%) | (6) Canon's House 11/2, Ran to form, did bit too much too soon beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark at Newcastle last time; enjoys making it; wide draw; suited by stiff 5f or 6f, acts on good to soft, good and AW; C&D winner, inconsistent of late but now back on last winning mark. Four wins last season, including competitive C&D handicap off the same mark as today; in and out this season but he gave it a good go from the front when close sixth of 14 at Newcastle (5f, Tapeta) last week, and this less demanding track should play to his strengths; respected.. |

4th (9) (9/1 +10%)Blinky |
9/1(+10%) | (9) Blinky 9/1, Too much to do having missed break at sharp track, ran to form beaten 1 1/4l off this mark at Chester last time; best at 5f, acts on good to soft, good and AW; remains 2lb above last win mark but hinted at better latest. Beaten 13 times since his last win in March 2025 but he returned to form with close fourth at Chester three weeks ago and he has a good record over this C&D in the main; each-way claims.. |

5th (2) (15/2 +0%)Tropical Storm |
15/2(+0%) | (2) Tropical Storm 15/2, Did too much too soon in first time visor down the field in a handicap at York most recent; wide draw; off a short-break; effective 5f on fast ground, best at York; yet to match form of Listed win but handicapper is relenting. Hasn't been at his best since a Listed win at York last May but he's on a reduced mark and showed some spark when third at Goodwood in May; he's had wind surgery since a midfield finish at York later in May and it will be no surprise if he runs well on AW debut.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (3/1 -33%)Kylian |
3/1(-33%) | (1) Kylian 3/1, Ran to current form beaten 2 1/2l off a 1lb higher mark at Newcastle last time; effective 5/6f, acts on any but suited by AW; mark easing but needs more. His form has taken a downturn but he's dropped down the weights and there was some promise in his eighth of 14 at Newcastle (5f, Tapeta) last week in reapplied blinkers (retained), when not beaten far despite being denied a clear run; drops in grade here and could have a part to play.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (28/1 -75%)Cloud King |
28/1(-75%) | (8) Cloud King 28/1, Faded late on, drop in ratings would suit beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; in good form prior; suited by 5f, acts on AW; go close again. This is his first outing since last December but he's gone well fresh in the past and ran some good races in the second half of last year; his C&D form figures read 12772 and he can be in the shake-up if fully tuned up.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (40/1 -344%)Alligator Alley |
40/1(-344%) | (3) Alligator Alley 40/1, Unsuited by tactics, needed run down the field in a handicap at Redcar most recent; suited by 5f, acts on any; back in form over winter, should come on for latest. 9yo who was well beaten at 33-1 at Redcar a fortnight ago; however, he may have needed that first run since January and he completed an AW hat-trick late last year, the first leg coming over this C&D; he's won here three times and could bounce back with a bold show returned to Southwell.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (16/1 -33%)Buzz Box |
16/1(-33%) | (7) Buzz Box 16/1, Ran to form just tiring late back from break beaten 2 1/4l off this mark at Newcastle last time; top course jockey; effective 5-6f, acts on AW; generally progressive, has run well fresh. Won early in 2025 on final two runs for Bryan Smart, both at Newcastle (5f, Tapeta), and he returned from an absence with an encouraging fourth on stable debut there this January (5f); he's back from some more time off today but with his trainer among the winners; could be a contender.. |

Having been denied a clear run at a pivotal point, KYLIAN's latest eighth in the Gosforth Park Cup at Newcastle can be upgraded. The five-year-old makes plenty of appeal dropping in class and a 1lb ease in the ratings can only help. Naana's Sparkle shaped better than the beaten distance suggests at Doncaster last month and he's feared most, ahead of C&D winner Rapper's Delight, who has received some respite from the handicapper.

Good second at Doncaster (1m4f) in May but scuppered by a slow start when a never-nearer fifth of 11 at Hamilton (1m4f) last time; no surprise to see her play a prominent role here.. |

Veteran who last May gained a ninth C&D win; his more recent form is not so encouraging, though, just fifth of eight over C&D 16 days ago; needs to bounce back.. |

6/1(+57%) | (1) Mr Withington 6/1, Poor Flat return beaten 8l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; suited by 10f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; in poor form in both codes of late. Failed to go on after a good third at Newcastle (1m2f) last July, signing off for Paul Robson with a fading seventh of 11 in 1m4f handicap there last month; starts out for new yard here off a reduced mark and not without interest, especially if the market vibes are positive.. |

Scored over C&D last July and she got back on track with fourth of nine over C&D 16 days ago, despite going very freely; one to consider.. |

4/1(+20%) | (9) Romeo's Guardian 4/1, Never competitive having missed break down the field in a novice at Leicester most recent; cheekpieces first time; off a short-break; bred for 6f/7f; type to do better once handicapping but longer trip not certain to suit judged on breeding. Has cut little ice in a trio of runs in 2026, ninth of 13 in 6f Leicester novice in April; since gelded (cheekpieces also added) and this son of Sergei Prokofiev could still do better now going into handicaps upped markedly in trip, especially if the market vibes are positive.. |

Runner-up to a progressive rival over C&D two weeks ago, compensation could be on the horizon for SHIFTER. A 1lb rise looks more than workable for Wilf Storey's mare and she edges the vote over reopposing third Off Spin. The latter was only a neck behind and is off an unchanged mark, so he's expected to be involved once more. Recobella is a feasible alternative dropping back in trip.

Around 8l off the winner at Bangor (3m, good) when returning from 562 days off in a race he won two years earlier; on a useful mark and entitled to be all the sharper this time.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (9/2 +0%)Ballydisco |
9/2(+0%) | (1) Ballydisco 9/2, Ran to form back from lay off when second beaten 18l in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter latest; stays 3 1/2m, acts on heavy and good ground; consistent but frustrating maiden over fences, should come on for latest. Dual hurdle winner who is 0-12 over fences but he has competitive form and although no match for the winner at Uttoxeter (3m, good) that run was probably needed after an absence.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (11/1 +0%)Zestful Hope |
11/1(+0%) | (2) Zestful Hope 11/1, Needed run when fourth beaten 38l in a handicap chase at Warwick latest; effective 2m4f-2m6f, acts on soft and good; inconsistent. Five wins include two over fences; he'll need to run a lot better than he did in a handicap chase at Warwick a month ago (after 101 days away) and in any case he could be vulnerable to stronger stayers over this far.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (13/2 -18%)Queens Wish |
13/2(-18%) | (4) Queens Wish 13/2, Ran to form benefitting from easy lead when second beaten 9l in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter latest; effective 2m-3m1f, acts on good to soft and good; consistent. Point/hurdle/chase winner; has her off days but ran pretty well last time at Uttoxeter (3m, good) behind Regal Renaissance who runs in the previous race; respected.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (18/1 -100%)Just A Memory |
18/1(-100%) | (6) Just A Memory 18/1, Taken on up front and made too much use of 43l third in a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot most recent run; effective 2 1/2m, acts on soft and good; fair mark on chase form but unreliable. 1-6 as a chaser; returned to form when runner-up at Ffos Las (3m, good to soft) but wasn't on her game at all when a remote third at Newton Abbot; can be hard to predict.. |

Although no match for the winner, Ballydisco posted a respectable second on his stable/seasonal bow at Uttoxeter. The nine-year-old is entitled to build on that comeback effort and merits consideration, but it could be worth chancing GALWAY REEL. Although Ian Williams' gelding failed to complete on his latest start over timber at Uttoxeter, a return to the C&D of his last triumph may work the oracle. Huckleberry Sting and Friends Don't Ask are other key players.

1st (5) (7/4 +79%)Senor Cortez |
7/4(+79%) | (5) Senor Cortez 7/4, No obvious excuse well beaten in a handicap at Kempton latest; effective 14-16f, acts on good, fast ground and AW; bounce back needed. Sent off favourite when good third on stable debut at Lingfield (2m, Polytrack) in March; also effective over C&D and he's one to watch in the betting, but he's been well beaten on his last two starts and needs to get back on track.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (17/2 -55%)Shushi |
17/2(-55%) | (8) Shushi 17/2, Another poor handicap run beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Kempton last time; effective 8-11f on soft, good to firm and AW; in good hands but needs more in handicaps. She's hasn't progressed and she's been soundly beaten in her first two handicaps (1m4f, good to firm/AW); however, this 3yo is from a talented family and is in good hands, and things may click at some point.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (13/2 -333%)Premier |
13/2(-333%) | (6) Premier 13/2, Returned to form up in trip on second start after wind op beaten a neck off a 3lb lower mark at Ffos Las last time; possibly best 1m on testing ground, stays up to 12f, suited by cut; generally consistent dual purpose performer. Won over hurdles last December (2m); reverted to the Flat in May and was beaten just a neck at Ffos Las (1m4f, good to soft) last month on his second start back, when 7l clear of the third; there's every chance that this trip will be within range and he should again be involved.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (13/2 +7%)Dino Bellagio |
13/2(+7%) | (2) Dino Bellagio 13/2, Poorly placed to challenge off steady pace, returned to form comfortably held in a handicap at Chester last time; effective 11-16f, probably acts on any; dropping back towards attractive mark. Made all in a big field here (2m) last July and he's on a handy mark on last season's best efforts; however, he's been well beaten on both outings this year and needs to turn things around.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (5/2 +50%)John Galt |
5/2(+50%) | (3) John Galt 5/2, Scored by a short-head off a 3lb lower mark at Leicester penultimate start; ran to form, saw out the longer trip fifth beaten 7 1/2l off 73 last time, same mark here; stays 14f, acts on fast ground and AW; has been quirky but run well in cheekpieces last four starts. Lightly raced 4yo who went close over C&D in April and won at Leicester (1m4f, good to firm) next time; appeared to be stretched by 2m at Newbury last time and could go well back down in trip.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (14/1 +30%)Baltic |
14/1(+30%) | (4) Baltic 14/1, Poor turf retrun comfortably held in a handicap at Yarmouth last time; effective 12f, acts on soft, AW and good to firm; back below last winning mark but bit to prove after string of below par efforts. Won over C&D in October 2024 off 9lb higher; however, he's run just five times since and has been disappointing in the main, particularly on both starts this season.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 -264%)Spooky Wooky |
20/1(-264%) | (7) Spooky Wooky 20/1, Below form comfortably held in a handicap at Musselburgh last time; in good form prior; stays 16f, acts on soft and on AW; mark looks workable, capable of better. Runner-up on handicap debut at Ayr (1m7f, soft) last September and good third at Musselburgh (2m, good) in October; this lightly raced 4yo is not written off today but it's his first outing since a heavy defeat at Musselburgh (2m, soft) in November, so there are questions to answer.. |

PREMIER arrives on the back of a neck second at Ffos Las over 1m4f and Warren Greatrex's gelding makes plenty of appeal, especially with the step up in distance being a potential source of improvement. John Galt should appreciate a return to this class and is best judged on his Leicester success in May, while others to note include Shushi and Spooky Wooky.

1st (10) (6/1 +0%)Bearish |
6/1(+0%) | (10) Bearish 6/1, Improved again up in trip when second beaten 3/4l in a novice at Hamilton latest; effective at 8-9f on good to firm, good; more to come in handicaps, mark looks generous. Odds-on in a pair of novice events this term, winning over 1m at Ripon then clear second over 1m1f at Hamilton; still plausibly open to progress and could do well in handicaps; respected.. |

2nd (11) (10/3 +17%)Dwindling Funds |
10/3(+17%) | (11) Dwindling Funds 10/3, Ran to form back up in trip beaten a neck off this mark at Musselburgh last time; top course trainer; effective 7-10f, acts on any; better efforts last twice, threat if in the same form here. Scored six times, mostly at Ayr, last season; beaten only a neck, despite being out 4lb of the weights, at Musselburgh five days ago; holds a fighting chance, back off proper mark.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (22/1 -22%)Salam Dubawi |
22/1(-22%) | (4) Salam Dubawi 22/1, Scored by 3 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Hamilton penultimate start; outclassed up in grade, may have found ground too fast tenth beaten 15l off 87 last time, same mark here; top course jockey/trainer combination; stays 9f, may get further, acts on heavy and good; progressing for new yard until latest, conditions a concern. Ex-French 4yo who won well from the front at Hamilton (1m) in May but has failed to beat a rival in his other two British starts; not entirely sure what to expect from him.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (8/1 +6%)Leadenhall |
8/1(+6%) | (7) Leadenhall 8/1, Scored by 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Nottingham penultimate start; ran to form second beaten 1/2l off 74 last time, 4lb higher here; effective 1m, best on sound surface; can go well again, has won off this mark. In-form 6yo who scored at Nottingham in May/June and ran well when favourite for the Carlisle Bell most recently; revised mark has kicked in but he defied it last summer; solid chance.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (7/2 +13%)Celeborn |
7/2(+13%) | (1) Celeborn 7/2, Hampered when beaten, poor run up in class beaten 9l in a handicap at Epsom last time; effective 1m, acts on soft, good; progressive until lay off, bit to prove now. Lightly raced 4yo who didn't have things go entirely smoothly last time when beaten favourite in his attempt to take Epsom record to 2-2; may still have more to offer and remains of interest.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/1 -22%)Brigid's Well |
11/1(-22%) | (6) Brigid's Well 11/1, Raced away from main action in centre, not disgraced beaten 9l in a handicap at Ascot last time; effective at 1m, acts on good to soft, good and AW; this much easier than recent assignments, generally consistent. 3yo filly; respectable tenth in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot (handicap debut) with reappearance under her belt; now 2lb lower and Jack Nicholls takes off a useful 5lb; not ruled out.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (16/1 -60%)Hale End |
16/1(-60%) | (8) Hale End 16/1, Scored by a head off a 3lb lower mark at Wetherby in April; no obvious excuse tenth beaten 5l off 76 last time, same mark here; best at 1m, acts on a sound surface; consistent until latest. In a consistent vein of form over 1m until below par over 1m1f last time; went very close over C&D on penultimate start and could go well returned to his usual trip.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (9/2 +25%)Theoryofeverything |
9/2(+25%) | (2) Theoryofeverything 9/2, Won this last year; too much to do having missed the break but ran to form beaten 2 1/2l off a 1lb higher mark at Redcar last time; effective at 8f, acts on soft and good; just below last winning mark, generally consistent. Has produced his peak RPR of 102 in both C&D attempts, including a win off 3lb higher in this race last year; Conor Whiteley takes off a bonus 5lb; interesting returned to this scenario.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (33/1 -65%)Monoceros |
33/1(-65%) | (9) Monoceros 33/1, Poor effort up to 9f comfortably held in a handicap at Musselburgh last time; trainer in form; effective 1m, bred to be suited by 10f, acts on good to soft and fast ground; bit to prove at the distance. Low-mileage 3yo; Newmarket winner for previous yard and ran well at Musselburgh on stable/seasonal debut; took a step backwards last time so needs to rebound.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (17/2 +6%)Walsingham |
17/2(+6%) | (3) Walsingham 17/2, Yard won this last year; scored by 1 1/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Pontefract three starts back; poorly placed to challenge, ran to form eighth beaten 4 1/4l off 88 last time, 1lb lower here; suited by 8f, acts on heavy and good; generally progressive, mark high enough. Has form at a variety of tracks but seems ideally suited by Pontefract, being 3-4 there compared to just 1-16 elsewhere; drops back in class for this first visit to Ayr.. |

Bearish supplemented a breakthrough victory at Thirsk with a good second at Hamilton in May and he must enter calculations on this handicap bow. However, LEADENHALL is slightly more appealing after his runner-up effort at Carlisle and looks capable of overcoming a 4lb higher mark. Last year's victor Theoryofeverything continues to creep down the ratings and he adds further spice to the mix, along with Dwindling Funds.

7/1(-75%) | (3) Litaque 7/1, Yard won this last year; very promising debut 8 1/4l third in a bumper at Worcester most recent run; effective 2m, acts on good; form of point win looks modest but should build on debut. 2m4f point winner; left behind by the front two at Worcester and the Skelton-trained winner has since finished second with a penalty; probably needs to find something on that form but that's feasible; yard won this last year.. |

8/1(-45%) | (11) Zandahar 8/1, Very promising debut runner-up beaten 5 1/2l in a bumper at Plumpton only start; effective 2m1f, acts on good; debut form franked, should progress. Good Flat pedigree; didn't make her debut until May when second to a James Owen horse who has won again since, narrowly beating Masterius; should run well.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (9/1 +25%)Don De La Frontera |
9/1(+25%) | (1) Don De La Frontera 9/1, Poor run well beaten in a point at Lower Machen latest; off a short-break; showed nothing in points; yard has had a couple of first time winners in bumpers this year; watch betting. Finished last in his two point bumpers when trained by Lily Bradstock; however, new trainer Toby Bulgin is always respected in races of this nature.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

22/1(+33%) | (6) Secret Message 22/1, 1,500gns Ghaiyyath gelding; dam smart at 8f; half-brother a Listed winner over 6f; Flat bred; worth following in the betting. Cost 240,000euros as a yearling but never raced for Godolphin and was sold on for 1,500gns in February; rare bumper runner for the yard.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (40/1 -371%)Poppieholla |
40/1(-371%) | (10) Poppieholla 40/1, Outpaced, modest debut well beaten in an Amateurs' bumper at Worcester only start; well fancied on debut so should be capable of much better. Finished tailed off at Worcester last month but she did go off the 11-4 favourite; better was presumably expected of her.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (50/1 0%)Ayla's Star |
50/1(0%) | (7) Ayla's Star 50/1, Yorgunnabelucky mare; dam moderate from 10f to 19f; tongue-tie first time; may just need this initial experience. First foal out of a 1m2f-11.6f Flat (RPR 64) and 2m1f-2m5f hurdle winner; tongue tied for debut; yard 0-6 in bumpers recent seasons.. |

MASTERIUS did little wrong on his second-placed Rules bow over C&D and ticks plenty of the right boxes. This contest may prove to be weaker and the four-year-old is fancied to record a first career victory, at the main expense of Zandahar. Karen Jewell's filly offered plenty of encouragement on debut at Plumpton and another good run looks assured. Litaque is the pick of the remainder.

Consistent filly who was nicely clear of third when second to unexposed rival at Kempton (1m4f) last month; has to take 2lb rise on the chin but has big role to play here if first-time cheekpieces have any positive effect.. |

9/1(+44%) | (8) Victors Spirit 9/1, Scored by a neck off a 1lb lower mark here in April; below form down in trip back on turf minus usual hood seventh beaten 15l off 72 last time, 2lb lower here; effective at 10/11f, acts on AW; could bounce back in reapplied hood. Well beaten after racing too freely on turf last month but has the hood refitted today and is now only 1lb higher than for narrow C&D win on handicap debut in April; could have a say.. |

5/1(+58%) | (2) Crystal Mariner 5/1, Ran to form over favoured C&D beaten 7l in a handicap at Kempton last time; effective 10-12f, acts on any; inconsistent, still too high in weights. Three wins in 2025, the last two over this trip at Kempton; yet to match that form after three starts this year, though, and didn't find that much after travelling well at Kempton (1m3f) on Monday.. |

5th (1) (13/2 -18%)Northwest Passage |
13/2(-18%) | (1) Northwest Passage 13/2, Bit free but returned to best beaten 1 1/4l off a 3lb lower mark at York last time; effective 8-11f; has run back into form after wind op. Has worked his way back to form since disappointing stable debut in April and posted career-best performance when second of 18 at York (1m2f, good) three weeks ago; should be fine back on Tapeta; good chance.. |

25/1(-56%) | (6) Aulis 25/1, Needed run when fourth beaten 10l in a handicap at Pontefract latest; effective 11-14f; formerly useful middle distance handicapper, needs to prove ability remains after lay off. Signed off for Ralph Beckett in good form in autumn 2024 but, following a long absence, was last of four on last month's stable debut (1m4f, turf); might need a few more runs before he's of interest again.. |

10/3(-11%) | (4) Jupiter Ammon 10/3, Didn't take to the cheekpieces down the field in a handicap at Chester most recent; off a short-break; effective 8-12f, acts on any, goes well on testing ground; consistent until latest. 11-race maiden; raced too freely in first-time cheekpieces (now removed) and flopped badly when warm favourite at Chester two months ago but the form of his close fourth at Newbury (1m2f, good) in April worked out well and he'll be dangerous here if all goes to plan after his short break.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (12/1 +45%)Vaguer |
12/1(+45%) | (7) Vaguer 12/1, Improved up in trip landing a handicap by a neck off this mark at Sunshine Coast last time; trainer in form; effective 9-11f, acts on good; winner in Australia, may just need this on stable debut. 5-18 when based in Australia but absent since winning 1m3f turf handicap in January 2025 and very difficult to weigh up on this British/AW debut; the market may guide.. |

CLUB CLASS has been consistent in three starts at Kempton this year and she looks well worth a try on Tapeta. Having narrowly failed to justify favouritism on her latest start, perhaps the change of surface and scenery will draw the requisite improvement from this reliable four-year-old. Northwest Passage is feared the most after a good second in a warm handicap at York, while Forever Penywern won his last two starts on the Flat when with William Haggas and merits close inspection back in this sphere.

25/1(-14%) | (9) Summerstorms Dream 25/1, Didn't take to cheekpieces well beaten in a handicap at Hamilton latest; in good form prior; top course trainer; effective 5/6f on good to soft and good to firm; needs more but in decent enough form until latest. Eight-race maiden; made encouraging seasonal debut when third of seven here (6f, good to firm) in May but ran as though something was amiss over that trip last month; cheekpieces removed after one use; others have more persuasive profiles.. |

8th (10) (66/1 -100%)Bonito Cavalo |
66/1(-100%) | (10) Bonito Cavalo 66/1, Never travelled at speed track having missed break down the field in a handicap at Musselburgh most recent; top course jockey/trainer combination; effective 5-7f, best on AW; out of form. Six-time AW winner but not since March 2024, and his turf strike-rate is 0-28; probably worth another crack at 7f but has been out of form over sprint trips for a good while now; considered only if lively in betting.. |

9th (11) (66/1 -32%)Bring Her Home |
66/1(-32%) | (11) Bring Her Home 66/1, No worthwhile form; top course trainer; returning from long layoff; yet to show anything over 7-8f; can only be watched. Unplaced all seven starts and absent since low-key stable debut off today's basement mark in October (1m, AW); needs December's wind operation to have made a big difference.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (100/1 -25%)Bobbys Pride |
100/1(-25%) | (12) Bobbys Pride 100/1, Far too free comfortably held in a handicap at Musselburgh last time; sprint trips may suit judged on breeding; has only beaten 3 home in 5 runs so far. Has achieved little in five runs (7f-1m).. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RR| (6) (50/1 -25%)South Road |
50/1(-25%) | (6) South Road 50/1, Refused in a handicap at Hamilton latest; trainer in form; effective 6f, acts on good to soft, good and AW; hard to make a case for. Recorded 40-1 win over 6f here (good to soft) a year ago but has lost her way since and refused to race on latest appearance 25 days ago; others are much less risky.. |

Lope Y Linda made the most of a drop into classified company when scoring over C&D on her most recent outing, but she has more on her plate reverting to handicaps. Toy Soldier and MONHAMMER share similar profiles and they may battle out proceedings, with slight preference for the latter. The eight-year-old arrives on the back of a neck second at Musselburgh and a similar performance off the same mark might prove sufficient.

1st (4) (6/5 +56%)Boatswain |
6/5(+56%) | (4) Boatswain 6/5, Every chance, ran to form up in class beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Ayr last time; effective 10-13f, should get further, acts on sound surface; yet to add to debut win but fair mark if building on latest. Has some good form on turf but latest defeat took his record in that sphere to 0-8; two attempts on AW comprise a win at Lingfield (1m2f) on debut and keeping-on third at Kempton (1m4f) in May; unexposed on artificial surfaces and looks interesting assuming he stays the new trip.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/2 +42%)New York Minute |
7/2(+42%) | (5) New York Minute 7/2, Outpaced, below form up in class down the field in a handicap at Thirsk most recent; effective 11-17f, acts on any; strong stayer will by return to this venue, generally consistent. Ran poorly last time, taking turf record to 0-6; broadly consistent on AW otherwise for current yard and he is 2-2 over C&D, the wins gained last autumn; 3-8 overall in this sphere; likely to be played late by Jamie Spencer (up for first time) and has possibilities back here.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/4 +31%)Sax Appeal |
11/4(+31%) | (2) Sax Appeal 11/4, Rallied gamely, ran to form beaten a length off a 2lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; best at 14-16f, wants a sound surface; in decent form, remain competitive up 2lb. Eight-time AW winner, including thrice at Southwell; close third in the Northumberland Vase at Newcastle last weekend when returned to this sphere; back up 2lb but takes a drop back in grade; solid chance.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (8/1 -357%)Sixpack |
8/1(-357%) | (1) Sixpack 8/1, Quickened clear cosily and improved again landing a handicap by 7l off a 7lb lower mark at Newmarket (July) last time; effective 12-14f, acts on most; thriving since move from Ireland, can go well again. Has done well over 1m4f-1m6f on turf this term, winning three times from five starts; scored easily at Newmarket latest; better than ever and may improve further in his current form; respected assuming he's as effective back at 2m and returned to AW.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (12/1 -41%)Alrazeen |
12/1(-41%) | (3) Alrazeen 12/1, Outpaced, never threatened down the field in a handicap at Newcastle most recent; top course jockey; returning from a break; effective up to 16f, best on AW; back on last winning mark but inconsistent. Record of 5-15 on AW, including two wins at Southwell, for Gay Kelleway; far from solid on his form since last success but market support should be heeded on debut for new stable; still in same ownership.. |

SIXPACK looked ahead of his mark when he backed up his Catterick win with an easy success at Newmarket 15 days ago. A 7lb rise still seems feasible and, assuming he handles the switch to Tapeta, the son of Sea The Moon could be tough to deal with. The reliable Sax Appeal is being kept busy and commands respect as a previous C&D winner, while Boatswain has been given a chance by the handicapper and is not ruled out from a career low mark.
Ths is the racecard key.
