There were 34 Races on Tuesday 29th July 2025 across 5 meetings. There was 8 races at Goodwood, 7 races at Beverley, 7 races at Galway, 6 races at Ffos Las, 6 races at Ripon, no doubt Tomform helped you find a winner.
The data in the racecards below is for the past year. View the racecard key.

CASTLE COVE arrives with strong claims on the back a Chester triumph on last month's reappearance and handicap debut. The son of Camelot beat the reopposing Grey Cuban in convincing style and is taken to defy a hike in the weights. The latter has subsequently franked that form, but the less-exposed Jolly Jack Tar may prove a bigger danger having returned the taking winner at Chelmsford last month. Defiance and last year's winner Take Heart are others to note.

This is most likely to fall to one of the less exposed 4yos and CASTLE COVE tops the list after his reappearance win at Chester.
Class & Speed Card

Zavateri had the measure of Coventry runner-up Do Or Do Not when landing the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket and both take their chance over the extra furlong. However, HUMIDITY has nothing to prove in regards to stamina because he returned the ready winner of the Chesham over this trip at Royal Ascot and he can take this step up in class in his stride. Dorset landed a maiden at the Curragh and the Ballydoyle colt could also prove competitive.

Plenty with chances in a good renewal. ANDAB was unfavoured by his track position when a running-on fourth in the Coventry.
Class & Speed Card

POET'S DAWN knows his way around here, with five wins from 26 starts. His recent Ripon third suggests he is running into form and he drops two classes from 1lb lower in the handicap. Blue Yonder is an obvious danger after victories in Jersey and at Chepstow, and an added 2lb for the most recent seems more than fair. Apodictique is an interesting alternative after her close-up fifth on her first start in 19 months.

Blue Yonder (second choice) and Pride Of Nepal firmly enter the reckoning. POET'S DAWN is another who should be on the scene.
Class & Speed Card

The only three-year-old to have won this in the last 10 years was trained by Andrew Balding, and he sends JONQUIL with every chance. A close second in the French 2000 Guineas before coming up short in the Commonwealth Cup, this return to 7f will suit the Greenham winner. Jersey Stakes hero Noble Champion is another representing the Classic generation with a shout, while the older brigade include last year's impressive winner Audience and Kinross. The latter could only manage third last season having won this twice in the past.

The hugely admirable 8yo KINROSS can win this race for a third time and post a remarkable tenth win in a Group contest.
Class & Speed Card

With hardly any winning form among the nine contenders, Catterick fourth ROSSO LEVANTO has strong claims if she is allowed to try to make all with Jack Callan taking a useful 7lb off her back. She will need a sensible ride on the front end to see out the trip, but is up against out-of-form rivals. Cuda Been A Rowlex did strike over 1m2f at Redcar in April and is worth another try at this distance, while Paco's Pride is another to consider.

None of these are convincing but ROSSO LEVANTO ran her best race two runs ago and she went off a bit lively on soft ground last week.
Class & Speed Card

It takes substance to win this race and although 2021 winner Trueshan has that in abundance, it's most likely one of the younger horses will come to the fore, with ILLINOIS suggested as the leading candidate. Having won the Ormonde at Chester before a gallant second in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot last month, the son of Galileo looks a natural successor to Kyprios as Ballydoyle's leading stayer. The hat-trick seeking French Master and last year's runner-up Sweet William can ensure the Gosdens also have a big say.

Illinois is the most solid option to play a leading role but SCANDINAVIA has emerged as a seriously appealing candidate for 2m.
Class & Speed Card

Jeddaal was only sixth on his York debut, but is bred to be better than that and looked the sort to learn plenty from the experience. Sea The Power is expected to come into his own over middle-distances next year and is one to watch for future reference, and ANCIENT EGYPT gets the vote. Charlie Johnston won this last year with Derby second Lazy Griff and will be hoping this 1,100,000gns son of Frankel turns out to be even half as good.

Frankel colt ANCIENT EGYPT was an expensive yearling and it will be disappointing should he not take care of these on his debut.
Class & Speed Card

There is a good spread of pace across the draw and this should be fast and furious. SHAGRAAN is one who should benefit from a strong tempo and, as a previous C&D winner, the Mick Appleby-trained four-year-old has solid credentials now dropping back down in class. Similar comments apply to Palace Of Holyroodhouse winner Adrestia, who was just a neck and a place behind the selection when fourth in Sandown's Coral Charge. Redorange, Miss Attitude and Democracy Dilemma are other each-way options.

Redorange is due a change of luck but JAKAJARO (nap) tanked through an Ascot handicap last time before running into traffic.
Class & Speed Card

HANNEY GIRL failed to stay 6f at Southwell last time, but is better judged on her third over the minimum trip at Catterick prior. Beaten less than a length on that occasion, the daughter of Cable Bay is worthy of another chance. Musselburgh runner-up Haberdash has a bit to find with the selection on these terms, so Havin A Flyer may prove a bigger danger.

Brian Ellison's MOSSVALE DIVA hasn't built on her debut run but she still holds strong form claims at this level.
Class & Speed Card

A slow start didn't help NAVAL LIGHT in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, but he still finished ahead of subsequent winners and that form is very hard to ignore. There is stacks of potential among the opposition and the likes of Stellar Sunrise, Anashhad and Yorkshire Puds could all takes steps forward from what they have shown so far. Star Of Albion, Bayraq Almuhamadia and Manly Fireball are all interesting newcomers to monitor in the betting.

Having caught the eye when keeping on well over 5f on his first two starts, NAVAL LIGHT can get off the mark now upped to 6f.
Class & Speed Card

PERFECT PRICE is a half-sister to stablemate Perfect Part, who made a shock winning debut in the Hilary Needler over C&D last summer, and Brian Ellison's filly is taken to follow suit. U Turn returns to maiden company and can make his presence felt, while the Irish challenger Believe In Glory has a shout on last month's second at Hamilton.

The clear form picks are U TURN and Believe In Glory. The former edges preference over the filly from a more favourable draw.
Class & Speed Card

ATLANTIS BLUE showed a big chunk of improvement to score at Lingfield last week and now has a 5lb penalty to carry. George Baker's six-year-old remains on a workable rating and it would be no surprise to see her go in again. Zapphire was beaten a neck into second at Beverley on her latest outing and goes off an unchanged rating so she has to be considered. Protest is just one more to keep an eye on.

This could go to the 5yo ZAPPHIRE, who has responded well to cheekpieces lately and was denied a clear run last time out.
Class & Speed Card

A lightly-raced mare who beat a solid yardstick at Roscommon, LA NOTE VERTE can follow up. Tailed off on her racecourse debut on heavy ground at Fairyhouse in March 2024, the Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old has remained unbeaten in three subsequent starts. Winning with any amount in hand recently, the daughter of Australia has the potential to improve further provided she settles better on this stiff track. Having landed four of her six outings over flights, Emily Love is a battle-hardened mare who won't be easily beat. She deserves maximum respect. Avondale and the unbeaten Timeless Treaty are also of interest.

Quite a hot novice but LA NOTE VERTE (nap) could take plenty of beating after the impression she gave at Roscommon
Class & Speed Card

CATCH CUNNINGHAM has finished second at Newmarket in each of his last two starts and is just 2lb higher than for his latest effort. Provided the six-year-old remains in similar form, he will prove hard to beat. Brazilian Belle is in good heart at present and a reproduction of her second at Musselburgh last week would see her go close. Jojo Rabbit is another to note.

Opal Storm and Catch Cunningham are capable but BRAZILIAN BELLE (nap) may be less reliant on good fortune.
Class & Speed Card

DUBAI TREASURE finished a fine fourth at York earlier in the month and goes off the same mark. The four-year-old should have no issues with this drop in trip and, with Oisin Murphy booked, she could be hard to beat. Harvanna was just denied at Chester and is only 2lb higher so should remain competitive. Recent Newmarket scorer Shallow is another to watch out for.

The pace will be strong and EASY PEELER is taken to recapture form after running a shade flat at Chester. Harvanna can be next best.
Class & Speed Card

Twice placed in Grade 1 races over hurdles, the Gordon Elliott-trained KING OF KINGSFIELD can make the breakthrough over fences. Runner-up at Navan last November on his only previous run in this discipline, the seven-year-old should be able to make his class count. Having adopted pacemaking duties for much of last season, he is likely to be ridden with more restraint on this occasion. A 143-rated hurdler, the son of Vadamos is an exciting prospect for this time of the year. A bumper and novice hurdle winner at the track, My Great Mate is sure to have been campaigned with this meeting in mind and shouldn't be far away under Paul Townend. Tipperary runner-up Jet Setting Jim is another with leading claims.

MY GREAT MATE is a dual winner at this track and seems to be his powerful yard's first-string so is selected.
Class & Speed Card

NEPTUNE LEGEND is back on a winning mark and has plenty going for him in the this company. A good second to an in-form rival at Bath most recently, the Tony Carroll-trained gelding should be suited by these conditions. Many of the rest have been struggling to find their form but the likes of The Cola Kid, Oldbury Lad and Call Time could be on the premises.

Recent solid form is sparse and NEPTUNE LEGEND is a token selection on the back of a good recent second at Bath.
Class & Speed Card

MAYBERRY MOON doubled his career tally at Carlisle earlier in the month and a 5lb rise might prove to be on the lenient side. The son of Mondialiste makes just his fourth handicap start and looks the one to beat. Wadacre Maestro appears to be progressing steadily and has to be respected on his handicap debut. Of the remainder, Saisons D'Or makes the most appeal.

The 3yo WADACRE MAESTRO appeals as a type who could have more to offer and he earns the vote on his handicap debut.
Class & Speed Card

Just a small field here may see the race turn tactical, but if AL SHAHAM lives up to his breeding (by multiple Group 1 winner Blue Point out of a Pivotal mare), then he could make a winning debut. Angel Dreamer struggled to land a blow on debut at Newcastle but is entitled to have come forward for that effort, and he could beat Spartacus Force to the second spot.

The Crisford yard boasts a good record with 2yos here and AL SHAHAM, a £200,000 breeze-up purchase in April, could well make it 5-9.
Class & Speed Card

Having only got the hang of things late on when third on her debut at Leopardstown, AMELIA EARHART can improve past runner-up Thenandnow. Sent off a well-backed favourite, the Aidan O'Brien-trained filly ran green over a furlong out before keeping on late. She should know a bit more on this second start. Thenandnow was always front rank before sticking to her task under Shane Foley. From a favourable low draw, the Dubawi filly is sure to be up with the pace from the outset. Given that Paddy Twomey trained the winner of that Leopardstown race, his representative Black Caviar Gold has to be respected.

With the benefit of experience and her rider's claim, AMELIA EARHART can now reverse Leopardstown form with Thenandnow
Class & Speed Card

SHETAKESTHEGOLD has improved with each run and although she is no superstar, the daughter of Havana Gold certainly has the ability to follow up on her Catterick success. Woody Y Fernandez was only a length away in third that day and has a chance of turning the form around if this flatter track prompts some improvement. With first-time cheekpieces tried, nursery debutant Chilliconcarneigh could go well too.

A flyer is taken on nursery debutant DUBLIN BAY, who was pitched into a couple of good races before possibly resenting a hood.
Class & Speed Card

Rajak steps up in class after landing the odds last time out by over six lengths at Bath, but he has an added 6lb from the handicapper. SOCIAL EXCLUSION kept on strongly over shorter when beaten a head into third at Windsor and, if she gets the sixth furlong, she might be able to strike at this level. Baggot Street looks the pick for third.

On the face of it RAJAK has a bit to overcome but he remains unexposed and can complete the hat-trick. Magistery is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

Second in this last year, NORWALK HAVOC can go one place better. Winner of a Listed race at Leopardstown subsequently, the Jessica Harrington-trained four-year-old looks to have been campaigned with a repeat bid in mind. Following a promising reappearance in a Group 3 last month, the son of Showcasing should be primed for this contest. A prominent racer, he is much more favourably drawn than he was 12 months ago. Slieve Binnian, who has been a revelation for connections in recent weeks, looks a serious threat. The David Marnane-trained gelding quickened up smartly to win a premier handicap at Leopardstown last time. Mississippi River is also worthy of consideration in a typically competitive renewal.

Over this slightly shorter trip and with his rider's claim MISSISSIPPI RIVER can reverse Leopardstown form with Slieve Binnian
Class & Speed Card

Tony Carroll suggested Son Of Astar benefited from dropping in trip and grade when he won over C&D 20 days ago. This isn't much tougher and a 2lb rise shouldn't inconvenience him. Nevertheless, reliability isn't his strong point and it might be more profitable to take a punt on SMOOTH SILESIE, who runs off 9lb below her last winning mark. Cabeza De Llave is another to consider.

The trailblazing SO SMART drops in class and he can prove a cut above today's opposition. Son Of Astar looks best of the rest.
Class & Speed Card

BOSPHORUS ROSE has won three times since being stepped up in trip, including last time out by three and a half lengths at Catterick. She carries a 6lb penalty here, but Poppy Scott claims 7lb in the saddle which might give her the edge. Say What You See ran on strongly to win by a neck at Ayr latest and is worth a try over this new distance, though Windsor second Silver Chamber may be the bigger danger.

Bosphorous Rose surely retains most potential but might still be vulnerable. SAY WHAT YOU SEE looks a reasonable alternative.
Class & Speed Card

COLLECTING COIN can get off the mark at the third time of asking. The Jessica Harrington-trained gelding finished third on his racecourse debut at Cork back in April, before going down narrowly at the Curragh the following month. In a race where most of the leading contenders appear relatively exposed, the son of Lope De Vega looks one of few potential improvers. Unlucky in running at Limerick recently, Gran Habano should be competitive. Less than a length behind the selection at the Curragh, there is unlikely to be much between the pair again. Adieu Spirit is a newcomer worth keeping an eye on in the betting.

Preference is for COLLECTING COIN, gelded since being caught late by a potentially smart type at the Curragh in May
Class & Speed Card

ZILFEE gets to race in a maiden for the second time despite coming home in front at Kempton last year only to be later disqualified. She rallied well to score over a furlong shorter that day and wears a first-time visor here which may help her focus. Whatamoon ran on well when second at Kempton latest and looks her main danger, while Kempton fourth El Megeeth is bred to be far better than she showed on debut.

This is a seriously well-bred field but ZILFEE can make amends for her disqualification since winning at Kempton last June.
Class & Speed Card

Canaria Queen struck in a classified stakes at Nottingham last time and is an interesting contender back in the handicap ranks, but the vote goes to LATIN FIVE. The eight-year-old showed more when making the frame at Beverley last time and could take advantage off an unchanged mark. Mrs Bagerran isn't ruled out either.

Mrs Bagerran should give it a good go from the front but LATIN FIVE (nap) is fancied to record his third C&D win.
Class & Speed Card

Following a promising reappearance at Killarney, IMPOSING SUPREME should be primed for this contest. Third last year, the Tom Gibney-trained grey justified favouritism when successful here a few days later. A dual winner at the meeting back in 2021, the nine-year-old always deserves maximum respect at Ballybrit. Alpha Capture seems another who has been campaigned with this meeting in mind. Runner-up here last year, the Willie Mullins-trained gelding was unlucky on his return at Leopardstown. While he had no obvious excuses at Killarney last time, there will be plenty who give him another chance. Summer Snow should be suited to this track, while reserve On A Session would be of interest if getting a run.

SUMMER SNOW got a hefty rise for winning at Down Royal last time but that form was franked since and she can win again.
Class & Speed Card

Glencalvie is a distance winner having won at Chelmsford and Yarmouth in 2024 and, if she can get back to that level, she would be involved. BEAUNE was beaten less than a length into fourth over further here last time out and might be good enough to see these off, though both Fifty Sent and Royal Jet also have strong claims.

None of these are convincing but BEAUNE has been mostly consistent of late and this could be the day that he breaks his duck.
Class & Speed Card

Ferrari Gold took a step forward from her debut effort to shed the maiden tag at Chester latest, and should mount a bold bid despite her penalty. However, ABLOOM has been unfortunate to finish second on each of her last two starts, most recently at Newmarket, and looks the way to go. Renewal wasn't disgraced in third at Kempton and is far from out of it either.

Out of a 1m2f Listed winner, RENEWAL should appreciate the extra furlong having shaped well on her return. Abloom is next best.
Class & Speed Card

SPECKLED MEADOW has each-way claims in a wide-open affair. Runner-up last year, the Don Browne-trained mare is a previous winner at this track. There was plenty to like about her recent comeback effort at Leopardstown, where she stayed on late into mid-division. Granted normal improvement from that first start since November, the eight-year-old should be competitive. Loingseoir has shaped well enough of late to suggest he still retains plenty of ability at this level. Nicola Burns is a positive jockey booking on the veteran. Just For One Day would have every chance if behaving herself in the stalls and breaking on terms.

RAMPAGE is a C&D winner who has hit form lately and might represent a bit better value. His draw isn't ideal but is manageable.
Class & Speed Card

Atalanta Breeze hasn't been seen since a poor run on heavy ground at Newbury last October, but is interesting on her return. COGITAL won over C&D off 3lb lower last time despite being hampered and with Eddie Edge claiming 5lb, he looks the one to beat. Masterdream strolled home over fences at Worcester last month and could be an interesting alternative to the more obvious contenders.

The most likely winners appear to be QUEEN OF STEEL (nap) in her bid for a six-timer and veteran Cogital bidding for a C&D double.
Class & Speed Card

BETA READER ran too badly to be true when finishing last of nine at Newcastle last month and may be better judged on his third at Wetherby prior to that. Charlie Johnston's three-year-old returns to turf in first-time cheekpieces and could prove hard to beat. Homeland could only manage fifth at Beverley on his most recent outing and might get closer off 1lb lower. Sweet Cicely completes the shortlist.

Confidence behind Madrigal Moment should be noted but HOMELAND's two thirds in fair handicaps this summer make him the selection.
Ths is the racecard key.
