BUFORD has proven stamina and looks the one to be on now he reverts to turf after finishing third in a similar race at Wolverhampton last time. Odd Venture is also considered as he produced his best effort for a while when finishing a close-up third at Beverley last month. Of the others, course winner Iolani and Spirit Of Ash are expected to make their presence felt.

BRAES OF DOUNE gained his breakthrough success at Ayr last time and with that form working out well he is fancied to follow up with his stamina also proven over this longer trip. Spirit of Ash could emerge as the chief threat, especially if not giving away too much ground at the start this time, with the in-form Odd Venture another who should be in the mix.

Two good efforts from SPIRIT OF ASH preceded her latest start when she was favourite but missed the kick. She's given another chance.

AL ZARAQAAN seems to have plenty in his favour having won all three starts over fences. He does need to be ridden patiently and has an added 4lb from the handicapper, but this looks like another decent opportunity. Impulsive One was best of these over hurdles and warrants plenty of respect on his chasing bow. He might get the better of Valentino Dancer, who finally switches to the larger obstacles, in the fight for second.

AL ZARAQAAN produced his most convincing display yet over fences when completing the hat-trick at Uttoxeter last time and remains fairly treated. He can extend his winning run. Valentino Dancer gets the nod for the forecast.

It's hard to see beyond unbeaten chaser AL ZARAQAAN, who comes here after winning a competitive Uttoxeter handicap three weeks ago.

ELUSIVE EMPIRE sets the standard on the official ratings and has an outstanding chance here. Having been allotted a rating of 77 after going close in a novice at Salisbury 10 days ago, it is noteworthy that he is kept to maiden company and this looks a good piece of placement by Archie Watson. Initio won't need to be out of the ordinary to have an impact on his racecourse bow, while Capital Guarantee is also noted on debut for David O'Meara.

ELUSIVE EMPIRE took a big step forward when runner-up at Salisbury last time and looks the way to go here with further progress on the cards from Archie Watson's son of Territories. Ex-Irish Capital Guarantee has the form to play a big part too if hitting the ground running for his new yard. Newcomer Initio is another to consider if the market speaks in his favour.

The most likely winner is ELUSIVE EMPIRE who finished within 2l of a promising winner at Salisbury.

Joly Maker needs a career best off this mark and he may have to give way to SWAPPED on this occasion. Nicky Henderson's six-year-old was disappointing over hurdles, but wind surgery and a switch to fences have seen him finish second at Newton Abbot followed by success at Worcester. He may have more to offer as he learns his craft, leaving Duke Of Luckley and Raecius Felix to battle it out for third.

SWAPPED has benefited from a switch to chasing lately and barely put a foot wrong when scoring comfortably at Worcester last time, so he's an obvious choice to go in again. Duke of Luckley looks the chief threat and Raecius Felix can't be ruled out.

Preference is for SWAPPED, who was a pretty convincing winner at Worcester last month and probably still has potential as a chaser.

ASCOT ADVENTURE has dropped to a competitive mark and, having shown steady improvement since joining his current yard, he is an appealing option. He appeared to find things happening a stride too quickly near the finish in a deeper race over 6f at York 10 days ago and may find this trip/level is more to his liking. Yaaser is an old rival of the selection and commands respect off a handy mark, while Thirsk winner Lilikoi is also noted.

This is the first time ASCOT ADVENTURE has ever been eligible for a Class 5 handicap and he's selected to take advantage of the drop in grade. Last-time-out Thirsk scorer Lilikoi is feared most ahead of Gone, who has been freshened up since her busy spell in June.

Gone could be all the better for a break but ASCOT ADVENTURE (nap) is a winner waiting to happen off his reduced mark.

In a competitive contest Manimole seems likely to go well upped in trip after coming home second at Uttoxeter over two miles, while there may be little to choose between Ma Belle Noire and the improving River Of Joy. All three have serious chances, but if SUNDAY SOLDIER takes to hurdles she could shock them all. Third in a Bangor bumper last time, she gets 7lb from the previous winners here and is bred to do better over obstacles.

RIVER OF JOY only had to run to a modest level to come out on top at Ffos Las last month, but this is another weak affair and she still has scope for further improvement based on her bumper form, especially with the step up in trip likely to suit, so she's more appealing than Manimole and Ma Belle Noire, who both look fully exposed now. Sunday Solider was verging on fair in bumpers and could emerge as the chief threat now going hurdling for another new stable.

This can go to RIVER OF JOY (nap), who finished well and was nicely in command in the closing stages of a 2m Ffos Las novice in June.

Travel Candy (winner) had Tees Douge (third) behind him at Catterick earlier this month, but a 2lb swing in the weights could see the latter reverse that form. Tongue-tied ahead of his nursery debut, it would be no surprise to see Moyola take a step forward, while Torvar is also noted. However, preference is for INDICATION SPIRIT. He was able to build on a promising debut effort when winning over C&D 20 days ago, and there should be more to come.

This is a competitive nursery. INDICATION SPIRIT should have more to come on the back of her C&D maiden success and gets the nod. The horse who split Travel Candy and Tees Douge when they were first and third in a Catterick nursery earlier in the month won comfortably at Bath last week so that form looks solid and they should go well again. Torvar looks capable of better and is another to consider.

If breaking better than at Catterick then TEES DOUGE might well reverse placings with Travel Candy.

Another big run can expected from the hat-trick seeking OUR SCHOLAR, who has won his last two starts in a game manner and can defy an 8lb higher mark. The trip and ground don't present any issues for the selection and he is taken to maintain his good record with Harry Cobden. Hiconic also chases a three-timer and enters calculations off a 3lb higher than her latest success, while Allbetsoff is feared from the rest.

A small field but an interesting race. SACCHOANDVANZETTI has been the subject of an interesting trainer change and gets the nod but Hiconic arrives in top form and is unlikely to go down without a fight, while Allbetsoff is also respected back at the scene of his win last month.

Fergal O'Brien's new recruit SACCHOANDVANZETTI drops in grade after a creditable third in a Listed handicap on his final Irish start.

Recent Roscommon bumper winner WESEEKHERTHERE can make a successful return to hurdling. The Gordon Elliott-trained filly ran well enough on two previous runs over flights to suggest a race of this nature is within her capabilities. The full sister to a blacktype horse appears to have been found a nice opportunity to shed her maiden tag. Art Of Silence, who won his bumper at this track last year, has shaped well in a couple of hurdle races of late. The Ger Keane-trained five-year-old stayed on nicely when fourth at Downpatrick recently. Jacks Fancy has finished mid division on both starts to date but is another that should be capable of making her presence felt in a race where only a handful look to have genuine prospects of winning.

WESEEKHERTHERE got off the mark in a Roscommon bumper last time out and with more progress very much on the cards now going hurdling she gets the vote ahead of hurdling newcomer Wordsworth, who brings a lot of potential to this sphere given his useful Flat-winning form for Aidan O'Brien. Art of Silence appeals as the pick of the rest for place purposes.

Head and shoulders above these is very good Flat performer WORDSWORTH and an adequate round of jumping is likely to suffice

The fact she was pitched into Listed company the start prior to that suggests she is held in some regard, so this drop in trip could see her to greater effect. Castan has been largely consistent in recent starts and must go on the shortlist. Others to note include Zuffolo and Mereside Angel.

LOCH CARRON is unexposed compared to most and shaped as if a drop back to this trip would suit when sixth at Chelmsford last time, so she gets the marginal vote ahead of Dandy Dinmont, who was better than the result in a stronger contest at York 11 days ago. Aconcagua Mountain is also of interest.

An open sprint may go to DANDY DINMONT who is accustomed to competing in better races than this.

BASFORD has been in scintillating form since returning from a a short break a third win of the campaign is a feasible outcome here. He had plenty in handy when landing a novice hurdle at Fontwell last month and this looks an easier assignment for the gelding. The unexposed Imperial Data is an obvious danger and can improve with a tongue-tie applied. Dynali is also noted on his first start back after wind surgery.

BASFORD is fully exposed but he saw off a subsequent winner in ready fashion at Fontwell last month and looks to have an excellent chance of following up in a thin handicap. Imperial Data was a shade disappointing last time bearing in mind his hurdling debut promise, but it remains early days and could get back on track now venturing into handicaps.

Basford is consistent but the lightly raced IMPERIAL DATA has shown promise since joining Rebecca Menzies and receives the vote.

SIMPLETWISTOFFAITH can strike on just his second start for trainer Patrick Hassett. The six-year-old had shown promise on a couple of occasions for his former connections but took a significant step forward when runner-up at Kilbeggan last time. A reproduction of that effort would be good enough to go one place better in this contest. Scott Lang is a decent handicapper on the level who has shown ability on both runs over flights to date. The Paul Flynn-trained gelding tends to race prominently, a running style that will suit around a tight track such as here. Extrapolation looked very smart when winning his bumper at Downpatrick in May but has yet to reach those heights over hurdles. The six-year-old has time on his side so shouldn't be discounted just yet.

EXTRAPOLATION faced a stiff task at Roscommon last time and is worth another chance based on the promise of his Punchestown second. Simpletwistoffaith and Stormy Jenn are a couple of the other players.

There was a lot to like about the staying on effort of ROHANS SUCCESSOR at Sligo last time and he can progress further

BARROLO came up just short as he went in search for the hat-trick at Catterick last time but, returned to further, this looks an ideal opportunity for the Havana Grey gelding to regain the winning thread. Cuban Rock is feared most raised 4lb for his recent course success, while first-time cheekpieces could elicit some improvement from the Liam Bailey-trained Keeponbelieving.

BARROLO is going the right way and promises to be suited by the longer trip, so he's preferred to Cuban Rock, who opened his account at this course last time. Indication Rocks is another one to consider returning to the Flat.

Jim Goldie's CUBAN ROCK beat an in-form rival here last time and is taken to follow up at the expense of Barrolo.

Serena Brotherton and the Easterbys have an imperious record in races of this nature and Point Louise looks set to play a prominent role despite having to carry top weight. However, the one that appeals most on these terms is BREGUET BOY, who exploited a drop in the ratings courtesy of a brace of wins earlier in the campaign. He is a previous course winner and a highly tempting proposition on debut for Archie Watson. Inexplicable and Hellavapace are others to consider.

BREGUET BOY has been in good order for Keith Dalgleish this season and has joined another shrewd stable, so he's the one to beat. Miss Harmony is an obvious danger following a return to form at Nottingham and Point Louise looks a player back on AW.

An interesting opener in which plenty enter the reckoning. However, after a pleasing recent Nottingham run, MISS HARMONY is preferred.

METHODTOTHEMAGIC has a good chance to prove that her impressive last time out C&D success wasn't a fluke and a 9lb higher mark looks fair given the winning margin that day. Clean Getaway is consistent and also warrants consideration now that he has been cut some slack by the handicapper, while the recent Worcester-scorer Bensini and Coconut Twist are also taken seriously.

A case can be made for a few of these but COCONUT TWIST is taken to gain a deserved first success with the form of his latest second here having been franked. Game Beaaa also bids to shed her maiden tag and is feared most on the back of her encouraging C&D fourth. Handicap debutant Skeeter Park and recent scorers Methodtothemagic and Bensini need factoring in too.

Another chance is given to RIGGSBY, who disappointed last time but is open to significant improvement over a new trip today.

ONLY ONE PLAN had been running consistently in similar races prior to getting off the mark at Roscommon on his penultimate start. The Retirement Plan gelding failed to back that effort up back at that same track last time but connections dispensed with the cheekpieces he had worn in his previous four outings. With that particular aid back on here, the Philip Rothwell-trained gelding should give a good account. Eighty Eight, a fair handicapper on the flat for Johnny Murtagh last year, looks nicely treated off a rating of 104 on his first start outside of maiden company. Dual flat winner Rushford also looks one that should have more to offer now that he goes handicapping off a relatively low mark.

ATLANTIC WONDER had been shaping as if ahead of his mark prior to a tame display at Wexford last time and, with a tongue strap applied, he makes most appeal. Clear The Clouds and Only One Plan both arrive in form and should be on the premises.

The recent rain will help ONLY ONE PLAN(nap) who will be hard to beat on his Roscommon winning form

The form of Bigger Than Giga's Kempton success has already taken a few knocks and, although respected as the only previous winner in the line-up, she looks vulnerable having to conceded 5lb and more to the rest. Therefore, the vote goes to TOKYO DREAMER, who has been consistent in maiden company of late and looks the pick at these weights. Any market support for newcomers Eminent Jewel and Miss Anya would also be noteworthy.

EMINENT JEWEL is a half-sister to several winners and represents an in-form stable, so she's worth a chance to make a winning start at the possible expense of Bigger Than Giga, the only previous winner in the field. Tokyo Dreamer should also be on the premises.

This is not a strong novice but quite an open one. Preference is for QANDIL, for whom this trip should be more suitable than sprinting.

THUNDER received a very astute ride from Danny Mullins when making all at Tramore last time but the John Ryan-trained gelding could be capable of better still. The five-year-old had his race in safekeeping from a long way out so dropping back down in trip may not be such an inconvenience. The winning jockey switches to Katou on this occasion and the Willie Mullins-trained mare has to be respected. Although disappointing on her most recent run at Roscommon, the daughter of Shantou emerged victorious at Tramore on her penultimate start. Killeemore Lad is chasing a hat-trick following wins at Hexham and Kilbeggan respectively. Andrew Slattery's five-year-old has to carry a penalty but is partnered by a decent young conditional.

KILLEEMORE LAD has made a fine start over hurdles and can make it 3 wins in a row. Flidais and Katou also make some appeal.

Despite not being the strongest of finishers, CALICO should get the strong gallop that she will appreciate and might find enough

Joe Leavy gave the four-year-old a positive ride from the front that day and, berthed to attack in stall one here, he could repeat the dose. A winner in classified company last time, Kodi Dancer merits respect, while others to note include Jumira Bridge and handicap-debutant Dunmore East.

BUNGLE BAY got back to winning ways at Wolverhampton last time and with that form having been franked he is taken to defy a 3 lb rise in the weights at the chief expense of C&D scorer Jumira Bridge, who didn't enjoy the rub of the green when sixth at the same track on his most recent start. Viewfromthestars is another who can go well in his bid for a first victory.

Preference is for CHAMPAGNE SUPANOVA, whose two C&D wins came off higher marks and who goes well fresh. Mostallim is a threat.

Nevertheless, MAGIC GEM still has low mileage and he looks the way to go based on recent performances. Kodi Noir is another to bear in mind.

HEZAHUNK ran his most encouraging race to date when fourth at Chelmsford last time and this lightly-raced 4-y-o can build on that and get off the mark. The hat-trick seeking Magic Gem is second choice ahead of Bluebells Boy, who took a step back in the right direction when fourth at Newcastle.

Magic Gem still has more to offer but there are others who like to lead and preference is for HEZAHUNK after his good Chelmsford run

CAN'T STOP SMILING can win her third successive race at this venue. The Aidan Howard-trained mare, who won twice here in May, now returns in search of the hat-trick after a short break. Although both recent victories came on good ground, the daughter of Walk In The Park shaped well on an easier surface in her maiden hurdle at Naas. As Tears Go By is also chasing a three-timer, having won at Clonmel and Wexford in recent times. The lightly raced gelding also won at Sligo last year, so this tight track should hold no fears. In From The Cold is relatively well treated over hurdles compared to his flat rating, so the Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old has to be respected. The Alhebayeb gelding should appreciate a strongly run race at this trip.

CAN'T STOP SMILING is having a happy time of it in handicaps and she can make it 3 wins in a row at Ballinrobe. As Tears Go By and Ostend were both successful themselves last time out and are feared.

John McConnell's WILD SHOT looked on really good terms with himself when winning on the Flat two weeks ago and this mark is fine.

The Invincible Spirit colt can strike at the fourth time of asking, having struck the woodwork on his last two starts. Commander Of Life did well to fill the runner-up spot at Lingfield last month after being slowly away, so he merits respect with that in mind. St Lukes Chelsea and Zipster appeal most of the newcomers.

Preference is for COMMANDER OF LIFE, who stepped up markedly on his debut effort when second at Lingfield last month and remains with potential. Macanudo and Parker's Piece are feared most.

An easy 6f will be fine for MACANUDO (nap), who took another forward step latest. Commander Of Life may want a bit further in time.

Bomb Squad was unable to sustain the gallop having made an explosive start at Newcastle last time out, but he merits respect following a string of placed efforts. Red Alert's winning run came to an end at Brighton last month but he cannot be left out of calculations, though preference is for PORFIN. Phil McEntee's charge is now 8lb below his last winning mark and recent performances would suggest he might be ready to cash in.

A few with chances but RED ALERT wasn't seen to best effect when fourth at Brighton and can quickly resume winning ways off an unchanged mark here. Porfin continues in good order and is next on the list ahead of the handily-weighted Bomb Squad and handicap debutant Little Man.

He was slightly disappointing over 1m last time but EMBARKED was a creditable fourth in a much stronger 7f race than this two runs ago.

JESINA could be ready to strike on her third start for trainer Eoin McCarthy. The seven-year-old mare finished runner-up in a bumper at Galway for Jessica Harrington last September but failed to trouble the judge on six subsequent outings. On her first run for new connections, the daughter of Milan shaped encouragingly when fifth in a handicap at this track. Having backed up that promising effort with a fourth placed finish at Sligo last month, the mare shouldn't be far away. Course and distance winner Paidi's Passion hadn't shown a great deal for some time prior to finishing second at Roscommon earlier this month. The David Christie-trained mare looks well handicapped if she can back that up. Rathnaleen Zoey, a second runner for Eoin McCarthy, also holds strong claims after a good third at Kilbeggan last week.

FLOREY SPUD arrives in good form and gets the nod in a tricky-looking handicap. Paidi's Passion and Jesina head the list of dangers.

In an open race the suggestion is SITTINGONTHEFENCE. She didn't see out 3m on her return but ran well to a point.

KITTEN GLOVES showed a decent level of ability across her three qualifying runs and was then far from disgraced on her handicap debut at Kempton 19 days ago. Eased 1lb in the ratings, she might be worth siding with, although Nuthatch is likely to provide stern opposition having been narrowly denied at Goodwood last month. Never This Way could prove to be better than an opening mark of 71 and he looks best placed to chase the pair home.

WILD HOOFER showed signs of ability in his three qualifying runs, each over 7f. This step up in trip should suit Archie Watson's colt, and an opening mark of 65 could be well within range for the son of Jungle Cat. Hildegard hit the frame at Kempton last time and would be firmly in the mix with a repeat performance, while Fleur De Mer appeals most of the remainder.

HILDEGARD showed enough at Kempton last time to think she has a race in her from a mark in the low 60s and gets the vote, although it is potentially significant that stable jockey Hollie Doyle is on the yard's other runner Wild Hoofer, a handicap newcomer for whom a strong market move would look significant. Fleur de Mer appeals as one who could do better in handicaps and also makes the shortlist.

After doing pretty well to claim third in a recent Kempton handicap, HILDEGARD gets the vote in the hope the headgear continues to help.

GLENDARS MAHLER looks to hold strong claims on a track that should suit her prominent racing style. The James Andrew Fahey-trained seven-year-old has shown her best form making the running or sitting just off the pace on tight right-handed tracks. Having weakened late on over further on her last start at Wexford, dropping back to this intermediate trip looks a wise decision. Movie King won over hurdles at Down Royal last month prior to running well in a handicap chase at Tipperary recently. The Tony Martin-trained gelding remains open to improvement having had just the nine runs over flights. Treyarnon Bay, a bumper winner for Nicky Henderson, has to be considered on her debut for Shark Hanlon. The five-year-old mare has plenty of scope for improvement having just her second handicap start.

MOVIE KING was never in it over fences last time but had done well over hurdles prior to that and might prove the answer to this handicap hurdle. Moyvilla Lass has run 2 sound races since switching to handicaps and is second choice ahead of That's About Right, who rates a potential improver now handicapping for the first time.

Tony Martin's MOVIE KING will be glad to see the back of fences and he was a decisive winner at Down Royal on his latest hurdle start.

The six-year-old remains unbeaten here after two wins over C&D, the latest of which came in May off just 2lb lower, and he may get back to winning ways returning to the all-weather. Wild Hurricane sports cheekpieces on only his fifth start and could also go well if the headgear has a positive effect, while Totnes is another to be interested in.

TARBAAN looks interesting back on AW having dipped to 2 lb lower than when successful over C&D in December. 3-y-o Totnes heads the dangers ahead of Godolphin's Wild Hurricane in a competitive race for the grade.

The vote goes to TOTNES, who's 2-3 on the AW and has been running well in better company on turf lately. Tarbaan is also considered.

Despite finishing a well-beaten fourth in a 0-80 at Chester last month, DOLLY GRAY was far from disgraced and she might be able to resume her progress down in class. David Loughnane's filly shades the vote ahead of Asadjumeirah, who continues to knock on the door. Imperial Dream is another who must enter calculations, while the unexposed Fifty Year Storm could play a part following a 248-day absence.

FIFTY YEAR STORM remains with potential back from 8 months off and looks on a fair mark for her handicap debut. She can make a winning return. Asadjumeirah and Imperial Dream are the principal dangers.

Antony Brittain holds a strong hand here with MURBIH preferred to Asadjumeirah.

MISTER PINK sets a strong standard on the back of his debut second at Fairyhouse in February. The front three pulled well clear of the remainder and the third horse boosted the form when winning on his next start. Willie Mullins Beat Hollow gelding didn't enjoy the clearest of passages during the race so may well have been closer with a trouble free run. The locally trained Tomas O Maille is a consistent gelding who has been placed on his last three runs. While the six-year-old needs to improve further if he is to beat the Mullins horse, it would be a surprise if he isn't one of the main threats. Derek O'Connor is a significant booking on the unraced Peter Fahey-trained gelding Soleil Couchant. Any market support for the son of Champs Elysees should be noted.

MISTER PINK should have learnt plenty from his encouraging Fairyhouse debut and can get off the mark in the finale. Tomas O Maille looks the likeliest danger on form whilst Soleil Couchant appeals most of the newcomers.

It's hard to get away from MISTER PINK after his promising debut at Fairyhouse behind a very nice prospect.

Atlantic Dream was beaten a long way when third on his debut at Nottingham, but the three-year-old did look as if he would improve considerably for the experience. Arctic Mountain is a newcomer to note being related to numerous winners and he is worthy of a market inspection, as is ALEXANDRETTA. A beaten favourite over seven furlongs at Salisbury recently, the extra furlong and return to the all-weather might see her get off the mark.

ALEXANDRETTA has run with credit on each of her three runs to date and shapes as if this longer trip will suit, so she takes marginal preference over newcomers Motriff and Arctic Mountain.

Arctic Mountain is a very interesting newcomer but ALEXANDRETTA is preferred, with 1m on Polytrack likely to suit.

Michael Dods has been in amongst the winners recently with Show Compassion helping with a win here over six furlongs last time out, but she has another 4lb now and is yet to win over this trip. VALENTINE BLUES took her only two starts last season, both over C&D, and if she is ready to go on her return to action she could add to that tally. Sparked is the pick for third, though the rest do look closely matched.

SHOW COMPASSION cosily got off the mark here a fortnight ago and is fancied to go in again with that form starting to work out well. Course winner Storm Melody is easing in the weights and could emerge as the main danger, although the returning Valentine Blues needs considering too given she has a good record fresh.

Sparked has a big run in her now dropped in grade but SHOW COMPASSION (nap) won cosily here two weeks ago and can follow up.

He can go well, but a chance is taken on WILDE AND DANDY, who strolled home in a similar race at Doncaster in June before a sixth at Newmarket. Daarree is also of interest having been gelded since his last run and with a first-time visor added.

Course winner INVERINATE arrives in fine form and is taken to get back to winning ways. Wilde And Dandy and Daarree can also make their presence felt.

It could be worth chancing the potential of DAAREE, who starts handicap life at a lowly level. Inverinate is the obvious danger.

Red Walls drops a class after some poor efforts but he has won here three times, with two off higher marks. Preference, though, is for BATTLE POINT. His last win was off this mark and although he has raced three times since, he returns from wind surgery here and may bounce back to form. Of the others, it could be worth considering Yaahobby judged on his recent placed form.

YAAHOBBY is in fine form and can end his losing run. Laertes is the danger back on AW. Lancashire Life is also in the hunt.

The tentative suggestion is Antony Brittain's YAAHOBBY, who has been keeping reasonable fettle over 6f in recent weeks.
