There were 26 Races on Tuesday 5th August 2025 across 4 meetings. There was 6 races at Ffos Las, 6 races at Catterick, 8 races at Roscommon, 6 races at Newbury, no doubt Tomform helped you find a winner.
The data in the racecards below is for the past year. View the racecard key.

KINGDOM OF STARS filled the runner-up berth twice before coming good over 2m at Kempton last month. The in-form four-year-old reverts to turf with a good chance of following up off just 3lb higher. Road To Wembley failed to land a blow over 1m4f at York last time, but could be a big danger to the selection back at this trip with first-time cheekpieces added. Mighty Bandit and Padesha complete the shortlist.

The lightly raced 4yo KINGDOM OF STARS has been progressing nicely on AW and there can be hope he'll be fine now back on turf.
Class & Speed Card

ALEEN showed plenty of improvement for her Carlisle debut when finishing third on a softer surface at Doncaster over this trip last month. If the Study Of Man filly continues to progress, she may come home in front. Urgent Call appears a serious rival after showing plenty of promise when trying to make all before finishing third at Musselburgh on his debut, while Reverberate is bred to be better than what he has shown to date and is another to consider.

Charlie Johnston won this last year and URGENT CALL is taken to get off the mark. Reverberate is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

Dryburgh showed ability when fourth on debut at Newmarket in June and it would be no surprise to see him improve for that experience. However, CONJECTURE was just touched off into second at Thirsk last month and sets the standard with an official rating of 77. Sir Mark Prescott's juvenile looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to shed her maiden tag. Any market support for newcomer High Esteem would be interesting.

Owen Burrows is in excellent form, including with his 2yos, and MOGBBEL earns the vote ahead of Oceans Four.
Class & Speed Card

Obee Jo has won here four times, three of which were over this trip, but he hasn't been at his best recently and may have to settle for a place. Rain Cap ran on well to score over 6f at Pontefract last month and is one to take seriously, but STARSHOT gets the vote. The five-year-old won as he pleased at Newcastle last month over this trip and if he transfers that level to the turf, he may double up.

Langholm may go well from the front, but he isn't the only pace angle and that may suit Irish raider SAXON KINGDOM.
Class & Speed Card

Diamondsinthesand recorded his second course success on his most recent outing and should mount a bold bid, despite his 4lb penalty. Last-time-out Wolverhampton victor Dandy G Boy needs considering in here, but a chance can be taken on DOLLYANA. She bounced back to form when making the frame at Newbury last month and was kindly dropped 1lb for that effort.

A career-low mark and the return to Ffos Las prompted a win for DIAMONDSINTHESAND last Tuesday and he is taken to defy a 4lb penalty.
Class & Speed Card

BOLLIN NEIL has won over C&D and clearly has no stamina questions to answer. He wasn't beaten far when fourth at Redcar in July and has every chance off 1lb lower. Star Of Jupiter is five years younger and looks an interesting alternative on his best form, which includes a Chepstow second last month, and he may get the better of Sophar Sogood for second place.

Star Of Jupiter holds solid claims again but a chance is taken on TOP FLIGHT CENTURY who switches back to the Flat.
Class & Speed Card

Turned out again quickly after a determined success at Southwell last week, HIERARCHY could kick on and he can follow up under a 5lb penalty. Back to form with a strong runner-up effort at Chepstow latest, Papabella is expected to be thereabouts, as well as Dark Rosa, who has dropped back to a mark 3lb lower than her last success.

Having been in good form previously, a change of tactics may have counted against MONSIEUR PATAT at Newbury last time.
Class & Speed Card

Already a six-time C&D winner, Quercus appeals despite a 5lb rise for his latest track-and-trip victory. However, LADY OF THE GARR shaded a narrow verdict when those two clashed at Wetherby in June and armed with a 4lb pull at the weights, Tracy Waggott's game filly can uphold the form. Irish raider Spirit Of Eagles is another with a strong chance, while Dream Deal is interesting tried in a tongue-tie and blinkers combination.

This may be best left to six-time C&D winner QUERCUS (nap) who won't mind what the weather does and may again have the race run to suit.
Class & Speed Card

NAKAAHA scored at the expense of a subsequent winner when breaking the maiden at Newbury last time out, and a 3lb rise may not be enough to prevent her from going in again with David Egan retaining the ride. Raised 6lb for a comfortable success at Kempton last month, Bear Island can follow the selection home, ahead of Condotti, who was a creditable third over C&D latest.

Things clicked for BEAR ISLAND (nap) when a well-backed winner at Kempton and he appeals as a type who can continue to progress.
Class & Speed Card

It wasn't a great race that INSPIRING SPEECHES won at Beverley last month, but he seemed to be galvanised by the refitting of cheekpieces and he certainly isn't overburdened by a 1lb rise. Tiberio Force didn't get a clear run when third that day and has a very feasible chance of turning the form around, while last year's winner Jamih could also have a big say.

Inspiring Speeches had TIBERIO FORCE behind him at Beverley but the latter didn't get the best of runs and can reverse the placings.
Class & Speed Card

A consistent sort since going hurdling, NOTICEBOX can record the first win of his career. With an official rating of 115, he should be good enough to win a contest such as this. Runner-up on his last three starts, Power Of Words is another that should make the breakthrough before too long. Jetaway Nana is one that could have scope for further improvement.

There's a lot of dead wood here. NOTICEBOX has been shaping like a winner waiting to happen and opportunity knocks here.
Class & Speed Card

TYPEFACE did it well when scoring comfortably in a classified stakes race here last week and, handicapping for the first time now, Ian Williams' charge is taken to progress again. Cotswold Cottage may have disappointed on her return to action at Chepstow, but she should improve on that first run for new connections, while course specialist Zambezi Magic can never be ruled out here.

The 3yo TYPEFACE kept on really well to win a 1m classified here last Tuesday and can defy a penalty over this extra furlong.
Class & Speed Card

Doralee's recent form figures don't tell the whole story and the still low-mileage four-year-old could improve with first-time blinkers added. Happier also merits close inspection off 4lb below her last winning mark. However, slender preference is for GARIFULLINA, who is a dual 6f winner that reverts to this trip with a big chance of further success in a race where all of her rivals have something to prove.

This can go to MRS BAGERRAN who should go well from the front with the visor now applied. Garifullina is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

A winner at this track on the Flat last October, FIREBRAND can make the breakthrough over hurdles. He needs to improve on recent form but has the potential to do so. Point-to-point runner-up Laurie Blue has yet to reach the frame under Rules but this looks a weak affair. Given her experience, the Court Cave mare has to be respected. Flat winners Roman Harry and River Derwent also enter calculations.

The pick of his efforts on the Flat and over hurdles would suggest that FIREBRAND is the one they all have to beat.
Class & Speed Card

HEATED MOMENT gets the speculative vote, especially if the market speaks in her favour. The daughter of Too Darn Hot cost 200,000gns as a half-sister to a couple of winners and Ollie Sangster has been back among the winners in the past week or so. Evie Ross is closely related to the speedy Steel Bull, who won the Group 3 Molecomb as a two-year-old, while Lahan Kingman, Touleen and Regatta are others to keep an eye on.

The tentative suggestion is CORALLIENCE, given her trainer's success with 2yo newcomers this season, ahead of Touleen.
Class & Speed Card

NED IN THE PARK can reverse recent course form with We're Back Again. Sent off favourite on that occasion, the Tim Doyle-trained gelding was still in contention when badly hampered after the second last. But for that interference, he may well have finished ahead of the Patrick Griffin-trained runner-up. The aforementioned We're Back Again is entitled to improve sufficiently from that promising debut effort to be the main danger. If none the worse for his recent fall at Down Royal, bumper winner Big Dee should also be competitive.

When behind We're Back Again here last month NED IN THE PARK was badly hampered two out. The selection has run well since.
Class & Speed Card

MISS CARTESIAN made every yard to secure a decisive win in novice company at Newmarket last time. That was her first start over 7f and, with the prospect of more to come now handicapping, Ralph Beckett's filly could prove better than her opening mark. Saariselka faced a much tougher assignment at Newmarket last month, but can make her presence felt back in this lower grade, while Lady Manzor will appreciate this return to 7f having won three times on the all-weather so far this year.

This can go to MISS CARTESIAN (nap) who is 2-3 and remains open to plenty more improvement now switched to a handicap.
Class & Speed Card

Runner-up here over fences last month, INTHENICKOFTIME can exploit a lower rating back over hurdles. A winner at Wexford last year, the Enda Bolger-trained five-year-old has shaped with plenty of promise on three starts over the larger obstacles and he appears to have been found an ideal opportunity to record the second win of his career. Killarney chase winner Smallcraftwarning also has to be of interest back over hurdles. Recent scorers Adaliz and Mister Vic are both worthy of consideration.

The suggestion is SMALLCRAFTWARNING who has been running well this year in both jumps disciplines and remains on a competitive mark.
Class & Speed Card

Golden Redemption placed in a couple of handicaps over 7f last month and has a shout back at this level. Valentine Boy also drops in trip off the back of a respectable debut fourth over 7f at Salisbury, but preference is for STAR OF MALI. James Tate's charge has shown plenty of ability in a couple of outings over the minimum trip and he could prove a more potent force over this extra furlong.

The drop back in trip gives GOLDEN REDEMPTION a bit more to prove but he is still selected, ahead of Star Of Mali and Raveena.
Class & Speed Card

FOXY GIRL has been lightly-raced and frustrating to follow since scoring back in December 2022 but has shown useful chase form on recent runs and is suited by soft ground. Her old hurdles form was useful and while she has been beaten in four chases, bumped into some capable types in those races and is suited by this distance. Maidenstreetprince will also handle an ease and ran well in a good handicap at Killarney last month. Fiveonefive is also noted.

MAIDENSTREETPRINCE ran with credit in a decent handicap chase last time and may finally get his head in front over fences
Class & Speed Card

Connie's Rose is consistent with a top three finish on her last four starts, but that leaves her in the grip of the handicapper and she may have to settle for more of the same. Bang On The Bell has won over this trip nine times and he can also go well, but MOE'S LEGACY gets the vote. The four-year-old has won her last three starts and may have more to offer.

Several of these are in fine fettle and FILLY'S LAST LADY gets a narrow vote over Miss Show Down and Moe's Legacy.
Class & Speed Card

STILY has shown improved form over hurdles recently and might score on his chase debut. From Kauto Star's family, the selection has run consistently well in recent handicap hurdles and could progress further. Zolpharine is more exposed but goes well for this 7lb claimer and is suited by conditions. Burru disappointed at Wexford last month but had previously run well here in June.

GAELIC DES CHASTYS (nap) was a close second in this last year, he's had a sharpener over hurdles and his rider's 5lb claim could be key
Class & Speed Card

Deep Water Bay is the only C&D winner in this field after his success here last month, but he has 5lb more to carry now. Percy Shelley is yet to win over this far and might have to settle for another place, so a chance is taken on GOOD SHOW. Andrew Balding's gelding missed all of 2024 but ran well when sixth on his first start in almost two years at Goodwood in June, and he may make the most of the drop in class.

Further improvement from Deep Water Bay would be no surprise but GOOD SHOW is an interesting rival, not fully exposed at 2m himself.
Class & Speed Card

JEU DE PIC is a 12-race maiden but ran well in a similar race last month and should cope with softening ground. The selection has been frustrating in his career thus far but nonetheless had useful hurdle runs last summer and, on his second chase start at Killarney, he bumped into a nicely handicapped winner, with Meehall finishing third. Western Model is noted too.

JEU DE PIC is relatively unexposed in this sphere and he handled softer conditions well when second at Killarney last time
Class & Speed Card

Percy Jones dead-heated for first at Chester before being placed second by the stewards, but he has an added 2lb now and may find some have too much for him. Saratoga Gold has a couple of course wins to his name and if a first-time visor brings him back to form, he could have a huge say, but LIGHTNING TOUCH looks the one. A lightly raced four-year-old, she ran on well into second here in July over 1m2f and looks all set to make the most of this extra two furlongs.

Roger Varian's lightly raced 4yo LIGHTNING TOUCH is unexposed and selected to get off the mark over this new trip.
Class & Speed Card

RIPSNORTER's yard has been doing very well in bumpers and he performed well for third last month. Well beaten on debut, he attracted support at Killarney where he finished ahead of fourth-placed Maskarvel, who finished second at Galway last week. Boo Radley represents top connections and is respected. Barrys Spirit hails from an excellent family stretching back to Flame Of Tara and he should also be taken seriously.

Given the champion trainer's record in bumpers here, BOO RADLEY is preferred ahead of Master Haku and Barrys Spirit
Ths is the racecard key.
